Zindagi Gulzar Hai Episode 18 – Happily Married?

Kashaf and Zaroon know only too well that they are very different from one another and the conversation about the “chand” just amplified the differences between the two. Zaroon has faith that his marriage will work out despite of all these differences because Kashaf is a very nice girl and also because he loves her so much. Kashaf is still fearful and reluctant and probably for the first time is going to leave it to her luck to decide how things turn out for her. Rafia rightly advises Kashaf to be wise, flexible and compromising. I expected Kashaf to question her mother when it came to compromising because it is very true that girls are expected to compromise more than the men in our social set up. It is a woman’s responsibility to make a marriage work and most often when it doesn’t work out, the woman is held responsible. A balanced marriage however is one in which both the partners play their part. Kashaf is willing to go the extra mile in order to make the kind of home which she could never have before because her father refused to accept them. Rafia explained beautifully to Kashaf how her situation was very different from hers and Kashaf could not compare the two.

I thoroughly enjoyed the unromantic start to the romantic night scene. It was very well executed, the expressions on both sides were brilliant and the background score was perfect. Fawad Khan played the confused dulha perfectly and it was very interesting to hear what they were both thinking. I must add here that Zaroon sounded much more sensitive and caring than Kashaf. I seriously think that it is about time that Kashaf put the past behind her and give the poor guy benefit of the doubt if nothing else! Kashaf still judges Zaroon the way she always used to and if she had no respect for Zaroon or did not trust him why did she marry him? Zaroon has apologized enough; Kashaf should genuinely forgive him and move on!

ZGH1

I found it rather odd that Ghazala was the one who broke the news of Zaroon’s engagement to Osama, no wonder he was so shocked. Osama is good friends with Zaroon and Kashaf both so one of them should have told him by now about the engagement. One can imagine why Kashaf would not have told him but Zaroon should most certainly have informed him at least especially because he was getting engaged to Kashaf Murtaza! I definitely felt for Osama today since he had feelings for Kashaf right from day one and now she is married to his best? Friend! Asmara’s message to Zaroon was very apt indeed, I expected Asmara to say just that and thanked God once again that she was out of the picture for good.

Asmara message

Although Ghazala tried to talk Zaroon out of the marriage right till the last minute but it was great to see that she did not turn into the evil Mother in Law who would show her disapproval openly.

The scene at Kashaf’s house was another one of my favorite scenes from this episode. Everything about it made me smile from Hammad’s foolish questions to Zaroon’s reaction to Murtaza’s Namaz invitation was absolutely wonderful. Fawad Khan’s expressions in the scene when they are in the Masjid were priceless. The glances exchanged between Kashaf and Zaroon later on were very meaningful indeed and I am waiting anxiously for Kashaf to soften up. She should stop seeing Zaroon as the boy she knew in the university and accept him for the person he is now. I am definitely on team Zaroon now!

Mirat-ul-Uroos Episode 20 – Review

0

This latest episode focused on how everyone reacted to Hammad’s decision to move out of the house. The way everyone reacted to the news was very realistic indeed and it went to show how children can never fulfill their responsibilities towards their parents, the way parents do for them. Hammad and Ayza are only thinking of their child’s future and how it can be “secured” by moving out of the house. I know it sounds like flawed logic but it is very good reasoning for someone who prefers money over relationships. Ayza is someone who would much rather save her husband’s precious money for her child and has no interest in saving the relationship they have with her in laws. Hammad said it loud and clear that Hashim and Zain were not his kids, therefore, not his responsibility but what about his parents? Are his parents wrong in expecting their son to stand by them in time of need and not walk out on them (literally)? Honestly, generally speaking, I am all for couples living separately but I think that this is not the ideal time for Hammad to move out and also the reason for moving out is very wrong. Rafia goes out of her way to make things easier for Ayza and has never shown her discontent with anything that Ayza and Hammad do. The sole reason Ayza wants to move out is because she wants her husband’s money all for herself and her child. Well, what else one can expect from someone who has been raised by Akbari. Ayza is still young and there is plenty of time for her to change but Akbari just baffles me with her immature and shallow thinking. Ayza and Akbari are alike in so many ways – they only value their own comfort and know about their own needs, they are not much concerned with how their actions affect others.

Hammad clearly feels guilty about his decision but seems to take an about turn when Askari talks t o him about the issue. I totally agree with Askari, it is so wrong when people blame the “bahus” when their sons decide to move out or do anything to make their parents unhappy after they get married. Hammad is pretty much capable of putting his foot down and has a healthy and working brain to tell him right from wrong. Yes, surely Ayza played a vital part in convincing him to move out of the house but he had the option of telling her that he could not just now. It is HIS choice to listen to his wife and not his parents and grandmother.

Even though Rafia holds Ayza wholly responsible for Hammad’s decision to leave the house but she still does not have the guts to say it to her face! On the other hand she puts Aima down every chance she gets. In fact Rafia turns into a villainous character every time she is talking to Aima. The reason she belittles Aima like that is because her husband does not have a job and because Hammad is moving out of the house…that is highly unreasonable.

I am actually looking forward to Hammad leaving the house because that is the only way that he will see Ayza for who she is and hopefully Hashim will take up his responsibilities now. I really felt for Aima today, she has the patience of a saint and deserves to be happy. She has not seen a moment of happiness ever since she got married and even then we never hear her complaining.  Akbari’s decision to hire Guddu back was just plain foolish and it was surprising to see that even her son did not react to it the way one would have expected him to. Some of Akbari’s dialogues in today’s episode were hilarious.

I have to say that I am totally hooked to the play and enjoying the way the story is unfolding. All the actors seem very comfortable in their respective roles now with the exception of Meekaal. His acting seems very unconvincing at times, which is actually surprising because he is such a good actor otherwise.

Silvatein Episode 08 – Get Ready For More Confusions!

0

Once again many aspects were covered in the drama & a lot more progress was shown in the relations but on the other hand a whole new lot of confusions have built up again. I did enjoy Zeb’s scenes the most but on I still do wonder why the drama is named ‘Silvatein’? I guess a better title would’ve been ‘Uljhanain’ based on how much confusions are surrounding each & every character.

Before saying anything I must confess that I missed Pupho a lot, she was someone who brought spark to the drama & had a very interesting influence on the whole family but now when she is out of the picture, their family seems incomplete with no much fun. She single handedly bought so much flare to the serial that I wish we do get to see more of her & hear her opinion about Zeb & her life.

Mikaal & Zeb have a very very unique sort of a relation but Zeb was oblivious of Mikaal’s feelings, that’s why she considered him as her best friend & someone to lean on emotionally. His proposal has not changed anything for Zeb because she is a clear-headed person who knows what she wants out of what & who carries what importance in her life. She is ready to get married but does not see Mikaal, her best friend, as her life partner because it does get odd at times. Some relations are better as friendships but to go a step ahead does spoil the charm that they carry.

In today’s episode, it was good to see how Natasha has started to build up her relation with her husband & how candid they have gotten with each other  she is not holding back in sharing anything & that’s exactly the sort of a relationship a husband & wife should share. Natasha is even too vocal about her MIL & SIL in front of her husband & Bilal is understanding her point of view, which makes him a perfect guy. Natasha, however, did mention that she hated seeing Munize spending time with Zeb & she even mentioned that first she had to put up with Zeb but now there’re two ladies of that sort. It clearly shows that Natasha is a shallow person & can not tolerate anyone else who grabs the attention be it positively or negatively but she just can not tolerate not being in the limelight forever & does not want to understand any strong personality, however, she should consider that her husband matters the most, if he is willing to give her an undivided attention than she should not put too much brains into other petty or nominal things. She needs to cope up with things a bit more wisely & should go with the flow.

I must say that at one point in the whole episode I felt Natasha was such a ‘wanna be’. When she heard her parents talk that Zeb’s criteria of getting married did not involve materialism, she got shocked & then tried to convince herself & confessed in front of Bilal too that nothing will spoil their relationship especially money. Whereas, in the beginning of the drama, it was clearly shown that she wanted a well-settled guy with a sound financial background to get married to because she thought this was Zeb’s criteria too, example can be taken from her conversation with Yawar where she mentioned furiously that Zeb has gotten such a good proposal of Bilal based on how he was settled in USA with a good job etc & how she convinced Yawar on getting a job abroad too. It really shows that she wants to adopt things from Zeb but does not want to admit that ever, in front of anyone else or even herself. It’s a universal fact that your Parents & than your elder siblings are your very first, in fact life long institutions where you always get to learn one thing or the other. So, Natasha should gracefully accept this fact that Zeb is great at certain things & her approach towards life is better than hers & even if she adopts something from her or takes an inspiration, she should whole-heartedly give Zeb her due credit for it. Even Zeb talked her out of ending her marriage with Bilal & that very moment she agreed & went back with him, shows she really does follow what Zeb says but is too egoistic to give any acknowledgement to Zeb for playing such a pivotal role in her life.

Another mean move of Natasha was when Munize put forward her opinion about the guys she knew in USA for Zeb as marriage prospects, Natasha tried to convince that Zeb is much happier in Pakistan. She does claim that she doesn’t care about Zeb or anything but it looks like her day starts off with Zeb & ends at thinking about her too & on the other hand, Zeb is least bothered about anything Natasha says or does because she has a lot more going on in her life.

In the last episode, when Mikaal mentioned to Zeb that Rehan is having a trouble in his married life, I was like why did he say such a thing & what could’ve been a continuing link of such a claim but it got clarified in today’s episode. It had to be used to create a havoc & burst Natasha’s paranoia bubble too. LOL! I loved how Zeb smilingly handled Natasha’s insulting rant that too in front of Mikaal but she just used one-liner to bring her to the other tangent which she desired. Zeb, easily said such a thing without even thinking for a second but Natasha blew everything out of proportion. I must say that such type of girls do face a lot of difficulties because it’s not always a good idea to just blabber every single detail in front of the in-laws without even thinking. She did not even re-confirm it from Zeb but just in such a heated moment she took what Zeb said way too seriously & created a whole new issue out of it. Natasha even assumed that Munize must’ve said such a thing to Zeb & it was funny to see Munize’s frowning face. Now, I am sure Munize’s attitude will change towards both, Natasha & Zeb & she will stop comparing the two.

