Silvatein Episode 11 – Impossible.

0

One word that kept on popping in my mind the whole time I was watching the episode was ‘IMPOSSIBLE’. There are so many points in which all the characters have diligently justified this word. I am glad that the drama is turning out to be more meaningful & is now showing clearly the paths of Natasha & Zeb. There are some disappointments, not in regards to the drama but at how the characters are unwinding their lives for themselves.

Natasha is one lucky girl who has found everything that a girl needs to stay happy BUT she is trying so hard to ruin it. I was kind of shocked to see how cleanly she mentions to Rayaan that she is not feeling at home because Bilal has no say in the business. Even though she’s the youngest but she is not at all innocent for her age. She has her ways of making things work only for herself & that justifies her as nothing but ‘mean’. It was rather unpleasant to see her degrading her husband just because he works under his brother, & for this reason, Natasha should lower her silliness a couple of notches down.

Natasha’s in laws & her husband are perfect people, except Munize & Mahjabeen, but none of the other family members have ever given her a chance to complain about anything. She does what she likes, she can do whatever she wants & still she was treating her husband like some doormat. I don’t quite get what she actually wants? She wanted to go to USA, she got it. She wanted a good husband, she has found a guy much much better than her but still she has some serious issues going on & all this while she was just acting like someone who’s so hard to be with. She indeed turned out to be impossible.

Of all the silly things she has done, her funniest were the Skype session & the price tag on the shirt. She looked really DUMB that all this while she was actually posing in front of her mother that she is in a bliss but when she actually is blessed, she is not understanding it’s importance & is being unthankful. No doubt Meera Sethi has done a wonderful job as Natasha but this character is unbearable now.

What Zeb did was wrong too. She has gotten herself so much involved in Dilawar’s family & their problems that she didn’t even want to think about the problems that could arise due to her lack of interest & trust in her relationship & in her fiancé  Mikaal & Zeb were both right in their own ways but what Mikaal expected of Zeb wasn’t something impossible or major. He just wanted her to trust him & stick to what she has promised. He was actually right that just at the beginning of their relation if she starts hiding things, they will have a huge trust issue when they will move forward. They were really good friends & Zeb took him that way more seriously that she did when he became her fiancé  which was Zeb’s fault. I guess she got over with the engagement thing too quickly & felt herself trapped because may be all this while she has lived independently & has made her own decisions, that’s why she was finding it hard to do what Mikaal expected of her. I so wanted to shake Zeb to wake up for what she was doing when she was letting Mikaal go. How could she lose such a gem of a person so easily? It was sad to see that happen.

Their engagement ended a bit too suddenly & without any major issue that could actually end a long-term friendship & the engagement. Plus Zeb has always been running away from Natasha because she knows she’s intolerable, so how easily could she agree to visit her sister, knowing on what terms they both have parted? Munize was being impossible too. She on her own is right that why just because of some nasty sister-in-law, she shouldn’t visit her brother’s place but Munize should understand that her brothers are married & do not need a finger to hold onto just so that someone could lead a way. She is younger to Rayaan so she should act that way.

Overall, I loved the episode & especially the conversations Zeb had twice with her mother & once with her father. They were so simply written but carried such huge meanings. Plus now we know how Zeb & Rayaan will end up together as she is visiting Natasha. I find it a bit amusing that Munize is so over the two sisters that she doesn’t want to face them, I can’t wait to see what explosion would happen in her mind when she will find out that Rayaan is interested in Zeb now too. I love the pace of the drama & how the story throws something new every-time we watch it. Share your views.

Mirat-ul-Uroos Episode 23 – Engaging and Meaningful

0

This was yet another engaging and meaningful episode of Mirat-ul-Uroos. Time flies away a little too quickly when you are watching this play and at this point I simply love the pace of the show. I also like the way the characters are so well etched out; sometimes the reactions and happenings can be very predictable but I have come to the conclusion that it isn’t always something bad for the characters to be predictable. The reason I am saying this is that it really really makes me extremely happy everytime Aima tells Hashim openly in loud and clear words that he should not rely on her in any way financially. She never softens up as far as her principles about financial matters and the role Hashim is supposed to play in the family is concerned. She really made me proud today when she told him right in the face that she was there to share his burden but he should not think that she will completely relieve him of his duties. Hashim and Hammad both have been complete disappointments. Hammad’s guilt pangs every now and then never seem to affect his behavior in any way…anything that Ayza says goes even though he may not agree with her ever. Hashim on the other hand had the guts to tell Aima that he was considering leaving the job since Aima was working now and maybe she could do some overtime…seriously when will this man learn? He is what we call a total loser and I wonder when is he going to change, seems like there is no hope for him in the near future.

wajahat

One thing I am very happy about is that Wajahat is out looking for a job. He has a sound health and a lot of experience so why not? There is nothing wrong with working until your health allows it and nowadays older people continue working even after their retirement which I am sure helps them in so many ways. Every person needs to feel useful and someone who has earned all his life must not feel good looking towards his children for money especially when the children are like Hashim and Hammad.

Rafia did seem to feel a little ashamed when Hashim gave her the money and told her that Aima contributed too but she did not feel bad enough to actually apologize to Aima or even say something nice to her, maybe because she could not muster up the courage to do so. I couldn’t help but feel for Zain; of course he is careless and I also agree that going abroad is not going to solve his problems, but I did feel like Hammad shouldn’t have let him down the way he did and the way Aima just dropped the bomb on him did not seem very fair. The way Ayza looked at Zain when he was talking to Hammad went to show that there is no place in Ayza’s heart for Hammad’s family at all. Aima on the other hand is doing everything in her power for her in laws and I am pretty sure that it will pay off in the end. I am waiting to see Hashim change more than anything else.

akbari

Akbari’s dialogue about Durr-e-Shehwar and Guddu’s remark about her being Shandana was hilarious; it brought back memories and was spot on! Akbari comparing herself to Durr-e-Shehwar, how ironic is that!! I have a feeling that Hamnah and Farhan will end up getting married but I also cannot see Nasir taking a stand in front of Akbari or his brother…can’t wait to find out how the story unfolds.

I have to say that Mirat-ul-Uroos has proved to be a very subtle and sincere effort by the entire team to bring forward some very important problems that are part of every second household and it does not only highlight problems but also gives solutions. No doubt family is a very strong unit and a few wise people in a family who put in their honest effort can help other family members overcome any kind of problems. I missed Asghari in today’s episode but thoroughly enjoyed it nevertheless. This latest installment was flawless from the beginning to the end and I am definitely looking forward to next week’s episode.

“Remake of Amar Bail is delayed and neither Fawad or Nida have been considered”-Umera Ahmed’s Official Page!

0

Seems like we will have to wait for Umera Ahmed’s “Amar Bail” as according to the latest update, the idea of remaking the drama has been delayed. It was only few hours back that we shared a news that was circulating on the social media and Drama forums that Umera Ahmed’ popular novel “Amar Bail” will be coming up somewhere this year with Fawad Khan and Nida Khan in the roles of Umar and Alizay. The news, which already shook half of the fans further added new levels of excitement and the social media was all loaded with gossips. While few fans discussed how the first picturization of the drama disappointed Umera Ahmed’s fans, other too kept themselves busy in criticizing Nida’s selection for the role.

As stated in the original piece of information, the relevancy of the news was quite in danger and the fears have turned into a reality as Umera Ahmed’s  Official Page has confirmed that currently no  such project is been done. It is true that “Amar Bail” would soon be reproduced but the idea has been delayed for some time.

Moreover, the spokesman of the page mentioned that they haven’t decided the casts yet and for the stated cast in the rumor, Fawad and Nida are not even considered!

Here is a reply that has been given countering the new-cum-rumor:

Untitled

With this, it is for sure that having Fawad Khan in the role of Umar will be a dream now. However, it should be seen that the viewers were quite excited about the project and such a thing in future would be taken open arms by the audience, :)

Rahogi Tum Wohi Episode 01 – Review!

Rahogi Tum Wohi, in the very first episode where they set the plot & the base for the whole drama, I felt they have succeeded in getting the message through. Very slowly yet beautifully they told the story of most of the households & the miserable state of certain marriages.

All the while, I was actually struggling to know whether the lead character Faiza was able to speak or she wasn’t gifted with this sense but she broke the ice in the end. She is a simple woman who works at an NGO & runs her house too. She did seem a bit spaced out at times & at times she looked frustrated. She is married to a husband who actually liked her in the beginning of their marriage but now seems someone who is impossible to please.

There were many parts which were done beautifully & they told a tale in their own. At first, Faiza’s husband claims that the married women leave everything & have nothing to do with book reading or do not strive to broaden their intellectual vision, whereas, Faiza has a whole collection of books that she loves to read. When she is busy in her hobby her husband straight away underestimates her saying you ain’t learning anything from this activity & do not read again.

In the past when Faiza is forcing her kids hard to study, her husband drops in & tells her not to enforce studies on them but when their son fails to score good marks, he solely holds Faiza responsible for it. She is for sure married to a person who loves to look down on his wife & is not ready to listen to her. He is just the one who talks one-handedly & gives her a hard time. In each & every one-sided conversation they have, Faiza’s husband is completely degrading her for what she has become & how silent she is. However, completely ignoring the fact that it is he who has turned her that way.

Faiza seems like a person who is in touch with her intellectual self. Even though she sees & faces a few miseries on the daily basis but puts them into beautiful words & utters those questions to herself. She is obviously now happy with how her life has turned out to be & is afraid to open up in front of her husband because even though she doesn’t do it, she knows that her husband will find a way to bicker.

We don’t know what this drama holds & how it will unfold, but for now it does seem like it will focus on the roller-coaster ride of emotions that two people face when they live under one roof & how they grow out of one another.

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

We recently shared  a news about the new drama “Shab-e-Arzoo Ka Aalam” that will go on air from April 22nd, on ARY Digital, and here we are again, sharing all the latest crisp that has been leaked out about the show.

