The Most Overrated Dramas Of This Season!

TRPs matter a great deal for everyone involved in the business of drama making, while there are still very few writers and producers for whom quality matters more than the quantity of viewers praising the show on social media, the fact is that most of them care about ratings alone! When the competition is intense and there isn’t enough time to come up with a solid script then drama makers very often rely on shortcuts to achieve results which most often guarantee that their project has everyone’s undivided attention. Social suggestion also plays a pivotal role in helping (weak/easily influenced) people decide what they want to tune into, buy or even “like”! Recently, a video has been circulating on the web in which a common man poses to be a celebrity in order to check how people react to a situation in which someone is being given star status by others but they have no idea who he is. Surely enough, most people fell for it and ended up praising this person’s music who isn’t even a singer and were lined up to look at him and were dying to take a selfie with him! This social experiment said a great deal about the role marketing, social suggestion and a certain image has on the general public. This is the reason why our drama makers who are making a serial with the intent of making it a commercial hit make sure that they cast big names, choose a sensitive/controversial topic, give a lot of interviews and create a buzz on social media long before the drama airs.

Unfortunately this season for most of the viewers a twisted storyline, controversial twists and turns, make-up that is right on point no matter what the characters are going through, star power and most importantly proper marketing has worked wonders! Dramas which have no substance are being watched more than many other plays with a more definite storyline. These dramas which are commercial hits are the most overrated dramas of this season for the reasons I have mentioned below!

Baaghi

Baaghi was promoted as Qandeel Baloch’s biopic, one which was somehow going to narrate Qandeel’s story without “glorifying” her. Qandeel Baloch’s name alone was enough to get the viewers interested therefore getting the attention of the general public was never an issue for team Baaghi. This drama was in the news many months before it aired, later on Saba Qamar’s photo shoots which were a copy of Qandeel’s actual pictures, piqued the interest of the viewers even more. Saba Qamar’s massive fan following in Pakistan as well as across the border made the viewers tune into the show since in her interviews she said that this role was unlike any other she had played so far.

The Most Overrated Dramas Of This Season!

Baaghi’s marketing couldn’t have been better and it worked like a charm but the actual content of the show is anything but impressive. The producers obviously bit off more than they could chew and failed to tell Qandeel’s story in an honest manner. The focus of the show indeed is not only glorifying but also defending Qandeel’s actions for some reason. The fact that every episode of Baaghi focuses on just that and the writer has failed to turn the protagonist into a more interesting and dynamic character made this drama one of the most repetitive and dull dramas of the season yet somehow it is a massive success in terms of TRPs! This drama has been “valued” by the general public, the blogs and social media much more than it deserved!

Khaani

Khaani is another play which was promoted as the next big thing on social media and the producers flaunt the ratings it is getting every chance they get. This drama is overrated because it relies heavily on overdramatic twists and turns which most often question the intelligence of viewers. A heroine who is being celebrated as the epitome of women empowerment ends up falling in love in the most ridiculous manner with the man who murdered her brother. Khaani makes a mockery of all those families out there who have been through similar situations in real life.

The Most Overrated Dramas Of This Season!

Most of the comments on social media suggest that just like Khaani (the main protagonist) the viewers didn’t have a difficult time accepting a murderer as a hero which is why they have no issue rooting for a happy ending for him. The drama relies heavily on its beautiful cast therefore no matter what Khaani and Hadi are going through, they always look picture perfect. The script of the drama is  highly misguided, unconvincing and callous to say the least. It is truly upsetting when drama makers pick a sensitive topic but fail to do to justice to it.

Aisi Hei Tanhai

Aisi Hei Tanhai is another drama on this list which raises a social issue but just like every other drama on the list, it doesn’t deal with the issue seriously and relies heavily on making an ultimate victim out of its main protagonist. Characters which plead for the viewer’s sympathy and just like Khaani over-reliance on make-up and good looks kills the actual essence of all the scenarios which have been shown so far. Aisi Hei Tanhai’s script is greatly inspired from all those shocking headlines in newspapers which leave the readers terribly upset but the problem is that the drama does not serve a bigger purpose. Aisi Hei Tanhai is also yet another one of those dramas in which the victim’s mother is her biggest enemy!

The Most Overrated Dramas Of This Season!

We have seen dramas in which the mother stands and guards outside the door while her daughter’s rapist is in the same room as her, we have also seen plays in which the victim’s mother shelters her rapist for years and never finds out who he really is but this drama takes the whole inhuman and selfish mother scenario to a whole new level! The mother tries to kill her daughter after finding out how something terrible she did gave a bad name to her family, declares her dead after abandoning her in a hospital, marries her older daughter to her supposedly dead daughter’s ex-boyfriend (as a punishment for that man!) and later on ends up accepting him as her son! The way this mother moved on after abandoning her daughter is a joke yet the writer managed to gain the viewer’s sympathies because of Sami Khan and Sonya Hussyn’s characters and their journey. Sonya Hussyn’s performance is unimpressive in the play and there are even times when she doesn’t deliver her dialogues right. Nadia Khan cannot act to save her life! Sami Khan’s character and acting is the only saving grace of this drama. Aisi hei Tanhai is Pakistani version of all those star plus dramas in which the most unconvincing scenarios are shown yet the viewers continue coming back for their weekly dose of crazy!

Do share your thoughts about this drama and feel free to add to the list.

The Most Odd On-Screen Couples of Pakistani Dramas

What makes an on screen couple odd? The answer is simple, the wrong choice of actors, lack of chemistry between the stars playing their respective roles and the way their track is introduced and carried forward both by the writer and the director. Sometimes the story is not strong but poignant performances, sleek direction and on screen chemistry between the leads can make an on screen couple a hit. At other times even when the actors give their best performances and the director puts in his best effort too, the overall product is not impressive because the story-line is dodgy.

Here is the list of some of the most odd couples from a few recent drama serials.

Aiman Khan & Sajid Hassan (Beqasoor)

Sajid Hassan is one of the most talented actors of our drama industry therefore it was just plain sad watching him being part of a drama like Beqasoor. Older men get married to younger girls all the time in dramas but the shocking age difference between Shehryar (Sajid Hassan) and Sehr (Aiman Khan) and the way some of the scenes after they got married were shot coupled with the dialogues and few of the developments made their track cringe-worthy. This particular couple is in the list because of the way their track was covered and the overall developments in their story. Like every other track in Beqasoor it had absolutely no depth and it got worse with every passing episode. Sajid Hassan and Aiman Khan both gave brilliant performances but the twists in their track were so absurd that it was a total failure.

01-bayqasoor

Hareem Farooq & Osman Khalid Butt (Sanam)

Sanam being the highly anticipated drama actually came with the biggest shock for the viewers when the promos suggested that OKB was paired opposite Hareem Farooq. The disappointment also came with a reason that people were still not ready to accept the favorite Mother-Son duo from Diyar-e-Dil as a Married Couple in Sanam. By the time Sanam started, a lot of people gave Hareem & OKB’s pair a chance thinking that they will be getting to see some unconventional sort of a couple & the casting director must’ve had something in his mind, only to find out that it was a bad bad bad decision that he made. Aila & Harib’s characters weren’t etched out properly by the writer which made the hopes of the viewers falter but what made things worst was the fact that the viewers couldn’t curb the oddness which peaked through while seeing Hareem & OKB together as a couple because they lacked chemistry & didn’t look like a married couple from any angle. OKB looks best when he is paired against petite actresses & Hareem’s personality is surely not petite, which is why in all those scenes where Harib was seen chanting Aila Jaan, it made the viewers feel that he actually meant Aila Baji Jaan.

02-sanam

Humayun Saeed & Armeena Rana (Bin Roye)

Even with all its weaknesses Bin Roye is a much better drama than many other dramas in this list but since we are talking about odd couples therefore the leading pair of Bin Roye Saman and Irtiza definitely fits the bill. These roles are being played by the very talented Hamayun Saeed and not-so-talented Armeena Rana Khan. The reason why this couple is odd is that there is absolutely no chemistry between Armeena Rana and Hamayun Saeed. Another reason is that the scenes covering their relationship were too short in the last two episodes. The few conversations they had when Irtiza used to visit Saman often in the US were quite monotonous. Most of the viewers have not been able to relate to the connection these two characters share because of these two reasons and also because most of the times Armeena Rana Khan’s confusing expressions and shaky dialogue delivery leaves you disappointed.

03-bin-roye

Zahid Ahmed & Sonia Mishal (Sangat)

This has to be the most odd couple in this list for obvious reasons! The way Salma’s character stood by Shahwez even after finding out that he had raped someone was just plain sick! We have seen many desperate girls in dramas who love a man even though they can never be with him but Salma really was one-of-a-kind and not in a good way! Shahwez played the role of the rapist and the hero at the same time and Salma’s character was used repeatedly to plead Shahwez’s case. This couple was odd not just because of their relationship with each other but right till the end the viewers never really figured out why their relationship was given so much importance. Zahid Ahmed’s talent was wasted in this drama because of the way the story was taken forward.

04-sangat

Saboor Ali & Salahuddin Tunio (Beqasoor)

Yes Beqasoor had some really odd couples to its credit! Saboor Ali’s character Hira was shown as a girl who would even jump off a cliff to please her step-father and she did just that when she decided to marry the suitor Ameen (Salahuddin Tunio) which her father had selected for her. Hira kept on going back to Ameen for various reasons and they got plenty of screen time together. The choice of actors clearly shows why this had to be one of the most odd couples in drama history. Saboor Ali somehow is part of two other projects in which she will likely end up marrying men who are not exactly her age. In Tere Chah Mein her character is about to marry a man much older than her and her character is seen flirting with Faisal Qureshi in the promos of drama serial Waada – more odd couples coming our way?

