Ayesha Omar Says She Cried When She Saw The Stage For “Tutti Frutti”

Ayesha Omar has always been known as someone who is confident and daring. Her item number “Tutti Frutti” in the film “Karachi se Lahore” was appreciated and criticized at the same time. There are some viewers who think that it is okay for Pakistani films to have these item numbers but there are many others who feel that we are following in the footsteps of India and we should not add these item numbers to the films.

2

Ayesha Omar has never talked about how it was for her to do this item number because she has never done anything like this. In Nadia Khan Show Ayesha Omar shared details which will surprise people. She said,

“I have performed a lot on stage since childhood so I always had a lot of stage confidence. Director Wajahat, who is like a friend told me that there will be a song in the film but we have not yet decided whether there will be a group performance or something different. Finally when the idea evolved into an actual decision, it was decided that I will be performing alone with all these people surrounding me. I told Wajahat I could not do it. He said of course I could and asked me to relax. It was easier said than done.”

3

Talking about it further Ayesha said that she fractured her toe two days before the shoot which made things more complicated. She said,

“I wanted the shoot to be delayed but because all the arrangements had already been made, it could not be delayed. When I got to the set on the day of the shoot and saw the stage and the people there, I forgot all about the pain in my toe and was scared to do this in front of all these people. I thought I can’t do this. I literally had tears in my eyes. I said to the director, I will only do it if your wife does it first and he said of course she can do it!”

The director gave Ayesha Omar the confidence to get on the stage and go on with the performance but only after she befriended the people who were going to be there while she was performing. Talking about the crowd she said,

“I saw all these weird faces staring at me. The dancers who were with me are used to it of course so they were not going to find it odd. But the other people who were around, some of them were hired and some of them were just random people who had come to watch. I decided to talk to this crowd and said I was doing this for the first time so I wanted them to cooperate with me.”

Ayesha Omar said that she does not let what people in the social media say about her effect her for a long period of time because people say whatever they want to but it is not necessary that you should take it to heart.

Tumhare Siwa – Episode 15!

I know it will come as a shock to everyone but I want to thank the team of Tumhare Siwa for coming up with such a perfect sit-com on Friday nights. I actually found myself laughing out loud during so many scenes because like my dear readers know, I love finding humor in the most terrible situations, so Tumhare Siwa is doing just exactly the same thing for me these days!!!

Oh well, can I start off by asking where was Rania’s family when she was planning this madventure for her husband Aazar? A family that was no where to be seen or heard in the first 13 episodes (which pretty much makes the first half of the drama) has taken a birth in a jiffy & are now showing concern like they were never out of the picture? Honestly speaking, if they were keen on showing someone as Rania’s well-wisher they should’ve hired someone older to her & in fact a sister would’ve been better because the way her brother was showing concern in such a zanana way, let’s be honest guys, no brothers talk like that. Also, I am not too sure why did they pick Mustafa Changezi to play the role of Rania’s saviour because a boy who should be memorizing nursery rhymes at such a tender age doesn’t look appropriate using such heavy words like ‘lawaaris’ etc. He is a total misfit in this drama but then again, everything about this drama is a complete miss so chalo aik aur bachkana miss hi sahi!!!

Honestly speaking, I have never heard Tania talk about anyone else, like literally anyone else except Rania & Samra. She surely has some mental disorder where she is in capable of looking at others & talking about them. Now she has directed the arrows of her concerns at Samra because she happens to be her Bhabhi # 2 after all, so itna to banta hai. All thanks to Tania that her uncle-numa husband has gotten this ‘umanng’ to get Samra by hook or by crook. I know it was awful seeing a man like Baber hitting on Samra but frankly speaking, that was the time when I laughed the most. If they really wanted to show someone who would be interested in Samra at this stage, they should’ve hired someone else because to see Tahir Jatoi doing all that was a little hmmm not a little but totally & completely awkward! Anyways, Samra not only allowed him in the house but made karak chai for him, which later resulted in another conversation between the two where the topic of discussion was Baber’s sir ka dard (which was a news for me because all this while I thought he never had a head actually) & the karak chai that helped ease his headache. Samra ke karnamon mai aik aur karnama add ho gaya, where she has now survived a flirting that Baber directed at her. She is strong I must say. One thing that’s totally bizarre is that the girl who has gone through so much is so gullible that she is incapable of reading between the lines!?!?! Why do they have to show women so weak & brainless that they can’t understand or read what the other person’s intentions are? It is ridiculous!!!

Accha, once again, I so don’t want to belittle the deceased but before leaving the show, was he even unable to get a decent car for Samra? Chalo I do understand that despite being a pilot he didn’t have a bank balance to bear the medical expenditures of Samra & he didn’t have a house of his own, but really, a pilot didn’t have a decent car…hmmm, I so am not buying that. Also, why does Samra become such a gugu when she experiences such small mishaps? Her car didn’t start & she called Aazar asking mai kya karoon? Behan please Taxi pakrain aur bachi ko lene chali jayein, shukriya! This whole dependency that Samra’s displaying is so outdated & yawn-provoking!!!

Anyways, the thing I hate the most happened in this episode too where Neni (or rather Naani, because there’s nothing child-like about her) inquired about a thing called divorce? If they really want to add these little packets, why can’t they use them with their innocence? Why do these writers always have to rely on these immature grandparents like Naani or Dada (referring to Neni & Dani) to act as reporters & take the story forward? Why is it that all of a sudden Samra has stopped speaking to Rania? Ohkay we do understand that Rania has left Aazar’s house & isn’t speaking to Samra but couldn’t they show that Samra called Rania generally & found out that she wasn’t staying with Aazar? Nope, I am sure this idea wouldn’t have crossed the writer’s mind because he was depending on Naani & Daada to do the honors!

I think this drama has broken the records of all the dragramas (drag-dramas) that we have seen in the past. 15 episodes are enough to show the misery that these immature & not so intelligent people inflicted upon themselves, so chop chop, it’s time to come up with solution & a conclusion to this dragrama ASAP, because even though it was senseless to begin with, they have shamed the senses of the viewers enough. Please share your thoughts about the sit-com named Tumhare Siwa. ;)

“This is the most difficult period of my life” – Syed Noor

0

Syed Noor has many accomplishments to his credit but we don’t see him giving interviews and he is not seen in limelight very often now. Maria Wasti invited this iconic director, producer and screen play writer to her Morning Show in which we got to know much more about Syed Noor as a person, how he started his career and where he sees himself today. Syed Noor said that he has always taken criticism in his stride, it is something that has always helped him improve. While talking about the most difficult period in his life he said,

“Right now is the most difficult period of my life because there are a lot of new things which have been introduced in the industry. In this day and age it is not easy to get your self established in the new set up and to get yourself recognized.”

1

Syed Noor didn’t sound very happy with the role of the government or the private sector in promoting or appreciating the film industry. He said,

“The film industry has only come this far because of the passion of the people attached to it otherwise there were never any institutions where anyone got training and guidance from and no one was ever keen to give grants for the industry too.”

6

Talking about the difference between the actors nowadays and that of the 80s he said,

“In the 80s and 90s actors craved for good roles and wanted to give their best but now the stars only want money. They do not care what kind of work they are doing as long as they are getting their required payment for it. They tell you the amount of time they will give to a project depends on the amount of money they get. How can you determine how much time it will take for you to give your best shot?”

Syed Noor intends to make a comeback in the film industry and like always he wants to do something different. He has always believed in setting higher standards and doing something unique. Syed Noor announced earlier that he will be releasing three movies in 2015. Shaan Shahid will most probably be seen as a action hero in one of these films.