Been directed by Sohail Javed, the drama is a magnificent piece of script by Aneeza  Syed. The story revolves around two characters where both of them go through a similar situation and leave out the rest for the sake of love. What makes the two ends different is the tragedy due to which the boy leaves everything to be with his love whereas the girl had to  stay away from her love to be with her family.

The drama enjoys a rich cast that will definitely help the ratings of the serial. Mohib Mirza and Armeena  Rana Khan are the central characters, whereas,Shehryar Zaidi, Asad, Mansha Pasha,  Qazi Wajid, Saba Faisal and Ayesha Toor will also be seen in the drama.

It seems that Mansha has finally got a role for herself which seems pretty different from the ones he has had been doing. It is to be sure that she has also made a good fan following which would definitely follow the show to see what new does she has to show in her acting.

Here are a few official clicks of the drama, speaking all about it, Have a look!

Adhoori Aurat Episode 1 Review – A Nice Beginning!

0

The first episode managed to capture my interest and pretty soon it will also manage to capture the interests of the audiences. I wanted to see this show in the first place because Faisal Qureshi and Ayeza Khan were the main leads and I always wanted to see them paired together in a show. The show is directed by Furqan Khan and written by Samina Ejaz. The first episode mainly revolved around the introductions of all the characters in the show.

aa 2I would first start with Ayeza Khan who plays the role of Maryam who seems to be a typical average girl with dreams of her own. She is a very simple girl who is the exact contrast of her sister. While her sister Amna is bold and outspoken, Maryam’s character is more subtle, quiet and shy who likes to share thoughts in her diary rather than sharing them openly. I simply loved the cute bonding between the sisters. It seems like Amna’s favorite hobby is to tease and annoy her sister mercilessly!

aa 1

Now coming to the male lead of the show; Faisal Qureshi plays the role of Zayaan who made an impressive entry with his very first scene. Zayaan seems like a serious, stern and practical person whose life revolves around his work. His mother and his sister, Afsha keeps on pestering him to get married to Afsha’s sister in law Faiza but Zayaan is not in favor of the marriage and seems least interested in the proposal. Afsha keeps on insisting him about the proposal due to the pressure from her husband and in laws who want to make Zayaan their son in law. It seems that he would not willingly say yes to Faiza and according to the promos he will not get married to her.

The episode was based on Maryam’s proposal and her engagement to Umair. His character seemed mysterious and I sensed from the beginning that something about him was just not right. He did not seem much interested in Maryam and was not in the least excited about his marriage. Maryam, on the other hand had woven her dreams about her marriage and looked forward to her marriage. Maryam did not show much interest in the beginning but Amna managed to make her agree to the proposal as her enthusiasm seemed to be infectious and Maryam finally agreed and the engagement took place.

However, her happiness was short lived as just when her marriage date was approaching, she got the shock of her life when she saw Umair with another girl. I loved the way Amna stood up for her sister and gave Umair a piece of her mind and Maryam had to drag her from there to stop her from creating a huge scene. Maryam’s dreams were shattered after knowing the truth about Umair. Now I am very curious to know how Zayaan and Maryam will finally meet! I am looking forward to see both of them together.

Overall, it was an entertaining episode and I liked all the members in Maryam’s family. They seemed like the perfect family and each member supported the other through thick and thin. Zayaan, however did not seem to have any close bonding with his family as his workaholic nature did not let him spend much time with his mother or sister.

Faisal Qureshi was as usual outstanding and has played the role of Zayaan to perfection. Faisal Qureshi has the ability to mold into any character perfectly and I love this quality about him. Ayeza’s acting was good but her character seemed very similar to her role in Kahi Unkahi.

I am looking forward to its next episode when the actual story will finally start. I would rate this episode a 3/5. I have a lot of expectations from this show. Let’s see what it has in store for us in the future!

0

Surprize!  We are here with a news that would definitely be a treat for the Pakistan’s drama lovers. According to the social media’s official fan page and the largest Indian forum, India-forums, the news has been leaked that it is Fawad Khan, along with Nida Khan who have been selected for an upcoming drama serial Amar Bail, been written by the phenomenal writer Umera Ahmed. Nothing more has been revealed yet about the topic but there is one thing for sure that Umera’s fans would definitely love this news as it is Amar Bail after Peer-e-Kamil(pbuh) which takes the reader in some other world which apparently seems reality.

Fawad Khan will be seen in the role Umar, the central character of the novel, whereas Nida would be impersonating Aliza’s character. For those who don’t recognize Nida Khan, she is an actress less seen on screen. She was the daughter of Parsa in the the drama serial Paarsa that went on air on Hum TV.

While going through the feedbacks, it can be seen that the audience is pretty excited about the news but also want to have a change in the ending of the story. Moreover, many of the viewers aren’t happy with Nida’s casting in the drama.

Jugan expected to make a power comeback after losing weight!

0

It is turning into a trait of our drama industry that the actresses, after reaching to a peak of popularity suddenly go off-screen and make a power comeback with either a new style or a new controversy. After Nadia Khan and Shaista Wahidi, It is Jugan who has been working out really hard on her fitness and now is enthusiastic for the new roles and opportunities in the entertainment industry.

Jugan has been hosting many shows and is also seen in many advertisements but it was for some time that her acting career went at hold state, thanks to Hum2 that the old shows like Pani jaisa pyaar kept the lady on screen.

It is now that Jugan has really worked hard in getting her slimmer, reducing some real weight. No doubt about the fact that the actress is really talented and the audience adore her for her guise.

We hope to see Jugan in upcoming dramas with some powerful roles,

Rehaai Episodes 4 & 5

0

My apologies for the delay, but this review will cover episodes 4 and 5. Rehaai seems to be moving in a pretty steady pace. In episode 4 we see Shehnaz at her Baji’s and she realizes that Shamim was right….she should never have listened to her sister and killed Kulsoom’s baby. When Shamim comes to get her, she readily leaves saying Vasim’s house was at least lesser of the two hells as her brother in law is a complete jerk and her sister is a hypocrit. There is a very important line that Shehnaz says to her baji in this episode…”agar karamat wale baba jee mein itna asar hota to woh pehle apni zindagi sanwaarte.” It is very important for people (mainly women) to understand this. Allah is the only one that will help us and of course only through HIM are his Messengers and Walis. But no pious person will ever do a ‘chilla’ to abort someone’s child. Women need to realize that all of this is not only crap, but against Islam and humanity in general. Shehnaz is finally brought home by Shamim and she apologizes to Kulsoom and Vasim. Vasim is a jerk as always.

We also get an official introduction to the Kashf Foundation in episode 4. I really like the stark contrast between Vasim’s family and Akmal’s. Akmal’s father is sick and can no longer work. Nasrin Baji introduces Kashf Foundation to Shakira and her husband and gives her example of how they helped her so much. After a little hesitancy, Shakira’s husband agrees to let her work (Shukar hai) and we see the positive effects of that in episode 5.

Episode 4 ends with Kulsoom expecting again and calling Shamim from the bathroom in pain and episode 5 starts with Shamim taking care of a very sick and weak Kulsoom.  While waiting, oh how I wish I could slap him when he says stuff like “mere bête ko kuch nahi hona chahiye.” Kulsoom finally gives birth to a baby girl that Vasim doesn’t even look at for about 15 days. I was really disturbed to see the look of pain on Kulsoom’s face when she sees the baby girl…as if thinking ‘what if her daughter’s future is also like hers.’ Once the baby is home Shehnaz completely redeems herself for her prior act. She genuinely loves the baby and cares for Kulsoom…to the extent that we see her giving the baby the bottle while half asleep letting Kulsoom rest. She tells Shamim that after seeing what Kulsoom went through with the baby, she no longer hates her. She actually sympathizes with her because when Vasim is abusive towards her, she at least knows what is happening, but Kulsoom doesn’t even know what torture she is going through. Even when Vasim slaps her, Shehnaz is there to comfort her. You can finally see the chemistry between Maria Wasti and Saaniya and it is fantastic

Vasim is thoroughly upset about not having a boy and so enter his future 3rd wife…Noor Jahan. Nosheen Shah plays the extremely flirty and divorced Noor Jahan who has a son. She manages to get free suits for her and her mother and Vasim also starts to call her. He completely forgets that he already has two wives and a daughter. I guess Nosheen Shah is on a negative-character-role-spree these days. Didn’t like her in Mera Pehla Pyar and already don’t like her as Noor Jahan.

On the Akmal front, looks like bechare ki pitai hone wali hai ‘bhai’ se. He is getting a little too close to Kulsoom and now baby Rabia (such a lovely name waise). I’m hoping Vasim divorces Kulsoom so she can happily marry Akmal. Danish Taimour is doing a great job as Akmal. I just wish he would put on less make up then the women in the drama.

Episode 5 ends with Kulsoom coming back from the doctor after learning she is expecting again. Vasim is adamant this time it must be a girl. Why someone cannot tell him that Vasim himself is responsible for the baby’s gender is beyond me. Perhaps Kashf Foundation can also educate the jaahil men and women on the fact that the father is responsible for the gender of the baby, not the mother.

I think Rehaai is moving at a steady space but has become a little predictable. Acting wise, everyone does justice to their roles. In episode 3 Saaniya seemed to have extremely blank expressions, but she was outstanding in episodes 4 and 5. No words for Samina Peerzada and Nouman Ejaz’s acting. Mehreen is, as always brilliant in direction and the script was pretty solid in the last 2 episodes…looking forward to episode 6.

I’d like to take a minute here and say that all the comments on this review and the drama are highly appreciated. I do however request that if you are going to criticize the review, director, script or even the actors, please do so respectfully. Thank You.

