Previously, his wife Shaniera Akram was living in Sydney for 10 months along with her daughter whereas Wasim Akram was busy in his cricketing tours. According to details, the former captain of the national cricket team Wasim Akram is back to his wife and daughter after completing his quarantine. Later on , he shared a video on the Twitter in which he can be seen hugging his daughter during a meeting after months. Well, it can be seen that Wasim Akram and his daughter met in an exciting manner.

While sharing the video, he wrote, “After ten months, I finally got to see my daughter.” Wasim Akram also thanked his wife Shanira Akram for taking care of his daughter. Around five months ago, Shaniera Akram took to her social media to share the news of disgusting medical waste that had been dumped at Karachi’s Sea View Beach. She said, “Our beach is a bio-hazard zone and needs to be shut down immediately. I am so sorry to the people including myself who use and love our beach but this is beyond safe.”

She started working on this and joined hands with many to clean this up. Finally, volunteers and Sindh Government collaborated and cleaned up the beach.

On his way to Karachi National Stadium Wasim Akram’s car collided with another car and the driver of that car had an argument with the famous cricketer Wasim Akram. The driver of the car took a gun out and started firing bullets in the air. Luckily Wasim Akram escaped the attack and recorded his statement later on in National Stadium.

The police has not identified the car yet but have assured Wasim Akram that they will help him in any way possible. According to the SSP Police the youngster was most probably drunk. The Police has the registration number of the car which was involved in the incident which would help them in catching the culprits.

On a personal note, I want to say that every professional has the right to choose his/her workplace whether it is in their homeland or abroad. Two out of my three children also live and work abroad and I am unable to figure out when working abroad has been a scale to measure patriotism. Also If working or cooperating with India is unpatriotic then it should be applicable to all professionals and persons not to some specific ones. It is strange that Waseem Akram is declared unpatriotic or traitor for coaching an IPL team, but many among us also protest that why Shahid Afridi is not allowed to play in IPL (Shahid Afridi and other pakistani players have played IPL in first two seasons)??. What kind of double standard is this, where one person is declared traitor and other is praised for working in a same organization/event like IPL.

Chahat Fateh Ali Khan’s Bado Badi is still going viral and celebrities are recreating it in their videos. His song was featured by multiple international stars. Recently, Kili Paul and K Pop Star featured the song. Diljit Dosanjh, Guru Randhawa and others also made videos on Bado Badi.

Lately, ace Pakistani former cricketers, analysts and commentators Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis made a hilarious video featuring Bado Badi. The popular host and artist Fakhr E Alam was also part of the video. They made a video on Bado Badi while sipping up their tea. These guys are surely giving us couple goals.

The topic “Women Empowerment” and “girl power” is a burning issue all over the world. “Women empowerment” and “women equality with men” is a universal issue. Pakistan, unfortunately, is a lot behind when it comes to this. We still live in a (mostly) patriarchal society where there are certain things that a woman just cannot do without raising questioning and sometimes even accusing eyes in her direction.

Take one simple thing such as, riding a bike. Sure, you see every now and then a bold girl, defying the norms of society, riding a bike and not letting her gender stop her from being able to do so but you also have to admit that nearly everyone in her vicinity will stop to talk about it either out loud or in hushed whispers; if not then then will at least look at her wide eyed, like she is from another planet. Some might even look at her admirably, but still do a double take. Why? Because this is, unfortunately, not a normal occurrence in our society.

And thus, it was refreshing and heartwarming to watch when Wasim Akram and Shoaib Akhtar encouraged this notion on their Ramazan transmission, Geo Khelo Pakistan. This happened during a segment of the show when a girl was invited by Shoaib Akhtar to spin the wheel and win a prize. The girl when asked what she’d like to have, requested for a bike. Upon inquiring who she wants to get the bike for, the girl informed that she’d want one for herself and she’d love riding it. Promoting gender equality, she further said that if guys can ride a bike, so can girls. The audience present in the hall appreciated this statement and showed their appreciation with a huge round of applause for her.

Wasim Akram, being the supportive guy that he is, only encouraged her further by gifting her a helmet along with the bike and saying that she should ride the bike all she wants.

Watching the entire segment was just delightful. The positivity that both the hosts spread  makes one think that there can be a bright future for Pakistani women in all spheres of life. Pakistani women have a long way to go to be able to have equal opportunities as men, but what is it that they say, little drops of water make the mighty ocean!

Many new actors are pouring in the industry and people are loving the new talent on their screens. Two new actors who got into the industry are Washma Fatima and Subhan Awan. They are both new in the game and slowly making waves with their work. Washma Fatima had a great year professionally as people loved her in College Gate on Green TV and she was also a part of Mujhe Pyaar Hua Tha where she played the girl obsessed with Areeb. Subhan Awan on the other hand got the opportunity to work in the blockbuster Tere Bin. The duo got married also and made another power couple in the industry.
