Dilnawaz is an upcoming drama by Najaf Bilgrami, starring Minal Khan, Neelum Munir and Wahaj Ali. The newly released OST of the drama hits right in the feels. It has an ethereal aura to it, lent by Alycia Dias. Neelum Munir looks very intense and the video and lyrics flow together in perfect harmony.
Watch the OST and it will definitely leave you waiting to watch the play itself;
When an iconic actress like Uzma Gillani says that she likes working with a certain actor then there cannot possibly be a bigger compliment than that. Many people do not know that Uzma Gillani fought Cancer for many years. She is now Cancer free and it is great to see her giving interviews on different forums. While giving an interview on Radio Azad she shared details about her fight with Cancer and many other things.
Uzma Gillani also shared the names of those lucky and talented actors who she loves working with. She said that when she is offered a project with these actors, she gets excited.
“You will be surprised to hear that I love working with young people. If I know that Faisal Qureshi or Faisal Rehman are in a drama I am a part of, I get really excited. Maria Wasti and Sania Saeed are also my favorite actors to work with.”
She also added,
“Once I called Sania and told her that while watching your drama, I felt like you are my extension. She started crying on the phone! Sania Saeed is an exceptional actor and so is Saba Qamar.”
All these actors are undoubtedly very talented and we would love to see them working with Uzma Gillani in the future too.
Taqi Ahmed recently got injured while shooting for his upcoming film. The news went viral on social media and whenever a news gets posted on social media, people post all kinds of comments. Taqi Ahmed is doing well now so he decided to share his views regarding the response the news of his accident got on social media. It looks like he is deeply hurt by some of the comments and at the same time he is grateful for all those fans who prayed for him and wished him well.
Taqi Ahmed probably made this video to share how these comments made him feel and perhaps to tell those people who made these comments off but he ended up getting emotional. In the end he wished well and send his love for all those people who said absurd things about him and even more love to those who were his well wishers.
Aima Baig is one of those very few singers who did not only grab everyone’s attention because of the quality of work they did but also someone who has given quite a few hit numbers in a short span of time. Not only this, she has also bagged awards at a very early stage in her career. Aima Baig’s solo songs like Befikriyan and Kalabaaz Dil were immensely popular.
While talking to MAG weekly Aima Baig shared her passion for music and singing,
“I have been singing since I was seven years old, I told my parents that I want to pursue this career but they were reluctant as nobody in my family is in this field. However, after much persuasion, they eventually agreed to it. This gave me the confidence to sing in college and university, where I would participate in similar co-curricular activities.”
Aima Baig looks up to Shiraz Uppal who has advised and helped her right from the beginning of her career. Talking about him, she said,
“I met Shiraz at his studio where he asked me to audition. Initially, I thought I was only supposed to give harmonies as a back-up singer, for there were other singers present to audition as well, but later found out that all the three songs in the movie are to be sung by me including solo tracks Befikriyan and Kalabaaz Dil, which I proudly call my songs all because of Shiraz’s belief in me.”
Aima Baig also said that she was expecting to get an award so early in her career but when she got the award the way she felt could not be described in words.
“I hadn’t prepared a speech and didn’t know what to say. Being nominated was more than enough for me. However, when I won it, I thanked God and wondered kuch tou acha kia hoga ya maa ki duayain kaam agayin. Then I thanked Shiraz for giving me a shot at playback singing.”
Aima Baig also shared,
“I am glad that I’m a singer and don’t have to pretend, because I’m not pretentious at all. I’m pretty straightforward and blunt. When I don’t like someone or something, I don’t act like I do.”
Talking about her personal life, Aima said,
“I used to be in a relationship. I am not going to say I have never had a boyfriend. However, right now I’m only committed to my work,” she discloses, adding, “I give all my time to my work because it never complains, never demands, unlike a boyfriend. It’s the best relationship I could be in.”
We love Aima Baig’s honestly and wish her all the best.
Ohkay so, with this episode of Yaar e Bewafa, the story took a completely different turn which was good & refreshing to see. Even though the episode was once again on the slower side but the progress in the story compensated a great deal for it. This drama might not give you a lot to talk about but the overall story & execution of the play is quite nice which makes it easier for the viewer to tune to it.
So, with Fizza out of the picture & the neighbor aunty finding it hard to take care of Humera, Zaid had to find someone who’d be able to do that. It was good that Zaid’s friend once again came up with the suitable idea that Zaid could hire someone to look after his mother. I liked how they showed that one thing lead to another because Zaid’s colleague heard about it & she immediately thought of Amna as shew knew that Amna was in dire need of a job that would pay her a decent amount to make the ends meet.
Amna obviously at first showed hesitation because she assumed that her husband wouldn’t allow her to do this job but upon her friend’s persistence, Amna decided to meet Zaid & his mother. Amna’s friend had a point that since Saleem didn’t want Amna to do a job at any such place that would have men around her, this one was the best opportunity that she was going to get. Zaid hired Amna without much hesitation because he knew that he couldn’t afford not to as he was already having a hard time managing his job & household chores on his own.
At first Humera gave Amna a hard time but Amna decided to open up a bit. I liked seeing their subtle bonding, especially over the mention of Amna’s son. I am sure it won’t be too long when Humera would want Amna to bring her son with her, since she already misses her grandson.
I must say I was riled at the way Saleem was treating Amna & how he was making it obvious to her that even if she is the one making money, he is still the head of the family & was still going to boss around her because he is the ‘husband’. It was absolutely heart-wrenching seeing Saleem not moving a muscle even after he knew that his son was hungry. It is ironic that at one hand Saleem expects Amna to do the heavy-lifting like any head of the family would, but on the other hand he reminds her every single time that she has no authority over anything, basically implying that she is a nobody!