Kaash Aisa Ho Episode 12 – Forming New Bonds

0

Okay, so this show really needs to pick up some speed. It is getting more and more depressing by the day and I again felt like pitying Irfa and her condition. Shayan again turned out to be very disappointing as he did not bother to come back from his trip even when Irfa gave him the news that he just had a daughter. He wanted to extend his trip and had planned to travel to Europe for another 10 to 12 days and when Irfa protested, he actually cut the phone on her face! He is least bothered about Irfa and his new born daughter. I had expected him to care for his daughter but Shayan again turned out to be a huge disappointment. Irfa and Rahima both have no importance in his life; he is too self-centered to think of anybody but himself.

Shayan returns almost a month after his daughter’s birth and the first person he meets in his own house is Dr. Bilal who had been a support system for Irfa in the past month when she was all alone and in dire need of help. Since Dr. Bilal’s wife is out of town, he can visit Irfa without offending Manahil. Shayan was surprised to see him at his doorstep and did not welcome his presence. Dr. Bilal understood that he was not welcomed and left immediately. Their second meeting was more dramatic than the first one and this time, Shayan showed his displeasure at his presence and Dr. Bilal left again without being offended in the least. Shayan got disturbed by his presence in his house as he does like to see Irfa getting close to anybody but him. This is what we call hypocrisy! He used to tell Irfa to become open minded and now he himself is showing how close minded he is.

Dr. Bilal has become attached to Rahima and he was surprised to know that Irfa has not even thought of a name for her child. I love the scene where Irfa asked him to suggest a name and he said Betiyan To Allah Ki Rehmat Hoti Hai; Rehmat Se Rahima Kaise Rahega’ Dr. Bilal is slowly becoming my favorite character in this show. He has a grace and charm which leaves one impressed with his character. Irfa is grateful to him for all the help he has provided to her in the worst situation and she will always respect him for the kindness he had shown. They had unknowingly formed a very strong bond and I am sure now that Dr. Bilal will support Irfa if Shayan leaves her.

Irfa has totally given up on Shayan now and she knows very well that he spends all his time with Maleeha but she had just stopped protesting when she realized how useless it is to stop Shayan from doing something that he wants. She clearly told him that she does not need his time or love anymore and she had learned to live without both. Shayan is Maleeha’s personal puppet and he does whatever she tells him to do. Irfa had asked Shayan to come back home early so that they can take Rahima to the doctor as she seemed unwell but Shayan stayed with Maleeha when she insisted and forgot about his daughter once again. Dr. Bilal came at the right time and helped Rahima whose condition was worsening.

Whenever I watch a show a question pops inside my head that is what makes me watch this show? And the reason why I watch this show is Saba Qamar and Mohib Mirza’s spot on acting. Their brilliant performance keeps me hooked even when the story is stagnant. Sana Askari, however, fails to offer anything new as she is playing the same kind of character that we have seen her in a hundred times before. Shahood Alvi has also managed to impress me with his character and I think this role was tailor made for him.

Let’s see what is in store for us in the coming episode! It would not take Shayan much longer to marry Maleeha and leave Irfa. The story really needs to move on now!

Keep Watching!

HUM TV Awards to Finally go on-air! Rare Pictures Revealed!

0

After little pause in the blowing air, HUM Awards are again successful to create a hype among the viewers of Pakistan’s Drama industry. It was only few days back that the channel announced its first official ceremony to pay a tribute to the leading dramas of the channel for the year 2012-2013. From the nominations to the results, the event seemed quite controversial where either the audience raised questions about the criteria been set for the nominations or the fact that the results were bias and no decisions of the audience were given respect.

It was also amusing to find that the event that took place on March 12th, took more than a month to actually get edited. It is now that the promos are been shown but the award ceremony is still under the label of “Coming Soon”. Dil-e-Muztar Episode 8 Review – Hard Times!

0

It seems like there is trouble in their ‘Choti Si Kainat’ as Adeel described it.  Adeel is getting more frustrated by the day because of his joblessness and his inability to fulfill his family’s needs. The loving and caring Adeel has just vanished and we got to see a new side of him in this episode. Adeel went to one office after the other to find a job but to no avail as he gets rejected everywhere. He has studied from government institutions and needs a powerful source to get a good job. The rejection disappoints and frustrates him and his attitude towards Silah becomes very harsh. I felt really bad for her as she has become a punching bag for Adeel who leaves no chance to vent his frustration and anger on her. Silah never gets upset on his outbursts because she knows he is growing through a tough time and he eventually does apologize to her for his rudeness.

Adeel is already having a hard time finding a new job and top of that every other person keeps on asking him about his job which manages to irk and irritate him even more. The most annoying character I found today was of Zoya’s mother who kept on taunting Adeel and Silah about Adeel’s lack of job. Why cannot people just mind their own business! Adeel gets sad when he sees that most of his friends had found a new job as they had backup from their parents or relatives. He needs a strong recommendation or a source to get a good job but unfortunately, there is no one present to support him in such a bad time.

Well, as it is said that when bad times come they come in full force! Adeel was already very upset about not getting a job and on top of that his bike, wallet and mobile get stolen. His expressions when this incident happened made my heart go out for him. Imran Abbas just nailed the scene with his brilliant acting. Adeel had totally given up after this incident and when Silah tries to console him, he gets irritated and once again gets angry at her. He gets so upset that he starts arguing and fighting with people for petty reasons. He got into an argument with his landlord and then fought with a stranger just because he accidentally collided with him while walking.

DM 2

Zoya has proved to be a huge support for Silah in such bad conditions as she provided Silah with moral support and kept on boosting up her spirit. She advised her to find a job for herself so that she can support her family. Silah is reluctant at first as she knows Adeel would not give permission but when their conditions take turn for the worst, she finally asks Adeel but as expected he gets furious at her for even coming up with such an idea. I was taken aback when he said ‘Shut Up’ on Silah’s face! That was extremely rude of him to behave with her in such a way. Adeel is shown as an egoistic character whose self respect is everything for him and to let his wife work while he sits at home is just not acceptable to him. His stubbornness is bound to create problems for both of them in future.

Dm 1

Zoya once again managed to lighten the mood with her hilarious scenes. Her positivity and enthusiasm is infectious and she once again managed to entertain me with her antics. She was least bothered to know that her cousin who had offered for her before is getting married. She is preparing to go for his wedding in Bhawalpur and the scene where she goes to Silah’s house to borrow her dresses for the wedding was hilarious! I loved the way she said “Aik Mehndi Ka, Shaadi Ka, Aik Valime aur Aik Extra Bhi Chahiye Hoga”

photo(52)

The preview for the next episode seems a bit scary as Silah gets a job without Adeel’s permission which makes him angry. Aijaaz Aslam is also going to enter the show in the next episode. It seems like he is going to be Silah’s new boss. Let’s see what story is in store for us in the future. Adeel and Silah are in for a rough time as Silah’s decision to work will affect their relationship. What do you guys think about the episode? Share your views and keep watching!

It has been rightly said that the there are few lucky days in the life of every celebrity that bring wonders and give a real boost to the artists. Mohib Mirza is, for sure, enjoying that particular period of his life currently. The Actor has become a significantly important icon in the entertainment industry since the last year after the success of his movie “Lamha-The seedling” and his role as Hamza in Shehre-Zaat brought him further worth as an actor. Mohib Mirza is currently seen in the drama serial ‘Kash Aisa ho..’ that is been on air on ARY Digital. His chemistry with Saba Qamar hasn’t succeeded to great levels, though he is still been admired for his acting in the project,

The promos of the serial can be seen on and off on the channel and the social media has created a hype about this upcoming show already. With the promos that speak about the chemistry of the two, shows that Mohib will again be seen in his long hair which, according to many fans really do not suit him. It is yet difficult to reveal more about the storyline at the moment, therefore, keep your fingers crossed for the show.

Shows Targeting Social Issues – Influencing The Audiences?

0

There are a lot of shows being made on concepts based on social issues that are prevalent in our society nowadays. Dramas can surely serve as a form of reform and change the mindset and orthodox thinking of people as they are ardently followed by the masses. There are many people in our society who can relate to the realistic stories depicted in our dramas and this may boost up their spirit to see the stories of their lives reaching out to audiences. Here is a list of recent shows that have targeted social issues like second marriages, child marriages, obsession with sons etc:

Daagh

Daagh:

This is one the recent shows that targeted on a social issue very common in our society i.e. giving priority to sons over daughters. In this era, there are still people who give discriminate between sons and daughters and even marry again in hope of getting sons from the other wife. People still blame woman for giving birth to daughters even in these times which is very disappointing since science has clearly proved this wrong and this show made people aware of how lives can get disturbed by making hasty decisions and the result of doing injustice with your daughters. The story and the message in it is what made me watch this show in the first place.

sss

Rehaai:

Another show which has recently started airing is Rehaai and this show focuses on how girls suffer due to child marriages and what problems they face later on. This is again a very common issue in our society. Girls are married off at an age where most children enjoy their childhood and how they face the complications of pregnancy at such a young age. This show has shown this concept very openly which surprised me at first but I think audiences have matured enough now to face the stark reality of such concepts. Though, some people have complained that this show should not have been placed in the prime slot as it is not a show which can be watched with one’s family and I do agree with them.

Main-gunahgar-nahi-drama-17-december-2012-episode

Main Guneghar Nahi:

This is another show which targeted a social issue common in our society i.e. the treatment of rape victims. The victims are condemned and considered an outcast in our society and are degraded and humiliated at every step. Instead of getting love and support which they need and deserve to get out of physical and mental trauma, they get the worse treatment possible from people. This story focuses on a girl who is a victim of such an incident and how she is treated by her family and the society and what problems she faces in her life and how she finally manages to get back her confidence and stand on her own feet. I think this show has a very good concept and the message it is conveying to the society may change the mindset of people.

mera yaqeen 2

Mera Yaqeen:

Second marriage is another common issue in our society and many shows have been made on this concept. Mera Yaqeen is one of those shows which depicted what problems may arise after marrying for a second time and how hard it is to keep justice between both wives. Jealousy and competition between the two wives can affect the whole family in a negative way and this is what was shown in this show.