Sangat – Episode 16

Pata hai jub koi mur ke bicharta hai tu itni takleef nahi hoti lekin jub koi jeetey ji bichar jata hai tu buhat takleef hoti hai aur us se bhi ziada takleef tub hoti hai jub aik drama fazool mei TRPs ke liye stretch kiya jaye aur dekhne wala apna sur pakr ke beth jaye!!!

This episode like all the previous few was full of lengthy scenes with conversations that were over-stretched and developments that added very little to the story. It isn’t that the writer failed to comprehend that viewers have been shown most of what was shown often enough to get the message across but the real reason is that like all the other dramas, this one too must cross 18 episodes or so. When you have watched 14 or so episodes of a drama that has always managed to keep your interest alive, you can’t just stop watching it because you’re curious to find out how things will unravel and how it will end. Our producers know that only too well therefore every drama is stretched at this point. Most of the times the stories just get ruined in the process and the repetitive stretched scenes are inevitable.

sngt

For the past few episode, every episode of this drama serial has followed a certain pattern, here is how it goes.

* In every episode we see Shahwez saving the day sometimes more than once and there is one scene in which we are shown how desperately he is trying to get out of aunty Zubeida’s house but he is helpless!

* There are at least two or more scenes of Ayesha’s mother in which she yet again in some way expresses her love for Shahwez and this scene is usually followed by a lecture on the weaknesses in our social norms which most often seems out of place.

* We see Farah shouting at either Adnan or Ayesha in every episode for the same reason. Whatever she says is highly repetitive but every time she gets plenty of screen time as if we have no idea what is going through her mind. Her mother tries to make her understand she cannot intervene so much but she tells her off every time.

*There is always some screen time given to Ayesha in which we see her struggling with her situation and now apparently we will see Adnan getting drunk in every episode too! We saw Adnan’s true feelings for Sangat in the last episode and I guess we will be watching him showering the same affection on his daughter in the next episode too but only when he has some alcohol in his system!

sngt1

All these happenings of course will eventually lead to something but by the time they do all the viewers would have lost interest in this drama. The only person who truly deserves screen time and who makes me feel for her character is Ayesha. Rest of the characters have been turned into caricatures because of the repetition. We see them going through and saying the same things over and over again therefore nothing that they say or do holds the viewers’ attention for long.

Salma’s character has to be the most disappointing and least likeable character in the play apart from Shahwez of course. The way she covered up for Shahwez yet again was just plain sad. She actually thought it was okay for her to put the blame on Ayesha! The way the “game” Ayesha played with Adnan to make him realize how he would feel if she left Sangat somewhere was very misleading. Ayesha was shown mourning the loss of her child although she was in the house.

The preview of the next episode showed that there will be even more problems between Ayesha because for some odd reason Adnan feels that his wife should trust him blindly! Who really is the victim here, Adnan or Ayesha? Adnan feels like he is the victim and Ayesha feels like she is duty-bound to do everything she can to make everything alright!

Mohabbat Aag Si – The End!

Ohkay so, just like we all discussed & predicted, they so didn’t need this particular episode because it was more like a recap of the terrible journey that Apa Ji has lived through. They could’ve easily ended the drama last week by showing that things got sorted between Wajahat & Saba & Arshad threw Apa Ji out of his home!

So, Mahnoor’s confession helped Saba overcome the misunderstanding that she was clinging onto about her husband Wajahat. Not that I am against what Saba did, but I wonder why do all these spouses in our dramas are so insecure that they choose to doubt their husbands & wives just so easily? Wajahat doubted Saba for cheating on him & now Saba did the same but then Saba had the reason to because she saw the photos but what Wajahat did was uncalled for because he chose to believe a random guy who popped out of nowhere. Anyways, Saba deserved so much better but if she is miserably happy with this brain-dead fellow called Wajahat, to phir hum kya kar sakte hain!

I really really really liked Samia’s character because she was the only woman of substance in this drama & she proved it right till the end. She tolerated everything that came her way because she never had a support of her husband but slowly & gradually she earned his respect & trust & after that she was on a winning spree. I must say the only character that emerged stronger than ever throughout this journey was Samia. She showed what a woman is capable of if she on her own will decides to fight her battles herself & doesn’t care about anything as far as she knows what she’s doing is right. I was actually happy that Samia requested & somehow ordered Sharafat that she won’t be staying under the same roof which will be shared by Rukhsana as well & yes, Sharafat earned some points back when he understood what Samia was going through & came out with a solution to ease her pain & support her as soon as possible.

Once again, it wasn’t Arshad who told Rukhsana to leave, she left on her own but once again lied to Bee Jee that she’s the one who ditched Arshad because she really thought that this would give her some sort of satisfaction & would ease her pain that she was feeling after being dissed by Arshad. Honestly speaking, I really want to know that after creating so much mess & after creating havoc in people’s lives, what was she expecting that she’d be forgiven easily? She was her own enemy & that’s about it. She wasted her whole life in a false hope that if Arshad wouldn’t have left her, she would’nt have done such things but nope, that’s not how things roll. One way or the other you’re expected & you’re supposed to move on but those who chose not to do that are at mistake & no one else is responsible for your own shortcomings. I think only writer & Bee Jee are two people who had sympathy with Rukhsana whereas she didn’t deserve an ounce of it actually!!!

They literally used the second half as a recap to show Rukhsana reminsicing about her past, which I feel was a time wasted & was more like a filler in this otherwise content-free episode. Also, the way Rukhsana made it back to her brothers’ home was too random. I am sure this must’ve been another one of her plans that got materialized because she would’ve known the route that Wajahat takes, so she deliberately must’ve sat there in a hope that Wajahat will come & find her & being a brand ambassador of khidmat-e-khalq Wajahat had to stop the car, unbuckle the belt, had to open the door & approach her! Anyhow, Rukhsana embraced death silently after getting a chance to apologize from Saba & Samia. I actually don’t really feel anything at this point because I think the ending came too late & literally killed the suspence, curiosity & the charm of this drama that we all had & that is why I am not convinced with the ending that Rukhsana met. I wanted someone to knock some sense into her but the way Sharafat & Wajahat got liberation after Rukhsana’s death once again made them look spineless because they were depending on karma’s move? Why didn’t they take the situation in their hands ever? Why were they always so chilled & casual about the whole scenario & never bothered about finding the solution to the mental problems that Rukhsana had? It’s like Rukhsana had them bound to herself even when she was alive & also when she died, so that they will be able to find happiness as she were to leave them alone because they would do nothing to grab it themselves!!! The only person who did something productive & wise about it was Arshad who took her to the psychiatrist thinking he was taking a well-needed initiative.

Anyhow, this drama was a case of a hit & a miss. The first season was a hit & the second season was a miss. Saba who had a lot of potential chose to go into a deep slumber ever since she got pregnant. I so wish that she had gotten in contact with Arshad Junior & they would’ve played some mind-games with Rukhsana to bring her down. It’s like the writer couldn’t maintain a balance between the villain & the hero(es) (if any) & that is why the villain was always dominant & one step ahead of everyone else whereas the heroes were following the footsteps of a turtle. Things actually were interesting in the beginning because it was a drama based on such a story that we haven’t seen before but too bad that it was reduced to the typical typical typicalll dusri biwi scenario where a hopeless & helpless man was seen running like a headless chicken because he got his head chopped off as a result of multiple marriages! Also, I most certainly don’t agree with the sympathetic words that Wajahat uttered in order to justify Rukhsana’s behavior. What he said suggested that he was putting a blame on Arshad & his mother for turning Apa Ji into a vamp, but sorry, I don’t buy that. She herself had so much evilness in her that she nurtured it & brought herself to a point where she couldn’t see anyone happy. Also the limits that she crossed with Arshad even before she got married to him was also her own choice, so when she was sane enough to go to such extreme, she should have been sane enough to go easy on her brothers & their wives too!

