Sanam Jung hosts the Morning Show on HUM so we see her interviewing celebrities on almost daily basis but it isn’t very often that we see her being interviewed. HUM gave Sanam’s fans an opportunity to see her talking about her entire career till now by arranging an interview with the young actress who has been part of the three very popular dramas which aired on HUM.

Sanam Jung talked about how she landed into acting. It was not something she planned to do because her degree was such that she wanted to work in the bank but ended up playing the lead role in Dil-e-Muztar. Sanam said that unlike most of the actors she does not like a lot of dialogues because she always has a very tough time learning the dialogues.

Sanam feels lucky that she got the opportunity to work with wonderful people who were always very helpful and patient. Sanam Jung also discussed her feelings with regards to Haya’s character.

Bashar Momin fans must be waiting for Ushna Shah’s return, or as Piya Mann Bhaye’s official page puts it, Bashar Ki Rudaba‘s return, but that’s the only thing to look out for in Geo Entertainment’s upcoming drama, produced by A&B Entertainment, directed by Ali Faizan and written by Asma Sayani.

The promos promise us the done-to-death story of one sister grabbing the other one’s husband. Ushna Shah is the antagonist, the materialistic Haniya, who doesn’t think twice before she snatches someone’s belonging, just because her dil likes it! She is the opposite of her elder sister, Mantasha (Rabab Hashmi), who wants nothing but a muhabbat karne wala shohar. 

We hear Haniya’s youngest sister, portrayed by newcomer Shehzeen Rahat, uttering the dialogue that is calling for trouble, “Tum aapi ka dulha bhi mat chura lena.” And we all know that’s exactly what Haniya will do.

Momina Mustehsan is one of the most popular singers of recent times. Many people think that Afreen happened all of a sudden and won Momina the kind of fame which many people can only dream on. Although, Afreen did get her overnight success and made her a household name but while talking to Samina Peerzada on her talk show, Momina shared that she had been singing and playing instruments since she was in grade 5.

She said that people think I got success overnight but that is not the case.

Item numbers and dance numbers with scantily dressed women are becoming a part of Pakistani films now. These dance numbers or song videos are released for public viewing months before the films are released so that people who are interested in such dance numbers will know that the film contains such songs.

Zhalay Sarhadi talked about her dance number in the film “Jalaibee” when she was invited as a guest to Bushra Ansari’s Morning Show on Geo. First of all she said that her dance number was not meant to be an item number but it was shown merely to show the background of her character. Bushra Ansari commented that people said that this was a very decent dance number to which Zhalay Sarhadi replied, “We decided we were not going to promote the film based on showing women’s skin.” She further said, “There were people who I know from the industry who questioned me because I was wearing so many clothes in an item number. They said that if I was going to do an item number I should’ve gone all out and done it!”

Zhalay said that people like and respect me and she wants to be known as a drama actor because Pakistan dramas are much more popular than any other in the world. She said that Indians can do whatever they want to in their films because that is their culture but Pakistanis have a different identity.

Ayeza Khan and Danish Taimoor makes one of the most adorable couple of our media industry.

Ayeza Khan while talking about Meray Pass Tum Ho revealed that people are really scared of Danish Taimoor’s anger.

“When Meray Pass Tum Ho was offered to me at first I though I couldn’t do it, I haven’t seen anyone like that in my surroundings. As you start growing you see many such stories around you” said Ayeza Khan

“We need to talk about every story. This was one such story about which we talked. And its our victory that people talk about it” Ayeza explained further

Sanam Saeed is a versatile actress who has proved her mettle in modelling much before she entered the field of acting. Currently she is playing the leading role of Paymaan in drama serial Firaaq which airs on HUM. Paymaan is a girl who was raised in a very rigid environment by an over authroratitive mother, therefore she is not like other girls her age. Sanam Saeed in her interview with Dawn News admitted that playing this role was not easy. “Paymaan was a tricky character to play. I had to work at making sure I didn’t fall too flat, or become boring. It certainly was a challenging role. I’m used to being assertive, and speaking my mind in other plays, but Paiman does transition into that stage as the story progresses.” said the actress who likes to play such roles in dramas which can be role models for other women.