525698_480184018704328_354199639_n

Humnasheen:

This is another show in which the male lead marries for a second time because he is childless from his first wife. All of you know what happens next! The first wife becomes insecure and asks her husband to leave the second wife when she had herself forced her husband to marry in the first place. It is very common in our society to marry a second time for the sake of children.

aik nazar meri taraf

Ek Nazar Meri Taraf:

This show was a bit exaggerated and dramatic but the story had a message as it was based on the treatment of widows in our society. It is hard to believe that such people exist who treat their widowed daughter in laws in such a manner. Instead of supporting them through the hard time, restrictions are placed on them and the society analyze their every action very critically and leave no chance to pass comments on what is the appropriate way for them to behave.

Most of the dramas nowadays are focusing and highlighting on reality. Social issues are taken from the society itself and a story is churned out of it. I really hope these shows can influence minds of the people in our society and change their way of thinking!

These are just a few shows. Feel free to add to the list!

Zindagi Gulzar Hai Episode 20 – Picture Perfect

“Apni har cheez ke liye dhakay nahi khanay pare gay bulke khawar hone ke liye koi aur mojood ho ga. Mujhe is sub pur yakeen nahi aata, yeh agar khushkismati hai tu meri kyun hai…Is admi ki ajeeb si adat hone lagi hai mujhe, agur yeh meri zindagi se chala gaya tu bara masla ho jai ga”

Finally Kashaf even with all her insecurities and fears has unknowingly started trusting Zaroon. She believes that he will be there for her whenever she needs him….Kashaf sees a companion in him. Zaroon’s love has finally won Kashaf over.  Although she questions all of it being real but also acknowledges that she will be zghlost without this man. In today’s episode Kashaf and Zaroon seemed more like two people who were meant to be together even though Zaroon kept on bragging about how perfect he was and Kashaf called him khushpasand and khushparast. Zaroon is no longer the confused person he was in the previous episode, his over confidence is back and Kashaf also seems to be enjoying “discovering” the person Zaroon is now because she got many pleasant surprises till now.  Kashaf has always thought that all men are like her father; insensitive and selfish pople who do not care about a woman’s feelings and cannot look after their wives, that is the impression Kashaf has grown up with and we have all seen how Kashaf openly expressed in the previous episodes how she felt about men in general. Zaroon is nothing like the man Murtaza was, he loves Kashaf and shows it and although she earns he still realizes his responsibilities as her husband. The scene in which he gives Kashaf money before leaving her mother’s house was priceless. Sanam Saeed was brilliant in that particular scene and Fawad Khan’s expressions when he says “nahi mane gi yeh larki” were yet again simply brilliant! These few lines explained so well how Kashaf felt and the reason why she will never let Zaroon know just what he meant to her.

“Tumhari gehri bolti nazrein, tumhari hur wakt ki tawaju, tumhara jaan chiraknay wala hur andaz, hur baar jub tum mere maa baap ke liye ahteraman kharay hotay hu tu mein tumhare agay jhuknay lagti hun….aik chotay se ghur ke is pankhay wale kamray mein tumhari yeh gehri neend, mineral water bottle ko dhundtnay ke bajaye nalkay ka paani pe lina…..pur mei yeh sub tumhei kabhi nahi batun gi , tumhare hur wade pur hanso gi, tumhari hur baat ka mazaq urao gi…mein tumhare samne rait ki dewar nahi bun sukti mujhe toot jane se khof ata hai”.

Zaroon is also “discovering” the person that Kashaf is, the scene in which Kashaf sews his button was another one of the many wonderful scenes from today’s episode. Zaroon has a wife who has a strong personality, works and can sew his button…impressive indeed. I really liked Kashaf’s reply to Zaroon when he said she managed to impress him for the first time. Zaroon, like a man madly in love wants Kashaf to tell him that she loves him. Kashaf finds it difficult to express how she feels about Zaroon because she is still not sure if everything that is happening in her life is a beautiful dream or a nightmare. It is very right for a girl like Kashaf to feel this way, she has always worked hard to get everything in life and now all of a sudden everything in her life is perfect. Also, this is the first time in her life that she feels this way about someone so the way she feels is something brand new for her. Communicating her feelings is going to be a difficult task for Kashaf and I am wondering how she will feel once Zaroon goes away.

button

Kashaf’s worst fear came true when Rafia and Sidra convinced Zaroon to stay for the night. As it turned out both of them made the most of the moonlit night and that particular scene had to be one of the best scenes of the entire episode. The way Zaroon insisted that there must be something that Kashaf must like about him and the manner in which Kashaf was adamant on not saying a single good thing about him made for a very cute conversation.

z

Today’s episode focused on cementing Kashaf and Zaroon’s relationship together and it was done perfectly. There were so many dialogues in today’s episode that were simply heart-tugging. The preview for the next episode seemed alarming, we all thought that Asmara was gone for good but she will be back in the next episode. How will Kashaf feel about that? Zaroon and Kashaf have a conversation about how they should handle any misunderstandings in the future and I couldn’t help but think that you can’t possibly think straight once there is a misunderstanding so avoiding it may not be that easy. Overall, this episode was picture perfect, it was wonderfully directed and the acting was superb as usual. Please share your favorite scenes and dialogues from this latest installment; I would love to hear from all of you.

The link-up news of celebrities are always one of the most happening news that spread within the entertainment industry like anything. It was heard few months back that the Indian actress Sushmita Sen was seeing the former Pakistani cricketer Wasim  Akram and the two of them had intentions to marry as well. The two celebrities were first seen together in a reality show “Ek Khiladi EK Haseena”, sharing the stage as judges in 2008.

The media promoted their friendship quite enough to make it sound fishy, however, it is now finally that her spokesman called all such news as rumors. He said that:

“Sushmita’s too busy to plan a wedding. It’s not true at all. In fact Sushmita is having a show in Mumbai on the 24th of this month. I don’t think she can have an event in Mumbai as well as plan her wedding simultaneously.”

Sushmita Sen has adopted two daughters and has never married. The actress has been enjoying her social activities and appears in movies on and off. It is reported that she has also dated the rising star of today, Randeep Hooda as well.

Wasim Akram, on the other hand, had enjoyed a good, dedicated family life till the death of his wife. He has two kids and these days, he is busy doing commercials and personal businesses.

Silvatein Episode 10 – Natasha: Sister or Enemy?

0

What an interesting series of events & a few very intense conversations. That’s what we expect & get to see in Silvatein every week. Even though when it started I thought all the haphazardness might subside eventually but it has become the identity of this drama. You don’t know what to expect from whom & how? All the conversations are so intelligently written that they leave you with so many different impressions at the same time about a single person. I must say the brainstorming behind this drama is worth an applause.

Aha! Once again it was clearly shown that Natasha is a ‘wanna be Zeb’. She mentions to her mother after her visa arrives that I always wanted to go to America especially how Zeb always yapped about how USA is & what not. It is clearly evident that she tries so hard to go through all such things that Zeb is going through or actually creates such circumstances for herself where she wants to act like Zeb. She is anything but childish & that too a spoiled one. I don’t think she has ever gone through a lack of attention that she claims because her mother is always supportive of her in whatever she does. It’s not that her mother has spoiled her but she has had her share of attention from everyone too & no interruptions in whatever she used to do has made her what she is now.

It was rather aweful how Natasha kept on targetting Zeb in front of her in laws. Just because she thinks that currently Munize is disappointed by Zeb means Natasha is always going to maintain that situation, which is impossible. Munize based her opinion on a few things she got to know that too through Natasha indirectly but once Natasha will start living with her in laws, I am sure she would have to work extremely hard in order to impress everyone because for now she is not ready to accept the complexity of things. For Natasha, her marriage is all about shopping & living independently with her husband with huge house & a car, which every girl of that age does dream about, but she must know that reality is a bit different from illusions & fantasies. Natasha tried really hard to put Zeb in an awkward position in front of her in-laws but Zeb, due to her wisdom still tried to rationalize Natasha’s behaviour.

The best scenes for me through out the episode were those of Zeb & Mikaal’s. They share such a nice relation, they are best buddies but still have a few inhibitions in speaking openly about their feelings to one another. I loved their engagement scene where at one point they seems so candid with each other but on the other they were trying so hard to act like newly engaged couple & still it wasn’t so easy for them because Zeb couldn’t imagine Mikaal speaking to her romantically. It was rather cute. I love how Zeb does think right on her part but Mikaal is still always there to correct her by showing the other side of the picture. That was pretty evident in Dilawar’s case.

I absolutely enjoyed how Zeb acted all naive in front of Munize & easily slipped out of that situation. She on her part is right that whatever she uttered to Natasha was in ignorance & had no idea that Natasha would make such a huge fuss about it & will use the whole issue against Zeb. Munize, for now is judging Zeb on that matter however she is completely unaware of what Natasha can pull off when she goes into that tangent. The scene where Natasha arrives in USA spoke a lot about something fishy. I am sure Natasha’s life there is not going to be so smooth as she thinks it would be. Her in-laws are not that clean & cool like she thinks they are. I am sure she would have to face a lot more difficulties of some other level because till now she had to deal with Zeb & the dis-likeness towards her. Natasha had her mothers support every time if she had any conflicts with Zeb but now she is on her own & seeing how childish, immature & impatient she is, she might get herself involved in something huge.

What Natasha spit in front of Mikaal was intolerable. Just out of her anger & hatred towards Zeb she said what she shouldn’t have. Mikaal’s reaction & his worry about Zeb’s behavior was so realistic because he is the one who cares about every single thing Zeb has gone through & all the problem she faces. For now, he hated to see her bickering with her immature sister because he couldn’t believe Zeb could stoop to that level too. Zeb’s justification seemed so sweet & how she re-assured him of her maturity was appeasing to see. She is slowly & steadily getting more involved in her relation & is getting to understand the importance of Mikaal & their relation.

