Tum Kon Piya – Episode 10

This episode of Tum Kon Piya wasn’t extraordinary but even then it is a decent play to watch on a weekday. The story is simple but some of the characters keep you guessing and there is a scenario in every episode which surprises you. The most intriguing character right now is that of Arif, there is a good reason why there is so much focus on this angry young man who is surely not capable of much. He has a low self-esteem and tries to cover it up by putting the blame on his family. He wants attention but is not willing to do anything to get somewhere in life. The last scene of this episode was also very significant. Zarbab found out how rich and influential Ramish was and he wants to keep in touch with him. Which makes me wonder if Arif will end up working for Ramish and this would lead to a constant connection between Elma’s in laws and Ramish. This of course is just a wild guess because for now I can’t think of any other reason why Arif’s failure in life is being given so much attention. The last scene was also very important because it showed how different Zarbab was from Elma and even Ramish. Money or status never mattered to both these people but for Zarbab it is everything; he thinks people who have these two should be treated with more respect!! Wasn’t this the kind of thinking which Waqar Ali was trying to escape when he married Elma to Zarbab?

tkp

Unlike the last episode Elma was shown thinking about Ramish. I found those scenes funny especially because it seemed like Ramish was an imaginary fairy god mother who appeared whenever Elma shed a tear – a tear drop away!!! It is however natural for Elma to think about Ramish. He is there in her thoughts when she is lonely or sad. Zarbab likes Elma, he tries his best to care for her but he is not as sensitive as Elma. Even when Waqar Ali talked to them about Elma’s sister’s marriage he was too busy looking at his phone and wasn’t interested in the conversation. A boy who has been raised by Sharaft Begum and has been brought up in such a household couldn’t possibly do better than that! I liked the fact that like a typical shaki husband Zarbab did not question his wife as to why this man would gift her such an expensive watch.

So far every development in this drama has been very convincing but Elma’s majburis and problems seem forced which makes it difficult for the viewer to feel for her. Elma never informed Zarbab that they were invited for dinner and she did not call her father and make an excuse. The whole thing was blown out of proportion, yes these small things hurt but then someone like Elma should have been able to handle the situation more decently. All of Elma’s sisters’ conversations revolve around their aapi right from day one which is why their characters are dull and boring.

tkp1

My favorite scene in tonight’s episode was the one that lead to Muzzaffar Hassan’s heart attack (which it looks like was real). Ramish wasn’t arguing with his father when it happened but he was actually trying to tell him that there were other ways in which he could prove that he was a good son. This marriage with Sunbal is like a business deal for Muzzafar Hassan and he will make sure that this deal is done because he does not believe in losing.

This episode was quite predictable but even then it was engaging enough. Apart from the problems Elma is facing in her susral everything else was covered well. Ramish’s next step was also a nice change since the same conversations revolving around money and status were getting repetitive. Imran Abbas acted well in tonight’s episode except for the scenes in which Elma imagined he was there, once again his dialogue delivery seemed rushed in those scenes. Ayeza Khan is brilliant as Elma, she makes her character more likeable. Yasir Shoro has managed to grab the viewers attention by making Arif’s character come to life and for now I am definitely more interested in his track because I have a feeling he will have an important role to play in the story. Ali Abbas is a natural; his effortless acting and clear dialogue delivery have truly impressed me. Hina Bayat is definitely doing justice to her role but I want to see a softer side of her character too or maybe a different side!! All the shouting gets to you after some time. Yasir Nawaz deserves credit for directing this play really well. It was good to see Elma wearing a simple dress and with a pony tail when she was cooking unlike many actresses who insist on looking like divas even when they are rotting in the kitchen! Yasir Nawaz has definitely paid attention to detail.

The preview of the next episode showed Muzzafar Hassan playing his last card which would mean that Ramish and Sunbal will eventually get married. Elma promised her father that she will help him out but Sharaft Begum will of course make sure that doesn’t happen!

How many of you watched this latest installment of Tum Kon Piya? Please share your thoughts about it.

Sohai Ali Abro As The Cover Girl For OK! Pakistan

Sohai Ali Abro is not only known for her acting but also for her boldness. She is one of those new actresses who are equally passionate about dancing and never have a problem showing more skin than is considered decent by most Pakistanis. Sohai Ali Abro takes pride in the fact that she is a confident woman who believes that no one has the right to judge anyone. In an interview she said that people who were against item numbers should see what they are doing themselves. She also said that she did not consider her performances as dance numbers and always enjoyed all of them because they had a story to tell.

Pyare Afzal was Sohai Ali Abro’s favorite projects because she loved the script and characters. Most people might not know that Sohai Ali Abro is a big fan of Salman Khan, she said that he is one of those actors she is in love with in an interview with NDTV.

Once again Sohai Ali Abro has proved that she is a very bold woman who never feels she is doing something wrong by revealing more than she should. She was the cover girl for the May issue of OK! Pakistan. Few pictures of the photo shoot have been made public which speak for themselves. Here they are:

Imran Abbas’ Latest Photo Shoot

0

Imran Abbas is known for his boyish charm even though it has been many years since he has been seen acting in dramas. He has played many different roles but the characters he has played the most are romantic in nature. Imran Abbas was seen criticizing Pakistani dramas in one of the Morning Shows in the recent past because he felt that Pakistani dramas were getting too bold and they were no longer family dramas. Imran Abbas also said that there was a time when he didn’t have much of a choice so he chose whichever project came his way but now he was in a position to refuse projects so he was only working in dramas which appealed to him. Imran Abbas has worked with the best directors and producers in the country.

Right now Imran Abbas is devoting all his energies to his next project which is the sequel of the play Khuda Aur Mohabbat. He is also seen modeling for different brands. His latest photo shoot was for a relatively new brand of Eastern wear Maaz Jee. Here are few pictures from the shoot:

Meera Talks About Heartaches And Deceit

0

Meera has been in the limelight a lot lately. This time she is trying her best to give people something good to talk about her. She is working in TVOne’s serial “Mein Sitara” and she has been a part of almost all the Morning Shows in which she talked about her film Hotal and also about her future projects without giving the viewers much to talk about in a negative connotation.

This time Meera was invited as a guest to Dawn News’ Morning Show “Yeh Zindagi Hai”. In this show she revealed that she wanted to take a break from acting especially in the films but if a good role is offered to her she won’t say no!! Meera in a previous interview also said that she had done glamorous roles all through her career and now she wanted to do character-driven roles. Talking about different kind of experiences she had in the film industry she said,

“I met many people who were a good influence, from whom I learned a great deal but there were many who tried to cause me harm and hurt me. There are many people who did not fulfill their commitments and lied to me. My heart has been broken many times but in a way it was good for me.”

meera1

Meera said that she had also met good people on the way and the biggest news is,

“I am going to write a book in which I will talk about everyone who is close to my heart and every incident which is close to me. I will talk about people who changed me, damaged me. People who were good to me, who were bad, the way I judged (perceived) people. All of that will be part of that book.”

meera2

She also shared that even after all these experiences she still believed there were good people in this world. She tried to trust people even now. Meera also believes that consistency is very important in life. Meera also announced on twitter last month that she was doing a film with Taher Shah but now there is no news about that!

Tum Meri Ho – Episode 4

This episode was rather disappointing because there was a great deal of repetition, and unlike the previous episodes, this one was a bit slow-paced.

At this point, the person who has all my sympathies, is Ana. I can only imagine what a newly wedded bride must be going through at a time like this, and the scene where she finds those honeymoon tickets that Mustafa had gotten for them, really made me sad. Ana is doing everything she can to reassure Mustafa that she is with him every step of the way. The only issue I have, though, is that the ‘aap jald theek hojayengay’ scenes are getting repetitive.

The character (caricature) of an incredibly nosy, can’t-mind-my-own-business, parasitic aunty has become a staple in our plays. I can’t for the life of me understand the point of such characters. In this case, we have Shakila, who is revealed to be Zayan and Mustafa’s phupo. She doesn’t care an ounce about Rabia and her family, and I can only hope that the future episodes are not dedicated to her attempts to turn Rabia against Ana. Did I mention that Shakila deems Ana (and her naseeb) responsible for what happened to Mustafa? I feel like ‘naseeb’ is the favourite word of our writers – koi saans le, khaans le, ro le, hans le, paas ho, fail ho – it’s important to bring up one’s naseeb in every conversation. It’s not that I don’t believe in naseeb and qismat, it’s just that the use of these words has become frustratingly repetitive. My eyes lit up when I saw Shakila with her suitcase, all set to go and leave Rabia’s family in peace, but imagine my horror when Rabia convinced her to change her mind! Rabia is a sensible lady (at least I thought she was) so I am disappointed that she can’t see how Shakila is clearly looking for ways to stir up problems.

I wish they had chosen a a good actor for playing Zayan’s friend because he understands Zayan’s condition very well, and I think he’s an important character. It is revealed that Zayan was on medication, but he has stopped taking his medicines. I am pleased that this conversation was shown because it stressed the fact that Zayan is sick and needs professional attention. Zayan is spending a lot of time with Ana, and though Ana doesn’t really know about his feelings for her, I think she does get that he’s weird – how weird, that she doesn’t know.

After watching Ana and Zayan’s scenes in this episode, I now get why people liked the chemistry between Faisal Qureshi and Sara Khan in Naraz. How many of you are following this show? Did you watch this episode? Voice your views.

Thank you for reading the review!

Two shows are better than one… Or are they?

When boredom strikes and curiosity gets the better of me, I find myself tuning in week after week to serials that make me question my life choices. In recent weeks, it so happened that I found myself hooked to not one but two serials! Dil-e-Beqaraar and Rishta Hai Jaise Khwab Sa. I don’t know if it’s a coincidence but both these dramas involve a triangle of some sort and cousin marriages. Full points for originality!

Dil-e-Beqaraar airs on Hum TV and stars Junaid Khan (Mudassir) and Hareem Farooq (Farida). Farida and Mudassir are first cousins and like each other and grew up with only one goal in life- shaadi! Unfortunately for them, their fathers have a long-running property dispute and the brothers have dragged each other to court. Mudassir’s father feels his younger brother is not entitled to inheritance in their abaayi ghar as he lived overseas and didn’t take care of their parents in their old age. A weak argument but one he voices so loudly and repeatedly it starts to feel justified. Farida’s father has done well for himself (overseas Ki kamaayi) but still wants to battle it out. He ultimately wins the case but loses his daughter as she elopes a few days before her wedding with Mudassir. Farida’s family severe all ties with her and relocate to Dubai but fortunately she gains acceptance in her Taaya’s home and their lives seem to be headed towards a happy…. But wait, no, how can that be? Farida starts complaining about the luxuries she grew up with that Mudassir can’t and probably never will manage to afford. They move to a smaller house after losing the case and have two kids within a span on two years and Mudassir loses his job… The promos hint at a dusri shaadi (yay) but the character of Mansha Pasha is yet to be introduced. Can.Not.Wait….

Rishta Hai Jaise Khwaab Sa airs on Aaj TV and stars Sheroze Sabzwari (Chotay Nawaab- Arsalaan) , Shazia Naz (Seher) and Syra Sheroze (Mehak). Chotay Nawaab is a spoilt brat who is pressurized into marrying his cousin Seher. He agrees to the nikah but shortly after, goes to his farmhouse. Chotay Nawaab is a playboy and he gets his goon to arrange for his indulgence. Mehak, a poor orphan girl gets fooled into thinking she’s going to get work in the city and finds herself being the target of Chotay Nawaab’s roving eye. She manages to run away and is fortunate to find honest police officers who are brave enough to capture Arsalan and free him on the condition that he performs nikah with Mehak to keep her izzat intact. Arsalan, who signed a similar nikah naama just a few hrs ago thinks nothing of it and ditches Mehak in the middle of nowhere. As luck would have it, Arsalan’s driver, Feroze Chacha finds Mehak and takes her under his wing as his bhateeji and Mehak finds herself living in Arsalan’s home as his servant. Arsalan’s helpless parents are played by Nadeem and Laila Zuberi both of whom have major parenting fail attached to them. Nadeem reminds me of his unnecessarily ziddi role in Mol who similarly pressurized his son Into marrying his bhateeji and Laila Zuberi was the hopeful mother of Mikael who till the very end tried covering up for her son in Mann Mayal…

At this point I like guessing where the stories are headed. Who wants to hazard a guess with me?

Sarwat Gillani’s Upcoming Project

People love Sarwat Gillani for her bubbly nature, versatility and terrific acting. Currently, we can see her drama, Mann Pyasa on A-Plus, but she has yet to make a comeback with an impressive project. Fans will be delighted to know that Sarwat Gillani will be seen in Seeta Bagri, a drama written and directed by Iqbal Hussain, and it also happens to be Adnan Siddiqui’s first production. It gets better – Sarwat Gillani will be seen alongside veteran actress Bushra Ansari, who is currently attracting praise for her phenomenal acting in Udaari (on HumTv).

