Lately, the residents of Defence Housing Authority (DHA) have filed a complaint over former national cricket team captain Shahid Afridi keeping animals at his house. Taking action on the complaints lodged by the local residents, the DHA administration got the animals removed from Shahid Afridi’s house. The authorities also said they had asked the former cricketer to remove other supplies for livestock from his house.

It is pertinent to mention here that Afridi had a lion at his house in 2018 as well. On a complaint by citizens, the Wildlife Department had launched an inquiry into it.

Managing Director of Mandviwalla Entertainment Nadeem Mandviwalla while sharing how he felt about the film being screened on the big screen in Pakistan said, “It is an iconic film and it has a lot of fanfare attached to it; plus, a lot of the people have not seen movie in cinemas as well.” He also said there were other films too which they wanted to import in Pakistan as well. The film Sholay is going to be one such film too.

“You need to look at these films differently. It would be wrong to have very high expectations from a film that is being re-released in Pakistan. You should not expect back-to-back full-houses and at the same time, you cannot market it like a regular film,” said  the film maker.

Well, taking to Instagram the Chhalawa actress announced her upcoming project which will air on Hum TV.

According to Galaxy Lollywood, the official title of the drama is not ‘Badzaat’ rather its title is ‘Phaans’. The drama serial has been penned down by Samina Ijaz and directed by Ahmed Kamran.

Along with Zara Noor Abbas, two talented stars Sami Khan and Shahzad Sheikh will be starring in Phaans.

This is the first time we will see Shahzad Sheikh in a completely different avatar and his role will be entirely different from his previous roles.

The cast of Phaans will also feature Arjumand Rahim, Kinza Malik, Yashma Gill and Ali Tahir.

The story of Phaans will be based on a societal issue which will be relatable for the audience. However, the social issue has not been disclosed yet. Many dramas by Hum TV have been based on societal issues like child marriage, rape, mental illness and many more.

Chakkar is an upcoming film which features Ahsan Khan, Neelum Muneer, Javed Sheikh and Yasir Nawaz. The film is produced by famous couple Nida and Yasir who have produced films like Wrong No. and Mehrunisa V Lub U.

In an interview with Dawn Images, the details about the upcoming film Chakkar were revealed.

Nida Yasir shared, “It’s a murder-mystery thriller, so we can’t really talk about the story or the characters. Giving even a small bit away would be giving away too much.”

“Film-wise the genre’s different than what Yasir has done in the past. What people forget is that he’s done serious projects on television. I think he will be an even better director this time around,” Nida shared.

Chakkar is not just a serious film but its script also has situational comedy. “People will really be caught in the twists and turns — the chakkars of the story,” she added.

Talented star Ahsan Khan also talked about the film and said, “The script and the characters in it are giving chakkars, my character isn’t. The story is full of loops but not loopholes, and the characters are refreshingly relatable.”

The 24-year-old Nobel Peace Prize laureate and Pakistani activist, Malala Yousafzai tied the knot on Tuesday with her long-time partner Asser Malik in a private Nikkah ceremony at Birmingham in the United Kingdom (UK). The activist shared pictures of her intimate wedding ceremony on her official social media handles.

For the ceremony, Malala wore a traditional ensemble by a well known Pakistani clothing brand “Zaaviay”. Malala’s Nikkah attire was from Zaaviay’s formal collection “Haniya”. The outfit worn by Malala is a breathtaking mauve coloured ensemble with detailed asymmetrical embroidery of kora, dabka and zari with maroon finishing composed elegantly, with tussle finishing on the neckline. There have been a lot of speculations about Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari’s wedding dress ever since she got married to Mahmood Choudhry last month. Recently designer Wardha Saleem was spotted in an interview with BBBC Urdu. “Neither did we use a gold wire nor did we put in diamonds on this dress,” said the designer Wardha Saleem, laughing as she spoke to BBC Urdu.

Wardha said that her brand uses the most decent designs for bridal dresses. She revealed that Bakhtawar’s bridal dress contained the most high-quality and decent material from local markets in Pakistan. “Bakhtawar’s chiffon was handmade locally. As a brand, we make use of the best local material [for bridal dresses] available in Pakistan,” she said.

When asked whether she felt nervous on designing the dress for Bakhtawar’s big day, she said it wasn’t true. “You can say we were excited and not under pressure,” adding that the team enjoyed working on the dress knowing how much confidence Bakhtawar had on their brand. Wardha referred to Bakhtawar as a “dream bride” for any brand, saying that in the very first few meetings held between the two to discuss the dress, Bakhtawar told them that she didn’t have any doubt on their capabilities.

“We did hold a few discussions on the customization of the dress,” she said. “However, Bakhtawar never interfered in our work. It took 45 craftsmen to work on Bakhtawar’s bridal dress, they spent a massive 7,000 hours in making the dress. The reason why this dress took so long is because it is handwoven and we used the finest material available. We worked on it for 7 months and for two to three months, we worked double 24 hour shifts,” she added.

Wardha mentioned that after one or two meetings, our approach was so strong that anything else wasn’t needed. “It often happens that when bridal dresses are being made, clients often ask their designers to send them pictures of the dress. However, I personally think this happens when clients do not trust their designers. I think another reason this happens is because everyone has dreams about his/her big day and they want everything to be perfect. However, Bakhtawar wasn’t like that at all and trusted us completely,” said Wardha.