The question is now getting bothersome at how Zeb will turn out to be with Rehaan? For now she is engaged to Mikaal & I hope nothing bad happens to him because he is a gem of a person & I would hate to see anything happening to their couple. I hope the Dilawar case does not affect them both because now it does seem to have some connection or I hope Natasha does not hound them both due to her frustration.

Mirat-ul-Uroos Episode 22 – Review

0

Finally Aima decided to help her in laws out with the financial problems that they have been facing because Hammad has not been able to help them out. Hammad’s father is a wise man who can tell that they should not expect Hammad to help them out in the future too. Ayza’s next “farmaish” is that Hammad should cut down on the financial help to his parents and the question is if Hammd would be man enough to not listen to his wife and do what he really wants to do. Hammad clearly does not feel good about leaving his family in the lurch but at the same time he has the choice of giving his parents money without telling Ayza. He lied to his parents in order to please Ayza so why can’t he do the same now? Hammad seems like one of those men who think that their wife might walk away if they do anything to displease her. Such men have no idea though that if they stand up to their wife only once, the wives really would know better than to dictate their terms and conditions to their husband. Coming back to Aima, I think her decision to do a part time job was very wise because if she does a full time job Hashim is most likely to leave his own job because she will be earning enough to support his parents then. Also the decision to do a part time job was totally in line with Ayza’s character because that way she will be able to spend quality time with her in laws too; that is something that is very important to her. Aima’s character seems more real when she shares with her mother every now and then the way she feels about Ayza and her selfish attitude. She is not one of those holier than thou sisters who will never complaint no matter what happens.

Aima’s mother once again offers financial help but she refuses for the right reasons. There is certainly a change in Hashim’s attitude; he would not settle for anything less than a 50,000 Rs. salary before but now he has decided to work for someone who is paying him 15000 only. Rafia’s reaction when she heard about Hashim’s salary was actually quite predictable; she ran to the jai Namaz and back to the bed in a few seconds! Rafia has certainly changed her attitude towards Hammad and Ayza but it seems like her attitude towards Aima will only change once she starts earning. Rafia is still materialistic, whether she admits it or not and whoever gives her a good sum of money will get respect from her.

Hamnah’s wedding is finally over and Aima has been there for her every step of the way. Hamnah finally talked to Ayza about how she felt like she may be going through all of this because she ill treated Aima because she didn’t bring a car. I really wanted to hear that confession/apology from her and I am glad that she came out with it today. Hamnah’s father has faith in Aima and therefore asks her to look after Hamnah; that particular scene was very short but I think it said a great deal about how Aima’s father in law feels about her.

Akbari’s reaction to the news of Hamnah’s divorce was no surprise at all. I couldn’t help but think that it must be people like her who with their twisted thinking make things difficult for others as well. Akbari’s is focusing on getting Farhan engaged to Joey now and I have a feeling that Farhan is not going to comply. We have not seen Joey yet but guessing from what Farhan had to say about her, I have a feeling that she will be a total misfit for the family.  Until now Akbari has managed to get everything she was persistent at getting done…I am waiting to see what happens next.

This was the 22nd episode and I have to say that usually by this time I just want a play to wrap up but Mirat-ul-Uroos is going strong till now and I could gladly watch a few more episodes. It is almost unbelievable the way this play has grown on me because I found it highly repetitive and not at all engaging in the beginning. I definitely like everything about Mirat-ul-Uroos and eagerly look forward to it every week.

Nadia Jamil regrets on her refusal for ‘Main Manto’!!

0

Senior actress Nadia Jamil who has been enjoying a huge fan following for every role she picks for herself, is now regretting her decision of not doing Sarmad Khoosat’ s upcoming drama serial, ‘Main Manto’. The drama revolves around the life of a controversial writer, Manto which has been directed by Sarmad Khoosat and comes under the production of AB Entertainment.

images (1)

The reason that stopped Nadia from doing this serial was the fact that she was offered a pretty small role and was also not paid well for it. Once she refused to take over the opportunity, the role was given to Saba Qamar an Mahira Khan, who, both will be a part of the serial. Nadia, while sharing her thoughts about the project also stated that it was actually Mehreen Jabbar who made her feel that what she has really missed by refusing this offer.

The serial has already created a hype in the showbiz industry and all the celebrities are expecting the project to be a real hit. The drama will soon go on air in a few months. The fans of Nadia Jamil would definitely miss watching her on the screen. Let us see how far does this project of Sarmad Khoosat goes,

Keep your fingers crossed,

Kahi Unkahi Last Episode – The End!

0

Well, ever since I read the tag of Last Episode, I kept on procrastinating & did not want to watch it because the reason is obvious. I am kind of sad that it ended & we won’t be seeing more of these characters. I loved the direction of this episode because it was done in a proper sequence & I loved how they showed two different people talking about two opposite scenarios at the same time.

There was a lot of time given to show the end of Mr. Pervaiz’s family & finally they all have come to the realization of their lives. No doubt, all the arrogance & pride did not win them anything rather it turned their happiness into ashes. Finally, it was good to see Anam realizing all her mistakes & flushing out her anger, arrogance & over-confidence down the drain. She did understand by the end that all this while she was being pompous without any good reason. She thought the world revolved around her but it wasn’t the case actually. All the credit goes to her parents especially her mother for spoiling her kids to the core. Anam easily backed out when it came to helping her brother but she had to take some steps in order to save her father’s life.

Mr. Kamal, just smitten by the thought of his first grandchild thought that the only way to keep Mariam from leaving ever was to get her married to Sherry. & once again Mrs. Kamal’s reaction was bland like she did not even exist. Which actually gave me a laugh because in almost last 15-16 episodes all she had to say to anything was ‘KYA?’ & that’s it! I think it would’ve been much better to have shown Mr. Kamal as a widowed husband who had to deal with his kids on his own rather than having a pretty Mrs, just to complete a family picture because she never had a say in any single thing & claiming to be a mother, she was always oblivious of what any of her family member was going through. At least, they should’ve shown some contribution from her side just to balance out but then it doesn’t matter now.

Sherry, like a gentleman understood the criticality of the circumstances & easily surrendered in front of his father’s demand. But hats off to Mariam for speaking up the truth & what was in her mind. I found her character the best amongst the female characters of the drama. All this while I was thinking it was only Mariam who could convince Mr. Kamal for doing the right thing because if the things went to Mrs. Kamal all she would have to say would be ‘ye tum kya keh rahay ho Sherry?’.

I absolutely love Mariam’s character & her power over convincing people for the right thing. I think she took over as a lady of the family & lead everyone out of their miseries whereas Mrs. Kamal was busy elsewhere. Finally, Mr. Kamal due to the position that Mariam held in his heart & in his household understood & granted what Sherry desired. The ending scene was done nicely too & they just showed that Zoya is sharing the same respect as Mariam being a daughter in law of the family. Anam’s apology settled the score & Zoya deserved that much of a respect.

Over all, it was a beautiful drama & I hate to see it end just like that without showing any more scenes between Sherry & Zoya. I so wanted to see them happily married & sharing what they have felt for each other since childhood. I must say of all the characters Sherry & Mariam were my favorite. Every other actor has done justice to their roles & they have given us a beautiful drama to cherish. I thank the whole team & especially the writer & the main leads of the drama for making this one so good for us all.

Thanks for your support all the fans & I will miss your weekly comments & appreciation on this particular drama.
Untill next drama review,

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,

Must-Watch Dramas On My List (Currently On Air)

0

What makes a play a must watch for you? Generally speaking, the ingredients that make a drama stand out are a well written script, good acting, good direction and quality production values. Having said that, I must add that there are rarely plays that have all these four qualities, therefore lowering ones expectations every now and then and compromising on a few things that may not matter that much depending on a person’s interest sometimes proves to be fruitful. I used to be very choosy before, there were many times when I gave up on a drama right after watching the first episode only because the production values did not seem up to the mark or the characters did not instantly click with me. That was such a bad idea; as a result I missed some great plays while they were on air like Kuch Pyar Ka Pagal pan, Dastan, Akbari Asghari and many others. The sole reason for not watching these plays was that I didn’t warm up to them right from the get go. Later, on the recommendation of friends when I watched these plays, I realized what I missed out on and decided never to give up on a play right in the beginning. So, I am what you can call a very patient viewer now, I give myself time so that a play can grow on me and two of the plays on my list in particular are the ones which did not click to me instantly.

I think these five plays are not to be missed in this season and if you have not been watching them, I highly recommend that you do. I am not going to rate the plays but would rather line them up alphabetically. However, if I were to rate them Talkhiyaan and Zindagi Gulzar Hai would top my list.

MW1Dil-e-Muztar

Yes Dil-e-Muztar has enough going on for it to make it a must watch despite of the minor glitches here and there. The story is nothing out of the ordinary but the direction is superb, the production values are worth raving about and the lead pair melts your heart. Sanam Jung, the talented  newcomer, literally lights up the screen with her beautiful smile. Her apt portrayal of an innocent naïve girl who is madly in love with her cousin is perfect. Dil-e-Muztar also marks the debut of Shehzad Kahsmiri as a director and he has definitely proved that he is very good at what he does. Imran Abbas makes his comeback to Pakistani television with this serial and is doing a brilliant job of playing his character. Sarwat Gillani is equally convincing as the neighbor who goes out of her way to help Adeel and Silla out in time of need.

Dil-e-Muztar is a love story which has been directed in such a way that it is nothing short of a visual treat. It may not have any outstanding dialogues but the storyline is sweet and simple and keeps you glued to your TV screens. It is definitely a must watch for all the hopeless romantics out there, your heart will go out for Silla in particular. Dil-e-Muztar has been written by Aliya Bukhari, directed by Shehzad Kashmiri and produced by MD productions. You can watch it Every Saturday at 8 pm on Hum TV.

