The incident or drama whatever you may call it is still fresh in our minds when a girl was insulted by Sahir Lodhi in his Ramadan transmission. The actor had given a very effective and emotional (according to him) speech. PEMRA had sent a notice to the channel on the whole controversy.
Latest development is PEMRA has directed the host to apologize to the nation in his show and it will be run on the screen that PEMRA has directed the host to do it.
There was a hearing held on the 5th of June, 2017 where it was decided that Sahir Lodhi was in violation of various clauses of PEMRA’s Electronic Media Code of Conduct 2015. In case the channel does not comply with the authority, legal action will be taken under section 29 and 30. Surely the stunt has caused Sahir more damage than he would have thought.
In the recent years where our media has turned the Holy month of Ramadan into an opportunity to grab ratings and generate revenue out of it, where everything that our TV channels do mostly defy the essence of Ramadan, where it is all about fun and games from last few years, a show like Ittehad Ramadan came as a breath of fresh air. Aplus’ Ittehad Ramadan transmission is the only Ramadan transmission which does not only celebrate the true spirit of this Holy month but is actually very well thought out because their main motive was not to generate revenue by following the rat race by competing with other channels by doing what they do. The team of Ittehad Ramadan actually decided to do something which was not only in new and fresh but totally in accordance with the teachings of Ramadan and they decided to explore different dimensions to give people a perspective of what their fellow Muslims are like.
Unlike other channels which invested in grabbing the attention of the general public by using cheap tactics in this month, Aplus came up with a great idea which is truly inspiring as well as educational, where they sent a few of their celebrity volunteers with their teams to different Muslims Countries, to not only showcase the culture there but also to document those places which have an Islamic relation. What made things even more special was the fact that some of those places were mentioned in our Holy Book – The Glorious Qur’an Majeed and to see them being discussed in detail was a great initiative. This definitely has to be the first time ever that any team took such a measure that too for their audience because it was evident that they wanted to do good by the viewers and wanted them to learn something new every single day about different Muslim countries and their fellow Muslim brothers.
What makes Ittehad Ramadan a bit more special is the spirit with which all those people involved in this project have executed the idea because it makes it even more impactful. The enthusiasm and love with which the show is being hosted by Shahita Lodhi and Noor ul Hassan and presented by all those people who have gone to different countries to explore the customs, traditions and the religious places and monuments is another reason why it is a complete success. It is great watching a show which serves a bigger purpose. Omair Rana, Junaid Akram, Sami Khan, Nadia Hussain, Fakhar e Alam, Junaid Khan, Minal Khan, Ali Kazmi, Imran Abbas, Ali Azmat, Dino, Nadeem Jaffry, Ali Safina each and everyone has contributed a great deal in making this initiative taken by Aplus a success because to take the time out for such a time-consuming practice that too in Ramadan is not an easy feat but the fact that they volunteered to do it shows that even they wanted to bring something new to the table for the sake of the audience. Not only the celebrities, but the cameramen and the entire crew that decided to put the comfort of spending Ramadan with their families aside to cover these shows also makes them worth the appreciation and respect as well.
In one of the shows, Shahista did mention that it would’ve taken them half the budget and half the effort to bring the similar sort of game show to the audience which everyone else at this stage was offering but their team decided to do something different and not only that, they decided to educate the people, which is definitely something huge considering how every other channel is only indulged in the race for ratings. The team of Aplus has definitely given Pakistani audience the confidence and have restored their faith in the media that in the middle of this chaos, there do exist people like these who want to bring something beneficial for the sake of audience.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gHNq9b1EenI
The way each and every single volunteer showed around the places and spoke about the events that took place showed their dedication and the research that they put in for this show because it was like even they understood what their team wanted them to convey. Be it the visit to Syrian Refugees in Turkey, or visiting the Holiest of Places in Oman, or breaking fasts with fellow Muslims in Turkey or Malaysia, everything really struck a chord on a very different level and at the same time it made us proud that this was the initiative taken by our Pakistani channel. They informed and educated people so much about different cities and their culture that it really made us look forward to every single episode. What we find worth appreciating here is the fact that in Pakistan, when Ittehad Ramadan goes on-air, it used to be such a time when ladies especially would be busy preparing Iftaar for their families so their social media team vigilantly kept on uploading all those videos so that anyone who has missed those bits could later watch them too. All these little gestures really show that the team of Aplus and Ittehad Ramadan put their mind to it and had this clear vision of how they wanted to spread this effort that they took for their audience.
The tagline of the show ‘Aik Hon Muslim’ is also symbolic of the concept of Ummah; the idea that Muslims all around the world are one no matter which corner of the world they live in, their religion is the binding factor between them. Watching all these countries coming together in some way through this show is another reason why this Ramadan transmission is a step towards the right direction. We hope that other channels also derive inspiration from this show and next year come up with new ideas which grab the attention of the viewers for all the right reasons instead of banking on shortcuts like offering bikes and cars in their game shows.
The team and the Producers of Aplus Ittehad Ramadan, Hosts, the Celebrity Volunteers and their Crew Members deserve a standing ovation for putting an effort into something so meaningful and for executing it in such a way that it actually served and achieved the purpose that they were after. We first of all thank and then congratulate each and every single member of the team associated with this project and wish them more power, luck and success for next Ramadan because we hope they follow the same pattern next time around as well and allow us to explore different countries within the comfort of our homes. We thank all of you from the bottom of our hearts.
Zahra Mirza & Fatima Awan.

Who is the winner on television this Ramadan? Yes, GAME SHOWS! From Amir Liaquat, Fahad Mustafa to Sahir Lodhi everyone ventured into the genre. Even our sports stars Wasim Akram and Shoaib Akhter are also running their game show this season.
As we all know Fahad’s show topped all the TRP Charts during Ramadan, Amir bhai was also giving Mercedes and planes on his show. So who won the race for being the most paid host? The answer is……………….!
Yes you guessed it right: Fahad Mustafa.
If reports are to be believed Fahad has claimed to be the most paid host of the season though he did not reveal his salary; followed by Amir Liaquat. With Jeeto Pakistan being the favourite show of the audience during Ramadan; this is not of much surprise. All in all it cannot be denied that game shows have become another genre on the television and if TRP’s are to be believed people are loving them.
Our captain has lately been stealing hearts of Pakistanis everywhere what with Pakistan’s win in the match against India, winning the ICC Champion’s Trophy, and of course his humble and modest outlook to all of it.
Celebrities everywhere are gushing over the cricket star, including our very popular man-crush Adnan Siddiqui. But it seems like Sarfraz himself is a fan of the Sammi actorand we have this video to prove it.
https://www.instagram.com/p/BVqS3yYAjmn/?r=wa1
Isn’t it sweet?
It seems like Adnan is now up to his neck with work for promoting his movies Yalghaar and MOM, both of which seem pretty promising and set to release this Eid and September, respectively.
We wish the actor the best of luck for his success and we cannot wait to hear and see more from him while being on tour for the promotions.
Well it shouldn’t be that big a surprise. Accordingly each person on the planet is scientifically known to have six to seven twins out there in the world, and it seems like Pakistan has found one of none other than the celebrated pop star Justin Bieber!
Omer Khalil, is a dweller of Rawalpindi, and is quite unperturbed about his similar facial features with the I’m the One singer.
Referring to the press, Khalil is known to have said:
“It was my friends who were the first to notice the similarity. It was only a matter of time till others too began pointing out the same thing.” – Indian Express
The young boy is no doubt enjoying his fame on this coincidence and we have some pictures uploaded by him to prove it!
Uncanny, really.
And for the final showdown
Will wonders ever cease?

When you talk about our industry’s boldest women, Nadia Khan is among the forerunners. If there is a go getter female in media, who speaks her mind and can tackle anyone head on, it is Nadia Khan. She is the pioneer of Pakistani morning shows and has run it successfully from Dubai and then Karachi. Her dynamic personality and lively demeaneor has inspired her audiences for years.
Recently, Nadia Khan had left morning show and and gave rise to many speculations as to what her next medium would be or that maybe she has left showbiz but she has put an end to all of that by explaining that she will be appearing on TV but as an actress.
So we will be seeing Nadia Khan in a TV play after a lapse of about 17 long years.
Here she is an interview with a video blogger, explaining that she has had enough of morning shows. They are a been there, done that territory for her and now she wants to venture back into acting because it’s scene is ON. She showed her disdain for morning shows that there is nothing new happening in them and nothing that requires any talent, so she is tired of the monotony of morning show game. She said she has also made sure that her producers have casted all the best actors for this drama. If there was a mismatched casting , she wouldn’t have done that. Though, the way she says here that she would not like halkay actors to work in the play where she is working… talk about putting your foot in your mouth.
Talking about social media, she said it has a very dark side it to, just like you wouldn’t know who is an abuser or a rapist among you in an open market, you never know on social media as well. This is precisely the point of this drama as well. How families and users and abusers are affected by misuse of social networking is the context of her play. They have shooted for ten days already and her roles have been alongside Sami Khan and Saba Hameed.
She said she has had an offer of an Indian movie but she does not want to take part in it due to the controversial role offered to her in it.
Nadia Khan also has a YouTube channel which she mentions that she is working on to inform and empower the women of Pakistan. She says her vlogs are not about criticism of Pakistani media actors but about genuine reviews products of events.
She also clears the air about the rift between herself and Shaista Lodhi, saying that channels switch between them for increasing popularity but they have are good friends personally.
When asked about game shows, Nadia Khan candidly replied that she cannot make people eat watermelon and all the other game show stuff, so she would never host any of them.
Explaining her comeback experience of acting after 17 years, Nadia said that she feels like a child in Disneyland when she is on sets.
Now that is one excited actress. Hope the play is as enjoyable for the audience as it is for Nadia !!
Trailer of Na Maloom Afraad is out. The cast of the movie Fahad Mustafa, Mohsin Abbas Haider, Javed Sheikh attended the event alongside director Nabeel Qureshi and producer Fizza Ali Meerza. Mehwish Hayat and Sadaf Kanwal also attended the event. Marina Khan and Fahad’s wife Sana were also seen. Take a look at the pictures!
Syed Noor is returning to direction with Chain Aaye Na. The film stars Shahroze Sabzwari, Sarish Khan, Adil Murad, Mustafa Qureshi, Atiqa Odho, Nadeem and Behroze Sabzwari. Before giving an insight into the film, Noor said he was going to bring back dignified films to the screen. Chain Aaye Na’s trailer is out and IT IS SHOCKING! Have a look!
The film claims to be a love story and whether it is what it claims to be or not, only will become clear after its release. The film is set to release on July 21. They need to hire a better editor too as the trailer is very disconnected. Share your thoughts on the trailer!
Khalil u Rehman Qamar is once again weaving magic on the screen with his new serial Tau dil ka kya hua. This much anticipated Hum Tv serial boasts a star cast including Ayeza Khan, Zahid Ahmed, Sami Khan and Marsha Pasha.
The play is brought forth by Momina Duraid, Samina Humayun Saeed and Sana Shahnawz and deals with a very interesting story of marriage, extra marital affairs, divorce, love and betrayal.
Sana Shahnawaz is all praises for her play, saying that once she read the script, she was hooked and couldn’t wait to move on to the next episode and she believes it will have the same effect on audiences.
From what we gather from the promos, it looks as if Ayeza Khan has cheated on her husband Sami Khan by getting involved with Zahid Ahmed and the betrayed husband then decides to take revenge and Mansha Pasha seems to be the beneficiary of this marital conflict.. But let’s not jump to conclusions and wait for the drama to air to clarify how black and how white these characters are on reel.
Muhammad Amir got married last year with his British born and bred but originally Pakistani wife, Narjis. They met in England during the period he was banned from cricket, fell in love and tied the knot with their families’ blessings.
The young and energetic couple loves taking pictures together and post them proudly at various social media sites, where there are both very active.
Ohkay so, this was yet another interesting episode of Mohabbat.pk. I must say the wit & the intelligence that the Qabza group has in this drama is basically a depiction of the wit & the intelligence of Mustafa Afridi as a writer. I was actually interested to see how things will roll but the way everything was unfolded surprised me because none of it was something that I could see coming. I love how the Qabza Group is making the most of every single opportunity that comes their way to make sure they get what they want, which is Nazim’s house.
So, this time around, it was Nazim who went ham on his family & did everything to blackmail them. Kazim definitely takes it after his father because despite not wanting to, he ended up succumbing to the pressures & said yes to his Nikkah with Zoha. It was amusing how at first Nazim only showed that he was trying to convince Kazim but the moment he said yes, Nazim put forth another agenda, which was that he had to get married to Zoha the same day. In the middle of this chaos, the one who did the best job was Sikandar, because he himself had no idea who he should be siding with, so he tried to stay neutral by supporting both Nazim & Mrs. Nazim.
I must say Ehtashaam is a jack of all trades but he is definitely a master of none because even though he was taking care of the formalities & documentation of Nikkah, he forgot one of the most important aspects of it which was Haq Meher. Zoha finally got Nikkaofied that too after she conducted an online poll whether she should say yes or no. Zoha definitely gives her fans a lot of edge & she has made them such an important part of her life that she even said yes to her Nikkah when the majority of the votes were in its favor, lol!
Just when I was wondering what was going to happen next, Dada Jee took me by surprise when he decided to make the most of the missing clause from Nikkah, which was the official mention of Haq Meher. Even though it was devilishly intelligent of Dada Jee that he decided to turn it into an opportunity which will guarantee his permanent stay in this place, but what I found far more interesting was how he subtly blackmailed Ehtasham to write whatever Dada Jee wanted by saying that he actually kept his biggest mistake as a secret because he didn’t want people to think that he was an incompetent Nikkah-khuwan, lol!
So, Zoha wants to get done with her Rukhsati but Dada Jee insists that it is Kazim who should get Rukhsat from his home & come to live with them as he knows that if Zoha will leave this place, no one will allow him & Jabir to live there too. Jabir’s stance in this entire situation turned him into a villain which Zoha by the way linked to Zubiya & Khalil’s situation in Yakeen Ka Safar. It left me wondering if it was a coincidence that Zoha was reviewing all those dramas that I have reviewed till date? LOL! Poor Jabir had no idea that under the influence of Dada Jee, Zoha herself has turned into a blackmailer, that is why he gave up & told her that everything that he said meant nothing actually!
Well, Twinkle came to Pakistan but at the wrong time, wrong in a sense that she was a bit late & couldn’t save Kazim. I wish they had limited the usage of the word ‘Talaq’ because even though it is a comedy drama & everything was being said & conveyed in jest, the fact still remains that some of the characters were rooting for this divorce. I am sure Twinkle has no idea who she is dealing with – Dada Jee will make sure that he sends her off to Amreeka!
I had a great time watching this episode of Mohabbat.pk too. I am loving the acting of all the actors. I am actually looking forward to the next episode because Kazim will speak about Haq Meher too but when he will try to use it in his favor, he will get to know that Dada Jee is far more cunning than he could ever imagine! Please share your thoughts about this episode of Mohababt.pk
Gem of this episode:
‘Jo kaum Trump ko saddar bana sakti hai, to mere Kazim ko kyu nahi bana sakti’.
Sajal Ali will soon make her debut alongside Adnan Siddiqui and Sridevi in Mom. She has quoted it as her dream debut and is very excited about it. This is what she said on trailer release:
“They say dream big. I did. They say dreams come true. It did for me. Sharing the screen with Sri Devi, Akshay Khanna, Nawazuddin Siqqique and Adnan Siddiqui. It has been the most liberating experience of my career. I would specially like to mention our Director for keeping such a high level of faith in me. Thank you so much Sir! Ravi Udyawar Mama- This one is all and all for you.”
The film is directed by Ravi Udyawar and this is his debut too as a director. This is what he said in an interview about his film and why he chose Sajal to play the troubled 18 year old:
“It’s been a long journey, Everything fell in place when I met Boney (Kapoor) sir. He’s a director’s producer.” he said while appreciating the producer. “Unspoken words and silences can convey a lot more than dialogues,” he says and discloses that he chose Sajal Ali for her expressive eyes and commends her for an “effortless performance”.
Mom is releasing on July 7th. We wish Sajal Ali and Adnan Siddiqui best of luck for their debut.
Shehenshah e Ghazal Mehdi Hassan’s son Arif Hassan has called upon Indian government to help build the maestro’s mausoleum. At his demise the Federal and Sindh government had promised to build his mausoleum and a library in his name. But even after 5 years now; nothing has been done.
Arif said:“My father was a great singer who did a lot for this country,I wanted our government do this work but since it has not done anything I’m left with no other option but to ask others for help.”
Mehdi Hassan Sahab had 6 sons. And the other family is not happy with Arif’s decision. They have criticized him as they think this will bring bad name to the family and nation.
Another of his sons Sajjad Hassan said: “We still reject any Indian support for the construction of my father’s mausoleum as this country gave us a lot, including honour.” He said this in the context that his father always denied any help from India even when he was alive and the elders of the family are also criticizing Arif’s decision.
Mehdi Hassan Sahab has equally been loved by both Pakistanis and Indians.

These are names of some of the greatest contributors to our music industry. Several others have indeed made great contributions to make our music industry as successful as it is today.
First Shaan was missing from trailer launch of Yalghaar and then the premier. Obviously things were wrong somewhere. When director Dr. Hassan Rana introduced every actor of the movie for about 10 minutes each and forgot the name of Shaan; a reporter had to ask him why he is forgetting the lead actor and as they say jawab gol mol hi hua.
And now Shaan has responded to a person on facebook like this:
Shaan has not promoted the movie on any of his social media handles. So with this many question have arisen. Was using Shaan’s name just a promotional strategy? Is something wrong between Shaan and the makers? If Shaan is just making a guest appearance audience will be disappointed. The speculations will obviously be cleared after the release since Shaan has not given any official statement.
Haris Waheed and Maryam Fatima were seen together in Udaari and in many other dramas separately. They have recently married eachother in quite a private ceremony after a full fledge love story that included all the elements of a Bollywood movie, boy meets girl, fall in love, zaalim samaj stands in between and they fight every obstacle to find their happily ever after.
We probed them deeper to find the inside story to this marriage and got to know many interesting details from Haris which we will share with you here;
Delightedly remembering their first encounter, Haris said , “Maryam and I met in the makeup room of MD Productions, she was shooting for another project and I was getting ready for the Bridal Couture Week 2016 where the entire cast of Udaari was to walk the ramp. I hadn’t slept in 2 days and she was sitting on the sofa, waiting for her shot to be ready. I asked her if she could let me sleep on the sofa whilst she sat on the chair. She looked up at me, nodded and quietly shifted onto the chair. I closed my eyes but couldn’t sleep so I started talking to her. And believe me when I say, I had never met a girl as brilliant and eloquent as her until that moment. She was a true beauty with brains and I was instantly smitten”.
I knew she was the one the moment I walked out of that room. I somehow found a way to reach her and I did. We became best friends and our association was in no way romantic. For a few months we lost touch but eventually we started talking again. Our chemistry was amazing from day one. Whenever we were together, we could start a fire. Our energies complemented each other and we were always the same. Filmy, hopeless romantics with an undying love for fairytales. I confessed my feelings for her later on. Our undefined relationship went through lots of ups and downs, but here we are now; unstoppable and inseparable.
Talking about the secretive nikah ceremony and the problems faced by the couple before it, Haris shared; ” Our marriage wasn’t a conventional one, it was pretty surreal. The first nikah-khwan refused to conduct the ceremony because of the absence of Maryam’s family. So, we got married in court, with the involvement of my family. The cutest thing was that my elder brother applied henna to Maryam’s hands the night before our nikah. There wasn’t any funny incident in particular but during the nikah, when the witnesses were being asked their names, my brother was so confused that he said my name instead of his own. She loves my family and my family loves her. It’s the beginning of something magical. You’ll all see.
Wow.. this has to be one of the steamiest love story we have heard in a long time . All the best to them from us in their new beginnings.
so this episode was quite slow and had no further development to the plot. Yet, it did not seem unnecessarily dragged because the whole point is to show the plight of a mother who has to raise four daughters in this society all by hersef, and that was emphasised quite well here. The things Naheed had to bear, though extreme were very realistic. Once again, I cannot help praising whoever thought of Saima Noor playing the lead. She is flawless as the helpless woman who happens to be a determined mother . The contradictions of her personality is very well executed. she knows she has nothing going for her except the sheer will to make her daughters’ lives happier and that keeps her going.
However, other women in her life are persistent in making things hard for her. First, that khala was so mean to Naheed and then she had to request Fariha for minding Kiran while she was away, and we all know how evil and heartless she is. After a heated argument with her brother over Fariha’s tales, he had a change of heart and little Kiran found a place to stay for the afternoon.
It looks like one of Naheed’s trouble subsidies just to give rise to another. Now that she found a steady source of income in the form of school canteen, she has to quit that because of Kiran’s falling health. On top of that, everyone is trying to make that one person who helps her go out of her life. When she asked him to help with Kiran’s medicines, her brother chose the exact time to come and meet her and that will now give rise to another stream of fire Naheed has to cross, with Fariha and khala adding fuel to the fire.. looks like Naheed’s troubles are far from over.
In Sadiq’s household, his mother has passed away due to her ill health and neglect at the hands of Aneela.. well, that hole she really did dig herself, so no sympathies.. the scene where she remembered Naheed as she had lain alone , rejected and scorned after the birth of Kiran was definitely touching. But I was hoping when Naheed was worried about childcare that Sadiq’s mother will come to know about it and offer to keep Kiran and play her part in the girls’ upbringing even without Sadiq’s help but that didn’t happen. Whatever remorse she had, has gone to her grave, without Naheed’s knowledge.
The promo shoes Kiran will die. That is so sad, since Naheed had tried her best to keep her healthy and also because she was so cute and adorable.

The star includes Madiha Imam and Ali Safina in the lead roles. It is a typical story of two cousins who fall in love and then face difficulties from their families. The telefilm is produced by Big Bang Entertainment and Dr. Ali Kazmi. It will air on ARY Digital too. Director is Ali Hassan who directed Muqaabil before this.
2 Telefilms by Mehreen Jabbar:
Mehreen Jabbar is returning to TV with telefilms. According to her both of them will be very different and are produced by 7th Sky Entertainment. One is written by Dr. Muhammad Younas Butt and second by Muhammed Ahmed.
The first one stars Feroze Khan, Sana Javed, Shamim Hilali, Ali Ansari and Hashim Butt. The telefilm is allegedly named Khaani.
The second is more of a lighthearted family drama in which there are two older couples and a couple of youngsters as stated by the director.
Teen Shauqeens:
Another one you will be able to witness this Eid is Teen Shauqeens starring Ramsha Khan, Shamoon Abbasi and Muneeb Butt among others. It has a plot of 3 bachelors after a new girl in mohalla played by Ramsha. It will air on HUM TV.
This sums up my list for upcoming Eid telefilms. Hope you will enjoy these on your screens and an advance Eid Mubarak!
Humayun Saeed is perhaps one of the most popular and leading actors of the Pakistan’s entertainment industry. He previously made his name by appearing in the most watched and enjoyed dramas by the public but has lately only been focusing on the film industry, where he has repeatedly been successful in producing and acting for blockbuster films such as Bin Roye or Yeh Jawani Phir Nhai Ayegi.
In an exclusive interview with The Nation, the Yalghaar actor shared his experience and some specifics about his upcoming role for Pakistan’s first superhero movie Project Ghazi. Following are excerpts of the interview:
Q. Tell us about your role in the film Project Ghazi?
A. The role I play in Project Ghazi is of a veteran officer of Pakistan’s advanced soldier programme.
The character is very calculated and decisive in his actions. He is perceived as a battle hardened soldier focused on his mission. He is a man who never forgets the sacrifices made by others to save his life and is motivated by a strong desire to repay the debt of those who died to save him.
Q. How was your experience of working in the film?
A. It was an intense experience. I was doing my own stunts and action especially in costume.
Q. Project Ghazi is stated to be Pakistan’s first super hero film. What are your views?
A. Yes it is! We have no modern day super hero narratives shot in Hollywood style that is at least grounded in some form of reality.
Q. Where is the film shot?
A. The film was shot in a variety of locations across Pakistan. However my shoots were all in and around Karachi.
Q. From a romantic lead on television to the obsessive anti-hero on the silver screen, your fans have accepted you as a complete actor. How do you manage the two extremes of your image?
A. By getting into character acting I take time to understand the role. Once you understand the role and then the rest becomes easy.
Q. What is next for Humayun Saeed ?
A. My next project slated to release is Punjab Nahi Jaoongi on Eidul Azha and then we are going to take up Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2.
The film is all set to release on the 14th of July and will be starring Syra Yousaf and Sheheryar Munawar as two other leading roles.
What are your thoughts on the movie? Have you watched the trailer as yet? Let us know in the comments!
Sarfraz Ahmed, the winning team captain appeared as a guest in Wasim Akram and Shoaib Akhtar’s Geo Khelo Pakistan. As he walked in, the crowd got to their feet and gave him a huge round of applause to which Sarfraz humbly replied.
In acknowledgement to his services along with his team, the captain was gifted luxurious gifts. A plot of land in Behria Town and a SUV BMW X1.
“I’m really thankful to Allah for providing us with so much honor and giving us the opportunity to enhance our reputation. In addition, it is our parents’ and fans’ prayers that got us to this place,” These were the captain’s words as he expressed his gratitude to the audience.
He was particularly happy to see Wasim Akram and Shoaib Akhtar who he said he used to watch on TV and seeing the two legends live gave him immense pleasure.
Presenting the audience with his victory in the ICC final against India as an Eid gift, Sarfraz wished everyone Eid mubarak in advance as the audience cheered him.
Ohkay so, as expected, this episode of Mohabbat.pk was hilarious too, I love how the situations are unfolding & getting interlinked where everyone is facing the brunt of one thing or the other. I love the fact that every single character has to offer something & is contributing in such a way that it makes them an important part of the story. This episode was nothing short of perfection & I had a great time watching it, almost such a great time that at one point I had to pause the episode so that I could get over with the laughter fit.
I love the fact that Sabir Dada Jee is so bezati proof, like Kazim kept on insulting Dada for running Kazim Killer account but he didn’t budge, as if he wasn’t doing anything wrong, in fact Dada made sure to remind Kazim of the video that he had in order to keep him from spilling the beans about who the owner of Kazim Killer account is. I find it extremely amusing that everyone keeps on giving Dada Jee a reference of his age while expecting him to act on it but they have no idea that Dada has such a colorful personality that he doesn’t feel like acting his age. When Kazim spoke about Dada’s adolescence & he started reminiscing about it, even I was wondering what he must’ve done back in those days, since he is still so khatarnaak & rangeen-mizaaj.
So, as usual another plan was devised by the Qabza Group to make the most of Nazim’s innocence & naivety. Dada knows that Nazim is the only one who can be played upon, so he made sure to let Zoha & Jabir know what their next plan of action would be, which will be all about pressurizing Nazim to such an extent that despite wanting to he won’t be able to back off from his word. I think it is commendable that even though Dada knows that Mrs. Nazim, Kazim, Munni & Sikandar are not in the favor of this proposal, he is still doing everything to assure that Zoha gets married to Kazim, like I love the fact how dheet this Qabza Group is.
So, finally came the moment when Nazim was blackmailed by his family & was told to back out from his word & even though Nazim tried, he had no idea what he was going to get into. I loved how ham the entire Qabza Group went in front of Nazim to make him familiar with the direness of the situation. I loved how Nazim was feeling each & every single emotion that the Qabza Group was overdoing it in front of him, like he is so simpleminded that he couldn’t even realize that they were just trying to guilt-trip him. I love how every single time they bring in Zoha’s fan following into the picture, I must say she is quite famous & that obviously means something to Nazim too because he wouldn’t want his family to face the brunt of Zoha’s fans.
It was quite interesting to see how Kazim Killer account once again changed the entire story, like even though Nazim didn’t say a word & walked out of Jabir’s home, when he met Ehtasham & got to know about Kazim & his Killer account, he went back straight up to finalize Zoha & Kazim’s marriage because he immediately realized that his son was also guilty & didn’t have a clear conscience. Also, despite wanting to, Kazim couldn’t say a word that it is Dada Jee who runs that account because even he is scared that he might release Kazim’s videos, lol. The level of blackmailing shown in this drama is epic & what’s even more epic is the fact that Nazim & Co. is falling prey to it every single step of the way.
Even though Munni & Sikandar are not involved in this entire chaos, I love how they both have a life of their own where while still being in the middle of all this, they only think about being with each other uninterrupted. Their agenda is to get Jabir’s place so that at least Sikandar can feel at home, lol. Sikandar’s dhitai is another thing worth appreciating, it is amazing how he is so thick-skinned to not even be bothered by the way he gets mistreated by everyone. The fact that everyone has their sights on Nazim’s upper-portion is amusing because that is the reason why everyone is going to such an extreme length to get it, Jabir wants it, Sikandar & Munni want it & even Mrs. Nazim wants it back too but it ain’t going anywhere because Qabza Group is far more intelligent & cunning.
Overall, this episode was quite interesting & I had a great time watching it. I must say I love the comic timing of each & every single actor, especially the actors belonging to the Qabza Group, like they have such complex dialogues that they have to deliver so effortlessly to add that humor & they have achieved that in every single scene. Obviously, the writer here gets full marks for bringing out such a perfect & relatable comedy but the director is the one who is responsible for bringing everything to life & Ehtashamuddin has done a commendable job. I am definitely looking forward to the next episode & it feels good to know that I wouldn’t have to wait much longer as it airs tonight again! Please share your thoughts about this episode of Mohabbat.pk.
Gems of this episode:
– ‘Waisay Amman to sari zindagi mujhse kehti rahin ke mere barabar mai kutta gaarh dena lekin is admi ko daffan nahi karna’, LOL!
– ’80 pe khelte hue nervous to ho rahay honge’, hahahah!!!
Eid is just around the corner ladies and the very first question that hits our mind while thinking about Eid is what to wear for the occasion. Eid dress is an important part of our celebrations and many of us will admit the fact that the most time we spend while preparing for Eid is on selecting and designing our outfit for the occasion. Increasing number of designer outlets and fashion awareness have made the job of dress selection easy for us. We can pick ones from the range of high class brands or can tailor the fashionable market designs in our own choice of budget.
Presently the fashion industry offers a wide range of designs and styles for ladies ranging from short length to mid length and long shirts. Trousers and lowers also cover a broad variety of styles from sleek cut to flappers and flares.
I was surfing the internet to look for an outfit for myself and I got mesmerized with the designer collections available in the market. After going through the search of different designer brands I have come to a point that there are variety of styles which are in fashion. We can choose a design which best suits our taste and liking. There is a vast range of both stitched and unstitched dresses in designer Eid collections. Styles made in the range of Pret Wear or Ready to wear are trendy and stylish. The readymade dresses are always convenient to shop and avoid last minute hassles of tailoring. However, if your tailor can spare some of their precious time to stich a dress for you then unstitched dress from a designer collections would not be a bad choice for you either.
Let’s now talk about some current fashion trends and collections of dresses which the designers are offering us this season.
Length of Shirts:
Knee length shirts are in fashion and compliment almost every type of body shape and height. However, straight shirts dropping few inches below the knees and short lengths with some flare are also in fashion.
Cuts and Style:
Shirts with straight cut are in fashion. However, you can add little flare by making them A-line or adding some pleats down the neckline or near the waist of your shirt. Snake cuts are also in fashion. However, limited designs in coat or jacket style uppers and some choices in short length Angarkhas, Ponchos and Capes are also available in market. Pret wear collections with all these styles are obtainable in stores of “Sana Safinaz”, “Maria B”and “Sania Maskatiya”.
Most of the shirts in Pret wear come with three quarter sleeves, that are either with straight cut or slightly bell shaped. Bottoms of sleeves are embellished with sequence or finished with tassels.
Prints and Color:
Since summer is in full swing, there is a wide range of colorful dresses in stores. Dresses with softer shades like powder pink, lavender, peach, cool mint, beige are available. Finest range of such cool and refreshing colors are available in famous designer, Farah Talib Aziz’s collection. On contrary, the outfits of “Nida Azwer” have some sharp and bright colors like orange, yellow, royal blue and many more. however, the fabric of her collection seems to be cooler and light. So, if you prefer to wear more colors for Eid then you can pick a bright colored dress from her collection yet remain cool while the sun is still shining.
Moreover, White has always been a perfect color for summer dresses. No color other than white looks cool and elegant on the traditional festival like Eid. Tunics with white as a base color mixed with some bright digital printing or colorful embroidery are also extant in most of the designer’s collections.
Patterns with flowery designs are also trending. One of our designers, Saniya Maskatiya has named her Eid collection as “Gardenia” which bears some refreshing floral designs.
In addition, abstract designs have barely come to my notice. Few of them were seen in Sana Safinaz’s ready to wear collection.
Fabric:
If you look for the formal Eid wear then you cannot resist the collection of dresses which the designers have made in chiffon, cotton net and silk. Designs are so elegant and unique that any of them can be selected for this Eid. “Elan”, “Zara Shahjahan” and “Laila Chatoor” are offering wonderful formal dresses in their collections.
However, if you can’t cope up with the formal wear in this scorching sun and want to go with some casual lawn or cotton attire, then that would be optimal too. Since cooler fabric is always a prime choice for summers, you can choose from a range of lawn collections of brands like “Firdous”, “Al-Karam”, “Junaid Jamshed” or any other of your choice.
Bottoms and Lowers:
Currently designers and fashion stores have got a huge variety of trousers with different types of stylish cuts and stitching. They cater the customer with diversified designs from simple and plain trousers to heavily embroidered ones. Embroidery with thread and sequence coupled with some fashionable glittery net lace is still alamode.
You can pair your shirt with either straight pants, capris tied to your calves or bell shaped bottoms. Shalwars are also in market. Trousers and shalwar can be best pick from the collections of “Khaadi” store. Summer wear cotton or lawn ghararas are also in vogue which can be worn with either straight or a little flary short length shirt. “Generation”, one of the famous boutiques in town have got a nice range of ghararas for summer-wear.
In short, we have a plethora of gorgeous options for Eid dress this year. It would be fun selecting one for ourselves.
Mehrunisa V lub U is all set to release this Eid ul fitar and the Cinemas are jam-packed with people and stars already. Yasir Nawaz is confident that the movie will be a super hit as it contains comedy and romance and all that is required for any movie to succeed. Danish Taimor invited everyone to watch the movie in Cinemas with the guarantee that no one will go disappointed.
Sana Javed, the gorgeous actress asked her fans to join her on Eid and enjoy the movie to the fullest. Talking to media in Rawalpindi , all the stars are confident about the fact that Mehrunisa V lub U will be a massive success.
Sania and Shoaib are back with a blast. The video posted by Sania earlier went viral on internet. What our bhabi is doing with her hubby is what a typical Pakistani woman does to her husband ( according to men obviously).
In the video, Sania seems to have a good laugh while Shoaib innocently asks her to stop and the adorable husband-wife moment goes viral over the internet. Here is the video for you all to have a look at.
Ohkay so, even though this episode of Yakeen Ka Safar came with a major plot twist, I found it a bit too slow for my liking. Yes, I do understand that not every single episode can promise a lot of drama or a fast pace but the fact that there was so much focus on Usman’s family function, it kind of made things a bit too boring for me. Anyways, I am glad that everything is done & now the future episodes will be eventful & relevant to the actual story. I wish in stead of focusing so much on Daniyal’s family, they had shown us a scene or two of Zubiya as well.
So, the major chunk of this episode was dedicated to Usman & his wife’s anniversary celebration which Asfand, Gaiti & Faryal were planning for. Yes, for a change it is good to see such a family on screen that shares casual conversations & has a great relationship but then again, these scenes look good when they last for a few seconds as they make things light-hearted but such scenarios can definitely not fill the entire episode to make it interesting. In the middle of this, what I liked was how Gaiti was constantly trying to read what was on her husband Daniyal’s mind. I wish Daniyal hadn’t kept things to himself & he had shared something with her before he fell into the pit that was set for him.
Finally, Daniyal got heed of Urooj & he felt suspicious therefore he decided to have a background check on her but then again, I found it a bit unconvincing since Daniyal himself knew he was handling such a complicated case & was fighting such a powerful man, he should’ve been mindful of these things beforehand. I liked the way Daniyal threw a curve-ball at Urooj to confirm the doubts that he had about her but then again, he couldn’t see what was coming. I think before hiring her, Daniyal should’ve inquired about her but then again, they had to show all this to add twists & turns into the story.
Urooj finally did what she was assigned for & she succeeded in trapping Daniyal effortlessly. I still find it a bit unconvincing that in the lobby of his office, there were no CCTV cameras, like considering they are in such a field where they have to deal with people from all walks of life, it is a bit too unrealistic that this detail was missing. If they had shown this to be from the 90’s era, I would’ve given them a benefit of the doubt but then seeing they are showing us this drama in 2017, this does seem to be a loophole.
So, Usman found out about everything & rushed to see Daniyal but in stead of telling him that everything was going to be alright, Usman continued to whine about how wrong Daniyal’s decision was. I think in stead of blaming Daniyal & telling him that he shouldn’t have taken Noori’s case, Usman should reflect on himself first as to what he did to keep his son safe from getting into trouble, that too when he himself directly received a threat from Rab Nawaz Shah.
Overall, this episode was a bit too slow but yes, the things that needed to be covered which actually mattered were executed decently. It was interesting how within a few seconds after receiving the call about Urooj, Daniyal understood that she was upto something, like he could sense some trouble there & Shaz Khan acted out that entire scene brilliantly. I liked Hira Mani’s acting in this episode as well, like she has been performing well but in this episode especially the concern on Gaiti’s face for her husband was showcased perfectly by her. I am actually looking forward to the next episode because looks like Zubiya will come back into the picture too & Daniyal will have to convince his unreasonable father that he is not guilty. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Yakeen Ka Safar.
Since Pakistan won in Champions Trophy by defeating India in the finals; Indians are trolling their team. Posters of players were burned and no-tolerance policy was adopted. In the end they somehow forgot there is a sport called cricket in this world and all that was left was hockey. But in all this mess an Indian lady Archana Mohan has written a very beautiful letter on facebook and this is probably the sanest reaction from India.
Many people appreciated her but at the same time she got a lot of backlash too. We wish a time may come when sport will be looked at as sports with fun, excitement and peace and not a matter of egos.
Zainab Abbas became the official crush of Pakistanis after PSL and the crush further increased with the second edition of PSL. Zainab is a sports presenter and we all love her. The latest selfie curse which people started relating to her as a joke also somehow proved to be a blessing as we won the Champions Trophy. But many people don’t know that Zainab is the daughter of none other than PTI leader Andleeb Abbas whom we see on many talk shows.
Here are some pictures of mother and daughter duo!
2017 has so far proved a dismal year with respect to local cinema. A total of five main stream Urdu films are released in this year all of which failed to do any considerable business. Thora Jee Le (January), Whistle (February), Balu Mahi (February), Raasta (March) and Chalay Thay Saath (April) are the five movies released this year where no Urdu film was released in the month of May. Due to the Holy Muslim month of Ramazan no film is scheduled throughout the major part of June as well.
Chalay Thay Saath the last released Urdu film of 2017 was released on 21st April 2017. So from 21st April 2017 to 26th June 2017 it has been a two month dry season for Urdu cinema.
The two major festive occasion in our country are the Eidul Fitr and Eidul Azha which spread over atleast three holidays. These long holidays provide ample time for family reunion and outing plans, which in result benefit the entertainment industry including cinema and theaters.
To cash on these holidays the major films of the year are scheduled for Eid. Eidul Fitr has traditionally been the occasion when the most successful film of the year was released. However from past one decade, Eidul Azha has won the priority of the Urdu film makers.
The major Urdu films which once were specific to Eidul Fitr are now released on Eidul Azha. The most significant reason is the direct competition with the Bollywood film. Every Eidul Fitr a major Khan (Salman or Shahrukh) starring Bollywood film is also released which eats up the majority of the shows and revenue of Eidul Fitr holidays.
On 2015’s Eidul Fitr, Bollywood’s Bajrangi Bhaijan (BB) emerged blockbuster. Due the enormous success of BB, many shows of the two Urdu films Bin Roye and Wrong No. also released on Eidul Fitr were shifted to BB. Though eventually Wrong No. and Bin Roye also proved successful but their business was impacted by BB.
On 2016’s Eidul Fitr, Bollywood’s Sultan made many new records of collections like most earning in a single day, most earning on a weekend. The film earned around 34 crore and became the highest earning Bollywood film in the Pakistan. Two Urdu films Swaal 700 Crore Dollar Ka (SSCDA) and Blind Love were also due to release on Eidul Fitr in 2016. But due to unavailability of shows Blind Love was not released and the only film SSCDA struggled against Bollywood’s Sultan.
Thus to avoid direct competition with the Eid release of Bollywood, major Urdu film makers are opting for Eidul Azha over Eidul Fitr. However this year few big budgeted Urdu films are releasing on Eidul Fitr. The performance of these Urdu films might determine the future of scheduling of Urdu films on Eidul Fitr. If successful the noted film makers might opt Eidul Fitr again over Eidul Azha.
Here is a summary of the films coming on Eidul Fitr 2017
Bollywood: Tubelight
Bollywood films have a proven solid market in Pakistan. The loyalty of Bollywood fans in Pakistan is unmatched that even the tense relationship of India and Pakistan hardly impact the business of Bollywood films in Pakistan. The only Bollywood Eid release of 2017 is Tubelight starring Salman Khan. Due to a history of the overwhelming response towards Khan starer Bollywood films, the premier show times at cinemas are allotted to these films. Like the Bollywood films released on Eid in previous years Tubelight is expected to outshine all the other films on this Eidul Fitr too.
Due to the pressure of local film makers Tubelight might will see a delayed release after few days of Eid to provide space for local films.
As per press reports Tubelight is based on the 1962 war fought between Indian and China. This war resulted in a humiliating defeat for India and as a result relationship among India and China are still not friendly.
Bollywood films enjoy widespread success at major and small urban centers, modern multiplexes and traditional single screen cinemas alike. The main business hub of Bollywood films is the provinces of Punjab, Sindh and the Islamabad Capital Territory.
Urdu Films
Urdu is the national language of Pakistan and Urdu cinema is gradually recovering after its extinction in the last decade. In 2016 only one Urdu films SSCDA was released on Eidul Fitr which failed to leave any impact. However situation looks promising as two big budgeted Urdu films are releasing on this Eidul Fitr. A third film Shor Sharaba was also announced on Eid but later pulled back.
The main business circuit of Urdu films is Sindh, Punjab and Islamabad Capital Territory. Urdu films have a limited appeal in the provinces of Balochistan and KPK
Yalghaar (یلغار)
The most prominent Urdu film of this Eidul Fitr is Yalghaar. This film was announced on December 2013 after the historical success of Urdu (multilingual) film Waar released in October 2013. Hassan Waqas Rana the producer of Waar, directed the Yalghaar apart from being the producer and writer.
Some big names of Urdu cinema Shaan, Humayun Saeed are appearing together for the very first time in a film. Further to this the film has a huge cast of new and experienced artists like Adnan Siddiqi, Sana Bucha, Aisha Umar, Bilal Ashraf, Armeena Rana Khan, Aleeze Nasr, Ayub Khoso.
Yalghaar is the debut film for Adnan Siddiqi, Sana Bucha, Aleeze Nasr, Naeem Haque and few other artists. Like Waar, Yalghaar is also an action film based on security operations. This film covers the Peochar operation of 2009 in the Swat Valley.
The film took almost three years to complete and thus have huge expectations associated with it. The film started by ARY Films a film distribution company but in 2015, Hum Films acquired its rights for distribution. Apart from Pakistan, Yalghaar is also releasing in the Middle East, Europe, North America, Africa (East & South) and Asia-Pacific region.
It will be interesting to see the head to head performance of Yalghaar vs Bollywood’s Tubelight. Yalghaar is produced in Islamabad.

Punjabi Films
Punjabi is the largest spoken language in Pakistan. For almost five decades Punjabi cinema has proved to be the backbone of our cinema and film industry. The success of Punjabi films also provided a space for Urdu cinema to flourish.
However after Urdu cinema, Punjabi film making has also been extinct till the end of last decade. Unlike Urdu cinema there has been no considerable effort to revive the Punjabi cinema. Every year very few Punjabi films of inferior quality are produced which hardly add any value towards the disfunct Punjabi cinema.
Two Punjabi films are expected to release on this Eid which are traditional gandasa films. The punjabi films will only release in the Punjab province.
Cast:Moammar Rana, Sobia Khan, Arbaz Khan, Sahar Malik, Jahangir Jani, Wali Bukhari, Rahila Agha, Anila Agha, Nisha Bhatti, Nasir Chinioti
Director:Maqsood Ahmed
Producer: Qaiser Piya
Pashto Films
Pashto is the second largest spoken language in Pakistan after Punjabi. Pashto cinema was the third most successful film circuit after Punjabi and Urdu films. Unlike Urdu and Punjabi cinema which faded a decade ago, Pashto cinema has survived well despite dismal situation of law and order in its circuit. Pashto cinema seldom gets the attention of the mainstream media, still Pashto films have successfully retained their viewership.
Pashto cinema has its own dedicated circuit in the province of KPK, Balochistan (Quetta) and Sindh (Karachi only) where native Pashto speaker live in large numbers. Apart from Pakistan, Pashto films are also released in UAE (Dubai/Sharjah) and Afghanistan (Kabul).
The leading artists of the Pashto cinema are Shahid Khan, Jahangir Jani, Arbaaz Khan and Ajab Gull. Total five Pashto films are expected to release on this Eidul Fitr.

We all are well acquainted with the 2014 comedy Na Maloom Afraad. The first installment was set in our very own Karachi and now Na Maloom Afraad 2 goes international as the movie is set in Cape Town. The film also stars Hania Amir along with the original cast Fahad Mustafa, Javed Sheikh, Mohsin Abbas Haider and Urwa Hocane. Have a look at the trailer:
Will Na Maloom Afraad 2 be able to get the popularity and success its first part got? We will have to wait to see. Till then watch the trailer and enjoy!
In the words of Richard Puz, “Death leaves a heartache no one can heal and leaves a memory no one can steal”. Leaving us conscious of our own mortality and how fleeting time is, death is always unpleasant. And that death is made even more unbearable when when we don’t even get a chance to say goodbye to the ones we love. These Pakistani celebrities, some at the height of their careers and some just maturing into the business but all with great potential, had their lives abruptly ended by the hands of fate.
1. Waheed Murad
Pakistani heartthrob and golden boy of the 60’s, Waheed Murad was the face of Pakistan’s golden age of cinema. Often referred to as the “Chocolate boy”, Waheed took the subcontinent by storm and was admired by all because of his charm and unusual talent. Born in Sialkot, Punjab, he graduated from S.M. Arts College Karachi and received his masters in English Literature from the University of Karachi. He made his first appearance in film in 1959, at the age of 21, and went on to feature in 125 films and earned 32 film awards. However by the late 1970s, it was being reported that Waheed was depressed and had become addicted to alcohol, oral tobacco and sleeping pills. His wife left him and he developed various stomach problems, at one instant having to remove a part of his stomach to avoid bleeding to death. He lost a lot of weight and his acting performances after that were also criticized as being weak. The day before he died he was in Karachi for a facial scar removal surgery and the day before had celebrated his son’s birthday. He was found dead in his room, with a paan leaf in his mouth and it is still unclear if his death was a heart attack or suicide. In his final interview, Waheed had said that he would like to be remembered by the song ‘bhooli hoi hoon dastaan, guzra hua khayaal hoon- Jisko na tum samaj sakay mein aisa aik sawaal hoon‘.
In November 2010, he was awarded Sitara-e-Imtiaz by Asif Ali Zardari for his work in the arts.
Here’s one of my favorite performances of him for your reminiscing!

2. Nazia Hassan
Nazia Hassan was the first Pakistani singer to have a hit in the British Charts and sold over 65 million records worldwide, winning the hearts of everyone in the Subcontinent. Nazia had started her music career when she was only ten and had a successful career in it spanning over 25 years. She was also a philanthropist and used many of her royalties from music to help various charities and used her fame to promote social causes. Her song ‘Camera Camera’ was part of a campaign against drugs. She also founded her own organization BAN (Battle Against Narcotics).
The Queen of Pop of the subcontinent, fought a long battle with lung cancer and died at the age of 35 having got done with a divorce from her husband Mirza Ishtiaq Baig just ten days before. After her death, her brother Zoheb Hassan revealed to The Express Tribune that she had died an unhappy person and had died in pain.
It’s heart wrenching to know someone who gave us a song so positive and full of love was fighting a battle within herself.
3. Marvi
Belonging from a Sindhi background, Marvi stunned audiences and critics alike with her gorgeous looks and immense acting talent. In a short span of time she established quite a name for herself in Lollywood. Before her death she had been cast to play the lead next to Faisal Qureshi and the movie Marvi was released soon after her death. The ethereal beauty was shot by a jealous lover near a traffic signal on Tariq Road, Karachi. Her body had remained in the car she was driving until the authorities arrived. No arrests were made in connection to her murder and to this day her killer is still unknown.
4. Niggo
Niggo was the mujra girl of choice for many directors and producers in the 70’s. The present day equivalent of an item girl, Niggo was beautiful and watching her dance was an experience out of this world. During the shooting of her movie Qasu, she fell in love with the producer Khwaja Mazhar and the couple were soon married against the wishes of her family. Niggo’s mother had to fake being terminally ill to convince her daughter to come home where they ambushed her with pleas to leave Khwaja and brainwashed her to believe this was the right decision. Khwaja, confused by this turn of events, sent a mutual friend to convince his wife to return but to no avail. Disgruntled with the situation, Khwaja went down to her home himself and shot her with his Sten Gun. She died on the spot, Pakistan lost an emerging talent and Khwaja was sentenced to life imprisonment. He lived a full life dying of natural causes.
5. Sultan Rahi
The legendary Maula Jatt star had worked in over 700 movies and won 160 awards. Known for his immense devotion to his work and an icon for Punjabi culture, Rahi was a popular choice among directors and producers. He had a pleasant temperament even in less than ideal situations and despite his immense success was still very down to Earth. The actor had built a mosque in Bari studios and was known to have financed a film for junior artists.
The actor was returning from Islamabad Club when his car broke down in a dark, deserted area of Main G.T. Road near Gujranwala. A group of men took advantage of his situation and opened fire on him. Rahi was rushed to the DHQ Hospital in Gujranwala but it was too late. Another star was sent back to the sky.
Teefa in Trouble is an eagerly anticipated romantic comedy which has many fresh faces attributed to it. After going on floors recently, we got to know more about the Ahsan Rahim’s directorial dubut. Coincidentally, It is also Ali Zafar’s and Maya Ali’s debut movie.
The latest advancement on the set is that veteran actor Javed Sheikh has joined the cast and is playing the role of Maya Ali’s father.
Talking about his role, Javed Sheikh told the media that he is the female lead’s father and Ali Zafar is playing the role of his friend’s son. They were all close to eachother in “androon shehr” but now they have moved to Poland and hence the adventures begin as love navigates its way through cultural differences.
Well, the movie is certainly getting more and more interesting..

Nargis Fakhri will now be making her singing debut with a single titled as Habitaan Vigaad Di (catchy title!) in association with the singer-composer Parichay, who apparently was ‘blown away’ after hearing her voice.
Written by Kumaar, the Indo-Canadian single will also feature rapper Kardinal Offishall.
According to Parichay:
“When we first got in the studio to record vocals, I was blown away by her dedication to get her vocals and pronunciation perfect, regardless of how many takes it took. She was the right fit for this song and video along with Kardinal and I hope people like what we’ve put together,”
The composer was further in praise of the celebrated beauty by stating that as much as she might be hot and fly she is extremely down-to-earth and humble too. Also, their working relationship was helped by the fact that both of them came from East Coast states (Nargis from NY and Parichay being from Toronto).
He’s reportedly working on a record where the Rockstar heroine will sing a lot more and he’s pumped about it.
Nargis was last seen on the silver screen alongside Riteish Deshmukh in Banjo in 2016.
What are your thoughts on the actress? Are you excited to hear her sing? Let us know with your comments!
Project Ghazi is a much anticipated movie, since it is bringing forth a lot that is new and unusual for Pakistani films. This super hero movie boasts thematic backdrops, scientific thrill and military combat all in one.
The launch ceremony of its very well received trailer was held at the grand Merriot hotel, Karachi. It was a star studdied event with all three leads of the movie; Humyaun Saeed, Shehryar Munawwar and Syra Shehroz present to talk to the press, along with their producer and director.
Syra was beautiful in a minimalist black off the shoulder jump suit, loose hair and nude makeup. Talking excitedly about her movie, she said that she is playing the role of a female scientist, which is an uncommon character and that she is a very methodical, independent and no nonsense character in the film.
Shehryar Munawwar was the first actor on board when Project Ghazi started. He said that he really liked the script because the movie projects nationalism without spreading any of the hate or negativity that usually surrounds such concepts.
Humayun Saeed said he accepts a project when it gives him good vibes and project Ghazi certainly did so. He praised Shehryar Munawwar who has worked very hard in the movie and trained physically to appear the part that he is playing.
The producer Ali Reza, was very proud of his movie, “I am honoured to have worked with a team of extremely talented individuals who have given their all in the movie.”
Nadir H. Shah, the director also sounded very hopeful about Project Ghazi, “It’s a unique genre for Pakistan and could open doors to new and unexplored stories to reach audiences.”