Anyways, the direction was good but the only complain I have is regarding the pace that was slowed down unnecessarily. Iffat Omar was phenomenal & so was Uzma. Honestly speaking, I only started watching this drama because of Iffat Omar & still believe that she did a commendable job, I wish I could say that about her makeup artist though who made sure that they used such foundations that didn’t match her skin tone at all & that is why, such a pretty face ended up looking quite unpleasant. Uzma joined in the list too & she also became one of the reasons why I followed this drama right till the end. Sara Khan looked haseeeeeeeen in literal sense of the word. She is very pretty & talented & actually my favorite as well. The boys were spineless & that’s why their acting or their presence didn’t matter much but yes, the only guy that was impressive in this drama was Imran Ashraf (Arshad Junior), he really is a very very talented actor & I hope we get to see him in more dramas. I so wish his track was extended a little & he was given a bit more screen time too where he would be seen avenging Shareefa’s death! I liked Shareefa’s character too & she still holds some sympathy in my heart because she deserved a better & happy ending also the actress that played her character did a phenomenal job as well. The ladies for sure were totally impressive. Production value of this drama was good too but I really hope that Hum Tv stops following the footsteps of ARY Digital where when they sense that the drama is doing well, they decide to stretch it like a chewing gum. I hope they take notice of the fact that when chewing gum is streteched more than its elasticity, it loses everything, the shape, the taste & is contaminated by germs, so this is exactly what happens with the dramas too. We’ve said this time & again but this time around I’m using bachon wali example in a hope that someone from Hum Tv actually for the first time ‘understands’ what I am saying in easy words!!! Please share your thoughts about this journey that has finalllllllllllllllly ended!!! Phewww!!!

Preet Na Kariyo Koi – Episode 05!

Oh wow! I must say, this drama is getting better & better with each passing episode. I really think that a success behind any drama is the quotient of curiosity that exists even after the episode ends & that has been the case with Preet Na Kariyo Koi since day 1 because I find myself looking forward to the next episode eagerly every single time. I must say the way the story is moving forward & the way little details about the characters are being revealed makes this drama a treat to watch & for that, I thank the writer Amna Mufti & the director Ehtasham ud din for doing wonders & giving us an amazing drama to follow through.

Goshi has once again proved that she can go to any length to get what she wants. She displayed a totally different face in front of Shams where she pleaded & explained to him with humility & sincerity that he means the world to her. Shagufta knows that Shams isn’t someone whose proposal will be approved by her father but still, she has decided to take that chance because for her, nothing is more important than getting married to Shams at this stage. Like I said before, Shagufta is the sort of a girl who can be at her best for someone she loves but she can be a nightmare as well for those who oppose her in any possible way. Goshi knew that Shams was bound because he already got married that’s why she approached Suleri Sahab (Rehan Sheikh); the leader of the political party that Shams is a member of, as she knew that Shams won’t be able to refuse his orders & he happens to be the only person who could get the job done. Shams was the only one who required some convincing because as far as Shagufta is concerned, she knew she could easily force her father to go by her wishes.

It was for the first time that we got a glimpse into Shams’s true nature where he clearly spoke about what his political careers means to him. For the first time, Shams gave away his secret that he can go to any length to protect his career in politics & that is why he wouldn’t even mind if he had to get married to Goshi because he could sense that she can cause harm to his potential career. Also another thing that convinced me about it was that Shams chose to use the love word in front of his group of friends just to convince them that he is only getting married to Goshi because he loves her, whereas what he said prior to this conversation suggested something entirely different. It was interesting to see Shams opening up a bit because so far his character has always been quite mysterious but this time around, we could actually figure out what was going through his mind & also the fact that he is very ambitious about his career & would eliminate any obstacles that come in his way.

Zareena happens to expect a lot more from Shams than what he has to offer. Shams left & didn’t bother speaking to his family or his newly wedded wife because he got a bit too concerned about how he can approach Goshi’s parent. He chose to seek some help from his class-mate & Goshi’s friend Saima. The way Saima projected herself in last episode, I really expected that she would stand for the right & wouldn’t support Shams in lying to her mother but she found all this to be quite exciting, therefore she became a part of the plan too. Shams thought that the only way to get married to Goshi was to lie to her father & keep some major facts from him. Shams happens to be someone who believes in taking decisions at the spur of a moment & he doesn’t believe in thinking things through. He did it before when he didn’t take a moment & decided to get married to Zareena within few seconds & he is doing it again where just when he sensed that Goshi can create issues for him, he immediately decided that he will get married to her too. Shams believes in dealing with the situations the moment they pop up, without even thinking for a second that all these decisions that he is taking are lifelong & aren’t something that he can think about or deal with later on in his life. I think Shams doesn’t understand that people are dependent on him & expect more from him because right now he is too focused about his career that he isn’t paying heed to all these people who are surrounding him. Shams might think that he is going in the right direction but the way he remains oblivious to the fact that the consequences can go against him makes him look a bit gullible.

I felt bad for Goshi’s father & Ilyas’s mother. Once again Goshi left her father with no choice but to agree to her demands & unfortunately, Fiaz had to do what Goshi ordered as he knows that she is quite difficult to deal with. Shagufta continued shaming Ilyas in front of both her father & his mother because she knew that this was the card that was going to work for her. The moment she felt that her father will take a step back from accepting Shams’s proposal, she used Ilyas’s name to convince him & remind him that she accepted his decision once & now it was his turn to pay her back. It was good to see Mariam but sadly she didn’t get much screen time. I really am keen to see how her & Ilyas’s relation is shaping up because it looked like she is doing everything to keep her family happy but her mother in law is still giving her a hard time & has not accepted her wholeheartedly. I really hope that they don’t cut down on Ilyas’s character & keep him involved in the story one way or the other.

I am sure Goshi doesn’t understand what she is getting into. She isn’t as far sighted as she thinks she is because if Goshi would’ve had a faintest idea of what people like Suleri are capable of, she would have never gotten in contact with him. I am sure Suleri is also going to use Goshi in order to keep Shams entrapped & he will use this against both of them because he doesn’t seem as nice as he poses to be. I have a feeling that things are going to get quite difficult for Goshi in the time to come because she has no idea what the life that she has chosen for herself with Shams would be like. In fact, I believe things will get difficult for Shams as well because where on one hand he’d have to deal with Suleri, on the other his brother might make things tough for him as well because it looks like his brother & bhabhi have an agenda too & they feel no shame in deceiving him as well.

