It gets annoying watching the same face over and over again. The whole overdosage scenario takes you to a point where you cannot differentiate between two projects the star is in. Here are some actors and actresses who are choosing far more projects and consequently are causing overdosage of themselves to the viewers:
Iqra Aziz:
Iqra Aziz has gotten a lot of success in relatively shorter time. She is getting a lot of projects and seems like she is accepting nearly every offer coming her way. She is seen in Khamoshi and Tabeer on HUM TV now while on ARY her Qurban recently concluded. With so many projects sometimes it becomes difficult to keep track of her performance and what happens is the overdosage of a single face in every second drama.
Aiman Khan:
Aiman has a unique style of performance and unfortunately, she does not change her style for different characters. Now she is starring in four dramas on television and the with a similar style keeping track and remaining hooked becomes an issue. She is starring in Kaif e Baharan and Ghar Titli Ka Par on Geo Entertainment, Ishq Tamasha on HUM TV and the recently started Bedardi on ARY. Aiman should also take a break from doing so many projects so that her audience can enjoy watching her and can relate to a character she is playing.
Affan Waheed:
Affan Waheed is also causing quite an overdosage with multiple appearances in dramas. His looks and dialogue delivery are same in nearly every play he does and consequently his multiple appearances can become a bit unbearable. With Khamoshi, Bedardi and Kahan Ho Tum, Affan also seems like accepting every other project coming his way.
Junaid Khan:
The singer turned actor has a very stiff acting style and he spots the same in nearly all of his projects since he gets the similar ameer bacha running a business kind of roles in every drama. After the conclusion of Tumhari Maryam recently on HUM TV, Ishq Tamasha started. He is also being seen in Silsilay, the recently started Khasara and promos are already up for Thays on A-Plus.
Shehroz Sabzwari:
Shehroz Sabzwari has also done multiple projects in the past year continuing in 2018. Unfortunately, none of the projects he has done has struck a chord with the audience. The reason is the monotony he has in playing different characters and his choice of projects also need some improvement. From Shikwa Nahin Kissi Se, Begangi, Teri Raza, Zard Zamanon Ka Sawera to the recently started Seep, Shehroz has been seen in multiple projects too.

Sami Khan:
We have seen Sami in so many projects in the last year and this year too and he has not caused a feeling of overdosage despite appearing in so many projects. He has been phenomenal and none of his characters looked similar. There has been a string of plays from Mushrik, Rasm e Duniya, To Dil Ka Kya Hua, Aisi Hai Tanhai, Khudgarz and now Woh Mera Dil Tha and Sami has kept his audience captivated and wanting more.
Amina Sheikh:
We have seen Amina in two dramas side by side that also on the same channel. Amina is a powerhouse and knows how to keep two characters non-similar for not making the audience confused and bored. Both of her characters Ayera in Khudgarz and Sofia in Nibah looked different and she was able to make the audience enjoy the respective plays. She also starred in Cake recently and her character was so different from her other work. She not only played it flawlessly but also didn’t cause the feeling that you already are seeing her in dramas and now the silver screen too. She kept both of the places differentiated and compact.
Zahid Ahmed:
Zahid Ahmed also does non-stop projects. But he has an eye for unique projects plus he knows how to make the portrayal of different characters differentiated from each other. He played Shuja in recently concluded Daldal while at the same time around we saw him in Tau Dil Ka Kya Hua. He is now playing Sarang in Pukaar and Akku in Visaal which both are airing on the same channel but Zahid always manages to keep his characters differentiated which results in the audience loving his dramas.

