Ali Abbas recently appeared on Samaa TV’s show Gup Shab, hosted by Vasay Chaudhary. He mentioned that he also fell prey to this, stating, “I was being rejected in the dramas at the last moment, it happened with me in many dramas. The AD used to call me and say that we are not doing work with you, and the reasons I got to know were that certain actresses did not want to work with me. It is not the case anymore; I am talking about the time when I was new. Now, I have worked with all those actresses as a hero but at that time they didn’t want to work with me”

The Hum TV Network is busy working on there 1st HUM Jazz Style Awards 2016. HUM TV has partnered with Mobilink for the event. Rehearsals are on its peak, as the event will take place on October 28, 2016, in Karachi. The award ceremony will honor the showbiz, fashion, sports and music industry. The award will be having 22 categories.

The QMobile HUM Style Awards 2016 are scheduled to take place on 28th October in Karachi  and will be having notable celebrities and artists from Pakistan’s fashion, music, sports, drama and film industry receiving awards for presenting style at its best. The rehearsals for the event are at its peak , have a look at the pictures.

The 4th HUM Awards are going to be held in Karachi this weekend. The HUM Awards show is always a grand affair which many people look forward to. The show will be hosted by Ahmed Ali Butt, Vasay Chaudhry and Hamza Ali Abbasi. All the stars who are going to perform on the award show are busy in rehearsals. Sohai Ali Abro, Mawra Hocane and Urwa Hocane’s performance appears to be the highlight of this award show. Rehan Sheikh’s star studded movie Azad is now set to release on the ninth of February of this month. The movie was first thought to appear in cinema screens in 2017 but got delayed.

Film, Janaan came out two months ago, but it’s only now that the film’s co-producer, Reham Khan decided to share why she chose actress Armeena Rana Khan for playing the female lead.

Talking to Express Tribune, Reham Khan shared, “I picked Armeena because of her accent and intonation. The character was written with Armeena in mind. Her petite frame and her delicate voice was what I was looking for to describe how a woman can be strong despite being very feminine. My story required an overseas accent but an actor who could speak Urdu too.”

Reham Khan wants to work with actors who are relatively new to the film industry. Satisfied with the Janaan experience, she wants to continue to contribute to Pakistani cinema. ”It gives me even more courage to stand tall and not allow any negativity to be a hindrance in way of what I want to achieve.”

The story by Hasan Ansari says

Reham will reportedly make her production debut with a Pashto film about Pashtun poet Khushal Khan Khattak.

Although there is no official verification of the news from Reham, recent posts on the Reham Khan Twitter account (@RehamKhan1) suggest it holds true.

“Reviving Pashto culture and history. For example, one of the films is about Khushal Khan Khattak,” read Reham’s tweet. She also shared on the micro-blogging website that three writers are currently working on the film.

Apart from producing a Pashto film, Reham will also helm an Urdu comedy film. Babar Sheikh, managing partner of Tiger Entertainment and spokesperson of the film projects, quoted Reham as saying, “Film is the only medium through which we can portray the real image of our society to the world.”

“Our aim is to remove all the misconceptions about Pashtuns in society through a light, comedy Pashto film,” Reham said, according to Babar.

According to him, Reham also stated, “The Urdu film is an all-out comedy based on a serious problem that our society is faced with.”

Although the production team didn’t divulge any important details of the film, Babar mentioned that while the Pashto film’s director is yet to be finalised, the Urdu film will be directed by Azfar Jafri, who has the thriller film Siyaah (2013) to his credit.

Verifying the news, Azfar said that he is yet to sign the film but has committed to taking up the project. The films are currently in pre-production stage and are expected to begin filming soon.

On the question of whether Reham’s experience in broadcast journalism will help her in the filmmaking process, Babar put forth her comments: “As a journalist, I have witnessed firsthand the miseries people face but also their wonderful spirit. I am inspired by Pakistanis and want to show the world who we really are – a loving, generous nation.”

She was reported to have added, “I have travelled to some of the most exquisite yet undiscovered locations [in Pakistan], which I want to showcase in my films. Pakistan needs to be shown in its true light. We have been misrepresented for too long. It’s time to bring our smiles back.”

Reham reportedly proclaimed that with her personal experience paired with a team of young and talented people, who produced the award-winning film Siyaah, she looks towards a “refreshing start for our film industry.”