Anyways, this episode of Yaar e Bewafa was pretty good. Even though the scenarios are simple, the way the emotions have been portrayed is brilliant. Sara Khan looks absolutely beautiful even in zero makeup, amusing but true that it seems Imran Abbas did the makeup on Sara Khan’s behalf as well because in some of the scenes his eye-shadow to his lipstick to his foundation, everything was screaming its presence on his face but apart from that, his acting compensates a great deal for the wrong foundation shade that in some scenes made him look green! Anyways, please share your thoughts about this episode of Yaar e Bewafa.
The famous youtuber Zaid Ali Tahir recently got married to Yumna and his marriage became a social media event as it was supposed to be. People were discussing his wife’s looks, the styling, the ceremony everything. Yumna has done a video with Zaid before and now for the first time the couple came infront of the camera and answered some questions about each other. From their first meeting to who wears the perfect dupatta, the couple answered all the questions candidly. Watch Yumna and Zaid in a video first time after getting married:
The couple will be making more videos together too as Zaid announced at the end. Fans will obviously look forward to it!
Ohkay so, this episode of Daldal took the story forward & showed how someone’s dream can force them to turn a blind eye to the one they love. This drama for sure is a decent watch & even though it doesn’t have that charm to draw viewer’s attention immediately, what they are showing is a true depiction of a certain class of society that dreams of settling abroad with preconceived notions in mind that all their problems will vanish the moment they will step outside Pakistan.
So, Shuja threw Hira out of the house & thought this will teach her a lesson, even though it did but it was good to see Kamran standing up for Hira because he could see that Shuja was at fault here. Kamran tried to knock sense into Shuja that by doing this, he was compromising on his family’s dignity but since Shuja only has his mind set on one mission, he didn’t think things through & thought that his irrational decision would yield him the results he is keen on. Kamran did what he could but he also understood that at that moment it was better for Hira to go to her mother’s place. It is good to see that at least after Sadiq, there’s Kamran in the family who is not only rational & sane but mature enough to understand the intricacies of all the relationships. Another appreciable quality of Kamran is that he knows the difference between right & wrong, exactly like his father.
Hira obviously tried to convince her mother but Shaheen didn’t budge. Shaheen can not see her daughter suffering without her husband just the way she did but right now, Hira is unable to understand that. Even though Hira did tell Sakina that despite having everything she never saw her mother happy as she longed for her husband’s presence but when it came to her, Hira ended up expecting her mother to do what Shuja demanded. Right now, Hira’s top most priority is to save her marriage & she knows that this is the only option because Shuja already showed Hira what he is capable of. Just upon hearing Shaheen’s opinion, he threw Hira out of the house so Hira obviously is well aware of the extent he can go to!
Hira came back & tried to do everything to convince Shuja that she supports his decision & that she will do everything to make sure that he gets what he wants. Shuja really has scored a big win in the form of Hira because she is not only submissive but is madly in love with him. Shuja’s change of behavior after hearing what he wanted to from Hira was so ironic yet realistic. Another thing that I found was a depiction of reality was how Sakina kept on brain-feeding Shuja against Shaheen & Hira. People might find it odd that a sister was wishing ill for her sister but this is something that happens in real life too where aunts don’t let their sons have a peaceful marital life with their nieces & in Sakina’s case, since she is suffering from inferiority complex, she now feels empowered that she has her sister’s Achilles heel, her daughter in her possession, therefore she plans on using it to her benefit!
Saniya is also going through a tough time because she is not too happy about her father’s work ethics & also feels burdened when she sees her mother talking about some rich guy that she’d want Saniya to get married to. Saniya knows that her family will never approve of her & Kamran’s marriage but since Saniya is someone who knows how to take a stand for herself, it is a done deal that she will fight for her right & will end up convincing her parents.
Overall, this episode of Daldal was decent. I know the characters of Puphos are quite OTT but I somehow see them as a comic yet realistic portrayal of such relatives, therefore I enjoy their bits. Even though both of them are meddlesome & have a hard time minding their own business but this time around they stood up for Hira & at least conveyed the entire scenario to the right person; Sadiq, because he would make sure that Shuja never does what he did ever again. All the actors are doing a great job, however in this episode Muneeb Butt stood out the most. His acting was not only convincing but effortless as well especially in the scene where he had a spat with Shuja for Hira’s sake. Zahid Ahmed seems to be emoting a bit too much & even his dialogue delivery sounds fake as if he is chewing his words & having a hard time in saying what he wants to say. I hope in the episodes to come, Zahid Ahmed tones his acting down a bit. Armeena Rana Khan is convincing as Hira & I find her acting perfect too, there’s a very small margin for her to perform since the character of Hira is very subtle & shy but still Armeena has done a great job. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Daldal.
“There was not a single day of Hajj when I did not miss Jaunid bhai.”
Juanid Jamshed is never far from memories and conversations in Pakistan. He was an enigma in his own self and not easily forgotten by anyone who came across him.
In yesterday’s show, Sanam Baloch invited Waseem Badami and Dua Malik as they had been to Hajj this year and she wanted to talk about their experiences and feelings on return from the scared journey. At one point, Sanam asked Waseem Badami about Junaid Jamshed. That caused him to break down in tears and he told how there was never a single day during Hajj when he did not miss the man who was like an elder brother to him. He said he kept on wishing he had come last year with Junaid bhai himself or that he was still alive so they could have gone together.
He also told how he is reminded of Junaid Jamshed everytime he thinks of him by something or someone who is related to the late scholar. It is like a signal that he is still with him, in one way or the other.