05-bayqasoor

Adnan Siddique & Mawra Hocane (Aahista Aahista)

Yes, we all know the fact that Awazaar (Zawar) was shown years & years, probably a couple of decades older to Haya but to see them romancing right underneath the eyes of Zawar’s first wife Sofia was so inappropriate. I can’t remember how many times I felt nauseous seeing them acting all lovey dovey with each other. It is not a secret anymore that Adnan Siddique likes to be paired with girls quarter his age, but that drama included a lot such scenes where both Adnan & Mawra had to show how much they loved each other, which was nothing but puke-worthy. The fact that Haya was ready to sacrifice everything for Awazar because she was in love without even knowing him personally made the viewers question the credibility of the writer. It was directed by Haseeb Hassan & it reminds me that even in Aahista Aahista, Awazar was mad about the Pakistani parathas that Haya rolled, just like Harib is about Aan’s parathas in Sanam, I guess Haseeb Hassan has a thing for parathas, hmmmm!!!

06-aahista-aahista

Ayesha Khan & Danish Taimoor (Shert)

Just as weird as the plot of the drama was, the pairing of Ayesha Khan opposite Danish Taimoor was odd too. In a few episodes, Ayesha Khan’s character was married to Syed Jibran & we could see how they both looked good together because they fall in the same age bracket. When Ayesha’s character got married to Danish’s in the later part of the drama after so much of flirting & what not, not only their scenes, their conversations & their chemistry was bad, the overall age difference between the two made things far more cringe-worthy. Ayesha Khan’s character was quite desperate in the drama where she only gets married to Danish to get back with her husband & in the middle of this, she falls pregnant while she is married to him *pukes*. Well long story short, it was hard to sit through Ayesha Danish’s scenes not only because the relation they shared was bizarre but also because even a lot of tight curls & Khaadi’s Kurtas designed for girls, the drama-makers couldn’t curb the fact that Ayesha basically looked like Danish’s Bari Appa Jee!

07-shert

Sana Javed & Murad Jahanzaib (Zara Yaad Kar)

We all know that Mahnoor got Umar Din as a punishment for all the mistakes that she committed in life & the writer wanted to justify that after suffering a lot, Haadi ended up being the one who sentenced Mahnoor to life-long imprisonment by getting her married to Umar Din, but the idea of that couple still haunts me to date, that’s why the inclusion seems inevitable!

08-zara-yaad-kar

Samina Peerzada & Waseem Abbas (Aap Ke Liye)

They both are very experienced actors & they both are hired to play a negative role in a drama. There is absolutely nothing wrong in pairing them as a couple but the treatment both Samina Peerzada & Waseem Abbas have given to the characters of Nishat & Imdad is bizarre to say the least. In quite a few scenes, Nishat & Imdad are seen suggestively flirtatious with each other which makes their scenes hard to sit through & what’s worse is seeing Waseem Abbas in a Beige Silk Night Suit time & again! Considering the amount of experience they both have, it is actually sad to see them going over-board with their portrayal & coming across as creepy, negative & the most odd couple on-screen of recent times.

09-aap-ke-liye

So, there you have it, our list of the most odd couples of Pakistani dramas. I think the casting directors have a huge responsibility on their shoulders when it comes to casting actors for different roles because by the end of the day, it is an actor’s job to elaborate a character on screen, so when the choice isn’t going to be right to begin with, it will definitely impact the outcome of the drama.

What do you guys think about the list of odd couple, please feel free to share your thoughts & add more names to the list too.

The Most Memorable Characters Of 2012

0

The year 2012 was absolutely fabulous in terms of good quality dramas, the year started off with bidding farewell to some unforgettable plays like Hamsafar and Maat and just when we thought that Pakistani dramas could not get any better we were very soon hooked to plays like Durr-e-Shehwar, Bilquess Kaur and Shehr-e-Zaat. There were plays like Ek Nazar Meri Taraf, Yahan Pyaar Nahi Hai, Thakaan, Annie Ki Aye Gi Baraat and Kuch Pyar Ka Pagal Pan which glued the audience to the TV screens. I already talked about the hits and misses of 2012 in my previous article, so now I would like to talk about some of the characters in the plays of 2012 that will never be forgotten and their memories are etched in my mind forever. Here is a list of some awe inspiring characters from 2012.

abbaSami Sahib From Durr-e-Shehwar:

Anyone who watched the play Durr-e-Shehwar must have fallen in love with Abba’s letters and the heart felt conversations that Durr-e-Shehwar had with her father. Despite of his fears and worries for his daughter Sami sahib knew that with his support his daughter will be able to pass gracefully through a very problematic phase of life. Mohammad Ahmed played this role beautifully and every second girl wanted that she should have access to Sami sahib’s letters in order to keep her strong during difficult times. A very kind, just, brave, loving and adorable character etched out superbly by non other than Umera Ahmed.

aimenAimen from Maat:

Yes, she was too good to be true and little did we know that there will be a line of such characters after this play but I remember that at the time when I was watching Maat, Aimen came across as a very loving sister, who I wanted should win at all costs. Aminah Sheikh impressed us all with her acting skills in Maat and portrayed the character perfectly.

siffatSiffat from Ek Nazar Meri Taraf:

There was a time when I felt like the play Ek Nazar Meri Taraf was being stretched unnecessarily but I have to admit that while I was watching this play Siffat’s character seemed so real that I found myself worrying for her, forgetting that it was just a character in a drama. Siffat was innocent, vulnerable and in a very difficult situation. Alishba Yusef nailed the character right from the start and I have never seen her crying so much on screen. Honestly speaking, there was no other character that made me cry so much all through the year.

nanni

Naani From Shehr-e-Zaat:

Naani’s dialogues from Shehr-e-Zaat gave us a lot to think about and an opportunity to reflect upon things that we generally do not give a second thought to. Naani was gentle, caring and had so many pearls of wisdom to share with her viewers. Samina Peerzada has to be everyone’s favorite nani and I am no different; she is very graceful and extremely talented. Naani’s character was excellently conceived and brilliantly acted out, one that would stay with us for a very long time.

bilquessBilquees Kaur from Bilquees kuar:

Bilquess Kaur always came across as a very dominating and controlling woman who would have done anything to make her kids stay under one roof. Bushra Ansari played the Sikhni, who converted to Islam, married to a seemingly docile Muslim husband but also kept her Sikh values intact. There were times when we felt for Bilquees because she seemed like a very sensitive person who longed to be loved just like anyone else but there were many many times when Bilquees just seemed like a very selfish woman. The truth revealed in the end changed how we felt about Bilqeuess altogether. The story may have had loopholes and the ending may have seemed rushed to many but overall Bilquess Kaur’s character was a very unique one. Faiza Iftikhar deserves due credit for etching out such a multi-faceted character.

uroojUrooj From Mere Dard Ko Jo Zuban Miley:

Mere Dard Ko Jo Zuban Miley started off on a very positive note and we all loved Urooj’s character until he fell victim to the storyline. Urooj was confident despite of his disabilities and Shehryaar Munawar completely won us over with his acting and charm. When Urooj was truned into a mere caricature, we all felt gravely led down but it was great while it lasted and this is another character that I will remember for a very long time.

saimaSaima Chaudhry From Annie Ki Aye Gi Baraat:

I never followed Annie Ki Aye Gi Barat very religiously but whenever I did it was because I needed a dose of laughter which only Saima Chaudhry, the designer from Faislabad could guarantee. Buhsra Ansari has proven to be the queen of the comedy time and again and this character suited her perfectly. Saima chaudhry’s go for it and get it approach was also one of the reasons why I liked her so much and really enjoyed the character.

minahilMinahil From Tishnagi:

Tishnagi was one of those plays that you just catch on-screen by chance and you get hooked on it without even realizing it. Minahil was played to perfection by Sarwat Gillani. Minahil was a strong and determined girl who did everything in her power to save her marriage. Although the ending of the play was very disappointing but Minahil’s character was one of the few good characters in 2012.

All the characters I mentioned are from the plays that ended in 2012, please feel free to add to the list and also share your opinion about the characters that are there in the list. I am quite certain that this New Year will give us some more lovable and memorable characters. I already like so many of them. We are truly blessed to have some very gifted writers, directors, producers and actors who bring us wholesome entertainment all through the year.

The Most Loved Actors In 2017

This year although there were many actors who put their heart and soul into their performances and bowled the viewers over completely but there were only a handful of actors who were most sought after and they received a lot of love and appreciation from the viewers. Some of these actors were relatively new but their popularity sky rocketed this year because of their impressive performances and the kind of projects they chose to be a part of. Some of the actors in this list are those who have been associated with the drama industry for a long time but this year the performances they give outdid all the other ones they have ever given. They were the kind of performances which gave these actors a new identity.

Here is a list of those actors who the viewers fell in love with over and over again!

Ahad Raza Mir

He came, he saw and he conquered would be the best way to describe Ahad Raza Mir‘s few months in the drama industry. He started his acting career with drama serial Sammi in which he played the role of a young man who did not let his mother hold him back from helping someone in need. His role in Yakeen Ka Safar however won him unprecedented popularity. He translated Dr. Asfandyar’s role so brilliantly on screen that people fell in love with the character and the actor himself. Ahad Raza Mir entered the industry wanting to carve an identity for himself because he didn’t want people to know him as Asif Raza Mir’s son only. He surely managed to do just that which is why he is definitely one of the most impressive newcomers in the year 2017. A talented actor, a heart throb and a wonderful human being, Ahad Raza Mir deserved all the love he got from the viewers this year.

The Most Loved Actors In 2017

Sami Khan

Sami Khan has always given every character he has ever played his best but this time around in drama serial Tau Dil Ka Kya Hua he played a rather complicated character faultlessly. This character wouldn’t essentially have been too likeable either if it wasn’t translated on screen so well. Sami Khan made the viewers fall in love with his performance more than the character itself. He brought out the best in Faris’ character and the viewers loved watching him playing a leading role in one of HUM’s best plays this year. Sami Khan’s award-worthy performance gave the viewers a reason to look forward to his future projects as well and definitely gave them the reason to shower him with love and praise.

The Most Loved Actors In 2017

Bilal Abbas Khan

Bilal Abbas Khan was part of some of the best drama serials this year. He proved his versatility by translating every character he played brilliantly on screen. Bilal Abbas Khan got recognition and appreciation for his work. The fact that he isn’t just talented but is also good looking and has a pleasant personality makes him a complete package. Although Bilal Abbas hasn’t been associated with the showbiz industry for too long but he has most certainly made a big place for himself in people’s hearts as well as in the showbiz circles. We are pretty sure that he will continue growing as an actor and will get a lot more love in the upcoming year.