Viewers might think differently about Zeb or may think that she is cunning but if one really wants to understand her character, it’s the best to judge her on how she treats Dilawar & his family. Even after, two life-threatening attempts, she is dedicated & has a conviction of doing good for that family. She deal with them softly, at times violently, but deep down she cares for them the most. & that’s what her character is & if we compare her younger sister to her, she is completely conceited, different & loves to think about herself ONLY.

I’ll wrap up by saying that I really do wish to fast forward & see what solution or conclusion was deduced out of this new confusion & how each & every person reacted. I am really enjoying this drama because it is realistic & no doubt it truly shows how easily just in a spur of a moment such huge things can arise & a little lack to wisdom puts you in such awkward positions. Everyone has done a great job, the direction is superb & the actors are effortlessly portraying the reality through their characters. I am glad this drama has a lot more to offer & I can’t wait to see more of it.

Kahi Unakhi Episode 21 – Sad Affair!

0

Today’s episode was a bit disturbing, especially in terms of Mariam. Things seem to be winding up gradually & a new unexpected twists & turns at some point are good but at the other are not.

What I really hated to see was Ansar die so easily & that too because of a measly excuse. Zeeshan went out of the blue to avenge his sister’s heart-break but ended up doing which was uncalled for. Of all the people, I actually feel for Mariam because what did she actually gain after getting married to Ansar? Such a short span of a wedded life where at first she had to grasp the fact that her husband was cheating on her, she got rid of it just to save her marriage & now because of some moron she loses her husband that too at such a stage where she needed him the most. I think such a nice person like Mariam did not deserve such trials & tribulations in her life, but unfortunately & sadly this is how it works at times.

Mrs. Kamal’s reaction on knowing about Mariam’s expectancy was once again utterly disappointing. She couldn’t even give her a hug & I wonder why she was introduced as a HUMBLE & down-to-earth person in the beginning of the drama. Supporting your driver’s daughter does not mean that you’re modest or something but taking a stand & sticking by your decision makes you fall in such a category. I actually loved her character when the drama started but as the episodes progressed, her character has only come up with the disappointments, be it her one-line dialogues or totally out of the context questions, I am not finding any need of her character in this drama.

Another thing that came as a shock to me was showing Sherry go to some Shrine & raising his hands to say a prayer there. Why do they fail to show what the actual concepts of Islam are? If they had shown him going to some ‘Masjid’ & offering a prayer there, it would’ve shown perfectly how hard he was striving in order to get, which he left his home for. But our media just loves to promote things which are Non-Islamic, be it the use of amulets or the visits to the Shrines. I think the writers or the directors should always consider or conduct a research on what they are going to portray because it really does give a wrong impression.

Finally, Mr. Parvez’s family has gotten what they deserved. For the first time, I actually, for the first time loved what Anam has ever said in this drama. This conversation was worth it & she gave a spot-on reality check to her confused mother. This is another reality which was shown perfectly that parents spoil their kids but then expect them to act differently given the circumstances which unfortunately can not happen or is too late. Anam was right in blaming her mother for all the things that have happened to or within their families. Finally, it was good to get rid of Zeeshan because his character irritated me the most.

Now coming on to Sherry’s journey. It has come to an end & he has at last reached his destination but Zoya’s father fails to understand the real reason why Sherry has come all the way to the village. Zoya is getting hooked to her cousin, without her will & her father is unable to see how cunning her in-laws-to-be are. The preview of the next episode seemed interesting where both of their diaries with the photos will get discovered. Hopefully, Zoya’s father will understand how she feels for Sherry & will agree to their marriage. Can’t wait to see them both together.

Cheers,

Rehaii Episode 2 – Review

0

The second episode of Rehaai was extremely powerful, yet nauseating at the same time. It begins with Akber (Danish Taimour) worrying about little Kulsoom and telling his parents about the atrocity Chacha disgusting and Vasim Bhai are about to commit. His parents say ‘zulm ki inteha hoti hai’ and are justifiably enraged.

We then see an angry Shamim going to Kulsoom’s father’s house and giving him a peace of her mind in front of his friends. She screams in front of everyone telling them the truth that he sold his daughter. I wanted to strangle him when he tries to defend his despicable actions by saying “be-aulad bhateeje pe rehem agaya tha to beti dedi.” My bloody foot!! Beti pe rehem nahi aya inhe. After she leaves, he of course goes to see Vasim and tells him he was humiliated by his mother in front of his friends and has decided against the marriage. He will also somehow return the money owed.  Clearly he knew that if he went to Vasim with this bluff, Vasim would handle it and that’s exactly what happened. Vasim apologizes for his mother’s actions and then goes yells at her. I have never seen such an ill-mannered son ever before! His mother is left questioning her upbringing of her son.

On the Shehnaz front, her sister, instead of supporting her, is bad mouthing her mother-in-law and tells Shehnaz that she should have stopped going to the doctors and hakeems long time ago and went to that peer baba—another huge issue corrupting our society in my opinion. Shehnaz goes home and is rude to her mother in law telling her that she is probably happy about all of this and will probably attend the nikah happily. Shamim is disgusted and reminds Shehnaz that she was only 11 when her parents married her off to Vasim’s father (Adnan Jilani).  There is no way she can do that to another little girl and right now her sympathies are with Kulsoom and the priority is to save her. We see the tortured flashbacks of Shamim’s own wedding. The next morning Vasim again tries to convince his mother to go his nikaah with Kulsoom and she again tells him to have mercy on her. He leaves in a rage. At the nikaah we see that Kulsoom has no idea what is and is about to happen to her. She is still calling Vasim ‘Vasim Bhai’ and wonders why Tai Ammi and Apa aren’t there. She happily tells her friends she will be going to live with Tai Ammi now. At home, Shehnaz is crying at her life and Shamin is blaming herself for all of this since she couldn’t stop it.

After the nikaah when Vasim brings Kulsoom home (this is where my nausea began), for that night she is saved by Tai Amma. But the next morning when Shamim goes out to get groceries and Kulsoom is left with Shehnaz, Vasim takes advantage of that. You can see the guilt in even Shehnaz’s eyes of what just happened…and what just happened was nothing less than child rape.  Kulsoom is horrified and wants to go back to her father’s house. She has nightmares that night and ends up running back to her father the next morning. Fathers are supposed to protect their daughters, but little does she know that he has no mercy on her and tells to go back to Vasim’s house and apologizes to Vasim about what Kulsoom just did. Tai Amma takes her back to her house after telling her father off again. Episode 2 ends there.

I thought this episode was going to be more horrifying than it actually was (especially after the nikaah). But even with that I could not watch it without getting sick to my stomach. I think this is an extremely powerful drama but I also think it should have been written by a more seasoned and veteran writer. Farhat Ishteaaq is a brilliant writer of romance. It is one thing to make a drama from a novel; it is another to have a novelist write for the big screen, and that too for a subject like this. In what world does an 11 year ask another 11 year ‘kaisa lag raha hai?”? Even if these kids are 12 or 13, I feel like the writer is trying to incorporate the ‘fairy tale’ romance, even if it is for only 3 seconds. Because Kulsoom replies with ‘bohut acha’ without even knowing what is happening. Another thing is all the guests are there and they are happy…no one is saying anything against this atrocity and barbarism.   I do realize that in some sectors of the society all of this is very normal, but still those 3 seconds were extremely disturbing for me.  The other thing is that Shehnaz is supposed to be going through hell since her husband is marrying a child, for a child. So why are her clothes, hair, and make-up always perfect? Since this is supposed to be based on reality, I don’t think that those who are actually going through this would have the time, money, or mind frame to always be perfectly made up. I definitely think that had a more seasoned writer been approached, all of this would have been thought through. I understand the fascination HUM TV has with Farhat Ishteaaq and Umera Ahmed, but if you are going present such a controversial topic than you need to get people who are capable of telling such stories…especially if they are based on reality.

Acting wise everyone is superb! I see a lot of ‘Nani’ from Sheher-e-Zaat in Samina Peerzada’s character, but I also don’t think anyone else could have done justice to this role the way she did. Saeed and Noman Ejaz have out done themselves. They accomplished the audience comtempt towards them in the first 5 minutes of their scenes. Child star Yashaal is great and Maria Wasti is as always, in her character. ..Powerful performances were given by everyone.

Direction wise this had Mehreen Jabbar written all over it. The extremely well timed flashbacks, the scene and frame changes, everything was brilliant. No one else could have directed this so sensitively and brilliantly.

Till next time…

Sheeba Khan.

Turkish Serials Fever

0

Few months ago a serial started on Urdu1.Every time, I came across Urdu1 that drama serial was repeating like for 4-5 times a day..And then came a day when while sitting in my room,I heard some really weird voices. The voices were pretty unpredictable for me to guess. And I kept on asking myself that which drama serial my family is watching?

And then, those voices were heard by me every day and at the same time..abb mai thei paraishaan k kaun saa aisa Pakistani drama hai jo roz he lagta hai ? Plus those weird voices were getting on my nerves as if someone is talking in really artificial way.. :P…

Finally,I went to my parents room and saw that my mother and my sister were watching Ishq E Mamnu.I gave a look to the screen and saw some really beautiful ladies at the screen.I guess the first one I saw was Beetar.. :)..

images
But after few minutes,I left the room as it was so mess in that serial that it was not at all understandable for me or woh bhi in the very first go.. not possible man..

After that, where ever I went,I heard about Ishq e Mamnu..Yaaaar kitni pyari hai na Beetar..Oh yaar Behlool is so cool ,I wish I could meet him somewhere…Yaaaar kitni maasoom hai Nehaal..