MW2MW3MW4

MW5Mirat-ul-Uroos:

Mirat-ul-Uroos is one of those plays that gradually grow on you and you find yourself waiting for the next installment every week. When the play started it seemed repetitive and the characters appeared to be very black and white. I was afraid that it might be another story about sister rivalry but had faith in the writer. Mirat-ul-Uroos has certainly proved to be much more than just another story about two sisters who are poles apart. In a very apt manner it puts forward the plight of the middle class in our society. The different tracks are very relatable and the dialogues have Umera Ahmed written all over them.
In the beginning most of the leading actors seemed like total misfits but they seem very comfortable in their respective roles now. The story is unfolding nicely and the direction has been excellent too for the past few episodes. The production values fail to impress but overall it is a good effort and definitely worth catching up with. Mirat-ul-Uroos has been written by Umera Ahmed, Directed by Anjum Shehzad and produced by 7th Sky. It airs every Thursday at 8pm on Geo Entertainment.

MW7Silvatein:

This would be another play that failed to impress me in the first few episodes but I continued watching it only because it is a Samira Fazal play and we all know that Samira Fazal is someone whose intelligent scripts manage to entice you sooner or later. After fast forwarding the first few episodes, things started shaping up for me when Natasha got married, I really enjoyed her dilemma in the beginning and the character as a whole is as interesting as it gets!! She makes me laugh and makes my blood boil…love her or hate her but you want to see more of her. Watching Zeb and Mikaal having those conversations, which sometimes tend to go around in circles is thoroughly entertaining. Vasay Chaudhry is spot on as Mikaal and Amina Sheikh is the perfect Zeb. Mira Sethi makes her acting debut from this play and she fits perfectly in the role of a stubborn younger sister who thinks she can do no wrong!

Yes Silvatein is a story of two sisters who are completely different from one another and do not get along but the way it has been presented on-screen makes it a must watch. The fun and witty dialogues, interesting characters and the unpredictable storyline is what makes Silvatein a must watch play. Like all of Samira Fazal’s scripts, there are no heroes or villains in this play so you may find it difficult to side with one character in particular. The ‘competition’ between the two sisters makes for a very interesting storyline. Silvatein has been written by Samira fazal, directed by Sheherzaad Sheikh and produced by Six Sigma Entertainment. Watch it every Thursday at 8pm only on ARY Digital.

MW9Talkhiyaan:

Talkhiyaan is nothing short of a masterpiece. Watching the play is like watching a beautiful art movie; the scenes are breathtaking, the way it has been directed is equally spectacular and the characters leave you speechless. Sanam Saeed plays the character of Bibi beautifully although the character is so complicated. You will see Hina Bayat playing a completely different character in Talkhiyaan…Apo Ji is nothing like the sweet and subtle characters that Hina Bayat has been playing till now. Shamim Hilali is equally remarkable as mama ji; another character which has many layers. The drama touches upon many tabooed topics but does not bore you for a second. It has a lot of unexpected twists and turns which keep you hooked. The OST has been sung beautifully as well but sometimes it seems overpowering when you have to listen to the entire song in almost every episode. Talkhiyaan will take you in a world of its own and once you start watching it you wouldn’t want to stop. The child artists Mehre sagar and Sabina are simply brilliant as Jugnu and Zoyee. There are many new actors in the play like Sarmad Mirza, Summer Nicks, Adnan Jaffar and others. Everyone is extremely well-suited in their respective roles and the characters have been etched out beautifully.

Talkhiyaan has to be the most underrated drama of the season and deserves much more attention than it is getting. The prime reason for this could be that it airs on Express Enetrtainemt, which isn’t yet one of the few channels that are followed by the viewers more religiously. Talkhiyaan has been written brilliantly by Bee Gul, Directed by Khalid Ahmed and produced by Seema Razi and Raziuddin Ahmad. You can watch it every Sunday at 8pm on Express Entertainment.

MW12Zindagi Gulzar Hai:

Zindagi Gulzar Hai has to be the most viewed and also the most talked about drama of this season. The excitement with which many of us looked forward to the show was unmatchable. The play has given rise to some very interesting and heated discussions on gender roles. Zindagi Gulzar Hai is not just another love story but the play highlights the role a woman can play in a society and the difference she can make. Zindagi Gulzar hai has a very interesting storyline, we quote the dialogues from the play over and over again because they are totally worth it, the acting by all the characters big or small is spot on but the direction can be a little disappointing at times. There have been a lot of times when we have been left wondering about certain important events that should have been shown. Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed have done a commendable job and the rest of the actors are just as convincing.

Zindagi Gulzar Hai is a must watch because it has brilliant dialogues, an intriguing storyline and some great performances to its credit. Zindagi Gulzar hai has been written by Umera Ahmed, Directed by Sultana Siddiqui and produced by MD productions. It airs on Fridays at 8pm on Hum TV.

Which plays are must watch on your list and why? I would love to give the plays recommended by the readers a go.

Kaash Aisa Ho Episode 11 – Review

0

My heart went out to Irfa in this episode as she was left helpless and without any support by Shayan who is busy enjoying his own life. I cannot believe Shayan could turn so indifferent towards Irfa who is not only her wife but has been his true companion since his childhood. He is busy climbing the stairs of success and leaving his most beloved possession behind and running after fame and people who would never appreciate or love him like Irfa. He just does not care about Irfa or his child which is very disappointing. Shayan has always been self centered throughout his life and even now he is showing his selfish side by involving himself with Maleeha when he knows how hurt Irfa would be if he leaves her.

Shayan was in for a shock when Maleeha suddenly proposed him for marriage. He knew Maleeha liked him but he did not expect her to confess and propose so openly. The worst part is he did not decline the proposal but asked for some time to think about it! Deep inside his heart he does not want to betray Irfa but his own feelings had always been more important than Irfa’s. He has always taken her and her love for granted and does not realize her true value. He admitted to Maleeha that he has taken a hasty decision by marrying Irfa as he was not in the right frame of mind and needed emotional support at that time since his mother had passed away. His dialogues to Maleeha ‘Tum Mujhe Pehle Kiun Nahi Mili’ shows that he is just as interested in Maleeha as Maleeha is in him. He decides to go to Italy for whole two weeks even after Irfa told him how critical her condition is and how much she needs him by her side. But for Shayan roaming in Italy and enjoying his trip was far more important than Irfa. Irfa did not argue further as she knew it was of no use as Shayan would never understand or accept his responsibilities.

Irfa innocently asked Shayan if he would call her from Italy and he replied:

“Ager Tum Yaad Karogi to Mein Bhi Karunga”

Irfa: “Muhabbat Mein Mein Shartein Nahi Hoti, Tum Mujhe Nab Hi Yaad Karo Mein Tumhe Har Pal Yaad Karti Rahungi”

But alas, Shayan never bothered to call her as he was too busy enjoying his time with Maleeha. Even when Irfa’s condition turned serious and she had an early operation, he did not receive her call. Irfa has given up all hope on him now and has stopped waiting for his call. All she cares about now is her baby’s health and her well being. Saba Qamar stole the show with her brilliant acting and beautiful portrayal of emotions. She completely fits into the character of Irfa and you can see all the emotions through her expressions, she does not need to express her feelings through dialogues which is a quality that a few actors possess. She has come a long way in her career and has turned from a mediocre actor to one of the best in the industry.

Dr. Bilal has once again proved what a kind hearted person he is by helping Irfa in the worst situation possible. He took her to the hospital when her condition was critical and stayed at the hospital throughout the operation. He also provided her with moral support when she needed assurance from someone. I am sure he will always be there when she needs help and provide her with support.

Minahil attitude is still cold towards Irfa as she went to her house and told her to stay away from her husband again. This time Irfa got angry and Minahil sensed how upset she was and to make up for her rudeness she invited her for dinner. Dr. Bilal wants her to try to be friends with Irfa but she is in no mood to socialize and come out of her shell.

The show has become very slow. I hope the story moves to the next phase soon. Do share your views about the episode!

Keep watching!

A Few Suggestions For Our Drama Makers

0

Let me start by saying that I take pride in the fact that the Pakistani drama industry has come a very long way in the past few years in particular. Our actors, directors, writers, producers and technicians are doing a commendable job. There was a time when our drama industry lost its charm and many viewers started watching dramas from across the border. Our directors and producers also started copying those dramas and I still remember the days when we saw our actresses clad in saris and heavy jewelry all the time on-screen. But gone are those days, we are not following anyone’s lead now and that is exactly the reason why these dramas are not just being watched by Pakistanis living all around the globe but also by many people from across the border too. There are still certain shortcomings in some of our dramas or one can say that there is always room for improvement. So here are a few suggestions which I would want to give to those people who are involved with making our dramas. Please feel free to add to the suggestions and also give your opinion about how you feel about them.

If a story can be summed up nicely in less than 20 episodes then why drag it to 20 plus episodes? I think that this has to the biggest problem with most of the dramas nowadays, the story is dragged unnecessarily and even the most engaging of dramas tend to become repetitive and the story becomes stagnant. I think the editing should be crisp and none of the tracks should be lengthened unnecessarily. I remember Mera Naseeb and Durr-e-Shehwar were very few of those plays that kept me glued right till the end and when they ended I felt like everything had been wrapped up very decently. Other than that there is a long line of plays, some of which were immensely popular, which just seemed like they were being prolonged without a reason after 15 episodes or so.
The producers know that once a drama hits a home run with the public, they will watch it till the end even if few of the episodes are not as engaging and entertaining as the drama might have been as a whole. But I strongly recommend that this stretching of the storyline unnecessarily should stop because I am quite certain that many of the viewers would much rather not watch the few episodes that have very little content or action.