The Most Loved Actors In 2017

Kubra Khan

Kubra Khan is one of those lucky few actors who got to make a debut with a blockbuster drama Sang-e-Marmar and that is when she secured a place in everyone’s heart. After Sang-e-Marmar, there was no stopping for Kubra Khan because she got to appear in one super-hit and most-watched dramas after another like Khuda Aur Mohabbat, Muqabil, Andaz-e-Sitam and Alif Allah Aur Insaan. In such a short span of time, Kubra Khan proved that she is serious when it comes to this craft because she not only chose the best of the best projects but also different characters which gave her the margin to showcase her talent. In such an early stage of her career, Kubra Khan has garnered a huge fandom and has become one such actor who can sell the drama by just being associated with it. It won’t be an overstatement but it is safe to say that Kubra Khan has emerged as a Star of Pakistani drama industry.

The Most Loved Actors In 2017

Imran Abbas

Even though Imran Abbas made a name for himself in the industry a long time back and was considered one of the most sought after actors of Pakistan, he took a break and explored the Indian domain. During that time Imran Abbas was unable to do any projects in Pakistan due to which his presence was missed in Pakistani dramas. Ever since his return, Imran Abbas once again made an effort to give back to his fans and compensate for the time that he was missing from Pakistani TV screens and since then, he has given one good drama after another. Though Imran Abbas does a very few projects a year, it goes to show that he believes in quality rather than quantity. His super-hit drama Khuda Aur Mohabbat once again gave him a chance to showcase what a phenomenal and gifted actor he is. Imran Abbas is one of those few actors who draw a massive viewership to any drama because of his huge fan following.

The Most Loved Actors In 2017

Sajal Ali

Sajal Ali might be young, but her acting prowess matches that of an experienced actor. Sajal Ali is a born and gifted actor, that is why no matter which character she chooses, she gives it such a treatment that it leaves an impact and becomes unforgettable for her viewers. Sajal Ali has been a part of the industry for a long time but recently, she has started exploring different genres which allow her to perform like never before. There was a time when Sajal was being typecast but now she has made it obvious that she will work in limited but quality projects and will accept such characters which will be different from one another. Sajal Ali’s flawless performances as Zubiya and Sassi in Yakeen Ka Safar and O Rangreza have earned her a lot of appreciation from the viewers and there’s no doubt about the fact that she is the most loved actor of 2017.

The Most Loved Actors In 2017

Nauman Ejaz<

Nauman Ejaz is one such actor who guarantees a quality performance no matter which drama he chooses to be a part of. Nauman Ejaz has been in the industry for such a long time but it is awe-inspiring how every single time, he brings something new to the table making it look like it outdid himself this time. It is absolutely amazing that even after giving so many performances, Nauman Ejaz exceeds the expectations of the viewers by performing like never before. Nauman Ejaz does appear in quite a few dramas every year but he chooses such characters which are completely different from one another which show that he has this urge to experiment and perform even after he has been in this field for such a long time, be it a character like Gulistan Khan in Sang e Marmar or that of Peer Habibullah in Dumpukht, a sophisticated businessman in Khan or a strict father in O Rangreza, Nauman Ejaz believes in giving variety to his fans. Nauman Ejaz’s fan following is unprecedented and he is one of the most respected and loved actors of our industry.

The Most Lovable On-Screen Couples

0

What makes an on-screen couple melt your heart and sizzle the screen? In my opinion the success of any on-screen couple is due to two reasons, firstly the chemistry between the pair and secondly the script. The script makes a big difference because even if the chemistry is mind blowing but the dialogues and the story does not click to the audience than the couple’s good chemistry may not prove to be any good. A classic example is that of Amna and Urooj from Mere Dard Ko Jo Zuban Miley, the viewers were drooling over the couple because their love was portrayed wonderfully but then when Amna fell in love with the villain, Urooj’s character was reduced to a caricature and things took a spiral turn. Some couples don’t have the perfect ending but their entire journey all through the play is so touching that the viewers love them till the end. Here is a list of couples from recent times who have blown away the audience, they are the on-screen couples who will be remembered forever.

Mansoor and Shehwar

Mansoor and Shehwar’s characters were played impeccably by Meekal Zulfiqar/ Mohammad Qavi and Sanam Baloch/Samina Peerzada. What was about this couple that set it apart from rest of the on-screen couples of recent times? I think that it was that their misunderstandings and problems were very real and the love that ensued later on was very inspiring. To me, Mansoor and Durr-e-Shehwar’s story was the most amazing love story of recent times. I can never forget the last scene of the final episode and the dialogues. Mansoor and Durr-e-Shehwar in young and old age both melted my heart, I will never forget them.

 mlc1mlc3

Asher and Khirad

These two need absolutely no introduction; Hamsafar was a hit only because Asher and Khirad bowled people over by their innocent love. Both the characters were shaped out faultlessly; also the chemistry between these two was unparalleled. It is also a fact that the good looks were a big factor that contributed to the success of this couple. Ever since Hamsafar has ended people have been dying to see this couple together again on-screen. The story of Hamsafar was not outstanding, I think that the only reason it was such a huge success was because of Sarmad Khoosat’s stupendous direction and the chemistry between the leading pair.

 mlc5

Bano and Hassan

Bano and Hassan never had their happy ending but it is also true that Dastaan was not a love story. Bano’s character essentially portrayed ever single person in the subcontinent which had fought hard to acquire a piece of land for the Muslims. Bano’s expectations from this land of pure reflected the hopes of many Muslims at that time. Even though Dastaan was the story of the freedom struggle in the subcontinent but Bano and Hassan were the central characters in the story. Their love was pure and the chemistry between Fawad Khan and Sanam Baloch set the screen on fire. In the end when Bano and Hassan did not get married, many of the viewers were very disappointed. Many people thought that the ending was heartbreaking. Many of the Bano/Hassan fans have also shown their wish to see the same lead pair again too.

 mlc2

Aabi and Haniya

Ah! I can never forget Aabi and Haniya, their romance was a fairytale without a doubt which ended with a grave tragedy. Adeel Hussain and Sarwat Gillani looked very cute together. Aabi was the perfect fairytale hero; he showered Haniya with all the love and care in the world. Some people thought that their love was too cheesy but I thought it was very sweet.

 mlc7

Serena and Kishmish

I must confess that there wasn’t much that I liked about Tanhaiyaan Nayee Silsilay. The only reason I kept on watching the play till the end was Serena’s character and later on the sugary love that blossomed between Kishmish and Serena. The scene in which Kishmish proposes Serena was out of this world and their romance was very cute. Out of all the plays that I have seen recently, Serena and Kishmish are the ones who stand out for me. Syra Yousuf and Shehroz Sabzwari got married when the play was on air. The real life wedding pictures added to the love I felt for this on-screen couple.

This looks like a very pro Hum TV list but that wasn’t intentional at all. Which were the couples in the recent dramas which you found most lovable? Do share.

The Most Impactful Statements By Pakistani Actors In Recent Interviews

Pakistani actors are known for their powerful performances and versatility all around the globe. While giving interviews however, there are very few actors who are not calculated and even if some of these actors are spontaneous, their personalities and stances don’t always impress you. So, while someone can be a great actor on screen, their personalities may or may not impress the viewers when they are their actual self while giving interviews. There are some Pakistani actors who intentionally hold themselves back while giving interviews and then there are those who are not only eloquent but also inspiring. Their personal stories and their outlook on life makes their interviews so special that you can’t help watching them again and again.

I must add that the person who is taking the interview also has a big role to play. Asking relevant and intelligent questions and giving the guests the time and space to say whatever they want to, makes a huge difference. I love watching celebrity interviews, Haroon Rashid and Samina Peerzada are two of my favorite hosts since they genuinely want to know more about their guests and listen to them calmly, giving them the level of comfort they need in order to open up.

Imran Ashraf Redefines The Term “Hero”

Imran Ashraf has worked hard to get where he is today, he always comes across as an extremely grounded and honest person in all of his interviews. His statement regarding the definition of a hero and how he looked at his ‘work’ clearly is the reason why he managed to get this far. Whether you are in showbiz or you are doing any other work, the right approach can do wonders and through his statement Imran Ashraf proved just that. The honesty with which Imran Ashraf accepted the fact that he had been struggling for 10 years and the fame he was enjoying today was nothing short of a dream come true is also rare. Imran Ashraf surely has redefined the term ‘hero’ in more ways than one, not only by giving this statement in the interview he gave to Haroon Rashid but also by actually playing a character which in no way fit into the more accepted definition of a hero and winning everyone over completely.

Imran Abbas’ Take On Life

Everything Imran Abbas said on Samina Peerzada’s show reintroduced me to an actor who I have been watching on screen for years. For the first time, Imran Abbas revealed who he truly was and I must say that every little detail about his life, his losses and the lessons he had learnt over the years completely changed Imran Abbas’ image in my mind. This was the kind of interview which truly was an eye-opener. Although, this entire interview is a must watch but one of my favorite parts was the one in which Imran Abbas talked about the constant struggle he faced in his daily life, what he wanted from life and how he could now see how superfluous this world was. Imran Abbas lost his sister to Cancer two years before he gave this interview and it seems like that tragic loss greatly influenced his thought process. His choice of words and the way he expressed himself was also another reason why this interview left a lasting impression.

Nadia Jamil Exposes Her Vulnerabilities & Strengths

Nadia Jamil is not just a great actress but she is an even greater human being. Anyone who follows her on twitter, would know what kind of an individual she is in real life but her interview with Samina Peerzada was hands down one of the most impactful interviews in recent times. She opened up so comfortably, there is/was never any fakeness about her and I especially loved the honesty with which she shared every little detail about her life. This entire interview is full of statements and stories which sadden and inspire you at the same time. Nadia Jamil is one of those very few celebrities who actually talked more about her own shortcomings and coping mechanisms than about other people or the society. Her positive and practical approach coupled with her strength, makes her not only a survivor but also a fighter.

I am sharing this entire interview here because I feel all of it is worth watching. The genuity with which Nadia Jamil shared all these details was the highlight of her interview. A mature, sensitive and loving soul – Nadia Jamil definitely deserves to be heard.

Hira Mani Choosing To Converse In Urdu

Pakistani celebrities have very often spoken English in interviews even when they were clearly not comfortable doing so. I have personally witnessed stars struggling to speak the language even when they had the choice to speak Urdu. There is also this general impression in our society that people who can converse in English are more polished and educated. Hira Mani is one of those few celebrities who openly admitted that she would much rather give the interview in Urdu because she wasn’t comfortable speaking English. Although, the host Haroon Rashid’s Urdu isn’t impressive and he himself prefers to ask questions in English but Hira very confidently told him that she wouldn’t even have come to his show if she didn’t have the option of answering these questions in Urdu. Choosing to opt for the language of preference and saying all this openly are two different things. I think Hira Mani set a really good precedent there which I hope will be followed by other celebrities who are more eloquent when they speak Urdu. Hira Mani also mentioned that she has no complexes and she learned to accept herself and show who she actually is to the world a long time back. I hope all those celebrities out there who are very often seen speaking wrong English in fake accents in interviews will follow suit.

Zara Noor Abbas Talks About Body Shaming

Zara Noor Abbas’ statements about body shaming and the honesty with which she expressed her true feelings regarding all those comments she got when she was overweight were a breath of fresh air. Hearing Zara Noor Abbas talked so confidently about an issue most actresses shy away from and most importantly her approach towards how the criticism affects the celebrities or people in general was right on point. Her perspective that using ways which were problematic or desperate was wrong. I especially liked what she said about not letting people determine what you choose to wear. The best part was when she admitted that when someone body shames you, it isn’t motivating but it hurts. Admitting that the criticism made her cry and it was difficult to handle it, is something which most celebrities would not admit publicly. This I believe people need to hear, body shaming is bad, it hurts people even those people who appear to be confident and are famous. Zara Noor Abbas’ take on body shaming was my favorite part of this interview.

Which one of these interviews and statements are your favorite? Don’t you just love the honesty with which all these wonderful actors gave these interviews? Do share your thoughts and feel free to add more names.

The Most Controversial Pakistani Celebrities in 2019

0

A controversy is anything which gives rise to disagreements because it is not something which people can agree on. There are different viewpoints about a controversial subject and most often these viewpoints give rise to heated debates on social media and elsewhere. Anyone who keeps on getting into situations which result in public disagreements or those people who do not care about the culturally accepted behaviors often are considered controversial. More than that however nowadays people’s own actions with regards to their personal life often land them into controversies. There are also those celebrities whose personal secrets were revealed without their consent and even though they kept on giving justifications but no one listened to them. Then there are those celebrities whose choices and statements made them controversial.

Here is a list of the most controversial Pakistani celebrities in 2019. A lot of people might disagree with some names obviously because after all there can be no unanimous opinion when it comes to a controversy.

Mohsin Abbas Haider

It won’t be wrong to say that Mohsin Abbas Haider went from being one of the most liked Pakistani celebrities to being one of the controversial Pakistani celebrities in no time. When Mohsin Abbas Haider’s wife accused him of domestic abuse and spoke her heart out in a post on social media, the public and the people belonging to the celebrity circle were enraged. Since then Mohsin Abbas Haider has explained his stance many times yet his comments on social media always get him into trouble. The reaction he gave to his divorce was another reason why he is undoubtedly the most controversial celebrity in Pakistan right now. He lost his place as the singer in Mazak Raat and most of the celebrities did not support him. There are fans who believe him but it is a fact that Mohsin Abbas Haider is no longer seen as the uncontroversial hardworking celebrity which he was considered only a few months back. Mohsnin Abbas Haider became even more controversial when he tried to prove that his wife was having an affair and also the way in which he thanked Allah after the khula via social media!

Mohsin Abbas Haider

Nazish Jahangir

Unlike all the other celebrities in this list, Nazish Jahangir has just started her career but her claim to fame is not her work but her alleged relationship with Mohsin Abbas Haider. Her Instagram stories, tell a story which is more in line with the one Mohsin Abbas Haider’s wife told the media and public. Nazish Jahangir, just like Mohsin Abbas Haider has often tried to clear her side of the story but there is so much evidence confirming that Mohsin Abbas Haider actually was having an affair with her, so no one wants to listen to what she has to say. Many people also believe that Nazish Jahangir might be using Mohsin Abbas Haider to get the attention of the public and make a name for herself in the worst manner possible. Since she is the one who has leaked more information about their alleged relationship than Mohsin Abbas Haider did.

nazish jahangir 1

Yasir Hussain

Yasir Hussain is one of those Pakistani celebrities who do not even try to stay out of controversies. Yasir Hussain has been the most controversial celebrity this year because of the way he proposed Iqra and the way he keeps on insulting people on social media. Yasir Hussain claps back at people criticizing him in an extremely controversial way. He also became the centre of controversy when he kissed Iqra Aziz at the Lux Style Awards. He does not shy away from posting pictures and videos of him and Iqra while they are out enjoying themselves and then if people criticize them, his replies are rude and uncalled for. Yasir Hussain is definitely one of those Pakistani celebrities who has been known more for his controversies this year than the work he has done. Yasir also does not hold back while sharing his opinion about fellow celebrities. He was also one of those celebrities who said that Mahira Khan cannot act.

Yasir Hussain

Iqra Aziz

Iqra Aziz did some of her best projects this year but the Lux Style Awards she won and the relationship she has with Yasir Hussain often landed her in controversies. Many people thought Iqra’s award for Suno Chanda was highly controversial since there were better actresses who deserved this award. The public display of affection and the proposal at the Lux Style Awards landed Iqra Aziz in a bigger controversy than ever. Iqra faced so much criticism and got so much hate from the people that she even closed down her twitter account. Iqra Aziz also has started strict monitoring of her Instagram account and only her fan pages can now comment there. In an interview Iqra said that she will let her projects speak for her and people will eventually forget about all this.

Iqra Aziz

Aiman Khan

Aiman Khan is young and extremely popular but it seems like she is too young to handle all this popularity and hence has been involved in one controversy after the other. First Aiman Khan’s big wedding sparked a great deal of controversy since people thought that this was yet another publicity stunt by an actress who is known more for her followers on social media than anything else. After her marriage, Aiman Khan decided to be a really private person but she did not succeed at it. Her bridal shower pictures were leaked and then her baby’s picture was leaked too. Aiman Khan did not say anything directly but through her sister, she conveyed that she was not happy about all this. People who know that Aiman Khan got work mostly because of her popularity on social media were enraged and that is when Aiman Khan went from being a cute actress to a controversial celebrity. The most interesting part is that Aiman Khan’s husband Muneeb Butt has not been part of any such controversies and has had a more mature approach towards everything.

Aiman Khan 4

Minal Khan

Minal Khan’s ‘support’ for her sister and her statements about not liking the unwanted attention her fans give her when she is out having a good time with her family landed her in a controversy. Minal Khan’s Instagram stories and her reactions after Aiman Khan’s pictures were leaked got a lot of criticism from people and fans. Even fans who have been following and liked Minal Khan for years started questioning her arrogant attitude. Some people went as far as saying that it was Minal Khan who leaked Aiman Khan’s pictures which was partially true since she did post one picture from the baby shower on her Instagram story, which was later deleted. Minal Khan surely has a long way to go since she needs to learn how to deal with the new found fame. Until now, she has not been doing that well and therefore has been landing herself in one controversy after the other.

Mahira Khan

Mahira Khan is one of those celebrities who keep on getting into controversies. In 2017 it was because she was caught smoking with Ranbir Kapoor and then last year several videos showing how addicted she was to smoking surfaced. This year when Firdous Jamal gave the statement regarding Mahira Khan, there was a big debate about whether Mahira Khan really was a star or not. When Momina Duraid issued a statement banning Firdous Jamal, Mahira Khan didn’t have much to say about it. Although, Mahira herself did not do anything to land herself in a controversy but the statement by Firdous Jamal surely landed her in one and even some of the celebrities started saying that Mahira indeed was old and she was not a superstar. The Mahira Khan vs Firdous Jamal war landed Mahira in one of the biggest controversies of her career. People question her acting skills which sparked a long never-ending debate.

Tuba Aamir

Tuba Aamir became a controversial figure when the news of her second marriage with Aamir Liaquat became public. She was the other woman, a home wrecker who was even criticized by Aamir Liaquat’s own daughter. Tuba Aamir has been part of many controversies this year from getting into an uncalled for argument with Aamir Liaquat’s daughter to being accused of dressing bold (which later proved was someone else’s picture). Then Tuba was also seen on Naheed Shabbir’s wedding who too turned out to be a home wrecker. Tuba Aamir has constantly been under criticism and even though she has a fan base too but she continues to get into some controversy or the other.

Tuba Aamir

Aamir Liaquat

Aamir Liaquat’s statements about his second marriage in his shows and the public show of affection towards his second wife Tuba Aamir once again made him the most controversial celebrity this year. The way he was obsessed with proving that he was right and used his transmission to highlight the love between his second wife and him was seen as an attempt to make his first wife jealous. He also criticized his first wife without taking any names and addressing the issue like it was a joke. Aamir Liaquat also received a lot of criticism from people when his son was undergoing an operation and he was away for Umrah with Tuba Aamir.

Aamir Liaquat

Naheed Shabbir

Naheed Shabbir’s wedding pictures went viral and initially most people wished her well not knowing the background. Later on, a well-known journalist revealed the true story behind this marriage. She revealed that Naheed Shabbir’s second husband had left his wife and kids without any support at all in order to get married to Naheed Shabbir. The prayers of the people turned into criticism after this news went viral. People were shocked to find out how both of them left their families to marry each other and as a result Naheed Shabbir became a controversial figure.

Naheed Shabbir

There are some celebrities like Veena Malik, Mathira and few others who literally go out looking for controversies. These celebrities use their controversial behavior to get attention from people. Most of the celebrities on this list however are those who did not want to be controversial but ended up being just that!

The Most Annoying Hosts

0

Please don’t judge me after reading the title, I am not some self proclaimed critic but just an ordinary viewer like you and the reason I am writing this article is so that I can share how I feel about some of the overrated, glorified, puffed up hosts in our industry. I was just watching television (or switching channels would be more like it), the reason I could not make myself stop on one channel was because of some of these hosts. They host some very important shows on different channels and I have given them a fair shot too, somehow they just annoy me every time I try to make myself watch one of their programs. Here are the names of some of the hosts who I have no idea why people like because I can’t stand them.

Sahir Lodhi:
The Most Annoying HostsThis “gentleman” has earned this top spot. I have watched many of his shows so I know only too well why I findhim so annoying. He is so full of himself. His expressions, body language, the way he dresses up, the way he tries to convince you that he was raised in England and his Urdu is very weak, infuriates me. The interesting thing is that most often his shows deal with topics that are very engaging but he ruins it all because of his hosting. I was watching one of his shows in which he was interviewing a girl who was a rape victim, while taking a commercial break, he said “we will be back after a short break, jaye ga nahi, kahani mei abhi aur bhi twists hei”. I thought this was such an insensitive thing to say. So, let me add that this host needs to learn some manners as well.

Shaista Lodhi:

Shaista Lodhi is another host who is so conscious about her looks and her body language that it is impossible for a viewer to feel comfortable watching her on-screen. There is hardly ever a time when the content of her show is good. Just distributing designer clothes to your viewers does not ensure the success of your morning show; one must work harder than that. I wonder why she is hosting a morning show on one of the top Pakistani channels.

Nida Yasir:

The Most Annoying Hosts

I liked Nida Yasir before she joined the rat race and lost the charm she once had because she was so genuine. That was the one thing about her that was very appealing. Nida Yasir always finds it very difficult to find the right words to express how she feels and her morning show relies on music more than anything else. The jokes are lame and she lacks the spontaneity that is needed to host a live show.

Hira And Mani:

The Most Annoying Hosts

These two host less and argue more. Hira’s arms are all over the place and she is checking herself in the camera all the time. Her dressing is disturbing to say the least. Mani hardly ever lets his wife talk and the two are constantly in an odd competition with each other. Their show is another one which is always ill planned.

I am sorry for sounding a little harsh but these hosts really need to brush up their hosting skills. What is your opinion about these hosts? If you are one of those people who like them, please tell me why, maybe I will get convinced!

Saud.

The Most Annoying Host – Nida Yasir or Sanam Jung?

Morning shows in Pakistan have been at their boom for quite a while now and they are often under discussion for various reasons. With morning shows comes a greater responsibility because these shows are used to educate the audience that tune to them. As there’s a whole lot of audience that watch these morning shows either to get educated or to get entertained, it is equally important for the ‘morning show hosts’ to have the intelligence and sensibility to conduct these shows.

Most people tune into HUM TV and ARY Digital to watch dramas, these two channels therefore are the most frequently watched channels, which is why the morning shows which air on these channels, get the most of the viewership and for that reason, Nida Yasir and Sanam Jung are the two most-followed and most-watched morning show hosts at the moment. Sanam Jung and Nida Yasir both were actors before they turned into full time morning show hosts. therefore when they started hosting Morning Shows they already had a fan base.

Both Nida Yasir and Sanam Jung have proved their consistency and commitment as morning show hosts because they have been associated with their respective channels for years. However, since we have been watching them for such a long time, it does make one question whether they are suitable for this job or not? All around the world a host who comes up with new ideas is appreciated for their creativity and is considered a good host, in Pakistan however the criteria is somewhat different!  unfortunately, in Pakistan, the one who can talk non-stop for 2 hours every morning is deemed as a perfect candidate to be gracing the seat of a morning show host while completely ignoring the fact that the non-stop conversing prowess should be considered as just a part of the job and not the actual job because what comes out of the mind and mouths of these hosts is far more important as they are reaching out to the general public through their shows. Unfortunately, in Pakistan a certain criteria has been set for morning show hosts because all the shows provide similar sort of content and for that they need specific kind of women to host them as there’s zero margin for creativity and newness. All the morning show hosts are expected to promote a specific kind of content and the one who does that effortlessly maintains her seat for the longer period of time.

Since Nida Yasir and Sanam Jung have been discussed separately quite a few times on our website, this time around, we decided to compare both of them to see who is more annoying than the other because even though they both have different personalities, they both have a similar approach towards their shows, audience, guests and overall content that they promote through their morning shows.

Attitude With The Audience

There are so many instances where both Nida Yasir and Sanam Jung make you feel bad for the audience that enthusiastically show up on their shows. Those innocent ladies not only make their shows happening but the amount of effort they put in to appear on TV is seen through their dressing and overall get up but sadly, they are treated like doormats by both Nida Yasir and Sanam Jung. When it comes to Nida Yasir, God Forbid if she spots someone in the audience who is healthy or has a dusky complexion, she will make sure to convey it to them by openly body-shaming them. Even though Nida will later apologize but the instant reaction clearly shows her mental capability and caliber that she only judges people based on their appearances and nothing else. Nida thinks it is perfectly alright to comment on someone’s weight, height, facial features and complexion while completely ignoring the fact that she might be hurting people who come to see her with so much of respect in their hearts for her. Quite often, Nida would use her audience as a mannequin for her makeup artists and would even force people to come to the forefront whereas it would be clearly seen that those people are totally uncomfortable. In this regard, Sanam Jung is equally worse because she not only ignores her audience but snubs them trying to show that she has no time for them. For Sanam Jung, connecting with her audience means commenting on their jewelry, dresses or makeup while she totally misses the point that one doesn’t need these half-hearted compliments if they do not come from a place of respect or courtesy!

The Most Annoying Host - Nida Yasir or Sanam Jung?

Control Over Their Thoughts

Sanam Jung can be deemed better in this regard since she is so full of herself, no one else crosses her mind and she keeps on yapping about herself, her husband, her mother, her mother in law and her daughter. Since Sanam can’t think about anyone else but herself and her family, it does make it easier for her to screen her thoughts as most of the times she is not even paying attention to the one she is having a conversation with. When it comes to Nida Yasir, in this regard, she really has no filters and that is one of her worst traits. Yes, Nida Yasir always tries to cover up her blunders after she blurts them out which shows that she has a thing called conscience but that seems pointless as she always says the weirdest of things that are on her mind, be it related to someone’s beauty, complexion, weight or general life experiences. It is good to be honest but one should always know how to word their thoughts because there’s a fine line between being ill-mannered or being straight forward and Nida Yasir hands down falls in the former category!

Paying Attention To The Guests

A good host is one who lets his guests take the center stage but not every host follows that rule. It can be said that Nida Yasir is better, though the reason might be a bit quirky – since she really likes to probe into people’s lives and she loves asking personal questions, she makes sure that her guests feel heard and for that reason she gives them undivided attention, she lets them talk their secrets out since this is something even she herself takes pride in. Sanam Jung however is so engulfed in herself, her life, her family, her daughter that she barely pays attention to what her guests are saying. So many times she ends up asking them the same thing that they had just spoken about which shows that her attention span when it comes to her guests is quite low. Also, it has become so obvious now that Sanam Jung just looks for an opportunity to slip in her personal talks in between the sentences of her guests because she ‘assumes’ people will be thrilled to know the story of how she wakes her husband Qasssaaaam at night for phone charging cable since the power supply is on his side of the bed. Yeah, she said it and yeah, you read it right! Sometimes Sanam Jung asks a question and even answers it herself! There are also times when you actually feel that the producer has to remind Sanam Jung to stop talking about herself and let her guests answer the questions!

The Most Annoying Host - Nida Yasir or Sanam Jung?

Level of Self-Obsession

Sanam Jung beats Nida Yasir in this category by a huge margin because Nida Yasir might speak about herself, she still is not as self-obsessed to an extent of being narcissist as Sanam Jung is. Nida Yasir does share a thing or two about herself and her life but she does that most of the time to make fun of herself, which shows that to some extent, she is pretty down to earth and finds it perfectly alright to share her imperfections whereas Sanam Jung thinks she is perfect and no one comes close to her in that level of perfection. The way Sanam Jung speaks so highly of herself, her husband and her daughter goes to show that she lives in a bubble filled with arrogance and pride which makes her believe that everyone else is a nobody and she is everything, which is another reason why she can’t stop talking about herself!

Posture and Body Language

A host’s posture and body language also contributes a great deal to the overall viewing experience. Sanam Jung is most often seen in formal attire in her shows and has to carry a more made-up and glamorous look which she isn’t always comfortable in. It is quite obvious that Sanam Jung is more of a jeans t-shirt or kurta tights kind of a girl who finds it really difficult to carry duppatta around. She is constantly struggling with her duppatta and even her posture. She also makes it apparent that these few hours when she has to sport a look which makes her really uncomfortable are not a walk in the park. Her discomfort is not only annoying but also distracting because that is the last thing which a viewer should be noticing while watching a show. Nida Yasir on the other hand is more comfortable on her show and most often isn’t self-conscious even though there have been multiple times when her stylists didn’t style her perfectly.

The Most Annoying Host - Nida Yasir or Sanam Jung?

The Way The Show Is Conducted

Conducting a live show demands a great deal of confidence and it also requires the ability to multitask since the show hosts are not only dealing with the guests and the audience but at the same time they have to keep the viewers engaged too. Apart from this, they are constantly being directed by the director which can be distracting. Another challenge in Pakistani morning shows is that most often there are more than enough guests on the set therefore making sure that things do not turn chaotic is also a major task which the host needs to accomplish in order to make the show more coordinated. While both these hosts have tons of confidence, overall, Nida Yasir manages to juggle all these things better than Sanam Jung. One reason for this also is that she does not let her guests completely take over even if her guests are very talkative and confident individuals. Nida’s show is usually as crowded as Sanam’s show but the big difference is that she handles the crowd better than Sanam. Sanam on the other hand is always fighting for time because she talks just as much as her guests and the required time is never enough. Also, very often she fails to give the same amount of attention to all the guests which is why some of the guests might not get to share their views on her show even if a particular guest is an expert who was invited for a specific reason. Having said that, Nida Yasir’s research about the topics and guests is just as bad as that of Sanam Jung, which is why very often she ends up asking questions which can very easily be termed as just plain foolish! Both the hosts clearly do not invest time in finding out more about their guests so that they can delve deeper into the details but end up spending a great deal of time asking basic questions.