After leaving her mark in all the other fields she has been involved in now Sanam Saeed is starting her film career with the upcoming film Mah-e-Meer. Talking about her character in the play Sanam Saeed said, “I play a shaairah who gives in to commercialism unlike the rebellious anti-politics shaair played by Fahad Mustafa. I play a supporting role in adding to the conflict in the story.” 

Sanam Saeed has also worked in theatre which according to her is her favorite medium. “I love being on stage, nothing compares to it. I was afraid of films, but I’ve had my taste of it and I think it’s my second love…I enjoy the rehearsals and the pace at which a film is shot compared to television. I don’t know how much I’ll still like it after appearing on the big screen though, that is the true test I have not been through yet.”

Sanam Saeed also revealed in her interview that she is getting married next year. Sanam Saeed said that she will continue working even after she gets married. She said, “You prioritize, you don’t be lazy. If you make the effort to keep the balance, anything is possible. Hard work, honesty and support make it all happen.”

After a couple of other production houses have released the trailers of their films. Showcase films owned by the famous Wajahat Rauf have dropped the teaser of the much-awaited movie “Parde Mein Rehne Do”. Usually people would think that someone like Mathira who is continuously giving people something to talk about would not care what people think about her but that is not the case. While talking on a talk show Mathira said that she was sick and tired of the way people judged each other in Pakistan and especially her. Mathira also said that when she shifted to Pakistan from Zimbabwe “It was very hard for me to change my mentality. I used to argue with my mother all night and my mother used to say that you can never meet the social norms in Pakistan.”

In the interview Mathira said that her mother used to tell her not to wear short dresses because the mentality of Pakistanis was different from that of the people of Zimbabwe. She further said, “There are all sorts of people in Zimbabwe. There are Hindus, there is poverty and Muslims live there too but they are not judgmental. People there do not judge your character based on what you wear.”

Mathira said that if a girl wears shorts people will continue staring at her legs like it is a “free deal”. Further on about the people in general Mathira said, “They can’t love or hate properly.” Mathira is very unhappy with people judging her all the time. She says that she feels sometimes that she is a politician and not a entertainer.

While talking to the Express Tribune Mathira said about working across the border, “Indian directors have been welcoming and really want me to their future projects. Projects tu aate jate rehte hein but family always comes first.”

Nauman Ijaz is one of the most loved and versatile actors in our television industry. Nauman Ijaz stepped into the television world with the desire to become a newscaster but the director Nusrat Thakur saw much more potential in him and that is how he got his first break. Nauman Ijaz usually avoids giving interviews but recently he was interviewed by the Express Tribune. While giving the interview Nauman Ijaz talked about things which we don’t see him talking about very often. “When I work, I work like anything; there are days and nights solely meant for shoots. By day, I am in Karachi and by evening in Lahore, working on various other plays, simultaneously,” said the veteran actor.

Nauman Ijaz also attributes his success to all those actors who were senior than him because they helped him learn. “There have been times I was scolded on set on numerous occasions for not delivering my lines well. But today’s youngsters, they don’t wish to learn from veteran actors”. Nauman Ijaz has a law degree which means that he could pursue a career in that field but he says, “I always knew that going to libraries for references and to offices for litigation wasn’t my thing. I worship acting. I am too honest with it. Sadly, people in this field are often not. They have made a joke out of it. Thekaydaari nizam hai.”

Nauman Ijaz thinks that there is a big difference between the way newcomers at his time used to work and the way newcomers nowadays work. “We have left behind our norms. We were not taught at an academy but got flourished under the guidance of the notable names and we knew how to respect our elders. Young actors today want to be respected instead! With such an attitude how can they expect us to love them back?”

Nowadays Nauman Ijaz is hosting the show Mazaq Raat, he says, “I have paid respect to every individual who has come to my show without any prejudice. On national television, nobody gives respect to the other. The fault lies with us. Have you seen the morning shows lately? The way to conduct a proper show is lost on us! There is no consistency and neither any improvement. That’s the sad state of the affairs these days.”

And how does he feel about Pakistani dramas being aired in India? “Indians are currently enjoying are dramas, but I wonder for how long. Pakistani women on screen are being humiliated. It’s high time we show the issues of women empowerment on the TV.”