Dramas should have a clear focus; focusing on too many things can be difficult to handle both for the writers/directors and for the audience. Most of the plays that go on air nowadays bring to light many social issues; some deal with adoption, others with marital problems and there have been quite a few dramas recently that deal with the issues related to women folk in our society. It is obviously a great effort by those who work day and night to make these dramas but sometimes I feel like the writers are trying to highlight so many issues in one drama that none of the issues being discussed is given proper attention. The result is that these dramas fail to leave an impact on the viewers and we are left with confusion, more than anything else. I am all for multiple sidetracks in one drama as long the focus does not constantly keep on shifting from one to the other without keeping a balance.

Please stop promoting Stereotypes.
Sadly enough most of our plays promote many stereotypes for example a girl who wears Western dresses can never be as good as the one who wears shalwar kameez or a duppatta on her head. A Mother-in-Law hardly gets along with her bahu and most of the bahus are way too mazloom. Rich people do not have the religious values intact and now the latest trend has to be that the first wife is always evil and the second one is the victim. I think we should not promote such stereotypes in our dramas and maybe the next time a modern girl wearing jeans can be shown as someone whose family values are intact too. I am not saying that all of our plays promote these stereotypes but many of them do.

Background music should compliment the scenes and should not seem overpowering. In many of our dramas nowadays at times the background music is so loud that it is very difficult to make out what is being said. There are also plays in which almost the entire OST is played at least once. I know that a lot of effort goes into making these OSTs and some of them are so melodious too but I honestly feel like sometimes these songs playing in the background seem forced and unbearable.

Dramas with bold scripts should not be aired at prime-time. Prime time is the time when usually everyone would sit together to watch a play or if not that than most of the television sets are placed in a common room in homes so whoever is around will automatically take notice of whatever is on television. Some of the dramas that are being aired at prime time nowadays have very bold scripts and it would be better if they are shifted to a slot later in the night. They are not the kind of dramas that people can watch with their families; therefore the viewer ship for such dramas gets effected too.

Continuity bloopers should be avoided. I do understand that different scenes in a drama are shot at different times and sometimes there is a gap of months even between the shootings. This is the reason why we see all these continuity bloopers where a person maybe wearing different clothes in a scene and also sometimes some of the accessories are missing. These are minor glitches but ones that have a great impact on the audience. I think it should be the duty of the actors and directors both to ensure that these continuity bloopers can be avoided.

Are there any suggestions that you would like to give to the people who make our dramas? Please feel free to share them here and who knows someone out there may pay attention.

Dil-e-Muztar Episode 7 – Surrounded by Problems!

0

This episode was less exciting than the previous ones and a little slow at times but it was still very engaging. We got to see the entry of a new member in this show, Silah and Adeel’s son Affan and I must say he is adorable! Zoya stole the episode as she was the highlight of the episode. I am simply in love with her character. She adds a new dimension to the show and I always look forward to her lighthearted scenes. Her presence balances the emotionally charged scenes of the episode. The scene where she was looking at film star posters and listening to old songs made me laugh! Zoya’s character has a charm that makes you adore her and lastly, I love the music that plays in the background whenever she comes on screen. I personally do not think that she would turn negative. It seems like Adeel and Silah are her role models, she wants someone like Adeel in her life who would love her just like he loves Silah. They have set a standard for her and sometimes she cannot help but look at them and covet a life like theirs and maybe that is the reason why she refused the proposal of her cousin.

Adeel and Zoya have finally become friends and Adeel’s opinion about her has changed drastically after seeing how helpful and supportive she had been in such a bad time. Though, this did not prevent him from playfully taunting her about being at their house all the time. This time Zoya did get offended and stopped going to their house but Adeel finally excused himself and apologized and Zoya was back to her former self. I absolutely loved the scene where he apologizes to Zoya who seemed upset at first but let the matter go once he said sorry.

Silah got extremely upset when she woke up after her operation. She still was not able to accept that her father had died. She kept on crying and kept on repeating that her father was so upset with her that he did not even tell her how sick he was. He did not even talk to her once and passed away without forgiving her. She has a lot of guilt in her heart and Adeel and Zoya tried their best to console her. She misses her father and my heart went out to her when she was looking at her father’s photo but quickly hid it when Adeel called her as she did want him to see her upset.

Adeel has started taking extra care of Silah and I loved the scene where he made her have soup despite her protests. Another scene that I liked was when Affan was crying and Silah told Adeel that he has all your bad habits. He may turn out to be angry and stubborn just like you to which Adeel replied:

‘Mujhe Mein Kuch Achi Aadatein Bhi Hai

Maslan

Yeh Ke Mein Apse Bohat Muhabbat Karta Hoon’

The cute conversation between Adeel and Silah is always a treat to watch as the dialogues always manages to bring a smile on my face.

Silah seemed curious to know where all the money came from for her hospital bill and rent. Adeel tried to avoid answering Silah but finally told her that he sold his mother’s bangles and Silah got upset at this as she knew that those bangles were invaluable to Adeel. It seems like Adeel and Silah are faced by one problem after the other. Adeel lost his job because his firm was downsizing and now he is jobless with no way to support his family. Silah seems optimistic and tries to console Adeel that he will get another job very soon but it seems like they will soon face some major financial crises. The preview for the next episode hinted that there will be trouble in their paradise very soon.

I am looking forward to the next phase of their story as we are in store for some major twists and turns. Imran Abbas, Sanam Jung and especially Sarwat Gillani were brilliant in this episode. Even though Imran is not paired with Sarwat, their chemistry is still very good and I loved all their scenes in this episode.

Keep watching!

Alycia Dias – ‘An Emerging Star’

0

I am sure many of you would be aware of the name ‘Alycia Dias’ by now. It would be not wrong to say that she is the most hyped and ‘in’ singer nowadays as she has sung one of the most beautiful and melodious OSTs of recent times. She is known for singing both eastern and western songs to perfection.

Alycia started her career with the singing reality show Lux Awaaz Banaey Star which she won at the age of 17. Being too young at that time she chose to finish her studies before further pursuing her singing career. Last year, she made an official start of her career by making her first debut onstage with Nabila’s hair show for L’Oreal Paris titled Somptueux. She performed alongside musicians like Emu, Ustad Nafees Ahmed and Shallum Xavier. Alyicia took over and personalized Louis Armstrong’s version of La Vie En Rose, rendered Voltare in perfection and extended her natural vocals to narrating Dimitri’s ‘I’m a very stylish girl.’ Their live performance was appreciated and applauded by the audiences and she left the audiences spellbound by her deep and melodious voice.

Alycia Dias - 'An Emerging Star'

She then worked on two songs with the band ‘The Milestone.’ She sang the song Tumhi Ho which had a western touch to it with Ali Tim, member of the band and a popular singer of the 90’s. She then sang another song Aag with Ali Tim and Charlie. Both the songs were unique with a mixture of eastern and western tunes and lyrics and was liked and appreciated by audiences, though not on a very large scale.

alcia tumhi ho

“Ali Tim recommended me to Nabila and Emu. We had a few days to rehearse before the show and I was nervous at the night of the performance, though I tried to control my nerves to make sure it didn’t affect my voice. I always wanted to become a singer and this was like a dream come true,” said Alycia.

Performing live and making her debut on such a large scale was like a dream come true for Alycia and although she was nervous, her performance did not reflect it as she gave an absolutely flawless performance.

Despite having no professional training, Dias is no stranger to music. She has been performing at the homegrown Club 777 in Karachi and has been trained by her father through tedious vocal exercises. Her father, Maxwell Dias is in the field of music for the last 30 years and audiences remember him for playing with Zoe Viccaji. So we can easily say that music is in her blood and she was bound to come into this field one day or the other as she was passionate about music since the very beginning.

She came into notice on a massive scale when she started singing title songs of some very popular shows. The first title song I heard that was sung by her was the OST of Noor. People may dislike Turkish shows but nobody can deny that its OST is beautiful. She has a perfect pitch and toning in her voice which makes her voice flawless!

The next OST in line is the OST of Daagh which was again a huge hit!

“Kitni Bewajud Hai Zindagi, Ke Mein Hun Yeh Mujh Ko Yaqeen Nahi…..Yeh Tamaam Zindagi Daagh Hai”

The lyrics of this OST are beautiful and Alycia’s voice enhanced the effect of the beautiful lyrics.

alycia 1

Then came the absolutely spell bounding OST of the show Dil-e-Muzter which was very well received by the audiences far and wide. I hear everybody appreciating this beautiful OST which was penned down by Waqar Ali who is known for writing so many title songs of dramas in the past. Alycia turned out be very humble and gave the credit of the song to Waqar Ali as she posted this on facebook:

“Guys i think the credit for Dil e Muztar should go to mr.Waqar Ali.. cause he is the man behind all the hardwork that was put into the songs..from vocals to music /composition /editing.. im just a singer who sang it..he is the one who brought feel into Dil e muztar..and it wouldnt have been a sucess without him….:)”

The title song of the show Nanhi is also sung by her which is a unique song and with a different tune which is very catchy and makes you hum along. She has also sung the OST of the drama serial Fareb.

Alycia is very much in demand as she has made a name for herself at an age of 20 which is a feat in itself! We hope to hear more beautiful songs from her in the future and wish her best of luck!

Zindagi Gulzar Hai Episode 19 – Love Is In The Air!!

