Ohkay so, I am glad that in this episode, the grand wedding was finally wrapped up, which means the story will move forward & the focus will be shifted on the lead characters. Although Farhad & Mahi definitely were running the show but the wedding was definitely the focal point right from the beginning. I am not too sure how I should feel about the pace of the drama because so far it seems quite slow & not a lot is being given away about the characters. It feels like even after the 4th episode, the characters are still being introduced.
Farhad Getting The Limelight
One of the best moments of this episode was the conversation between Rida & Farhad. It was nice to see Rida in a different light where she showed her emotions & spoke about how she always longed for a brother. Although it did look a little sudden but better late than never. I wish the scene had started on a positive note because to see Rida screaming at Fakira was off-putting. This is what I have felt about Mahi too when she literally talks down with Fakira, without even paying heed to the fact that she is older than her & only on that basis deserves some respect. It was interesting to note that a situation that could have gone wrong turned out to be so positive because even Nisar got to know what his daughter was feeling.
Mahi & Farhad continued to be around each other with Farhad thinking about her & Mahi being totally engulfed in Rida’s wedding & everything related to it. Farhad’s feelings at this stage make him look a little immature where just because Mahi decided to befriend him, he thought there was or there could be more to it. Mahi has never given him mixed signals & for him, he was just a friend. I also feel the little introduction that Mahi’s family got was about how she belonged to a conservative & orthodox family, therefore for her to be so casual while dealing with a complete stranger during Rida’s wedding can be a little odd. I feel at this stage the viewers should definitely get a lot more insight into the characters to actually understand what their mindset & thought processes are.
Naheed is definitely not coping well with the idea that she saw Farhad with some girls. His changed behavior on top of it is also making her nervous to the point that she is looking for a lot more clarity but instead is not getting what she wants. Farhad is pre-occupied & she is trying to figure out one chance to have a conversation with him. In this episode it seemed Farhad’s sister picked up on what Naheed was up to, this is why she even smiled when she thought of the two together.
Nisar definitely has a soft corner for Farhad. He was quite impressed with his honesty & work ethic but after hearing the conversation he & Rida had, Nisar obviously has started seeing Farhad as his son. This equation definitely is nice because it is going to contribute in the later stages of the story with Rida & even Nisar being on Farhad’s side when he’ll be needing it the most.
Sikandar has lost his wife & he is a father of two kids. Their family also needs some more introduction. So far it is mostly about their mother wanting her sons to get married. As much as I like Hina Bayat’s take on Siraiki accent, I feel her sons should’ve also put in some effort because when she is the only one speaking such heavily accented Urdu, the scene loses an impact when the characters around her do not speak the way she does. It would’ve made them all coherent as a family which I feel would’ve definitely made an impact.
So far, this has been established that this season of Khuda Aur Mohabbat is going to be very different but the only thing I wish was that the characters & their personalities, their emotions were elaborated a bit better because it seems the focus on making it larger-than-life was so much that somehow it didn’t really give me much to connect with the characters as such. At this stage, it just seems I am watching a story of some of the characters without knowing much about them & when it comes to Hashim Nadeem’s dramas, he always makes sure that all of his characters stand out right from the beginning. I can only hope that I get to know the characters better in the episodes to come.
The Journey’s About To Begin
This episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat was definitely good, it does qualify to be a good entertainer but I am definitely looking for that essence, that depth which Khuda Aur Mohabbat series has been known for. Feroze Khan as Farhad is definitely impressive & Iqra Aziz is doing the best she can as Mahi but I wish there is more to her than just a loud, boisterous girl who is a bit too carefree. The last interaction of Mahi & Farhad was unexpected. Mahi didn’t think before mistaking Farhad’s intentions. It just goes to show that she never really saw him as someone she’d hold a high opinion of. For her, he was just a random guy she met therefore when she felt uncomfortable, she let him know & didn’t give much thought to it. Farhad on the other hand seemed rattled because he never expected that Mahi would misjudge him, or she actually could do such a thing. This entire misunderstanding was nicely done because it showed how both Farhad & Mahi had different mindsets & how they both perceived the equation they have shared over the last few days.
The preview showed that Farhad is seriously going to pursue this & with this, I really hope his journey kickstarts where he will be met with different obstacles. The first one which he failed to understand was where Mahi just walked over him & didn’t even give him a chance to explain himself. Anyhow, with so many people at the Qawwali night, I expected to see more at Mehndi & Barat functions but it ended up looking like an intimate ceremony being attended by close family & friends. Once again, I live for the aerial shots that they show throughout the episodes, those are definitely my favorite. I am also hoping to see the essence of different cities being brought to life on my TV screen in the episodes to come, let’s see if that happens. This was yet another engaging episode of Raqs-e-Bismil with some powerful performances and emotional scenes to its credit. The turn Sakina’s track took was predictable but this entire development was covered logically. The role Moosa played in this whole scenario was definitely the highlight of this episode since it was a turning point for Sakina. This was also the scene that yet again showed Imran Ashraf’s versatility and Anoushay Abbasi’s impressive acting skills. The director Wajahat Rauf deserves a lot of appreciation for ensuring that all the scenes are always short and to the point without compromising on the details and authenticity of the scenes. Hashim Nadeem’s characterizations stand out more than anything else since all these characters have some surprise or the other in store. Raqs-e-Bismil’s characters are as real as they get and the story has been compelling throughout. Moosa and Esa’s bond continues to be the most heart-warming aspect of the drama. Moosa is an unconventional hero – another feather in the cap of Imran Ashraf – who has nailed many such unusual lead roles!