The preview of the next episode was intense & happening. Once again, HUM TV editors tricked us into believing that Shams & Goshi will get married in this episode by showing such clips in the preview last week but looks like it will be happening in the upcoming episode. I really hope Goshi’s father; being a heart-patient would survive the lies & deciet that both her daughter & son-in-law have fabricated in front of him. I must say, Irfan Khoosat has portrayed the feelings of a concerned & helpless father to perfection & I actually teared up at that moment where he felt that he would collapse after Goshi’s final verdict of getting married to Shams. Each & every character has done complete justice to their characters & once again, Hira stood out for me in this episode, where she actually made her pleading seem heartfelt & genuine because it was her honest confession that forced Shams to take such a huge step where he is not thinking about the future at all. Ahsan Khan was brilliant in this episode as well, I must say the way he has worked on his body language & his expressions is commendable, he actually is a powerful actor but has made some bad choices. I hope that this project puts things into perspective for Ahsan Khan & he chooses such substantial roles in the future too. Please share your beautiful say about this beautiful episode of Preet Na Kariyo Koi. :)

Mahira Khan Walks The Ramp For Umar Sayeed – Pictures

0

The Fashion Pakistan Week has seen some of the finest collections by the leading designers in the country being showcased by the most lovable and talented stars of Pakistan. Mahira Khan was also seen showcasing Umar Sayeed’s collection along with her upcoming film “Ho Mann Jahan” co-stars Sheheryar Munawar and Adeel Hussein. This walk on the ramp was not like any other. Mahira Khan appeared on the ramp alone in her own style with the heavily embroidered duppata covering her face. She also walked the ramp with Adeel Hussein, both these stars performed on a song. They looked very cute and people can’t stop watching the videos that were made by those present there. Then all the three stars appeared on the ramp and once again performed on a song. Sheheryar Munawar took the lead this time around and the other two followed. All of them thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Here are some pictures from their ramp walk which stole the show.

Naraz – Episode 1 – 4

Written by : Mohsin Ali
Directed by : Najaf Bilgarami
Produced By: Showcase Productions
Channel and Timings: ARY Digital – Monday- 8 pm

Naraz is the story of Azlan Ahmed (Faysal Qureshi) who ran his own brokerage firm very successfully for many years until his risk-taking, over-ambitious nature and bad luck landed him into trouble. The stocks he invested in crashed and as a result not only did his brokerage firm collapse but he also had to sell his house in order to pay his clients.

Azlan Ahmed had the perfect life, a wife (Sara Khan) who he loves and who loves him, a son Azar for whom he will do anything and all the luxuries in the world. All this comes to an end by the end of the first episode and a completely different life starts for Azlan and his family from episode 2. Friends turn their backs and Azlan is forced to shift in a small apartment and has to work for someone else for the first time. Azlan’s employee and friend Ayesha (Javeria Abbasi) stands by him through thick and thin and she clearly feels something more for him than just friendship. Ayesha does not have time for her parents and can’t be with them because she wants to help Azlan in any way she can. She does not need this job but she does it any way probably so that she can be near Azlan. The presence of the other woman put me off in the beginning also because the difference between the wife and the other woman was stereotypical. The wife Fariha comes from a middle class family and is simple, Ayesha on the other hand wears Western dresses, speaks English and is street-smart. But the manner in which the relationship between all these characters has been shown has given me absolutely nothing to complain about so far.

n3

Azlan’s wife Fariha is simple but she has a strong personality. She tells Ayesha off when she asks her to find someone like Azlan for her. She takes a stand when her husband does not acknowledge her parents’ presence when they come to visit. She is there for her husband but we also see her complaining every now and then.

Azlan is a good father and husband but he is not perfect. He has a big ego and for him money is very important. The one thing that stands out about his personality more than anything else is his relationship with his son. Azlan wants his son Azar to have all the comforts of life and he sees himself as his caretaker and protector. When he does not have the money to provide for his son the way he was before, he gets frustrated. Quite interestingly this personality trait has unfortunately turned out to be a weakness for Azar. He refuses his wife or anyone else’s help because he wants to do it all himself even when he knows that he can’t. Similarly, when he starts working he takes decisions he is not in a capacity to take because he thinks he knows better. Azlan wants to do everything on his own terms and conditions. The weaknesses in his personality have been reflected in a very apt manner and also the fact that Azlan is not aware of these weaknesses at all. He still wants to be in charge even though he is not in a position to do so. You understand Azlan and where he is coming from, it is easy for the viewers to relate to what his character is going through.

n2

The biggest strength of Naraz is that it is not a typical story. The main protagonist for a change is a man who is unaware of his weaknesses and is going to learn some lessons about life the hard way. Azlan Ahmed is not used to living the life he has to live now and the story is going to be about how he copes with this situation. The very first scene of the drama makes you wonder if that is Azlan because someone like him might resort to extreme measures if he cannot cope. Faysal Qureshi completely owns his character right from the get-go. Sara Khan and Faysal Qureshi have great on-screen chemistry, the fresh pairing of these two actors along with the way their characters are etched-out and remarkable acting by both of them has taken this drama up a notch. The pace of the drama has been perfect so far and it has been directed really well. The director has not banked on beautiful surroundings for making the play more visually pleasing but the short and well-thought-out scenes have been the strong point of Naraz in all these episodes. Naraz is engaging and makes you look forward to more. Watch it for Faysal Qureshi’s brilliant acting if nothing else!

Tere Mere Beech – Episode 01!

Ohkay so, Production of Moomal Entertainment, Writing of Atiya Daud & Direction of Mohsin Talat; Tere Mere Beech hit our TV screens last night at 9PM. To be honest, it was the promos that caught my attention & I decided that I’d give this drama a go. I know not many people would be following this drama because it airs at 9PM that too on Sundays but somehow, a very loud & annoying protagonist along with different cast made me want to watch it. Honestly speaking, even though the first episode was kind of predictable, I didn’t have much complaints with it & when the episode ended, I was left with a feeling of curiosity where I wanted to see more, so yes, I liked the first episode!

Tere Mere Beech is mainly a story of Hareem (Sanam Chaudhry) who has been raised by her maternal uncle Shabbir (Javed Sheikh) & his wife Zahida in a small town away from the city. Hareem knows that they are not her biological parents & her uncle & aunt have not kept the secret from her, however her aunt always reminds her that she needs to stay in touch with her mother Nighat (Saba Faisal) & her sisters Nadia (Maryam Ansari) & Sadia (Javeria Ajmal) but Hareem never fancies the idea because she holds a grudge against her mother that out of her three daughters, she chose to part Hareem from herself. Shabbir has a huge property & because he has no child of his own, he decides to give everything that he owns to his daughter Hareem. Hareem is a spoiled brat because her uncle & aunt who she refers to as her father & mother have done everything to keep her comfortable & give her everything that she needs. They have made sure to spoil her as much as they can because Hareem is their world & pampering her through expensive gifts is a norm for them because they can easily afford to fulfill as her wants & desires. It takes an expensive mobile phone for Shabbir to convince Hareem to go & meet her mother & sisters & she only wants it so that she can brag about it in front of her sisters.

Coll 1

Nighat believes in living life simply & she is doing well for herself & her daughters despite the fact that she is a single parent. Nadia & Sadia are courteous & responsible girls who are well aware of the fact that their mother works hard for them & that is why they choose to do everything they are supposed to in order to keep their mother happy. Hareem is completely opposite to her sisters & she makes sure to let them know every single time that she has a sound background in their comparison & she is an heiress to the empire that her father has created in his whole life. Nighat obviously isn’t happy with the way Hareem has been raised but she knows that she can’t do much now as Hareem has gotten used to that lifestyle & Zahida makes sure to keep her daughter comfortable. Nighat is taken aback by Hareem’s harsh words where she tells her mother honestly that she still hasn’t forgiven her for her decision of giving Hareem away to her brother. The reason that Nighat gives to Hareem wasn’t convincing where she says that just because Hareem was able to drink a formula milk, she took a decision in Sadia’s favor as she was totally dependent on her mother whereas Hareem wasn’t!?!?! I really think the writer should’ve come up with a better excuse but never-mind.