Nauman Ijaz believes that a lot needs to be changed before the Pakistani cinema can truly flourish, “Why we lag behind is the fact that the son of those people who once made studios, took all the money and did nothing to upgrade the industry. Hence, we are to be blamed for ruining this industry by our own hands.”

Drama writer and novelist Umera Ahmed needs absolutely no introduction. She is very popular among novel readers and television viewers in Pakistan. Lately, Umera Ahmed’s drama serial Zindagi Gulzar Hai went on air in India. Television viewers have been bowled over by the drama. While talking to Press Trust Of India Umera Ahmed said, “Our image is shown as a regressive country, which does not treat its women well. But we have so many women artists here. In fact, most of the television writers are women.”

Umera Ahmed said in her interview that she hopes that these dramas will help dispel away the misunderstandings that exist in India about Pakistani society. Pakistan does not only have women playing an active role in the drama industry but there are channels that are being run by women.

“Pakistani TV is progressive and hence, characters that are shown are of today as well.”

“A feeling of alienation existed in India about life in Pakistan, because most of what was known was negative. So, everyone used to believe that things in our country are always bad and we don’t lead very happy lives.”

“But this has changed to some extent. After watching our dramas, people now know that we [Pakistanis] lead our lives similar to the way they [Indians] live,” said Umera Ahmed.

Umera Ahmed’s play Maat will be replacing Zindagi Gulzar Hai on the Zindagi channel.

The leading lady Mahira Khan who recently made her Bollywood Debut with Raees has managed to rule the hearts yet again with her beauty. Her film Raees has not released in Pakistan until now but is expected to hit the locals screens on February 3rd. Mahira has time and again expressed grief over the situations between the neighbor countries since she couldn’t promote her dream debut nor it is released in Pakistan.

She said that her Pakistani fans were also upset by the situation. Mahira Khan said that ‘Raees’ had gained recognition around the world including India.

“I am the first Pakistani actress who got the opportunity to work with Shah Rukh Khan as the main lead. But I feel that my success and fame has come under the evil eye due to which my film has not been able to release in Pakistan,” she added.

However, Mahira Khan says that she was not disappointed as according to reports Indian films will be permitted to screen in the cinemas.

“It is a good sign that the exhibition of Bollywood films is being reopened in the country,” said the actress.

To a question she said: “Pakistani films are my priority however; I had never compromise on the role. I will work in films based on quality productions and significant characters.”

Amitabh Bachchan is a very well-known artist of India who is considered a living legend. Pakistani dramas have been appreciated by many famous Indian celebrities especially ever since the Zindagi channel started airing Pakistani dramas and now Amitabh Bachchan has also expressed his likeness for Pakistani dramas.

While talking to BBC Urdu Amitabh Bachchan shared how he felt about Pakistani dramas and also about Pakistani actors and singers coming to India to work. He said,

” I like it when people from Pakistan come to work in India. We have seen the work done in Pakistan. The drama serials that are shown on Pakistani television are exceptional. A channel in India is dedicated to showing Pakistani drama serials which are very fine and I accept the fact that Pakistani TV serials are far superior than those which are being made in India. The artist in Pakistan are brilliant too. Even very long ago many Pakistani serials were extraordinary.”

Amitabh Bachan also said that he believed that Pakistan and India should work together in the field of art. He also said that his parents had spent their childhood and youth in Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore so he has always been able to identify with Pakistan.

Amitabh Bachan also said,

“We should keep on trying to have better ties. We are neighbors and we believe, just like Pakistanis, that neighbors are like family.”

Mawra Hocane is the talk of the town nowadays because people are finding it difficult to attaching a whole new image to the name of an actress who has mostly played very docile characters on television and promised her fans that she was not going to let her fans down when she signed the Bollywood film. According to reports Mawra has signed 3 Bollywood films.

Mawra Hocane gave an interview to Dawn in which she talked about her new look and working in Bollywood. Here is the interview:

Your new look shocked and surprised many… do you really want to get rid of your bubbly image in Pakistani dramas?

Mawra Hocane (MH): First of all, let me clarify a couple of things. Now that I have entered Bollywood, I have to explore new horizons as an actor. Our people always take time to adjust whenever something new is done and that’s exactly what happened with my shoot. I’m absolutely fine with the general public reaction, however, I’m very thankful to my fans for such a huge positive response.