Wow!! This latest installment left me spell bound and I am at a loss for words. Let me start by confessing that I have been extremely stingy till now when it came to appreciating Fawad Khan’s power packed performance as Zaroon which left me awe stricken week after week. Fawad Khan truly is very gifted and he has completely nailed his character in this serial. He is a powerhouse of talent; surely someone who is the king of expressions and does not falter even for a minute. Scenes that would appear strictly okay on paper are turned into moments we fall in love with solely because of Fawad’s brilliant performances. Armed with the perfect combination of looks and talent, this gentleman will surely go a very long way. A special thank you to him for putting his best in all of his performances.

do you love meLove is in the air and whether Kashaf says it out loud or not the fact is that she is indeed head over heels in love with Zaroon. Kashaf’s insecurities and fears do not allow her to admit freely even to herself that she is in love with the man she despised once. Today’s episode had a lot of aww-going moments and some scenes really made me wonder what was in store for Zaroon and Kashaf next. There is absolutely no denying the fact that Zaroon Junaid will do everything in his power to change Kashaf from the unromantic person she is at least on the surface to someone who shows her feelings more openly. There were severalepisode 19 times in today’s episode when Zaroon told Kashaf what he expected from her. He wanted her to call him when he was on his way home to ask if he was okay and told her just that later on when they talked but Kashaf was still apprehensive when she went to open the door for him later and finally decided not to do it. Zaroon rightly thought that no one had been waiting for him “Mujhe koi asaar nazar nahi aa rahe” but he did not hold his feelings back and messaged Kashaf right away and both of them had the sweetest conversation. Zaroon Junaid is not afraid of telling Kashaf over and over again that he loves her and I am waiting for the time when Kashaf will finally learn to trust him because according to Kashaf “Shohar bun ker murd ziada naqabal-e-itebaar hote hei”…one can’t blame her for thinking this way given her circumstances. Zaroon, like a man madly in love waits for Kashaf to say those three words to him. Kashaf has gone from being “churail Murtaza” in Zaroon’s life to his “wife” and Zaroon has gone from being “leechar” to Kashaf’s “husband” and what a beautiful journey it has been!!

What Kashaf said to her mother about her being a working woman and how she will not be able to look after or care for Zaroon the way a housewife can was very alarming indeed. Will this attitude/thinking of Kashaf create problems between the two in the future? I could not help but wonder. The rose that Zaroon gives Kashaf reminds her of all the flowers he must have given the girls in the past, so Kashaf is still far from forgetting the past but despite of it all Zaroon has managed to make a very special place in her heart.

episodee 19

In the last episode Zaroon was complaining that they don’t talk enough but today we saw Kashaf and Zaroon talking about everything, from their past to present and even Asmara. The most interesting conversation had to be about Zaroon being a chauvinist and the reason why the engagement with Asmara ended. The way Kashaf explained to Zaroon what she expected from a marriage and the manner in which Zaroon told her that he didn’t want to take a backseat in any way, made for a very interesting conversation and what was more interesting was that Kashaf ended it by saying “ is topic ke bare mein hum dubara baat kare gay”. I would be looking forward to that particular conversation for sure!

ep19

Sanam Saeed matched Fawad Khan every step of the way today. Her expressions when Zaroon asks her if she loved her were spot on in particular. This had to be one of my favorite episodes of Zindagi Gulzar Hai till now; every scene was wonderfully executed and the credit for that surely goes to Sultana Siddiqui. Umera Ahmed’s dialogues were superb like always and I am sure we will be quoting a lot of them all week long. The next episode seems to be about Zaroon spending a night at Kashaf’s house…wish guaranteed?? But is it really what he had expected? We will find out only next week but the precap suggests most certainly not. It seems like Zaroon is in for a reality check in the next episode. Really looking forward to it.

Some of my favorite dialogues/scenes from today’s episode ,

“Fikar kurni chahyeh use meri, accident ho sakta hai mera. Koi pata thori hota hai aaj kul”

“Agar khawahish kur rahi ho tu mei kur sukta hun tumhare saath flirt

Tum ne aik dafa koshish tu kur li hai, Kia kamyab huvey? “

“Khidmat aur khayal ka totka tu hamesha kaam ata hai, har zamane mein”

“Mujhe nahi pata tha ke tum is qadar sust admi ho sakte ho”

 Kashaf’s biggest misconceptions,

“Apni zindagi mei anay wali hur achi cheez se dur lagta hai, mujhe lagta hai who aise hi khatam ho jai gi”

“Zaroon ko mere khyaal ki zarurat nahi hai, waise bhi us ka khayal rukhne wale buhat se log hei”

Do share your favorite dialogues and scenes from this latest installment.

Silvatein Episode 09 – Review!

0

I thoroughly enjoyed today’s episode as it has progressed a lot. The pace of the show seems spot on & each & every episode is promising something new with a little more interesting revelations which are definitely helping me getting hooked to this drama.

In today’s episodes, I actually found a few conversations beyond perfect & felt they had been written by heart. The first one undoubtedly has to be Munize-Mother conversation than that of Zeb-Mother’s & also Mikaal-Zeb conversation as well. I also liked how bluntly Munize confronted Zeb & the heated discussion of Bilal & Rayaan was done beautifully too.

I loved how Munize was actually for a second taking a back-seat & was running away from the mess she thought was created using her name but the way her mother without even listening to her side of the story, helped her with her wisdom that too subliminally was a high point for me in this whole episode. Finally, there was a time when we all got to see that Munize wants & needs to depend on someone too, no matter how dominant she might be or think of herself as an authority, she still has a few weaknesses when it comes to handling a situation.

It was good on her part to talk face to face with Zeb about the whole issue but she did not even listen to what Zeb had to say. Well, at that point Zeb, herself had nothing much to comment on because she knew she spurred a lie in front of Natasha which came out of a thin air due to Mikaal & her conversation, but a little did she know that how quickly it would materialize & will confront her as a reality.

Mikaal was right that Zeb should actually apologize to Natasha & her whole family but then again I do understand Zeb when she mentioned that she had no grounds to begin her apology with. She would actually sound like a dumb-headed person if she went over to Natasha’s place & blabbered about how Mikaal made a wildest guess about Rayaan’s situation. It was funny to see Zeb stir some fun in such a tensed moment too when she compliments Mikaal on how impressive he was with his assumption. I absolutely love their friendship & how they both compliment each other as friends, Mikaal is a true gentleman, who knows all the shortcomings of Zeb but is still madly in love with her.

Natasha seemed over the moon & was fluttering like a butterfly in the whole house because now she knows there isn’t even a single person in her in-laws who likes Zeb. She was insecure with Zeb’s friendship with Munize but now she knows it has gone down the drain too. That’s why she was all smiles because she knew that the ball is in her court & she has succeeded in taking over the Zeb fever that a few family members of her had. I loved seeing Zeb trying to act like nothing happened & she was not at fault rather she just presented her opinion about Rayan at what a failure he was.

To see Bilal in an awkward position was a sight, he did not know what actually happened but still was trying to undo his brother’s rage. The funniest was, Rayan also passed some analytical critique about Zeb but I am sure they both will grow over it & will definitely fall for each other. I am kind of glad that his non-existent wife Mahjabeen is already subsiding. One thing that struck me was Munize’s comment that Bilal quoted that she thinks we rejected Zeb that’s why she is trying to get her revenge. At that point, I was like URGH! She is one assumption queen. She has spent time with Zeb & that’s the last comment she should pass about her because Zeb is not that childish & she has stated over & over again that she is perfectly fine with the marriage of Natasha & Bilal.

Over all, the whole episode was totally interesting & I felt it should not end & just go on & on & on except the Dilawar case of course, because those few scenes were seem to be dragged with Zeb’s repetitive dialogues about Dilawar & his family’s mental state. A few dialogues no doubt shed a light on the reality beautifully but I hope this thing gets over ASAP. Can’t wait for the next episode as I am enjoying this one a lot more now.

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

Mirat-ul-Uroos Episode 21 – Hammad’s Betrayal

Hammad has finally moved out of the house and he feels guilty about moving out for the wrong reasons more than just moving out. Like always the guilt pangs came and went and failed to change Hammad’s thinking in any way. Like I said in my last review, had Hammad moved out solely because he and his wife needed some space it would have been perfectly okay but to move out because you do not want to help your parents financially is just plain selfish. Ayza is very materialistic and Hammad finds it impossible to put his foot down and take a stand on anything at all. I was actually very shocked and disappointed in him when he told his father that he could not afford to finance them in any way for the next two months. On one hand, he has a luxurious home and is inviting people over for lavish dinners every weekend and on the other he does not have any money to give his parents. Although, he knows only too well that his parents cannot survive without the money he gives them. Hammad’s parents’ reaction was very realistic, the way his mother tells him they can’t do without the money and the manner in which his father politely tells him off…very nicely done.

aima zain

We saw Aima being the perfect daughter in law and she did not let anything Rafia said change the way she felt about her new family. When Rafia was watching Aima teach Zain, I thought she may finally have a change of heart, well not just yet but I think she will change her opinion about Aima very soon. If Hashim does not get a job, I think it should be okay for Aima to work now until he finds a job because the dynamics in the house have completely changed. Ideally Hashim should lower his standards and take up any job he gets. Hashim is still being immature; asking his friends to find him a job with 50,000 salary, nothing less than that will do. I am glad Aima tries to knock some sense into him as often as she can but nothing Aima says seems to have any affect.

Aima hashim

Akbari continued to be the foolish and stubborn person that she is. Her obsession with Guddu is almost funny and I have to say that I have seen many such ladies who trust and depend on their servants more than their own family members. The conversation between Guddu and Daddi was a little too long and somewhat irrelevant as well but I enjoyed it nevertheless! The dialogue about the 8 o’clock drama was so right!! There are times when one longs to watch these plays when they go on air but the load shedding most often does not allow it.

Ayza and Hamnah have surely grown apart and Hamnah is much closer to Aima now. I have to say though that I couldn’t exactly figure out just when Hamnah changed “sides” and also her thinking. It would have been good if we could have heard from her just when she started feeling that Ayza was not as perfect as she thought she was.

ayza hammad

I was expecting Hammad to get tired of his wife’s farmaishi program once they moved out of the house but nothing like that seems to be happening anytime soon. We saw him complaining every now and then but he still continued doing whatever Ayza wanted him to. Hiring the servant that his parents had fired was another very unethical thing to do but he didn’t have much to say about that too.

This was a very engaging episode indeed but I want things to move on now…enough of moaning over Hammad’s “betrayal”.
