Ajay Devgan, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Ammy Virk and Nora Fatehi starrer Indian film Bhuj is yet another Propaganda film which is made by Indian producers to get the audiences’ praise and to inculcate the element of patriotism in them. Previously, they used to make such movies more often till the real incident of 27th February 2019 happened between Pakistan and India.The skirmishes started in 2019 eventually led Pakistan to win.
Pakistan didn’t hear any propaganda after that but now India has just released the trailer of another propaganda movie Bhuj, which is featuring the war time between Pakistan and India in 1971, showing Pakistan as the war starter.

It was Pakistan’s Independence Day yesterday and like every year civil awards were announced for Pakistanis from different walks of life. In the last few years, there has been a lot of controversy on who was getting these highest civilian honours, especially on people from the showbiz industry. Adnan Siddiqui is the veteran and one of the most popular Pakistani actors of all time. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that he has instilled values to our entertainment industry from its inception. With MOM, he has also proved his mettle across the border too.
In his recent interview with the Indian publication IANS, Siddiqui shared his experience of Mom and the reviews that he has received in Pakistan:

Kumail Nanjiani, famous for his character Dinesh in the award-winning show ‘Silicon Valley’, has received the CinemaCon Comedy Star of the Year Award.
According to a statement, CinemaCon, the official convention of The National Association of Theatre Owners was held from March 27-30 at the Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
Nanjiani was presented with this special honour at the Big Screen Achievement Awards ceremony held on March 30.
“Kumail has already made his mark on TV with the award winning ‘Silicon Valley’ and on the big screen in such films as ‘Fist Fight’ and ‘Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates’ in which he gave one of the most memorable messages of all time,” said CinemaCon MD Mitch Neuhauser.

We have heard about Pakistani stars working in Indian films and earning tremendous fame, but many known Pakistani stars have also worked in Hollywood projects.
The recent one to leave a mark in Hollywood is Kumail Nanjiani, a Pakistani-American, who never imagined that one day he would be a leading actor in a Hollywood movie. But this is what has happened as the 39-year-old comedian landed his first acting lead role in a romantic-comedy movie called ‘The Big Sick’.
The movie revolves around the story of a 39-year-old comedian who meets an American girl, Emily Gordon, and falls in love with her leading to marriage. The movie is set to hit cinemas on June 23.
The movie is filled with quirky, funny and relatable scenes and is sure to be a hit among the crowds.
Nanjiani and Gordon co-wrote the script and filmed the movie long before Trump became the president, and the difficulties which Muslims are facing has given a boost to the film.
“Obviously it would be great if our movie came out and people didn’t see it as a political statement because it really isn’t. It is just a love story and a comedy,” Nanjiani was quoted as saying by Variety at the Los Angeles premiere.
The movie was first shown at the Sundance Film Festival and its distribution rights were acquired by Amazon for a reported $12 million, which is termed as being one of the biggest deals in Sundance history.
Universal studio is all set to make a buddy cop comedy movie that’s so far untitled. Ruben Fleischer also known for Zombieland and will next direct Venom is said to be directing the movie while co-producing it with David Bernad. Murray Miller, the writer-producer of HBO’s Tour De Pharmacy and 7 Days in Hell will write the script.

Faran Haroon Tahir is a Pakistani-American actor who appears in American television series and films. He happens to be the son of veteran Pakistani actor Naeem Tahir. He is best known for his recurring role as Rhys Bashir in American Crime but has also starred in movies like Iron Man, Star Trek, Escape Plan, Elysium along side names like Robert Downey Jr, Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Matt Damon and more.