Honestly speaking, there was a time when Sanam Jung wasn’t half as annoying as Nida Yasir but after years of “hard work” she can now be crowned as the most annoying host. We also feel that the people behind Jago Pakistan Jago also have a big role to play in turning her into an annoying auntie instead of a creative, fun, intelligent woman who could most certainly do better!!

We would love to hear from you guys, who do you think is the most annoying host? Your votes and comments will be considered as the final verdict ;)

The Most Annoying Host - Nida Yasir or Sanam Jung?

The Most Annoying Characters Of Pakistani Dramas In 2018

The most annoying characters of Pakistani dramas in 2018 were all those characters which got on our nerves, made us grit our teeth and clinch our fists! These characters were intolerable and tested the patience of the viewers. Most of them also repeatedly gave the viewers a lot of reasons to wonder what the writers were thinking while penning these characters down and why would any actor even choose to play these roles! Some of these characters were even more irritating because the actors playing these roles brought out the worse in them! Some of these actors literally sank into these characters and as a result made these annoying characters come alive on screen in all their glory!

Here is the list of those annoying characters in Pakistani dramas in 2018 who tested the patience of the viewers.

Azra (Mere Bewafa)

“Bewafa” hei magar “Mera” hei!

Azra’s bechargi and her sadgi (read: bewakoofi) were two of the most annoying aspects of her character. She was the ultimate victim who kept on fooling the viewers by giving them hope that she might actually make a sane decision but in the end like a gherulu mashriqi lrki with no self-respect whatsoever went back to her two-timing equally annoying husband. Azra’s character was even more annoying because she was shown as a sensible and intelligent woman otherwise but she spent most of her time crying and feeling bad for herself. Azra’s pity party was not fun to attend and made us cry more in the end for sitting through the torture than Azra did in 20 plus weeks! It was upsetting watching someone like Sarah Khan settle for a role like this.

The Most Annoying Characters Of Pakistani Dramas In 2018

Shahmir (Mere Bewafa)

Meri bewafai nahi, meri khoobsurati dekhei!

Yes! Agha Ali made sure that he invested tons of time and energy in looking like the perfect bewafa husband that ever was. Everything from his hairstyle to his shoes was always on point probably because this character had nothing else going for it! It can be safely concluded that the makers of this drama were convinced that if the hero looks good enough, the viewers, just like the leading lady will forgive and forget everything he did in the end. Shahmir’s character was the most pointless and conscienceless male lead we saw in our dramas this year. An overgrown man who acted like a toddler when it came to taking responsibility for his actions – this bewafa hero was terribly annoying! Azra might have fallen for Shahmir’s khoobsurati but we did not!

The Most Annoying Characters Of Pakistani Dramas In 2018

Shafaq (Ghar Titli Ka Par)

Taking bholapan to a whole new level!

Mrs. Bhola

Shafaq can easily be termed as the most dimwit heroine we saw on our television screens this year. Sweet enough to give anyone a cavity and stupid enough to give everyone who watched her on-screen a headache, Shafaq truly should go and claim her throne in Looney land. Shafaq took naivety to a new level which was impossible to relate to. She could not see the obvious for the longest time and even when she found out the truth about Anji, she always had the hardest time speaking for herself. Shafaq’s biggest flaw was her bholapan which was exaggerated to the limit. Her scenes were painful to watch and even though she was the victim, there were so many times when it felt like she totally deserved what she got! Sorry Shafaq, you are so thick, we can’t feel your pain!

The Most Annoying Characters Of Pakistani Dramas In 2018

Azar (Ghar Titli Ka Par)

Mr.Bhola

Mr. and Mrs. Bhola were a match made in Looney land! While Shafaq was bholi enough to trust Anji, Azar’s bholapan was the reason why he got trapped in Anji’s “trap”! These two taught the viewers a valuable lesson – whenever in trouble play bhola (read: the victim) and don’t ever take responsibility for your actions. Azar had an affair with Anji and conveniently blamed her for it. He asked her to live with him and told her to get out because log kya kaheinge! He was another one of those soft-headed leading males this year who put the viewers off completely.

The Most Annoying Characters Of Pakistani Dramas In 2018

Arham (Woh Mera Dil Tha)

Spineless, useless, clueless and expressionless!

Arham was one of the most annoying supporting characters this year. His explanation for backing out from his commitment and his lame excuses throughout were terribly annoying. Thankfully, this was one character which the viewers were supposed to hate but he was also annoying to the limit nevertheless. Furqan Qureshi underplayed this character to such an extent that it lacked any personality whatsoever.

The Most Annoying Characters Of Pakistani Dramas In 2018

Mirha (Ishq Tamasha)

Meesniyo ki malka!

Mirha’s character in Ishq Tamasha was a lot like Shafaq, the only difference was that Mirha’s twisted sense of morality and her holier-than-thou personality was even more annoying than Shafaq’s bholapan! The way Mirha, the masoom meesni, lived in Mehrab’s house and looked after him but never acknowledged or showed her feelings for him made her one of the biggest hypocrites we have seen on-screen this year. Even though Mirha lectured Mehrab about being unfair and cruel to Rushna but in the end she was more than happy to have this rich and “good looking” man in her life. Right till the end she did not reveal her feelings for Mehrab which is why we can easily crown her as meesniyo ki malka!

The Most Annoying Characters Of Pakistani Dramas In 2018

Mehrab (Ishq Tamasha)

Ki jana mei kon!!!!

Yes! Who was Mehrab really? The savior or the sadist? A character which was graceful and intelligent in the beginning turned into an vengeful imbecile whose negativity was supposed to be “charming”!! Mehrab’s character took a turn for the worse when he decided to marry Rushna and after that he had no identity whatsoever. Mehrab’s character was the weird combination of an angry man with a rage but a “heart of gold” (not sure how!). Mehrab’s happy ending was the worst part of a play which did not have a lot going for it already!

The Most Annoying Characters Of Pakistani Dramas In 2018

Sila (Khasara)

Nadeedi # 1

Sila was someone who had her priorities messed as well as mixed up. She was married to a devoted husband but it wasn’t enough for her, why? Because this Rani of Ranipur wanted to ditch her hometown and get settled in big city for the sake of her sons’ bright future. Being a mum of 2, she was so masoom to decipher Mohtasim’s flirtations and in her bouts of masoomiyat, she ended up flirting with him too. She was so over her husband that she fell in love with Mohtasim BHAI only because he had this wealth which he had borrowed from his wife. Even after getting the wealth she was after, her son and his bright future was the last thing on her mind, convenient much? Also, the fact that Sonia Mishal played this character made things even worse.

The Most Annoying Characters Of Pakistani Dramas In 2018

Mohtasim (Khasara)

Tharki of the century

This guy had everything rolling, he had everything working for him. He had a wife who loved him to bits, a son, a huge home and a luxurious lifestyle which he got as a reward for getting married to a wealthy girl but guess what, all he had to do was extend loyalty to his wife for all that she had done for him but he made it look like she was asking for too much. It was disgusting to see him flaunting and spending the wealth that belonged to his wife on other women.

The Most Annoying Characters Of Pakistani Dramas In 2018

Noor-ul-Ain (Noor-ul-Ain)

Putting boredom to sleep

Bore-ul-Ain aka Noor-ul-Ain had no idea why she came to this world. She had no idea why she was born. She had zero concept of what being loyal to her parents meant, may be she didn’t even know they were her parents. Bore ul Ain had no idea why she fell in love. She also had no idea why and how did she get married to Khizar? It won’t be wrong to say that she was the most boring and annoying character that we got to see recently. Noor-ul-Ain was clueless to the core that is why she had no idea why she took such a huge step as she conveniently wanted to blame her Chachi for planning it all but it was good to see Ghazala outbidding and deceiving Bore-ul-Ain, this is what you get for being a toddler at the age of 20.

The Most Annoying Characters Of Pakistani Dramas In 2018

Zamani (Pukaar)

HissssSSSsssss

Be it her overall persona or those strands that were curled to look like one – she was a snake of the house who had taken a form of a human being in Sultan Mansion. Zamani didn’t know how to mind her own business and she fed a lot onto the negativity. She was so annoying that she sent shiver down viewers’ spine everytime she came on screen. Zamani was the reason why things always went wrong in that house and the fact that she planned Zulekha’s murder made her deplorable. Also yes, she sent a snake to murder Zulekha which seals the deal that she had a strong connection with snakes!

The Most Annoying Characters Of Pakistani Dramas In 2018

Laali Ma (Pukaar)

Rassi jal gai par bal nahi gaya

Laali Ma was a picture of all those mum in law’s who feed onto negativity and feel this complex and jealousy from the newly wedded brides. Laali Ma took zulm to a whole new level and not to forget, all those norms and customs that she held onto basically using as an excuse to make Samra’s life far more difficult than it actually was. In the end Laali Ma did justify her wrongdoings by saying she was taking the brunt of her unfulfilled wishes on Samra but then again, is that even fair? How annoying!

The Most Annoying Characters Of Pakistani Dramas In 2018

Samra (Pukaar)

Brand ambassador of Bechari™

The girl who was introduced as an opinionated individual who questioned her husband’s intentions and feudal mindset every step of the way became this silent sally whose only activity for a good period of the time was to to climb up and down from the staircase. Samra accepted everything that Laali Ma put her through which made her becharapan look forced and coerced. Samra could have taken a stand for herself at least but she chose not to because she seemed to be enjoying her position of being a brand ambassador of Bechari™.