Just when Hareem is visiting her mother, Fahad (Agha Ali) comes across her & the moment he lays his eyes on her he starts inquiring about her because just by looking at Hareem he figures out that she belongs to a good family & I have a feeling that Agha Ali will have a negative role to play in this drama because his expressions hinted that he was only impressed with Hareem for the fact that she has a sound background. He tails her to a shopping mall & finally manages to have a conversation with her to get himself noticed. Hareem may come across as a very loud character but she actually is very gullible because she has always lived in a very protected environment & she doesn’t even have that much of an exposure or education to be able to understand or read through people’s minds. She chooses to hold grudges with her family & never once thinks of giving them a benefit of the doubt.

Nadia happens to meet a guy named Ali (Noor Hassan) at a gathering & they have a conversation which compells Ali to believe that Nadia’s the one for him. He straight away tells Nadia that he is interested in getting married to her but his mother (Seemi Pasha) isn’t too happy with his sudden decision of getting married to a girl who doesn’t belong to the same social class as them, but Ali requests his mother to give Nadia a chance & think things through.

Just when Shabbir holds a meeting with the lawyer to discuss his plans, his lawyer is blackmailed by Shabbir’s younger brother Qadeer (Sajid Shah) to make sure that he gets all the property of his brother. Just when Hareem & Zahida are in Karachi, they get the news that Shabbir has met an accident & has passed away, which I’m sure won’t be just an accident & his younger brother will definitely be involved in it. The preview of the next episode suggested that things are going to get really hard for Hareem & the bubble that she lives in will burst where she will be forced to face the harsh realities of life & her life will be turned upside down.

Honestly speaking, as far as the first episode is concerned, I really have no complaints with it because the production value was great, the direction was to the point & the camera work was top-notch. Sanam Chaudhry did really well in portraying the character of a girl who has been pampered throughout her life but still has some insecurities & hatred filled in her. All the other actors not only looked great but did well too as far as the acting is concerned, so I must say, that’s an added bonus. To be honest, I am not keeping my expectations high at this point as it’s too quick to form an opinion but I most certainly will be coming back to Tere Mere Beech to see what they have in store for us. Please share your thoughts if you’ve given this drama a chance & let me know how did you find the very first episode?

Azfar Ali Divorces Naveen Waqar

Azfar Ali and Naveen Waqar’s marriage was the most controversial marriage of recent times. When Azfar left his wife Salma and married Naveen who played the role of Sara in Hamsafar people were not happy. People always saw Naveen as the other woman who was a home breaker. For one year the couple went into hiding because every time they were seen on screen people criticized them even more. It was only very recently that they were seen in talk shows in which they talked about how badly this attitude of people had effected them. They were later also seen together in a sitcom.

a1

Salma for the first time also talked about her life and divorce with Azfar Ali openly in a talk show in which she said that Azfar was a baby who needed to be looked after all the time and when she had her daughter, Azfar felt that he was being ignored that is when he turned to Naveen. Salma and Azfar were married for 11 years.

Azfar and Naveen’s marriage has come to an end only after few years of getting married. while talking to Express Tribune,

“I have divorced my now ex-wife Naveen Waqar. We’ve been separated since July 2015 and then I filed for divorce which came through in November.”

He also said,

“The news of our marriage was blown way out of proportion and since it eventually became public news and information, I don’t want to keep anybody in the dark now… I also chose to do this [disclose the news] because a lot of people are calling me and inviting us to their shows for a joint interview. I want everybody to know, once and for all, that we have separated and there is no need for this.”

a2

Azfar also shared why they parted ways. He said,

“I don’t think the reason behind the divorce is important, it’ll be enough to say that we were not getting along and if things are not happy at home, there is no point in dragging them on.”

Naveen Waqar is not talking to media and her brother says that this is their personal matter so they don’t want to talk to media about it.

5 Reasons Why Pakistani Dramas Are Not Family Entertainment

0

There was a time few decades ago when at 8pm all the members of the family used to sit in front of the television screens to watch drama on a Pakistani channel. PTV was the main source of entertainment in majority of the houses and the people who were at the helm of affairs in PTV understood that. They did their job and provided people with dramas which were entertaining and were family oriented. The script and direction was such that there was never any room for controversy. This was the time when the story of the saas-bahu and women being raped were not the norm. Neither did these drama focus only on marital problems or extra marital affairs. Tanhaiyan, Dhoop Kinare, Ankahi, Dhuwan, Alpha Bravo Charlie and many more had strong scripts which did not have anything controversial about them but they are still considered classics because they did not need controversies to get attention from the viewers. PTV, at that time concentrated on quality entertainment even though they did not have any other channels to compete with.

20

When private channels started and they begin to make their own drama things drastically changed because there was a dearth of writers and good directors. That is when for a few years sadly Pakistani dramas started copying the dramas from across the border and they started concentrating on make-up and sets more than the script. With some new production houses and new actors things changed for a few years and people started liking and watching Pakistani dramas again but for two years now it looks like our channels are trying very hard to get attention of the viewers but not by coming up with new quality scripts but by showing controversial topics.

22

Topics Of The Dramas

Most of our dramas nowadays revolve around illicit relationships. Every second girl in our dramas is throwing herself on rich boys and even much older men because they want their money. Extra marital affairs are shown in the dramas all the time. Along with that, rape has been the most favorite topic of our drama writers. All of these topics are bold, people cannot watch these dramas with their families because of these topics. Our dramas show marriages and divorces like they are nothing serious.

3

Showing Drinking Like It Is Common Practice

Alcohol abuse is shown in many of our dramas like it is something normal. People do consume alcohol in Pakistan but it is a practice that is looked down upon. Showing people getting drunk in dramas is like giving approval for this practice.

Vulgar Dressing

Some Pakistani actresses wear clothes that make it impossible for people to tune into these dramas while family is around. Recently, the male actors also show their bodies more than necessary.

37

Bold Dialogues

The topics of our dramas are already bold but what makes them even more indecent are the bold dialogues. Everything does not always need to be said, some things can just be conveyed in a restrained way but that is not happening in our dramas nowadays.

27

Showing Women Being Abused And Vulgar scenes

We see women being verbally and physically abused in our dramas like there is nothing wrong with it. Men treat their women in the worst manner and women put up with it. There is physical abuse which makes people very uncomfortable. Similarly while showing romantic relationships the couples unnecessarily get too close to one another, which is not needed. There was a time when rainy scenes were added to Pakistani films to show women wearing wet clothes that would cling to their body but now it happens in Pakistani dramas all the time too.

Do you think that our writers and directors should think about turning these dramas into family entertainment once again? Why do you feel that you cannot watch these dramas with your family?

Diyar-e-Dil Jodi Reunites On The Ramp

Diyar-e-Dil without any doubt was the most popular drama serial of this year. The Aunn Zara jodi Maya Ali and Osman Khalid Butt, who are also very good friends in real life reunited in the drama and impressed the viewers with their on-screen chemistry and acting. They became so popular that people wanted to see a sequel of the drama which would revolve around their story and what happened with them in the future. This jodi has innumerable fans who also think that they should think about being a real life couple too. There are many instagram, twitter and facebook fan pages which are dedicated to them.

Fashion Pakistan Week started on Saturday in which many actors were seen gracing the ramp but one couple that stood out more than others was that of Maya Ali and Osman Khalid Butt. They walked for Wardha Saleem. Maya Ali also recorded a message and put it on instagram where she said that she was happy to be walking for Wardha Saleem and she wished the designer all the best. In one of the walks the couple looked royal with very formal outfits and in the other they adorned a very casual look with jeans. They rocked both the looks and once again won the hearts of many.

Osman Khalid Butt also recorded a message in which he told his fans,

“I am walking the ramp for the first time in Fashion Pakistan Week for Wardha Saleem, I wish her all the best and I hope I do her awesome clothes justice.”

Ho man jahan – Ho Mann Jahaan Movie Official… by LollywoodVilla

Another good point I want to make here that fortunately this movie will not include any item numbers as we are still experiencing item numbers in most of our films. Disappointingly our industry is turning itself into Bollywood slowly slowly where Item Numbers are being used as a key for film promotions.

Ik Nayee Subah (اک نئی صبح) with Farah Saadia on APlus

Farah Saadia who is doing morning show Morning With Farah on Terrestrial channel ATV for more than 9 years is now switching to a new channel. From 1st December 2015 Farah will be hosting the morning show of APlus the satellite entertainment channel of ATV.

ATV and PTV Home are the only two entertainment terrestrial channel in Pakistan. The morning shows of both ATV and PTV Home are quite low in glamour and glitter as compared to the morning shows of satellite channels. Terrestrial channels have a wider reach then satellite channels are even watched in distant remote areas of Pakistan.

It will be interesting to see how Farah handles this switch from a terrestrial channel morning show to a satellite channels morning show.

Tumhare Siwa – Episodes 8 – 14!

Ohkay so, it was after the 7th episode when I left watching this drama because honestly, I was unable to take time out for it on Fridays & also it wasn’t as special as let’s say Diyar-e-Dil that it deserved my utmost attention. So I decided to give it a go now just to see what was happening in this drama because whenever I live stream HUM TV I never get to see its promos & I am speaking about the promos because only they are enough to let you know what’s going to happen in the entire episode. So, not getting a chance to see the promo & just because of the curiosity, I decided to watch it but firstly I was amazed at myself that I watched 7 episodes in less than 2 hours & for that I thank the one who invented forward button because when I am watching such dramas, the forward button gives me this strong sense of power & authority that I have a control over such a crappy content!

I must say that all the snails & turtles in the world should be declared clear winners when it comes to comparing the pace between their pace & the pace of Tumhare Siwa. I was amazed that 7 weeks passed by & the story didn’t move forward at all & like even if it did, it was easily suitable for them to use a couple of episodes to show that progress. The last time I checked, Samra was in UK with Arsal & she was returning back after going through a successful surgery. As expected & predicted, Arsal met an accident & the funniest thing was, for 3 days Aazar & Rania were waiting to hear from Arsal & Samra whereas later when they inquired they got to know that they had left for Pakistan 3 days ago. I guess they were babysitting Samra’s daughter Neni, so it is imperative that Aazar & Rania didn’t smell something fishy because all I know is Neni would cry out loud for her parents in the middle of the night but she spent those 3 days without even bothering to remind her uncle & aunt that she would like to speak to her mum & dad!

Anyways, it was those laser eyes of Neni that helped her spot her mother in an ambulance & that’s when the ill-fated couple was found out by Aazar & Rania. Arsal passed away & Samra was stronger than ever. I must say she is Pakistan’s version of Iron Lady because this woman survived a divorce, an iddat, a re-marriage, a surgery & now a death of her ex-husband. Samra’s now struggling to cope up with her loss & Rania & Aazar are having issues with each other because Rania is feeling insecure & Aazar is too concerned about his Bhabhi & Biwi rolled into one; Samra. I know it does seem just as stupid as it sounds. So, this is exactly what has happened in these 7 episodes & I am shocked that it still is being shown on Fridays. Gone are the days when Friday nights at HUM TV used to be dedicated to the best drama of the week & this is how HUM TV has decided to pay all their fans back! I am impressed.

This story has so many loopholes & the one that remains unbeaten is the fact that now Aazar has to stay married to Samra because the hawai ‘airline’ for which he supposedly works at has refused to bear the expenses of Samra & Neni because she wasn’t married to Arsal before he died. I mean when the writer made the husband-swapping seem so easy & effortless, why is it so hard for him to turn things in Rania’s favor where Aazar would divorce Samra? The point is, now when the airline has refused to help & Aazar is forced to take care of Samra like he is supposed to bear their expenses, so he can do that even after divorcing Samra because all she needs is some decent amount of money to make the ends meet. I am sure the ‘airline’ he works at isn’t paying him extra bucks just because they are considerate of the fact that he has two wives to take care of & two branded lawn suits to buy every time he goes to a shopping mall. I must say, not that I am trying to put down the deceased but I guess he was a pilot too & which pilot in this day lives in a rented house? Also, it brings me to this point once again that if Aazar is doing so good for himself, what was Arsal doing all those years that he couldn’t even afford a home for himself. Everyone knows that pilots do well for themselves & their families but ye kaunsa ghareeb pilot tha? Also, the whole pilot thing was just a catch that they used in order to grab the attention where they wanted to show that the characters are different because I think where Aazar should be in the air taking passengers from one destination to the other, he is seen making round trips from home to school in order to pick & drop Neni & Dani? He doesn’t seem like a pilot anymore or may be he had a career switch at this age? Also, sticking an Aeroplane poster at the wall doesn’t really create an ambiance that either Arsal or Aazar have had anything to do with the airline industry!!!

Samra has unintentionally started relying on Aazar where she calls him even if she’s facing a power cut but I am wondering in a city where load-shedding is a norm, why was it so hard for Samra to sit through those hours? She still refers to Aazar as bhai but still she needs to pull herself together. Yes, she is concerned because the BBC reporters named Dani & Neni conveyed the news to Samra that Aazar & Rania had a fight because of her & she wants to help them both but it is just not happening & it won’t happen unless Samra wipes her tears off, gets on her feet & stop being a burden on Aazar & Rania. The amount of screaming Ayesha Khan did in one of those episodes was overbearing & it wasn’t even working because the whole fight seemed so forced because it was too obvious that both Ahsan & Ayesha Khan were made to blabber whatever came to their minds due to lack of dialogues as a result of the writer being too lazy to come up with appropriate lines to be delivered.

I must say, Tania & Baber impressed me with their consistency. They were absolutely lifeless when I left the show & now when I came back after 7 weeks, they were just the same, like not even an iota of difference in their routines or lives. I think they should give lessons on how one can become consistently annoying & while they’re at that, they can drop a few hints on how they remain so happily lifeless all the time. Chalo, if Tania was Rania’s well-wisher in true sense, her concern for Aazar & Rania would’ve made sense but she isn’t even sincere with her brother & his first wife, so her involvement in their personal matters makes no sense whatsoever.

Rania is obviously feeling insecure because she can see that Samra & her daughter have all of a sudden become a priority for Aazar but then if I am not mistaken, the one who initiated the plan & showed an excitement over this adventure was Rania herself. When deep down she knew that her ‘zarf’ wasn’t as big as her red pout, then she shouldn’t have given a green signal for this husband swapping scenario. I am sure that at such an age, a woman is well aware of her strengths & her weaknesses, so I am guessing that Rania knew she won’t be able to put up an act for so long, so I feel she is equally responsible for things getting out of her control!