Not a single day has passed with ease and no tension after the inception of two countries Pakistan and India in 1947. The two have always kept some long lasting grudges against each other for any reason. Recently the athletes of Pakistan were made victim of this long rift between these two and recently Indian extremist group Bharti Janata Party BJP has warned Pakistani writers not to enter the soil of their mother land India to attend Jaipur Literature Festival or face the dire consequences.
According to the recent updates BJP in their threat have made advancements and now total 7 writers from Pakistan are literally banned to enter the India to attend the festival. This harsh behavior from the BJP was seen when work of seven Pakistani writers including some prominent names like Jamil Ahmed and Mohammed Hanif are shortlisted in 2013 festival for certain award category. Actions of hatred and hostile behavior are always condemned and opposed by the sane mind and these actions taken by the BJP is one of them. Nadia Khan has been criticizing the direction Pakistani dramas have taken in the past few years. She criticized the new trend of showing two marriages like it was something very common in Pakistan and she also criticized dramas which were showing illicit relationships openly. Junaid Khan and Ushna Shah were Nadia Khan’s guests in her show few days ago. Junaid Khan played the role of a wife beater in Mata-e-Jaan Hai Tu and Ushna Shah’s character in Dua did Halala with Junaid Khan’s character. Both these actors have done things in dramas which Nadia Khan was criticizing. When asked why our dramas were showing such things Junaid Khan said,
“There was time when there was only PTV and when dramas like Dhoop Kinaray and Tanhaiyan went on air families used to watch television together. Things have changed now, now only women watch Pakistani dramas. The audience has totally changed. These women are the ones who derive all the ratings so whatever they demand is written by writers and these are scripts that are being executed on television.”
Unlike Junaid Khan Ushna Shah did not agree with going with the popular demand she said,
“I disagree with that because as people in the media we have a collective responsibility to educate the people.”
To this Junaid Khan added,
“In order to educate the masses the channels have to come out of that race of TRPs. When dramas are not getting ratings, the channels change the formula immediately, they cut whatever is going on and go with the formula that brings in ratings.”
Answering the question what this formula is Junaid Khan said,
” I have seen many plays which are very controversial but they get very popular. Our women criticize these plays but also watch them. When you’re watching a content then you are making it a hit. Even on social media they post controversial content on purpose because people share such content. People discuss it even if it is to call it bad. Even if you write a single sentence regarding something you are adding to its popularity even if that sentence is not in favor.”
In a way Junaid Khan said that viewers were to be blamed for the deterioration of dramas. Here are some pictures from the show:
Barzakh is a Zee Zindagi series. It is directed and written by Asim Abbasi who is also famously known for his film Cake and his Zee Zindagi web series Churails. Barzakh cast features Fawad Khan, Sanam Saeed, Muhammad Fawad Khan, Khushhal Khan, Uzma Beg and Salman Shahid. The series has been shot in the beautiful locations of northern areas of Pakistan.
So far, three episodes of Barzakh have been published on YouTube. The first episode has garnered 2.2 million views, the second episode 776 thousand views, and the third episode 288 thousand views. Barzakh’s views have massively decreased after the release of the later episodes because many Pakistanis revealed that the series didn’t resonate well with them because it promotes something that is against the Islamic teachings.
Well, Barzakh is facing severe public backlash for its bold narrative. Viewers are angry on the Pakistani actors who worked in Barzakh which openly promotes the LGBTQ agenda that clearly goes against Islam. The series is also receiving criticism due to the involvement of Indian makers. Fans feel that these makers are deliberately promoting the same themes which they are promoting in their own dramas and films. Fans are of the view that if Pakistani creators will continue to collaborate with Indian drama makers, Pakistani dramas will also see a decline like Indian dramas. Fans are also angry at the critics who wholeheartedly promoted Barzakh. They are expressing dissatisfaction and stating that the critics need to first go through Islamic teachings before defending it. Also see the clips of critics about Barzakh who are promoting it.
We have all watched the American and Indian versions of Fear factor, now Pakistan is coming up with its own version which will be aired soon on ARY. Fear Factor is a reality game show in which different people or celebrities participate and perform stunts that usually are very extreme in nature. It is about time that Pakistan came up with its own version of this very popular show because it will give the Pakistani viewers a good dose of reality TV.
According to the details, the shooting of Fear Factor Pakistan is being done in Thailand. The contestants comprise of six Indian and six Pakistani actresses. The show is going to go on air next year. The Indian actresses who are participating in the show include Leena Jumani, Melaine Pais , Shafaq Naaz, , Priyal Gor , Hritu Dudani and Priyamvada Kant.
The Pakistani actresses participating in the show are Mehwish Hayat, Madiha, Zeba, Sana, Sana Askari, and Ayesha. Sounds very interesting indeed!
According to the news Shafaq Naz was the first one to get eliminated because she was the weakest contestant. Leena Jumani hurt herself and had to quit the show. According to the news most of the actors were not available to comment on the show but Leena Jumani confirmed, “I got hurt in the game show, therefore I quit in between and came back but it was an wonderful experience to shoot in Thailand.”
This Tuesday Pakistani Twitter was enraged when the editor-in-chief of Newsweek Pakistan issued a series of tweets minimising child sexual abuse and made lewd comments to female critics.
Faish Ahmed, a former staff writer at the Wall Street Journal, tweeted:
“The sexual abuse of children will always exist. You can never eliminate it. Sometimes it leads to great art. So there’s also that.”
The comment was Ahmed’s take on the current furore in Pakistan surrounding the rape and murder of 12 children as young as 6 years old by a serial killer in the city of Kasur.
The Newsweek journalist also appeared to think it was a good thing that the killer’s victims were all female, tweeting:
“On the bright side, at least he’s straight.”
Ahmed also made light of rape more generally, joking,
”Rape by, say, Tom Cruise is everyone’s dream come true”,
and suggesting that sexual assault by Harvey Weinstein would be rape but sexual assault by cricketer Imran Khan would not be, “because one is ugly and one isn’t.”
Asked if he would make the same comments about child abuse producing “great art” regarding slavery, Ahmed asserted:
“Slavery did lead to incredible art. No questions there”.
People called him out for making a mockery out of child abuse. Alyssa Milano, the American actress who initiated the #MeToo campaign, tweeted to Newsweek about Fasih.