Baaghi’s story has finally taken off with Fauzia Batool starting the new journey of a life she dreamed of for a really long time and one she is so willing to live! The fact that she barely paused to think about what she had left behind went to show that Fauzia’s ambition came before everything else – she didn’t even let the thoughts of her child, who she clearly loved, derail her. This episode was executed well with the exception of the timeline which was yet again confusing and some details which were not covered. So far the impressive performances by all the actors involved have to be the best aspect of Baaghi. Just like every other episode of Baaghi Saba Qamar’s effortless portrayal of a girl who was doing everything she could to play the role she had “rehearsed for” and waited for, for years now, was faultless. The manner in which her etiquette changed the second she entered the office which she felt was going to be the place which will alter her life forever was the first scene which showed that she was more than ready to fit into this new environment. The coffee scene was amusing and what followed later on was entertaining but somewhat rushed as well.
This episode opened with Fauzia trying to convince Abid to let her go to the city to avail the modeling opportunity. She however wasn’t going to hear no for an answer. The way Fauzia continuously asked Abid for a divorce even before this showed that she wanted this relationship to end. The fact that this job offer came after Fauzia found out about Abid’s affair is also another reason why she does not feel the need to invest more time and energy into this marriage. While it is good to see a woman who knows that she deserves better and that she shouldn’t be forced to live with a husband who is abusive and is cheating on her, Fauzia is definitely not someone who thinks things through when it comes to pursuing her dream. The fact that she does not let anyone or anything stand in her way is her greatest strength and it is also her biggest weakness! Firstly, she blindly trusted Abid and took a stand to get married to him only because he promised that he will help her make her dreams come true. Then, she went ahead and trusted all these people in a completely new place solely because they are helping her start a career in showbiz. Fauzia has been shown as a strong headed girl with tons of confidence who is more naive than anything else.
Overall, this episode of Baaghi was fast-paced and entertaining. There were however some developments which seemed rushed and some scenes could have been added to fill in a few gaps between the scenes which effected continuity. For example one minute Fauzia was standing in Abid’s house and crying and the other moment she was in the bus travelling to the city. Also, her reaction after her makeover should have been covered since this was a major change in her outlook and could be shown as the first time when she realized that she was nearer to her dreams today than she ever was. Also, why is Fauzia’s brother completely out of the picture?
Apart from Saba Qamar, Ali Kazmi and Saba Faisal have given outstanding performances throughout. Seemi Raheel and Irfan Khoosat are also Phenomenal actors who nail every role assigned to them. All these actors look and act the roles they are playing which makes their characters easy to connect to. The impressive performances have definitely elevated the level of this drama.
I am waiting to find out what Fauzia’s new “mentor” wants in return for all the favors he is doing for her since polishing and grooming a girl like Fauzia seems like more of an investment than anything else. Also, I hope that Fauzia’s journey is covered in more detail and not the way the few days (or perhaps one??) of her new life were covered in this episode.
How many of you watched this episode? Do share your thoughts about it.
Ohkay so, with this episode of Teri Raza, the story made quite a lot of progress but I am not too convinced with how things rolled. I feel the characters have been written with such clumsiness that you just can not form a definite opinion about them. Apart from Imtiyaz, every other character behaves irrationally especially the main lead Suhana, which makes it impossible for you to like anything about her.
I must say Talat should pat herself on her back after what she has done. Rameez had Suhana out of his sight, out of his mind but just because Talat instigated the entire scenario, Suhana got the chance to tell him that he still means so much to her & after that Rameez was thinking about Suhana too. It is amusing that Talat keeps on saying that she feels tensed ever since Suhana has gotten married because according to her Suhana is doing everything to ruin her marriage but then I guess someone needs to give her a reality check that it is not Suhana but Talat herself who makes sure to do everything which will drift Suhana & Imtiyaz apart. This woman is a piece of work I swear & I just can not stand her as a motherly character because she is an insult to all the mothers out there!
Imtiyaz has done so much for Suhana & her consistency at finding faults in him or his gestures is praiseworthy. I found it amusing that Suhana started off by saying she wants to do a job & then told everyone that she wants to own a business. I was waiting for her to show up her forlorn face & felt relieved when she did because it wouldn’t be Suhana without her typical roni shakal. It is amusing that Suhana could use her husband’s money to finance her business but she didn’t appreciate his effort with which he made it possible for her to get the model to showcase her dress? Suhana is like that spoiled brat who wants everyone to do everything that she wants but for others she would never budge because hey, she’s spoiled & that’s all there’s to her personality!
Let’s talk about the most awkward scenario in the history of Pakistani dramas – yes, I am talking about Paa Mmtyaz’s BUDDAY scene. Seriously, after Suhana was done confessing her feelings to Rameez for like a millionth time, after eavesdropping like a typical aunty, she remembered she had a husband to attend to as well, therefore she arranged a birthday surprise for him to keep everything smooth & running in her life. I mean it is sickening but seeing Suhana taking care of both her marital life & then her long-died affair made me uncomfortable. This girl needs to learn about a thing called transperancy but oh well, like everyone said, she lives in her own bubble!
I know I am not a fan of Jeena’s character but she for once made sense & did the right thing by knocking some sense into Suhana as well. It is amusing that Suhana claimed Imtiyaz loves her therefore he would never cheat on her, while completely forgetting how she takes him for granted & how she is still cheating on him by having Rameez in her heart. Like Suhana grew uncomfortable the moment Jeena tried to tell her that Seema seems far too comfortable with Imtiyaz but she never for once thought about how she was treating her husband. Suhana is like that immature child who doesn’t know how to own her mistakes & she thinks everything is just perfect because she turns a blind eye to her wrongdoings!