I don’t feel I’ve done anything different to what’s happening in all the Pakistani films too. It’s just that the platform is comparatively huge so the response is massive too. As for the bubbly image, I don’t intend to get rid of it for a few years. The real-life bubbliness is never going away; at least not till I’m in my early 20s.

How different is Bollywood from our local drama industry where you have worked hard to make a name for yourself?

MH: Our drama industry is quite small compared to Bollywood and that’s a fact, not just my observation. For me, I’m living my dream and that’s one of the reasons I don’t dwell into the technicalities of how different they both are. I’m glad I’m getting to learn the basics of film acting from the very best people. I am also ecstatic that I’m being loved and pampered here in India and am super motivated to deliver my best.

Ranbir Kapoor’s video message was a huge thing for a newbie like you… have you got to meet him yet?

MH: I’ve got more things to be joyous about than just that video alone.

Even getting to work on such a huge platform in such a tender age is a big thing for a newbie like me. I’m the youngest to hit Indian cinema from Pakistan because in the past people first got to establish themselves in Karachi or Lahore and then got a break in Bollywood. Nonetheless I’m extremely happy; I don’t want the updates on this matter to overshadow my work. I’ll be updating you all slowly and steadily.

Who else did you meet during your stay in Mumbai?

MH: I’m meeting quite a few people but that’s not important right now; my priority is my work at the moment. Once I am through with the shooting of my debut flick, I shall bombard my Instagram with all the selfies I am saving at this point of time (laughs).

Any message to your increasing number of fans in Pakistan and also in India?

MH: I am overwhelmed by the fact that the number of my fans is increasing in both India and Pakistan. I love my fans in Pakistan for being so kind and letting me be myself. Along this journey of exploring myself and a new world out here, I’m always going to make them proud too. They’re my constant support system. I would always want that support and love to keep flowing to me, no matter where in the world I go.

Urwa Hocane Wedding

Mahira Khan starrer “Verna” is set to release this November the 17th and the director Shoaib Mansoor had the following to say about his film and his take on sexual abuse in his recent facebook post.  

“Rape is one of the most prevalent and ugly forms of crimes against women in Pakistan. Although the women’s movement has tried to grapple with this scourge and worked with the law makers as well as the law enforcing agencies, the mindset of the society remains the biggest challenge that needs to be tackled,”

He further wrote,

“According to Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, one woman is raped in Pakistan every two hours. Globally Pakistan has been ranked third from the bottom as the most dangerous country for women in the world.”

He went on to write,

“A substantive push is needed to show clearly how rape is used as a tool by powerful in the society to humiliate and invoke fear among the vulnerable. All this happens in the context of patriarchy where the bodies of women have become the battle ground for men to fight their battles of honor, power and revenge.”

He said the following about his Mahira starrer,

“With the thought that a feature film on this sensitive issue can make more impact than years of struggle through smaller interventions on TV or by NGOs, I have made this effort and named it Verna.”

“I have chained all my three films together since all deal with women empowerment… ‘Khuda Kay Liye Bol Verna’. I sincerely hope it will not only spark off the process of shifting people’s patriarchal mindsets but will rejuvenate the movement against this crime,”

“Most of all I hope that it will at least make women reflect that rape does not rob them of ‘honor’, it is something they earn and no one can snatch it away from them,”

“Things happening around me bother and hence I am forced by my conscience to take them on. My films reflect the anger that I feel on social injustice of all forms. So every time I am about to embark on a film it is my anger that drives my movement of thoughts not the hunger for success and money,” 

He concluded his thoughts with the following words:

“It doesn’t mean that I have a thing against films based on pure entertainment. Not at all. By all means they should be made and succeed and I have all the due respect for their makers. I am happy at the recent success of Punjab Nahi Jaungi and Na Maloom Afraad 2 and wish success to all other that are in line to hit the screen. We need these films to rejuvenate the industry in our country. But we also need some to say something thought provoking. I hope I am provoking some thought,”.

Shoaib Mansoor is not just a gem of a film maker but also as amazing a human as one can be, we wish the director huge success and hope that he keeps making this industry and this country a better place.