Fasih Ahmed also happened to be a board member of Lahore Literary Festival so this sparked a call for a boycott of LLF until Ahmed was removed from the board and later the LLF announced that Fasih Ahmed has resigned from the board of the Lahore Literary Festival.
Ahmed later issued a public apology on Twitter:
My tweets of yesterday were coming from anger, were poorly phrased, and misread. I’m sorry to have upset the people who have survived child abuse. I have been angry at the conspiracy of silence around this evil. #MeToo#StopChildAbuse
Personally I do not understand how those words can be excused in the name of “dark humor” and neither did the rest of the twitter so they didn’t stop until they made LLF remove Ahmed from the board. Let this be a reminder that be it Pakistani Elite or criminals with Political support no one is off the hook and if we stand together we can hold people accountable for their actions. Let it be known that their actions have consequences.
Ramadan 2025 is here and Muslims all over the world are ready to fast and receive the blessings of Allah SWT. This month marks the most important time for Muslims in the year and feasts are served, loved ones are invited over and camaraderie is developed throughout the 30 day period. Pakistanis also celebrate this month in their own way and like all walks of life, the television industry has developed patterns which are specific for the arrival of Holy Month.
Though many argue that Ramadan should strictly be about praying and worship but others think that since timings are changed and families dine together, some entertainment will bring them closer and thus special shows are developed for families to sit together and enjoy. Here are some special masala ingredients that have become a staple for Pakistani television every Ramadan:
Rom-com & Family Dramas
Suno Chanda became the pioneer of Ramadan dramas trend. These shows always have similar stories with a huge family and love between cousins. They are aired for 30 days and end with a mega episode on Eid. Many fans wait for these shows throughout the year as they are non-toxic and fun to watch. But unfortunately they have become a saturated market and every channel comes up with their own set of shows, sometimes three which look repetitive and fans have been losing interest. This year again we have dramas like Dil Wali Gali Mein and Ishq Di Chashni lined up and fans have some expectations from the teams behind these dramas.
Another argument against these shows has come up that they only promote love and marriages and there is seldom anything that relates to the spirit of Ramadan. There is not much about the spirit of Ramadan in these dramas and they are focused on a guy and girl dying to get married.
Shaan e Ramzan
Shaan e Ramzan on ARY Digital has become the longest-running Ramadan transmission on Pakistani television. You will see the same hosts Waseem Badami and Iqrar ul Hassan on your news channels the whole year but suddenly there will be a personality change and the Ramadan hosts in them will come out. The transmission will run for 30 days with different segments and participants in sehar and iftar. One thing that now has nostalgia is the main theme anthem sung by late Junaid Jamshed and late Amjad Sabri. Shaan e Ramzan has definitely become a main ingredient of Ramadan time television in Pakistan.
Viral Kids
This is a topic that generated a lot of debate in Pakistan. Last Ramadan we saw the usual gang of Shah brothers on Shaan e Ramzan and Jeeto Pakistan. In addition, other kids that were going viral were also invited to these transmissions and different channels were showing different viral kids. The phenomenon increased so much that questions were being raised about using these children for TRPs. This practice has become common place now and it is an important ingredient for Ramadan in Pakistan every year.
Celebrity Hosted Transmissions
Like every year, your favourite stars will be seen hosting special Ramadan transmissions on different channels. Some fans will love watching them for a month straight while others will question their credibility to host a show based on Islamic teachings. Debates will occur, to and fro will go on, viral clips will emerge but the stars are here to host these transmissions and they will get their required TRPs.
The Dupatta Debate