I must say, Seema needs to find a hobby for herself because her availability for Imtiyaz even at the late hours is a joke. Seema seems far more concerned for Imtiyaz as if in stead of Suhana, she is married to Imtiyaz. Seema is another insane character in this insane lot because even she is still stuck on the fact that Suhana tried to get her & Imtiyaz hitched but now when it hasn’t happened, she still feels she has some kind of authority over Imtiyaz. The showdown between the two ladies over Imtiyaz was quite funny. I wonder why every-time Seema’s car breaks down or every-time she has an emergency, she chooses Imtiyaz to play the role of her chauffeur. Anyways, looks like both Imtiyaz & Suhana are expecting a child & Daadi is still going to survive to see her great grandchild’s Rukhsati too, since this is how her heart works!
I know Sanam Baloch gives her 100% to her characters & it is good to see her dedication but literally not keeping a track of sweaty upper-lip or sliva in her mouth is a bit too much. Talat’s character & Shaheen Khan’s acting, both are out of order. I found it amusing how Talat was trying to ignore what Seema was trying to say about Suhana & her weird approach towards her marriage, not that it is Seema’s business but still she had a point. I think in stead of blaming Suhana for her immaturity, Talat should blame herself for a faulty upbringing but I love how every single character in this drama doesn’t believe in owning their mistakes & that is the reason why Talat is so aloof to how she has raised a little monster called Suhana! Anyways, please share your thoughts about this all-over-the-place episode of Teri Raza & oh can I take a moment to talk about the precap of next episode? Suhana crying buckets over Jeena & Rameez’s engagement & trying to prove something by saying that Jeena didn’t care for Rameez as much as she did when he went missing, like seriously? A pregnant married woman crying over her ex-boyfriend’s engagement with her class-fellow is beyond ridiculous!
FPW this year had a few distnictive features from last years. It had a new board this time, with Deepak Parwani as the chairperson and Feri Rawanian as the CEO. The venue had also changed from Pearl Continental to Global Marquee near FTC. The lineup was powerful but bridals soon took over the runway and they were not very impressive either. Here are pictures of some of them that did not appeal at all;
This one by Sana Yasir could have done better, if the hues and shade were not this monotonous.
The sleeves and colour and the kurti, nothing really sits right in this Obaid Sheikh ensemble.
This one by Erum Khan does not impress at all.
This one by Saira Rizwan is strictly ok but nothing spectacular.
This one by Aamna Aqeel could have done much better without the shawl.
Misha Lakhani has done a good job in keeping it simple yet beautiful.
Bilal Ashraf took the film industry with his portrayal of Asfandyar Khan last year in the hit movie Janaan. The film is still playing a good luck charm for him as it bagged him the first award of his career.
Pakistan Music and Media Awards were held yesterday in Birmingham. Bilal went on to get his first award at the ceremony. Janaan has recently completed its one year from release, the female lead Armeena Rana Khan also posted a throwback for one year anniversary of Janaan and now Bilal has just won an award making his fans appreciate him even more. Janaan also won the award for Best film.
Iqra Aziz and Affan Waheed are starring together in drama Khamoshi to be aired on HUM TV. The cast also includes Bilal Khan and Zara Noor Abbas. So Zara left everyone confused on social media when she posted a congratulations to Iqra and Affan on getting engaged. See her post:
Some people took it as a promotion for the upcoming play but soon many platforms tagged the celebs and started congratulating them. Affan Waheed is already married and this caused an uproar in comments section with some calling out this as a fake news while others claimed that Affan is divorced and though the shot in Zara’s post is from their drama but the couple is engaged. There is no word on this controversy from either Affan or Iqra.
Things will only clear out when any of the two involved will give a statement!
These were much awaited episodes of this play because they were advertised last week too but did not air due to 6th September. The drama has not picked up much pace. The episode was borderline boring because some scenes and dialogues were repeated and exaggerated, and all this could have been wrapped up in one episode as well.
The story these two hours was mostly about Amber and Anum. Iqra has more or less surrendered to her faith and gotten divorce from her husband, which made her sad but she understands well that he did not leave another choice for her. So the situation this time was mainly about other two sisters. Anum is torn between her feelings for Dr Jawad and her principles of not wanting to be a second wife, since there own lives were an example of how second wives ruin the lives of first wife and her kids. I am really looking forward to how this issue wraps up in the drama and how they conclude this element about second marriages. Right now, Amber is coming into the feeling of unhappiness that Dr Jawad is showing by telling her the details of how his first wife is least bothered about him in every way and is only concerned about the facilities that he can provide for her. He is painiting a very ugly picture of her and it remains to be seen if that is true or is it just because he wants to re marry that he is finding faults with his wife. Taifoor Khan is trying his hardest but is failing to ignite any spark in his role. He is doing a strictly okay job, nothing more.
Anum and Ahsan are getting quite close and she is one of the main reasons he wants to turn over a new leaf and improve his life. It is a bit unusual to see a child brought up in such circumstances would be so sensitive and thoughtful about the woman and her kids that his mother can targeted in order to fulfill her selfish desires. Anum was right in pointing him out as a very extraordinary guy. The actor playing the role fits well and is doing a good job for an amateur. Saboor Aly, however is certainly grooming her acting skills with each and every episode. She and Mariam Ansari were very natural in their cat fights today, both of them doing justice to their respective roles perfectly. Saboor was as annoying as she was being shown and Mariam was also good in acting out someone who wants one thing and hates herself for wanting it as well. She was in an ugly state of mind and her expressions and body language all translated that beautifully.
Naheed was her usual brilliant self again. Saima Noor was very good in showing how she can understand what is in her daughters’ heart without many spoken words. She very sensibly understood the subtle signs of likeness Amber is showing towards Dr Jawad and got the meaning behind the fact that she had not told her of Dr Jawad’s first wife.
Anila and her sons are still the same story. Ahmed is still adamant on getting the very girl whose parents refused his proposal many times. He is more like a street thug than anything else. Obaid is also the same and Sadiq is now getting the punishments which he once thought would be the greatest rewards to him.
Stay tuned for the next episode since it seems that finally Naheed and Sadiq will come face to face in it.
Ohkay so, it was yet another amazing episode of Yakeen Ka Safar. Finally it is so good to see the story picking up the momentum after so many weeks. I like the fact that the developments are being made on a smaller scale because by the end of the episode, they add up to a proper change in the scenario, which is an intelligent way of story-telling.
Zubiya has become a friend to everyone, a confidant that everyone feels comfortable around. Zubiya never would’ve thought that a happy-go-lucky Dr. Haroon was carrying such a big sorrow in his heart. It is good that despite being in a small town, Zubiya is getting to meet all sorts of people with all sorts of life experiences as it helps her in broadening her vision & getting to understand life better. At one point Zubiya thought that her life stopped but now when she gets to interact with everyone, she understands that life never stops & everyone gets through the biggest of ordeals. Even though Zubiya is doing really well for herself ever since she has locked her past where it doesn’t harm her anymore but the fact that she still is conscious about her image goes to show that she still feels burdened by it. Anyhow, it is good to see Zubiya at a happy place & being victorious over her past.
Zubiya has finally started to bring the change in Kharjista’s life that she hoped for. Just by treating her mother in law with love & respect, Zubiya has now started to steer her thoughts in Kharjista’s favor because she wants her to realize that Kharjista is not an emotionless puppet, in fact she is a human being with heart & feelings. I loved the scene where Kharjista’s mother in law called Kharjista her ‘beti’, it finally showed that she has accepted her & will now keep the promise she made to Zubiya.
I had a good time watching all the doctors coming together for a meal, obviously when you’re in such an isolated place, you get to hang out with your colleagues too. It was amusing how Dr. Shehroz spoke about the mountains that were moved during their medical camp, even though Asfand didn’t get it but Dr. Shehroz could already see the difference in his attitude & he indirectly hinted that it was because of Dr. Zubiya. At this stage, I am loving the balance they are showing between everyone’s personal & professional life, there’s this harmony in every scenario & it is working really well!
So, Dr. Asfand has finally started to think about Dr. Zubiya, like he has not only eased around her but has begun to pay attention to her too & because of that, he has started to realize that he was actually quite harsh on her. The best part about it is that Zubiya never really consciously made an effort to change Asfand’s opinion about her but just by her demeanour & conduct, she made it happen. Asfand has also seen her treating his family with respect, so it gives him all the more reason to take her seriously & consider her as his potential life partner.
The chemistry between Zubiya & Asfand is undeniable & it has been portrayed so beautifully. Asfand didn’t actually realize that he gave words to his feelings so casually in front of Zubiya & later when he thought about it, he got conscious & that is why he ignored her completely the next day. I found it actually quite interesting how Zubiya felt bad when Asfand ignored her, it was like she did register what Asfand said to her. Usman also thinks Zubiya is the right person for Asfand & that is why he told his wife to contact Mahjabeen. I am sure when Gaiti will find out about it, she will do everything to convince Asfand. I am loving Gaiti & Zubiya’s friendship too, they both have become such good friends in such a short span of time & since it was Zubiya, it made it easier for Gaiti to revisit her past & tell her everything about Daniyal & even Faryal.
I loved watching this episode of Yakeen Ka Safar, it had a perfect blend of emotions which worked beautifully. Everything is being portrayed quite realistically & it is good to see Zubiya’s character shining through especially, she really has come a long way & it is good to see her journey. I enjoyed Rehan & Sheema’s scene for the first time too, even though Rehan isn’t going all out on his wife but his subtle warnings are enough to show that he is on his way to redemption. I am sure it won’t be too long till he finds Zubiya & apologizes for what he has done. Sajal Ali & Ahad Raza Mir are at their best & it is a treat to watch them together. Really looking forward to their love story now & oh just when I was happy & had a smile on my face, seeing Faryal in the preview was enough to wipe that off. I am sure now Asfand will get quite a lot of chances to compare Zubiya & Faryal & that will definitely help him in making up his mind. Mani is a perfect choice for Dr. Haroon’s character & I can’t praise his acting enough & Hira is playing her part really really well too. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Yakeen Ka Safar.

Lala Begum is a short film directed by Mehreen Jabbar. The film has won a lot of critical acclaim from the day it came out. The cast includes Marina Khan, Sonia Rehman and Humayun Saeed. The story of the film revolves around the relationship between two sisters who meet after a long time. The screenplay of the film is written by Muhammad Ahmed.
The film has bagged another honour for Pakistani cinema as it won the award for best screenplay at the 6th Annual Washington DC Asian Film Festival (DCSAFF). DCSAFF is a very prestigious cultural event held in Washington and the win has undoubtedly brought more good name for Pakistani cinema.
Sanam Baloch is one of those few actresses of today, who are still very natural in their outlook. No elaborate hairdos, hair extensions, nose jobs, pouty lips or extreme contouring. Just a normal girl blessed with very good looks. And that is exactly how Sanam was looking all dressed up for her cousin’s wedding. Wearing a light pink short shirt adorned with gota work and paired with a very modern yet desi frilly pants, loose natural hair and light pink makeup, Sanam looks absolutely stunning;
The very handsome and very versatile Humayun Saeed is now more popular than ever because of his super hit ”Punjab Nahi Jaungi”. The star is become increasingly famous not only due to his unconventional and lovable portrayal of Fawad Khagga, but also due to the extensive publicity campaign that started in the wake of movie’s release and continuing since then.
There was a stir in the Deira City Center Dubai yesterday as mesmerized fans saw hero of the very movie they were watching amongst themselves. He spoke to his fans, watched ”Punjab Nahi Jaungi” with them and obligingly participated in the rounds and rounds of selfies that took place in the cinema. Excited fans encircled Humayun and appreciated his role in the movie and his presence among themselves.
In every entertainment industry there are few couples who always get the audience excited whenever news of their working together comes out. We also have Fawad Khan and Mahira Khan, Humayun Saeed and Mehwish Hayat and Urwa Hocane and Farhan Saeed. But a fresh pairing can always make a project even more exciting for the audience. Here are some pairings which we would like to see on screen:
Shaan Shahid and Saba Qamar:
Both names when attached to a project make it worth a watch. Both these actors are ruling in their crafts and seeing them together on screen will be no less than a treat. Shaan has been proving his talent for about 30 years now and Saba has proved her mettle again again too making her the actress who is loved more for her acting than mere looks. They will no doubt set the screen on fire.
Mehwish Hayat and Hamza Ali Abbasi:
Mehwish is seen repeatedly with Humayun Saeed and we love the pair too but I think its time that we see her with some other actor because Dillagi and Punjab Nahin Jaongi back to back are enough. Hamza was last seen in Mann Mayal and the character was so boring with no rational thoughts or volume to it. It would be nice to see them both together in a big project. They worked together in JPNA where Mehwish was Hamza’s bhabi and we would love to see them as miyan biwi rather than devar bhabi when they work again.
Fahad Mustafa and Mahira Khan:
Both Fahad and Mahira have moved completely towards movies for quite sometime now. Recently even Mahira replied to Fahad’s bajee by saying she has to play Fahad’s sister in some movie but we would love to see both the actors staring opposite each other rather than bringing sibling love to the screens. It would be an interesting pair to watch for.
Bilal Ashraf and Kubra Khan:
Bilal and Kubra both have taken the industry by storm in a very short period of time. It was they came, they looked and they conquered scenario for both of them. Since we have not seen Bilal on television the pair might work in a film together. Kubra is ruling the dramas and her big project Parwaaz Hai Junoon is also in last stages. With both the stars making people notice them, it would be a package to watch if they work together.
Shehryar Munawar and Armeena Khan:
Imagine both these actors in a romantic comedy. They will definitely compliment each other and can make a film work with their charm. Shehryar has the chocolate boy image attached to him and Armeena can make a cute heroine any day. Both of them in a light hearted comedy will be undoubtedly loved by the audience.
Zahid Ahmed and Sanam Saeed:
Sanam and Zahid both are very versatile. They have done a range of characters ranging from innocent becharay to psychotic and they fit every role with sheer ease. They make every role look alive with the way they perform. They will definitely give a lot of competition to each other too if they work together. The pair can be incredible for an action movie or a thriller and can do equal justice to an intense drama too. People will fall in love if both these actors come together for a strong project.
Imran Abbas Naqvi and Ushna Shah:
Imagine Imran in a character like that of Akbari Asghari opposite Ushna Shah. It will make the audience look forward to it hands down. Ushna has proved her potential with her role of Reena Begum that she is a face to look forward too. Imran has been seen in many love stories recently and watching him doing a different role would be good for his fans. Plus they can bring great chemistry on screen with Ushna performing somewhat loud character balanced by Imran’s subtlety.
This is the list of actors and actresses whom I would like to see working opposite each other. Who else do you think should be included in the list and which pair you would want to see on screen creating magic? Share your thoughts in the comments section!
Sarah Khan and Agha Ali recently got engaged. Everyone wants to know more about them and especially why they fell in love with each other. They are being seen together in number of shows and for a change it is good to see them talking about each other as well as their relationship.
Sarah Khan and Agha Ali were invited as guests on Good Morning Pakistan. Sarah Khan talked about those good qualities of Agha Ali which attracted her towards him. She said,
“He is very responsible. Unlike other men, he does not only concentrate on his own work but also looks after the house and family although many people think he is not responsible but that is not the case.”
Sarah Khan also said that Agha Ali will stay a mystery for people who don’t know him very well. She said,
“He might come across as someone with an attitude to a person who does not know him very well but once you get to know him he is totally opposite to that. He gives everyone so much respect. It is so wrong that some people judge others and pass comments about them without getting to know them.”
The next aspect of Agha Ali’s personality which Sarah revealed was the best one. She said,
“He never lies. He is so truthful that he does not even tell small lies. He is very honest.”
Sarah Khan surely told the viewers some brand new things about Agha Ali.
Muniba Mazari is always an epitome of strength, grit and determination in the face of harshest realities of life. One hearing of her story and one look at her beaming smile will make your forget moaning about the petty troubles of everyday life.
It seems that celebrities along with common men take immense inspiration from the beautiful girl who has the courage to smile despite having been through one of the worst tragedies that can happen in human existence.
Recently, she was present at VUAE’17 and impressed the audience with her sheer power of will. Among those inflicted by her infectious enthusiasm are the handsome Bollywood heroes Vivek Oberoi and Anil Kapoor. Muniba shared pictures of herself with them and look at what they had to say about her in return.
And they are so very right. Muniba Mazari is certainly an exceptional human being, shining so bright in such extra ordinary circumstances.
Ohkay so, this episode of Alif Allah Aur Insaan didn’t bring much to the table apart from an introduction to a couple of new scenarios. I am sure the new characters are going to contribute to the story but somehow seeing the lack of development in the tracks of original characters is making me feel that the pace of the drama has been compromised upon & all of a sudden, everything has started to look so stagnant, which I hope changes soon!
So, Nazneen hasn’t moved on & since she has made it clear to Shahzeb that she is not going to give him a chance, she is making it even more obvious, which obviously puts Shahzeb in an awkward positions especially in front of his mother. I am not too sure if the never ending flashback scene of Nazneen or Basit was required or did anything for the viewers. Usually when the drama-makers start relying a bit too much on the flashbacks, that’s when you know the pace of the drama is going to become slow & the story is going to become stagnant.
Well, since Basit is quite desperate & he wants to do everything to provide for his family, he took a job at Shahzeb’s, despite knowing that he is Nazneen’s husband. I would like to believe that Basit took this job only for the sake of his family as he was burdened with their responsibility but you never know, may be is looking for a chance to see Nazneen again? I am not too sure why Shahzeb had a hard time recognizing Basit & why did he ask Nazneen if she knew Basit because when he & Nazneen got engaged, Basit was the one who was in-charge of the entire function & even after their engagement when Nazneen went to meet Shahzeb to tell him that she wants to go to the city to pursue her education, Basit was with her & he met Shahzeb first. I think it would’ve been more appropriate if Shahzeb had told Nazneen that your servant’s son Basit has been appointed to do the artwork of the Masjid. Just a small detail but yes, it did seem like a glitch.
Well Zimal’s character seems nice. She is a happy go lucky sort of a girl, engaged to be married to her cousin & looks like she & her fiancée Ali both believe in giving each other a lot of space because they both trust each other. Zimal is passionate about what she does & she shares a strong bond with her mother in law to-be. I am sure Zimal’s track will be interesting & she might contribute to the story a great deal too but usually viewers have a hard time relating to the characters that are introduced at such later stages of the drama because after spending 20+ weeks, viewers are usually interested in seeing the closures of the original tracks. Even though I don’t have any preconceived notions about Zimal’s character & have no issues with her so far but at this stage of the drama, I am not too sure if I will be interested in seeing a new beginning altogether as usually such twists do make you feel that the story has deviated from its main purpose & things are being dragged. Zimal shares a cordial relation with all her friends but looks like Shaheer is interested in her, we’ll have to see how things go henceforth!
Well, since Nawazish Ali has invested in Reena Begum so much, he expects her to do much more for him in return but Reena is interested in getting married to him & Nawazish doesn’t seem to be into the idea of a lifelong commitment. For Nawazish Ali, Reena is more like a flavor of the month & unfortunately, Reena is unable to see that. I am not too sure if Ustad Chandu deserved so much of screen-time because to be honest, I had a hard time feeling anything for him. I mean I might’ve taken him seriously but his wig made it hard for me. Yes, we all know that Reena has hurt a lot of people till date & it will come back to her but despite a few meaningful dialogues, Ustad Chandu & Chaman Begum’s scene seemed far too stretched.
For the first time I am having a hard time making up my mind about this episode of Alif Allah Aur Insaan, like I am unable to figure out whether I liked this episode or not but yes, I did struggle hard in keeping my interest intact in the episode as all of a sudden I felt the story was all over the place. Shammo’s character has been heavily compromised upon as well & it is sad to see him gracing the screen for a couple of scenes which again seem like fillers. I am not too sure what will change when Reena will come across Shammo once again, let’s hope this time around, after her heart-break, Shammo is finally able to convince her to leave this world, at least that would make Shammo a hero once again which I would love to see! Anyways, please share your thoughts about this episode of Alif Allah Aur Insaan.
The city of Lahore is known for its vibrant lifestyle and culture which is why any person who has lived in Lahore misses it no matter which corner of the world they move to. Nadia Jamil who is a true Lahori is nowadays in Cambridge. She is really enjoying the fact that she can be as independent in Cambridge as she wants without being noticed unnecessarily but she misses so many things about Lahore.
Here are some of her tweets which show that Nadia Jamil cannot wait to get back to Lahore!
Cricket comes home! Yes the possibility of International cricket increased four folds after International players came to Pakistan in the team Peshawar Zalmi. And finally we have first International match as world XI arrived in Pakistan. First match of Azaadi Cup was played yesterday and how the guest team arrived in stadium? Yes in rickshaws. Now this is how you promote your culture. A rickshaw stopped midway in the ground too but Darren Sammy sure knows how these work since he got down and started pushing it making the rickshaw start again. Here see the colourful rickshaws bringing the guest team to stadium:
The day ended in a positive note too since we won the first match against World XI. The score card was more than exciting too as we scored big at home ground:
We wish International cricket starts soon in Pakistan and gives opportunity to all crazy fans to witness their stars live!

Sanam Jung talks about her married life all the time on her morning show but this is the first time that she talked about the reason why getting married to an actor was never an option for her. When one of her guests asked her that if she did not fall in love with Qassam then was it possible that she ended up getting married to an actor? To this Sanam replied,
“I have known Qassam and have liked him ever since I was a VJ therefore I could never think about getting married to anyone else. He was the only man I imagined spending the rest of my life with.”
She also said,
“Even if Qassam was never part of my life, I would never have married an actor because I can’t tolerate my husband sharing screen space with different heroines and telling so many women on screen that he loves them!”
Hina Altaf was invited as a guest in Jago Pakistan Jago and she candidly talked about the qualities she wants in her future husband. However, Hina Altaf made it clear that she is career oriented and has no plans of getting married anytime soon. She also revealed,
“I have been getting proposals for marriage ever since I was in grade 10. Even my tuition teacher sent a proposal for me. I found that really annoying because I have always been career oriented.”
When Sanam asked her what qualities Hina wanted in her future husband. Hina was very frank and honest about it.
“My future husband should be juro ka ghulam, someone who listens to every single thing I tell him.”
She also said that she didn’t want to marry someone with a colorful personality but a man who was a little bit shy. The reason she gave was,
“A shy person will be easy to control while a man with a colorful personality would be hard to control. I don’t want to waste all my energy controlling my man, I would much rather put that energy into my work!”