I really like Mansha Pasha & I really find her beautiful, but honestly speaking, she is not suitable for this role because her droopy eyes magnify her sadness tenfold & she actually puts me to sleep. It is really difficult to see an already sad face crying buckets because that sadness gets to you, like seriously!!! I think the lady who has sung the OST should either stop singing or should gargle with saline water before singing another song because seems like her voice is coming from a deep dug well & it is annoying like anything!!! Everything about Ahsan Khan is wrong in this drama like his acting & expressions but what’s worst is his makeup, I couldn’t take my eyes off the 10 shades lighter foundation that he is wearing, that pink lipstick he thinks he’s rocking, that orange eye-shade & that green stubble that peaks through his foundation!!! What were you thinking Ahsan Khan? Ayesha Khan’s ponytails fail to defy her age & she looks older than both Ahsan & Mansha. I think now when Aazar is all alone after Rania has left, he will resort to his Biwi/Bhabhi Samra & they will start developing feelings for each other because that’s the universal rule of our dramas that Biwi # 1 is a vamp & Biwi # 2 is a victim! Share your thoughts if you’ve invested as much as 10 seconds in this senseless drama please!!!

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,

Gul-e-Rana – Episode 4

This episode of Gul-e-Rana focused more on Sajjal’s character and her interactions with Adeel. Gul-e-Rana is a strong girl who will raise her voice only when she feels like she needs to put her foot down but there were a few things in this episode that were not in line with her character. I must say that the flashbacks in which she remembers her father and her relationship with her Tayya Abu had to be the highlight of this episode. The kind of relationship she has with Adeel was somewhat predictable but I like the balance which the writer managed to keep. Adeel does not give Gul-e-Rana and her family much respect too; he orders them around like they are his personal servants, does not want them to talk back and they are definitely not allowed to make the slightest changes in the house. But at the same time we don’t see him passing the kind of remarks he passes when he is with his Phupos perhaps because he feels that they are ‘earning’ their stay in the house. Adeel is secretly fascinated by Gul-e-Rana already because he has never come across a girl who wouldn’t want to be with him or who has some self-respect!

g1

I must admit that I was expecting the opening scene of tonight’s episode to be much worse therefore I was pleasantly surprised when the introduction of our hero and heroine ended quickly with Gul-e-Rana telling Adeel that she was his chacha zaad behan! The second scene on the breakfast table however seemed completely out of place. Why would Gul-e-Rana behave like that and why would someone like Adeel put up with such a behavior? Part of this episode reminded me of MSKSH and there were bits that reminded me of Hamsafar. The way Gul-e-Rana ended up in Adeel’s house is very similar to the way Khirad ended up in Asher’s house. Gul-e-Rana’s perfection and the way her family’s presence in the house has changed everything and not to mention the fact that there is only one servant in this affluent household therefore everyone has to ask Gul-e-Rana for tea reminded me of Romaissa. Also, all the men in the house are drooling over this girl already. Adeel’s phupo reminded me of Romaissa and Nabeel’s greedy family – the sort of people who you do not enjoy watching on screen at all, their scenes are highly repetitive, their characters have nothing going for them but they get a lot of screen time nevertheless.

g2

There were few scenes in tonight’s episode that seemed out of place and the timeline was confusing as well. When Adeel asked Munira to call Gulab Khan to clean his room she said he had gone somewhere with his aunty and later on by the time he got downstairs he was informed that he was washing his car and he said that he asked him to do that when he came home!!! Is there really only one Gulab Khan in the house or many replicas of him;) Don’t rich people have drivers, cooks, people who clean for them, pick up after them as opposed to one person who does everything around the house? Sundas Tariq is a good actress but she is wasting herself playing these roles. Maria is not even tolerable. This drama is crowded with characters but unfortunately very few of them are appealing. Some are desperate and others not very impressive.

Our male actors really should stop white washing themselves. Feroze Khan needs to tone down his make-up especially the concealer because it was shining under his eyes. While Feroze Khan has tried his best to do justice to his character, he is not that convincing as the rich brat especially because he comes across only as a brat and the X-factor is missing. This character needed a certain class which is missing even with all the attention to dressing and styling. Sajjal Ali’s dressing and hairstyle remains unaltered as usual. I must say that the only actor who has truly impressed me with his acting and fits the role is Mehmood Akhter. Rubina Ashraf too has done complete justice to her role.

Did you watch tonight’s episode of Gul-e-Rana? Do share your thoughts about it.

Sheheryar Munawar Challenges Hamza Ali Abbasi

2Ho Mann Jahaan will be the first Pakistani film which will be released in 2016. The video of one of the songs of the films is already out and the team of the film is promoting it already. The thing that sets these promotions apart from the promotions of other films are the innovative ways the young actors are using to let people know what their film has to offer and they are also involving other celebrities in the process who do not play the lead in the film but only made a guest appearance.

1

Hamza Ali Abbasi is one such actor who will make a guest appearance in the film. Sheheryar Munawar Siddiqui who is playing the leading role in the film has challenged Hamza Ali Abbasi in the most creative way which is sure to catch the interest of the public. Sheheryar Munawar through a Dubmash video asked Hamza Ali Abbasi to copy his dance moves from the song “Shakar Wandan”.

4

Hamza Ali Abbasi said in one of the shows that he wasn’t good at dancing at all but he showed his dance moves in the film Jawani Phir Nahi Aani. Because of this Sheheryar Munawar wants him to show these moves once again and prove that he is up to the challenge. He also wants this challenge to continue by Hamza Ali Abbasi challenging other celebrities.

5

Ho Mann Jahaan promises to be a film which the youth will enjoy watching. All the stars who are part of the film are already the sweethearts of young television watching viewers.

5 Reasons Why Nadia Khan Show Is Better Than Other Morning Shows

0

We see viewers complaining all the time that Morning Shows have turned into a circus because of all the trends which Morning Shows are following. The fake weddings and the fascination with fair skin and slim figures is the focus of all these Morning Shows. Nadia Khan made her comeback on television with her own Morning Show few weeks back and since then every episode of her show has given viewers something interesting to watch. Nadia Khan does not do anything exceptional but she also does not do those things which make other Morning Shows irritating. Everyone works on the sets and the looks but what counts the most is the personality and aura the host brings with him or her on the show.

Here are 5 reasons why everyone should switch to Nadia Khan’s Morning Show instead of any other.

n1

Spontaneous And Meaningful Conversations

Like every other Morning Show host Nadia Khan too of course follows a script but there are many times when we see her taking the conversations with her guests to different directions depending on what the guest brings to the table. Unlike other Morning Show hosts Nadia Khan has a presence of mind because of which she says the right things at the right time and very often her guests end up telling things which they wouldn’t otherwise because of the way she maneuver the discussions.

n2

Relevant Questions

There are so many Morning Show hosts who will invite someone you want to know so much about but the kind of questions that the Morning Show hosts ask do no add to your knowledge about the guests at all. The guest come to a show for hours but they leave without sharing anything of importance about their career or family life mainly because the hosts keep on beating around the bush while asking questions. Sometimes the guests are kept busy playing silly games so there isn’t enough time for talk.

n3

Nadia Khan always asks relevant questions about the family life and most importantly about the ups and downs in the career of the celebrities she invites. The questions are also not the usual questions which are asked in every other interview but the questions show that Nadia Khan knows her guests very well (probably because of research) so she asks questions that certainly make the viewer know more about the celebrity.

Interesting Guests

Nadia Khan has always invited guests who are interesting people. They are also those celebrities who are at the turning point of their career. What makes them even more interesting is that they are very casual, candid and uninhibited when they are in this show. Ayesha Khan, Imran Abbas, Noor, Sohai Ali and many others are usually very to-the-point in their other interviews but in Nadia Khan Show they showed a different side of theirs which was very interesting to watch.

n5

No Fake Weddings

Yes!!!! This show does not have fake weddings! Neither does the format of the show revolve around wedding day and how to get fair and slim before your wedding. In fact Nadia Khan is very often seen making fun of those Morning Shows which have fake weddings. She even criticized Noor on her face for holding Laila’s fake wedding.

n6

Chemistry And Friendship With Guests

The one thing that pretty much sums up why Nadia Khan’s Show is different from other shows is the unique chemistry and perhaps friendship Nadia Khan has with her guests. Although the show is scripted but the whole show looks like a fun conversation between friends because of this chemistry. Because of this friendship Nadia Khan is seen asking questions from celebrities which other hosts can’t even think of asking.