As the title of the play suggests, the drama explores Hindu minorities, the Bagri clan. Talking to Dawn Images, Sarwat Gillani revealed that she is playing the titular character, Seeta, who is an advocate of women’s education. She describes her character as an ambitious, calm and honest woman who wants to improve the lives of the underprivileged girls of her community by educating them. A feminist striving to make a difference? I’m in!

Sarwat Gillani also spoke about Bushra Ansari’s role in the story. Bushra Ansari plays a rich Hindu bangle factory owner named Nandani Daas who makes her way into Seeta’s house and marries Seeta’s tenant/love interest, Ruttan Laal (played by Syed Jibran). The rest of the cast includes Qawi, who plays Seeta’s father and Shameen Khan, who plays Ruttan Laal’s cousin.

The entire team is working with dedication and enthusiasm. Sarwat Gillani is learning Hindi for this project. The drama is expected to go on air in September on TV ONE. It doesn’t sound like anything we’ve watched before so I am really excited!

Besharam – Episode 03!

Oh wow, it was such an interesting episode of Besharam & I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. I must say that the pace of this drama is a bit too fast which I most certainly don’t have a problem with but the thing that concerns me tad bit is that the dramas that begin with such a fast pace become quite slow when they approach the end, so I really hope that this doesn’t turn out to be the case with Besharam & they end up giving us all the episodes that are power-packed & interesting.

A lot of things happened in everyone’s lives. Where Mishal was totally convinced that Daniyal was her Mr. Right, she found out the truth about him that too at the right time. Like a dear reader last week predicted that Daniyal could be Jamal’s son & that’s exactly what the truth turned out to be. Jamal was a perfect depiction of the double standards of our society because Jamal on his own could get married to anyone despite having a wife & grown up children but when it comes to his kids, he got his son married to his niece & then he didn’t approve of the fact that Daniyal should get married to a model. Just as quickly as Mishal fell for Daniyal, she snapped out of her love for him with the same speed too but the thing that hurt her the most was the comment that Jamal passed about Mishal being shameless. Anyways, I am glad that Daniyal’s role in the drama is over & we won’t be seeing him again. It was actually quite amusing to see that just when Jamal exposed the truth about Daniyal being married, he was still bent on getting married to Mishal thinking that she won’t have an issue with his marital status at all.

I must say, I enjoyed the bits of Sikandar & Haider’s family the most. It was quite amusing to see Haider turning into a ‘heera’ from a ‘ghunda’ for Sikandar just because he found out that Haider not only joined Asfand Sultan’s political party, but he also became an important part of it too. The way Sikandar & Shakira changed their perspective about Haider was quite interesting to see because it shows what a power & authority & a tad bit of wealth can do to people like them. Just a few days ago Sikandar was against Haider but not anymore & not only that, now Sikandar was ready to get Saba married to Haider as well as he could deduce that his daughter will have a secure future with Haider.

Sofia (Fia) showed up & she happens to be Sara’s daughter from one of her marriages. Sofia seemed a bit spoiled in the beginning but as she got more coverage it showed that she was kindhearted too & held her family members closer, whereas when it comes to Mishal, she is super sweet with all the people around her except her family members & I believe she has a reason to feel that way because she has grown up with a mother who was an emotional wreck, who failed at marriages quite a few times & is still not settled mentally & emotionally, so I don’t blame Mishal if she has lost a bit of respect for her mother.

The thing that they subtly touched upon & I liked the most was the way Haider didn’t judge Mishal for the bold photo-shoot she did after breaking up with Daniyal. It goes to show that he doesn’t believe in focusing on things that do not matter to him & more than that, he doesn’t believe in judging people by seeing one side of the story. Also, I was happy to see the progress that Haider made & also, it was good to see Asfand depending on Haider a lot because he has seen how eager Haider is bring a change in his surroundings. Somehow, I really like how they have tried to show a positive side of the politics & it is good that Haider is getting a free-hand by Asfand to do what he wants to & openly practice his policies as Asfand & Haider both share the same mentality & they actually want to bring a change in the society through positivity.

Finally, the hero & heroine crossed paths & going by what Haider witnessed at Tahir Malik’s rites suggested that it must’ve sparked an interest or a tad bit of attention towards Mishal. Quite subtly & unfortunately they shed a light upon the harsh realities of politicians & the mindset they have regarding the models or those girls who choose to put themselves out there in the world to be scrutinized by such people. Tahir Malik couldn’t tolerate what he heard from his colleagues & ended up killing himself because it definitely was the guilt that haunted him as he knew that he failed as a father & just because he wasn’t around Mishal, he lost his daughter due to his own mistakes. I felt for Mishal a lot when she sat in her room & cried at her father’s death, even though she wasn’t on good terms with him but still she knew that she lost her father & she can never undo the note at which they both parted. It was sad that Mishal was pushed out of her father’s home, let’s see how the story will unfold.

I must say I love the way the emotions of all the characters are covered & conveyed by the writer & the director, everything they say & each & every expression of them shows what they are going through & you immediately understand their pain & anguish. I like Haider’s character for his bluntness & honesty, he doesn’t fail to say what is on his mind & that’s quite charming. Mishal is emotionally struggling a lot & that has been conveyed by Saba Qamar flawlessly, however, I found her acting a bit weak in the scene where she had to yell at Daniyal & Jamal, but she redeemed herself in the last scene where she retaliates at her father’s rites. All the supporting actors have done a great job but once again I will say that Mehmood Akhtar takes the cake for being so amazing. I actually had a great great time watching his scenes & those uncomfortable fake smiles that he passed at the things that he didn’t intend to do, lol. I love the editing of the show so far, all the scenes are short & to the point because of which not even a single scene becomes boring & keeps you looking forward to what’s yet to come. I am thoroughly enjoying watching this drama & I hope it stays that way. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Besharam.

Zara Yaad Kar – Episode 11!

Ohkay so, this episode was slow but was definitely good in bits & pieces. The story is definitely making some progress & that is a good thing to see. I can’t wait to see how things will be reversed for Haadi & Mahnoor & what Mahnoor will figure about her life & what she will be left with, in the end.

I honestly believe that if someone wants to watch Zara Yaad Kar, they should do it solely for Saba Faisal’s acting & for the character of Aneesa that she is playing. I can’t emphasize enough on how much I love her as Aneesa. She is so calm & composed but you can see through her expressions that a storm has taken over her entire heart & soul. Haadi finally decided to show up & the exchange of glances between the aunt & nephew was phenomenal. The aunt knew what her nephew was going through because of her daughter & the nephew knew what his ex-wife-to-be was putting his aunt up with. Aneesa & Haadi knew that things were about to change & what they valued the most, which is their relation was going to change as well. Aneesa sat there defeated & sad, while Haadi tried to give her some hope that things will be alright, that he will be alright too.

I loved the way Haadi told Mahnoor to think things through ‘once again’ for the very last time. It showed how much of a room his heart had for her & how much he was ready to budge & bend in order to hold onto what was theirs. Mahnoor sat there like an expressionless, soulless & heartless statue who thought she had some power over him because he gave her a higher status & also because he was making an effort to stop her once again from jumping into deep pit. Their parting conversation was written beautifully & more than theirs, I love the conversation that took place between Aneesa & Haadi. Aneesa told Haadi what should be his priority in finding someone to get married to. Aneesa was shaken & more than that she was ashamed that Mahnoor betrayed both, her husband & her mother, that is why Aneesa made sure to let Haadi know that he needs to find someone who will take care of him, who will love him just as much as he deserves.

Wah! I am impressed by Waqar’s farsightedness because he really is lucky when it comes to girls. His sweet-talking has taken him to such places, where one girl got divorced for him & the other is doing everything to keep him in her sights by going through such a pain of buying an apartment for him, which he shamelessly accepted. The importance Mahnoor holds in Waqar’s life was depicted once again where he didn’t bother leaving a message for her to not wait for him because he got caught up with some work. He indifferently left with Gaitiara to Umarkot & didn’t feel the need to inform Mahnoor who was waiting to get married to him, lol! With Mehtab Deswali gone, Gaitara needs someone to rely on, so who else would do the honors than Waqar himself. I am sure this will bring Gaitara closer to Waqar & she will fall for him completely.

I loved the way they depicted Mahnoor’s mental state when she kept on calling Waqar again & again & couldn’t get in touch with him. It was more than just a phone call & more than just a conversation that she wanted to have with her husband-to-be. It was more of an assurance that she needed after her divorce to validate that she made the right decision & despite losing one, she had another safety net to fall back on as well. Mahnoor was eager to speak to Waqar & when she couldn’t get in touch with him, it showed her fear that she will spend the rest of her life with because after what she has done to Haadi, I am sure she will always have a guilty conscious & a fear that the same thing might happen to her too. She will never have that inner peace because she knows what she did was wrong as she had no good reason to leave Haadi but just because she was unfaithful, she fell weak & lost her dignity. Mahnoor might think that she has won Waqar, but deep inside, she will always have a voice in the back of her head, affirming her fears!

Haadi is shattered & the way he decided to clean his house went to show how he was trying to move out of the head space that reminded him of Mahnoor & that is why he resorted to cleaning which often turns out to be quite therapeutic. I am sure now Haadi will start thinking about Uzma because Uzma fits the bill of all the things Aneesa said about the sort of a girl being suitable for him, but yes, I will also add that everything else is nice but someone please buy Uzma a comb as she’s in dire need of one.

This episode was pretty decent. I love love love Saba Faisal’s acting & for me, she is the saving grace of this drama. Zahid Ahmed was good too & depicted the mental state of Haadi perfectly. I must say Gaitiara looked nice in eastern outfits more but I wish she becomes fluent in Urdu ASAP. I enjoyed the dialogues of this episode in particular too & for the first time felt that they used the OST at the right time in the scene where Haadi drove away after finalizing his divorce, it added more depth to that situation. Anyways, please share your thoughts about this episode of Zara Yaad Kar.

Saba Qamar Says No To Bold Scenes In Bollywood

0

Saba Qamar decided to do a Bollywood film after rejecting many scripts. When the offer to do a film alongside the famous actor Irfan Khan came along Saba Qamar decided she could not miss this chance. It is becoming very common for Pakistani celebrities to work in Indian films. Not everyone gets love and appreciation from home when they do that but it is considered the next big step.

Talking about her first Bollywood venture Saba Qamar revealed,

“It’s a situational comedy based on social issues. I play the character of a wife who is a wee bit dominating and is looked after very tenderly by her husband. The role of the latter will be essayed by Irfan Khan.”

1

The name of the film is still a mystery. While talking to Express Tribune Saba Qamar revealed the two most important reasons because of which she said yes to this project. She said,

“After I read the script, I realized it was a very interesting film, but most importantly, considering the fact that I will get to work with Irfan, who I think is a great actor to the core — I could not possibly say no to it.”

Pakistani actors are very often criticized by people for shooting bold scenes in Bollywood films. Saba Qamar made it clear that it was something she was very straight forward about.

2

She said,

“Any bold scenes are an absolute no for me. This has been decided long ago: I won’t be doing any bold scenes in the film, nor will I be told to do an item number. I have been doing bold scenes in Pakistani films but will not do any in Bollywood, whatsoever.”

Saba Qamar realizes she has a big responsibility on her shoulders so she says,

“I just need to show my acting skills through the film. I won’t allow people to talk behind me and say, ‘Yeh iss ne kia kiya?’ [What has she done?]. Besides, I will not be Saba Qamar there but an individual Pakistani, representing my country on Indian soil.”

3

Mawra Hocane also gave similar statements when she took up her first Bollywood project but when the film came out people were shocked to see the bold scenes. Saba Qamar is very excited about this new project. We wish her all the best.

Sonia Hussain Makes An Important Announcement

0

Anyone who follows the news will know that the news of Danish Taimoor working as a lead alongside Sonia Hussain in his next film was confirmed by both the actors few weeks back. Mann Mayal – Episode 18

Aaj ki taza khabar:

Mannu ke maa baap ko yaad aa gaya ke un ki aik beti bhi hai!!

Mikael ne sharab chor ke coffee peena shru kr di.