Ever since Meesha Shafi accused Ali Zafar of sexual harassment the entertainment industry has been divided in two factions. Maya Ali found herself amidst all this owning to her latest flick with Ali Zafar titled Teefa In Trouble. TIT is a huge project for both Ali and Maya. Maya was constantly questioned in every interview what her stance on this harassment case is. In a recent interview with Express Tribune the actress gave her two cents on the matter and said,

“This episode is very separate from Teefa and there are a lot of people associated with it. Had it been in hot waters, would blame everyone who’s helped in making it? Also, I believe everybody has their own opinion and experiences.”

She further added that she hasn’t seen proof form either side and she really hopes now that the case is in the court the truth prevails and the guilty one pays,

“Of course, Meesha said something based on what she’s experienced but I haven’t seen any proof, from either side actually. Not to support or defend anyone but I’m waiting for things to come out in the open. This can happen to anyone, even me, and I hope we can be more patient and question people without judgment.”

She concluded,

“Now that things are in court, I hope that the truth prevails. It’s important for people to know who’s right and what the repercussions of something like this might be.”

When asked of her thoughts on the MeToo movement the Man Mayal starlet said,

“I don’t think we had #MeToo when I started off but I’m glad it’s here because it’s important. If something is benefiting people, it should be done. We need to eradicate evil doings. How we do it is something collective but we need to be mindful of what we say. I strongly believe we cannot judge a book by its cover.”

Janan Malik and Nouman Javed have mutually parted ways.

Initially, there was news that Janan and Nouman are living separately and are opting for a divorce but there was no confirmation regarding this.

However, putting all the speculations to rest, Janan herself has confirmed all the reports. Speaking to a local news channel, she revealed that they have parted ways and it was a mutual decision. The irrevocable differences between them led to this and there’s no sourness, and she wishes the best for Nouman!

Nouman and Janan signed the divorce papers on March 12 and submitted them in court on March 13.

Singer Nouman Javed and actress Janan Malik tied the knot in September 2016, and have parted ways after 6 months of marriage.

Mahira Khan and Saba Qamar have been compared from time and again; more after they both debuted in India. Though Mahira with her killer looks became Zaalima across the border, Saba and her on-point acting skills definitely aced the Indian cinematic industry. Since then, there is no stopping the comparison between too, with the weight being on Qamar’s side.

Entertainment fanatics had constantly been poking Mahira for being jealous of Saba. Now, she has come forward with an explanation. The Humsafar actress has said that she is not jealous of the appreciation that Saba Qamar has been getting across the border.

She further said that it is totally a hoax claim that she is jealous of Saba. Explaining her stance, she said that Saba is also a Pakistani artist and performed exceptional in Hindi Medium.

The actress, claiming her seniority in the industry, also stated that the actors should continue working on exceptional projects with their outstanding talent so that Pakistan is recognized throughout the world.

After Hamza Ali Abbasi’s status update in which he said, “I did not charge anything for this film since its a labour of love for my friends. But I will only be part of promotions if these 2 songs are taken out, otherwise I will refrain from it” while talking about his upcoming film Jawani Phir Nahi Aani one of the local newspapers got in touch with Hamayun Saeed to hear his side of the story. Hamayun Saeed has not only acted in the film but he is also one of the producers.

Quite surprisingly Hamayun Saeed found Hamza Ali Abbasi’s statement amusing and commented, “Won’t promote it? No other actor is promoting the film as enthusiastically as Hamza is!”

Hamza Ali Abbasi also changed his statement and said that he only wanted one scene edited in the songs in which 14 girls wearing bikinis are shown in the beach alongwith the leading males. Hamayun Saeed also talked about whether Hamza Ali Abbasi was being paid for the film or not. He said, “He hasn’t asked me for the money, yes that’s true. But he is being paid. I don’t know if he has already received payment because I haven’t checked with the accounts department but he will be paid the amount stated on the contract he signed.”

Hamayun Saeed also said that Hamza’s claim that he was not participating in the promotions were very wrong. He said, “The buzz that Hamza’s Facebook statuses have generated (he has nearly two-and-a-half million followers) has benefited the film tremendously in terms of publicity. Also, Hamza has been giving interviews so what exactly does he mean when he says he won’t promote the film?”