But many times actors start repeating a same formula because bhai ye bikta hai! What they need to understand is a great actor is whose work shows versatility. To become Leonardo di Caprio and Johnny Depp you have to up your game. Following is a list of Actors/Actresses who definitely need to show versatility as people love to see them and would love even more to see them doing different characters.
Humayun Saeed:
Yes Humayun Saeed is one of the biggest stars of our country. He has ruled the hearts of millions and has always managed to stay relevant and in news. But has Humayun ever shown versatility in his whole career. Maybe a few times as in Kaafir and Main hoon Shahid Afridi (this is mentioned because finally Humayun played a mature person; abba of Shehzad sheikh) but most of the times he is just there as a lover boy (though he is NOT a boy) with an intense smoulder on his face and talking to his heroines standing so closely that the poor soul cannot even breathe. It’s high time that Humayun should start doing roles which match his age and (please!) stop playing lady killer all the time. Humayun has his own production house so he must use it to produce some quality roles for himself.
P.S: He is playing villain in the upcoming movie Yalghaar! We as audience hope that he would experiment more.
Javed Sheikh:
He is a veteran of the industry but he has to understand doing similar roles all the time does not go well with the audience even if you are such a senior actor. Playing Ajeeb o Ghareeb and careless father makes his presence monotonous. Be it Wrong number, Jawani Phirr Nahin Aani, Karachi se Lahore and now I guess Mehrunnisa We Lub You he plays a similar role all the time. I think he should do some serious roles and challenge his forte. Plus the audience will love the change too!
Maya Ali:
She has shown the world what she is capable of in Aunn Zara and Shanakht but now a days the lady is just seen crying everywhere on the television screens. She cried during the whole Mann Mayal torture and before the Tsunami could go down she again played a cry baby in Sanam. Being a very young actress she has achieved a lot already but she needs to choose some intelligent roles and get away from the buckets she is filling with tears.
Sajal Ali:
She is also contributing towards the improvement of water shortage problem in Pakistan by crying rivers in each of her drama. Be it Aasmanon pe Likha or Chup Raho the lady is always crying. Sajal has a lot of potential which she showcased when she played Maha in the telefilm Behadd; she was so good that one would actually consider her to be a 13 years old teenager not because of her looks but because of her acting skills. Mohobbat Jaye Bhar Main is also an example where Sajal played her character fabulously. Sajal has to recognize her potential and she should do some negative, comical and definitely stronger roles than playing damsel in distress all the time.
Mikal Zulfiqar:
Mikal obviously has a lot of talent and recently he has picked up some intelligent roles but most of the times he plays a confused guy torn between two women and never able to figure out what to do with dear life as his characters are so innocent that they just couldn’t let any woman down but he does realize who he really loves in the last episode of the drama because although he is a confused guy but boy supports monogamy.
Mahira Khan:
She is a superstar. People love her personality and love every project she does but the fact cannot be denied that she always plays sweet, innocent, bubbly and Mummy aap kya keh rahi hain type roles. As much as she is admired by and influences the audience she should come up with some stronger roles. I think she should seek some inspiration from her contemporaries Saba Qamar and Sanam Saeed. Be it Ho Mann Jahan, Humsafar, Bin Roye and even Raees her roles are almost similar and being the star that she is she should change that.
Fawad Khan:
Many people would like to kill me for this mention but don’t you think Fawad has been doing the young generation Humayun AKA Lover Boy again and again. The difference just lies in the expression where Humayun has THE SMOULDER, Fawad has THE KILLER SMILE. We have seen Fawad’s potential in Khuda Ke Liye and we hope he will floor us with his performance in Maula Jutt and will shake off the extra chocolate of the chocolate hero image he carries.
The list would have included Ahsan Khan too but he broke the sterotypic casting with his famous rendition of Paa Imtiaz in Udaari! Others should take inspiration from him. This is my list of Actors and Actresses who need to show some versatility. Feel free to add more!