Aiman Khan – Biography, Age, Family, Engagement, Dramas

The Morning Show – Salman Shahid

I believe everyone here on Reviewit knows what I personally feel about our commercial morning shows & the level of the detest that I have for them. I think when I first started writing for Reviewit, may be the 2nd or the 3rd article that I wrote was about morning shows discussing their ridiculousness & sadly, in all these years, that opinion of mine in general hasn’t changed. However, I will definitely say that I am glad we have ‘The Morning Show’ on ARY News which is hosted by Sanam Baloch. Yes, I will admit that I am quite biased when it comes to Sanam Baloch because she is one such celebrity that I like & enjoy watching on screen as an actress and also as a morning show host. I remember liking Sanam Baloch’s hosting when she was conducting her morning shows on Hum TV & ever since, I have really liked her personality & energy on screen because I feel if there is one such lady who knows how to conduct an interview & make the conversation interesting, it is Sanam Baloch.

Even though I am not too much into morning shows but every now & then, I do tune to them to see the interviews of the celebrities that might interest me but I will say, every time I have tuned to The Morning Show, it has been a pleasant surprise because of Sanam Baloch. I really feel the team of this morning show puts a lot of hard work & does a whole lot of home work before inviting their guests because of which their host always seems well-informed & the show looks well-researched. Even though Sanam is mostly seen fan-girling over every single celebrity that comes to her show but I find this quality of hers quite admirable because she seems genuine & honest.

To be honest, I always skip those episodes where she is seen discussing the benefits of fruits & veggies or the episodes where she invites beauticians or health experts but then again, since these shows are watched by ladies as they have an access to the television in the early hours of morning, these sort of topics are covered to cater to the people who might have interest in them so these episodes seem justified & necessary as well. Though I may be wrong, but I think this has to be one such show where Sanam Baloch doesn’t rub skin whitening & lightening to everyone’s face, which is something that I appreciate the most as it shows her caliber, her maturity, her mentality & her vision as a person & also as a host.

The Morning Show - Salman Shahid

I will say that the way the team of The Morning Show makes sure to invite legends to their show is commendable but their job doesn’t end there because they make sure that their guests feel special & are given utmost respect which they are entitled to. I have seen a few interviews of celebrities like Mr. & Mrs. Rahat Kazmi, Bushra Ansari & her sisters, Rashid Farooqi, Touqeer Nasir & today, I got to watch the interview of Salman Shahid. In all these shows what I liked the most was how all these senior actors were treated by Sanam Baloch & how interesting & decent her questions were. It is actually refreshing to see such big names being welcomed to the show for the sake of a conversation so that the viewers can get to know them better in stead of just using them as TRP generators or just fillers which is something that usually happens in the rest of the shows mostly. May be this is exactly why those celebrities who never ever make appearances on any other shows choose to share a conversation with Sanam Baloch because of the nature of her show & also because of Sanam Baloch herself as she engages in a conversation in such a wise manner that you enjoy watching the entire episode.

This is something that I & Fatima intend to continue where we will be randomly watching a celebrity interview & will cover it to spark a discussion. So, as this was the first time I was writing about Sanam Baloch’s morning show, I decided to give a general overview so that the readers who want to tune to her show for the sake of these interviews but are skeptical about it know that they shouldn’t be because her show is not like Jago Pakistan Jago or Good Morning Pakistan where they will find the hosts discussing about their newborns or husbands!

So, Salman Shahid, the legendary actor who has given almost 40 years to the industry was the guest of The Morning Show & I must say, I enjoyed each & every bit of this episode as it was actually quite interesting getting to know him & listening to all of his experiences. Salman Shahid has been a part of the industry for such a long time & he started off by telling that he was a student of Government College Lahore when he first made an appearance on PTV by doing a 25 minute play called Jawan Fikar, which was written by Sarmad Sehbai. After this he was approached by Shoaib Hashmi for his first drama & then there was no turning back. It was quite interesting to know that Salman Shahid’s mother was also the part of the industry & she had the honor of working in the first ever live drama that was broadcast on PTV.

The Morning Show - Salman Shahid

Salman Shahid told that he wanted to become an architect but became an actor as he had this aptitude for acting which he believes he inherited from his mother. Since, he was exposed to the industry at such a young age because of his mother, he felt that this was something that he could do. It was interesting how Salman Shahid discussed the dynamics of the industry back in that era because according to him, this job didn’t pay much but since he was a college student, for him getting Rs. 60 per drama was more than enough.

While talking about the nature of his work, he said even though he has earned quite a lot because of the dramas but what he enjoys doing the most is theater & movies because there’s a time restriction & these projects get completed in a short span of time in comparison to dramas. He also recalled his first experience of facing the camera which was interesting. Salman Shahid also discussed how he started enjoying his fandom in later stages of his career because at first when people started noticing him, he would get agitated by the idea of someone following him around to have a conversation with him.

Sanam Baloch then did a rapid fire round & it was amusing because it looked like he was trying to get past most of the questions. What’s even more interesting is that he didn’t have much to say about the young actors like Mehwish Hayat, Mahira Khan or Fawad Khan, so he just tried to ignore those questions with a smile & a little bit of excuse. The rapid fire might not have given us much insight but it did however shed a light on his easy going approach towards life.

The Morning Show - Salman Shahid

Adnan Shah Tipu later joined in the show only to give tribute to him & share his side of the story about what it was like being Salman Shahid’s friend. The Morning Show’s team also arranged video messages of Mehreel Raheel, Abdullah Farhatullah & Sadia Khan where they only had good things to say about Salman Shahid which in general told that he was quite a supportive senior & shared a great rapport with all of his co-actors.

The Morning Show - Salman Shahid

At the end of the show, Salman Shahid parted by saying that everyone should remember that their work is bigger than them because if they’d do that, they will respect it even more. Overall, it was quite an interesting conversation & the way the interview was conducted was brilliant too. I really hope we get to see more interviews of such celebrities who have been a part of our industry for such a long time as we only know them by face but because of shows like these, we’ll be getting to know them as a person too.

The Magnum Chocolate Party 2016!

0

Yesterday a party took place in Karachi “The Magnum Chocolate Party 2016”. The guests were constantly supplied with artistic movements on the ramp and Belgian chocolates. If the purpose of the party was to keep everything unrealistic then it was a big success. Everything was too exaggerated even if it was some sort of innovative art.

Last year in 2015 the Magnum Party was inspired by fashion but this time theme was changed and now art was merged up with fashion. The fashion event had collection from the famous designers, Shamaeel Ansari, Nilofer Shahid, Ali Xeeshan and Faraz Manan which was centered on the theme of surrealism. Everything was embodiment of experimentation and artistry and clothes were not all wearable.
Let us share few clicks from the event, do let us know how you feel about the Magnum Party this year!

The Lover Boys Of Pakistani Dramas

The number of Pakistani dramas and those starring in them have exceeded so much in all these years that they are exploring a lot of different genres and themes to build the plots around. Love stories, however, still remain the most common and most liked form of entertainment especially n our part of the world. We have our heritage surrounding the sagas of Heer Ranjha and Sohni Mahiwal. Having conservative mindset amongst our forefathers, love was always met with scorn and often led to doom and gloom for the lovers. These tales have now taken a modern twist and its often not the elders who are the troublemakers anymore, but a number of other factors are involved now. One thing remains constant though, which is that true love is met with a lot of tears and blood and sweat before the happily ever after is achieved.

The expression of highly charged emotions is often easier for women, in real as well as reel life. When it comes to men, there are very few who can can nail such scenes to perfection and who can express their emotions and feelings of love, loss and fear naturally, but we certainly do have a good few of those very talented stars who can make you ride the wave of emotions with them.

Here is a list of these men who have made you laugh and cry and feel the story with them with their impeccable dialogue delivery and faultless execution of romantic stories. These lover boys and romantic heroes are leading the race when it comes to acting out these ethereal tales.

Humayun Saeed has been giving unmatched performances in romantic scenes for many years now. From Mehndi to Ishq Junoon Deewangi to Doraha to Bin Roye and now Dillagi, he has been giving such powerful  and memorable scenes. His typical loving expression and heavy voice makes the veteran actor shine whenever he is expressing his love on screen.

The Lover Boys Of Pakistani Dramas

Imran Abbas; This young man has been nailing romantic plays since Dil e Muztar and even before that. He can express pain, longing and adoration very openly and naturally. Some of his touching performances have come through Mera Naam Yousuf Hai, Tum Kon Piya and Yaar e Bewafa. He delivers such diaogues with a lot of warmth and vulnerability.

The Lover Boys Of Pakistani Dramas

Sami Khan; He is almost exclusively a romantic hero and one who has frequently lost the love of his life or has to move mountains to get through to her. He has always been appreciated in those roles and hence, he keeps doing more of them and emotes each one with a lot of skill and sensitivity.

The Lover Boys Of Pakistani Dramas

Bilal Abbas Khan; This twenty five year old is the newest among all those mentioned and surprisingly is at par with all of them. His looks are certainly a contributing factor in his rising popularity but so is his talent in acting. He has only performed passionate lover boy roles till now, from Dumpukht to Rasm e Duniya and now in O Rangreza and he is absolutely flawless in communicating to you the love and pain of whatever character he is in.

The Lover Boys Of Pakistani Dramas

Fawad Khan; Fawad is very popular for a number of reasons in showbiz, but Pakistani dramas have been his stepping stones to this fame, even though he is quite selective in doing them. From the stylishly rich Ashar of Humasafar to the boyish Zaroon Junaid of Zindagi Gulzar Hai, Fawad manages to do justice to his part of the love story, and expresses it to perfection.

The Lover Boys Of Pakistani Dramas

Shehryar Munawar; From the tortuous journey of Kahi Unkahi in the name of love to the sadness of Asmanon Pay Likha, Shehryar as been very good in delivering romantic dialogues with feeling. He has a boyish charm which serves him very well in such scenes and make them look effortless.

The Lover Boys Of Pakistani Dramas

Hamza Ali Abbasi; He does not do a lot of dramas but he does carry the character of a lover in a deep, poetic kind of manner which suits him brilliantly. From Pyarey Afzal to Mann Mayal, Hamza does love stories which are unusual but somehow manages to emote them brilliantly.