Have you watched Nadia Khan’s Show after her comeback? Do you agree with these points?

Mohabbat Aag Si – Episodes 36 & 37!

Ohkay so, finally we got the glimmer of hope that this drama is going to end next week & for that I am relieved & ecstatic. They have stretched it enough & it’s a high time they should end it now. The way things progressed in tonight’s episode made me think that this’d be the last episode but nope, they decided to push it a little further but now that I know it’s going to end, I am fine with it!

Seriously, I don’t want to sound harsh but I thought Sharafat got handicapped physically but he proved that he wasn’t only physically handicapped but mentally too just because he chose to believe everything that Apa Ji said yet again & started doubting Samia. I mean after all that this woman has done, this is how Sharafat decided to pay her back for her loyalty, her sincerity & her patience with such a burden of a husband like him! I mean why do they show that it is so easy to plant a seed of doubt in a husband’s mind against his wife? After all that Sharafat went through & all the things Samia did for him, the last person he should’ve believed should have been Apa Ji because he also knows what Rukhsana is capable of! I actually was taken by surprise when he defended his wife in front of Rukhsana but then, it lasted for a second & the very next moment, he lost his sanity & sensibility. Why was it so easy for Sharafat to judge Samia because she stepped out of the house to make the ends meet? Not that I hold a high opinion about all the men in this drama but Sharafat lost the tad bit of respect I had for him for having a good relation with his wife before his accident.

I guess Saba asked Wajahat to prove his innocence but did he do anything? I am asking because I never saw him moving a muscle or worrying sick about how he should mend the situation? All he did was sit in his comfortable office chair & shed a few glycerin-filled tears? I guess he got a bit too comfortable in his state of self-pity that he decided to prolong it & not bother about the things his wife had asked him to do. Honestly speaking, it is hard for me to figure out who’s more useless when it comes to using the thing known as a ‘brain’; Sharafat or Wajahat? I actually had added Arshad’s name in the list too but he redeemed himself in tonight’s episode because he wasn’t actually that clue, brain & spine-less!

Just like Rukhsana has no purpose in her life, I honestly felt that this drama has no purpose left whatsoever as well but I am glad that they wrapped things up & now the only thing’s that’s left to see is Rukhsana’s end. The amount of screaming Rukhsana has done in these couple of episodes has actually deafened me to some extent. Even though I knew what had transpired between Rukhsana & Arshad 12 years ago, but to hear it out loud actually left me disgusted & made me feel that Fareeda should leave Arshad after finding the truth about the level of his love affair with Rukhsana, but before she could’ve taken any decision she got the news she was waiting for & yes, she fell pregnant which was too predictable because something of this level was definitely needed to wake & shake Arshad up, otherwise he also got a little too comfortable with the multiple marriage situation.

Even though this drama deviated from the main topic & things became ugly, but the only thing I found sensible enough was Arshad’s decision of taking Rukhsana to a psychiatrist. I think we never see that happening in our dramas where a person who actually suffers from some mental issues is made to visit a shrink. Arshad took an initiative in a very good manner because it showed that despite all that Rukhsana has done to him, he actually cared for her & loved her enough to have taken a step to improve her mental condition but Rukhsana failed to see his sincere attempt of helping her & started another drama. What Arshad did was more like a solution to Rukhsana’s problem & an initiative to help her wisely. He did think that may be Rukhsana will feel at ease but she didn’t budge at all. Obviously, later when he found out that he was going to become a father, the puzzle got solved & he understood that Rukhsana was lying to him throughout & she never loved him. All the things Arshad said to her showed that he wasn’t oblivious of what Rukhsana was up-to but he kept on giving her a chance thinking she might stop but what pushed him was the lie that she told him about his medical reports!

Mahnoor couldn’t live with the guilt & she decided to free herself from the house-arrest that Rukhsana put her through. It was good to see that things were going against Rukhsana because I think her time of glory has lasted for too long & now she should pay for all that she has done. Finally Mahnoor was able to see Wajahat & even Saba so it obviously means that things will be fine from now on for both of them. Sharafat managed to get up & walk on his feet but the way that shot was captured made me LOL, there was something hilarious about the way Sharafat ran but chalo, dair aye durust aye!

The preview of the next episode suggested that Wajahat will find Rukhsana in a miserable condition so I am guessing that he’d bring her home but this isn’t exactly how her ending should be where her brothers will forgive her for wrecking their lives time & again. I think showing her miserable with a mazloomana soundtrack in the background isn’t the perfect idea of putting an end to Rukhsana’s story. She deserves something harsh & severe so I hope she’s served what she deserves. Anyways, please share your thoughts about these episodes & let me know how happy you are after finding out that Mohabbat Aag Si is ending next week? :)

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

Sangat – Episode 15

Like every other Pakistani drama that is on air nowadays, Sangat too has reached the point where it should be wrapped up in 2 or 3 episodes but we have been watching one filler episode after the other for the past few weeks. The only good thing about tonight’s episode was what Ayesha said to Adnan about Sangat not being an illegitimate child. I must say that what Adnan is going through right now could have been shown in a much better way if these outbursts did not include statements that are highly unpleasant to hear. Adnan loves Sangat and wishes she was his child. The way he treated Sangat when he was under the effect of alcohol clearly showed that he felt helpless and angry. He wanted this child to be his and cannot accept the fact that she isn’t his. He cannot take out his anger anywhere else therefore Ayesha is the one who has to face this entire situation alone. Adnan has kept the secret to himself which could mean that he will accept Sangat with all the history at some point.

Farah never has anything new to say. What she says is right but because it is being said over and over again in every episode therefore she sounds like a broken record. Ayesha’s mother’s concern and her lectures have never been appealing but lately they have been intolerable! There was a time when I thought that Sangat was a “drop everything and watch it” kind of a play but things have changed completely now. I feel the need to keep myself occupied with something else while I watch the show because otherwise it is almost impossible to sit through it.

sngt

Every single track has been given the screen time it needed, all the motives and character traits are well established therefore it is time to move the story forward. First we got to hear aunty Zubeida weigh the pros and cons of a nikkah in a Masjid and then the maulvi gave a long lecture about Salma’s dignity – not to mention the fact that while he did that the way he referred to her many times was not respectful at all. Nothing tangible came out of all these unnecessary scenes, well at least not in this episode. There was a lot of talking in this episode but not much came out of it. We have been listening to Shahwez wanting to do exactly what Ayesha wants him to do for the past so many episodes but no matter what he does to get away from crazy aunty Zubeida, he ends up with her!

This episode was a complete snooze-fest, the only two people who got the screen time needed to cover what was happening in their lives were Adnan and Ayesha. Other than that every other track needs to be wrapped up ASAP. I have fallen in and out of love with Farah’s character already because of the excessive screen time she gets and I have completely lost interest in Mr. clueless (Shahwez) and Miss. Desperate (Salma – of course!) Everyone who meets Shahwez falls in love with him – whether it is Salma, Adnan or Zubeida, enough of this fatal attraction – can we please move on!!

Do you think that Sangat is being stretched and we are watching one filler episode after the other? Do share your thoughts in the comments section.