Latest Developments and Their Impact
The opening scene of this episode set the mood for a power-packed episode. After weeks of watching Moosa sulking, it was great watching him bounce back because he knew he couldn’t ignore Sakina’s next move. This time around he intervened to save a sister and not to hold her responsible for breaking the rules set for her by the family. He instantly picked up that Sakina was planning something when he saw the driver taking those things to her friend’s house. Moosa might be lost in love but when it comes to things that matter, he is completely aware of his surroundings. It was shocking when he actually fired on those men but then it also made this scene even more impactful. He has always been shown as a fearless man who does not think twice before acting on his impulses. Imran Ashraf’s acting in this particular scene was simply outstanding; the anger in his eyes reflected a brother’s love for his sister more than anything else. He was there to protect Sakina this time around therefore this situation was completely different from the last time he barged in when Sakina was getting married. There have been quite a few instances when Moosa has reminded me of Adam, perhaps because I am finding it really difficult to forget Adam! This was another one of those times. Adam also rescued everyone around him who needed saving and tonight Moosa did the same for Sakina.
Moosa and Sakina’s conversation afterward showed how much had changed in these few months. I was hoping that Moosa would ask Sakina to take her buddua back but he did not do that. However, everything he did clearly indicated that he understood her situation more now than ever. His love for Esa was another reason why he decided to keep this a secret. This scene was so different from the one we watched in the first episode and it showed just how far Moosa had come. His character development has been so convincing and a journey in its own right. The change in Sakina’s attitude, later on, was just as logical and it was obviously really pleasant watching Esa happy for a change. Esa has to be the most likable character in the drama and I am so glad about the turn Sakina’s character has taken. If Esa ever finds out the truth he will be heartbroken! This is another interesting element of this track since most of us wouldn’t want Esa to find out what exactly happened.
Moosa constantly keeps on telling Esa to take care of the family and to be the son he couldn’t be for them. He is completely aware of how he has let his father down and deep down feels guilty. Esa has always looked up to his brother therefore even though his father keeps on telling him to treat Moosa differently, he cannot do that. These brothers share such a special relationship even though their personalities are poles apart. Momin Saqib and Imran Ashraf’s superb performances and the on-screen chemistry both these actors share have definitely contributed to the beauty of this relationship.
There was also interesting progress in Zohra’s track with Shehryar making the move he was planning to in the previous episode in order to put pressure on Zohra to accept his offer. Right now it is impossible to predict what turn this track will take. Will Zohra eventually decide to marry him or find another way out? Moosa continues to be the center of Zohra and Chanda’s discussions but even now it is impossible to tell how Zohra actually feels about him. There are times when it seems as if she is fascinated by his deewanapan. Sitara’s love for Moosa is just as intense as Moosa’s love for Zohra because even after finding out everything, she is not willing to let go. I am waiting to watch what impact Sitara’s meeting has on Zohra.
Final Remarks
This latest episode of Raqs-e-Bismil belonged to Moosa (Imran Ashraf) in particular and also to all the other characters and actors who made Moosa’s track extremely impactful. Moosa’s character and his journey truly stand out so far. This drama goes to show what a big difference suitable casting can make. There isn’t a single actor in Raqs-e-Bismil who has been typecast but at the same time, none of these actors are misfits. All of them fit perfectly into their respective characters which makes their tracks easy to connect to. It also goes to show the director’s vision and confidence in his skills. This was definitely one of the best episodes of Raqs-e-Bismil.

Ayesha Jahanzeb further said that my mother raised me like both mother and father, she was a shy woman but still she did not let me miss my father for the rest of my life. “I like strong women from the beginning, I like my aunt very much because she is a strong woman,” Ayesha added.
Former cricketer and commentator Shoaib Akhtar said he was “really, really angry” after the Pakistan Super League 2021 (PSL 2021) was postponed earlier in the day due to players testing positive for coronavirus. Shoaib Akhtar has lashed out at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and its medical panel after the postponement of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season six.
Taking to his social media account Shoaib mentioned that “These people couldn’t maintain a bio-secure bubble for such a high profile tournament, sad. Those who never organised tape-ball cricket are organising PSL! Those who don’t even know how to write prescriptions, can you believe it? This has happened with me, with the PCB doctors,” he said.
Visibly annoyed, the veteran Pakistani cricketer commented on how the image of the sport was dented across the globe. “So again I’m really, really angry that the PSL brand came to a stop and was ruined and its reputation damaged. “What message are we sending to the world?” he asked.
Shoaib Akhtar went on to demand a probe into the matter, saying it needed “to be looked at at the highest level of the government”. “So I want a really, really highly qualified with honourable people on the investigation and not through the board,” he said, referring to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
