After a tumultuous week of having her private videos leaked and the world gathering together to either shun her or lend her support, actress cum singer Rabi Pirzada has made an announcement.

Rabi took to her Twitter to state that she had decided to leave showbiz for good and that she sought forgiveness from her creator.

“I, Rabi Pirzada am quitting showbiz. May Allah forgive my sins. And soften the hearts of people in my favour,” she tweeted with verse from the Quran that states it is up to Allah to give respect or  abase any being.

Earlier Rabi lodged a complaint with the Federal Investigation Agency over the leaked video that had gone viral on social media. Rabi had also sought help from Cyber Crime Cell stating that her videos had gone viral from her smart phone that she had sold some time ago. A complaint was also registered against the person Rabi had sold her phone to.

Over the span of 15 years where Rabi launched her career as a singer and continued as an actor alongside, she has had a number of controversies to her name. Sometimes its posing with a live cobra or featuring them in her song, sometimes its a blunt comment on ISPR and even posting pictures with bombs on a jacket.

On Twitter, people are now sharing all sorts of reactions to the announcement Rabi made.

Some people are supporting her decision to quit showbiz and wishing her strength, happiness and ease.

Pakistani TV actress and producer Javeria Saud has started her YouTube channel recently. The very first content that Javeria Saud is offering to her viewers is in the form of House Tour series which she is posting in different parts. In the latest released episode on her channel, Javeria Saud’s showed the upper portion of her bungalow and explained that they opted for floral theme in this entire portion. Social media is buzzing over Rabi Pirzada’s leaked videos and photos controversy. Her photos and videos were leaked right after when she took a jib at recent Neelam Muneer’s item number song in the film Kaaf Kangana.

Rabi Pirzada has approached Cyber Crime Cell to seek help for these videos and images under the Cyber Crime Act. She further added that her personal photos and videos were on her old smartphone that she had sold some time ago.

A movement has started under the hashtag #IamRabiPirzada. This movement has been started by Fauzia Ilyas who is a Dutch-Pakistani. She is the president and co-founder of Atheist & Agnostic Alliance Pakistan. Fauzia is an open atheist and she fled from Pakistan after receiving threats to her life and faced potential legal charges for blasphemy in Pakistan. She received asylum in the Netherlands where she is now a critic of Islam and campaigner for feminism, secularism and atheist rights in Pakistan.

She posted, “Dear folks, hope you’ll be doing good. We’re going to start a Facebook campaign in solidarity with a Pakistani singer, whose nudes had been leaked before two days. We’re taking our photos with the #IAMRABIPIRZADA and posting them on Fb. Because Pakistani people are cursing her. I really want that you support this motion. That would be really great. You can post it on your own or send it to me. I can do it on your behalf.”

Recently a ‘private’ and objectionable video of singer cum actress Rabi Pirzada went viral on social media. The video, leaked by unknown sources, spread like wildfire and soon a number of people were found sharing Rabi’s dance video without consent.

Some bashed, some supported Rabi for the leak of her videos but most people came forward calling out those who were sharing and spreading the objectionable videos. Following the leak, Rabi, herself, stated that the videos had been in an old smartphone of hers which she had sold and she had sought out help from cyber crime cell against the person she had sold the phone too.

Singer Meesha Shafi, advocate Nighat Dad and filmmaker Jami, also came forward in support of Rabi, stating how the culprit should be punished for leaking the video without Rabi’s consent and that people should stop bashing her for whatever happened.

Following the leak, fake news about Rabi Pirzada committing suicide out of shame has also been doing rounds. Although there is no grain of truth to this news, people have been quick to comment and pass judgement about how Rabi ought to have committed suicide for the mistake she made.

In a society, where a number of people have already succumbed to suicide due to societal pressure and condemnation, actress Armeena Rana Khan, was quick to point out that we didn’t need any more of such incidents whether Rabi had been responsible for the leak of the videos or not.

Stating the fact that Rabi hadn’t committed suicide, Armeena Khan added, “Let’s stop bullying her, spreading her stuff everywhere. You’ll be complicit if something does happen to her so pls stop. (I am not commenting on whether she did right or wrong that is between her and the maker). #rabi”

Armeena further stressed the point that people needed to be careful with their bodies and the use of smart phones since once something was out, nobody had any control over where it went and how it went.

Pakistani actor Imran Abbas has lost faith in Pakistani cinema. He was disappointed after watching a newly released Pakistani movie. He had an awful experience of watching this movie.