Arghhhhhhhhhhh… Ishq e Mamnu here,Ishq e Mamnu there..Ishq e Mamnu everywhere…

The-Reality-of-Ishq-e-Mamnoo-

At that time, I wanted to kill those who did voice overs specially of that old man(the cook I guess :p )..that was so much irritating. I knew that wasn’t the original voice of any person.. it cant be.. but I am extremely sorry to say that they have exaggerated many voices to such an extent that they became pretty much unbardaashtable for me atleast.

The fever of that serial went on and on.My family, friends, relatives, cute kids next door thus everybody started watching that serial.

Can you believe it some of my relatives put Beetar as their facebook deepeeeeeee :D.. ? Or tou or hadh to teb hue when forwarded texts were received by me..Bhaie! I am the one who is least interested in that serial ,koi poochai inn se mujhe kyu bhaij rahai ho text .. I least bother that who is going to die and who will be left all alone at the end..

And then came the days when Last Episode of this serial was about to get aired..Teb jesai daikho apnai paas se stories bana raha hai.Beetar will marry Behlool,Nehaal will kill behlool and what not.. :D.. Let me tell you honestly people that I even did not bother to watch Last Episode of that serial.

And then came the time when that stylish Beetar became simple and adorable Fatima Gul.Yahan se aya gee story mai twist.

fatimagul

I did not know at first, that was this serial all about and what is Beetar’s character all about. My mother and sister started watching it from the day 1.One day after watching a Pakistani Serial,I had nothing to do.I sat with my mother and sister aimlessly and that was the time when Fatima Gul was about to get aired.I sat and literally “tried” to watch and bear those dubbed voices and all..My mother was the one who was doing commentary for me and was explaining me the relation of every single person with Fatima Gul.I was least interested in it,phir bhi murawwat mai sun lea..kuch samjhi kuch bhooli.. And when episode ended, I considered that it wasn’t that bad experience to watch any Turkish serial and that experience went, obviously, against my expectations.

Next day I sat with my mother again and deep inside started feeling bad for that poor girl. All I knew in this serial was Fatima Gul’s family.Rest of the families were unknown to me and I was not even interested in knowing them.Phir bhi my mother started telling me about them.Aik tou itnai ziada log, phir itnay ziada naam.I still remember that I was unable to memorize Kareem’s name, always mixed him with Saleem. And then my younger sister told me , “Aapi, ye black hair waala Kareem hai” and I memorized his name like that “ Ka se Kaalai baal or Ka se Kareem” .. :D..

I started liking the locations, the story line and specially that Mukaddas Khatoon made me attracted towards that serial..:p .. Aisi khatoon mai ne aaj tak kisi Pakistani setial mai nahi daikhi thei na.. :P..

Then I started watching the serial on alternate days.and then came the time when my mother started calling me in her room … Drama lag gaya aajao.. Or mai bhi chali jaati thei..

Gradually, that magic started mesmerizing me and I got much more inclined towards that serial. I started watching it regularly. And then came the time, when I sat infront of television much earlier than my mother and sister. :P..

Alas ! I got the fever of Turkish Serial too.. :P

I have heard many people saying that promoting Turkish serials is somehow making our television industry affected. But,according to my point of view, not even a single of viewers of any channel or any drama are lost because of these Turkish serials.

Pakistani Serials have, still, that spark left in them that they can make the people stick to them.I am not saying that people don’t watch Turkish Serials. They do watch them but alongwith Pakistani Serials.Because Turkish serials have that factor in them which attracts people towards them, maybe locations or maybe the artists..

So,I am not at all against Turkish Serials. They can’t harm our television Industry because our Pakistani Serials have strong roots within everyone’s hearts and minds.

So all those production houses and directors, that are afraid of these Turkish serial..Just stop it .. and Let me watch … Fatima Gul.. Bhaie AAKHIR MERA KASUR KYA.. :P ..

It is still suspected whether the news is a real thing or just a rumor, but what has to be remembered here is that Atif has been talking about his marriage lately and its a high time to finally tie the knots with the girl he is seen with.

Kaash Aisa Ho Episode 9 – New Characters Introduced!

0

The pace of this show has become very slow now and it seems like the story has become stagnant. Irfa and Shayan’s relationship is deteriorating by the day and the cause is none other than Maleeha. Previously, Shayan and Irfa’s fights were not so serious or grave in intensity and they used to reconcile very quickly and put everything behind them but now Shayan’s attitude towards Irfa has changed drastically. He not only gets very angry but also shouts at Irfa now! My sympathy goes to Irfa who bears Shayan’s careless attitude and anger. Irfa has no one to look after her in such a sensitive condition but she found help in the form of Dr. Bilal(Shahood Alvi) who happens to be her neighbor.

I cannot believe one can get as careless and selfish as Shayan who has left his wife alone in such a state. While Irfa’s health is worsening, Shayan is busy going out for dinners and movies with Maleeha and if Irfa complains about him not being there the whole day then all she gets is the lecture on her orthodox thinking. How pathetic!

I do not understand what Shayan wants at this stage. He knows very well why Maleeha is taking so much interest in him and he is also aware of her growing obsession with him. Not only Maleeha but Adeel Faooqui has also mentioned what he has in his mind, in an indirect way though. He has started to play his games and he had the audacity to ask Shayan if he was content with a typical wife like Irfa and if he has ever considered marrying for a second time. What shocked me the most was Shayan’s lack of refusal to such a question! He seemed very nervous and uneasy but he did not refuse Adeel Farooqui. What is going on in his mind? He keeps on reminding Maleeha about his wife and he keeps on telling her that his life is being affected by their outings and he needs to spend more time with Irfa but every time Maleeha manages to convince him to come along with her. Adeel Farooqui has decided to launch Shayan with his own name all of a sudden. I am sure he has an ulterior motive behind this sudden decision. I have a very strong feeling that he will somehow manage to convince Shayan to marry Maleeha in exchange for launching his career.

Dr. Bilal has proved to be an angel in disguise for Irfa as he helped her when her condition was pretty bad. Irfa is under immense mental stress because of Shayan and his careless attitude. She needs to be cared for at this point but instead she is left to deal with everything alone. Dr. Bilal has not only been helpful, but also very kind towards her. I felt extremely bad for Irfa when she kept on calling Shayan when she was unwell but he kept on cutting her call because he was out with Maleeha and in the end, she went to Dr. Bilal’s house to ask for his help. Irfa once again let everything go when Shayan bought flowers for her, but she managed to convince him to try to change himself for their child.

I do not understand what is wrong with Dr. Bilal’s wife, Manahil. She just cannot stand Irfa’s presence in her house and refused to let her meet her husband when Irfa was unwell. At first I thought she was the jealous type but then the last scene showed a different story altogether. She was jealous of Irfa because Irfa can become a mother while she cannot. I guess we will get to see the full story of Dr. Bilal and Manahil in the next episode. But one thing is for sure, Dr. Bilal loves his wife dearly. I would love to see more of their story and what part they will play in Irfa and Shayan’s life.

Saba Qamar once again managed to steal the limelight with her brilliant acting. Mohib Mirza was also pretty good but could not match up to Saba in this episode. Sana Askari plays the role of Maleeha very well. I hope the pace increases and we get to see what happens next!

Daagh Episode 22 Review – Nearing Towards Its End!

0

This show is nearing towards its end and we got to see remorse in Aqeela and a bit in Murad too. Aqeela is regretting her decision of getting Murad married to Deeba, she has now realized that her desire for grandsons had led her and her son’s life into misery. She cannot help but remember her sweet granddaughters who used to take care of her despite her rude and nonchalant attitude towards them. She is now realizing how well Umama had trained her daughters and what an obedient and caring daughter in law she was. I wish she would have realized this earlier then a lot of lives would not have been affected by her haste decision.

Murad came to his senses when he heard about Nimra’s accident. He came running to the hospital and completely broke down when he saw Nimra on the hospital bed. The way he cried showed that he regretted leaving his daughters and he still loved them a lot. Nimra’s accident managed to bring Murad and Umama closer once again, as the saying goes that children are the binding thread for parents. They can keep their differences aside for their children and this is what we saw Murad and Umama doing in this situation. Murad stayed at Umama’s house for the whole night and they were finally civil to each other.

I felt bad to see Umama going through a financial crisis after she had lost the job. She is finding difficult to care for her daughters alone and calls Mushtaq to help her find a tenant but the cold reply she got from her Phupho clearly indicated that she is not going to get help from them either. Since Mushtaq spoke to her mother about Umama and his willingness to marry her, her attitude towards Umama had changed. It was kind of predictable since Umama is still married and she has 4 daughters with her too. Mushtaq is trying to help Umama but he needs to understand that she is still a married woman and it is extremely wrong to think of her as his future wife.

Nimra’s accident was the highlight of the episode. I personally think that Meher Bano over acted a little during the accident scene and there was something definitely wrong with her expressions in a few scenes. The scene where she rushes to her house because her kids are alone was a bit exaggerated. But overall, Meher Bano has done a very good job as an actor in this show. Fahad Mustafa was just outstanding in the scene where he cries in the hospital! For me, that was the best scene of the episode as we could see emotions like worry, regret, and relief all at the same time!

The bad editing was a bit annoying as they showed the morning scene where Deeba gets to know about Murad spending the whole night at Umama’s house and in the next scene they show that its night and Murad is asking Umama if he can stay at her place for the night! I am sure many of you would have noticed this because it was very obvious.
Deeba once again managed to irk me with her behavior. She seems mentally unstable at times with her cold attitude and child like behavior. She will definitely do something now that she knows where Murad was the whole night. I am curious to know what will happen in the last episode. Will Murad finally leave Deeba and bring Umama back to his house? Will he finally realize all his faults and see Deeba’s true face? This show has been a roller coaster ride for me and I am really looking forward to its last episode!
Do not miss the last episode!