*taliyan*

Oh wow!! Finally!! Mannu’s parents were shown thinking and worrying about her. Now only if one such scene was added in some of the previous episodes as well, it wouldn’t have seemed strange. I understand the logic but even then it does not make a lot of sense the way they completely disappeared from the drama in the past few episodes. Mannu’s parents were not worried about her before because her in laws were there to look out for her but even then there was no reason why they shouldn’t have missed her and worried about her earlier too. Mannu’s parents definitely deserved a lot more screen time than they got in all the previous episodes. This concern for Mannu came at the same time when Salahuddin realized he needed to push Mannu to go to her parent’s house. What Jeena said to him was absolutely right but Ayesha Khan’s acting in this particular scene was not the least bit impressive. I am already quite disappointed with Salahuddin and Hamza Ali Abbasi therefore the less said the better!! His wooden acting with zero emotions does not help his character in any way.

While Mikael and Salahuddin were arguing somehow I found it difficult to side with superman. Although Mikael is a sad excuse for a human being but even then I felt like this was none of Salahuddin’s business. Like many of Mannu’s other problems, this latest problem too could have been easily solved without the involvement of ‘superman’. First rule is that you give your kid paracetamol when they have a fever instead of calling a useless husband who won’t ever leave his game to take the kid to the hospital or your ex who you want to distance yourself from!! If Mannu hires a 24 hours driver and stops proving that she doesn’t need help with the kids then she will have someone to drive her to the hospital any time she wants and also someone who can carry her kid for her!!! Mannu is bent on suffering. She is like one of those prisoners who get used to their prison walls and do not even attempt to escape!

mann mayal1

I was disappointed with Jamil’s character as well in tonight’s episode. For the first time he thought it was okay to sit with Jeena and gossip about their boss’ love life!! He was doing a great job of keeping a distance from Jeena until the last episode.

Mujhe Salahuddin chahyeh – how old is Jeena any way?? Ayesha Khan is usually very convincing in emotional scenes but her acting in this particular scene was so fake just like Salahuddin’s laughter! mujhe tum sirf office ke kaam ke liye chahyeh aur kisi kaam ke liye nahi dialogue was funny!! Talk about putting it bluntly. Jeena truly believes that a way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. The scenes covering Salahuddin and Jeena’s track are repetitive and annoying.

The preview of the next episode showed that Mannu’s happiness will be short lived. There was a time when there was something slightly likeable about Mannu’s character but now she has turned into one of those becharis who are bent on living a miserable life. Her self-created problems make it impossible for the viewer to feel for her character. She is educated, has a family which supports her but still she fails to see that her kids don’t have a great future living in that house and she should move out for them if not for herself. Most girls would kill to be in Mannu’s position – to have a family which supports them.

The preview of the next episode also showed Jeena succeeding in spending more time with Salahuddin – something I most certainly am not looking forward to!

How many of you watched this latest episode? Please feel free to share your thoughts about it.

Nida Yasir’s Blunder # 10001!

Where in the rest of the world the morning shows or the talk shows are dedicated to educate the viewers who watch them by having a purpose or a message that needs to be conveyed, sadly, in our country Pakistan, the morning shows are only being used & have been dedicated to the purpose of getting the already married couples married, making the dusky beauties conscious of their complexion, showing how the Pakistani ladies can beat goras by using different products/machines & to the certain mindless activities that the celebrities are forced to attempt in order to grab ratings.

Well, all the points mentioned above are not a secret anymore & everyone is well aware of the fact as to where do our morning shows stand when it comes to intelligence, purpose & message. I do however agree that the hosts of these morning shows end up facing the brunt for something which is usually a team effort & has been designed & complied by the entire team but at certain times, these hosts do prove a point of how they are not suitable to be seated in the host’s seat as with that seat comes a greater responsibility.

On May 20th, 2016, Good Morning Pakistan; a morning show hosted by Nida Yasir was dedicated to the celebration of 400 episodes of Bulbulay. Having followed Bulbulay on & off sparked an interest & I gave this episode of Good Morning Pakistan a go because I wanted to hear the stories that the cast might have to share regarding their journey. The rest of the episode was good but what shocked & left me in disbelief were the first few minutes of this episode which were dedicated to the Engineering Students of National University of Science & Technology (NUST) & their amazing project.

Abdul Aleem & Mohammad Shariq Waqar; the students of NUST were invited to Good Morning Pakistan to talk about the very first “Electric Formula Racing Car” that they along with other 17 group members have created, which also happens to be the very first Electric F1 Car that has ever been made in Pakistan. These students will not only be representing Pakistan in FSAE Competition that is going to be held in Lincoln, NE, USA this year in June, they also happen to be the one & only team participating & representing the continent of Asia as well. *hats off*

Where I do believe that the entire show should’ve been dedicated to these students for such a huge achievement, they were clearly treated as an afterthought because guess what, the 400 episode mark of Bulbulay is more important & bigger than the very first Electric Formula Racing Car of Pakistan, right? Well, coming to my point, where I was ecstatic to see the students talk about their amazing creation, I was left speechless when I saw the way Nida Yasir conducted their interview, in which she left no stone unturned to make it evident that she had no idea what a Formula Racing Car is, what she was asking & what the students were talking about. During their introduction, which was written on a cue card, which again shows how she wasn’t prepared for this at all, she ended up saying that they were taking a ‘formula’ of the racing car to the competition, followed by a series of questions that made it clear that she actually didn’t know what a thing named ‘Formula’ Racing Car is. That wasn’t the only mistake that Nida Yasir made, she also ended up asking how many people could be seated in the car to which the students clearly responded that just because it was a ‘Formula’ Racing Car, only 1 person could operate it, to which her response was that oh may be because it was their first ‘car’, they made a small one as a tester. Yep!

Even after the students gave a clear idea of what their creation was, Nida Yasir kept on making one blunder after another which clearly suggested that she was clueless about what a Formula Racing Car is & she thought that the students basically had a ‘Formula’ – a design plan in theory which they will take & propose to the committee hosting that competition. Not only that, she also confused this competition with the Car Conventions that take place all over the world, by asking if it was because of competition like these, the people around the world get to know which car model is the latest. A moment of silence please!

Have a look at the video to confirm your fears.

https://youtu.be/WqbwFj_Iee4

Well, I am ready to give a benefit of the doubt to any regular person who has nothing to do with technology or cars or anything because these topics do not interest quite a lot of people at times, including me, but thankfully despite my lack of interest in the subject, I know what a Formula Racing Car is, but here, in this case, I fail to give Nida Yasir a leeway because she is not a random girl, sitting in her TV lounge, asking these questions to get to know for the first time what a Formula Racing Car is. She is sitting on a host’s seat with may be a 100 people in her team who do the research, compile the content & then handover the fully-baked show to her to conduct & for the entire Pakistan to follow, but I am shockingly amazed & amused that with Google being accessible to each & every person in the world, she had no idea what the students had created & what they were invited to her show for because she herself was clueless about the subject, which shows her level of unprofessionalism & unintelligence.

I am shocked & disgusted that where our students are achieving so much, they never get enough coverage & encouragement from the media & sadly when they do, this is how they are treated & clearly become an afterthought. I hope Nida Yasir had realized that she has a huge viewership & for that matter, she had done some research on her own & had shown a little interest on her part, in order to be able to talk to her guests properly in stead of making such blunders which is also an insult to her guests. I will commend the students for what they have achieved but before that, I will definitely commend them for not laughing at the host’s face because of how (sorry for the word) ‘stupid’ she sounded while asking those questions.

Students like Abdul Aleem & Mohammad Shariq Waqar are our pride & joy & I am glad that they have a power of a social media in their hands to channel out their creativity & intelligence & let the world know what Pakistani students are made of, because when it comes to Pakistani Media & hosts like Nida Yasir, students like them don’t really have a chance because our hosts hardly recover from the shadi hangovers & they are more interested in lightening the skin color of the entire Pakistan. What good does a representation of Pakistan on an international level do & what is so great about making the first ever Electric Formula Racing Car of Pakistan, eh, it’s peanuts for Nida Yasir I believe!

I actually watched that segment thrice to make sure I was not mistaken & if Nida actually was talking properly but in the end I am so glad that she proved me right that I wasn’t overestimating her intelligence. I so wish our hosts, before gracing the hosting seats understand & realize how important it is for them to be educated, how important it is for them to be knowledgeable & how important it is for them to have a know-how of the topics that they might have to speak about at times because not every single show is going to be about make-up, shadi & skin whitening injections & there will be some fraction of seconds where they will have to talk about something meaningful, important & educational.

Anyways, I congratulate Abdul Aleem, Mohammad Shariq Waqar, their entire team & the institution of NUST for their creation & I wish them all the best for their future endeavors. I am actually proud of the fact that our students are representing Pakistan on an international level. It gives me joy & it gives me hope. I commend & salute you guys.

Zahra Mirza.

In an interview she said that she loved acting the most and singing came second. For her modeling is just a way of earning money. Sanam Saeed is very tall and was always lean that is why when she started her career as a VJ everyone insisted that she should become a model. She has never liked it but takes up good projects whenever they come her way.

Sanam Saeed played the lead in the film “Bachaana” alongside Mohib Mirza. Sanam Saeed comes from a family which has never been in any way associated with showbiz so it was difficult for some of her extended family members to accept her decision to step in the world of showbiz. Sanam Saeed is known as a friendly person who is at good terms with everyone in the industry. Tere Mere Beech – Episode 26!

Ohkay so, before saying anything, I am glad to announce that this is going to be the last review of this drama that I’ll be writing & also the very last episode of this drama that I’ll be watching because I have had enough & I don’t think it’s worth my time any more. So yeah, we all have the last chance to say what we feel like so let’s go for it!!!

I think Qadeer & Salma both wasted their time by showing at the door step of Hareem & her brain-dead, mad, lunatic & bi-polar mother. I believe that the writer of this drama isn’t aware of something known as ‘closure’ because she could’ve easily used this situation to show that everything was forgiven & forgotten & all these guys made truce with each other & decided to start afresh but nope, everyone was digging the old graves because they were told that doing this will ensure the dragging of the drama which they all were trying to achieve. Hareem said she had nothing to do with the property & wealth distribution anymore then why was she holding onto the grudge & said she will never forgive Qadeer for everything that he has done? If the property didn’t matter to her any more then she should’ve reminded herself that Qadeer did everything for the sake of property as well, therefore she should’ve forgotten about it as she had no reasons to hold onto the past. I actually lol’ed at the things Zahida said because she was acting like a boss who was in charge of the situation. Zahida said that she forgot about everything & was waiting for Karma to bite Qadeer back, whereas just a few months ago she was sitting in his house, with a weak voice & no position as she knew she was dependent on Qadeer & his wife, so where did this attitude & ego of not forgiving Qadeer & wishing ill upon him erupt from? Zahida should have remembered that just a few months ago she was able to feed herself because of Qadeer’s mercy. It was pathetic of Zahida to brain-feed Hareem again about how she shouldn’t let go of the opportunity to grab her share of the property. Such a cunning useless woman I swear!!!

Fahad has changed & Hareem doesn’t want to get divorced, so what’s left to show & why is the drama not ending? It is so ridiculous that a girl like Hareem is feeling confined & restricted to go back to Fahad just because her family is not allowing her? Whereas she was the one who literally created a havoc in order to get married to Fahad before, so why can’t she do that again?

All this while, I thought we will get to see a few scenes where Hareem’s sisters will realize their mistakes & will also realize how hard things were on Hareem & might as well apologize to her too but nothing of that sort was shown & in stead their attitudes have gone from bad to worse because ever since Hareem has returned, they weren’t seen apologizing to her but all of a sudden they are now bossing around her trying to tell that they have a right over her life? What a waste of screen, time & space these self-proclaimed saints Nadia & Sadia are.

Oh well, this is exactly what Hareem wanted to hear, someone supporting her wrong decision of getting back with Fahad again & Shehla did the honors? I am still wondering what was the character of Shehla offering that Hina Bayat herself told us to stay tuned for? She didn’t have ‘any’ & I repeat ‘any’ positive impact on Hareem’s life & she is just as confused, miserable, broken & mindless as she was before meeting Shehla, so what did Shehla actually do apart from dragging the drama further?

Zahida can’t do without crying I believe because her bhain bhain mode was activated the moment she heard that Fahad met Hareem. I must say, the actress playing the character of Zahida should never be hired by the producers again & this should be her punishment for making the character of Zahida such a pain & IF she thinks she looks cute with that weird face & those uber weird curls, then someone please get her a mirror!!! I couldn’t stop rolling my eyes at the mean looks that Sadia was passing to Fahad, chalo if these sisters had a good bonding with Hareem, then I would’ve understood their concerns for her & also their decision of preventing her to get back with Fahad, but when they themselves HATED Hareem & held her responsible for every single thing, then why are they making an issue of the fact that Hareem & Fahad spoke to each other? They hated Hareem, so they should be perfectly alright if things aren’t smooth in Hareem’s life because they didn’t care before so they shouldn’t care now either!!!