All of Hina Altaf’s choices were surprising, she said that she did not want to marry a tall, dark and handsome man but she wanted to marry someone with average looks. At the same time she also said that she will turn that average looking man into a really dashing personality! Hina Altaf also said,
“I would never want to marry an actor because the timings in this profession are so tiring, I wouldn’t want two people in the same house who are tired all the time!”
Hadiqa Kiani has just dropped her album Wajd which was filled were beautiful sufi rendition. The songs as well as the videos were simply perfection. After remaining busy with that, Hadiqa is off for a vacation and is spending some quality time with her son. They did hiking and visited the Natural History Museum of LA too. Here are some fun pictures of mother-son duo from their holiday:
Aiman Khan‘s popularity is increasing everyday especially among the youngsters. She is giving some very good performances in her recent dramas and has been modelling for many brands. Recently the diva has done a photoshoot for the People’s magazine and she looks fabulous in a relaxed ripped washed blue jeans and a light dusty pink loose sweatshirt with white sneakers. Her makeup is minimal and hair curled and cascading down her shoulders.
Good Morning Pakistan is not known for a lot of original themes and ideas but yesterday’s episode was simply cuteness overload. It was all about celebrities and their precious little princesses. Their were four starlets and each had her baby girl with her and they were all dressed in peaches and pinks and golds and flowers.
Guests included Fiza Ali and her little one Faryal, Sadia Imam and her girl Meerab, Samar and her toddler Pareeshay and Abeer Javed and her little one Mina. The atmosphere was very girly with games and toys fit for their little years. There were a lot of tantrums thrown by the younger divas and a lot of portion of the show was spent sorting out the continuously ensuing fights but all in all it was treat for all little girls’ lovers.
Mikaal Zulfiqar is one of those celebrities who despite of being associated with the showbiz industry for a long time, don’t reveal a lot about their personal life in interviews. Even on social media he hardly ever posts something relating to his personal life unless it is really important. Like many other celebrities nowadays Mikaal Zulfiqar is also out of country. Nowadays he is in London, spending quality time with his brother who is also a talented actor, singer and even a dancer.
Mikaal Zulfiqar posted his feelings about his younger brother along with this photograph.
“So proud of my brother. He’s working with the biggest and best names in theatre in the UK and elsewhere too. An extremely talented actor, singer and dancer. He like me has worked hard to be where he is. Another example of how hard work, dedication, perseverance and love for what you do. Eventually pays……. Super proud of what you are doing and your dedication and focus.”
It is great to see these two hardworking and talented brothers bonding and spending time together.

I strongly believe that we simply cannot have enough dramas which highlight social issues and cause awareness among the masses regarding those evil practices which are rampant in some areas of our country and are accepted as normal. When such practices are so common and are endorsed by the community then sometimes the line between what’s right and what’s wrong gets blurred. This is the exactly the reason why mainstream media can play a major role in reminding the public that no matter how widely rampant an unjust practice is, it cannot possibly be accepted as the right course of action. Also, most importantly people like us who are fortunate enough to live in an environment which is completely different from the one shown in these dramas, get an insight into the problems faced by people (in this case especially women) who are living under such circumstances. Since dramas do not only give information but also have a story to tell therefore the viewers find it easier to relate to the sufferings of the characters. It is great to see our writers, directors, actors, producers and channels taking this initiative with the help of NGOs which are already doing a great deal to help the victims.
This first episode of Mujhe Jeenay Do started with a wedding and ended with a funeral. In between the viewers were introduced to the main characters and tracks. Just like drama serial Sammi, this one too does not deal solely with one issue. Although the main subject of the drama is child marriage but different tracks in the story represent the struggles of women and even children on a different level. Malik Shehbaz represents the feudal system and how these feudals exercise power over their “subjects”. Shaheena (Mehreen Raheal) symbolizes all those women who are constantly abused by their husbands both physically and mentally but they always go back to them because they have accepted the treatment meted out to them as their fate. Bushra represented one of those women who do not get proper access to the kind of medical care needed at the time of pregnancy and as a result end up losing their lives. Even though Naseeb (Goher Rasheed) loved his wife and did whatever he thought he needed to do to look after her, he wasn’t informed enough to know that Bushra needed medical help from a professional. Bushra’s father (Salman Shahid) dialogues when he was talking to the midwife showed that taking women to the hospital wasn’t considered as a normal practice. Bushra was taken to the hospital only when it was too late and there was no other choice. Muhammadu (Sarmad Sultan Khoosat) and Murad (Ali Tahir) represent those men who are convinced that women are their property and they can treat them any way they want.
This episode also showed how most women living in such areas fail to look after themselves. This first episode clearly gave the message that it was vital for women to take care of their own health and also protect themselves. Yasmin’s (Nadia Jamil) character is like Aalyan’s character in drama serial Sammi, she is the only one who is educated and she does whatever she can to help these women. Nadia Jamil chose the perfect project to make a comeback especially because this character is probably more in line with her actual personality as well. She is always raising her voice and taking practical initiatives to help people who are less fortunate especially children therefore Yasmin’s concern and love for all the people she was shown caring for was translated on screen effortlessly by her. The child star playing the role of Saira was beyond impressive in this first episode. I remember watching her in one of the episodes of KGBH and I am glad she was chosen to play this role.
This first episode was fast-paced and impactful. It also had some impressive performances to its credit. Mehreen Raheal and Nadia Jamil’s comeback is remarkable. Mehreen Raheal’s outlook and accent was right on point although I believe this is the first time that she has chosen to play such a role. The first episode of Mujhe Jeenay Do started and ended on a high note. The variety of characters and tracks promises a journey which will have tons to offer. The fact that this drama has at least one strong female lead makes it even more appealing. I am looking forward to what Mujhe Jeenay Do has in store for the viewers.
How many of you watched this episode? Do share your thoughts about it.