He posted on his Facebook account and wrote, “Watched a recently released Pakistani film last night and came back with immense disappointment and severe migraine. Undoubtedly it’s one of the worst 3 hours cinematic experiences I had in the last year.”

Imran was quite surprised about how illogical the movie was and said, “Surprised how illogical the story and screenplay could be and that too packaged with pathetic execution, bad cinematography with ridiculous and cringe-worthy performances of every single actor dressed in shabbiest clothes and cras/gaudy makeup.”

He continued and shared, “I wish I could find one single reason to praise this film. If you really want to quit watching films and start living a new life with no worldly desires, this film is tailor-made for you.”

He was more than happy that he was not a part of this film. He said, “Glad that I didn’t become the part of this film.”

He didn’t disclose the name of the movie and said, “Don’t want to offend the team by telling you the name, aqalmand k liye ishara he kaafi hai. But this standard of the film is pushing away many viewers miles back to the cinema.”

The first witness of Meesha was her mother, Saba Hameed. She testified against Ali Zafar in the court. Another update on Meesha Shafi’s case is here. The second witness of Meesha Shafi and former Model Iffat Omar testifies against Ali Zafar.

She supported Meesha’s allegations of sexual harassment against Ali Zafar. Renowned model and actress Iffat Omar told the court that Meesha was very disturbed over the issue before going public against Ali Zafar.

She talked about how Meesha and Saba Hameed enjoys a good reputation in the industry and said, “I can never imagine that they would ever lie.”

Iffat told the court that she was aware of allegations leveled by Leena Ghani, Maham Javaid and Humna. She fully believed in the allegations made by these women. She also told the court that there were other women also who have levelled allegations against Ali Zafar, however, they have not so publicly because of fear of backlash and threats.

Ali Zafar yet again failed to file a reply in the defamation case for Rs.2 billion filed by Meesha. Ali Zafar’s counsels have filed an application in the court asking the judge to stay Meesha’s defamation on the ground that Ali Zafar’s suit for defamation should be decided first. Meesha counsels have termed the move by Ali Zafar a dilatory tactic to avoid adjudication of Meesha’s case against Ali Zafar.

The court has adjourned the cases to 9th November 2019.

The same account also threatened politicians that they are the next target of Hareem Shah.

This controversy took internet by storm. The hashtags of #HareemShah and #ShaheenAfridi were trending on Twitter.

The story became interesting when Hareem Shah came forward to clear the controversy. In a video, Hareem Shah confirmed that she doesn’t use Twitter and Facebook and someone else is doing all this. These both accounts are fake and mishandled by someone else.

Ever since Rabi Pirzada’s leaked video and pictures went viral, Pakistan has been coming out in support of the singer cum actress and condemning the act. Majority called out the double standards of people who criticized the singer over her leaked videos instead of the person who had leaked them in the first place.

A lot of celebs also came out in support of Rabi Pirzada, condemning the act of the leaked videos and people who were sharing them on the internet without Rabi’s consent. Jami took to Twitter to urge people to alert the platform to block the videos being shared.

Alongside Jami, singer Meesha Shafi too came forward and supported Rabi Pirzada. However, despite her support and condemnation of the leaked videos, Meesha Shafi did not forget to mention how she and Nighat Dad, who Rabi had condemned for speaking about being sexually harassed, had came forward for her support.

Meesha however stated that she highly condemned the leaking and sharing of the videos and would always raise her voice when a victim was being shamed and humiliated. The singer also mentioned how that what was the true essence of feminism, protecting those who were unable to protect themselves.

Rabi Pirzada has now sought cyber crime cell’s aid for the leaked videos and images under the Cyber Crime Act. According to Rabi, her personal photos and videos were on her old smartphone that she had sold some time ago and now a complaint has been registered against the person she sold her smart phone to.

It was earlier in October when Hamza Ali Abbasi shared a tweet stating he would make an announcement at the end of the month. The tweet, rather mysterious in nature, said that a journey of a decade had come to an end and that Hamza would make an announcement by October end.

The tweet gave rise to so many speculations and now that October has ended and November on its way, the public is waiting, and anxiously waiting for Hamza Ali Abbasi to speak. Although the actor made no such revelations, Hamza’s fans and the Twitterati has been expecting the Alif actor to announce that he, too, like his wife, would be quitting showbiz and joining politics for good.

Hamza Ali Abbasi is currently appearing in Alif on Geo Entertainment.