I must say that I am amazed at the lota-pan that Ali & Nadia displayed in this episode. Ali wanted Fahad to sign the divorce papers in the first half of the episode. Nadia wanted Hareem to get divorced from Fahad & not marry Qadeer’s son in the first half of the episode too but in the second half, Ali changed his stance & supported Fahad saying that he has changed & then Nadia forgot that she was strongly against Fahad as well but now just because she saw her husband supporting him, she decided to go with the flow too as if her say mattered & she was an important character. Ali & Nadia deserve to get the award for the ‘most useless couple’ of Pakistani drama industry fo sho!!!

Well guys, I am done with this drama. I actually feel that something is seriously wrong with HUM TV, or may be something was wrong with them the past year because they gave a chance to the amateur self-proclaimed so-called writers, who made the mockery out of script-writing. I think more than anything else, HUM TV should actually pay utmost attention to the ‘writers’ they allow to write a content for them because that’s where the channel is going wrong. I can’t believe that there used to be a time when each & every drama of HUM TV used to be a treat to watch but that’s not the case anymore. I still can’t believe that the script that had so much of potential of showing how a troubled young girl finds her way & how her family realizes their mistakes, the writer didn’t work on any of those aspects & turned it into a typical & pathetic drama. Anyways, before concluding the review, I will say that Sanam Chaudhry was an eye-candy throughout the drama & I loved watching her. She is a very powerful actor & I hope she chooses her future projects wisely, also Agha Ali did a great job as Fahad in the initial episodes too, the rest, well in this case, the ‘nothing’ said the better! Please share your say.

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

ps: The girl that sang the title song should stop singing, I literally have muted all of her bits when the drama went on a commercial break every single week without a fault because her voice is capable of breaking the glasses & damaging the eardrums, what a torture I must say!

Mor Mahal – Episode 05!

Ohkay so, I enjoyed watching this episode of Mor Mahal a lot because a lot has started to happen & unfold, which has made things quite interesting. Slowly & steadily all the tracks are being elaborated & the background stories of all the characters are being brought forward, which is a good thing because we are not left wondering or imagining things on our own & by doing that, they are helping us understand the situations & the characters better.

Farrukh Zaad is worried that the chances of her son Taimur becoming a ruler are getting quite slim, because Asif Jahan is now far more interested in Surraya & is eagerly awaiting the new arrival. Farrukh Zaad’s son Taimur has been kept away from his parents & the reason hasn’t been told yet but I am definitely looking forward to find why things are like that. Farrukh Zaad should thank Shahista that she is not only a servant to her but ends up brainstorming on her behalf too because even though Farrukh Zaad herself is quite far sighted & calm, Shahista’s say in her personal affairs matters a lot & opens up a new dimension for her to ponder & work upon.

I am still not sure if Akhtari has some supernatural powers or she is just making the most of her unusual aura to fool Badshah Begum. She did however feel something when she passed by the area where Meher Bano was hiding. All this while, nothing actually sparked an interest of mine in Meher Bano’s story but this episode changed that for sure. The way Meher Bano’s character is being linked to many things & how everyone is one way or the other dependent on her definitely makes her a central character for now. Asif Jahan is getting pressurized by Meher Bano’s brother to extend his family with Meher Bano. Farrukh Zaad is depending on Meher Bano’s bridal shawl to get back at Badshah Begum. Badshah Begum is also concerned about Meher Bano & seems like Asif Jahan also feels he should give Meher Bano a status of his wife. Even though Akhtari doesn’t know who she was talking to but even her paths have crossed with Meher Bano & now even Shujat Jahan is being associated with her too. I am sure this puzzle of connections will become harder & harder to solve & I am for sure interested to see that happening.

Looks like Asif Jahan has invited the wrath of quite a few people around him & things are going to get tough for him as well. The appearance of Suleman Shah brought an element of surprise & shock with his arrival. Looks like Asif Jahan is incapable of taking well-thought decisions & he lacks farsightedness too because the way he won Surraya from Suleman like a barter bargain was quite immature of him. Just because Suleman Shah didn’t show up all these years, Asif Jahan assumed that he was dead but now he should fulfill his promise because if he will back out on his word, he will not only lose his credibility but will give an uprise to a lot of personal problems.

Badshah Begum as per Akhtari’s orders wants Shujat to gang up with her as she wants Shujat to take over the throne after Asif Jahan, which again is an attempt to crush Farrukh Zaad’s dream of seeing her son Taimur as a ruler. If Taimur becomes a ruler, for Badshah Begum it would mean that Farrukh Zaad will have an upper hand & just because she doesn’t want it to happen, she is forcing her son Shujat to do the heavy-lifting. It was amusing that she chose to use a random girl as a treat or reward in order to attain what she wanted from her son. Badshah Begum knows that there’s a clash of egos between her sons & she wants eradicate that, that’s why she is using Meher Bano as a pawn to bring Shujat & Asif Jahan closer. Shujat’s ego is bigger in comparison to the power he holds, that is why he found it quite insulting seeing his wish not being granted by Asif Jahan, which once again is an invitation of some sort of trouble in Asif Jahan’s way.

Overall, it was quite an interesting episode & I loved the direction & also the acting of Umair Jaswal throughout the episode. He surely has captured the attitude required to play the character of a ruler like Asif Jahan & it is interesting to see him switching his dialogue delivery & the entire attitude in different scenes & situations. It was interesting to see him acting as a commanding ruler who yelled at Suleman Shah & then in the flashback scene, as someone giving in to the temptations of getting something that was of the most value to his rival. I must say the graveyard scene was scary & it was uncomfortable for me to watch, which shows how it was a result of a powerful direction, I actually felt some shivers, haha! I am glad that no coverage was given to Shola Jaan & yes, all this while when I heard Farrukh Zaad talk about her son Taimur, i thought he must be a 10 y/o boy who has a long way to go to attain the thone but to know that Taimur is 19 years old make me feel that both Asif Jahan & Farrukh Zaad look too young to be the parents of a teenager. I know I have said it before & I will say that again, I love the strong screen presence of Jana Malik in this drama, even though she has a very limited number of scenes in each episode but she catches my eye more than Meesha Shafi. Jana Malik for sure is flawless as Shahista. I’m definitely looking forward to the next episode. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Mor Mahal.

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,

Bhai – Aur Yeh Shadi Ho Gayee! – Episodes 32 & 33

Woweeeza! Ashraf, you cunning old witch you! Okay, well not entirely cunning but whatever the reason behind him changing his mind at the time of nikkah he did promise Ifrah he would say no and she, and we believed him! We had been wondering last week if Ifrah and Ashraf will get married and although I did believe they would I had thought it would be due to Ifrah giving in to pressure from her mother and Ashraf’s father – I sure as hell did not expect her to ask Ashraf to say no and fall prey to the game that plays out!

As expected, Ashraf’s mother is not thrilled with the announcement her husband makes. She gradually changes her stance when Ashraf asks her to and when she realizes that no matter how she feels, Ifrah is once again to be her daughter in law. I have to say I really like how her husband tells her to think of Ifrah as a daughter and to treat her well.

PIC 1

Words of wisdom galore in these episodes by – Sabiha Khala and Jawad. Sabiha explains to her daughter that agar tum nay Ashraf se shaadi na ki tau ussi Ashraf ki biwi tumhein dhakay day kar iss ghar se nikal day ge. Wah wah. I would like to think Ifrah’s mother has only her daughter’s welfare at heart but well it is clear Ifrah hates Ashraf and with good reason and yet she has forced her into this nikkah with emotional blackmail and odd reasoning. Seems like she has landed herself a 2-in-1 package for Ifrah lands a husband, Sabiha khala lands herself a home. I understand these are two women alone in the world and I do not want to sound harsh and critical for I do in a way understand where she is coming from especially with that wretched Shibli still on the loose but is this really the only solution? Maybe encouraging Ifrah to bring herself out of the deep depression she is sinking further into and move from that neighbourhood to wherever they came from, work, do something!! Anyways, maybe it is the actress playing Sabiha khala as well who does not seem so convincing in her role to me that makes me feel that way.

Ashraf promises Ifrah he will say no at the time of the nikkah but asks her not to say no for it would make her look bad in front of everyone and he did not want that for her. She agrees, saying she does not want to hurt her mother. But if he doesn’t say no, she will poison herself and die. Hain? And that would not hurt her mother then? Uff! With Jawad’s words of how Ashraf’s ‘dilli khwahish’ is within reach and that Ifrah will forget her anger soon so he should go ahead with the nikah, Ashraf says yes and Ashraf and Ifrah are pronounced man and wife! Oooo la la!

PIC 2

I would have loved to see Ifrah and Ashraf’s first meeting after the nikkah. Was my initial thought. Except when I saw a month later that she is still spitting venom and crying buckets with her hair strewn all over the place – I thought ah well. Yeh he kuch hua hoga. Ashraf is shown to be wondering after the nikkah if he has made a mistake since he had promised Ifrah something and did the opposite but oh well, too late now. Ifrah is still crying and her mum is still trying to tell her how lucky she is and Ashraf’s mum is still eavesdropping on their conversations! Seriously, don’t Amma jee’s ‘gauddas’ (knees) hurt with all that clambering up and down and listening in on these mother daughter conversations?!

Ashraf has managed to buy a new house for his family – in Ifrah’s name. Ifrah comes up with a solution to her troubles – how about Ashraf leave her and her mum in this house and take the rest of his family and himself and move into the new one?! Genius! (Not). I mean, now that she is married to him and it definitely does not look like she has the option of going anywhere then maybe try to accept things and at least try to move on?

Can I please share what I think will happen now? There will be lots of Ifrah spewing venom at Ashraf and Ashraf ‘hurting’ inside and then Shibli will reappear and Ashraf will save the day – whether he dies doing so or not I do not know. But I will not be surprised if that does not happen for if there is one thing about this drama it is that it is quite unpredictable. I know Ashraf was despicable but it appears that time heals and his family seems to be accepting the change in him with even Saira being happy at his nikkah. I wonder if Ifrah will finally forgive him and grow to feel anything other than hate for him.

I loved Salman Shahid’s acting in these episodes. His joy at the new house and hearing Ashraf and Ifrah are spending time together etc was very natural and real. Noman Ijaz’s facial expressions when Ifrah tells him she hates him and wants to be left alone actually made me feel for him. But what is with these desi heroines in our dramas that smear lipstick all over their faces in distress??! I would get all worked up and anxious when our gori heroines in the angrezi movies would scream and throw and smash plates etc in anger and I would think haye, now they will have to clean all that up so what was the point?! And our desi sisters tend to scream and promptly rub bright red lipstick all over their faces till they are left looking like wild vampires on a lucky night out!! Enough!

Are you shocked that Ifrah and Ashraf got married so quickly and how the marriage actually came about? Would love to hear your thoughts!

Udaari – Episode 7

It was sad to see Sajjida ordering her daughter to stay away from a person who she had no reason to feel threatened from and putting her trust in someone who should not be trusted. The way Sajjida refused to talk about Meeran and Illyas’ relationship when Imtiaz wanted to ‘gossip’ about it went to show that deep down she still has a soft spot for these people. In a way Imtiaz told her to make sure that they had no ties with the ‘mirasis’ therefore she feels that she is saving her marriage by severing ties with Sajjida and her family. These scenes in which Sheedan and Meeran showered Zebu with love went to show that they still loved Zebu just as much as they did before. One apology can bring these friends back together but Imtiaz is making sure that never happens.

Imtiaz is gradually trying to make Zebu question the things her mother makes her do and the way she treats her because he knows that if she starts distancing herself from her mother then he will be the only ‘friend’ she will have in the house. He is constantly trying to prove that he loves her more than her mother and that she is better than her mother. Zebu is too young to understand these things and she has a pure heart therefore she never gets persuaded by his words. She has however started hiding things from her mother because she gets rewards in return for keeping these secrets which obviously implies that Imtiaz is violating this little girl in some way and he makes sure she knows that it is their ‘secret’ along with many other nice things he does for her like buying her things and taking her to places she likes.

udaari1

Sheedan’s enthusiasm and her quality to focus on the positive aspects of every situation makes her character the most amazing character in this play. She did not judge Milli or her friends but only focused on what these people had to offer. Surely, these people are very different from Sheedan and her family and friends but that did not mean they were bad people – this aspect of Sheedan’s personality won me over completely tonight. She is a strong and insightful woman just like Samina Peerzada’s character in Rehaii. She is also very confident that she can protect herself and she does not need a man by her side. Bushra Ansari is beyond brilliant as Sheedan, she owns her role completely. Her acting and dialogue delivery is impressive and spontaneous.

Arsh is educated and modern but he is very narrow-minded and immature. Unlike Sheedan he judged Meeran and her family right from the first day based on their background. Sheedan could have refused these people too because there are many things about them which might appear to be outrageous to her but Sheedan is much more wise than Arsh. Arsh was never convinced that Meeran could be part of the band and now after this meeting he did not feel the need to ‘entertain’ her. Meeran felt the exact same way about these people but Sheedan made sure she took up this assignment. Urwa Hocane was superb as Meeran in this episode but I am tired of watching Meeran sing the same song over and over again!!

udaari2

The preview of the next episode showed that Meeran and Sheedan reach Milli’s house and I hope that Arsh comes into terms with the fact that Meeran is there to stay because his nakhras are getting annoying now. The ‘ABC band’ got a lot of screen time in tonight’s episode, which was justified but their arguments got repetitive after a while.

All the actors are giving their best performances in this drama including the child star Maryam Fatima. Ahsan Khan, Sammiya Mumtaz make you forget that you are watching a drama, their portrayals are so natural and convincing. Even the actor playing Sheedan’s son’s role is doing complete justice to his character. So far the entire team of this play; the writer, the director, the producers and all the actors have done a commendable job.

Dil Lagi – Episode 10

Although our heroine blames halaat very often for all the twisted decisions she made which changed the course of her life forever but actually Anmol’s overactive imagination and an obsession with assuming things is what landed her in the position she is in today. All through tonight’s episode Anmol kept on judging Mohid and while she did that she did not of course give him even a little benefit of the doubt. Even if Mohid does something good, Anmol manages to think of at least one solid reason which will convince her and everyone around her that he is not a good person. Anmol’s character has always been bold right from the start but until she made the decision to get married to Mohid, she used this strength for the right reasons, now all Anmol does is find ways to convince herself and even Mohid that he is the most despicable person on earth!!!

This episode opened with Sabiha telling Anmol details of her married life. There was nothing new about this conversation except for the part about the ‘kasm’. Anmol is someone Sabiha can confide in and it was rather ironic to see Anmol who is anything but happy telling someone else ways to be happy!! Anmol’s ego might have been satisfied the day she decided to take revenge from Mohid by getting married to him and investing all her energy into making his life a living hell but is she really happy? Anmol also tried to prove to Sabiha that sometimes you have to be selfish to win your happiness. Anmol is stubborn, egoistic and yes at times very unreasonable but somehow I don’t see her as a selfish person.

The references to all those Indian films which Anmol mentioned made me laugh because she said exactly what might be going on in the mind of some of the viewers but she made it very clear that this story was not going to end the way these films ended. Anmol and Mohid continued to argue about everything and anything in tonight’s episode. Although Anmol is no longer my favorite character in the play but Mehwish Hayat has certainly done what was expected from her character. Every time Anmol is around Mohid, she has disgusted expressions, which pretty much sum up how she feels about Mohid. She will do anything to hurt this man with her words and actions and there isn’t anything which Mohid can do to prove that he isn’t that bad after all! Anmol is so full of hatred for this man that she fails to see anything he does in a positive light.

dl

It is so good to see a drama for a change in which the girl’s family in particular has not disappeared completely after she got married. All the characters in the play are given enough screen time in every episode which is something that should certainly be appreciated since nowadays there is a new trend of introducing the characters in the first few episodes and then completely relegating them to the background until they are needed to take the story forward. Anmol’s mother and her sister are a very important part of the story and even when they do not add to the story in any way they are given ample screen time. You are not left wondering where they went!!!! In this episode Anmol’s mother gave the same advice to her daughter which she gave in the last episode but this time she had a different tone. The reason Anmol’s mother gave for coming to meet her was touching! Good to know that there are still mothers in our dramas who we can relate to unlike Mannu’s parents who have decided to play numb all of a sudden!

The twist at the end of the episode was the most interesting part of this entire episode. Mishaal finally told Mohib the truth and the most amusing bit was that she had no idea what she had done!! The music in the background every time Mishaal and Dastagir meet and their nok jhok is always spot on! Dastagir’s character and Imran Ashraf’s acting is simply brilliant. There was a time when I thought that Dastagir was not the right match for Mishaal because she is a completely different person than him – much more groomed and educated – but now I think they look really cute together. And honestly speaking I would like to see Dastagir getting his happy ending.

I have not been able to connect to Sabiha’s character right from the beginning. Her track is repetitive and I find it really hard to feel for her. Mohid and Dastagir have to be the most interesting and likeable characters in this serial. Hamayun Saeed has managed to bring out the best in his character. I always find myself rooting for them. I am waiting to find out what Mohid will do now that he knows that Anmol had been playing games with him. Saba Hameed’s wardrobe and acting is always flawless but there are times when it is very difficult to like her character. She has a lot in common with her bahu.

Aabro – Episode 22!

Ohkay so, this episode practically had nothing to offer & I still can’t wrap my head around the fact that the parents of the toddlers & the toddlers themselves are only worried about the issue of marriage & forget the toddlers, an infant like Aima is buying diamond rings, LOL! How pathetic!

Ahmed is on the loop that he only wants to get married to Afsheen. Ali & Aabro are on the loop about how they will never get the apology they are living their life in a hope of. Zubaida is on the loop regarding Afsheen’s entrapment of Ahmed & that’s the pattern this drama is following since so many episodes, are they going to move the story forward or shall we stop watching because the message that we all were waiting for hasn’t been conveyed & the drama has turned into a brand new season of GEO’s old reality show Shadi Online!!!

Sorry, no sympathies for Ali & Aabro because they couldn’t do anything to improve their lives & their condition but the worst thing they have done is to force Afsheen to face the brunt of their shortcomings. I am certain of the fact that Ali couldn’t do anything ‘good’ & ‘proper’ in his life & the way he is playing with Afsheen’s life has confirmed the fact! I actually lol’ed when I heard Aabro say ‘tumhe isi din ke liye “””parhaya likhaya””” tha’, err, sorry ma’am passing the exams of 2nd year doesn’t make someone ‘parha likha’ in this day & age. She is just an F.Sc pass & there’s nothing out of this world about it. What infuriated me more was the conversation that Ali & Aabro had about how they knew Ali’s family will never change, so when you guys know it, why are you wasting your daughter’s life to please your cold-hearted mother? Zubaida is a negative character & there’s nothing new about it nor we can do anything about her, but sorry Ali & Aabro are no saints either because those who don’t want to help themselves are losers & they don’t deserve any sympathy.

Samra has brought her daughter to Pakistan in order to get her married to Ahmed. Chalo, Zubaida & Co. were settled in Pakistan so we can understand that they were in a rush to get the toddlers married due to the lack of exposure & typical mentality but Samra supposedly lives in Canada & even her daughter has been born & brought up there, so how come they didn’t choose to broaden their horizons & realize that Shadi wasn’t the thing one should focus on because Samra’s daughter is quite young! I can understand that Afsheen decided to leave her education since her parents stopped her from doing that, Ahmed is not interested in education & Aima is too busy dating an overly grown infant, but to see Samra’s daughter also settling for marriage at such a young age is ridiculous!

WOW! I must say I am impressed because Aima ke nikkay (chote) se boyfriend ne SPAYYSHILLY (specially) Aima ke liye DEMOND ring li hai. I actually couldn’t concentrate on anything after that scene as I became too busy in learning a new & improved pronunciation of the word specially. SPAYSHILLY is the new cool, so thank you baby boyfriend for teaching us something new!

I am not even furious, not even disgusted, I am just numb that a mother like Aabro who raised her daughter with a very nice & different mindset could reduce to this level of barbarianism, because from not accepting the proposal knowing that it was a mismatch she resorted to mindless hitting because she wanted her daughter to sit & wear the ring of the larka who should’ve been referred to as admi throughout the episode. What’s with the sudden flip & switch? I am amazed that just because Aabro was worried that Zubaida will become angry (as if otherwise she’s always in a good mood), she forced Afsheen to go ahead with what her Daadi chose for her.

Anyways, this drama has lost all its charm & I don’t see them redeeming themselves in any way because this story is not about Aabro & Ali anymore, it has become a version of a morning show which is filled with paid actors who are made to fight over petty issues (marriage in this case) brainlessly. The writer had a chance to show something different & show the power of education but nope, this drama has become a perfect example of how the producers make the mostttt (money) out of someone’s misery. Aabro’s never-ending helplessness & Zubaida’s continuously blown nostrils were earning them enough ratings therefore they knew they had a perfect formula to generate the revenue & this is why, they have thrown the quotient of conveying a good message & have made it completely typical which isn’t appeasing to watch anymore. Can someone please tell me when this drama is ending because to see the toddlers arranging their marriages, without worrying about their education isn’t sparking much interest & is making me nauseous! I must say, something is seriously wrong with HUM TV & it is utterly disappointing that they have ruined the credibility of the writer like Umera Ahmed & I must say I am in a disbelief that her name is associated with a play like this! Anyways, please feel free to vent out!

Fatima Effendi and Kanwar Arsalan are one of the youngest star couples of Pakistani television industry. Their marriage is purely a love marriage which was the result of a long friendship before they finally decided to get married. Fatima shared in one of her interviews that she and Kanwar used to talk on the phone for hours and meet almost every second day and that is when they got really close to one another.

There was however no commitment between the two. Fatima said that she started getting uncomfortable with this “just friends” status and that is when she asked Kanwar to make a choice, either he would have to stop meeting and talking to her altogether or make a commitment. Kanwar wasn’t ready to commit himself at that time. That is when both these stars stopped talking and after an interval of only few weeks Kanwar realized that he could not live without Fatima.

The story of their marriage and the problems that were faced by this young couple when Fatima was expecting her first baby prove that when two people are meant to be together the universe conspires to ensure that they stay together.

Sehra Main Party Poopers – Episode 21!

Ohkay so, this entire episode was dedicated to Ayaaz, his insecurities & his jealousy. Honestly speaking, I would’ve gone easy on them in my review if it would’ve been the last episode because the note at which this episode ended seemed alright & they could’ve finished the drama off then & there but the preview of the next episode infuriated me & nope, there’s no scope of forgiveness left now because when they can show what they want to, then I can also say what I want to!

So, Ayaaz became the ultimate party-pooper because he was so insecure & jealous. Ayaaz wanted his Iqra back & he felt he lost his wife & his bachon ki amman because she was doing a job? I actually thought that he was joking but to add to my woes, he wasn’t. I actually couldn’t believe how much negativity was filled inside this so-called sugar syrup Ayaaz & I fail to give him a leeway that just because he felt useless, he became bitter. Accha, let me ask, who was the Iqra that Ayaaz was missing & wanted back in his life? That Iqra who would listen to her husband’s rants about how expensive the pampers have become or that Iqra who would always be tensed regarding how they will make the ends meet since Ayaaz was too happy with his scooty & wanted to escape his responsibilities of upgrading his income, despite knowing that it was he who upgraded the size of his family.

The initial part of the episode left me feeling disgusted because I couldn’t wrap my head around the fact that in stead of breaking the stereotypes, the writer was feeding them to the the viewers even more. I know things got sorted in the end but that too only when Ayaaz fell in a deep pit. In stead of focusing on his burnt slice, when he had the time, Ayaaz should’ve sat down & should’ve analyzed how Iqra was doing everything to help her entire family. Ayaaz couldn’t congratulate Iqra for her car without taunting her about how she achieved everything only for herself. I was actually put off by the dialogues that were given to Ayaaz because a lot of time was given to the grocery items in this drama, so I so was not in a mood to find out the charges of the local plumbers or the prices of the kids’ toys.

Ayaaz couldn’t do anything in his life because he was too happy with how everything was & he didn’t want to step out of his comfort zone, at the expense of making the rest of his family members suffocated because of his incapabilities. All this while, we had only heard that Ayaaz wanted to ‘do’ something, he wanted to ‘give’ Iqra what she deserved but why was it that we didn’t see him ‘doing’ anything that he ‘said’? Looks like Ayaaz believed in theory more than practicality that is why it was easier for him to be wishful rather than moving a muscle to achieve what his family needed & wished for.

Well, Iqra’s boss told her that he will give her a week to sort her family issues but I guess in other words he was saying ‘ke app is 1 haftay mai dua karain ke appke husband phislain takay unki band aqal ke taalay khulain’ & voila, this is exactly what happened, Ayaaz injured himself & when he went from being partially useless to completely useless, he understood that he was wrong, how convenient isn’t it? Accha, let’s suppose that if that red van hadn’t hit Ayaaz, would anything in him or his personality had changed? I don’t think so! Why was it that when Ayaaz hit the rock bottom, he then realized that he was being selfish? Like wasn’t there a built-in switch of soul searching or self-realization in a selfless man like him? Well, even though we didn’t see who he was but I will have to thank the driver of the red van because he will remain the “unsung hero” of this drama because if it wasn’t for his negligent driving, Iqra’s life would’ve never changed & her husband would’ve always remained a party-pooper!

Well, everything was rosy posy at the end & I was happy for Iqra that she achieved what she wanted to, even got the car that initially became the bone of contention between her & her husband but the preview infuriated me so much. I guess this drama was about Iqra, so how in the world did the writer assume that we’d be thrilled to see how her kids turned out to be? Sorry, we’re not INTERESTED & chalo if the writer had shown her kids to be appreciative of what their mother did for them, it would’ve made sense but I guess the villains of this dramas get a lot of screen-time & keep on replacing each other that too for no purpose whatsoever. Now it is Ayaaz’s son, who definitely has inherited that unrequired ‘ghairatmandi’ from his father & will now make his mother realize that she wasted her life because she didn’t make the anday parathay ka nashta for his father herself & that according to Iqra’s son is a big no no, that is why even he is on a hunt to find a maid/wife who will take care of his & his parent’s anday parahtay ka nashta. Seriously, I think the note at which this episode ended was enough to conclude the the entire drama but not sure what made the writer think that we’re in a mood to see another short-lived villain, who will fall flat on his face like all the previous villains who made an appearance starting from Iqra’s mother, to Shehryaar, to Annie, to Nuzhat, to Ayaaz & now their son? LOL! Anyways, please share your thoughts about this episode of Sehra Main Party-Poopers!

The sitcom Bulbulay started airing in October 2009 on ARY Digital. At that time no one knew that this sitcom will gain so much popularity. The characters and the comic scenarios shown in every episode bring the viewers closer to the Bulbulay family with every passing week. The sitcom is so popular that all the actors are now more well known with the names they have in this comedy series.

11

Hina Dilpazeer’s Momo and Ayesha Omar’s Khoobsurat are the two most popular characters of the play.

13

The Bulbulay team came to Nida Yasir’s Morning Show to celebrate 400th episode of the sitcom. The team shared many things about their 7 years of working together. Ayesha Omar said,

14

Ayesha Omar also shared that she tried many times to leave the show but every time she came back.  Nabeel said,

“We keep on giving each other a push whenever it is needed, that is why Bulbulay completed so many episodes.”

Tum Meri Ho – Episode 1-3

Produced by Aijaz Aslam, directed by Najaf Bilgrami and written by Samina Ejaz, Tum Meri Ho airs every Tuesday at 9:00 p.m. Before watching any drama on ARY, I make it a point to check the name of the production house because I plan on steering clear of anything even remotely related to Big Bang Entertainment. I was happy to see that this play is not a Big Bang production, but the only thing that scares me is that the writer of this play has Dusri Biwi to her credit. Dusri Biwi was… you’re right, let’s not even go there.

In Tum Meri Ho, we follow our main protagonist Zayan (Faisal Qureshi), who lives with his elder brother, Mustafa (Aijaz Aslam) and mother, Rabia (Azra Mansoor). Before going on about what really happens, I think it is important to dissect Zayan’s character first, because this drama is essentially about Zayan’s obsession and how he goes to great lengths to get what he wants. Having suffered verbal and physical abuse at the hands of his late father, Zayan’s had a nightmare of a childhood. What you experience during your formative years stays with you for the rest of your life. It is true that people who were abused as children are more likely to suffer from low self esteem. Years of abuse and hurtful comparisons between Zayan and his elder brother had a great impact on Zayan’s sense of self-worth. Zayan has confidence issues because of which he’s developed a stutter. Mustafa, on the other hand, has always been the pride of the family. While Zayan kind of blended in the background, it was Mustafa who got all the love and attention. Much to my pleasant surprise, Mustafa didn’t turn out to be a spoiled brat. He is a doting brother, and it was nice to see that Mustafa not only cares about his brother but also understands his insecurities. Zayan works at a university, and in spite of Mustafa’s insistence, he refuses to join the family business and is content with his job.

Then of course, there’s a girl (let’s get real, the story can’t progress without one :P). Ana (Sara Khan), our quintessential mashriqi girl sets foot in the university Zayan works at, and no points for guessing that she sweeps him off his feet!  This is a case of love at first sight and I could go on and on about how I am sick and tired of this trope, but I have given up now, there’s nothing we can do about it. Unfortunately for Zayan, Ana doesn’t feel the same way about him.

BeFunky Collage

Ana lives with her mother (Nida Mumtaz), Bhai (Amir Qureshi) and Bhabi (Zainab Qayyum). I found Ana and Bhabi’s relationship to be sweet and natural so I enjoyed watching their scenes. Rabia wants Mustafa to marry a girl of her choice and so begins the search for the perfect bahu. And out of all the girls in Karachi, guess who Rabia deems fit for her big boy? Wait for it… Ana! Also, I should add, Ana and Mustafa are genuinely happy with this rishta. Devastated and resentful, Zayan vows to destroy his brother’s life. He hires a guy to shoot Mustafa on the night of the wedding. And at this point, we know that the shot didn’t prove fatal (much to Zayan’s dismay) but it did leave Mustafa paralyzed.

I don’t like how writers take things to the extreme and that’s pretty much the case here because only a sociopath would think of killing his brother for a girl, but the way I see it, this wasn’t just about Ana. I think all these years, Zayan always secretly resented Mustafa for being the favourite of the family and seeing Ana with Mustafa was the last straw. What Zayan did is awful and unforgivable, but I have to admit, I feel for him. I feel for Zayan NOT because I was rooting for him and Ana. Quite frankly, I was not rooting for them because Zayan’s obsession with Ana is not healthy – the guy takes pictures of her when she’s not looking! I feel for him only and only because he is mentally unstable and needs help. Zayan’s attempt to get his brother killed was a product of pent-up frustration and rage.  He has viewed Mustafa as his rival since he was a kid. Mustafa is not the person to blame but Zayan doesn’t get that because, again, the point is, he is sick and needs help. It’s impossible to talk about Zayan and not talk about Faisal Qureshi’s phenomenal acting. Everything from his expressions to the way he talks and walks tells you that he understands his character – the guy nails it! The rest of the actors are also very convincing. I really like Sara Khan and she looks beautiful here. I love her smile but the way things are turning out, smile tou rehne dain, she is and will be crying a great deal.

There are a few things I couldn’t digest. First off, how does a guy like Zayan manage to hire a shooter? And I get that everyone is worried sick about Mustafa, but now that he is conscious, they should approach the police to investigate into the matter. I mean, Mustafa was shot (and this happened when Karachi kay halaat kharaab nahe thay) so the big question everybody should be asking is: who could have possibly wanted Mustafa dead?

Tum Meri Ho isn’t exactly groundbreaking but I certainly appreciate the fact that we can see why a character is so negative and bitter because I for one can’t seem to recall the last time I watched a drama where I could say, “Achaaa so that’s why he’s got a screw lose’’. That’s a problem with most negative characters we see on screen – they are twisted but it’s never established what made them that way. Praise where praise is due – Tum Meri Ho manages to establish that.

I am interested to see how the story progresses now. This Kulsoom woman is mentioned often but she has yet to make an appearance and I think she (or her daughter) might have something to do with future developments. What do you think? How many of you are following this drama? What do you think of it?

Thank you for reading the review!

Tum Yaad Aye – Episode 16

So you know how on Facebook there is this relationship status ‘It’s complicated’ ? Well, I would wonder what that really means and wrote it off as an ‘attention seeking’ status. But nahin, this drama has enlightened me! Zainy loves Ahmer, then wants him dead and then pines for him, then hits him, then screams I hate you, then gets engaged to another, then remembers Ahmer loves mithai so must deliver mithai ! Ahmer – seemed to love Zainy, is in love with Beena, thinks about Zainy, chases after Beena. He does not give Zainy any ghaas and Beena does not give Ahmer any ghaas. Moral: got to be a bit more generous about giving ghaas and life would be less complicated! Uggh!

Mehtaab is happy that her daughter will finally be ‘apnay ghar ki’. That line has been used in many a script but never has it been more apt than in this case for Zainy really will end up in her very own home again. Nigaar Apa has returned for the wedding celebrations and seems to be genuinely happy over this rishta. I suppose for her, Sherry’s happiness is the most important and if this is what he wants then Nigaar is happy for him. I did begin to get that claustrophobic feeling again that I got in the earlier episodes with Nigaar referring to Baji as Sherry’s saas and then Zainy being Abba’s bahu now instead of daughter. Oh well!

Anyways, whether Zainy did feel like she did not truly belong to Abba’s family or not is one matter but her friend Novera sure as hell does keep harping on about how yeh laug are so great, so generous to accept Zainy ‘despite everything’. The yeh laug keeps coming up as if they are separate from Zainy and not her family. It appears that Nigaar knows nothing of Zainy’s love for Ahmer and her suicide attempt and probably Novera will end up blurting it out which she almost did.

So our conspiracy theory over Phuppo’s motives fell flat. She genuinely does care for Zainy and wanted to connect with her dead brother’s child. We learn from Taayi and Phuppo’s conversation that Ahmer not only resembles Zainy’s father but also has his nature, specifically the trait of making sure he does what he wants and then not being happy about it. Makes me wonder if he married Mehtaab against his family’s wishes or that he genuinely wanted to marry her and then later was not faithful to her or happy with her. Wish Mehtaab would spill the beans already. All that emphasis on how she has given her all to build this new life for herself and Zainy may have more of an impact if she gave a bit more insight into her past – or maybe not.

PIC1

Zainy seemed to be happy about her engagement to Sherry. But I did feel a bit sympathetic when she voices her uncertainties to Mehtaab about how she is being unfair to Sherry and Mehtaab shushes her. Zainy has been bullied into this rishta and true Mehtaab, Naani and Abba think they are doing what is best for her but Zainy is clearly still in love with Ahmer and for now is going along with this marriage for her mother’s sake. Having said that though, I am disgusted with her behaviour when she goes to Ahmer’s house with the mithai and the ‘Ahmer ko zaroor khilaye ga, ussay meetha boht pasand hai’. If she has accepted to marry Sherry then why not do everyone and mostly herself a favour and stay away from Ahmer and Co.

Seems like that is not going to happen. Despite her plea to Novera to pray that ‘Ahmer ka naam meray dil se mitt jaye’ (yawn, puke!), seems like the name was tattooed rather than just written for Ahmer’s accident clearly distresses Zainy. She lies to Sherry about why she is upset which he finds out later when he sees Mina at the hospital. He does confront Zainy but lets her off with this being the first and last lie between them. Ah Sherry, I fear there is a lot more than little white lies coming your way and most of it not nice!

As with the previous episodes, all the actors and actresses played out their characters flawlessly. Erum Akhtar as Nigaar is brilliant and even though she seems to mean well at this point, she does seem like a bomb ticking and waiting to explode. Next week’s episode preview shows that Novera and her mum have jinxed everything with Ahmer regaining consciousness and maybe the same tattoo artist got to his heart too for he has now decided Zainy is his and he loves her. All I can say is marry these two confused brats off to each other already and Sherry, my condolences!

How many of you are beginning to get exasperated with Zainy and Ahmer? Would love to hear your thoughts.

Deewana – Episode 03 & 04!

Ohkay so, these two episodes of Deewana were great & a treat to watch. I am actually liking the mysterious feel of this drama a lot & with an introduction of new characters, it has multiplied even more. I like the treatment that the director has given to this drama because he has perfectly conveyed the feel that they were aiming for. For now, this drama looks quite promising & it seems that it has a lot of potential to become a perfect entertainment. After Muqaddas I wish the writer has gained enough experience to know when to end a drama & how to give it a complete ending because even though Muqaddas was quite an interesting journey, the stretching & an incomplete ending couldn’t make it a memorable drama, however I do have high expectations from Deewana & I hope that they make it a drama that we all will remember.

So, seems like Haris & Mehru got married & unwillingly at the night of their wedding, Haris left her in the lurch because that’s the promise he made to his father. Tabrez came up with this plan of bringing a bad name to Subhan’s family by targeting their daughter as till date Tabrez & his wife Amtul (Farah Shah) believe that it was Mehru who shot Rabeea & they aren’t ready to accept the fact that Rabeea committed suicide. For Tabrez & Amtul, the court’s verdict wasn’t in their favor, that is why they decided to punish Mehru & her entire family by doing something so horrendous to her. They have in short destroyed her life by getting her married to Haris & making their son leave her as now she will have nowhere to go & nowhere to hide, which is quite evil. Deep inside, Haris knows that what he has done is wrong & Mehru doesn’t deserve any of this but the forlorn faces of his parents leave him helpless & doesn’t allow him to state what he actually thinks is right or wrong.

Collage 01

Amtul decided to send her cousin Shabnam (Fazeela Qazi) to Mehru’s home after Haris left Mehru, just so that she could fetch some details & add more fuel to the fire. It is sad that now when Amtul & Tabrez have completed their revenge, they still aren’t backing off & still believe that they have some score left to be settled & that is why Shabnam was the pawn they used to further insult them. Even though I love the dialogues & the proper usage of Urdu throughout the episodes, I found the conversation between Shama & Shabnam a bit misleading & confusing. Shabnam came to congratulate Shama for Haris & Mehru’s wedding, but the very next moment she implied that Mehru ran away with Haris to which Shama replied by saying that Mehru can never do such a thing because her daughter ‘would definitely wait till her parents had arranged her Rukhsati‘? So I am not sure what was happening there because going by what Shama said, it looked like they didn’t arrange Mehru’s wedding yet but if I look at the events that took place & the things Mehru said while showing her bridal dress to her parents went to show that she was getting married to Haris the next day. I think it was a mistake in the dialogues or a glitch that the director didn’t pay attention to because considering how Shabnam’s visit was an important aspect of these episodes, it wasn’t written properly & got me confused. Also, the fact that Mehru hallucinates doesn’t help the situation either as most of the times I am left wondering if the one she is talking to is actually in front of her or not, hehe!

Collage 02

Anyways, lets talk about the hero of the drama; Falak. What an entry, what an impactful performance & character. I enjoyed his bits the most. I know for some people Falak’s character will be more of a caricature but I liked the unrealistic aura of his entire character. At least it gives us something different to watch & it happens to be something that we’re not used to. So for now I really like his character & not only Falak, his entire family seems interesting & pleasantly mysterious too. Falak bumped into Mehru when she was looking for Haris & he being a Good Samaritan, decided to take Mehru to his home which was the idea that wasn’t appreciated by his mother (Hina Bayat). The conversation between Falak & his mother was quite interesting as the things she said implied that she was more concerned about Falak coming in contact with someone who is different to them. She has definitely put a lot of restrictions on him because she knows that his kindheartedness can land him in deep trouble & also because he has an identity to hide. I like how they didn’t give away everything yet & built the curiosity perfectly as I am sure there’s so much more that we have yet to explore especially the fact about who they are & what makes them different.

Falak decided to drop Mehru to her home & he did at the wrong time in front of a wrong person; Shabnam. I loved the expressions & gestures both Shabnam & Falak shared, it was so obvious that Shabnam was taken aback by Falak’s personality & looks, that’s why she was curious to find out more about him. It was good to see that Shama didn’t make a fuss about why a young & good looking man like Falak was bringing Mehru home, it went to show that she trusted her daughter & knew that her daughter must’ve went out to find her husband Haris. Well, looks like Falak has fallen for Mehru & more than that, he is worried that she doesn’t smile more often, she is sad & he feels it is his duty to make her happy. Falak’s mother will never approve of the idea & that is why she told Falak’s cousin Shams to keep an eye on him as she dreads that he might mingle with Mehru & might end up putting himself in danger. Another name that was mentioned was of Agha, which actually changed the atmosphere & looked like he was someone that Falak is afraid of, looks like we’ll have to wait for his entry now but it won’t be too long considering how Falak is not taking the boundaries set by his mother seriously, so may be an it will compel Agha to take an action against Falak.

Collage 03

Honestly speaking, I was actually dreading seeing Mehru regaining her consciousness because I was afraid that we’ll get to see more screaming & crying but that thing was covered flawlessly by Shama. I wish they all are past the yelling & crying stage because it tends to get a bit too much for the viewers to handle. However, I must add that I feel a lot for Shama as she has literally lost everything. It was good to see that Mehru came to terms with her misfortune quietly & I am sure with Falak in her sights, it won’t be too long when she will completely forget about what Haris did to her. Oh Farah Shah, why you do this to us? We aren’t done hating your character of Zubaida in Aabro & here you are, with another negative character. Even though I am a huge fan of Farah Shah & have always loved her acting, but I am not sure if I’ll be able to handle the dose of her negativity thrice a week or not as Deewana airs twice, hehe!

Well, I loved the get up that the stylists chose for all the characters of Falak’s family. They are playing the characters that we aren’t used to watching but I still feel nothing went over-board & there was nothing about them that was OTT. They all seemed perfectly normal with a little quirky twist to their personalities & characters, which is quite interesting in my opinion. I wish to see Mehru bouncing back immediately & I also wish that there comes a time when Mehru punishes Haris for what he has done & also for being a loser. I am sure Haris will come back to Mehru time & again & will unsettle her emotionally & I am dreading this but I have a feeling that Mehru might forgive him & also consider going back to him, believing that he is apologetic but I hope it doesn’t happen as I wish to see a girl who knows how to walk out of a relationship with a guy who has shattered her trust time & again.

Shehroz Sabzwari acted brilliantly as Falak & I am looking forward to see what more his character has to offer. With characters like these, there’s always a fine line between under & over performing but Shehroz Sabzwari gave Falak’s character a perfecttt treatment & made his bits a treat to watch. I am thankful to Iqra Aziz for not crying too much but yes, she did scream a little which he got punished for, which is ohkay! Overall, the direction, the screenplay & the editing was great. My favorite scene has to be when Falak & Mehru came across each other for the first time, it was filmy & also visually appeasing, which I loved! I like the dialogues too & I think all the writers have really upped their game when it comes to dialogue writing, which is great. The background music was nice to listen to as it wasn’t too dramatic & I am glad that they haven’t over-used the OST. This is for the first time that I’m seeing Fazeela Qazi playing such a character & I must say I was giggling throughout her scenes, especially when she was filling her bag with the biskoots LOL, she’s cute & the flower in her hair added more cuteness to her overall look! I thoroughly enjoyed watching these two episodes of Deewana & I am sure you guys did too, so please without a further ado, feel free to share your thoughts. :)

Mein Sitara – Episode 10

Very interesting!!! All the characters in the play are no longer the flawless people we saw on screen in the first 8 episodes and unlike the last time I enjoyed watching these changes in the characters. There are very few plays in which when characters change for the worse you have reasons to appreciate these changes because it only makes things more interesting. Sitara falling for Farhad was actually a nice twist in the story instead of Farhad pursuing her.

Farhad was like a mystery to Sitara all her life although she spent most years of her life living under the same roof with him but he never acknowledged her presence. Now that Farhad is not only acknowledging her presence but also being possessive about her Sitara finds him more attractive than ever. She has attained the unattainable and it only takes a person with a very strong character to resist such a temptation. Sitara proved today that she wasn’t a strong person, she is very vulnerable and she has forgotten all the promises she made to her Baji. I honestly felt that I would hate everything about such a track but honestly speaking the way everything was shown was very convincing and it is interesting to watch Sitara proving that she really is her father’s daughter! Although she vowed to prove otherwise but some things are beyond your control!

ms3

Sitara’s character got a lot more appealing with this episode because there can be so many different reasons why she fell for Farhad and not Jamal. Is it because she never had a father figure in her life – someone who would want to protect her? This is the first time Farhad has fallen for one of his heroines and obviously his reasons might not be as deep rooted as that of Sitara. Sitara is young, pretty and talented and she made it quite obvious today that she too feels something for Farhad. I am waiting to find out how Sitara interacts with Jharna in the upcoming episodes. There wasn’t a single scene between Sitara and Jharna in tonight’s episode because Sitara is too busy on the sets and it is always easier to forget promises when someone is not there to remind you of them! Sitara it looks like is already lost in the world of films and she has left Surraya far behind. I absolutely love Pappu’s character; he has a small role to play in the story but somehow he is standing out already. The perfect and effortless performance given by Adnan Shah Tipu has made all the difference.

I think it is time to say goodbye to the strong and sensible Jharna we saw in the first few episodes for good. Her character was very impressive and very well-balanced but now she is an insecure wife who feels left out all the time! There was a time when Jharna was too busy having and raising kids. She used to be too tired to wait up for her husband or give him the time and attention he wanted but even then she was always a positive influence in his life. She always supported him even when people doubted him, now that he is where he wants to be she has tons of free time on her hands and is worried sick that he will fall for one of his heroines. I still remember the few conversations between different people which hinted that Farhad married Jharna because he had some vested interests but until now Farhad was faithful to her. This new development with Sitara however might prove to be the final nail in the coffin. It would be nice to see Jharna tackling her insecurities in some other way instead of complaining all the time. Now that she has a reason to doubt her husband, her character might seem more ‘reasonable’ in the next episode.

ms1

Nasim Dil Ruba is not out of the picture, which is also a nice surprise. She has not managed to bag any quality projects therefore she was seen employing different methods to get Sitara out of the film so that she could be a part of it again. This was another development in tonight’s episode which gave a very realistic touch to the whole story.

This episode was beautifully directed and I found the latest developments in the story exciting which is not how I was thinking I would feel! The credit for that goes to the writer for penning down such interesting characters which are human, the director, for doing complete justice to every single scene and most certainly the actors for giving some remarkable performances. Saba Qamar is amazing as Sitara, Hassan Ahmed and Meera are picture perfect in every scene. There were times in tonight’s episode when I thought Mikaal Zulfiqar’s performance was not up to the mark but on the whole he has given a brilliant performance. Those people who don’t get to watch this drama on the television are missing out on the experience because watching Mein Sitara on the television screen is a completely different experience. I would give full marks to the stylist and the make-up artist for giving everyone the perfect looks.

Quite contrary to my expectations, I loved this latest episode and can’t wait to see what happens next!! I am sure there are many people out there who are very disappointed with Sitara but honestly speaking if Sitara did not get involved with Farhad the drama wouldn’t have been this exciting!

“A Bride Should Only Wear Red” – HSY

0

Hassan Sheheryar Yasin who is more well known as HSY is a very famous designer who is not only known for his dress designs but also for his own distinguished style. HSY and his mother were interviewed by Sanam Jung on her show. HSY shared what an important role his mother – who was a single parent had played in his life. It was because of the support of his mother and sister that he managed to get this far.

10
HSY with his sister and mother.

HSY talked about many things about his life, his personality and his career in the show. When Sanam Jung asked him which color should a girl wearing on her wedding day. To this replied,

“Girls should only wear red color on their wedding day. Red looks the best on our girls, on our brides, it is in line with our culture and looks good with our skin tone. Many people say that red color is not part of our cultural wedding but I believe people go to weddings only to look at the bride. It is her day and she deserves to look like a princess. The look that red color can give, no other color can give.”

11

He also added,

“Girls nowadays think they will look fabulous in light colors but they have to realize they are not going to Oscars, they don’t have to copy Bollywood. Red is the color of our cultural wedding and it looks outstanding. This is something I am very emotional about.”

Talking about how seriously he took red color for brides, he said,

“I am not trying to make anyone feel bad about what they design but for me red is the only color for the main event of the wedding. I try to convince brides a little that they should wear red when they come to me but there is only so much I can say to convince them because in the end it is their choice. Wedding is a moment of happiness and bright colors reflect happy moments.”

HSY

HSY also had an interesting suggestion for all the other family members. He said,

“I would also like to say that close relatives (girls) should not dress up thinking that they are in competition with the bride. It is the bride’s day, let her shine, don’t try to take the attention off of her by wearing similar colors and even outfits.”

“Mahira Khan Is My “Ganga” – Sarmad Khoosat

0

Sarmad Khoosat and Mahira Khan are much more than just two talented individuals who have worked together on 3 major projects. Hamsafar, Shehr-e-Zaat and Manto are 3 projects these people have worked on together with total dedication. The relationship between these two people goes much deeper than just that of a director and an actor. Mahira Khan and Sarmad Khoosat both admire each other and are really good friends who share the love of art.

16

Mahira Khan was chosen by Hello! Pakistan to grace the cover of their May issue which is also their 50th issue so it is very important. Mahira Khan talked about her career, her meeting with Shah Rukh Khan, how it was like working with him and much more in her interview with the magazine.

12

Sarmad Sultan Khoosat was also asked to say a few words about Mahira Khan and here is what he said about her,

“Working with Mahira is like falling in love all over again – with the idea of collaborating with an actor and strengthening of one’s belief in being able to bring a story to life. Her strength is being so purely vulnerable and malleable as an actor. She is my ‘Ganga’. “

10

Mahira Khan also shared that she has worked very hard to be where she is today and she has met some wonderful people on the way. There is a lot more which this young actress wants to achieve.

Tum Kon Piya – Episode 9

This had to be the most clichéd episode of Tum Kon Piya. The problems faced by Elma in her new house were quite predictable with the exception of Arif’s behaviour which was a little too outrageous. Arif is clearly jealous of his brother and he knows only too well that his mother is insecure. He knows that deep inside Sharafat begum is fearful that Zarbab might get closer to his wife – a very typical insecurity which is actually quite common in our society! Everything that Arif says does have an effect on Sharafat begum especially because she can see that Zarbab genuinely likes his new wife. It was good to see Zarbab giving Elma the kind of welcome she deserved. Like any other seedhi sadhi mashraqi lrki Elma has decided to move on. She is married now and she wants to make this marriage work. Zarbab was always a coward, that is something which won’t change overnight.

So far I had no trouble relating to the different scenarios in this drama but tonight everything that happened with Elma on her first day in her new house did not make me feel for her at all! Elma’s sister’s behaviour was annoying to say the least. They shouldn’t have burdened their father by crying in front of him because there is absolutely nothing he can do now. Also, announcing that Aapi was making the kheer in front of him was very childish. Even if Elma is expected to run the kitchen in that house, it shouldn’t come as a big surprise to any of her sisters since she always did everything when she was in her father’s house. Last but not the least how did these two manage to make such a lavish breakfast!! Now that really was a surprise!

tkp

The only person I felt for tonight was Ramish. It looks like Elma is much stronger and she will be able to cope with this situation but Ramish is heartbroken now because the only person he ever loved is someone’s wife. The scene in the hospital was shot really well, these two did not even look at each other, which was definitely very realistic. It was almost as if they never shared all those moments and feelings.

Muzaffar Hassan continued to be as stubborn as before. While Ramish’s mother was concerned about her son, her father was very sure that he will be able to have his own way. Although Muzaffar’s character is clichéd to the core – a business tycoon with a heart of stone! But even then I think Mehmood Akhtar has done complete justice to his character. It is great to see him in so many serials nowadays. He was equally convincing as a caring and sensitive father figure in Gul-e-Rana although his character stopped making sense after a while.

tkp2

Like all the previous episodes of Tum Kon Piya, this one too was a visual treat. Every single shot was flawless and beautifully captured. The director has managed to make the sets look pleasing without making them too grand. The susral ki politics however had to be the biggest off-putting factor in tonight’s episode. Sharafat begum’s character is one-dimensional; right from the beginning we have only seen one side of her character, the side which wants to control. It would have been nice if there was more to her character since we will be seeing a lot of her.

The preview of the next episode suggested that Muzaffar Hassan’s heart attack will prove to be a game changer. This new development will certainly change Ramish’s decision and he will end up marrying Sunbal.

Besharam – Episode 02!

Ohkay so, this episode of Besharam was great & I enjoyed watching it because it gave us an insight into all the characters & their past. The editing was spot on & it kept my interest alive in the episode right from the beginning till the end. I must say the director & the editors have teamed up nicely & have given Besharam a treatment which makes it a good experience for those who’re watching.

Mishal’s mother Sara has quite a colorful past & she is not ashamed of it. Seems like it is because of a mother like Sara that Mishal has set certain rules & boundaries for herself because this is exactly what her mother’s failed marriages & lack of emotional strength has taught her. Mishal is quite young but she is far more sorted in her mind & has a clear picture of what she should & what she shouldn’t do. Sara & Tahir are still quite bitter with each other because seems like they both went through an ugly divorce & they haven’t overcome the negative feelings they both garnered in their hearts. It was sad that Mishal had to go through such tough circumstances at such a young age because her parents especially her mother was immature & Mishal was never her father’s priority. It was amusing to see that Tahir thought that just having a tag of being Mishal’s biological father was enough for him to take charge of her future & that is why he thought she will happily follow his orders & get married to his nephew Kashif like an obedient daughter. The question that Mishal asked Tahir left him speechless & rightly so because when he didn’t have enough courtesy in him to take care of Mishal when she needed him the most, how can he expect that Mishal will accept his decision regarding the most important thing in her life that too at such a stage of her life where she has become independent & is doing exceptionally well for herself.

Haider’s personality & attitude caught the attention of Asfand Sultan, who happens to be a resourceful bureaucrat. For now Asfand does seem like a person who has a lot of respect for the law & order & he doesn’t believe in exploiting it just because he is at a position where he can mend the rules & play with the law, not sure if that will change but right now this is exactly the perspective that Haider endorses too. I am not sure what the future holds for Haider when he will join Asfand’s political party but if their mindsets & policies will match, they will become a formidable duo.

I liked how they showed us the relationship that Humna & Qadeer share & what sort of a personality Qadeer has. I am sure the detest Sikandar has for Haider will never allow Humna & Qadeer to have a normal relationship with each other. The way Qadeer becomes speechless in front of his parents goes to show that he is the sort of a person who will never be able to take a stand for Humna & won’t be able to support her emotionally & sadly, if things will become rocky after their marriage, it will be Haider who will sign up to show some support to his sister Humna. In Qadeer’s comparison, Humna is quite an opinionated person & doesn’t mind holding back her point of view especially when it comes to her brother Haider. Humna has been shown defending Haider time & again in front of Sikandar & Qadeer too but I am sure, the way Sikandar looks down upon Haider & his family, things won’t be easier for Humna when she will get married to Qadeer. However, the moment Sikandar & Qadeer found out about Haider being in contact with Asfand did fluster them a little bit, because they never imagined that Haider, who they think of as a lowlife goon, can be acquainted with such a powerful man like Asfand, so not sure if that will make them change their attitude towards Haider & his family because as far as I can deduce, Sikandar is quite an opportunist, so he might not do anything to upset Haider as that will multiply his chances of getting in contact with Asfand Sultan too.

Ohkay, honestly speaking, I didn’t find the blooming relationship between Mishal & Daniyal a tad bit convincing. He shows up out of nowhere, confesses his feelings, shows up the second time & BAM! They both start dating. Mishal has been in such a field where getting this level of attention from males is a normal thing & I am sure that being a top model, Daniyal is not the first person who has told her that he can’t live without her. I wish they had taken at least a couple of episodes to show how Daniyal convinced Mishal that the love he had for her was true & how after getting convinced properly, Mishal started taking Daniyal seriously. The things Daniyal said about Mishal also suggested that she has a clean slate & has always been quite cautious about her image because she might be a model but she is far more conservative & rooted for that matter so to see her falling for Daniyal without a further a due wasn’t convincing at all. Also, the way Mishal told Sara that she wouldn’t do the things she has done in her life goes to show that Mishal has been quite careful all her life, so to see her falling for Daniyal immediately doesn’t make much sense to be honest. Yes, she is tired & yes she yearns for a companionship, she also longs for an emotional support as she has kept herself strong for so many years but I don’t think a girl like Mishal who works in such a field where she gets to interact with all sorts of people can be so naive to not be able to see through the true intentions of Daniyal.

The note at which the episode ended was quite filmy. I think before putting her foot on the accelerator, she should’ve questioned herself as to what was it about Daniyal that was forcing her to go to such lengths to prove her love for him. Also, she should’ve done some analysis as to why would a guy who says he loves her would put her & her love through such a test? With that being said, I must say I enjoyed watching the performances of all the actors throughout the episode. There’s a great chemistry between all the actors & that is why they make their relationships & their circumstances look believable & realistic. Atiqa Odho has added this amusing yet innocent charm to the character of Sara & I believe no one could’ve done a better job in a portrayal of a woman in her late 40’s who’s still hopeful about finding the ultimate love of her life. Saba Qamar as Mishal & Zahid Ahmed as Haider are phenomenal & I believe no one could’ve done a better job than these two. I must thank the director for bringing out the best in all the actors & helping them pick up the right attitude required for the portrayal of all the characters that have been assigned to them. I really like how this drama isn’t too unrealistic & not completely realistic too, it just perfectly falls in between & makes it a ‘drama’ that one likes to watch. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Besharam.

Zara Yaad Kar – Episode 10!

Ohkay so, this episode showed some slight progress in the story. Even though this episode was slow, I found it justified considering how they needed some time to show the different emotional states that Haadi was going through, however I feel like Uzma got a lot of unnecessary screen-time & half of the things she said didn’t leave an impact as much as they should have.

Mahnoor got the answer from Waqar that she was waiting for. I think Waqar doesn’t believe in wasting time. I thought he’d actually wait for Gaitiara’s confession & might as well back out from the commitment that Mahnoor thought he made but he didn’t do anything of that sort because in my opinion, he doesn’t respect his relationship with Mahnoor at all, because if he had an iota of respect for this relationship & also for Mahnoor, he wouldn’t have said all those things to Gaitiara just the night before when he finally decided to propose Mahnoor. I think just like for Mahnoor, her relationship with Haadi didn’t carry much importance, similarly, for Waqar, his relationship with Mahnoor doesn’t carry much importance too & I say that because even when Mahnoor tagged Waqar along to do the paperwork required to proceed with her divorce, Waqar spoke to Gaitiara eagerly & stealthily. If Waqar had respected Mahnoor (which she obviously isn’t entitled to), he would’ve told her straight away about who this special student of his was, what she was like & how she might have fallen in love with him because this is exactly what Haadi did when he received a confession letter from Uzma.

Once again, there was a lot of focus on ‘mard & mard ka bacha’ bit but I am sure the writer here has tried to use this terminology in sarcasm because usually people attribute egoism & unnecessary display of anger & authority to define the traits a man should & must possess. By showing a ‘man’ like Haadi, the writer here is trying to convey that this is what a man can be like, who has nothing to do with ego & who believes in granting people their wishes even if it means crushing their own dreams & walking over their desires, which most of times doesn’t favor a man like Haadi but there is nothing wrong in being like that. People aren’t familiar with these sort of ‘mard’ & don’t usually come across men like Haadi too, that is why Aneesa kept on telling him to do things he doesn’t believe in like slapping Mahnoor, just in order to prove his manliness, which once again he never resorted to as he knows & has this sense of self-affirmation that he doesn’t need to do all this to prove that he has some authority & power to rule over a female just because he is a male & has to go by the mindset that the society endorses. This is also one of the reasons why Mahnoor never saw Haadi as a man, just because he forgave her mistakes & had the courage to apologize for the things he never was responsible for, Mahnoor thought he wasn’t an ideal ‘man’ because he was too cowardly & gentle, that is why when she saw Waqar, she assumed that he was a perfect man that she was waiting for all her life & deserved to be with. Mahnoor will find out soon enough that Haadi was more a man than Waqar is because being a man can also mean being honest, sincere & kindhearted, which Waqar definitely is not & Haadi is!

I must say, for a father of an only child & daughter at that, Ikhtiyaar Sahab is a bit too cool-headed & relaxed. He now understands the feelings Uzma has or even if he doesn’t understand, he most certainly doesn’t mind seeing how his daughter takes care of the one she cooks for. However, I must say I like the relationship that Ikhtiyaar Sahab & Uzma share & it won’t be too long when Haadi will join their little family too as Ikhtiyar doesn’t seem to mind the feelings Uzma has for him.

Honestly speaking, throughout this episode I couldn’t stop thinking how things will change from now onward & how the lives of both Mahnoor & Haadi will be reversed. Haadi is going through a heart-break & has suffered enough pain but he will understand that everything happens for a reason & there will come a time in his life when he will thank Mahnoor for walking out of his life. Where Haadi’s life will take a U-turn for the better, Mahnoor life will also take a U-turn but for the worse as she has unknowingly driven herself to hell. She thinks just because Haadi walked out of her life quietly, she has scored a big win but she is a fool to believe that things will be smoother & easier Just like Waqar said ‘1 mahine ki mohabbat’ forced Mahnoor to take such a huge step, so she definitely is in for a ride & will see her worst nightmares materializing & things slipping away from her hands no matter how hard she will try to hold onto them. I am sure the way Mahnoor has insulted the love Haadi had for her, Waqar will insult the love Mahnoor has for him too. The way Mahnoor has hurt Haadi’s feelings, Waqar will hurt her feelings too. Also, I am sure the way Mahnoor two-timed on Haadi, Waqar will two-time on her too with Gaitiara & I can’t wait to see how she will be left alone & miserable.

Overall, this was a decent episode but a bit on the slower side. I like Haadi for the honesty he endorses & displays no matter how dire the situation is. I feel bad for Aneesa because she knows that things have messed up big time & she can not undo any of that. I am glad that they have used the first 10 episodes to reach the game changer & now we’re stepping into the second phase of the story where the roles will be reversed. Let’s see what do they have in store for us. Please share your say about this episode of Zara Yaad Kar.