Hamayun Saeed said that it is unprofessional of Hamza Ali Abbasi to say things like this at this time when the film has wrapped up. He also said that Jawani Phir Nahi Aani is the kind of film the viewers will enjoy.

Mawra Hocane talked about her recent experience with the Bollywood producers and directors in Farah Hussain’s Morning Show. Mawra Hocane made it very clear that she is not going to do any such acts in her films which will be unacceptable for her Pakistani fans. She said that this is not the first time she was offered a Bollywood film but this was the first time that she chose to be a part of the Bollywood venture because every time she got an offer the sentiments and expectations of the viewers in Pakistan were at the back of her mind.

Mawra Hocane said that no one in Bollywood forces you to be bold, it is the choice of the actor what kind of script he wants to do. She also said that she found the producers and directors very cooperative, if you are not comfortable with a scene they will have no problem chopping it down. Mawra also told Farah that Indians had seen the Pakistani dramas now because of which they have a clear idea what the limit of Pakistani actors are so they too do not expect them to cross these limits unless someone is willing to do so.

The talented actress said that she does not have a competitive nature at all. She never works to compete with other actresses but only to give her work her best because that is what she wants to do. Does Mawra feel threatened by all the divas in Bollywood? The answer is not at all! Mawra thinks that the Pakistani drama industry was full of gifted actresses too when she started working but she made her mark here so why can’t she do the same in Bollywood.

Danish Taimoor and Ayeza Khan are giving more and more interviews now and their fans cannot get enough of these love birds too. Every time they appear in a show they tell their fans something new about themselves. This time Danish Taimoor in particular shared something that will come as a shock and disappoint many of his fans. Danish shared that he wanted to be known as a film star now. Danish said the reason for this is,

“In India too people who are seen in dramas all the time are not the ones who are known as film stars. Film stars are different from TV stars and they are seen in films only. Who will buy a ticket of 600 rupees to see me in a film if they see me on television all the time. I want to contribute to the revival of Pakistani film industry therefore I will only be seen in films now.”

This is not the only reason Danish wants to stick to films alone. Another reason he said was,

“All the drama scripts are the same. I am fed up of playing the same kind of characters and being part of the same dramas. I am done with being the husband of two wives and all the other scripts like that.”

Ayeza Khan said that Danish was offered a lot of dramas but all of them are the same kind of dramas so he wants to do films only now. Danish also said that acting was not how he earned his livelihood so he would much rather do what he wants to do then doing things he is sick and tired of.

Ayeza Khan and Danish Taimoor also talked about their life together and how they had both changed after getting married.

Urwa Hocane

Urwa Hocane is one of the most critically acclaimed actresses of Pakistan. She has been a part of our industry for a while now and has been a part of both films and dramas. She worked in mega-hit projects. Mushk starlet got married to Farhan Saeed in 2016. They were considered to be one of the most adorable couples in the industry. There have been rumors of their separation but none of them have confirmed the news.

Mohib Mirza

Mohib Mirza is one of the most refined actors in our industry. Mohib Mirza got married to model turned actress Aamina Sheikh in 2005. In 2018 the couple got divorced due to irreconcilable differences. Together they have a daughter Meissa.

Sonia Mishal

Sonia Mishal is a Pakistani drama actress known for her characters in dramas including Ishqaway and Dampukht Aatish-e-Ishq. Sonia Mishal is a very private person and she never shared anything about her personal life on social media. But according to all the information available, she is not married yet.

Jinaan Hussain

Sarmad Khoosat’s most appreciated drama till now Hamsafar will air on the Zindagi channel in India next week. Even before the drama went on air everyone there already wants to know more about the director who made this drama what it was. Indian newspaper Times Of India interviewed Sarmad Khoosat and asked him question specifically related to his relationship with Fawad Khan since they have worked together in two dramas.

Sarmad Khoosat was very finest on his questions, in fact his replies may shock many people. “I like Fawad as an actor and a star but our approach and our process of working don’t match and for me the process of filming a drama or a film is more important than the outcome”, said Sarmad Khoosat.

“Our actor-director relationship was extremely nice till Humsafar but after that I had reservations about a few things with him.” Fawad’s next drama which Sarmad directed was Ashk which clearly showed that it was not Sarmad’s best work. Sarmad Khoosat never owned Ashk the way he owned Shehr-e-Zaat which also aired at about the same time.

When Sarmad Khoosat was asked if he will ever work with Fawad Khan again or not, he said, “It’s nothing like that. There is no animosity between us. I might work with him in future. I feel Fawad, Mahira and I should work together again. But I don’t have a feeling that ‘Oh, I want to do something with Fawad’. My wish list does not have him.”

Sarmad Khoosat is happy with all the success which Fawad Khan has bagged in India. “He deserves it. He is a great actor. I am very happy that people love him here because he is so talented. This should hopefully lead to more exchange between the two countries because they are so similar in culture and people that I don’t even feel I am in a different nation whenever I am in India,” said Sarmad.

Adnan Sami moved to India nearly 18 years ago and yet he is found to be giving explanations to people about his decision.

“Well, you see, God made the world as one. All these borders that divide it were put there by man. I believe wherever you want to live is your prerogative and wherever I want to live is my prerogative; my personal choice,” added Adnan. “Thousands of people go to foreign countries to further their careers. Don’t our doctors go to the UK or the US? I am focused on South Asian music and Mumbai is the place to be for that.”

Adnan further talked about what made him apply for the Indian passport:

“My Pakistani passport was due for renewal but for some reason or the other, the process was being delayed,” revealed the composer. “I became stateless for some time. Then, the Indian authorities gave me a Permanent Residence Permit and eventually, I decided to apply for Indian citizenship too. And as you know, I had to denounce my Pakistani citizenship for that.”

While commenting on how he does limited work, he said:

“If you look at the last 30 years of my career, you’ll see that I’ve always been very selective,” he replied, when compares to the current it-kid of Bollywood music, singer Arijit Singh.

“I have never wanted to become a music factory, you know?”

He is still fond of the music scene in Pakistan:

“I think what Rohail Hyatt did on Coke Studio was remarkable! And when I heard Farida Khanum’s performance on the show, I started crying! I had to call her up to convey my emotions”.

Artists and their craze for cosmetic surgery is nothing infamous, we’ve seen many celebrities getting these done to look younger and better. The most common of all are spouts, fillers and Botox, many celebrities are transforming every now and then but there are some of those too who prefer to stay original. Zhalay Sarhadi, the girl with a beautiful face and an amazing physique was the latest one to be labeled with cosmetic surgery

She was sick of getting comments from people and decided to pour her heart out to clear the air. In the Facebook post, she wrote:

“To whomever it may concern. My lips are my own since my birth, no Botox or fillers! Please stop messaging me and bombarding me with hate messages just because I can change myself with makeup!”

“Trust me love my self at the moment and in future if i feel like I need extreme help, I am not adverse tot he idea! Till then diet, exercise and awesome makeup skills are my besties! Cheers,” she added further.

Fatima Effendi and Kanwar Arsalan are a famous young star couple of our showbiz industry. They are always seen together in talk shows and they love to travel. This star couple was invited to Aplus’ Morning Show Mehakti Morning in which she shared many things about their married life. Fatima Effendi shared,

“I was never the nagging sort but marriage and getting pregnant soon after changed my life in many ways. Normally when girls get married they move to another house and have to adjust to a new family but for me everything changed. I had a very busy life before marriage, I was going to the University in the morning, doing shoots in the evening and was up all night doing assignments. When I was expecting Almir, I left my work and the University had finished too so I was home all day long. It was then that I used to take out all my frustration on Kanwar.”

Kanwar said that their real life love story is very filmi. He said,

“We met on the sets of our first drama together. Gradually I realized that we have a lot in common and I really liked her but she was very young at that time and I did not want to hurt her in any way. We were separated and out of touch for a long time after that.”

Fatima Effendi said that Kanwar is very unexpressive and she was the one who had to push him to reveal his feelings. Fatima said that they were best friends but she told Kanwar that they could only continue being friends if he revealed his real feelings for her. Kanwar said,

“That is why I backed out because I was not ready to get married. But when we were apart for a few days I realized that this is the girl I want to spend the rest of my life with.”

This time Sarwat Gillani was the victim of internet curiosity and unwanted questions after the birth of her second baby boy, Araiz. People were asking her left, right and centre about how many kids she wants to have and whether she is having another one soon.

Sarwat has set the record straight with a clear reply cum warning on her Facebook account. Here is what she wrote;

We have to agree with her on this. She is an actress and people should keep their comments to that aspect of her life only. Her kids and how she plans them are not something people should feel entitled to discuss. Hopefully, they will consider themselves warned and refrain from indulging into the private life of hers or any other celebrity for that matter.

Amir Khan, the Pakistani boxer who has won a big name for himself in UK might not be all Pakistani since he was born in UK and has spent all his life abroad but there is no denying the fact that this man is patriotic to the core. Amir Khan has kept his connection with his country intact even after getting so much popularity internationally and he is working very hard to learn Urdu. Amir Khan wants to do something to help those in need in Pakistan because he thinks that he is in a position to do that now. What he achieved is nothing small. So how did he manage to get where he is today? While talking to the morning show host Farah he said,

” The secret behind my success have to be my parents – their support. My father has been to all of my fights, my uncle has always supported me, they have never missed even one of my fights. They always come to all the fights. If I needed boxing equipment, they got me that. They were always there. You know when you are in a boxing ring it is a very lonely place. They were always there to watch me and support me which is a nice thing. Plus the people in Pakistan and the people in UK, they pray for me so much. I pray all the time too even before the fight.”

Talking about his family life and background he said,

“My father moved to England when he was 8, I have lived there all my life but my background is Pakistani.”

Amir Khan also shared that his father started taking him for boxing classes because he was a very aggressive kid. He said,

“Boxing changed my life, it stops you from fighting on the street. It adds discipline to your life.”

Amir Khan is also trying hard to learn Urdu and his wife is helping him too. Talking about his marital life he said,

“I am working a lot on learning Urdu. It was tough for my wife to move from New York to England. I am a good husband and whatever she says I normally do.”

Amir Khan has visited Pakistan only six or seven times but he loves all the attention her gets here and wants to do something positive for Pakistan.

“I am not a champion for myself or for UK but I am a champion for Pakistan as well and I want young people in Pakistan to follow me, I want to be like a role model to them. It makes me happy when people come to me and say we are such big fans.”

Amir Khan also said that majority of his fan base in England is that of women.

“I do a lot of charity work and I go on social media a lot. I engage with my fans, people like that.”

Ayesha Omar recently gave an interview to Instep and talked about films, TV, music and her car accident.

She has an exciting year ahead of her. She has a film coming up as well a music based reality TV show.

“I’m in Lahore these days for the second last spell of shooting for my upcoming movie, Rehbra with Ahsan Khan. We have one more spell in Karachi before the movie is turned over to post production and amusingly enough, it’s set to be released nearly side by side with my other film, Yalghaar around October or so.

You can call it a journey of self discovery for my character in the film. Her name is Bubbly and she’s a middle class Punjabi girl who’s very happy go lucky and true to her name until tragedy befalls her and she has to evolve in order to overcome it.

It’s a fun character and a very new look for me. She dresses very differently from what my personal aesthetic is so I’m also quite excited about how the look will be received,” said Ayesha.

She even talked about the team of production and direction of the film:

“The producers of this film don’t belong to a movie background and this is their first foray into the business so it’s definitely a learning experience. My director, Amin Iqbal has extensive experience with dramas but it’s also his first film. He and his enterprising team of interns are quite creative and innovate a lot which is great and I’ve learnt a lot from them.”

After her films, she has a music based reality TV show coming up too.

When the discussion moved towards her health, she had to say:

“I’ve been walking around with a broken collar bone since my accident over a year ago you see. The doctor wanted to wait six months before operating to see if it would heal on its own but unfortunately that hasn’t been the case with me.

I need an operation to set the bone right and then obviously my movement will be restricted during the time I’m recuperating from the procedure. It’s been quite challenging managing with a broken bone. I was lucky that it wasn’t a weight bearing bone like my leg or my arm but obviously my ability to perform certain tasks is impaired. I can’t even lift a 1.5 litre water bottle with that arm but thank God I’ve managed to complete all my professional commitments,” said Ayesha.