Dil-e-Muztar Episode 5 Review – New Beginnings!

0

This episode was one of the best episodes so far! I absolutely love the chemistry between the leads and it was all the more appealing to watch now that Adeel’s attitude has improved towards Silah. It took time but he finally realized what Silah means in his life. He realized how much she had given up to be in his life when they met Zamaan’s lawyer who informed them that Silah’s father had shifted to Canada and disowned her from his properties. He felt bad for Silah when he saw her crying in the most heart wrenching way and realized how much she had sacrificed for her love for him and she has no one left in the world except him now.

Adeel finally admitted his feelings for Silah when she had a nervous breakdown. In the process of hating her, he failed to see how much hurt she already was and she reached her limit when she got to know that her father had left without even informing her of his departure. She already carried the guilt inside her for breaking her father’s heart and on top of that he did not even treat her well and paid no heed to her feelings for him. Adeel’s guilt worsened when the doctor told him that she had been going through an inner turmoil since a very long time. He was extremely guilty and apologized to her for his behavior and for blaming her for everything that had happened in his life in the past few days. He finally confessed his feelings to her. His confession was the best scene of the episode for me!

‘Bohat Pyar Karta Hun Tumse, Usse Kahi Ziada Jitna Tum Mujhe Chahti Ho’

f9b54da3-655a-4736-ae4e-9321ff3d11e7wallpaper - Copy

A tear escaped her eye when he confessed and she immediately opened her eyes. She had been waiting to hear this for a long time and there was a huge smile on her face when she heard his confession. Adeel had always loved her but he was afraid to admit it even to himself. He just could not get past the humiliation of being wrongly accused by her parents and accept her whole wholeheartedly.

After this we saw the most awaited scenes between the two. We saw a completely changed Adeel altogether. He started taking care of Silah and finally accepted her as his wife. The way they both teamed up and set the house together was beautifully shown. Another scene that I liked was when Adeel cooked breakfast for Silah and their cute conversation after that when he asks her why she had stopped calling him Adi like she used to, and she replied because he told her too!

‘Tum Mujhe Jo Bhi Kaho, Bas Mujhse Kabhi Naraz Mat Hona’
‘Ager Ho Bhi Gaee To Ap Mujhe Mana Lena’

f9b54da3-655a-4736-ae4e-9321ff3d11e7wallpaper

These are another set of dialogues that brought a smile to my face when I heard them. Their relationship strengthened and blossomed after this and we saw the romantic side of Adeel. Now the tables have turned and Silah is seen as the shy one while Adeel has gotten bolder and it was a treat to watch this new side of him. Who knew the serious, boring Adeel can actually turn out to be quite romantic? I loved the way they both asked each other to close the lights and ended up going to sleep with the lights on!

Sarwat Gillani was also introduced in this show as Zoya, Adeel and Silah’s new neighbor. Her role in the drama has not been revealed yet as we barely saw her in two or three scenes. I am curious to know what her role is in the show. Will she be the reason for their separation or will she be the person to unite them? We saw her bonding with Silah in this episode and she also witnessed the love between both husband and wife. I personally would not like to see her in a negative role. Imran Abbas was simply superb in the hospital scene! Sanam Jung also gave her best in the scene where she cries while remembering her father. Sarwat Gillani looks brilliant in this new role and I hope it is a promising character.

The plot is getting more and more interesting by the day. The preview for the next episode seems promising. Let’s hope we get to see an equally entertaining episode next week!
Keep watching!

Fawad Khan and Nadia Jamil to do a Telefilm for Mothers’ Day!

0

A mother is the most precious gift one has and limiting her importance to a single day is kind of inappropriate, however, dedicating an entire day of year to celebrate Mothers’ day is a universal practice where children show their gratitude and express their love for their mothers. Just like any other country, Pakistan’s Media industry take full advantage of the occasion and telecast special programs to make it more happening for the viewers. Mothers’ day is  celebrated on the second Sunday in the month of May, and this year, it will be May 12th, 2013 (which is also my birthday :P ).

According to the latest news that has been cracked on the social media is that Fawad Khan and  Nadia Jameel will be seen in  a telefilm which will be aired on 12th of May. The theme is related to the greatness of a mother and Sajjal Ali will also be a part of the venture. This Tele-film is directed by Asim  Raza and even though nothing much has yet been leaked about the project, the audience seems delighted with the news.

Let us see how far is the news correct, we still have a long April to go before starting to wait for this tele-film.

Zindagi Gulzar hai- The Novel and the drama!

0

What we see is what we believe, but did you know that the script of your favorite drama serial ‘Zindagi Gulzar hai’ is somewhat pretty different than what is shown on screen? If you have read the novel, you might be getting what I am talking about. It was only yesterday that I started reading Umera Ahmed’s ‘Zindagi Gulzar Hai’ and amazingly, I am done with the entire novel just in a single night.

This novel has a privilege of being the first novel of the writer which she wrote just to improve her writing, without even knowing that a writer lives within her. The novel is based on a different theme where there is no narrator and the story moves on in a direct form. It is Kashaf’s diary and Zaroon’s too (and not a laptop), that reveals the story. The story starts with Kashaf’s part where she enters her college.

Highlighting the differences that have twisted the story further, it was amusing to find that according to the novel, Kashaf’s father, Murtaza never married twice and had two sons and four daughters from his first wife, that is, Kashaf’s mother. On the other side, even Sara is not the only sibling Zaroon has, in fact, he has a brother too. Although these changes are minute enough to be neglected because when it comes to picturing a novel as a drama, some extra characters are always cut down. This is common when we see a product from Umera Ahmed’s and Momal Production’s collaboration. I have also read other novels like ‘Humsafar’ and ‘Shehr-e-Zaat’ and such changes are as normal as can be. Even Ashar of Humsafar had three sisters which never have to happen in the drama.

images (3)

The Novel revolves around Kashaf’s miseries and the hard work she does to reach to a designation as big as a CSP officer. Even Zaroon’s character is dissimilar to what is shown on screen. Now that they will be married in the next episode, the story will have a twist and Zaroon’s other side would be seen if it goes according to the script. The two of them start landing up in fights, where Zaroon suspects Kashaf for not loving him but her brother-in-law, (husband of her sister Asma, who doesn’t exists in the drama). They both also had two sons and the story goes 9 years ahead when Zaroon again meets Asmara. However, according to the OST shown, the drama doesn’t hold any symbol of story taking this turn.

Keeping all other differences hidden for now, I would really recommend this novel as a read up. It is always interesting to relate what we read with what we see. ‘Zindagi Gulzar Hai’ is surely one of the most special novels been written by Umera Ahmed, though I still couldn’t compare the essence of her magnificent novel ‘Peer-e-Kamil’ with this one.

Share your views about the novel, and also mention the changes if I missed any.

Azaan Sami’s first Action Thriller “The Extortionist” to release in August!

0

Although Pakistan’s Lollywood industry seems no more interested in adopting a change for its quality improvement, it is also evident that the new directors and producers who are emerging on screen are determined to bring a change in the film-industry, making their country proud. The movies like Khuda K Liye, Ramchand Pakistani, Bol,  Saving Faces and Seedlings are those leading projects that are been recognized all over the world and seems like the next one in the list would be the upcoming Action  thriller “The Extortionist”.

azaan sami

The movie is produced by Azaan Sami, son of Adnan Sami with Zeb Bakhtiar as the executive producer. The movie is said to be in the final stages and is expected to be released in  August this year. Been written by Summer Nicks, who has won international awards for his talent, this movie primarily focuses on how one perceive things around. What increases the probability of this movie succeeding is its cast which includes Aamina Sheikh,Shaan Shahid,Iman Ali,Shamoon Abbasi and Ayub Khuso.

It has been concluded that not much has been revealed about the project by now but it is assumed that the movie will have everything to win the hearts of the viewers.

Zaroon-Kashaf Finally Engaged-Pictures in High Quality!!

0

Tonight’s episode of ‘Zindagi Gulzar hai’ has finally made the audience happy as Kashaf is now engaged to Zaroon and the most awaited moment is now 7 days away when the most happening on-screen couple will be married. It was for the first time that Kashaf was actually seen happy, showing the soft corners for Zaroon. Osama’s role, although might have reached to its end as he too, is now going to marry someone else, or to his “Second Option” as Sidrah said. What touched my heart and I am sure, yours too was the ‘Tea Cup scene’, where Kashaf realized how well Zaroon deserved to be her life partner. Here are the engagement pictures, have a look!

Zindagi Gulzar Hai Episode 17 – Mission Accomplished!

Aisa Kia khaas tha un chand baton mei?

Chaye ka cup!

Finally! The chaye ka cup did the trick!! Although I did feel that just when Zaroon started talking, Kashaf was a little surprised that he did not give her all the explanations she was expecting from him. When he said to her that he did not want to lose someone who was so special to him only because of the silly mistakes he had made in the past, she was even more alarmed and partially convinced, then all it took was Zaroon saving his damsel in distress from hot tea and that was that! If I hadn’t’ known already that Kashaf would eventually agree to marry Zaroon, I would actually have been surprised that she went from not wanting to be around the man for even a few minutes to getting convinced that he was the one she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. I am just glad that she agreed and we can finally move on. Also, it is great to know that she is going to marry Zaroon because she thinks that he can protect her and she does have feelings for him too. When Sidra says to her that she always felt like Kashaf liked Zaroon, she did not disagree. So, this marriage is based on love after all and Kashaf did not enter this relationship out of pressure from family or friends.

tea

Okay!! So I thought that Ghazala vowed not to interfere in her children’s lives again but there she was today telling Zaroon how he could not compromise or adjust and the marriage was bound to be a failure. Not only Ghazala but Sara was also very interested in knowing how Zaroon would make an Allah Mian ki gaye out of an educated and professional woman. Zaroon on the other hand has more faith in himself and has insisted over and over again that he does not want to make an Allah Mian ki gaye out of his wife…well we will know soon enough. Sara definitely knows her brother better and should know that he has changed or maybe he hasn’t, can’t wait to find out! I felt for Zaroon when he was writing his diary and thinking that everyone was more interested in finding out when he was going to be divorced more than when he was getting married! Seriously, the poor guy deserves a break. I am waiting to find out if Ghazala will approve of Kashaf once she is married to Zaroon.

manshaEpisode 17

I have completely fallen in love with Sidra’s character mainly because Mansha Pasha has done such a fabulous job of playing the supportive and loving sister. Sidra always believed that Zaroon and Kashaf were meant to be together, long before they could even imagine anything like that. She also tried to make Kashaf realize that she should get over the impression she had of Zaroon and start all over again. The conversations between the two sisters were the best part of today’s episode.

engagement

Murtaza is back for good in Rafia’s life and it was good to see Rafia happy for a change. There were no worries at all this time around, like they were there when Sidra got married.  Zaroon and Kashaf get married in the next episode and hopefully the shikway ka safar is over and it is over to shukar now ;) I am dying to see Kashaf laugh; can’t wait to see her acknowledging and being thankful for all the good things in her life…time to stop and smell the roses Kashaf Murtaza!

Mirat-ul-Uroos Episode 19 – Wake Up And Smell The Coffee!!

0

This was another thought provoking, very relatable and a well directed episode of Mirat-ul-Uroos. To start with I would like to share my favorite dialogues from this latest installment.

“Lekin ab badqismati se hamare mashrey mei murd buhat kum reh gaye hei”…This is so true there are so many men in our society who want to dominate their wives  but are not willing to give them the protection, security and love that they should give them.

“Beti ko ghur mein bitha ke taanay na du, us ka dil bura ho ga”…This dialogue really struck a chord with me, Hamnah may have been very wrong but her father is right too. I liked the way he looks out for his daughter and can tell how she must feel. She was being immature and when children are being that way, the parents have to look out for them and tell them right from wrong or take the decisions for them. After watching everything that transpired with Hamnah, I honestly think it would have been better if her parents did not give in to the pressure and delayed the marriage.

“Insan ka pata tub hi chalta hai jub us se wasta pare tu”

“Khushi ka taaluq cheezon se thori hota hai”…Finally Rafia has realized that you can’t measure someone’s worth by the things they bring for you!

“Tum khudh ko itna bewukt kyun kur dena chhati ho…Tum apni izzat khudh nahi karo gi tu koi nahi kare ga”. Well, everything that Aima said to Hamnah was so true and I am glad it didn’t take Hamnah long to see things for what they are.

Askari has to be my favorite character in the show and Samina Ahmed is doing such a brilliant job – spot on as usual. Everything that Askari says makes perfect sense and she does it without sounding too preachy, she shares her opinion with everyone without being assertive and that is what I like about her the most. She is like a gentle, caring and wise friend to everyone in the house.

Although it was partially because of Ayza’s constant pressure on Hammad that he decided to move out of the house but I will not hold Ayza wholly responsible for the decision. Hammad has spent a lifetime with his parents and should know better than to get convinced by Ayza. Ayza makes Hammad’s parents sound like greedy and selfish individuals who are only holding on to their son because they want his money and Hammad really should not believe her. He does not even think twice about how his father is going to manage things without him since he did not even give him enough time to plan something. I really think though that Hammad’s father should still be working because nowadays many people continue working even after their retirement.

Yes it is time for Hashim to wake up and smell the coffee!! He is used as a bad example everywhere and gradually he is realizing how irresponsible he has been. He never thought there was anything wrong with asking Aima for a car but now that Hamna is in the same situation, he sees things differently. With Hammad moving out, he will be left with no choice but to take up some of the responsibilities and I am really looking forward to the transformation. I also really appreciate the way Hashim was made to realize his responsibilities in this episode.

I have to say that this episode seemed too short and it ended too quickly, maybe because I found every single minute extremely engaging. Umera Ahmed has done a great job with the script, Anjum Shehzad has directed the play very well and all the actors are doing a great job. Really looking forward to the next installment.

Silvatein Episode 07 – Good Developments.

0

I kind of enjoyed tonight’s episode. It had many things going on within & with each & everyone.

It seems like Natasha has had a transformation from a spoiled brat to a wise housewife. She seems to have made her place in her family & gels in quite well with each & everyone. She was also seen taking responsibilities on a smaller scale & was also regretful for her behaviour in the early days of her marriage. One thing that took me by surprise was that Bilal mentioned staying with Natasha for a FEW MONTHS now, whereas Zeb is still attending that aggressive kid Dilawar. It kind of looked like a mistake that why would Zeb be going to his place if a couple of months have already passed?

Natasha is paying extra attention to her new family & especially she is in complete compatibility with Bilal, which was good to see because Bilal being a gentleman has taken care of Natasha the way he promised her, I am sure this is the reason she has had a drastic change. One more thing could be that in her in-laws, she is treated as a centre of attention all the time. Each & every member has the name of Natasha in every conversation they have & in her own house she always has shared the attention with Zeb. In fact, Zeb was showered with a little more from all the members of their clan, that’s why Natasha always had a rift with Zeb.

Munize looks more like a saas to Natasha than her actual MIL. Munize’s mother is least bothered about what is happening & who is feeling what because she has indulged herself into her own activities. I loved the conversation Zeb had with Natasha’s BIL. Whatever he said was true & that hit the spot for Zeb considering the situation she was in. Another thing that is worth mentioning is that I loved how the MIL rationalized Natasha’s attitude & thinking towards Munize & Zeb’s idea of spending time together. Natasha was seen in full glory of positivity till she knew that no such character like Zeb was hovering around her & claiming her part of attention but the moment she heard that Munize is having a girls day out with Zeb, she stooped back to her level & once again left the house without notifying anyone, just because she wanted to act like a cry baby in front of her mother. I loved her MIL’s honesty about how she felt at what Natasha had just said. She even proposed the idea of being up front & directly talking to the person involved rather than beating around the bush in front of someone who is not even in the scenario.

One thing that has totally ticked me off is the twist & story of Dilawar & his whining mother. I am not at all willing to see those faces again & I even fail to understand the kind of a project Zeb is working on which involves going to a certain teenager’s house & give them the lectures? She was in a creative field as far as I remember, at the beginning of the drama, but how come now it seems that she is working voluntarily for some NGO? I kind of fail to understand her job & her designation & c’mon who would waste their time & energy on such a spoiled, dangerous looking teenager? I hope I don’t get to see more of them because it looks like a misfit in the whole drama. May be his flick was introduced because in the meantime writer wanted to move things on with Natasha, so in stead of making Zeb look like someone who’s got nothing to do, the idea of this suicidal teenager was introduced.

Over all, I really enjoyed the episode & it kind of makes me smirk at how these two sisters do not hold back in mentioning each other’s negatives in front of the outsiders. Natasha was seen doing these sort of things in front of Yawar & Bilal too & Zeb has mentioned about Natasha’s negativity in front of Mikaal & even Munize now too. Munize, very clearly told that we siblings are over-protective about one another so I think Zeb being a wise person should understand & she should be cautious to not loose talk about Natasha so casually in front of her SIL.

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

Ali Zafar’s Chashme Baddoor to release this April in India!

0

There are a very few celebrities of Pakistan who have made a place for themselves in Bollywood and call it luck or his talent, Ali  Zafar is one of them.  With his first movie across the border, it seemed that he would soon return to Pakistan with no aim of working outside the country, but that’s what progress is all about and finally, Ali Zafar’s most awaited venture is all way done and will release in India on April 5, 2013.

Chashme Baddoor (2013) Hindi MP3 Songs Download

David Dhavan’s remake of an old classic Indian movie Chashme Baddoor is assumed to be an entertaining package for every member of the family where Ali Zafar will be seen in the role of Farooque Sheikh, that is, a lead role. Ali seems quite happy about it and said:

“When I saw the original ‘Chashme Buddoor’, I knew that the plot must retain its authenticity. Also, while it must have been a challenge to render it into modern times and aesthetics, David sir has done a brilliant job. It’s a family entertainer. I think we are all excited about it,”

The movie is also close to his heart because just like his previous movie, London, Paris, New York, he has sung a song for this one too which has already grabbed a good audience by now. The song is what you know as  “Dhichkyaaon Doom Doom” and Shreya Ghoshal has also contributed in vocals.

The audience is waiting for the movie to figure it out that how one of their favorite old movies looks like after 30 years.

Lets see how things turn out to be for Ali Zafar,

Remake Of Old Pakistani Classic Films By Geo And Tarang Foods

0

There was a time when Pakistani films were watched by all the cinema goers and the leading ladies and gentlemen used to be the heart throb of many Pakistanis. Not only this but some of the old Pakistani films’ music was simply unforgettable. Even people who do not belong to the generation in which these films were released have watched these movies or if nothing else have definitely heard the songs. Geo Films and Tarang foods have taken a very positive step by remaking six of these unforgettable classics as telefilms. Many of us are eagerly waiting for these telefilms to be aired because the promos look very promising and who wouldn’t want to watch a classic again. The project has been named the “Tarang Housefull” project and the music for all the six movies will be released in Karachi on March 20th. This is not going to be the first time that Geo Films has taken a step forward to revive cinema in Pakistan, The movie Bol was also a Geo Films productions and was highly appreciated at home and abroad.

The films which have been remade as tele-films include Aaina, Deewar Bhabbi, Arman, Abhi tu Mein Jawan Houn, Anjuman and Dil Mera Dharkan Teri. Here are the details of these upcoming telefilms and some of the promos…definitely something wonderful to look forward to.

Tarang Films

Armaan has to be the most waited of all the telefilms because it stars Fawad Khan and also because Armaan was a big hit of its time. The classic film Armaan was produced by Waheed Murad and directed by Pervaiz Malik. It was the first Pakistani film to complete 75 weeks in cinemas and, thus, became the first Pakistani “Platinum Jubilee” film. It starred Zeba and Waheed Murad and the song Ko Ko Korina was a huge hit, it also won six awards.

Armaanarman

The telefilm Armaan has been produced by Seventh Sky Entertainment and directed by Anjum Shehzad. Fawad Afzal Khan and Amna Sheikh are playing the lead in the Telefilm, one of the promos is already out. Acccording to the producer Abdullah Kadwani “Fawad is the closest actor to Waheed Murad”. He also added while talking to express tribune that “Whether it was his hairstyle, grooming or fashion sense, Waheed Murad is a legacy when it comes to Pakistani films, It was through Armaan that he also solidified his status as chocolate boy.” I am sure many will agree with him that Fawad Khan indeed was the right choice for playing the character which was once played by the legendary Waheed Murad.

abhi tu mei

Abhi Tu Mein Jawan Hun is another telefilm that looks very interesting from the promos but we don’t know a lot of details about it yet except that It stars Meekal Zulfiqar, Bushra Ansari, Atiqa Udho and Ayesha Khan. Everyone is very well acquainted with the song “Abhi tu mein jawan hun” and the storyline of the telefilm seems just as fun and bubbly as the song itself. We will be watching all our favorite stars in a completely new light. I think Meekal will do a great job with his character since the guy does have a knack for humor.

abhi tu mein jawan hun

Anjuman is another old classic that is being remade, this was another classic that was watched and liked by many for a very long time. The telefim stars Sara Loren, Imran Abbas, Suhaee Ali Abroo and others. The telefilm has been directed by Yasir Nawaz and written by Zanjabeel Asim and Noor-ul-Huda Shah. The original film boasted of a super hit cast with Waheed Murad and Raani playing the lead.

Sara Loren

Dil Mera Dharkan Teri is yet another old Waheed Murad film that is also being remade as a telefilm. The cast includes, Ahsan Khan, Sanam Saeed and Sarwat Gillani. It has been directed by Mehreen Jabbar and Produced by Six Sigma Productions.

ahsan sarwat

The promos of the film Dewar Bhabi suggest that Sami Khan has done a wonderful job and it is nice to see Saima, who is also part of our film industry, in the telefilm. I don’t recall watching Saima on the small screen ever so definitely looking forward to that.

All of these telefilms are going to bring back old memories for those who have watched these classics and will bring some fun entertainment our way. We are very thankful to Geo Films and Tarang foods for taking this step. Which telefilms are you looking forward to the most and why?

Meera to do a Bollywood Movie “Beauty Queen”!

0

Countries that produce quality content locally are fortunate enough to have devoted artists who prefer to serve their nation first rather than seeking opportunities elsewhere.  Pakistan, despite of the fact that the drama industry has really grown huge recently, is a country where most of the singers and film industry’s celebrities  seems quite unhappy with their career within the country and are always looking for opportunities across the border.

07april_meera

Lollywood Actress Meera, who is known for her beauty and yes, for her English skills specially, is now again all set to work in India after giving two flop movies previously. She did work with Ashmit Patel in Mahesh Bhatt’s Nazar, making her debut in India, The next movie where she tried really hard to impress the Indian audience was Kasak, starring Lucky Ali but unfortunately both of the above stated movies were a great disappointment.

According to the latest reveals, Meera has been signed by  Sunil Bansal for his movie “Beauty Queen”, also starring Zeenat Aman and Aman Verma as a major cast. Meera, although hasn’t talked about her role in the movie, it is assumed that Meera is quite happy with the role been offered to her.

Just like Veena Malik and  Mona Lisa(Sara Loren), it is now Meera to switch to India to offer her acting services. Lets see how things turn out to be for her this time,

Rehaii Episode 1 – Review

0

The first 5 minutes of Rehaai’s first episode very powerful. Rehaai started out with Samina Peerzada (Shamim) looking at some jewelry and  having a flashback to a 10-11 year old girl on a swing asking her mother if Bhabi was right and that she really is getting married. That is the first time my heart stopped in that episode and I think it was only minute 4.  That set the track in motion for the remaining episode.  Rehaai is about child marriages (or child molestation in my opinion). It’s the story of Shamim who was married off when she was 10-11 years old. She now has a grown son Vaseem (Noman Ejaz) and a daughter in law Shehnaz (Maria Wasti). Vaseem and Shehnaz have been married for over 5 years yet still don’t have kids and now Vaseem is adamant on marrying again for kids. Vaseem is not only rude, obnoxious, and illiterate; he verbally and physically abuses his wife for not giving him an heir. Medically, they both are apparently fine though. Shamim is shown to be a very loving and supporting mother in law (finally) who keeps telling her son to have patience in Allah’s wisdom.

In the mix are Chacha Inayat (Munawwar Saeed) and his 11-12 year old daughter Kulsum (Yashaal). Chacha Inayat in my opinion is the root of all of Vaseem’s jahalat and badtameezi. He coerces Vaseem into thinking that he needs to marry a much younger girl so she will ‘give him a child every year.’  He even uses himself as an example by telling Vaseem that when When Kulsoom was born he was 56 and Kulsoom’s (unfortunate) mother was only 13. (I’ll discuss my contempt and disgust for this a little later).  Chacha Inayat also coerces Vaseem into agreeing to marry his daughter Kulsoom, to which even Vaseem says no since she is just a child. Later however, he agrees and when he asks his chacha when they can get married, that’s when he drops the 35,000 rupees bomb. Apparently Kulsoom’s disgusting father owes someone thousands of rupees and tells Vaseem in no certain terms will he marry his daughter off without paying off his debt. Basically he is selling his daughter for what was initially 35,000 rupees but settled at 30,000 rupees.  Needless to say Shamim is infuriated at her son’s decision, but Vaseem is willing to step over his mother’s dead body to marry Kulsum. Disgusting Chacha sends Vaseem to see Kulsoom where he tells her about their upcoming marriage. When Kulsoom confronts her father he sugar coats it by saying that since she loves her Tai Amma and Shehnaz Apa so much, he’s marrying her off to ‘Vaseem Bhai’ so she can live with them forever. Poor child has no idea about the physical and emotional torture she is about to be put through and is just happy that she will be living with Tai Ammi.  First episode ends there.

As I said above, the first episode was really powerful, yet at the same time extremely disturbing. Acting wise, you can’t get better than Samina Peerzada. She needs no words to describe her acting and neither does Munawar Saeed.  Noman Ejaz is very effective as the jaahil and badtameez person. Maria Wasti was ok…her role in the first episode (in my opinion) was definitely needed but it wasn’t anything extraordinary. I really liked how for the first time the mother in law was shown in a positive and supporting role towards a bahu who hasn’t been able to conceive yet. At the same time though, Shamim seemed too refined for that role. Her mannerisms and dialogue delivery was not in sync with the environment the characters live in. In fact until I saw Chacha Inayat, I wondered how her son could end up like that.  But then when uses terms like “hud-har***m” in front of an 11-12 year old, and that too to describe that child’s father, you are back in that environment.  Mehreen Jabbar’s direction was brilliant…especially the swing and the doll scenes.

Now, let’s acknowledge the elephant in the room…child molestation/marriages.  I absolutely think this is an issue that strongly needs to be dealt with and taken care of.  I wanted to vomit when Chacha Inayat was selling his daughter to Vaseem…it was absolutely abhorring. However, I don’t think it should have been so in your face.  Even though this was only the first episode and really not too much was shown, even what was shown was absolutely not appropriate for prime time. There should be an adult censor system for such dramas.  More than that, I am actually scared for the child star Yashal’s real life. I can’t imagine or understand how and why her parents let her do this role. The society that we live in has shown repeatedly what can happen when you have such suggestive roles. I can’t imagine what this girl went through in school or public.  I think had ‘Team Rehaai’ wanted to really talk about such injustice, it could have been done in much more subdued way and should have.  At such points people really should ask themselves if they would let their own kids do such roles. If the answer is no, then that should be the answer for every child and they should find a different way to discuss this problem. I was not at all comfortable watching this. Especially the scene where Kulsoom is bringing Chai to “Vaseem Bhai” and is completely oblivious of the fact that she is now looked upon as a prospect…absolutely sickening! I honestly don’t know what HUM TV is trying to do with showing such ‘in your face’ scenes and unfortunately it has become a trend in all of Momaina Duraid’s home productions.  They are becoming too bold and too open while hiding behind the terms ‘Social injustice.’

Kahi Unkahi Episode 20 – Review.

0

So, today’s episode was a bit calm after the storm. It again revolved around Sherry & the problems people related to him were facing.

Most of the episode was based on the flashbacks but just a quick note to the editors of the drama. ‘We’re the die heart fans of this drama & we know what has happened in the past & hence, we all, being the fans of the drama have a great memory of it, so, we do not need the flashbacks’ :). Each & every person today was seen reminiscing about the past events first Zoya then Sherry then Anam & even Mr. Kamal.

Mr. Kamal did try to ignore what has happened & was trying to keep himself busy in his work, he even tried to ignore the worrisome face of Mrs. Kamal but after all being a father, the news of Sherry’s phone getting snatched away got him involved in some sort of a deep thought or even we can say some regret too. If he had not been so cruel to Zoya & her father, Sherry wouldn’t have taken such a huge step.

Zoya, in her village is not at all happy, her father, being a simple minded person is once again fooled by the clever elder brother & his son. But Zoya has sensed what their intentions are & she is not at all willing to get married. Obviously, she is an educated & well-groomed girl, how can she even imagine living with a guy who bragged in front of his father about his qualifications which were ‘Athveen Pass’.

Sherry was totally seen busy in the travelling & to add to his woes, he lost his cellphone & his wallet. I didn’t see that coming, but yes, they have shown the reality once again. People who come from abroad do commit these sort of mistakes by not taking care of their belongings attentively & end up bearing the loss. Well, Sherry didn’t even bother about anything because to him what mattered the most was getting to Zoya by any means necessary & he was relieved to see that he had the ticket for travelling. While he was on a Tonga, I uttered to myself that how was he even using Tonga when he had no money & my husband told me ‘he must be travelling with a few pennies left in his pocket’. That cracked us up. It’s always something enjoyable to have that sort of a commentary going on while watching a drama.

Anam’s scene wasn’t shown in detail & honestly speaking I wasn’t even interested in what’s going on with that family. I am sure she will be fine but obviously being such a conceited person how can she even live for a moment without being the centre of everybody’s attention. This must be her last try to win Sherry back or to make him understand what he means to her, but sadly & fortunately enough, it’s too late now.

The preview of the next episode seems a bit more dramatic than ever. Zeeshan is obviously free & has nothing to do that’s why he always looks up for an opportunity to rush to Sherry’s place for creating a drama. Sherry is roaming around & I hope he finds Zoya ASAP & rescues her from her Taya & her cousin. Things for now are looking promising between Mariam & Ansar. They both are now seen spending a bit more time together & I am sorry to say I am not at all amused by the silent hovering soul that Mrs. Kamal has become over the last few episodes. She is not even seen participating in any of the issues that arise in her family in fact it seems like Mariam has taken her place & is trying to resolve the conflicts & the issues. I hope, for once I get to see a heated discussion between Mr. & Mrs. Kamal, where she gives him a piece of her mind for spoiling Sherry’s childhood by sending him away & for making all the wrong decisions for their family. She should at least make him realize that he has been wrong all this while. I hope it happens & if it does, it for sure will make the drama complete for me in literal sense. But, I can’t wait for the next episode. Bring it on.

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

Mera Pehla Pyar – The Finale

So Mera Pehla Pyar finally came to an end this past Saturday. I admit, I was a little surprised as I thought it would go on for at least another 3-4 episodes, especially afer Irfan’s entry, so am very happy that it was not prolonged any further.

So what happens in the last 3 episodes? Well let’s see, Maira and Bilal go to Maira’s house to get some clothes and enters Irfan. He is apparently there to threaten Maira and tell that if she remarries he will take Bilal away from her.  I’ll ignore the fact that Bilal’s age is 10 (as opposed to 11 and 12 in previous episodes) all and move on to his interaction with his estranged father.  Bilal clearly and strongly opposes Irfan’s gesture to become a father again and reminds him that he is only “Mama ka beta.”  Within 2 minutes Irfan’s entire personality changes and he all of a sudden realizes what he has done, apologizes to Maira, and wishes her well for her future endeavors.  Are you kidding me? Apparently Irfan was hit with the same magic wand that Bilal was hit with when he all of a sudden became friends with Taha in a matter of minutes. They both went from one extreme to the other in less than 2 minutes. Can the makers of MPP please tell me where to purchase this magic wand? I’ll take one in every size and color…thank you!!

Aijaz Aslam needs to realize that he is first an actor and then Faisal Qureshi’s friend. Why he would do such a pointless role is beyond me.  If this role was meatier and lasted a few episodes it would have been different, but this did not suit him at all. First of all, unlike Faisal Qureshi, Aijaz Aslam hasn’t aged well…one can see the botox and the jet black hair plugs from a mile away.  Second, he actually seemed uncomfortable portraying Irfan’s character.  His expressions, body language, dialogue delivery, all seemed very unnatural. I honestly thought he would the hindrance in Taha and Maira’s lives, but Irfan came, he saw, and he left…all within a few minutes.  Also, when Irfan is leaving and runs into Taha, he puts his hands on Taha’s shoulders; which to me was a gesture of approval and saying ‘take care of Maira and Bial.’ How does Taha get ticked off at that? With all the things in his life that he could and should have been ticked off at, the director chose this? And in fact, that was the hindrance and it lasted for almost an entire episode.

Irfan leaves while Taha is coming; Taha sees Maira with Irfan, gets (Unnecessarily) ticked off and leaves. For the next half an hour, 45 minutes we are lead to believe that there is some huge misunderstand between Maira and Taha, only to find out that Taha was uncomfortable seeing Irfan.  The entire family is worried, including Ziad of course and the only thing Zara can do is further antagonize that situation by telling both Ziad and Taha that the only reason Maira wants to marry Taha is so she can go back to Irfan (method halala for those wondering how that is going to happen).  I think my favorite part was when Taha finally said “Shut up Zara, just shut up.” I replayed that quite a few times and enjoyed it every time.  When she was mouthing off to Ziad about her conditions for their wedding, I wanted to yell ‘run Ziad run…run and don’t look back, ever!’ I have no idea why Ziad likes Zara…I concede she is very pretty and charming, but there’s a saying that ‘charm only lasts for 15 minutes…after that you better know something.’ Unfortunately Zara doesn’t know anything and her charm was over in the first episode.  There is no justification for the character of Zara. At some point writers, script editors, directors, and production houses need to realize that characters like Zara are completely unnecessary. As a female I find it offensive that the people in charge think Zara type characters are necessary for ratings. For God’s sake, please stop demeaning women.

Anyways, Taha’s father calls Maira and tells her to come straighten things out with Taha and of course she does. Everyone is now happy and wedding preparations are on full swing. In the midst of all this, Ayesha realizes how wrong she was and apologizes to Taha and her Khala. She is happy to know that Hira is finally in good hands.  The episode ends with what seemed to be Ziad and Zara’s wedding and right after that Maira and Taha’s… a happy ending for everyone finally.

Mera Pehla Pyar started out very strong. It was a family friendly script with absolutely no ‘awkward moments,’ the story (though somewhat like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in the beginning) had a more innocent and less filmy feel.  After about 10 episodes though,  not only did it feel like it was dragging a lot (some episodes could all have been combined into 1), it felt as if Mera Pehla Pyar had 3 different writers who never met each other or share their scripts with each other. The director just took all three and made the serial. I mean who would have thought that Taha, who didn’t even get ticked at his first wife for being a model, would be so uncomfortable seeing Maria’s ex (who was leaving) and have a fit? Unfortunately this is very typical of A&B productions.  Their serials always start out great, yet don’t start going down stream after a while. Even having such an experienced director like Sohail Javed didn’t help as it seemed like he forgot direction in this serial.

Having said all of that, all the characters did absolute justice to their roles (with the exception of Aijaz Aslam).  That’s the one constant that never changed. From the kids, to Laila Zuberi and Sheheryar Zaidi, to Nosheen Shah, Shazia, and of course Faisal Qureshi, everyone was on par. The script was written by the very young Zain Raza and Jawairia Hafeez. I believe this was their first venture and that too joint so just for that they deserve many accolades.

Thanks for reading everyone!

Kaash Aisa Ho Episode 8 – Insecurities!

0

Not much happened in this week’s episode. We saw Maleeha and Shayan getting closer and Irfa getting insecure and jealous. I understand Irfa’s predicament as no woman can see her husband roaming with another woman practically everywhere. She is very possessive when it comes to Shayan as she is in constant fear that he will leave her for another woman, as she feels that she is not good enough for him. She tries to tell Shayan how she feels and also tells him what neighbors have started to say about him and Maleeha, but she gets a very vague response from him. He replies that it is a part of his job and Adeel Farooqui had given him the responsibility to take care of Maleeha. Since when did you become so responsible Shayan?

After their conversation, Irfa becomes resigned and tells Shayan that he can do whatever he wants and she would not say anything to him anymore. It was the first time Irfa got extremely upset with Shayan and this time Shayan went to patch things up with Irfa (Just like Irfa had dreamed before). He said the most amazing dialogues which won her over once again. He said that ‘I married you because I knew you loved me, and I know that nobody in this world can love me more than you. You are the only one who can turn all my sadness into happiness. Do not ever think that Shayan will leave Irfa. People like Maleeha and Adeel Farooqui will come and go from our life and they should not affect our relationship’

These were the most beautiful dialogues said in the most beautiful manner. They managed to melt Irfa’s heart and I must say mine too.

I always had this feeling from the beginning that Adeel Farooqui’s intentions were not good and this episode confirmed it. He asked Maleeha if she is interested in Shayan which shocks Maleeha. She tells him that he is a married man but in reply her father says that his wife does not suit him and she is not the kind of wife he can ever be happy with and he will get fed up of her very soon. How pathetic and low can he get? This managed to bring Maleeha’s hopes up and she got even more obsessed with Shayan. I cannot believe that she took sleeping pills just because Irfa picked up the phone when she called Shayan and told her not to disturb him. What a psychopath!

I hated the way Shayan ignored Irfa because of Maleeha. Adeel Farooqui asked him to accompany Maleeha for shopping and he agreed! He could have easily said no! He has always been very blunt and straightforward but what happened now? Shayan is a very confusing character. On one hand, he assures Irfa that he loves her and on the other hand, he also likes to roam around with Maleeha and enjoys her company. Maleeha is also trying to create misunderstanding between Irfa and Shayan and that is why she insisted on going inside his house to make Irfa aware that Shayan was with her the whole time. Irfa gets extremely sad and irritated to see this. He does even look after Irfa in her current condition. She needs care and attention and he is not able to provide her any and as usual, Irfa does not complain. Shahood Alvi also got introduced as Dr Bilal in this episode. He helps Irfa when she was not feeling well. Let’s see what his role is in this drama.

Overall, it was a good episode with some amazing dialogues. Mohib Mirza stole the show with his beautiful dialogues in this episode.

Keep watching the show! A lot of things are coming up!

Daagh Episode 21 – Surrounded by Problems!

0

Sometimes I wonder what makes me watch this show. There is nothing new in the storyline and some scenes are extremely distressing to watch. But there is definitely something which makes me watch one episode after the other without any fail and I think it is the lesson in it. I love shows with a lesson and a good message that reaches across to the audiences. There are lots of men like Murad who crave for sons and many women like Umama who suffer because of their husband’s obsession with sons. A show which manages to get a message across and influence lives is definitely worth a watch!

We saw one difficulty after another engulfing Umama in this episode. Life has become hard for Umama after her father’s death as she needs to look after 4 kids and support all of them alone financially too. It saddens her to see that she cannot even fulfill small needs of her kids. They barely have enough to eat while at Murad’s house there is more than enough food to eat, but no one present to eat it. She thinks of asking Murad to give money for his daughters but then decides against it. Her self-respect is refraining her from asking him for money but the question is, for how long?

It is hard to decide whether Mushtaq is an angel or a devil in disguise. He offers to help Umama which she gladly accepts. I sense that he has an ulterior motive behind his caring and helpful attitude, but what can it possibly be? It is hard to believe that he is interested in Umama and the kids all of a sudden. Her neighbors have started noticing Mushtaq coming to her house from time to time, and a woman comes to her place and points finger at her character! How pathetic! Why can’t people mind their own business? After that, Umama clearly tells Mushtaq not to visit their house.

After seeing Mushtaq drop the kids and Umama to school, Murad finally changes his decision and decides to go to Umama and offers her to come back to his house. Umama clearly refuses to come back and gets extremely angry when Murad asks if Mushtaq is the reason why she is not ready to come back. After hearing this, Umama’s patience gives away and she gives Murad a piece of her mind. She tells him that unlike him, she knows her limits. Murad definitely needed this!

Deeba has again started to play her games. She has again worn the facade of being a very obedient and caring wife and daughter in law. She manages to fool Murad but Aqeela is well aware of her games now and knows that she will change once she achieves her motive. Deeba even goes to Umama’s house to warn her to stay away from Murad. Umama clearly tells her to keep Murad because she has no interest in him anymore. After failing to convince Murad to give Umama a divorce, she tries to make Umama agree to give Murad a divorce. But as usual, all her efforts fail and Umama refuses to listen to her.

I loved the dialogue spoken by Aqeela to Murad:

“Yaad Rakhna Murad, Jo Bo Ge Wohi Paoge”

She tries to tell him that by doing injustice to Umama and her daughters, you are making a grave mistake as it will all come back to you in the form of karma. Well said Aqeela! I can’t believe I am saying this, but I actually agree with her.

It is hard for Umama to teach at the school as she needs to look after Soha too. She gets kicked out of the school when the principal clearly tells her that such careless attitude will not be tolerated. How will she support her kids now? Will she ask Murad for money or go back to his house again?

Let’s see what is in store for us in the next episode.
Keep watching!

Sara Loren Signed three more Movies with Bhatts!

0

If you take a closer look of the trend that is been followed by Mahesh Bhatt and his production house, it can be easily noticed that one they launch an artist, they make sure that the newcomers  survive pretty well in the industry. It had been Malika Sharwat, Imran Hashmi and Raneep  Hooda previously and its now the Mona Lisa of Pakistan who is now known as Sara Loren of India.

After earning a considerable amount of fame, wealth and recognition after her film with Mahesh Bhatt, Sara Loren’s performance in her movie Murder 3 has been one of the most interesting controversies lately. Although the co-stars of Loren found the importance given to her as unnecessary but it seems like Loren has been successful in making her place in the hearts of Bhatt and for that she has been signed for next three films from the same production.

Lets see what new changes she makes in her personality and nationality for her upcoming movies,

Dil-e-Muzter Episode 4 – Love Overpowering Hate!

0

Another episode that kept me hooked throughout! At first, I could understand why Adeel was behaving so rudely with Silah but now his behavior has turned cruel towards her. He is being extremely unreasonable and his behavior has become intolerable to watch. He is trying his best to make Silah regret her decision of marrying him and he is in no mood to forgive her. Silah, on the other hand, is refusing to break down and forgives Adeel for all his insults and taunts. She is being patient and cooperative as she knows that Adeel is angry now, but he would not be able to remain angry at her for long. At one point or the other, he will realize how much she loves him and reciprocate her feelings. She firmly believes that her love will overpower all his hate towards her.

I felt really felt bad for Silah in this episode. Adeel kept on hurting her and making her cry with his crude words. The scene where Safeena calls Silah and he snatches the phone from her and listens to all the insults and later on, the way he screams at her so badly made me cringe. Also, the way he scolded and insulted her just for going out for shopping with his friend’s wife Nabeela without his permission was just pathetic! Silah is trying her best to adjust to this situation and never complains about anything. And surprisingly, this irks Adeel more as he hates her for being so cooperative and obedient. She obeys all his orders without questioning him even once.
I must say, I really liked Adeel’s friend Sami as he was trying to make Adeel realize how lucky he is to have a wife like Silah, he kept on giving examples of how other wives behave with their husbands and how demanding they can be. This makes Adeel think and he finally notices that Silah does not ask anything for herself. This softens him a little towards her. He is finally realizing how much she had put at stake to be a part of his life. She has lost all her relationships because of her love for him and has no one expect him now. Adeel kept on thinking why Silah is enduring his unreasonable behavior towards her silently and why she never complains, he just cannot digest the fact that someone can love him so much but Sami makes him realize this fact. He tells Adeel that she chose this kind of life, full of hardships, because she truly loves him.

Adeel has finally started to think of Silah in a positive light, his anger is slowly dissipating and he is starting to think from Silah’s point of view too. I absolutely loved the scene where they get an invitation from Sami and his wife to come to their place for dinner and he wears the shirt she had gifted him for his birthday. Silah notices this and comments that he looks nice! I loved the way she said ‘Ap Bohat Ache Lag Rahe Hai’ and the way she innocently asked Adeel ‘Mein Kaisi Lag Rahi Hun?’ and Adeel’s cold ‘Theek Hai’ brought a smile to my face. His attitude is slowly improving towards her as he refrained from taunting or making a vile comment this time. Phew! What a relief!

There were a few scenes in the episode that brought a huge smile on my face. The scene where he rudely orders her not to call him ‘Adi’ and she replies that it is a very old habit with a smile made him realize that his anger, taunts, insults and unrealistic demands have absolutely no effect on her. This makes him extremely frustrated! It was absolutely delightful to see him in this frustrated state. He totally deserved it!

Safeena has finally showed her true colors as she lies to Zamaan about Silah asking for her share in the inheritance when Safeena had called her. In reality, she had called Silah to insult her and to tell her that they have no relation with her anymore. She even tells her not to come back to them if Adeel kicks her out. She brainwashed Zamaan so much against Silah that he disowned her from his inheritance. He has decided to break all ties with her and both of them have decided to shift to Canada. Silah will be very upset when she will get to know that her parents have left without even informing her.

What I loved about the episode was that it was extremely fast paced and did not drag at all. All the scenes were a delight to watch because of the amazing chemistry between Sanam and Imran. The preview for the next episode seems very promising and I am eagerly looking forward to the next episode.

Keep watching the show! A lot of things are coming up!

It is always more than a pleasure when you see your country progressing in something if not economy, and no doubts about the fact that this nation is all full of talent. If you are an university student and keeps a track of all the latest happenings, you must know what level of potentials our youth has. It was only today that I attended a technology related competition which had been organized by the volunteers of Mohammad Ali Jinnah University-Karachi, and it was a real fun being there.

Skipping the professional and academics part from the story, I decided to share the happenings that took place in the event which are related to the celebrities we genuinely love to see on our television screens. The heroes of this event SPARC-2013 are the guitarist-cum-singer, Salman Ahmed from the band Junoon and Mr. Farooq Sattar, the representative of one of the major political parties that are active in Karachi, the MQM.

The audience could not stop hooting when Salman Ahmed first appeared on stage and his legendary song “Junoon se aur ishq se milti hai azaadi” was been played in background. It was announced that it would be Mr. Imran Khan to appear in the university to hand over the gifts and prices to the winners but as Salman Ahmed revealed, Mr. Khan is really occupied in Lahore for his Jalsa which is scheduled on 23rd of March. Salman, though declared himself as an artist with no political influences, his speech had clear shades of how much he is inspired by the great Captain, Imran Khan and his policies. He also asked  the students to spare one day from their studies and visit Minaar-e- Pakistan on Pakistan day because that Jalsa would be a historical event and one should not really miss it.

Sharing his experiences with the audience, Salman stated that his mother gave him two options to choose as a career, one, to become a doctor, and second, to become a doctor indeed. He shared that after his degree, he asked for a year for himself to explore what he actually wants from himself and it was then that he found his talent. He also shared few moments that he spent with his dear friend Junaid Jamshed and turned the center of discussion from politics towards his new song. It was only at that time when the chief guest and a sound member of Mutaheda Qoumi Movement, Mr. Farooq Sattar entered the auditorium and it seemed strange to have two representatives of different political parties sharing the same stage.

Salman Ahmed addressed Mr. Sattar and informed him that it was “Dil dil Pakistan” few years back and its now “Naya Pakistan’ Inshallah”. With this, he started performing on the song and left no other option for the viewers but to feel a patriot within themselves.

Just after Salman’s performance, It was Mr. Sattar who started his speech and mentioned that his words follow the policy of ZONG (that is, SUB KEHDO) and not of Telenor (That is. Tawk Shawk, Baton waaton main). The humor that his words created lightened the environment and he further continued his speech, highlighting the aims and objectives of his party.DSC08871

He also encouraged the youth to come forward and take a stand to ensure the personal security in a country where Pizza Service is quicker than the Police. The students of the university and the participants from different universities maintained the decorum throughout his speech and finally he handed over the prices and shields to the winners of the competition.

It was a good experience all in all to hear from two celebrities who were there to represent their work, trying to promote their work and ideologies among the youth of Karachi.

Hoping that you will find this share interesting enough to leave your comments,