Hamza Ali Abbasi is a class in himself. We have all heard Hamza Ali Abbasi speak about the world, this country, its politicians and his undying loyalty for Imran Khan, but this interview was special because for the first time, he spoke in detail about his own self. Candid, honest and brutally truthful, Hamza tells that he was not always like this. He understands that people call him a hypocrite for criticising item songs, while he was the part of such he of scenes a few years ago. He admits to being a party animal, to being a womaniser and to being wild. So what brought about the change. For Hamza, it was the death of his father. The grievance made him so conscious about what he does with his life now. He spoke from the heart that death of a parent changes you, and he is so right. When someone so close to you leaves this world, all the sensitive souls turn back and reflect on their lifestyle choices. It also makes you fearless, like it did with Hamza. He has got nothing to gain and nothing to lose from being fake anymore. So he admits his flaws openly and even the fact that he is no saint even now. He said in the interview that he is slowly rectifying his faults but does not want to stop voicing his opinions because of people who call him a hypocrite.
He confided that brands approach him and request him to stop making political statement and appearing at such gatherings, so he can endorse them. As for Hamza, nothing means as much as the ability to be able to speak up for your beliefs. So, he refuses those brands. He believes what he is doing is right and that is all that matters to him. With a devil may care attitude, Hamza emphasises that he will continue to point out the flaws of the system. He believes in fulfilling his social and moral obligation to his people alongwith providing entertainment.
Talking of feminism and his statements on item numbers, Hamza sticks to his stance. He believes that they are just their to objectify a woman by showing men admiring their looks and moves. He gives examples that Bollywood blockbusters like Dangal, PK, Bajrangi Bhaijan, none had any item songs, so he proved his point that they are not needed for the movie to make a mark. He said that his mother is a criminal lawyer and his sister a dermatologist, so he comes from a family of achieving women and does not like to see women reduced to doing item numbers for movies.
In his own words, ““People love porn and it sells more than anything but does that make it right? Where do we make a distinction? We say porn is not okay, but if a woman is saying ‘mein supari hoon, chaba ley mujhe’ that’s okay? I think it’s a genre of porn”.
His choice of movies is now Parwaz Hai Junoon and Maula Jutt because they have to offer something new. He said he wanted to be part of the Air Force movie, because they make movies rarely, unlike the ISPR. On a humorous note, he added that he has had to shave due to being casted opposite Hania Amir and he didn’t want to look like her chacha. However, when she came dressed and made up, it made her look older so the difference evened out.
On a concluding note, he added that he has no intention of becoming a politician. He just wants to influence people by sticking to what he believe is right, and for that it does not matter to him who is against his opinion. He said he does not count lost films, media projects and brand endorsements because he has faith in God, and in his opinion that alone is enough to keep a person happy and content in any situation.

Her show Brunch with Bushra was one of the best shows on air at that time. She always had the passion to sing and she has been seen singing on various occasions. She was often seen singing in her show ‘Brunch with Bushra.’ She has a beautiful voice which everyone admired and praised. She always preferred to sing old songs and has sung the famous song ‘Kuch Dil Ne Kaha’ which was originally sung by the Indian legend Lata Mageskar. This song was the OST of the drama Kuch Dil Ne Kaha which was written by Bushra herself. A huge loss for Pakistani drama industry comes as veteran actor Tanveer Jamal passed away in Japan today. The actor was getting treatment for cancer in Japan where he moved after getting diagnosed for the second time. Tanveer Jamal was diagnosed for cancer for the first time in 2016 but went into remission after treatment.
His cancer recurred for the second time this year. He had to move to Japan for treatment of his condition. The actor had asked his fans for prayers so he could make recovery. But he left this mortal world today while undergoing treatment.
Tanveer Jamal had a 35 year long illustrious career and he gave many hits in his life time including Raaz e Ulfat, Fitoor and Mohlat.

Talking about divorce, Tamkenat said, “I didn’t face anything after divorce because people knew that me and my family were strong, I had a nervous breakdown after which I took the decision to take divorce because I was told that my mental condition is deteriorating because of that relationship. It wasn’t physical abuse. I was in a marriage for ten years and nobody wants divorce without reasons, I am sure there are the valid reasons behind every divorce and it was my decision to take divorce because things were not good between us and the situation was heading towards divorce”. Now everyone knows me, they watch me—my kids, their classmates, their family, and my ex-husband and his family. Everybody will hear me if I say anything about my marriage, so, why would I speak against him?