The Lover Boys Of Pakistani Dramas

Adnan Malik; This multi talented hero always has a number of projects other than acting under his belt including photography and documentary making. Still, he was excellent in Sadqay Tumhare as the angry lover who was wronged and had to lose his lady love due to old scores which were not any of his fault. He was much appreciated in executing the heavy diaolgues of Khalil ur Rehman Qamar with ease.

The Lover Boys Of Pakistani Dramas

This is not to say there are not a lot of other actors who are performing wonderfully these days, but it was about those who received acknowledgement and appreciation for being romantic heroes and nailed the forlorn lover boy roles perfectly, even if they lack somewhat when performing as a different character.

0

Omair Rana is an actor and theatre director. He runs his theatre company by the name of Real Entertainment Productions (REP) that was founded in 2000 and has done over 50 plays ever since.

The Love Story Of Omair Rana Will Melt Your Heart

He is married to the love of his life, Maira Omair Rana. The couple faced lots of hardships in their relationship but their love story will surely melt your heart.

Omair Rans’s wife shared their beautiful story which is going quite viral on the internet these days. She shared, “1995. I was 16. He was 17. We saw each other for the first time in front of Copper Kettle in Liberty Market Lahore. He was a friend of my cousin’s and they met briefly while I waited next to the car. He thought I looked like a snob and I thought he seemed too chummy. So “hmph” teenage moment! We met off and on with the cousin but never got along. Snob vs too chummy didn’t stand a chance!”

The Love Story Of Omair Rana Will Melt Your Heart

“1997. I was 18. He was 19. I was in my BA 3rd year. He still hadn’t completed his A levels…moment of silence there. I took his number from the same cousin and called him one night in June to talk about something pestering me. Something I knew only he could help with. Incidentally he was alone at home and free. So, as fate would have it, the snob girl and the chummy boy ended up chatting the entire night. Something which is quite a heroic achievement in the times of one landline a house. That too in the TV lounge and Amma Abba’s surveillance at its peak. The next few days we ( separately in our own lives) couldn’t help but think of how well we got along in that one chat. It was actually as comfortable as chuddy buddies.”

The Love Story Of Omair Rana Will Melt Your Heart

She added, “So. A few days later I, the cheeti ( as my sister called me later) called him again! From the same landline ( it was an orange phone I still remember that. I still remember his phone number also) and from the same TV lounge. Guess what? Yes! Another all night chat. But drop scene yeh huwa ke meri walida mohtarima aa gayeen subha 5 bajay. She didn’t exactly figure out what was happening but of course antennas were up. And Mr Rana ki to sitti gum ho gayee (which he told me later). He said he walked outside on the road at 5 am for hours panicking that I may be in trouble.”

The Love Story Of Omair Rana Will Melt Your Heart

“Later in the day he walked to a PCO to call and check if all is well. The phone kept ringing and shutting until I picked it up. And a voice said “Sarah?” I said “ uhh no” He said “just wanted to check are you ok?” I said “Yes”. Two telephone conversations later we were both 100% certain that we wanted to get married,” Maira Omair Rana shared.

The Love Story Of Omair Rana Will Melt Your Heart

“1999. He told his mother kyunke bairooni maddad ki zaroorat par chukki thee. Aik rishta serious ho gaya tha. Army Captain. I wonder where he is now…ok. Focus. His mother was super supportive. I collected the himmat to confide in my mother. Jhaar pari lekin qayamat nahin ayee. Baree hee maharat se donon walidas to milwaya. Makhan lagaya. Kiya nahin Kiya. They both said ok we will help you. Plan yeh tha ke my Ami will defer potential rishtas and his mother will bring the rishta as soon as he nears graduation and can talk to Abu with some grace,” she said.

The Love Story Of Omair Rana Will Melt Your Heart

“2000. My Masters done. Itni parhi likhi qabil heroine. Hero ka final year. Finally!!! Rishta aa gaya.”

The Love Story Of Omair Rana Will Melt Your Heart

She continued and said, “2001. Finally a graduate. Hero found a job of 13000 Rs. Wasn’t great but I was ready to marry an unemployed man to Yeh to lottery thee. I started working. With almost the same pay…and Somehow, after two years of convincing and case pleading we got engaged on the 1st of January 2002. By far that day is, even now, the happiest day of my life. If anyone asks me that question, the first image that pops in my head is that night. It was surreal…honestly it was just meant to be. There was nothing going in our favour but somehow it happened.”

The Love Story Of Omair Rana Will Melt Your Heart

Maira Omair Rana said, “Understanding yeh huwee the shadi araaam Se ho gee. Obviously hero was 23 years old!!! But dekhain, dulhan 22 kee thee na…and that’s OLD in a conservative, Punjabi family. To naya katta khul gaya na. My parents wanted it over and done with ASAP and his parents were reluctant. I can understand both sides but qeema kis ka bun raha tha? Aik saal main tension peak par pohanch gayee aur wohee huwa jo filmi stories main hota hai. Hero ko laga unn ke Amma Abba ki “insult” ho rahee hai and unhon ne mangni tor dee… jee haan!!!”

The Love Story Of Omair Rana Will Melt Your Heart

“Lekin heroine ki dhittayee par to medal banta hai. Aadhi raat ko ja kar Abba ko jagaya aur bhaaan bhaaan kar ke dukhi kahani sunayee. Felix felicious feeling thee seriously. He heard me. And somehow promised to take care of everything. And he did. Date set ho gayee. Aglay saal ki! 365 days later.” Acha jee six months before the big day, Mr Rana decided to quit his job and pursue acting. Chalo jee. Naya sayapa. To huwa Kiya? Everyone discouraged him. Except me. But he wanted to satisfy his parents and went to UAE for a job hunt. Nope. No luck. Came back and announced that whatever it takes I am going to pursue my first love. Theatre and acting.”

The Love Story Of Omair Rana Will Melt Your Heart

She further added and said, “2003. To kar li shaadi. We were the happiest people alive. I honestly have seen VERY few couples as happy on their wedding day as we were. We were actually on cloud 9. Ready to take on anything that life brings. Anything.”

The love of winters

0

In an icy cold morning of the chilly winters, you go to your college or workplace what is the first body part that gets cold? The answer is definitely the hands or the nose. Imagine a very smooth fur covering your hands in this chilly morning, what will it feel like? Obviously it feels amazing. Your trendy and favorite mittens will never let the cold climate harm your hands. Now moving on, when you come home, tired and exhausted in a chilly evening, what do you want to do? I will tell my secret here; I would want a big mug of hot coffee or hot chocolate and a warm furry blanket to cover myself up. As soon as I tuck myself in my favorite blanket, I start feeling my secret love for winters. If you have ever felt the same do let me know through your comments. And I do read each and every comment on my every article so your feedback is very much appreciated.

Fur has been the basic winter attire since the beginning of time. When there were no fashion trends and people didn’t know anything about clothes they used to cover themselves up with fur. Fur is very beneficial for a cold climate as it protects and warms up the body. Previously, it all used to be about survival of the fittest so the people used to hunt furry animals like bears, foxes, minks, rabbits and many others for the purpose of their fur. Since today the trend is being followed. Fur is still in fashion and it is also a need. It is the style statement of people who love to dress themselves up for the love of winters. Many of our famous celebrities wear furry coats and scarves in winters. Fur makes you look trendy and at the same time very elegantly dressed up. If someone wears something made out fur he or she usually stand out in the crowd. This is what makes fur popular among people of all ages.

The most famous brands that produce fur are named as Dior, Burberry, H&M, Gucci, Chanel, Versace, Prada and Zara. These brands have been selling these furry products at very high prices and this shows the importance and demand of fur made products. People die for fur and they are willing to pay huge amounts of money to get the best fur made products. Mittens, Hats and coats have always been necessary in winters but these days, snoods, neck warmers, scarves and much more new products are introduced. These products are highlighted as highest ranking products in fashion. In the countries with extreme environments people benefit from furry socks, furry slippers, cozy knits and many other products made out of fur. Those products protect them from frost bites. Not only in countries with extreme climate but also in normal and moderate winter countries, people still prefer wearing fur because it is very much in fashion these days.

These products provide a soft and comforting sensation. The furry neck warmers are very close to the neck and prevent the chills felt on the chest. For me the love of winters is all about cuddling and snuggling while getting the required warmth. Fur is also used to make cuddly and furry stuffed toys. No child resists on the very soft and adorable stuffed toys. These small furry things give you a relaxing feeling. I will give my own example here, since my childhood I have had this strong love for my furry stuffed toys that I can never ever think of living without them. Still today I sleep with my extra large cuddly and furry teddy bear and if I go some where I always take it along. If due to some reason I can not take it then sleeping becomes a big problem for me.

a-ORGANIZE-STUFFED-ANIMALS-640x468

This is how people get attached to things made of fur because it is very comforting. Moreover, in winters the prefect gift someone can give is something made out of fur. A gift which is weather specific is very special and appreciated because it gives comfort and happiness at the same time. Furry accessories or soft and furry stuff toys or pet animals will definitely give you a tight hug from that someone special in return. Try for yourself and do let me know in the comments section below if you have ever experienced something special or you made someone feel special like this.

The Love Of Pakistani Starlets For Menswear!

0

Fashion is simply dynamic. There are no rules when it comes to fashion. Especially working in the entertainment industry, the divas opt for many different kinds of looks from chooridaars to ball gowns, from jeans to dresses and sometimes even menswear. Same was the case for our divas who went from their all girly glams to desi boys in crisp Shalwar Kameez.

We have all seen Haniya being her bubbly self in cute tops, gorgeous gown and beautiful kurtas. She carries both eastern and western with beauty and innocence. Nimra Khan also does both correctly. She is often seen in her jeans but can carry a lehenga any day with style. And who can not agree with the diva Saba Qamar is. She has upped her fashion game to match her acting skills in the recent past. She has done many styles and her latest transformation is adorning a menswear Shalwar Kameez. Here are some pictures os all these beauties in men’s Shalwar Kameez:
