India is fan-favourite for this match as according to the past statistics, she has won a greater number of matches than Pakistan in a Pak vs. India match. However, we should keep in mind that our Pakistani team is known to be ‘unpredictable’ and can easily upset a match
The start of the current T20 champions was very positive as the women in green had won their very first match of the tournament against West Indies in a warm-up game. However, back-to-back defeats by South Africa and England have now left Pakistan in must-win territory and this puts pressure on them to win against India.
Women in green have also suffered a set-back with the experienced batting all-rounder Bismah Maroof being ruled out of the tournament because of an injured hand.
Their rivals, on the other hand, are in a very strong position with a high confidence level too. India has so far won both her matches, also managing to beat England who had scored a grand total of 377 against Pakistan.
Therefore, unlike the men’s teams of the two countries, the women’s teams are unevenly matched. But that has little to do with how the players perform on the field on that given day.
It is to be noted that India had already played 45 games when Pakistan played her first. It’s true that both the teams were formed around the same time but there is a huge difference in the level of experience between both sides.
We all pray that our team to be successful against India but we need to keep in mind that we are facing against a very experienced and successful side.

We Pakistanis are especially looking forward to it, due to Sajal Ali and Adnan Siddiqui’s roles in it.
A few days back, Mom’s audio song Freaking Life has been released. It sounds rap and very upbeat. Serves great in agitating your nerves and maybe that is the purpose since the movie is going to be fast paced thriller.
Shafaat Ali has made a name for himself through his hilariously accurate parodies. He became especially popular with his Imran Khan and Bilawal Bhutto initiation. This Ramzan, we saw him hosting Dil Dil Ramzan, alongwith Bushra Ansari and Noman Ejaz and his energy and enthusiasm gained him quite a lot of appreciation. Talking to an online magazine HIP, he discussed in detail about his experiences and aspirations.
Q.How was your experience working alongside a comic-legend, Bushra Ansari on your very own Ramadan transmission? How do you think you’ve evolved with this project?
Syed Shafaat Ali ; I didn’t expect myself to be capable of handling the entire transmission but working alongside Bushra Ansari, Noman Ijaz and many there, it’s just been amazing. I think I’ll be able to do better transmissions now and catch more audiences.
Working in a Ramadan transmission is really tough because it’s religious and has to be a little comic as well, so finding a fine line in between them both is tough.
Q. You’ve been multi-tasking for the past few months on television, you’re making your film debut and much more, how are you manage it all? How does your wife respond to your busy schedule?
Syed Shafaat Ali; I’m travelling with my family and pretty thankful to my supportive wife for cooperating with me because that’s the only way you can take out time for them right now. Family comes first and she was here [in Karachi] with me during the Ramadan transmission as well.
Q. You plan on making your film debut with Parwaaz Hay Junoon, tell us a bit about your decision on why you chose this role, how were you approached and how has the experience been?
Syed Shafaat Ali; I actually had a cameo in Na Maloom Afraad, which was one or one and a half second-long, but I signed Parwaaz Hay Junoon first but it got delayed. Initially I thought I could present a different side of mine with this film and I thought films aren’t able to make much of an impact, but Parwaz Hai Junoon will definitely make a difference.
Q. We’ve all seen your talents in mimicry and acting from videos online, tell us a bit about all the other things you plan on doing and do you think your newfound fame is all credited to your gigantic social media presence?
Syed Shafaat Ali; I don’t think social media is something which requires recommendation; it is based on raw talent and public votes. It’s all about the entertainment and ‘x-factor’ that you have. Of course my fans have a huge part to play and I feel like if you want to make it big, YouTube is now the global PTV. So get yourself registered there and showcase what you have.
Q. We hear you’re also considering a television serial. What other avenues do you wish to explore?
Syed Shafaat Ali; Basically my niche is political comedy [satire] and it has always had a tough, limited audience, I want to work with that on a larger scale. I have been working on something big and Inshallah, I will be introducing it to the Pakistani audience in September.
Q. You want to take stand-up comedy from Pakistan internationally and make it recognized globally. How has that journey been for you so far and what’s next for you?
Syed Shafaat Ali; I actually want that and I recently did a European tour with an amazing audience there; Pakistani stand-up comedy is widely appreciated over there. I did stand-up sessions in Malaysia as well and all over Pakistan too.
The only reason we are not as recognized as other comedians is because we don’t have much knowledge on handling YouTube and if one wants to make it big, sign up there, get registered, learn and claim the stage.
One of the most anticipated movies of this year ‘Punjab Nahi Jaongi’ is scheduled to release this year on Eid-ul-Azha. The movie has got two renowned artists of our industry in lead roles named, Humayun Saeed and Mehwish Hayat. The movie is written by Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar, directed by Nadeem Baig and produced under the banner of ARY Films and Six Sigma Plus.

Indian singer Harshdeep Kaur will be collaborating with Pakistan’s trailblazing Sufi singer Sanam Marvi for the first time for the sixth edition of the Manchester International Festival 2017.
An event named ‘Sangam 2017’ is scheduled for the evening of 6th July with Marvi from Pakistan and Kaur from India performing together.
“I’m very excited to perform at the prestigious Manchester International Festival. It’s a proud feeling to be the first Indian artiste performing at the MIF. I aim to spread the message of love and peace through my music,” Kaur said.
“I believe music is beyond any religion, caste, colour and has the power to connect people belonging to different faiths. My set will include Sufi songs with a blend of modern yet soulful arrangements. Sanam Marvi from Pakistan will be joining me on stage and we both will be doing a jugalbandi on some popular Sufi songs,” she further said.
Marvi added, “It’s about connecting people beyond all borders and boundaries. It’s a message for all human beings to share.”
The festival began on Thursday and will continue through July 16.

Fawad Khan has pretty much become an icon of our Entertainment Industry and the heartthrob of not only Pakistan but India too. Girls go gaga and drool over this handsome hunk of Lollywood and Bollywood, but Fawad Khan is more than just looks; he is a very hard-working actor who is very supportive of his fellow actors as well as the Pakistan film Industry. Recently, Fawad was spotted at Super Cinemas in Lahore and he recorded a video message for his fans.
In the video he tells us that he was at the cinema to watch ‘Yalghar’ and encourages his fans to watch all the Pakistani films released this Eid. He also mentions Saba Qamar and her performance for Hindi Medium. He praises her acting in these words,

Sana Javed has been the talk of the town due to her looks in the promotional events of Mehrunnisa V Lub U. She was always criticised in her dramas because of looking just the same in each and every one of them. The same shalwar kameez and long straight hair parted on the side and worn loose.
That all changed when we saw her looks and style as she went about promoting Mehrunnisa V Lub U. She has shown such versatility and such intelligence of styling that you can’t help being impressed by the change. Despite the fact that she did not have much to contribute to the story of the movie, she was the face of its promotions, dazzling in each and every attire;
The woman behind all this is Ania Fawad. She has created true magic with Sana Javed, and a new spell every time she was anticipated to appear for an event. Ania herself is a style icon and appears very creatively dressed for every occasion.
There were some reservations which she explained, mentioning that Sana Javed always had one particular image, so it was not without risk to change her outlook. Secondly, because of the month of Ramadan, she did not want to dress up the actress in a lot of western or revealing outfits. Also, because of the weather in Pakistan, she opted for a lot of whites and pastels.
Ania mentioned that she loves playing around with colours and forming hues and does her homework before completing a certain . She had also taken inspiration from some style bloggers and touched up the looks. All in all, it will not be wrong to say that she has done a fabulous job and Sana stole many hearts this time.

Watching a good telefilm which makes you laugh and has characters which you connect to instantly is the best treat on a weekend. I always tune into telefilms when I want to unwind because a well-written and skillfully executed telefilm can prove to be very refreshing and unlike a serial you don’t have to wait for weeks to see how it ends.Pyar Ki Love Story is one such telefilm which aired as an Eid Special and it proved to be the perfect entertainment for the occasion. Pyar Ki Love Story as a whole is just as interesting as its title!
Although the title of the telefilm suggests that the story would essentially be a love story but it is actually much more than that! It is filled with witty jokes which will make you laugh, situations which definitely have a novelty to them and you will get to see some of your favorite actors in roles very different from the ones they have played recently in a few dramas. Watching Saba Hameed and Asif Raza Mir in particular in a comedy play came as a breath of fresh air especially after watching Muqabil. They are exceptionally versatile and brilliant performers who also have great on screen chemistry. Both of them exploited the potential their on-screen characters had to the maximum right from the get-go. Although, we have watched many plays with jokes targeting dysfunctional marriages but Faiza Iftikhar’s take on the topic is definitely one which you cannot miss!
Pyar Ki Love Story is the story of Saman (Urwa Hocane) and Haadi (Farhan Saeed) who are in love with each other and they want to get married. Haadi comes from a broken family and was raised by his uncle (Usman Peerzada) who has a certain condition for getting Haadi married. Saman’s parents Talib (Asif Raza Mir) and Amina (Saba Hameed) cannot stand each other and their track was the highlight of this telefilm. Parveen (Iffat Omer) comes into the picture in the later half of the play and few of her dialogues were the most hilarious ones. The joke about Saba Hameed playing Humayun Saeed’s mother in in Dil Lagi had to be the best one!
A comedy play can never be a success unless it is executed well. Even a good script can fall flat if the director and the actors are not able to create the kind of magic on screen needed to keep the viewers interested in the characters and their stories. Faiza Iftikhar and Nadeem Baig make the perfect team, they always manage to bring out the best in their projects. The casting of the play is also another reason why this one is a must watch. Urwa Hocane and Farhan Saeed clearly had fun shooting this one, something which shows while you are watching the telefilm. Usman Peerzada’s outlook and character both are just as comic as the rest of the characters in the show. It isn’t very often that we see him doing comic roles. Iffat Omer is another actress who hardly ever does comic roles but is hilarious as Parveen.
This telefilm isn’t mindless comedy but it says a great deal about the realities and the ups and downs of marital life. You find yourself thinking, feeling and laughing at the same time! The plot of the telefilm is brand new, it is fun and comical and I highly recommend it to especially those viewers who would like to see all these wonderful actors in few of the most interesting comic roles. The person responsible for the make-up also did a really good job. I especially liked Usman Peerzada and Saba Hameed’s makeovers.

July the seventh month of the year 2017 has started. It is the month in which rainy season Barsaat or Savan starts in Pakistan after a soaring summer season. No public holiday falls in this month, but due to summer vacations in educational institutions traditionally the number of film releases is on the high side if compared to the other non public holidays months of the year.
This July, release of three Urdu films is announced which is a healthy figure with respect to local cinema. All three Urdu films of July 2017 are of different genre and thus provides ample variety to the cine goers to choose one as per their taste.

Project Ghazi (پراجیکٹ غازی) Project Ghazi is advertised as the first super hero film of Pakistan and is under production for past one year. The producers of the films have been successful in generating a lot of hype about their project. Produced in Karachi, it will be interesting to see whether the film lives up to the expectations it has raised.
The teaser of the film was released in May 2017, which received mixed response. The trailer of the film is launched on 19th June 2017 which again received mixed response. The fight sequences, sound mixing and CGI effects in the trailer were criticized for not being up to the mark. Still the film is applauded for being the first of its kind in Pakistani cinema.
Project Ghazi stars Humayun Saeed, Sheharyar Munawar Siddiqi, Syra Shehroz, Talat Hussain and Adnan Jaffar in pivotal roles. Sheharyar Munawar Siddiqi last worked in Ho Mann Jahan, released in January 2016 and Project Ghazi is his second film after a gap of one and a half years. The director and the production team of Project Ghazi are relatively new names.

Shor Sharaba (شورشرابا) Shor Sharaba (شورشرابا) is the second film releasing this month. It was due to release on Eidul Fitr but then postponed to avoid clash with the other Eid releases. Shor Sharaba is produced in Lahore, by Sohail Khan a film producer from Lahore. Sohail Khan has also co-prouced few films in Bollywood like Jannat in 2008 in collaboration with Mahesh Bhatt. Perhaps the collaboration with the Indian film industry prompted Sohail Khan to produce a film in Pakistan with the assistance of Indian film workers.
Shor Sharaba was announced some two years ago, but the shooting of the film is delayed due the visa issues with its Indian director Hasnain Hyderabadwala and choreographer Shaheena Khan.
After formally getting the visa and work permits, Hasnain Hyderabadwala shot this film in Lahore in 2016. Though the cast of the film is Pakistani, but perhaps it is the first Pakistani film directed by an Indian director.
Also dubbed as a romantic comedy it is a complete commercial masala flick featuring an item song too.
Shor Sharaba is the first Urdu film of Adnan Khan, who made his debut from Punjabi film Mohabbatan Sachiyan way back in 2007. Rabi Peerzada is making film debut as heroine from Shor Sharaba. Rabi Peerzada is also active in showbiz for more than a decade in acting, hosting as well as singing.
The scandal queen of our film industry Meera is also appearing in an item song and extended cameo. However the footage of item song of Meera went missing during the editing phase of the film. So it is not clear yet whether the song will be reshot or not.
The trailer of Shor Sharaba is released in May 2017 and it was quite disappointing. Film makers from Lahore’s defunct film industry are known for producing pulp films, but there was better expectation from Shor Sharaba due to the presence of an Indian film director. Lets hope the film is better than the trailer.

Chain Aaye Naa (چین آۓ نا) Chain Aaye Naa (CAN) is a musical romantic film releasing on 21st July 2017. The major highlight of Chain Aaye Naa is its director and producer Syed Noor, one of the last renown names of now defunct film industry of Lahore. Syed Noor has a lots of successful films to his credit in the 1990s like Jeeva, Sargam, Ghoonghat, Sangam, Choorian, Daku Rani, Deewane Tere Pyar Ke. His last Urdu film Jhoomar was released in 2007 so Syed Noor is returning to Urdu cinema after a gap of one decade. Though he was active in Punjabi films during the last decade where Shareeka in 2012 was his last Punjabi film.
CAN marks the comeback of Syed Noor to the Urdu cinema. It is the debut film of Sehrish Khan an artist of Pakistani origin from USA. Sehrish Khan is the grand daughter of Sabiha Khanum and Santosh Kumar two legendary names of our cinema. CAN is shot in Karachi and Lahore.
Shehroz Sabzwari is appearing as the male lead opposite Sehrish Khan. CAN is also the debut film of Shehroz Sabzwari, though he has worked as a childstar in Khulay Aasman Ke Neeche in 2007. Shehroz is the son of famous artist Behroz Sabzwari and nephew of Javed Sheikh a seasoned name of Pakistani cinema.
Adil Murad the son of Waheed Murad is also making a comeback to the big screen after two decades from this film. His last and only film to date Raja Saab was released in 1995.
Atiqa Odho and Nadeem Baig are working as a pair after a gap of almost two decades their last film Mummy was released in 1997.
Saima Noor an essential ingredient in the films of Syed Noor is surprisingly missing in this film. The trailer of the film was released on 22nd June 2017 which looks dull and tasteless in every aspect. On the whole the trailer of CAN has greatly disappointed anyone waiting for a strong comeback from Syed Noor.
As evident from the trailer the film follows the pattern of an 1980s film with over emotional sequences, bad acting, lack of direction, sub par camerawork and unimpressive editing. The only strong aspect could have been its music as the main protagonist of the film is a musician, but alas its music also looks outdated as many songs released in 1990s are reused in this film.
The first trailer was four and a half minutes long and received heavy criticism on the social media. Later a shorter two and a half minutes trailer is released both the trailers are posted here. The shorter trailer is much better, but it cannot mend the damage the first trailer has done.

In the midst of this all, Mahira Khan is now off to Beirut to attend one of the most prestigious ceremonies of the Middle East, called the Beirut International Awards Festival as a representative of the Lollywood film industry.
The Beirut International Awards Function or BIAF as generally called, will air on July 9, 2017 where it will be aired live in 7 countries. It is attended exclusively by dignitaries from every field including art, finance, film, drama and humanitarian causes around the globe.
Chain Aaye Na is Shahroze Sabzwari’s debut movie. The trailer crashed all the expectations surrounding the film as it includes no plot base and a lot of ketchup as depicted by the trailer. Shahroze inspite of getting a lot of backlash is still confident about the movie. He was recently interviewed by HIP and here is what he had to say. When asked why he took up Chain Aaye Na when he turned down movies like Lahore se Aagey and Chupan Chupai, he said: “I was going through a lot of scripts when Chain Aye Na came to me. It managed to intrigue me and I loved it, Syed Noor is a filmmaker I’ve been a fan of my entire life, I couldn’t say no to him, I had to take it up.”
To the disastrous trailer he said:“I know it’s been disappointing for a lot of people, but you see Pakistani trailers work, films don’t. So I’m very confident about Chain Aye Na because I’ve seen the results.”
Shahroze thinks he got good reviews about himself:“Whatever reviews I’ve received about myself, thankfully, people have received that really well, a lot of people have called me, telling me rage I look good, so that way I know that Syed Noor has been successful in making me look the part. Hence, I’m excited and relaxed.”
Speaking about lack of chemistry between the lead pair Shahroze said: “Maybe that’s the way the story is. That’s the kind of chemistry that the plot requires, we are only talking on trailer’s terms. You’ll know better once the film comes out.”
Shahroze is very confident:“I have complete faith in God and Syed Noor. I’ve seen the film during dubbing, people couldn’t understand the trailer, but that doesn’t mean they won’t understand the film.”
He is not bothered by social media and took a dig on Balu Mahi too: “Social media doesn’t bother me, I look at the bigger picture. In a population of over 20 Crore people, I honestly don’t care about that one fraction of people who are on Facebook. If Facebook was the decider of a film’s fate, Balu Mahi would’ve been the biggest hit of the year.”
The film will release on 21st July. Only then it will become clear what Chain Aaye Na actually is.
The very handsome Aijaz Aslam has managed to dazzle the audience for more than a decade. He has come a huge way in terms of acting improvement but even when he was a newbie, his looks and voice were enough to make him very well liked. He is one of those veterans who have seen it all, from only appearing in the 8 pm drama to now being the guest of morning shows, multiple dramas as well as gracing websites and magazines with his news and interviews. Despite having hundreds of male actors, a 100 episode drama with Aijaz Aslam still manages to interest people, but sadly he is going to be on the other side of camera this time.
His production house has just wrapped up the shooting of Sohani Ki Kahani, which will air on Geo Kahani from the 3rd of July.
Just two days to go until the first episode, we managed to get some inside scoop into it. The lead characters are played by Asad Zaman and Junaid Akhtar as the male leads along with Madiha Zaidi as the female lead named Sohani. The rest of the cast includes Shahzad Raza, Humera Zahid and Bina Choudhry amongst others.
The story is about a middle class, middle aged couple where the wife has dedicated her whole life to the service of her husband and inlaws. When it comes to her daughter, Sohani, she has high aspirations and she wants her to have a life she never did. Sohani herself is a very charming girl with a very positive approach to life.
When Sohani and Zaryab, the leads, fall in love which is followed by marriage, the story takes a lot of twists and turns in which you get to know whether Sohani lives up to her mother ‘s expevtations or not.
Let’s see how this soap fares under Aijaz Aslam’s production, Mohammad Faiz’s scripting and Ali Imran’s direction.

She was last seen on television in a drama serial ‘Besharam’, premiered on ARY digital in May 2016. She then took some time off from television and routed herself towards the big screen. She also got nominated in the category of “Best Actress” in “Lux style awards” for her performance. She was later seen in a Pakistani movie ‘8969’.

Baaghi’s producers are dropping teasers and promos of the drama continuously. Baaghi is based on social media starlet Qandeel Bloch’s life and showcases Saba Qamar as Qandeel Baloch. As many people know Qandeel also appeared on reality show Desi Kuriyan in her life. She appeared on the show as a singer. Everyone who is watching this drama on regular basis must be very well acquainted with the fact that the characters in Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hai love playing mind games which are impossible to relate to! Waqar’s confession in tonight’s episode was yet another attempt by one of the saner characters in this play to exploit the situation in his favor. At the end of the day when you look at the reason behind all these complicated mind games, you can’t help but wonder if it is really worth it! Ami begum was playing games with Waqar before because she wanted him to stay away from Maheen and now Waqar who clearly was interested in Maheen is claiming that he did all this so that Maheen would accept Gulrez’s proposal and he could be the “chief” of the gang! Watching Waqar act so normal in the opening scene after creating such a big scene at Ami begum’s house was mind boggling! Later on, Ami begum also decided to forgive and forget everything and for the first time the viewers saw Ami begum and Waqar bonding like they should have bonded right from the beginning.
Some of the dialogues in tonight’s episode were intense and right on point but just like every other episode situations and dialogues were way too complicated given the situation. Why would someone like Gulrez who does not want to force Maheen to get married to him, settle for such a decision? Also, the fact that Maheen and Gulrez did not have a single decent interaction one-to-one since the proposal makes the whole situation even more strange. Gulrez never had the courage to talk to Maheen but Maheen could have surely talked to him about what was going on in her mind. Also, even after making the decision to marry him even if it was to make a point only, she did not directly go to Gulrez to tell her about her decision. Maheen is still confused and watching 10 episodes of this confusion hasn’t actually been a joyride!
All of a sudden Jia has stopped interacting with Waqar altogether and she never confronted him either. Jia’s father is finally going to reveal the secret, which I am sure won’t be anything exciting either. It seems like he left her mother because she was cheating on her! This drama needed a more decent side track to make it bearable but Jia’s track definitely does not fit the bill.
Fajr has to be my favorite character in the show, she is the one who can see what games everyone is playing and speaks her mind without getting rude. Even after so many episodes the story hasn’t moved forward considerably, everyone has been waiting for Maheen’s reply for the longest time now and no one (watching the drama) is even rooting for the couple! The drama is over crowded with characters who like to talk a lot and most often the conversations revolve around similar topics. If the writer and the director added more scenes in which we saw a “human” side of these characters like the one in tonight’s episode in which Ami begum and Waqar bonded, would have helped the viewers connect to these characters. Also, Munshi Alam should have been given more screen time since the drama opened with him and it looked like he was very close to the family. The thappars got plenty of screen time in tonight’s episode as well! Plenty of characters talked about it like it was headline news but Waqar (who is supposedly the ultimate ladla) took them really well! Watching a new episode of Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hai is like watching the same thing over and over again!