Yes, Ramadan 2025 is here and all your favourite starlets will wear a dupatta as a sign of respect. This starts a whole debate every year but has also become a necessary masala for Pakistani television during Ramadan. Wearing a dupatta is one’s own choice but people will keep questioning the ones who will wear a dupatta for wearing it and those who won’t wear it for not wearing it. Kya Drama Hai is a 24 New HD show which is especially designed to review top Pakistani prime time dramas. The dramas are judged or reviewed by three senior Pakistani television artists which include Nadia Khan, Atiqa Odho and Shamoon Abbasi. The show is hosted by Mukarram Kaleem who is a former actor. The show always makes headlines for its extremely negative reviews for hit television dramas and top Pakistani actors. Nadia Khan and Atiqa Odho have previously slammed hit dramas like Meem Se Mohabbat, Bismil, Sunn Mere Dil, Jaan Nisar and Ishq Murshid.
Lately, Nadia Khan, Atiqa Odho and Shamoon Abbasi have unanimously criticized Ayeza Khan and Feroze Khan’s new drama serial Humraaz.
In the show, Nadia Khan said, “Humraaz drama might have been watched more if it had been released in the old days, when there was no internet, no cable channels, no mobile phones, no activities, no friends, and no other form of entertainment and a person would have been forced to watch only this drama. Only in such a case could this drama have been watched. It can only be a forced watch”. Nadia Khan also called it 2025’s worst and badly directed show.
Humraaz viewers are quite angry at Nadia Khan and the Kya Drama Hai team for their unnecessary criticism of Humraaz. Ayeza Khan and Feroze Khan are being defended by fans, who feel the judges are being unfairly critical of actors and drama makers. One fan wrote, “Nadia Khan always speaks against Geo TV dramas. You can check the history of her shows — she is consistently against Geo TV productions. She is okay with other channels” Another commented, “Nadia Khan always targets a new drama. She speaks so nonsensically against a TV show, and the other judges start shaping their opinions based on hers. They should have some mercy on people’s hard work and effort.” A fan remarked, “Look at them — they’re saying Ayeza looks old. Whatever she looks like, she still looks younger than Mehwish Hayat.” Another wrote, “It’s a Feroze Khan drama, and it will be a hit despite their obnoxiousness.” Someone else said, “Even cricket commentary isn’t this ruthless. Shyra Roy is Pakistani actress, singer and model. She is popularly known for her singing and acting in Bollywood movies. She acted in Street Dancer 3D and Mohenjo Daro. She has sung a few songs for Bollywood too. In Pakistan, last year she released song Kamli along with singer and actor Mohsin Abbas Haider. Besides this, she has mostly worked in Bollywood. While replying to the question, “How was your experience working with Hrithik Roshan?”, Shyra said, “I didn’t know that the movie was with Hrithik Roshan, I was in the University when I got a call for a cameo role in a film, I thought that I will be having a good stipend money and it will be a memorable experiece too so I said ‘yes’ to it, when I first saw Hrithk, I was shivering, he had to come in to the car and had to drive it too fast and I had to act scared, as per the script, in that whole scene, I was in shock and awe of him, it was huge moment, I was nervous because it was an unbelievable experience. Fatima Ali is a chef based in New York. She is only 29 years old and is the first Pakistani ever who won the culinary show Chopped. She is a certified chef who studied in the Culinary Institute of America and later worked in many big restaurants. Fatima also later became a contestant on Top Chef. Last year, tragedy hit when she was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma which is a bone cancer. She fought it and defeated it in July.
Her cancer, however, has relapsed and has been declared terminal by the doctors. Fatima just has one year left of her life. But instead of retreating and crying, she has decided that she will make the best of her time and will be fulfilling all her wishes. Her story also caught the attention of TV show host Ellen DeGeneres. Ellen invited Fatima on her show and also gifted her 50,000 dollars so she can fulfil her wishes of dining at the best restaurants in the world and travel. Here is her interaction with Ellen:

Fatima Ali who was a contestant on the last Top Chef was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma in the last stage of the disease. The young woman took it in stride and did not falter one step as she went out to fulfil all she could in the time she had left.
Fatima also met Ellen Degeneres and was trying her best to be strong and happy in her last days. The young lady has left this mortal world as she lost the battle against cancer. Fatima inspired millions by the way she faced her disease and spread smiles. Her family posted a statement after she died and asked all her admirers to learn from Fatima how to live:
