Khuda Aur Mohabbat Season 01 Overview – Love Story Done Right!

0

Ohkay so, the writing of Hashim Nadeem & the direction of Anjum Shehzad, Khuda Aur Mohabbat aired on Geo TV back in 2011. Now when the Season 02 of Khuda Aur Mohabbat is going to commence this Saturday, I decided to binge watch the 1st season so that I have an idea about what the plot of the drama was. I must say, it was a beautiful journey & I can’t really remember how many times I got emotional watching the sufferings of the main characters. Just when Dhaani drama began, I remember a lot of readers commented that the plot of Dhaani was similar to Khuda Aur Mohabbat, so yes, I will say that I found quite a lot of similarities between both the dramas but when the character of Hammad began his journey of self-discovery, he made me forget about Dhaani completely because honestly, I feel the character of Hammad is far more likable & stronger than the character of Sameer in Dhaani.

So, the story of Khuda Aur Mohabbat revolved around the two families; the family of Commissioner Amjad Raza (Firdous Jamal) & the family of Molvi Aleemuddin (Salman Shahid). Amjad Raza’s family included his wife & three sons, Sajjad, Hammad (Imran Abbas) & Ibaad. Molvi Aleemuddin had two daughters Imaan (Sadia Khan) & Haya & his nephew Abdullah (Ahmed Jehanzeb) also lived with them since childhood because his parents passed away. Amjad Raza belonged to a financially sound background already & his ancestors had a lot of property in the village, but Amjad Raza chose to educate himself & he moved out of the village. He made a name for himself, became a bureaucrat & gave his family a luxurious & comfortable life. On the other hand, like the name suggests, Molvi Aleemuddin was a very simple & humble cleric who barely made a living for his family but all that he wanted & worked for all his life was respect & dignity.

Hammad gets to see Imaan & that is when he falls in love with her, only to discover himself & discover the value & importance of everything in his life. Hammad’s love for a very simple girl allows him to see the real face of his family members & shatters the trust he had in them ever. Hammad’s sister in law Abrina (Farah Shah) wants Hammad to get married to her younger sister but Hammad doesn’t budge because by then, his love for Imaan takes control over his mind & heart & that is when Hammad’s love creates problems for him & Imaan’s family. Hammad’s mother insults Molvi Sahab & that is when Hammad decides that he will eliminate any such person who would oppose his love. That becomes a turning point in his life & his emotional transition begins, where he finds himself, his love, his love for Almighty & his entire perspective on life changes but the base remains the same & that happens to be his love for Imaan.

After leaving his home & family, Hammad starts working as a coolie to be able to make some money for himself but till that point, he lives a very purposeless life until one day he meets a stranger who makes him familiar with the idea of love of Almighty & religion. After putting forth his proposal for Imaan in front of Molvi Sahab, Hammad does realize that he doesn’t fit the bill of Molvi Aleemuddin’s choice for his son-in-law, so he also takes it as a hint to explore what religion has to offer to him but while he is at it, he shows more acceptance towards it & accepts it wholeheartedly, without any hidden agenda of impressing Molvi Aleemuddin or to show him that he has had a change of heart.

When Hammad leaves his home, he comes across so many people like Siddique (Mohsin Gillani), Najma (Fazila Qazi) & Abdul Ghafoor (Shafqat Cheema) who didn’t have the money his father had, but only had love & consideration to offer to him & they immediately become his family who not only feel for him, but stay by his side through thick & thin. Like I said before, Hammad’s character is far more likable & respectable in comparison to Sameer because Hammad had a backbone, he had a personality, he had a mind & more than that, he had a determination & a will to love Imaan to such an extent where he left all his wealth, comforts, family & luxury for her sake. I loved how they introduced Hammad’s character because he was always shown to be a kindhearted human being who always connected with people emotionally irrespective of what their social standing was, that is the reason we saw how Hammad shared a cordial relation with his driver Shakir (Khalid Butt) & his daughter Nighat.

collage-03

Molvi Aleemuddin feels pressurized & that is when he decides to get Imaan married to her cousin Abdullah, who also loves Imaan but doesn’t say much. After seeing the sufferings of Hammad & the change in his entire personality, Abdullah feels that may be he & his uncle are being unfair to Imaan. Imaan feels burdened as she considers herself responsible for Hammad’s sufferings, that is when she decides to meet him, only to tell that she has nothing to offer to him & requests him to return to his family & his life that he had left for her. Imaan does feel the intensity of Hammad’s love for her but she chooses to ignore it as she can never think of letting her father’s trust on her down, that is why, after meeting Hammad for the last time & rejecting him, her health starts to deteriorate & it costs her, her life, that too at such a moment where Molvi Aleemuddin does get convinced that Hammad is capable of getting married to Imaan & that way, this love story ends tragically.

I must say, the way the writer had written Hammad’s character & the way the director showed his transition was beautiful. This entire journey was so enticing & captivating that it just didn’t allow my mind to divert at all. Even though it is a done deal that Imran Abbas is a phenomenal actor, but his acting as Hammad was so convincing. Imran Abbas made everything, like Hammad’s love for Imaan, his restlessness, his grief, his hope, his efforts, his speechlessness every time his eyes met Imaan’s, just so beautiful that I couldn’t help feel his pain. I must say, I didn’t expect to see such an ending & till the end I was hopeful that may be Hammad & Imaan will get to be together & may be all the prayers & all the efforts of Hammad won’t go to waste & he will get Imaan as a reward for all the struggles that he did till day but Alas! They weren’t meant to be.

I loved how simple the approach of the director was, it just made things a lot more real & convincing. The director for sure extracted the best acting out of all the actors, be it the protagonists or the supporting actors, each & every actor did a convincing job & the writer made all the characters seem quite important, like there was not even a single character that I can pick which wasn’t needed in this story. This story highlighted so many factors about how society puts pressures on people irrespective of which social class they belong to. Even though Molvi Aleemuddin knew that Hammad’s wish was not wrong & he was not at fault for wanting to get married to Imaan but he was too scared about his image getting ruined & also about the class difference between them that he didn’t accept Hammad’s proposal, even after seeing how much he changed. This drama highlighted the fact that people measure their strength & respect based on how much wealth they have garnered all their lives, that is why Hammad’s family doesn’t accept his love for Molvi’s daughter & Molvi Aleemuddin doesn’t accept Hammad knowing that he belongs to a very different world. I loved how Imaan took care of her father’s wishes & didn’t even think about going against his decision, she actually understood all the struggles her father had been through in his life to earn respect & make a name for himself, that is why she chose to stick with her father’s decision despite knowing that the idea of Hammad loving her to such an extent will haunt her all her life.

I am glad that I decided to watch Khuda Aur Mohabbat & after watching it, I know that I missed a very nice drama, which was filled with some beautiful characters, a lot of emotions, some amazing dialogues, some very meaningful conversations, beautiful performances & a heart-warming & unique love story. I loved the OST of this drama too, however I do have an issue with the lyrics but keeping that aside, I also feel it was used a bit too much that after a few episodes it lost its charm. The direction was amazing & I couldn’t help but rejoice at the fact that it only had 14 episodes. Imran Abbas once again made me a fan of his acting, he surely is one of the best actors of all times & I am actually excited to see him in Khuda Aur Mohabbat Season 02. Please share your thoughts about Khuda Aur Mohabbat Season 01 & do let me know if you’re excited for Season 02?

Khuda Aur Mohabbat S02E02 Review – A Feel Good Drama!

Ohkay so, this episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat was pretty good. Even though knowing the story beforehand is a drawback for those who have watched the first season, but what makes this season worth a watch is the fact that it is a feel good drama. I have started to appreciate the detailing the director has added this time around because that way when the story will progress, we will get a chance to relate to the characters more & more.

This episode gave us an insight into all the characters & their perspective about love & life in general. We have Hammad, who doesn’t believe in the emotion of love, that is why he makes fun of his friend who says that he is in love. Hammad is a non-serious & an irresponsible sort of a person which is only because he has lived such a comfortable life till date. Hammad has never developed a sense of responsibility because his life never demanded him to be responsible in the first place. Hammad lives such a life where everything, every luxury is just a call away from him, that is why this comfort has shaped up his character like that, but what I liked the most about Hammad is that he may be non-serious, but he most certainly is not immature. Hammad is also not someone who runs away from his family, in fact he holds his relationships close to his heart, that is the reason why he is seen being connected to each & every single family member of his, starting from his father to his nephew Sunny. Another great quality that Hammad possesses is the fact that he takes care of every single person around him, that is why he tells Emaad that he will be sending some presents for Shakir & Nighat, which he should hand over to them without informing their family about it. It shows that Hammad might not want to be in Pakistan for long, but it doesn’t mean that he has forgotten all those people who he spent a chunk of his life with. I must say, I like how they are developing the characters & giving us some more details about them with each passing episode.

While Hammad is someone who finds the idea of love funny, we have Imaan, who actually finds beauty in every emotion one feels. She is a very subtle character & is quite introvert, but she does have a personality & she does have emotions that she likes to keep to herself. Imaan can be labelled as a dreamer because of which she loves her books & stays lost in them. Sunny seems to have become a part of Molvi Sahab & his family’s life, that is why he is getting influenced by them. Sunny loves spending time with Imaan & Haya too & their scenes were done beautifully.

Abdullah has arrived & on Molvi Aleemuddin’s request, he chooses to live with them. Abdullah likes Imaan too, that is why he feels content by being connected to Imaan & enjoys being surrounded by Imaan’s belongings. Aleemuddin has started depending on Abdullah too, that is why slowly & steadily he has started to involve him in the matters related to the Masjid he takes care of.

Hammad finally decides to come to Pakistan but that is only because he feels like & not because he got influenced by his mother or father’s requests. Hammad is someone who does what he deems fit that is why now when he felt like, he came to Pakistan to spend some time with his family. Amjad wants Hammad to take care of his business so that he can be focused on his political career but Hammad doesn’t fancy the idea. I must say I really liked the bond Hammad & Emaad shared, it’s like whenever Hammad wanted to know all the latest happenings in his family, he would speak to Emaad.

Overall, this episode was a good watch. I must say the precap of the next episode made me hopeful because looks like they are not going to slow down the pace a lot & will keep moving things forward, which is definitely necessary, otherwise I felt that may be a lot of detailing will compromise on the pace of the drama in general. All the actors are doing a brilliant job, it was good to see Imran Abbas getting more coverage in this episode & getting to showcase his amazing acting skills. Sadia Khan looks beautiful as Imaan but I wish even she gets more coverage & dialogues. The entire scene where Hammad is questioning the cupid & the door of Imaan’s room opens was quite filmy & interesting, it’s like they have added the quotient of telepathy between the two which is something definitely unique. I had a good time watching this episode & I hope you guys did too & oh before concluding the review, I would like to mention that I loved watching the scenes which Sunny was a part of, finally we have a kid who actually looks & acts like a kid – innocent, cute & definitely not pakka hua. On that note, this is it from my side, please share your thoughts about this lovely episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat.

Khuda Aur Mohabbat S02E01 Review – & The Journey Begins!

Ohkay so, the production of Babar Javed, script based on the novel written by Hashim Nadeem & the direction of Syed Ali Raza; Khuda Aur Mohabbat Season 02 hit our TV screens tonight. I must say, I am really glad with the treatment that they have given to the story in this season of Khuda Aur Mohabbat because I feel things are a lot more details & the scenarios are being established properly in comparison to the previous season. However, I will say that those who haven’t watched the first season are in a plus because it seems that the entire story is going to be repeated in this season in order to give it & the character of Hammad a proper closure. I just binge-watched the first season & even though I loved it, I still feel that if I had a slightest idea about the plot of the season 02, I would never have watched it to enjoy this ride even more, but nonetheless, I am definitely looking forward to this journey & I will say, that this version does seem to be bigger & better, so it’s a success already. So, yes, my suggestion to those viewers/readers who are planning to watch season 01 would be that they should skip it & enjoy season 02 in stead as they wouldn’t miss a thing!

The drama begins with a narration where the war between love & the Gods of this world is being discussed. The narrator does have a point, that The One who created Love can never oppose it, but it is the self-proclaimed Gods of this world who deem it as their duty to go against it & deprive people of this emotion.

We are introduced to a care-free guy & his couple of friends having the time of their lives. They’re the university students & seem to have no worry in their lives because the life has not thrown a curve-ball on them, yet! Suddenly, we see a shift in the scenario & get introduced to a Muaddin & his family in the following scenes. This happens to be the household of Molvi Aleemuddin (Firdous Jamal), whose family consists of his wife Rasheeda & two daughters Imaan (Sadia Khan) & Haya. We get an insight into their family set up & their lifestyle which is very humble & very simple. It is quite evident that Molvi Aleemuddin has kept his family closer to the religion & has shaped the characters of his family members that way. In the following scene, we get an insight into an entire different world, which happens to be a family of the retired commissioner Amjad Raza (Usman Peerzada) & his Wife (Saba Faisal). Amjad Raza has three sons Sajjad, Hammad (Imran Abbas) & Emaad. Sajjad is married to Abrina & has a son Sunny. Emaad is preparing to go abroad for further studies & it seems that the second son Maddy is already in abroad pursing his education. After retiring as a commissioner, Amjad Raza has stepped into politics because according to him, power means everything & he would go to any lengths to further expand the list of his achievements!

collage-01

Hammad is having the time of his life in Houston & it seems that he is not even focused much on his education & is not worried about his future because he is well aware of the social class that he belongs to. Maddy knows that his father has earned & achieved a lot in his life & that is why he acts like a typical spoiled brat who has no sense of responsibility. Maddy’s childhood friend Kami has also gone to USA with him & it seems that Maddy is Kami’s safety net!

collage-02

Shakir happens to be Amjad Raza’s driver & he also looks after the Purani Haveli that Amjad Raza owns. Shakir has been working for this family since the time Amjad’s father was alive & Amjad himself used to study abroad, that is the reason why Amjad’s entire family trusts Shakir & depends on him. Shakir lives in one of the quarters of the Purani Haveli but before moving to the quarters, he was a neighbor of Molvi Aleemuddin, that is why their families are on very good terms with each other & Shakir’s daughter Nighat seems to be Imaan’s best friend as well.

collage-03

As the story unfolded, we got to know how Rasheeda was worried about the household expenses because Molvi Aleemuddin taught Holy Qur’an to his students free of cost, but his wife felt that he was being a little too generous. That is when Shakir’s wife tells Rasheeda that Amjad’s grandson Sunny wants to learn Holy Qur’an as well, so she should convince Molvi Aleemuddin to take the job because it will make things easier for them financially. Shakir also requests Molvi Aleemuddin to teach Sunny as he actually wants to help him & eventually convinces him. We got to see that Molvi Aleemuddin is a very admirable character but he is capable of getting a little stern when things don’t go his way. Molvi Aleemuddin shares a very strong & beautiful bond with his eldest daughter Imaan, I loved how they showed that both Imaan & her father have long discussions & conversations about different matters revolving around religion. It also seems that Aleemuddin has an attachment with Imaan on another level, that is why he takes utmost care of her needs & necessities!

It seems that Aleemuddin’s nephew Abdullah (Humayun Ashraf) is coming to stay with him for the sake of his education too & his mother is interested in getting Abdullah married to Imaan. Abdullah also seems interested in Imaan & that is why he seemed happy with his move where he will get to be around Aleemuddin’s family, especially Imaan!

Overall, the first episode introduced all the characters in detail & gave us an insight into their lives appropriately. I must say I am actually quite glad that they decided to make things a lot more elaborate, because it was necessary for all the viewers to have a fresh start & fall in love with the beautiful characters once again. The director surely has taken the level of the script a notch higher with his immaculate direction & all the actors seemed to be owning their characters already, at such an initial stage of the drama, which once again is a bonus. I wish Maddy’s character got a little more coverage in this episode but it’s alright as he already is the main character of the drama so he will get a lot more chances to leave an impact on us. I will say that I see a great improvement in Sadia Khan’s acting & she looked lovely throughout the episode. Imran Abbas makes all his character look so real due to his effortless acting, so I am already looking forward to his performance as Hammad. I will commend Firdous Jamal for such a beautiful recitation of Fajr Prayer, it was actually quite touching. Firdous Jamal’s overall mannerisms showed the amount of effort he put in to own the character of Molvi Aleemuddin & his performance testified his experience as an actor, that is why, he turned out to be the star of this episode. I can’t wait for the next episode already as I know we have so much in store for us. Please share your thoughts about the very first episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat!

Khuda aur Mohabbat OST Season 2 versus Khuda aur Mohabbat OST Season 3

0

OSTs have become an integral part of our drama serials. Watched Khuda aur Mohabbat Season 3’s OST and tried to find depth and meaning that touches your emotions and sets the scene for what to expect. I listened to it two or three times, but it lacks the essence of the message it aims to convey.

Khuda aur Mohabbat OST Season 2 versus Khuda aur Mohabbat OST Season 3

It compelled me to search for OST of Khuda and Mohabbat Season 2 and there was no comparison. The poetry, singing, and composition complimented so well to reach out to the audience. After a dry season of dramas, with quality production and direction but zero story, I moved away from Pakistani dramas. I came across season 2 last year on Amazon prime. Thought of giving it a try and it ended up being a surprising treat.

A meaningful story with powerful dialogues and above all intelligent direction made it a rare commodity for me. Such a brilliant story executed so well created a masterpiece. Use of flashback scenes and dialogues throughout reflects the intelligent art of screenwriting, direction, and editing. I have not watched S3 yet as I wait for the serial to end before I watch it, so judging the drama by its OST alone will be unfair and it is like judging a book by its cover. But there is no comparison between the OSTs, they are poles apart.

Khuda aur Mohabbat OST Season 2 versus Khuda aur Mohabbat OST Season 3

Season 2 has the soul and depth and sounds true to the title and gives us an insight into the story, while season 3 is like any other filmy song.

I believe it is the same story in a different setting and circumstances, but the core message is the same. The OST of S3 fails to deliver that. While Khdua and Mohabbat S2 OST lyrics are the message in itself. Just look at the lines written by the poet:

Karoun sjda aik Khuda ko…
Dono hi aik Khuda aur Mohabbat….

Khuda ke nam pe sjday mein sir jukna ibaddat hai
Wo dil Allah ka ghar hai ke jis dil mein mohabbat hai…..

Mohabbat tu Khuda bhi hai
Khudai bhi Mohabbat hai…

Mera jena ibaddat hai mera, marna mohabbat hai….
Khuda ke nam

When the music composition of these words and emotions match, an incredible piece of art is created. Music breathes life to these words. When the right voice is used to complement these words, the music created becomes sensational.

It is reminiscent of an important quote “Love one another because love comes from God. Whoever loves is a child of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love.” We need depth to understand that as we tend to think of love as romance only but fail to understand that love is universal and to love God you must love His people.

Season 2 had skillful craft written all over it. The story, setting, dialogues, screenwriting, and direction all came together perfectly. Flashback of dialogues and scenes throughout makes it incredibly unique, not only that the perfect use of the right verse of the song to define the moment has been used dynamically.

Episode 13 of Season 2 was the defining moment, the essence of pure love and respect, the dialogues and direction with the backdrop of rain throughout added to the intensity of the scenes. Was so mesmerized by it that had to look up the intelligence behind it all – Syed Ali Raza.

Wish we could invest more time to explore life around us and to tell stories that might be rare but true and relatable.

Khuda Aur Mohabbat Last Episode Review – The End!

Ohkay so, even though I had mixed feelings while watching the episode but the first & the last scene of this episode saved this entire drama for me. The last scene of this episode, rather drama put the emphasis on the bigger purpose that the writer had in his mind while he was writing this story that the love of Creator is everything one can wish for & one should strive for. It won’t be a lie if I will say that I am a tad bit disappointed with Isaac’s supposed & quick redemption & Hammad’s final decision of not accepting Sarah in his life, but if I see things separately, then they sure make sense, however one thing, rather one character that still didn’t make any sense till date was of Isaac, like he is beyond my comprehension.

Now speaking of the overall season where the drama-makers promised to show us the complete story, I still am not entirely happy with the way things progressed after the 16th episode. 16 out of 23 episodes, which makes 70% of the drama were dedicated to the first half of the novel, which didn’t leave any room for complaints because it was executed so brilliantly. However, if I speak about the remaining 7 episodes, I am clear about it that I don’t feel the same way about the second half like I did about the first half. They put so much of effort & hard work in the first 16 episodes, so if we see it that way, they only had to work a little harder for only 7 episodes more but not sure what went wrong there because the drama completely lost its charm in these last 7 episodes. The way things were executed in the second half, it suggested as if an entirely different team took over because nothing absolutely nothing matched the level of the first half of the drama. Also, if we see it that way, the team of Khuda Aur Mohabbat should’ve worked extra hard to convey the remaining story because the viewers had already seen the first half in the season which aired in 2011 so this time around, everyone was actually far more interested to see the remaining story but when they came to this part, they treated it like an after-thought which I believe was a wrong approach!

I completely understand that the writer had a bigger picture in mind & he was emphasizing on the love of the Creator but then again, seeing how they made whopping changes in the second half of the story where they changed the characters & the essence, I am left with a feeling that they could have brought Hammad & Sarah together too. I say this not because I am someone who always wants a happy ending, but I am saying this because it would’ve made so much of sense seeing how Hammad & Sarah shared the same ideology & were now at the same page in their lives where they both understood what the love of Allah is, so I think this message would’ve also resonated with so many viewers that two people, who struggled so much because of their religion & their identity were now at a position where their perspectives changed in such a way that they both could complement each other. Imaan never wanted Hammad to sacrifice his entire life for the sake of her love. So, if not completely in love with Sarah, out of sheer respect & for the sake of companionship, Hammad could have accepted Sarah’s love because even she knew that she would never be able to overcome Imaan’s love that Hammad had, but at least, she was ready to accept Hammad with his past that too with a lot of respect. I totally feel if the drama-makers had stayed true to the novel a 100%, then I would have never ever expected them to make these changes too but since they look the second half of the novel so lightly & didn’t really do justice to it, I totally believe that these changes could’ve been made as well!

Coming to this episode, it was all that I dreaded it to be, yes, it was dedicated to Isaac mostly where he was in search of his daughter who left his home because she was tired of his tyranny. Sarah made up her mind & she knew that she had to take a stand for her rights because now she was at such a stage in her life that she knew what the truth was & she detested all the lies that her father fed to her. Isaac was forced to step into the Masjid because he was pushed to that limit, but still he didn’t choose to change. I thought may be this will serve as an eye-opener to him but nothing of that sort happened. I am not too sure why every single time Hammad compared Isaac to Molvi Aleemuddin, not in the beginning but at least in this episode since he made up his mind that he wasn’t going to accept Sarah’s feelings, so to see him use the word ‘Mohabbat’ for this aspect didn’t really seem convincing & necessary. Yes, Hammad did have a valid point that it is not The Creator but the fake standards set by the society that makes the entire ‘Mohabbat’ difficult but then, this wasn’t the case of love that he was dealing with in comparison to the one he dealt with in the past.

Molvi Aleemuddin at least accepted Hammad’s feelings & regretted being so staunch but Isaac on the other hand stood by his decision that he was never going to accept Hammad, without even giving Hammad a chance to explain that he in the first place had no intention of bringing Sarah into his life. I am not too sure if Isaac redeemed himself because he just cried a bucket for the sake of his daughter but now that his daughter was back, he’d get on with his life & will get back to being his old unreasonable self. I am not sure that his one-liner in the end in Hammad’s praise was enough after series of negativity, bag checking, FBI trolling or his constant attempts of throwing Hammad out of the university. I really think if this is the ending that they had to meet in regards to Isaac’s character, then I am not sure if he deserved the coverage that he got all this while.

So, Sarah grasped all that she learnt from Hammad in such a short span of time. It was good to see that she took Hammad & Imaan’s personalities & their journey as an inspiration to get closer to The Almighty, because even in real life, you never know what it might take for someone to come to the right path. The thing that I’d definitely appreciate would be how they showed that even in such tough circumstances, Hammad never succumbed to the pressures & compromised on his demeanor because this is exactly what attracted Sarah towards him & then the religion that she believed taught him all of that. Hammad & Sarah’s last meeting was so beautiful & heart-breaking at the same time. Sarah still had some hope despite knowing Hammad’s answer but she never once put pressure on him & in stead only grew more respectful towards him. I think for me the best thing in these last 7 episodes would be Hammad & Sarah’s relationship, it was brilliantly executed & was the saving grace of the second half of the drama.

Now that the drama has ended, I think I will only take the first 16 episodes & then Hammad & Sarah’s friendship with me. I still feel the team lost the drive & the motivation they had when they were shooting the entire phase of the story which was set in Pakistan because when they came to the USA, it looked like they all turned their vacation mode on & didn’t really bother about the quality of the drama. I seriously feel if they had to give this treatment to the ending bits of the novel, they shouldn’t have promised the ‘complete story’ or they shouldn’t have made the first half just so perfect because they skyrocketed our hopes & when we entered the second phase of Hammad’s life, it just didn’t live up to the expectations because neither the situations, nor the characters were convincing. Honestly speaking, I feel quite cheated that they chose to tweak with the actual story because I feel it would’ve made so much more impact if they hadn’t made those changes because no matter what one says, I am not ever going to accept a Muslim Islamophobe that they showed in the form Isaac. Yes, I do accept the fact that Muslims can be judgmental & quite a a lot at that but to show a Muslim man just so petty that he would check the bag of a Muslim student just doesn’t make sense at all.

I wish in the second half of the drama, they had shown Hammad’s personality in a more detailed manner because one thing that I heard him say time & again was that it was because of him that people around him like Kamran, Behzaad & now Sarah were facing difficulties. They did show that Hammad was closer to The Almighty but then it would’ve made more sense if they hadn’t shown Hammad complaining about these trials because those who are firm on their faith accept everything as a test from Allah & never blame their luck for what people associated with them must be going through. Even in this episode, Hammad repeated the same thing when he was discussing about Sarah leaving her home. I think if he had only this much of confidence in himself, then Hammad shouldn’t have ever taken the responsibility of getting Sarah familiar with the actual message of Islam.

Anyways, now that the drama is over, I am reminded of the beauty that the first half offered, all the actors, characters & all the beautiful situations that made us connect to this drama on a whole new level. The actors who portrayed the characters of Imaan, Ghafoor, Shakir, Nighat, Haya, Najma, Siddique, Traveler, Abdullah & Kheru really elevated the level of the drama & each one of them contributed in the success of the drama. Rambo was phenomenal as Ghafoor. The actor who played the role of Shakir & Najma brought a lot of warmth in their scenes. The actor who played the role of a Traveler was another beautiful addition to the drama because even though his contribution was limited to a couple of conversations but those conversations changed the course of Hammad’s life. In the second half, the only characters that worked were of Behzaad Lucknowi & Sarah. Humayun Ashraf as Abdullah was quite convincing. The actor playing the role of Kamran did a decent job as Hammad’s best friend, who uplifted his mood when he was down & traveled all the way to Pakistan to bring his friend out of his misery. Hammad’s younger brother Ebaad had a little but decent contribution in the story as well. Firdous Jamal as Molvi Aleemuddin was so convincing that he actually made us detest that character. The eyesores in this drama were Isaac, Rebecca & Zeeshan & unfortunately, not only the characters but the actors were absolutely annoying.

Now coming to the stars of the show, Sadia Khan, Imran Abbas, Kubra Khan & Rambo, what phenomenal performances. Even though I have spoken about Rambo’s performance already but if I speak about the actors & the characters that are my favorites in this drama, Rambo/Ghafoor’s name definitely is in that list. Now coming to the rest of them, Sadia Khan surely improved & brought more charm in Imaan’s character this time around, she had so much of grace & elegance with which she portrayed Imaan’s character & that is why she made us fall in love with Imaan. Kubra Khan was phenomenal as Sarah, because she did the best she could in the circumstances where the rest of the scenarios were faltering. Kubra Khan is a find of our industry & that is why in such a short span of time, she has garnered so much of popularity. Imran Abbas; the man of the show definitely! It is because of Imran Abbas that I am sure a lot of people continued to watch this drama right till the last episode because other than that, after the 16th episode, this drama didn’t have much to offer. Imran Abbas was the perfect choice as Hammad in the previous version of Khuda Aur Mohabbat & in this one too because I firmly believe that there was no other actor who could’ve done justice to Hammad’s character the way Imran Abbas has done, where he made us cry & made our hearts ache with the pain that Hammad went through. My overall mixed feelings apart but yes, the team members deserve a lot of praises & appreciation for the hard work that they put in, especially in the making of the first half of the drama.

I want to thank all those awesome readers who stayed with me throughout this journey, appreciated the reviews & shared their agreements & disagreements in the most civilized manner. Thank you guys once again. Also, special thanks to Imran Abbas who in the initial stages of the drama personally responded to the feedback & the concerns that I would mention in my reviews. Thank you once again. Please share your thoughts about the last episode & the entire journey of Khuda Aur Mohabbat.

Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 30 Story Review – The Proposal

Ohkay so, this was yet another slow episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3 with a few conversations that suggested the development in the story. It is unfortunate that every single episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3 looks like an elaboration of the promos because only the scenes that are highlighted in the promos are the ones that actually make sense, with the rest of the episode filled with fillers. I really think this drama has reached the stage where it is tiring me out & sadly the slow pace doesn’t help either. The actors have surely played their part well but there’s all that they could contribute to the drama in general!

The Proposal

The amusing thing in this entire episode was how the director tried really hard to show that Romana & Chanda Jee were still relevant. Romana showed up at Mazaar out of the blue with a never-ending falsafa. One thing is for sure that Romana is very much in the same city, therefore it shouldn’t take long for Sikandar to find her out if he decides to do that. Chanda & Romana are still being harassed & they are still getting the dialogues revolving around such experiences. While watching the two, I was actually wondering about their contribution to this stage of the story. I think just like Sajal & Naheed exited from the drama, it wouldn’t have made much of a difference if the director had used the same strategy with these characters too because seems like Sikandar is pretty much done with her too so not sure why she is still important to be getting some screen-time!

Farhad was given the responsibility by W&D Dervish to keep things running smoothly in his absence. This is going to serve as one big transition for Farhad where he will be able to test his abilities & see how he can fill Dervish’s shoes. This is something that is going to help Farhad understand & realize his true potential too because so far he was under Dervish’s shadow & didn’t really understand the purpose of his existence. It is interesting to note that Farhad has always gotten such opportunities where he excelled without having much confidence in himself. When he took charge of Rida’s wedding, he impressed everyone around him whereas he never thought of it much. Similarly, he has lost the will to do anything but Dervish still sees the potential in him & knows that he can manage things really well. This opportunity will help Farhad take the steps towards the journey of self-discovery that he hasn’t really understood how to approach so far.

Mahi was presented with yet another proposal & this time around, her family also made her realize how important her decision was & now it was going to affect their lives. Before Mahi’s father spoke to her, I really liked how he voiced his concerns & made it all about Mahi. He knew that they were asking & expecting a lot from Mahi but was again mindful of the fact that he didn’t want to burden her. I am glad such kindness was shown coming from a father who realized how tough things have been for his daughter. Mahi’s mother & sister in law sat there like spectators knowing that the decision has been made & now Mahi was being asked out of courtesy.

Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 30 Story Review - The Proposal

I was never really a fan of Mahi’s brother, I mean I never truly understood his character or his purpose & now seeing him pressurizing Mahi for his political gains was disturbing, to say the least. An emotionally absent brother whose rivalries have already cost Taimoor his life & once again, he was trying to convince his sister to accept the proposal which is going to bring a lot of advantages with it. It is unfortunate that even after so many weeks, these characters just seem like characters without offering any emotional connectivity. Sahiba tried to reason with her husband, probably the 2nd conversation she has had with him in 30 weeks & she was shunned away. At least Sahiba knows what she has done, where she has convinced Mahi that she is in love with Farhad, therefore she knows how hard it is going to be for Mahi.

The ‘new’ flashback scene of Mahi & Farhad showed that they must’ve shot it in the later stages of the drama because both Iqra & Feroze didn’t seem themselves like Mahi & Farhad. Their interaction seemed forced & they weren’t on the same emotional level as they were at the beginning of the drama. They both did look superb in stunning outfits & glam touch up, but the overall vibe of the scene was just off where Iqra acted exactly how she does at this stage, after going through so much.

Superficial

This episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3 was strictly alright. The slow pace has definitely taken away the charm of this drama & just when I have started looking forward to its ending, I barely see it in sight. The director has done the best he could but I really think that beneath the layers of commercialism, he failed to pour soul into this project & this is why it just looks like some actors performing on screen, without an ounce of realism to it. The actors surely have performed well, the execution with all the artiness is also nice but it all seems superficial. Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3 has turned out to be such a drama that I won’t take much longer to forget when it ends which is unfortunate. Anyhow, please share your thoughts about this episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3.

Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 28 Story Review – Important Developments

Ohkay so, after weeks & weeks, this turned out to be a reasonable episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3. The conversations flowed nicely & made a lot of sense & there seemed to be some progress in every single track. I think they have taken their sweet time the way they wanted to, but now it’s necessary to move the story forward & make every single episode packed with a punch. Farhad’s silence & Mahi’s misery have been dragged to the point where it stopped keeping me engaged but now when they crossed paths, things stopped seeming stagnant, which was a much-needed relief.

Important Developments

Jageerdarni approached Mahi’s mother with a lot of wisdom & sensibility. Although Mahi’s mother had all the right to reject Sikandar’s proposal but the points Jageerdarni put forth were convincing enough for Mahi’s mother to consider everything that she said. I found Jageerdarni’s case to be strong & her points valid because Mahi wasn’t alone to have suffered a heartbreak. Jageerdarni too has lost her son but because she is seeing the bigger picture as she said, she buried the grief in her heart to bring joy to her family & keep it intact. Mahi’s mother who at first thought it was impossible was forced to think things through after she saw the kind of treatment her daughter was getting at Jageerdarni’s place. Sikandar’s kids love & respect her, Mahi feels comfortable, Jageerdarni values Mahi more than ever, therefore her mother got to assess the entire situation which was favorable for Mahi. I am glad that Jageerdarni also acknowledged the fact that if Mahi wouldn’t agree to this marriage, her decision will be respected, this was definitely refreshing to hear!

Romana & Chanda have started facing their own struggles but because they both have each others’ support, they are fighting through. The interaction Chanda had with random strangers showed how things might get tougher for them in the future but for now, this was just an introduction they got with a world outside their secure four walls. This particular incident highlighted the fact that women like Chanda & Romana are always vulnerable & end up being easy target for men. The analogy they drew was another bitter truth they both highlighted because they have seen men from all walks of life, feeling entitled & expecting to be treated a certain way by women who are on their own.

Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 28 Story Review - Important Developments

A Meaningful Conversation

The most important part of this episode definitely was the conversation Farhad had with W&D Dervish. The dialogues were profound & meaningful & I will honestly say I enjoyed listening to Farhad’s questions getting thoroughly answered by the Dervish. I will still say I chuckled when at the beginning Farhad asked him who he was because Farhad may not know but the viewers have so far understood that the Dervish happens to be the writer & director of his journey but yes, apart from that, the rest of the conversation proceeded nicely. This was definitely the first time Farhad’s love was given a new direction. He was shown that using this force of love, he could walk on a very different path, the only pre-requisite was the honesty & steadfastness that he needed to hold onto. I felt this conversation linked Farhad’s Mohabbat to the aspect of Khuda that was so far missing in his journey & the rest of the story. I am hoping after this episode, I’ll get to see the beginning of Farhad’s spiritual journey where he will rediscover himself & understand the true purpose of his life. This was definitely a conversation that was much needed for Farhad to at least have a direction or to understand what he needed to do rather than just wasting his life over a heartbreak. Although Farhad had his own reservations, which stated that he wanted to stay unseen, he didn’t want any attention & also didn’t want to get recognized. It now keeps me intrigued whether Dervish will also encourage Farhad to pursue the love of his life because this seems to be his intention, otherwise he wouldn’t have sent Farhad to Mahi’s house without a reason.

Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 28 Story Review - Important Developments

Mahi on her own struggled but this time around, she wasn’t alone & at least had Sahiba as her support system. Another interesting moment in this episode was when Mahi held onto that Taveez & in her mind, she linked it to Farhad’s existence. That Taveez reminded her of Farhad & she couldn’t stop thinking about the fact that it was him who brought it to her place & somewhere down the line, he had something to do with it. Another important development was Farhad finding out about the tragic death of Taimoor, which made him think about all the things he said to her on a parting note. I think more than anything, it’s now time for Farhad to at least feel guilty about his approach towards Mahi’s rejection. Although there’s no need to give such importance to his bad-dua but at least for him, it is going to serve as an eye-opener where he will be forced to reflect where he went wrong.

An Enjoyable Episode

I honestly enjoyed this episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3 after weeks, so much so that it is making me look forward to the next episode, particularly for the moment when Mahi will come to meet Farhad. I really hope that now when the story is finally picking up, they really don’t drag it & stop with the progress. I still feel for Mahi because right now she is dealing with so much & just when she was about to find the clarity she needed, she will be presented with yet another proposal which she will find hard to reject. Mahi has been through so much, therefore she needs a break but that doesn’t seem to be the case, not in the near future at least. Once again, Mahi will be torn between what she wants & what is expected of her. Mahi also is in limbo when it comes to Farhad because she clearly told Sahiba that before leaving, she wants to meet him for the last time, which goes to show that the thought of being with him has never once crossed her mind. She understands that they two are very different in every single aspect, however, his thought hasn’t stopped running through her mind. This is another aspect that leaves Mahi’s feelings for him unexplored & maybe, she will get the chance, now that she is free from all obligations as Taimoor’s wife.

After weeks, I can say that I saw the potential in Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3 & felt that this still had a lot of margin of redeeming itself, let’s hope the drama-makers meet the expectations & keep it to the point in the remaining episodes. Also, I have always said that I do not like the flashbacks but this was one such episode where I did not mind the flashbacks with the OST echoing in the background. It goes to show that when the situation demands, flashbacks also end up being enjoyable. It was nice to see both Mahi & Farhad reminiscing about the moments they have shared. Props to Feroze Khan & Iqra Aziz for their brilliant performances. Feroze Khan was definitely the star of this episode because he made it very easy to understand the emotional turmoil Farhad was faced with. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3.

Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 27 Story Review – Mahi’s Fever

Pace tass se mass hui aur bas, pace tass se mass hui aur bas. As expected, this entire episode was dedicated to Mahi’s fever. It is actually sad that the director thought dragging a drama & story this much was the right thing to do. It is because of this slow-paced treatment that now makes me question whether there is something substantial to the story or not? I really can’t believe that I just watched an entire episode, dedicated to the tussle between two mothers; one who has lost her son but still trying to make amends & the other, who lost her breath at the thought of her daughter’s fever!

From Boisterous Mahi To Ideal Bahu Mahi

So, Mahi’s mother came to take her back only to find her bedridden with a high temperature. Mahi showed absolutely no signs of fever the next morning but till then, her mother got a golden opportunity to get back at Jageerdarni. Fever comes & goes but it seems maybe Mahi’s mother doesn’t know that or maybe she also doesn’t know about the magical medicine called panadol. I know I am getting too much into the feverish side of the episode because this is exactly what they gave me to discuss here.

Jageerdarni couldn’t help but get disappointed at Mahi’s mother’s behavior because in her mind she was planning for Sikandar’s proposal. She realized immediately that this is one tough cookie to crack but luckily for her, panadol worked & Mahi’s fever subsided, which made Mahi deal with this entire situation rationally & put an end to this negativity. I loved how Mahi’s mother justified eating dinner at Jageerdarni’s place citing it as her ‘majboori’ because apart from that, she didn’t want the rest of her family members to taste the food!

I think Sahiba misunderstood that she was not coming to Jageerdarni’s place at a funeral but instead she was coming to take Mahi back. The kind of dressing she had done was way too simple & didn’t go well with her stature & status. Mahi’s mother on the other hand was well dressed & had a bit of jewelry therefore there was no need for Sahiba to be dressed as if she was still mourning Taimoor’s loss. Mahi finally let Sahiba know that Farhad was alive & eating. The way Sahiba jumped at the news was the kind of reaction I expected from her because she has always magnified everything related to Farhad in front of Mahi, so her motive was achieved.

Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 27 Story Review - Mahi's Fever

The writer & director Dervish who knows everything about Farhad’s life knew that this was the time he had to send Farhad to Mahi’s house because he knew that this is going to be the day when Farhad will finally find out where she lives & that her husband is no more. I like how seamlessly the Dervish has taken the role of being the writer & the director of this drama & Farhad’s life because this precision is definitely not something a person could achieve just like that. The idea of ‘ilham’ has been pushed to such a limit that instead of believing in it, I think logically it is safe to believe that he happens to be not only the writer but the director of the drama too. HAQQQQQQQ!!!!!

Writer-director Dervish knew that Mahi had completed her iddat, not because she came to the Mazaar. This was something he knew when he went to pray for Jageerdarni’s health at her place. He said when the time would be right, he will ask for a favor in return. So, this was W&D Dervish’s calculated decision of sending Farhad. Just because this episode did not have much meaningful scenes, the two that did were made a part of the promo last week. I think it isn’t a bad idea after all that Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3 can be followed just by watching the promos because the episodes themselves barely have something to offer!

So, our Sikandar Bhai got dumped & Romana vanished into thin air. He tried hard to figure out where she went but all in vain. Sikandar was hurt & upset but as the promo suggested, he won’t take much time before moving on because he can see how attached his kids are to Mahi. Just because Romana went out of the picture, it became easier for him to take this decision.

Next

This episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3 was slow & practically had nothing to offer. I really wonder why the mothers in this drama become so caricaturish at times. Farhad’s mother was left bewildered for good, Jageerdarni who was at least being embarrassed of her bad behavior was being pushed to the side, although she too had bouts of negativity in the beginning. & now Mahi’s mother who could see the love & care Jageerdarni had for Mahi was still adamant to show her anger & frustrations even when she could see that Jageerdarni wasn’t being rude to them. Anyways, as the promo suggested, next week the only meaningful scene in this entire episode might be the confrontation between Farhad & W&D Dervish, let’s see. Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 22 Review – Weak Episode!

Ohkay so, let me be completely honest with you guys, in my opinion, only the last 10 minutes of this episode were worth watching because the drama-makers developed an interesting link between the past & the present once again but the rest of the episode despite having some drama & developments was boring to say the least. This was probably the first episode where I couldn’t take eyes off my cellphone because it failed to grab my interest & I actually couldn’t wait for the episode to get over. It actually breaks my heart that the drama that I was so emotionally invested in for the first half has reduced to this level where after this episode, I am dreading the fact that the ending is going to be so rushed that it might leave me asking for more. The direction, the editing & the overall scenarios in this episode were so so so weak that every single time I saw the flashbacks I couldn’t stop thinking about the excellence this drama & its team touched in the initial phase of the story. I feel if the director decided to end this drama in the decent number of episodes, then he could’ve established the story in such a way where he could’ve taken us to a closure in a more intelligent manner but seems like he focused more on Isaac that he forgot to worry about all the other things that actually mattered. Anyways, let’s hope that they give us a magical last episode next week because in the 2nd last episode tonight, only a few ending scenes worked for me & that too is all thanks to Hammad & Sarah because they are the only saving grace of the second phase of the story!

So, I had zero idea that the policemen in the USA could arrest people while driving their personal cars & while dressed in formal suits after returning from their best friend’s wedding. The entire scenario after that didn’t spark any interest even though what they showed wasn’t out of the line because they had already made a point about how Isaac made sure that the police kept on tailing Hammad & kept a check on him but somehow the way it was executed was unappealing!

I actually really liked how Sarah stood up for herself & gave her father a reality check because he most certainly needed one. I find it actually quite amusing that Isaac who has a problem with Hammad just because he is a Muslim has no issues in getting Sarah forcefully married to Zeeshan who also is a Muslim, at least by name. I think it would’ve made much more sense if they had changed Zeeshan’s name to Zack or Zackery to imply that Isaac himself chose Christianity & wanted to make sure that his daughter stayed on that path too by marrying one as well because he obviously raised her as a Non-Muslim anyways. I feel just by showing Isaac as a Muslim Islamophobe, they have literally ruined the essence of the story & because of that, nothing that Isaac says or does make any sense whatsoever. The director thought that showing the flashbacks of Molvi Aleemuddin to establish the similarities between Isaac & him was a good idea but to be honest, it made Isaac stick out like a sore thumb a lot more because at least back then, Molvi Aleemuddin had a reason to oppose Hammad as he was not only insulted but his daughter was blamed for trapping Hammad too. On the other hand, to put Aleemuddin & Isaac on the same pedestal most certainly didn’t work because Isaac actually looks like a delusional person who just harbored grudges against Hammad because he had an attention span of a poodle & probably had minus zero (-0) sensibility.

The only connection between the past & the present that actually worked for me was how they showed that Sarah was exactly facing what Hammad went through for the sake of his love. For Sarah, love is not the only point of concern, her main issue is defending her rights; right of not getting married to someone she doesn’t love, right of freely believing in the religion that sits well with her, right of standing up against her father who thinks he can dictate her & get away with anything. For Sarah, to take such a step is not only because she is defending her love for Hammad, but is also because she has to make her father realize about all of his wrongdoings. Sarah’s relation with Isaac was quite shaky but what made it hit the rock bottom was when Sarah found out the truth about Isaac being the one responsible for Hammad’s arrest. It was quite interesting to see how Sarah gave words to all her feelings & tried to knock some sense into her father’s head that Hammad was actually a good influence on her who taught her about all the important aspects of life, be it religion or holding onto her blood relations but sadly, since Isaac is empty headed, he chose to ignore all of that!

To be honest, another reason why I couldn’t bring myself to watch this episode with utmost attention was because of the unnecessary coverage that was given to Isaac & then Zeeshan, like I thought this ghunda was gone for good & was settled in New York but he came back with his chiseled beard & another level of annoying expressions to spoil the episode for us. I must say Zeeshan is quite bezti-proof that despite getting rejected so many times, he still persists on getting married to Sarah because his small ego can’t cope with the fact that she can choose someone else over him!

So, finally Sarah spilled the beans & confessed her feelings to Hammad but looks like Hammad couldn’t even think of anything of that sort. This is something that made me lose hope about getting the proper ending in the last episode as far as Sarah & Hammad are concerned because I thought the director would actually establish the fact that Hammad saw something in Sarah as well but I think in the last episode, since the director will have to give closure to so many things, this aspect will most certainly be compromised upon! I have a bad feeling that the last episode would also be dedicated to Isaac The Clove & his change of heart so because of that Hammad & Sarah will be put on the back seat. Also, the way they have shown that Isaac was cursing Hammad right till the end of this episode, I have a feeling that the sudden change in his behavior & mentality wouldn’t also sit well with the viewers in the last episode because the director should have showed this transition slowly but looks like it is going to be choppy & abrupt just like how the editing of the entire 2nd phase has been.

Anyways, even though I decided I won’t be commenting on this but the makeup enthusiast in me is not letting me stay quiet. The makeup artist, whoever he/she was, was not a friend of anyone because he made all of them look horrible. For some people, the base was too orange, for some, the blush-on was not on the cheeks but on the jawbone, for some, the under-eye highlight was too blinding & for someone, the foundation was a completely wrong shade. It seems by this stage, everyone was too excited for the final pack up that no one did their jobs with utmost interest & concentration. Also, I found it amusing that everyone in this episode was standing, either on the footpath, on the road or outside their homes & there was zero continuity between the scenes. Anyways, the confrontation between Sarah & Isaac & the way Sarah & Hammad’s life-changing moment was linked were the only few good aspects of this episode. Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 21 Review – Perfection!

Ohkay so, I am so so so glad that this episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat gave me what I was looking for & that were some beautiful & heartfelt conversations between Hammad & Sarah. Yes, obviously Isaac had to be there to spoil the episode but then again, he reminded me of that ‘clove’ which shows up in your morsel & the best you can do is shove it at the corner of the plate & enjoy your meal because few things are just there to add some flavor but are not necessarily meant to be enjoyed, however, I will thank Syed Mazhar Ali/Isaac for making me laugh out loud while watching this episode & I will tell rather show you guys the sight which made me laugh at the end of this review. Anyways, what a magical episode it was & what beautiful performances by both Imran Abbas & Kubra Khan. I think both Imran & Kubra should take a bow for portraying Hammad & Sarah’s characters to perfection because I am a 100% sure that no other actors could’ve achieved what they have through their phenomenal & flawless performances! :)

So, I must say I pity Isaac even more, like Ishaaq se Isaac to ban gaye lekin apne andar ka desi murgha nahi maar sakay. Seriously, to see him being overly concerned for his daughter just because she chooses to hang out with Hammad is quite amusing. It looks like just because Isaac was so infatuated & fascinated with the American lifestyle, he gave Sarah quite a lot of freedom to make her own choices but ever since her choices are not in accordance with Isaac’s he has started showing signs of being a typical desi father who would prefer getting her married to a goon but won’t allow her to befriend someone he detests. Also, Isaac is full of contradictions, like he wouldn’t mind sending Sarah to New York with Zeeshan who is probably quite khaufnaak & khatarnaak but when it comes to Hammad he shows how small minded he is, probably just as small as a clove is!

So, Sarah has definitely developed some feelings for Hammad, that is why she not only grew curious but decided to discuss her concerns with Hammad personally too. Obviously, for Hammad to recall his past is still quite painful, that is why he hesitated in telling Sarah everything but when she couldn’t curb her curiosity, she decided to speak to Rebecca about it. I actually felt relieved that Hammad had already told Sarah that there was no place for love in his life anymore, because then Sarah didn’t immediately believe the lie Rebecca told saying Hammad is in love with me. Sigh! Her wishful thinking. I really think even after so much of attempts & efforts, when Hammad isn’t reciprocating the similar feelings, so Rebecca should back off!

Just because Sarah has started feeling something for Hammad, she wanted to know him better, it was more like she wanted to put a finger on what it was that set Hammad apart from the crowd, what is it about him that made him so unique & special & luckily, they both got into a conversation where Hammad decided to share everything with Sarah. It was quite interesting hearing their different perspectives about the movie that they just watched because Sarah was speaking on the basis of something which she felt but what Hammad said came after his personal experience. I don’t blame Hammad when he speaks about love in such a manner that it is something which only brings sadness to one’s life, because even after being so sincere, he has been through so much & ended up losing his beloved, so it would take a lot for him to get convinced again that love doesn’t necessarily bring grief & sorrow with it & now that Sarah’s on it, I am sure she will bring him out of this misery!

I loved the conversations that Hammad & Sarah shared, which started off by discussing the movie, then it came to love, then Hammad’s past, about Imaan, her hijab & her death which definitely convinced Sarah that Hammad who himself is so broken & shattered wasn’t capable of doing something which her father accuses him of. Ever since Hammad has come to the US, he hasn’t spoken to anyone about Imaan, may be that’s why he felt that the burden was becoming overbearing, so he decided to share everything with her. I must say, so far my favorite scene of the entire drama after Hammad & Imaan’s last meeting & the platform scene would be the Church scene where Hammad cried hysterically because he held so much inside him for so long & now he finally found a ‘friend’ he could rely on & who was ready to listen to him, wasn’t judging him & most importantly was trying to understand him a little better, it was just beautiful. I will say that in that scene even though both Hammad & Sarah were on a different tangent, the chemistry of Imran Abbas & Kubra Khan was simply beautifullll, I can’t emphasize on that enough, I loved that entire scene so much!

I love the emotional transition of Sarah so far, where she acknowledges the fact that Hammad has proved her wrong so many times by showing her a completely different picture of what Islam is & how Muslims are like. To see Sarah understanding Hammad more & not believing the lies her father has been feeding her all her life anymore is so satisfying. I must say, the way Sarah spoke highly of Hammad’s likeness for Hijab made me feel that may be, she will bring herself to try it too just to please Hammad & more than that, to actually understand the reason & the wisdom behind it. I can’t wait to see all these changes that Sarah will bring in herself because she has stepped on a right path & now she just has to go with the flow.

Once again, just when I was smiling ear to ear after such a beautiful scene, like I usually do after a very wholesome & delicious meal, the clove; in this case Isaac showed up to make his presence felt that he is also a part of this dish, anyways, I loved that Hammad gave him such a perfect reply & showed him his right place. It was quite amusing that Hammad let Isaac know that he didn’t care a dime about his hatred or his agendas & honestly at this point, even I don’t because I know that this is all that Isaac’s character has got to offer, so it’s better to ignore him a clove! Anyways, I am really happy with this episode & I enjoyed it thoroughly. Every single frame, every single scene, every single conversation, even the flashbacks, just everything was perfectttt & it worked. Imran Abbas & Kubra Khan should definitely take a bow for doing justice to Hammad & Sarah’s characters & making us connect with them on a whole new level. Kubra Khan I must say looked gorgeous in this episode especially. I can’t wait for the next episode already. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat.

PS: Thank you so much Sir Isaac for this!

Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 21 Review - Perfection!

Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 20 Review – Unconvincing Revelations!

Ohkay so, I am not sure how I feel about this episode, like I do understand that they tried to make it as convincing as possible but as the truth about Isaac was revealed & later when I saw his & Hammad’s confrontation, I found myself thinking that the exact same thing would’ve been so convincing if they had stayed true to the novel & had shown Isaac’s family to be Jewish. I do understand that they made some changes in the novel to fit the dramatization & also, may be because they didn’t want to bring any other religion into the spotlight but then again, I am not convinced, not because of what is being shown but because of the way Isaac is treating Hammad as now everything is looking forceful like as if Isaac has nothing better to do, no other activity to spent his time on, so he is tailing Hammad to kill his boredom. I definitely have no complains when it comes to Hammad & Sarah’s characters because to be honest, I am watching this drama because of them, but then again, seeing the coverage Isaac gets compels me to stare at the ceiling of my TV Lounge because I am neither interested nor convinced with how Isaac’s character & story has been dished out & this is something that makes me a little disappointed because this is not how I was expecting Khuda Aur Mohabbat would turn out to be.

So, Hammad left Sarah’s place on a bitter note but he obviously understood that it wasn’t Jenny or Sarah’s mistake that Isaac was such a paranoid. The news of Hammad visiting Sarah’s place didn’t sit well with Rebecca because she obviously has her reasons. For the first time Rebecca has told Kamran how she feels about Hammad but then I found Kamran’s response quite reasonable where he reminded her about the hardships that Hammad has been through, so she should take it easy & shouldn’t impose her thought process on him. To be honest, every time I see that bechari look pasted on Rebecca’s face with the title music playing in the background when she spots Hammad & Sarah together, I find myself smiling from ear to ear, lol! Also, I don’t understand what makes Rebecca think that Hammad will fall for her now when he never fell for her when he was in the US before leaving for Pakistan & before meeting Imaan? Rebecca should accept the fact that Hammad has friend-zoned her ages ago, so she shouldn’t bother!

Well, as much as Sarah is getting to know Hammad, she is finding herself getting more & more inclined towards him, that is the reason why she felt sorry for the way her father treated Hammad at the dinner. So, finally, the truth was revealed that Isaac/Ishaaq used to be a staunch practicing Muslim as well but just because he was imprisoned because of his friend due to 9/11, he grew out of all those feelings & emotions that he had regarding his religion, his ethnicity & his identity. Well, to be honest, as much as I wasn’t convinced with Isaac’s past, one thing that definitely made sense was that may be after getting imprisoned, Isaac lost half of his senses & sanity, that is why he has turned out to be one unreasonable soul whose only motive in life is to create trouble for Hammad otherwise who would tail a university student disguised as a man in black looking like an FBI agent? LOL! Seriously, the only emotion I am feeling right now for Isaac’s character is that of pity, because he has unwillingly turned into a lunatic & he still is oblivious about it!

As far as they were trying to show that Isaac had his inhibitions when it came to Hammad, it was fine but to see him recording Hammad’s conversation with Behzaad & trying to use it against him just because he visits Masjid regularly & gives Azaan over there was pretty unconvincing, like at that moment I felt that it would’ve been so much better if they had shown Isaac to be a non-Muslim by birth because these sort of accusations coming from a Muslim made things look amusing rather than serious or worrisome. To see an ex-practicing Muslim associating someone with fundamentalism just because he gives a call for Fajr prayer made him look stupid rather than racist or Islamophobic, only because he himself has all the knowledge when it comes to religion so some logic & sense was definitely expected from Isaac. Yes, I do understand that Isaac is just insecure & he is concerned for his daughter but then again, now that the truth has been revealed that he himself is a Muslim, I am not sure if all this makes as much sense as it would have if they had shown him as a non-Muslim right from the start.

Anyways, the only good bits of this episode came from Hammad & Sarah. I can’t wait to see how Sarah will once again try to protect Hammad from her lunatic father. I am wondering just like how she took out those books & notes from Hammad’s bag, will she be able to delete the video from her father’s cell-phone when he’ll be asleep, lol!!! Another sight that made me actually giggle was when I saw Isaac in black suit, black sunglasses, acting like an FBI agent, while completely being oblivious of the fact that he looked like those paid-actors who dress themselves up to scare someone. Now that the cat’s rather Isaac’s out of the bag, I can’t wait to see how Hammad will tackle him & change his perspective but I seriously wish that they don’t shift the entire focus on Isaac’s character like they did in this episode & keep it more on Hammad & Sarah’s developing understanding & relationship because that is far more important & interesting. Some amazing acting there by Imran Abbas & Kubra Khan & some really thought-provoking dialogues by the writer there. While looking at Isaac as a villain of this half of the drama, I was forced to remember how convincing Molvi Aleemuddin was as the villain of the first half, like there’s a drastic difference between the two halves of this drama but the only thing that thankfully & fortunately has remained consistent & has kept the interest of the viewers alive in the show is the character of Hammad, so I’m so much thankful for him! Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 19 Review – Magical!

Ohkay so, it was yet another interesting episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat & I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. I loved how the focus of this episode was on Hammad & Sarah’s track & their budding friendship. I will however do mention that the editing & also the direction of the second phase of the drama is not as strong as it was in the first phase of the drama but since they are serving a bigger purpose by showing how Hammad is trying to change people’s perspective about himself & his religion, it compensates a great deal for those few mistakes. I think the director at this stage should thank Imran Abbas personally for carrying the drama on his shoulders in such a way that the viewers are hooked to see what Hammad has in store for them & because of that they are being able to ignore the glaring technical mistakes.

So, just because Isaac grew uncomfortable with the idea that Sarah was learning a few things about Islam through Hammad, he decided to get her engaged to Zeeshan thinking it will occupy her & she will stop being friends with Hammad. I don’t know if they are keeping this detail from the viewers purposely because they are waiting for the right time, or they didn’t put much thought into the fact that they should have by now disclosed the details about Isaac’s family, his ethnicity & background because somehow, even though the writing is detailed & we can understand Isaac’s reactions through the situations that he is facing but it is getting harder to understand his perspective, like where he is coming from? Isaac poses to be quite liberal but the way he decided to get Sarah & Zeeshan engaged without Sarah’s consent made him look like a staunch desi father who wouldn’t want his daughter to mingle with a guy of another cast or religion. Please bear in mind that I am not at all generalizing by using the word desi but since Isaac’s family speaks Urdu fluently, I am unable to figure out where do they actually originate from & like it is mentioned time & again that Isaac can’t stand Pakistanis, then I am forced to assume that they might be Indian Christians hence such strong opinion against Pakistani Muslim Hammad? Again I am not generalizing that all Indian Christians detest Pakistani Muslims but I am just trying to solve the puzzle. I really think this is the detail that the director shouldn’t have missed especially at this stage when he was going to elaborate the tension & the rift between Isaac & Hammad, which is taking place because of their different religions & perspectives because it would have helped the viewers a great deal in understanding the root cause of the prejudice that Isaac has against Hammad. Even though by now they have well established the fact that Isaac can’t stand Hammad as he thinks Hammad is a fundamentalist but then again, while watching Isaac & his hatred against Hammad, I feel like I have a blank spot in my mind as I am unable to fill that void about who Isaac actually is, what is ideology is, what his beliefs are & what religion does he belong to? I really wish in the next couple of episodes, they at least give us a conversation between Hammad & Sarah where Sarah gives Hammad an insight into her family background because it will help us a great deal in connecting the dots properly.

Hammad’s friend Behzaad tried to get to know Hammad a little more, like he knows Hammad from the surface but this was for the first time when he tried to dig deep as he knew that the reason behind Hammad getting overwhelmed in the Masjid was something that needed to be addressed. The way Hammad got lost in the thoughts of everything that he faced in Pakistan while offering his prayers was so relate-able, it was like at that moment he was once again reminded of the phase that he lived which taught him so much. Just a few months ago, Hammad was someone who barely knew how to offer prayers & now at this stage in his life, he was fighting to restore people’s faith in Muslims by projecting a good image of what practicing Muslims are like, it just showed the journey that Hammad has covered & how he is preparing himself for all that is yet to come. It was beautiful!

To be honest, seeing Isaac personally checking Hammad’s bag reminded me of a high-schoolers’ life where teachers personally check their bags. I think they have pretty much made it clear that Isaac & Zeeshan are after Hammad, so I think they don’t need to push it so much because all these scenarios not only seem forced but defy the purpose as they turn into comedy scenes because I for once can not imagine a dean of a University in the USA personally checking the bags of Muslim students because he is filled with so much of hatred & is probably quite a bit faarigh. Also, the editing of that scene was just so off because Sarah never left Hammad’s side & the very next moment Hammad told Rebecca that Sarah must’ve taken out those notes from his bag? Anyways, it was too obvious that not much thought was put into that scene & the choppy editing & weak direction of that scene proved it!

Well, the part that I enjoyed the most throughout this episode was seeing Sarah & Hammad becoming good friends, like their friendship started off with a couple of conversations, then they came to such a level where they started helping each other, then they shared a few phone calls & then in the end, Hammad got invited to Sarah’s place. It was probably for the first time when Hammad showed Sarah his emotional side where he taught her a few things about the emotion of love, that was the moment when Sarah realized that Hammad is a completely different person to how she perceived him to be & that is why she grew empathetic & compassionate towards him. I must say that entire conversation, where Hammad explained what love is was beautifully written, even though it was so deep yet it was so simple that even someone like Sarah who didn’t enjoy the subject understood what the emotion & the journey of love is all about. The way Sarah helped Hammad when Zeeshan tried to put him in trouble showed that Sarah has completely changed her mind about Hammad & now she sees him in a very different light & that is only because of Hammad’s attitude & behavior towards her & all those people around him.

Sarah’s invitation to Hammad symbolized that she has started trusting him a lot more & considers him as her friend. To invite Hammad over such a personal family affair like that of her mother’s birthday, without even worrying much about her father’s reaction showed that Sarah believes in taking stand for the right & she believes in forming her own opinions & doesn’t easily get swayed by what she hears from people. Considering how staunch & rigid Isaac is, it would’ve seemed justified if Sarah had shared the same opinions as her father but just because she is observant & mature, she didn’t take much time in judging Hammad’s character differently. The conversation where Isaac once again tried to insult Hammad by labeling him as an extremist was quite off-putting, not because Hammad is a Muslim & to hear such things against Islam repeatedly is burdensome but because we still are unaware of the reason behind Isaac’s hatred.

I don’t know if the drama-makers didn’t want to bring any religion into the spotlight through this drama, that is the reason why they haven’t given out much details about Isaac or his background but I think they should because it is getting hard to relate to Isaac & his perspective. All we know by now is that Sarah’s mother is a Christian, like Hammad mentioned it to Kamran especially that Sarah’s ‘mother’ is a Christian but there was no mention about Isaac so!!!

I loved the scene where Sarah looks over Hammad when he is offering prayer & the way the entire scenario was linked to how Hammad fell for Imaan when he saw her offering prayers too. It is so amazing how they have shown that at this stage, Hammad is standing where Imaan was & Sarah is exactly where Hammad was in the past. Just like Imaan was a step ahead of Hammad & convinced Hammad to come to her level, similarly & unconsciously, Hammad is now a step ahead of Sarah & is now going to convince her to come to his level. The times have changed, the characters have changed but the essence remains the same & that is something absolutely beautiful, like it is a journey that they have shown, which is amazing. :)

I loved this episode because a lot of focus was on Sarah/Hammad, Kubra Khan/Imran Abbas, their chemistry is so amazing like I know a lot of people won’t be happy but I like their chemistry better than Hammad/Imaan’s, hehe I know Imaan is Hammad’s first love but Sarah will be his last, so it is also just as special. Yes, this episode did have some off-putting moments because we had that goon with a ponytail named Zeeshan filling the TV screen with his negativity & toxins. Also, I really expected better acting from Syed Mazhar Ali considering he is such an experienced actor because most of the times his expressions suggest as if he has eaten a pickled cucumber (gherkin) & he is so not happy with the aftertaste. Imran Abbas & Kubra Khan’s amazing & effortless acting is definitely elevating the level of this drama so I am happy. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat.

Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 18 Story Review – Bucket Full of Tears

Ohkay so, there wasn’t much progress or development in the story in this particular episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat. The pacing seems to be quite slow & the bucket full of tears doesn’t really help the situation either. Just when I had forgotten about Farhad’s crying clan back in Lahore, I was reminded of them in the preview of the next episode. Honestly speaking, I really feel the characters should’ve been etched out a bit more, both by the writer as well as the director so that they had succeeded in making an impact, an emotional connect with the audience without having to rely on so much of crying. The amount of crying that is happening in each & every episode now seems like a desperate attempt to show how special & important & extraordinary these characters are. I do understand that they have realistically tried to show that the family members, in any case, mourn the loss & grief of the loved one, but at this stage, it is looking like there is or was nothing else or more to the story therefore crying was used as a sheild to get away with the mediocrity of it!

Mahi’s New Life

I will straight away point out that the moment which I liked the most was Romana’s meeting with Sikandar. She was clear in her stance & Sikandar was moved after seeing her eagerness & sincerity. Romana well & truly understands that she stands no chance in Sikandar’s life but very selflessly she conveyed to him that she was always going to be there for him, without expecting anything in return. At this stage, Romana just wants to share Sikandar’s emotional burdens & these words coming from her meant a lot to him, especially because of the emotional turmoil he was going through.

Mahi found some solace, some kind of relief after she got to interact with Shehrbano & Shazain, that entire conversation was very sweet & nicely done. I also liked the things Mahi’s mother said about how she too had her plans, how she wanted to welcome her daughter, make her feel special, talk to her & feel assured that she was happy. This is exactly what a mother feels & thinks of when she marries her daughter away but unfortunately, the reality for her was so different & daunting. Rubina Ashraf conveyed those emotions beautifully & amidst so much crying, I actually felt I had the heart to accept her tears because she was justified in mourning the loss of her son-in-law & more so, her daughter’s safe & secure marital life. The rest of the family is shaken to the core but I am glad they didn’t get much coverage because I am sure apart from a lot more tears, they wouldn’t have that much of a contribution.

Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 18 Story Review - Bucket Full of Tears

So, Farhad finally made it to the shrine & it seems after getting rid of Taimoor, the dervish was now waiting for someone else. I am kind of amused at the sort of expressions the dervish gave when he saw Farhad for the first time. It seems he can already sense that there’s something special about him, the fact that Farhad is unique & different – if only he had known that a few weeks ago his family failed to take him seriously & that a girl tried to get rid of him by literally rejecting him, but oh he’s the hero so he is special. I know it is going to add more to my amusement in the episodes to come but I will take the beat of dhol any day in exchange of those alaaps of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan & Sahir Ali Bagga. However, I am not sure why Farhad eating the crumbs of bread called for a dhol to beat as if he was doing something extraordinarily heavily. It is kind of amusing that they have tried to create this aura about Farhad but the character itself has lacked so much of substance that none of this makes it to your heart.

As much as I liked Taimoor’s mother, I am unhappy seeing her turning into a typical nightmare of a saas. Yes, she is pretty much not in her senses & hasn’t come to terms with how she is going to deal with this bitter reality but it would’ve been better if she had stuck to her grace, her wisdom & the true personality that she has had. All the things she seems to be doing are quite unlike her. I am sure this is the plot being set so that Sikandar feels obliged to marry Mahi & bring her honor back to her which his mother has snatched away from her. Let’s see.

Rubina Ashraf Stole The Show

This episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat was quite slow but there were definitely a few scenes that were interesting & had some meaning to it. I am not really sure why Romana feels the pull towards Farhad, I mean seriously. Anyways, Iqra Aziz scores full points yet again for such a brilliant & heart-touching performance. Tooba Siddique is phenomenal as Romana too. The star of this episode was Rubina Ashraf for sure. Let’s see what happens next. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3.

Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 18 Review – A Very Good Episode!

Ohkay so, I am glad that this episode restored the faith that I had in the story of Khuda Aur Mohabbat. I enjoyed watching Hammad’s journey, like everything related to Hammad was quite interesting & was portrayed perfectly as well. I liked the pace of this episode too because now that I have sat down to share my views on this episode, I feel a lot has happened & they gave us a lot to speak about. I will say that everything that the writer showed especially in this episode was quite realistic & believable because Muslims that are living in such countries will be able to relate to these events on a personal basis.

So, the episode began with Hammad getting to know about the current political situation where Muslims were being verbally attacked only to ignite more hate crimes against them. Hammad & Kamran’s reactions were believable because any Muslim living in such a country where the leaders openly speak against Muslims & Islam would make them feel vulnerable & threatened. Just because Hammad has had a religious awakening, his thought process was completely different & far more wise in comparison to Kamran & Rebecca’s because he understood that in such a dire situation, the only way to make yourself feel accepted was to portray a very different perspective of Islam than what the media portrays. Hammad understood that in this current situation all he had to do was portray a true picture of what Muslims are like & what Islam teaches its followers to do, which is something almost all the regular & practicing Muslims feel when they have to face such a scenario.

I actually enjoyed watching how Hammad despite being disheartened & threatened came up with a plan of forgiving & letting everything go because he knew that this path might be difficult but it will surely reap rewards & this is exactly what happened by the end of the episode. Zeeshan as usual attacked Hammad because he is a bully on the loose & luckily Sara spotted them & saw what exactly happened. Isaac definitely has a personal vendetta against Hammad because like Sara while speaking to her mother discussed, Isaac can not stand Pakistani Muslims as according to them all of them are extremists. Isaac has seen how Hammad has gotten himself involved in the Muslim community & the activities related to it, that is why he has formed a very strong opinion against him, having said that I do understand that they had no other way to show how Isaac was getting to know about Hammad’s activities & interests but I found it actually quite amusing that Isaac walked on Hammad just when he was seeing his Muazzin friend off, like that walk-in-the-park-near-Masjid seemed a little forced but chalo, it’s alright!

Just because Isaac is biased, he decided to punish Hammad equally for what Zeeshan did but it was quite interesting how Hammad decided to bring Sara into the picture as may be he had this faith in her that she won’t lie or also because he wanted to test them & see where they stand. Isaac was obviously taken aback by the fact that Sara decided to support Hammad & not her cousin Zeeshan but this is exactly what I wanted to see in Sara’s character & I loved it. Isaac obviously had no reason to punish Hammad but he most certainly didn’t expect that Hammad would not only forgive Zeeshan but would also request to cancel out his punishment as well, like it was good to see Isaac getting a very subtle reality check which forced him to admit that Hammad was a ‘nice boy’.

I liked that they didn’t only focus on Hammad being the only Muslim facing the racism & problems, rather they highlighted how Kamran, an owner of a small business was also feeling the brunt of the political situation that was putting Muslims in the spotlight. Even though I understand Rebecca’s concerns as Hammad’s friend but I found it a little uncalled for that every single time Hammad did something, she had to whine non-stop about it & had to question his decisions. I am glad that at least Hammad has 1 sane & wise person by his side who shares the same mental wavelength as Hammad’s & can understand Hammad’s perspective & that is his Muazzin friend, I really enjoy their conversations. It was actually quite beautiful that his friend told him to cover for him & give a call for Fajr prayer in his absence, like at that moment Hammad realized how Allah elevated his status & he was reminded of all the things his traveler friend said where he told Hammad that such rewards are given to very special people. It was like at that moment Hammad felt that all his prayers were accepted & that he was someone very special, may be that is why Hammad found this inner strength in himself which told him that he could fight his enemies with a lot of patience & could change their perspective about him & Muslims in general.

So, Hammad & Sara became friends, firstly because Hammad had to thank her for supporting the truth & testifying in his favor & secondly when Sara had to thank him for forgiving Zeeshan. It was good that at least the first step that Hammad took hit the perfect spot where he succeeded in changing Sara’s perspective about him a little. Hammad handed her over some books about Islam because he knew that she is also a victim of misunderstandings about the religion, so he thought these books will definitely help. I am sure this is something that won’t sit well with Isaac because he already is feeling a little threatened by Hammad’s steadfastness in the path of his religion!

Overall, I had a great time watching this episode because the focus was on Hammad & then on Sara. I must say in a few scenes that Hammad & Sara shared, Imran Abbas & Kubra Khan’s chemistry was amazingggg, like they looked so good together. I just can’t wait to see their love story now like I am already excited. A little mistake that I picked was Hammad telling his friend that the dean of the university being a ‘Muslim’ himself was against Muslims, like at that moment I thought Hammad was misunderstood & may be later he would find out that Isaac is not a Muslim but later in the episode when Hammad gave Sara those books knowing that she is Isaac’s daughter sealed the deal that Hammad was completely aware of the fact that Sara & Isaac weren’t Muslims, so this was basically a mistake that the director overlooked which he shouldn’t have, like at this stage of the drama they can’t afford such mistakes because they are serving a bigger purpose through the story so a little attention is most certainly required. Kubra Khan once again gave me a reason to become a fan of her acting. Imran Abbas was amazing as usual. I know it would sound mean but I actually felt this pleasure seeing Rebecca all forlorn when she spotted Hammad & Sara together, like while she was feeling jealous & hurt, I was smirking that she is once again going to get ditched. I am sure if another actor had played the role of Rebecca, I would’ve felt some sympathy for her but not for this actress. Also, can someone please pick Zeeshan from his ponytail & chuck him out of the drama because just like I am getting tired of Rebecca’s rants, I am getting sick of Zeeshan’s ghundapan too & can I add how he overtakes Rebecca in being annoying, hands down! Anyways, please share your thoughts about this amazing episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat.

Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 17 Review – Next Episode Please!

Ohkay so, I’ll be completely honest with you guys, I enjoyed the first half of this episode a lot which revolved around the transition that Hammad was making & the closure he gave to all his relations before moving to USA, but for first time ever, while watching the second half of episode, I couldn’t wait for it to end because I found quite a lot of characters, situations & scenarios a bit too unconvincing & unnecessary. Please, make no mistake, I am still a fan of this drama, still a fan of Hammad’s character, still have a lot of faith in the overall message that this story is going to convey but I really hope that they make us fall in love with the second half of the story & the characters just as effortlessly as they made us fall in love with the first half of the story & those characters. I am glad I found 1 such character in the new lot which I’d be looking forward to but the rest were meh!

Seeing Hammad finally agreeing to go to USA was good but his final meeting with every single person who mattered to him the most was quite an emotional sight. It was quite hard for Hammad to leave everything, especially when it was a reminiscent of Imaan every step of the way but he finally understood how important it was for him to get back to normal because this is what Imaan expected him to do & this is something that his family wanted as well. It was evident that Hammad decided to move forward in his life because this is the promise that he made to Imaan, also his traveler friend put things into perspective & made him look at the bigger picture, which made Hammad realize that his love no where demanded him to forsake everything or not be normal & now that he has already proved his love, he has achieved everything!

I loved watching how warmly Hammad was greeted by everyone, especially Ghafoor & Abdullah. It was quite emotional seeing Ghafoor telling Hammad not to forget him because he shared such a beautiful bond with him & the amount of respect Ghafoor had for Hammad was something special. Molvi Aleem seemed quite apologetic but still, no ounce of sympathy for him! I will say, I was actually looking forward to Hammad’s final meeting with Najma & Siddique Sahab but I think they made the biggest mistake by not including that scene because Najma & Hammad have shared some very deep & meaningful conversation in the previous episodes, also the way Najma always encouraged Hammad & showed him the light at the end of the tunnel was absolutely beautiful, so to see Najma missing in such an important part was disheartening. It might’ve been that the actress playing the role of Najma wasn’t available for shooting those scenes, otherwise there’s no justification to why her character wasn’t given coverage in such an important time when Hammad was ready to finally move on & when Hammad needed her encouragement & motivation the most. I was actually looking forward to another meaningful conversation but, sigh!

So, Hammad finally came to the USA & decided to get back to normal by enrolling in the university & pursuing his education but the things that happened one after another made me lose interest in this episode pretty quickly. Let me talk about the good thing first because there’s only one & that was the introduction of a new character who became Hammad’s friend in just a single meeting, yes, I am talking about the Muad’dhin (sorry I missed his name), it was nice seeing how effortlessly he & Hammad related to each other & once again, that guy ended up being someone who motivated Hammad to come to the Masjid, even though Hammad on his own was holding onto his habit of praying that he instilled in himself back in Pakistan.

Now let’s talk about all the bad things, firstly, Sir Isaac’s character, like seriously, if they had introduced him as a random stranger then his judgmental attitude would’ve seemed justified because Muslims usually get judged a lot, but to see a Professor & a dean of the university filled with students from all over the world, belonging to all sort of ethnicity, religions, cultures, races – being so judgmental that he decided to conduct another personal interview of Hammad was quite unconvincing. Hammad’s replies were the only apt part of that entire scene but then again, I wonder how many students were questioned by Sir Isaac because they were Muslims? Yes, I do get it, they are still focusing on the fact that everywhere Hammad goes, he attracts people good & in this case bad, but then again, if they wanted to show that, they could’ve done it a little effortlessly because everything seemed a little too forced. Also, Sir Isaac’s call to his PA telling him to keep an eye on Hammad was actually quite funny, also I am still not sure why was he being bothered about the fact that Hammad was a practicing Muslim? Like seriously!?!?! I am sure they will show us a change in the perspective of all the Hammad haters as the story will progress but at this stage, I found it a little too funny & unconvincing!

Second bad thing, Zeeshan, like seriously? Just because Sara had a misunderstanding he had to take the matters in his hands & beat Hammad up? I don’t know why Hashim Nadeem loves getting his male characters beaten up by goons in his dramas, like this entire scenario of seeing Hammad with a bandage around his head was such a reminiscent of Dhaani because in the second half of the drama, Sameer was bruised & bed ridden the entire time because he was like a punching bag or a stress buster for the villains, lol! I don’t think they needed to rely on such a similar scenario because we all have a lot of sympathies for Hammad already, he is such an amazing character & he is not weak like Sameer that these things are needed to stir emotions for Hammad that is why this entire scene seemed unnecessary where Zeeshan beat Hammad just because he was furious. I won’t say I have formed an opinion about Sara because she is like this for a reason & that is pretty understandable because as the story will progress, she will eventually fall for Hammad because of his niceness so I’d rather wait to see that side of hers before saying much about this ignorant side which is being shown right now!

I found a little too many editing issues in this episode, like Rebecca was excited that Hammad was going to the USA with Kami & her & she also confirmed that she had completed Hammad’s registration process at the university & later, she was shown receiving both Hammad & Kamran at the airport & then Kamran asked her about Hammad’s registration as if she never left USA & was there taking care of Hammad’s admission & stuff while still being there when Hammad & Kami were travelling? Another mistake was that Hammad was in white jumper & Rebecca in orange shirt when Rebecca tells him that he has to go for another interview, next thing we know, Hammad was in a checkered shirt during his interview scene, later again as suggested it being the same day, Hammad informs Rebecca that he cleared the interview & he is was once again wearing that white jumper & Rebecca was in orange shirt. Also, I am not too sure why Zeeshan called Hammad ‘molvi’ & told Isaac that he is known for bothering girls, whereas it has been suggested that this is the new university that Hammad is attending & considering his admission was still in process so probably he was there for a couple of days, so how come Zeeshan had a knowledge about Hammad & his activities or his behavior? I really hope, I really really hope this drama doesn’t go down Dhaani’s lane because it was quite interesting in the first half too but just because they had to stretch it till the 30th episode, they butchered the entire thing, but yes, I do have faith in Khuda Aur Mohabbat because there’s a lot left to be revealed & Sara/Hammad’s track has yet to begin, so I am definitely hoping for the best!

Overall, the first half of this episode was interesting because it included the set of characters which we have formed a connection with so far, but the second half wasn’t my favorite as the new characters, apart from Hammad’s neighbor’s, weren’t amazing. While watching this episode, I had a feeling that just to keep things spiced up, they are introducing a couple of new villains which would be Zeeshan & Sir Isaac, also it was justified by reminding us of what the traveler uncle said ‘mohabbat mai aur bohat imtehaan ayeinge’, but again, abhi Hammad ki mohabbat kisi aur se shuru hi nahi hui so wo imtehaan wahin pe ruk jana chahiye tha but let’s see. I am interested in Kubra Khan’s character only at this moment. Also, another reminiscent of Dhaani was seeing Rebecca being overly concerned for Hammad which did showcase her feelings for him, she played the same role in Dhaani as well where she was in love with the hero only to get ditched in the end because he fell in love with someone else, so I am getting the same vibes too, I really wish they had kept her strictly as Hammad’s friend because that would’ve been refreshing & better. Obviously, needless to say, Imran Abbas made me teary eyed in the scene where Hammad visits Imaan’s grave for the last time & bids farewell to her for the time being with a very sweet promise that she is going to be with him & his soul is going to be with hers, sigh, absolutely beautifullll! Let’s hope the next episode is just as amazing as all the previous episodes have been! Please share your thoughts about this episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat.

ps: I have noticed that every time I share an opinion, those who have read the novel start justifying what is being shown by telling me about the future happenings in the novel saying that everything is going to be explained later, but please try to understand that I am not a novel reader, I am a drama viewer, so I am going to form an opinion about what is being shown at the moment because yes, I knew what the first half of the story was about but when it comes to the second half, I am oblivious & I have no idea. So, I do feel a lot of those guys who have read the novel might find my objections that came along with this episode uncalled for & will try to reason with me but seriously, this is my opinion, based on what I watched in this episode & I am going to take things as they come because I have not read the novel & I don’t want to find out about everything beforehand, so I hope you guys understand & leave the arguing for some other day, thanks! ;)

Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 16 – Epic Journey So Far!

Ohkay so, it was yet another interesting episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat. Everything that they have shown so far makes so much of sense & is a realistic portrayal of what one goes through when their beloved passes away. Also, it just doesn’t stop there because all those people who are related to the one suffering want to do everything to bring them out of their misery & this episode showed that beautifully as to how Hammad was making himself suffer & how his friends & family were trying to do everything to bring him back to normal. This episode had a very beautiful conversation to its credit & that turned out to the highlight of this episode for me.

So, Hammad’s family finally wanted Hammad to come back but just because Kamran & Ebaad could understand what he was going through, they decided to support his decision every step of the way. Hammad knew he lost everything & he was in a lot of pain, that is why he was trying to cope up with it his way & unfortunately, Hammad knew that being with his family will only make his heart ache more because deep down he still blames his family & Imaan’s father for what happened. Hammad got to read the last few words that Imaan left documented in a letter for him & he couldn’t believe that he will get Imaan’s message not after her marriage but after her death. Hammad’s reaction while reading that letter was so heart-wrenching, it depicted how helpless he felt & how depressed he was that his beloved was no more.

I loved seeing that Hammad didn’t have to compromise on his pride or his promise to return to his family. It was his family, especially his father & his mother & also Molvi Aleemuddin, who had to come personally to request him to return, while admitting that Hammad won, his love for Imaan won. Hammad couldn’t help but remember Imaan’s words where she understood that in order to return, he might have to take his words back & it might put a dent on his image showing that he couldn’t stand by his decision but it wasn’t the case. I loved that right till the end, it wasn’t Hammad who showed any eagerness in returning to his old life but rather, the parents of both Hammad & Imaan had to walk towards him to bring him back. My heart sank when I heard Molvi Aleemuddin admit that Hammad proved his pure intentions & his purest form of love that he had for Imaan because I just kept on wondering that he was a little too late & how different things would have been if he had accepted his defeat & Hammad’s success before Imaan died!

So, that one such character who has left such a great impact in Hammad’s life, he is probably the favorite character in this drama after Hammad for most of us & he is the one who till date has only 2 scenes to his credit, he was back in this episode & yes, I am talking about the traveler who met Hammad when he only had his love for Imaan but not the love of Allah in his life & now again, when Hammad had lost that love. That man knew that Hammad was a lost soul who needed some guidance & this time around, he again knew that Hammad was lost & he needed some direction. I think it is beautiful that without having any screen-time or any part in the rest of the story, that one character changes the course of Hammad’s life a great deal. He helped Hammad before & he was back to help Hammad once again. All the things that he told Hammad were absolutely beautiful & left a huge impact in Hammad’s life. He tried to make Hammad understand that he didn’t have to visit Imaan’s grave everyday to prove that he has her in his heart, which was right. Also, I loved how beautifully he conveyed it to Hammad that may be he has a bigger purpose in his life, that is why it was only Imaan who left this world & not him. I am sure now as the course of life will take place, Hammad will find a bigger purpose, a real purpose of his life & he will then realize what this traveler meant. I loved how their conversation ended on a very personal yet sweet note, it is good to see that Hammad also has another person rooting for him & wishing him well!

I found a little editing glitch in this episode & it was related Narmeen. When she met Hammad the moment he returned to his home, she spoke about her fiancé & compared him to Hammad but a few scenes later when Abrina & Narmeen are shown talking, Abrina insists that Narmeen & Hammad still stand a chance, where Narmeen clearly tells Abrina that her family can choose anyone for her but she won’t get married to Hammad because she can not connect to him & doesn’t think she deserves a guy like him. I think they should’ve switched the order of these conversations to make a point that despite trying, Abrina couldn’t convince Narmeen & then Narmeen moved on in her life by getting engaged to someone else. Also, I so so so wish they had chosen someone else to play the role of Hammad’s friend Reby, I think so far every single actor has performed really well but she is the only weakling in this drama, she showed her acting skills (if any) in Dhaani so I knew not much would’ve changed & I was right. Yes, they must’ve chosen her to fit the image of a Pakistani girl residing in USA because of her accent & stuff but I think Kanza Wayne would’ve been a better option because this particular actress can’t really act. I really hope she has some limited scenes in the remaining episodes!

Overall, this episode was interesting. It is good to see that Hammad himself is trying to be normal in front of his family but at the back of his mind he knows that he has one such place where he can go & pour his heart out without feeling guilty. Hammad understands that his family is having a hard time seeing him like that, that is why he doesn’t really display any sort of emotions in front of them. It was good to see Hammad’s parents finally acting like parents where they were concerned for him & were trying to walk an extra mile to make him feel better & bring him back to normal.

Ohkay, I think I have ignored it for a long time & even though the usage of those lyrics has been limited in this season but I think I really need to address that issue. I totally understand that they are showing some extreme form of love that any man can feel for a woman but I really think in order to showcase that, they shouldn’t violate the boundaries that shouldn’t be touched. I don’t usually use this word but I hate, yes I hate these lyrics & cringe every single time I hear them where it says ‘mere mehboob ki surat mai Rabb dekhoon to kya samjhoon…mera Qibla tu, Kaba hai mera, meri mannat hai’, like yes, we all are a fan of the love they have shown but to compare a mere human being to a Creator & to associate the symbols that are related to the worshiping of The Almighty to a human being is a big NO NO. I really wish they stop using that particular piece to showcase how much Hammad loves Imaan because you know what, we all know, by now we all are well aware of that & we have clearly gotten the message of love that you guys are trying to convey & yes, I admit that I am a fan of their love story too but there’s a thin line which shouldn’t be crossed just to show the level of the love one human being can feel for another. Anyways, I loved the scene where Hammad reads Imaan’s letter & cries helplessly & touches it because it reminds him of the fact that this is something that was personally sent to Hammad by her. All the actors have done a brilliant job & yes, I totally appreciate that lack of to & fro & the flashbacks in this episode. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat.

Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 15 Review – Simply Beautiful!

OMG!!! What a beautiful & powerful episode this was of Khuda Aur Mohabbat. I am once again in loveee. I will thank the team of Khuda Aur Mohabbat & especially Imran Abbas for giving us yet another beautiful episode laced with so many emotions that were conveyed flawlessly. This episode surely was depressing, but not in a bad way at all because that phase of depression was conveyed beautifully & realistically at that. I am so so so glad that they didn’t take much time & transitioned to another phase seamlessly. This has to be one of my favorite episodes of Khuda Aur Mohabbat because each & everything was just so convincing & shown in such a manner that I couldn’t take my eyes off the TV screen. I am so glad that they didn’t overdo anything & made everything quite relate-able & realistic also, the perfect pace of this episode was an added bonus. Thank you so much once again Team Khuda Aur Mohabbat.

It was good to see Abdullah at least trying to take a stand for the right, for the sake of Imaan’s well-being but unfortunately he remained unheard because his logic & reasoning was nothing in comparison to Molvi Aleemuddin’s inflated ego. Despite seeing how his daughter Imaan was suffering & was at the brink of losing her life, he still continued to push his luck where he wanted to prepone Imaan & Abdullah’s wedding thinking it will serve as a distraction & diversion for Imaan. Even though in the previous episode, Abdullah didn’t leave a good impression because I thought he was thinking about himself first but he totally redeemed himself when he tried to plead Hammad’s case in front of Molvi Aleem. Everything that Abdullah felt & said went to show that even he couldn’t stop himself from admitting that Hammad’s love was bigger than any other emotion anyone else has ever felt for Imaan. Abdullah knew that this is the only burden that overtook Imaan’s heart & soul & sadly, being a very sensitive person, Imaan was succumbing to it.

Usually when I see the scenes which include a lot of crying & mourning, I forward them because I find them a bit too depressing but this was done just so perfectly & convincingly that I shed a tear or two with them when they bid farewell to Imaan. Even though that entire scene belonged to Imaan & Hammad because they came across each other for the very very last time but one thing that stood out the most for me was Molvi Aleem’s expressions when he saw his daughter smiling while looking at Hammad, it was like he realized at that particular moment what Hammad meant to her & how Imaan had the same love for Hammad in her heart, but he was unable to do anything because it was too late. Abdullah definitely was the hero in this entire situation where he felt so much for both Hammad & Imaan that he didn’t want them to deprive of each other’s presence anymore, even though he knew that Molvi Aleem wouldn’t be happy with what he was about to do but for the first time he didn’t care much about anything & all that he had on his mind was the small interaction that he wanted Hammad & Imaan to have with each other before it gets too late & everyone is left with regret & only regret. I felt so so so bad for Hammad because the moment Molvi Aleem could see the intensity of Hammad’s love for Imaan, it was when she was on her death bed & probably taking her last breaths, sigh!

To be honest, after Imaan died, I literally had no idea what they were going to show, even though I was eager to see what was going to happen but I had no idea & honestly speaking, I was pleasantly surprised with the way they showed Hammad’s depression & how his mind was reacting to what he just witnessed. Imaan was the center of Hammad’s universe & now she was no more, so it was absolutely natural that he went into shock & was unable to cope with what just happened in his life. Hammad never could imagine living a life without Imaan being a part of it, so now, when his unimaginable nightmare came true, he couldn’t take it anymore. Even though Hammad knew that Molvi Aleem was a hard nut to crack, but all this while, the thing that kept him going was his hope & faith that may be, may be one day Molvi Aleem will realize what Imaan means to Hammad & may be he will allow them both to be together but Imaan’s death was something that he never had imagined & sadly, this is something which Hammad is going to live with for the rest of his life.

The reactions of all those people who love Hammad were just so heart-touching & realistic. Hammad’s mother, Kamran, Ebaad, Ghafoor, Kheru, Shakir, Siddique, Nighat, Nighat’s mother, all of them were worried for Hammad because they not only felt his pain but were finding it hard to see Hammad in such a condition. For the first time, Molvi Aleem prayed for Hammad because after losing his own child, he could understand what Hammad’s family & friends must be going through. All this while, I kept on sighing, wondering how different things would have been if Molvi Aleem had accepted Hammad’s feelings for Imaan, how different things would have been if he wasn’t so egoistic & how different things would have been if he hadn’t put religion & societal norms at the same pedestal! Sigh!

Hammad recovered but he still is unable to accept what has happened, its like he has lost the will to live, that is why he isn’t even trying to get back to normal. I loved how they showed what Hammad was going through because everything seemed just so realistic, believable & convincing, but it is good to see that even Hammad’s parent gave up & allowed others to make the decision for Hammad’s well-being, it showed that even they, to some extent hold themselves responsible for what has happened & what their son Hammad has been through. Hammad’s parents actually underestimated the love Hammad had for Imaan, that is why they never could have imagined that their son will be pushed to that limit where he will lose the will to live. It is good that Hammad is actually surrounded by the people he relates with, the people who came into his life when he had nothing, those people who stood by him through thick & thin & those people who have formed genuine relationships with Hammad, because all these people will help Hammad in bringing him back to life, even though it will be a long ride but they will make it happen because they connect to Hammad on a very different emotional level, the level which even his parents can’t come to!

I loved this episode, like they say, they saved the best for the last, last in regards to Imaan’s journey because it was conveyed beautifully. The direction of this episode was brilliant & I am so glad that due to our feedback, they are making some changes, which actually makes me, as a viewer feel very special. For the first time after a lot of episodes, I didn’t mind the flashbacks because they befitted the situation really well. I know Hammad’s journey will include flashbacks of Imaan from now on but I wish they keep them limited, like how they were in this episode because then it wouldn’t get overbearing. To be honest, even though I was a little put off with the off-synced audio of this uploaded episode in the beginning but just because this episode was so good & engrossing, I didn’t even pay attention to it. It is actually amazing that the actors have done such a brilliant job that the laziness of the uploaders can be ignored but I must say, the people responsible for online uploads are actually killing the charm of such a beautiful drama & it is sad that where the entire team especially the actors have done so much of hard-work in bringing the best version of this love-story to the viewers, the uploaders of Khuda Aur Mohabbat are a bunch of lazy people who don’t even bother about what they are putting up online, it is absolutely sad & unfortunate.

Anyways, the heroes of this episode for me were Abdullah, for the way he tried to help Hammad & Imaan, Humayun Ashraf has made Abdullah’s character far more special, realistic & east to relate to, Imaan for that very heart-wrenching but beautiful expression when her eyes met Hammad’s eyes for the last time, like it was one such expression that had to be “perfect” because it is going to be remembered till the end of this journey (or probably even after that) & Sadia Khan surely delivered & last but definitely not the least, the hero of the show; Imran Abbas, for making us feel Hammad’s pain every step of the way. The scene where Ghafoor is trying to have a conversation with Hammad, but he just sits there expressionless with tears in his eyes…another absolutely brilliant moment of this beautiful episode. Special thanks to Imran Abbas, Sadia Khan & Humayun Ashraf for breathing life into these characters & making this journey just so special, memorable & unforgettable. Please share your thoughts about this beautiful episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat.

Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 14 Review – Fairly Decent!

Ohkay so, this episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat was interesting but honestly speaking, I wouldn’t say it was as impressive as the last few episodes were because for the first time, I found the flashbacks & the repetition of previously spoken dialogues a bit overbearing. Even though this episode had a lot of development to its credit & we got to see some anxiousness & nervousness in the actions of some characters, which surely was a good addition, but somehow for me, I am not sure why this episode on the whole didn’t leave an impact. For the first time I found the direction to be all over the place, like in the beginning there were three scenarios that were being shown simultaneously, which wasn’t necessary I believe. I think the director should have kept this sort of coverage limited to some very very important scenarios because to see it being overused & overdone is sort of killing the charm of it, which actually at first used to look like a very strong & impactful way of narrating a story. Also, I really think that they should’ve wrapped the events of the first season by this episode because as we all have seen it previously, we know that 14 episodes were enough to cover the first half of the novel. There’s definitely no doubt about the fact that the acting was top-notch like always & there was not even a single actor that didn’t perform well but its just that the overall editing, direction & the overpowering background music didn’t let me enjoy this episode as much as I wanted to.

So, Abdullah eventually learned the truth that Imaan went to Purani Haveli & grew curious because he actually assumed that Imaan & Haya, along with their mother must’ve went to do some last minute shopping. Abdullah’s reaction was believable because he couldn’t even imagine that Imaan would step outside the vicinity of her home & go to some place which actually might be associated with Hammad. Abdullah’s curiosity got the better of him & that is why upon probing he got to know that even Hammad visited Purani Haveli yesterday. All of a sudden, the entire puzzle got solved itself & Abdullah realized that Imaan & Hammad met each other. To be honest, I always felt that Abdullah felt guilty for coming in Hammad’s way but the way he decided to speak to Hammad & warn him elaborated the jealousy that he was harboring in his heart. Abdullah has loved Imaan all his life, but for Abdullah, the thought that his love couldn’t touch Imaan, couldn’t affect Imaan the way Hammad’s love did was intolerable. Abdullah’s warning was basically a depiction of how helpless he was feeling at that time that he decided to tell Hammad that he should leave him & his family alone. This was probably the first time when Abdullah became agitated seeing the power of Hammad’s love & his emotions for Imaan because despite loving Imaan all his life, Abdullah was unable to win her heart over. Even though Hammad put Abdullah’s speculations to rest that Imaan only came to request him to return to where he belongs & to not expect anything because for her, her father’s dignity & pride meant everything, but still just the thought that Imaan went to meet Hammad was enough for Abdullah to know that she must’ve some feelings for Hammad as well that she grew so concerned for him.

So, it looks like Amjad Raza is getting affected by what Hammad has done & what he is trying to achieve. The way he tried to look at the guy crossing the road in curiosity showed what he as a father of Hammad must’ve been going through. Yes, for Amjad Raza it might be difficult to admit but it still remains a fact that Hammad is his son & he loves him a lot, that is why hearing such harsh words from Abrina’s father about Hammad shook Amjad Raza & he definitely felt hurt that Hammad was being insulted like that. To be honest, even though I want the story to move forward & I want to see the events that took place in the second half of the novel, I so am not in a mood to see Abrina & her antics. I think Abrina has played her part & she has already destroyed Hammad’s relationship with his parents, so she should put a lid on everything because her announcement of not forgiving Hammad was distasteful & disturbing. No more negative character please!

Kamran & Ebaad want Najma to put things in perspective for Hammad because they know that out of all the people, Hammad actually listens to her & can’t say no to her. Najma has already been thinking about Hammad’s future because she knows that his love for Imaan has no future, so she most certainly doesn’t want Hammad to waste his life by thinking about what didn’t happen & what wasn’t meant to be, that is why, Najma immediately understood what Kamran & Ebaad were trying to say. It was good to see Hammad’s family getting involved & coming back into the picture because eventually Hammad will return to his home & his family.

Imaan is feeling guilty for going out of the way to see Hammad because she knows that this is something that wouldn’t sit well with her father. Imaan is under depression & it’s like she is now punishing herself but even though she loves Hammad, her reasons of punishing herself are different. Imaan knows that her father will never ever forgive her if he’ll find out that she met Hammad & had a conversation with him & that guilt is huge in itself for Imaan. Haya’s letter to Hammad, informing him about what Imaan was going through was heart-touching. It is good to see that there’s at least someone who understands Imaan & feels for her. The scene where both Abdullah & Hammad pray for Imaan was meaningful, beautiful & probably my favorite scene of this episode. They both feel for Imaan, they both love Imaan but they aren’t competing with each other because their main concern is Imaan & her safety. I felt nothing when I saw Molvi Aleemuddin crying out loud for his daughter, sorry, I just didn’t.

It is hard to see Hammad in pain. It is sad to see that even though Hammad has promised Molvi Aleemuddin that he wouldn’t do anything that might put a dent on his family or his image, Hammad is questioned time & again, he is doubted repeatedly & is told to not do anything that might hurt Imaan. Hammad has proved his love for Imaan & he has done more than anyone would ever do in order to prove the purity of his intentions, but it is heart-breaking that Hammad is misunderstood every single time. They all have conveniently held Hammad responsible for all the mishaps but none of them, apart from Haya, feels that they might have played a part in this destruction too. Even though Abdullah did feel guilty & told Haya that he is afraid to even confess that they all might be wronging Imaan, but then again, it’s of no use because Abdullah is not doing anything to help the situation either!

Overall, this episode was decent but it definitely could’ve been better. To be honest, even though I never had any issues with the flashbacks, I have now started dreading the thought of when the story will progress & Hammad will try to move on, how many flashbacks will we have to see then. At this stage, I don’t even feel the need to listen to those repeated dialogues because the drama-makers have helped me in memorizing them. I will commend the uploaders for a good quality video but I am not sure what was wrong with the audio quality, where at one moment the volume was too low that the dialogues were inaudible & in the next, it was too high that I’d feel I was being deafened by the sound. I really wish they had picked some other background music for serious scenarios & situations because this one is cringe-worthy & sadly, it was used way too much in this episode. Rambo, Imran Abbas, Humayun Ashraf, the actors playing the roles of Najma, Shakir & Haya, they all performed beautifully. Once again, in quite a few scenes, Imran Abbas’s perfect & realistic portrayal made me emotional. This journey has been special because of Imran Abbas for sure. Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 13 Review – It Was Magical!

…& the awesomeness prevails. Team Khuda Aur Mohabbat has done it again, this was another beautiful episode that kept my eyes glued to the screen because of such awesome, convincing & power-packed performances. I will admit that this episode had a slow start but then the note at which it ended made it justified because everything fell at a right place & the build up was necessary. This episode flowed like a crescendo, it slowly & steadily took us through Hammad’s journey; from his anticipation, to his moment of glory, to his disbelief & in the end his heart-wrenching breakdown. Everything was woven beautifully & I had a great time watching it. I think apart from a great direction, it is solely Hammad’s character & Imran Abbas’s acting that has elevated the level of this drama. Even though it is a combined effort & for sure each & every single person associated with this team on & off camera deserves recognition & praises but Imran Abbas deserves a standing ovation for such a perfect portrayal & for being such a convincing focal point of this drama.

The day finally came & Imaan literally had to mentally prepare herself to meet Hammad because she knew how important it was & even she realized that to put her aching heart to rest, she’d have to do this. Imaan had so many inhibitions, she had so many reasons not to do anything of this sort but just because the exchange of a few words through Hammad’s letter was just so overwhelmingly convincing for her, she deliberately ended up giving in. Even though Haya helped Imaan in putting things to perspective, but in the end, it was Imaan & her will power to do right by Hammad, which compelled her to do something which she never would’ve imagined she’d do & that was, meeting Hammad personally & having a conversation with him. Imaan has always made sure to spend her entire life the way her father wants her to, she also has seen how much her father has suffered & Molvi Aleemuddin means the world to her but deep down, even she couldn’t resist the power of Hammad’s love because she understood how strong, how pure it was & how much attraction it had, which basically was a result of his pure intentions.

Even though Abdullah is going to get married to the one he has loved all his life, but the way even he seems uncomfortable & lost in his thoughts goes to show that Hammad’s emotions have not only affected Imaan but they have affected Abdullah too because somehow he feels everything that is happening isn’t right. Even though Abdullah has loved Imaan but he has seen the intensity with which Hammad has loved her & because of that Abdullah thinks he is betraying Hammad by crushing his dream of getting married to Imaan. It actually goes to show that the truthfulness of Hammad’s love for Imaan has forced everyone to do some thinking, be it those people around Hammad or those who’re around Imaan but sadly, the one who chooses to stay conveniently indifferent is Molvi Aleemuddin. He is just as rigid as a tyrant who loves to dictate people to save his own pride!!!

Finally, the magical moment arrived in Hammad’s life when he got to know that Imaan came to meet him. That entire scene was just so beautiful & special because both Hammad & Imaan’s perspectives were made clear & their emotions were channeled. Hammad lived through that moment & he experienced so many emotions, where at first he couldn’t believe that he was seeing Imaan & that she made an effort to meet him, then Hammad started absorbing everything that she was saying, trying to understand her point of view while still being hopeful that may be she will accept his love & then in the end, after getting to know that this was probably the last time he will ever see her, he ended up not taking his eyes off her as if he was trying to encapsulate her image in his eyes for the rest of his life. It was beautiful & it was magical. For Imaan, the guilt of Hammad torturing himself was overwhelming, because of which she couldn’t stop her tears. I loved how Imaan while still respecting & acknowledging Hammad’s feelings ended up telling him what she wants him to do & how he should stop punishing himself. Imaan knew this was probably the first & the last time she was getting a chance to pour her heart out in front of Hammad, that is why she told him about how she was raised, basically trying to clear off her father’s name as even she felt that he was the reason why Hammad was pushing himself to the limit. Imaan ended up acknowledging Hammad’s love & in a very subtle manner, she confessed about how his love was affecting her & how she wished or prayed that may be in Afterlife, she will get to be with Hammad as she knew how pure his love for her was. The way Hammad was trying to process everything that Imaan said & in the end getting disappointed at what destiny had in store for him, was absolutely heart-breaking. Throughout this journey, Hammad did feel helpless at times but he never lost hope but this was the first time when Hammad ended up losing hope as he heard it from Imaan personally that she couldn’t do anything & expected him to return to his family. Imaan ended up returning those pearls to Hammad because she knew what they meant to him & this was her way of bidding farewell to Hammad, while still having his love in her heart too.

Hammad had a breakdown because he realized that the answer to his request was a clear cut no. Hammad for the first time not only felt helpless but hopeless too as this time around, it was Imaan who gave him that answer. All this while, Hammad still wished, prayed & imagined that may be things will change, may be Molvi Aleemuddin will change but now, his fears were confirmed that nothing was going to change & he will have to live his life without Imaan & that burden was just so overbearing that Hammad lost control of his emotions. This was for the first time that Hammad questioned his fate, his destiny & everything that was around him because the answer to all his prayers was unfortunately a no, sigh!

This episode was absolutely beautiful. Despite having a slow beginning, this episode ended at such a high note. Sadia Khan nailed her performance & she was very convincing as Imaan, her dialogue delivery, her expressions, the sadness in her eyes & disappointment on her face knowing that she was hurting Hammad’s feelings – everything was on-point. The direction of this episode was simple but done in a way to leave an impact. This episode like all the other episodes also had one such moment which made me shed a tear & that was when Imaan on her way out turns & looks back at Hammad & they both probably see each other for the last time. The song was used perfectly at that point & it enhanced the charm & beauty of that scene. To be honest, I have never loathed Molvi Aleemuddin as much as I did in this episode, seeing him acting as an overly concerned father made me loathe him so much because he had no idea how much he was making a harmless guy like Hammad suffer. This goes to show how convincing Firdous Jamal’s acting as Molvi Aleemuddin is. Now coming to the star of not only this episode but this entire show, Imran Abbas, he perfectly portrayed the emotional transition of Hammad, where he went through so much & experienced so many emotions, it was actually like a roller-coaster ride & thrilling one at that because Imran Abbas acted his heart & soul out to make us viewers feel for Hammad & fall in love with his character. Thank you for such level of dedication & perfection! Please share your thoughts about this beautiful episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat.

Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 12 Review – Love Story Done Right!

Ohkay so, this episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat was a bit on the slower side but nevertheless I had a great time watching it because it still had some very crucial developments to its credit. I liked the fact that this episode had a lesser number of flashbacks & the to & fro was mostly between the events that were taking place in the present. I really like how the team of Khuda Aur Mohabbat never falters in stirring some emotions in every other episode because this time around too, there came a couple of scenes which touched me & left me feeling overwhelmed. When the drama or the characters start affecting & touching the viewers on an emotional level, it definitely seals the deal that everything has been done to perfection! Well done Team Khuda Aur Mohabbat!

So, Kamran & Ebaad got to meet Hammad & they came up with the solution that Hammad’s choices should be respected & nothing should be done which might push Hammad away from them as well. Even though seeing Hammad’s mother crying for her son did make Kamran & Ebaad feel bad for her but it was good to see that they chose to stick with their decision of keeping Hammad’s whereabouts a secret. I did feel bad for Hammad’s mother though because may be for the first time she realized her mistakes & she realized how she took her son for granted. It is sad that Abrina has so much of say in that house, that too in those matters where she can see a son & a mother have drifted apart because of her & her sister. It is actually quite immature & selfish of Abrina to think everyone in her husband’s family should put her younger sister ahead of Hammad, the son of this family too!

Abdullah decided to address the issue that was bothering him & that was to find out about Imaan’s perspective about this marriage that was decided by her father. Even though Imaan did try to come clean with Abdullah but the answer that she gave him was enough for him to know that she was only following the orders of her father & didn’t have her heart into it. Abdullah might not have reacted but his expressions were enough to tell a tale of what he was going through when he got to know that Imaan was not emotionally involved in this relationship that they both were about to form.

It was good to see that at least Haya decided to put things into perspective for Imaan. Haya can see that just by seeing Hammad in pain, Imaan is not herself anymore as well & as much as Hammad needs, Imaan also needs a closure. Haya knows that Imaan feels guilty & she also knows that her entire family is the reason why Hammad is punishing himself, so Haya decided to take the matter in her hands where she wanted to do something for Hammad so that he stops torturing himself because of Imaan – because of a girl who he can never be with. Even though Imaan retaliated but it was good to see that she understood Haya’s perspective too & realized that everything that Haya was saying wasn’t a lie & yes, Imaan herself has been feeling guilty for Hammad’s current situation, that is why she gave in & sent him a letter. It was heart-wrenching to see Hammad all lost in his thoughts when he got a message from Nighat that Imaan wanted to send him a message, it looked like he wasn’t himself because the anticipation was getting the better of him & he only had one thing on his mind, which was his upcoming meeting with either Haya or Imaan!

The best scene of this episode for me was the conversation Siddique, Najma & Hammad had about Hammad’s further education & the way Najma showed him a path through which Hammad could shape up his future. It is sad that everyone knows Imaan is practically out of Hammad’s life therefore they all feel burdened & responsible for the fact that they can’t let Hammad ruin his life while chasing a shadow which he can never get his hands on. Najma’s idea behind the thesis was actually based on Hammad’s personal struggle, his entire journey which has taught him so much & she knew, that Hammad had to put this experience to good use because this is the only thing which is going to help him move on in his life.

Hammad sent a letter back to Imaan & that made her even more restless. The way Imaan broke down after reading what Hammad wrote went to show that she was not only feeling guilty for him but she was also in love with him as well, so much that her heart ached when she got to know what Hammad was feeling. Another beautiful scene was the conversation between Haya & Imaan, where Haya addressed the elephant in the room & tried to get to the root cause of what actually it was that was bothering Imaan & making her restless? Haya did try to put a label on what it was that Imaan was feeling & she asked her sister if it was the emotion of love that unwillingly Imaan developed for Hammad? I loved how Haya suggested that Imaan should at least meet Hammad once to get to a conclusion & understand what is it that is making her so anxious.

Overall, this episode was beautiful & I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. I love how strategically they use the OST, it just adds so much charm to the entire scenario. However, I will say that in few of the scenes, I found the background music to be quite loud & annoying, I really hope they stop using that particular piece because I literally had to mute my TV as that sound was so irritating. Also, I will say I am so disappointed with those people working at GEO TV who are responsible for uploading the online episodes because where last week we all were requesting them to improve the quality, this time around the audio was not in sync with the video & it just killed like literally ruined the charm of the episode. I really think they need to be considerate towards the viewers & their wishes because this is most certainly not the right way to treat the fans of GEO’s drama. Anyways, needless to say that Imran Abbas was perfect in this episode as well. I just absolutely love how expressive his eyes are like you can feel the pain & intensity of each & every emotion that the character of Hammad is going through & that is only because of Imran Abbas’s perfect portrayal. The rest of the cast did a beautiful job too but the one who stood out for me in this episode was the girl who is playing the role of Haya, she actually seemed like a concerned younger sister who wanted to make things right & was doing everything to play her part, she seemed so genuinely concerned & it looked just so realistic. I can’t wait to see what’s more in store for us, please share your thoughts about this episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat.

Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 11 Review – Beautifully Overwhelming!

This episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat was absolutely & incredibly beautiful. This particular episode was a blend of so many beautiful emotions which were portrayed extremely well especially because they were related to Hammad & that is the reason why I found myself getting overwhelmed a couple of times. What I loved watching tonight in Khuda Aur Mohabbat was the realistic approach with which the emotions were conveyed; Hammad’s own emotions & the emotions of those people who are related to Hammad through the relation of love & respect, absolutely brilliant. Even though we saw a lot of flashbacks in this episode & for some people, it might make the pace of the episode a bit slow but to be honest, I didn’t mind it at all, for me, when something works, it just works & that is the reason why I am absolutely in love with this drama because everything is working, be it direction or editing or acting of all the actors. For me, Khuda Aur Mohabbat has turned out to be a completeeeee package & for that I thank the entire Team of Khuda Aur Mohabbat, thank you, well done & congratulations on exceeding the expectations that the viewers had with you guys & this project! :)

For me, the best bits of this episode were the conversations that Hammad & Najma shared, that was first time I found myself getting overwhelmed because Hammad could see the beauty of honesty & truthfulness in each & every single word that was coming from Najma. Najma does not have a child, but she has formed such a unique bond with Hammad that she has started considering him as her own son, which is absolutely beautiful & that is the reason we saw that Najma herself couldn’t hold her tears back seeing Hammad in pain. I loved the comparison that they showed between Hammad’s mother & Najma, yes, the fact still remains that Hammad’s mother might love Hammad more & she might be worried for him too, but the one who understood his pain, saw his sufferings & realized what he was going through like a mother should, it was Najma, that is why even Hammad couldn’t hold back & ended up sharing each & every little detail regarding Imaan & what he feels for her. Hammad & Najma’s conversation about defining the feelings Hammad has for Imaan was absolutely heart-touching & was so beautifully written. Hats off for the dialogue writer to come up with such meaningful & deep dialogues to add more charm to all the conversations.

Shakir’s concern for Hammad got the better of him & that is why on his family’s persuasion, he ended up contacting Ghafoor to find out where Hammad was. Nighat was right, she had to tell Hammad everything about what was transpiring in Imaan’s life as she felt it was important for Hammad to know. I absolutely love seeing how after regaining some strength, Hammad went to meet his colleagues. That scene was quite special too where Hammad was received with such a warm welcome. I absolutely love the warmth everyone has towards Hammad, there is something just so beautiful about it, because it goes to show that these people might not luxuries to offer to Hammad, but all they have is all sorts of emotions, which is exactly what Hammad needs. For Hammad to say that he didn’t want Ghafoor to treat him differently went to show how dignified he was & how he believed in equality. Hammad is trying hard to form an identity of his own & that is why the last thing he wants right now is to be treated differently because of the tag of being Commissioner Amjad Raza’s son, which is something that he has bid farewell to.

Hammad ended up meeting Nighat & found out that Imaan was going to get married to Abdullah. Even though that was a short scene but I liked the conversation between Abdullah & Tonga owner, it was like for the first time we were getting introduced to Abdullah in a different light & were getting an insight into him, putting the facade of him being a religious preacher aside. I know that particular conversation didn’t tell us much but for a change, it was nice. Anyways, as expected, Hammad couldn’t take the news of Imaan’s marriage well & it ended up taking a toll on Hammad. That scene once again was just so beautiful, heart-wrenching at the same time & overwhelming too. I hate to see Hammad getting defeated again & again & again. ‘Ye ma’amla hukum ka nahi, arz ka hai’, Hammad was still hopeful all this while but he got a final verdict, he got to know that his request was refused, it was rejected & there was no way that it will ever be reconsidered & that is something that Hammad couldn’t bear the burden of.

I absolutely loved seeing how each & every single person, Siddique, Najma, Shakir, Nighat, Ghafoor, Kheru, all of them were concerned about Hammad & that is why, Najma & Siddique decided to contact someone from Hammad’s family to at least help him in one way or the other. Kamran & Ebaad came to meet Hammad & it was actually quite nice to see Hammad getting a chance to explain himself once again. All he wants is his family to apologize to Molvi Aleemuddin, for insulting him & for accusing him of devising a plan along with Imaan to trap him. Hammad knows it is something that his family wouldn’t ever do, that is why he hasn’t even thought of returning back to his old life or his family!

It was impossible to not fall in love with a person like Hammad, who has gone to such an extent for his love, to prove that his intentions are pure, to prove to the entire world that what he feels for Imaan is something that can not be described in words, that is why as the episodes are passing by, we are getting to see how Imaan is falling deeper & deeper in love with Hammad too. Imaan sympathizes with Hammad & feels burdened seeing him suffer, but the reason why she sheds tears is because she is in love with him & she can not confess. Imaan felt like her heart would explode after all the details that Nighat shared about Hammad & that is only because she loves him but she can not say. Imaan hates seeing Hammad suffering so much because of her & may be that is why, she will end up fulfilling Nighat’s wish of having a conversation with Hammad only to tell him to stop punishing himself & to return back to his old life & his family.

Overall, this episode was absolutely beautiful. I love how realistically all the emotions have been portrayed. I must say, even though the dialogues have been a strength of this drama, but in this particular episode, each & every single dialogue was beautiful, it was meaningful & it had a depth to elaborate the emotions each & every character was going through. I loved the acting of all the actors in this episode too, like each & every character in this drama or story has a meaning, has a reason & contributes to the story in a very unique way. Najma is a friend, a mother & a confidant to Hammad, Siddique is like a father-figure to him, Ghafoor & Kheru are his well-wishers & are friends, Shakir is another father-figure who is concerned about Hammad’s well-being. It was absolutely beautiful to see how Hammad has touched each & everyone’s heart & life in such a way that their heart bleeds when they see him in so much of pain. I’d appreciate if someone will tell me the name of the actor playing the role of Shakir, because I find his acting just so beautiful & realistic, he has so much of pain on his face whenever he sees Hammad punishing himself, I just love each & every scene that Shakir & Hammad share. The actress playing the role of Najma has done such a wonderful job too, I love how she is authoritative for Hammad’s own good, she is like a sister, a friend & a mother to him which is heart-warming.

Now coming to the star of the episode, it was undoubtedly Imran Abbas, it is absolutely amazing how his eyes speak, I found myself shedding a tear or two when Hammad cried holding a hand of Najma as he found someone to rely on emotionally. In that particular scene, Imran Abbas stole the show. His eyes are just so expressive & even though I have said it before, I will say it again, there was no other actor who could’ve done justice to the character of Hammad the way Imran Abbas has done. Thank you so much Imran Abbas! Please share your thoughts about this beautiful episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat!

Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 10 Review – Shehzada Fakeer Ban’nay Ko Hai!

Ohkay so, when did this episode begin & when did it end, I absolutely have no idea. This episode, like all the previous episodes was engaging & captivating as well. I am actually quite impressed with the way the director has added so much of emotion in this drama that you just can’t help feel the pain of all these characters. I always love it when the thought process & the perspective of all the characters is conveyed with a lot of clarity, because it helps the viewers form a bond with all the characters & that actually ends up becoming a winning factor for any drama, that is why, along with many others, this is the reason why Khuda Aur Mohabbat is winning hearts!

Oh, I wish, I so wish that Molvi Aleemuddin had practiced what he preached. Molvi Aleeumuddin in stead of simplifying the criteria for choosing a spouse, ended up making it quite complicated because he wanted to prove a point to Hammad that no matter what he does, his family background & his upbringing is going to be the defining factor of his personality all his life. Molvi Aleeumuddin proved today that he is just a very judgmental person who on the surface might put religion above everything else, but deep inside, puts society & its norms ahead of the religion too & actually has no courage to break free from those standards. In stead of seeing Hammad’s efforts as honest & truthful, Molvi Aleeumuddin passed a verdict that Hammad was putting up a show only because he wanted to impress him so that he accepts Hammad’s proposal for Imaan. Even though I believe the portrayal of Molvi Aleeumuddin in this season is a bit harsh but somehow it doesn’t seem odd because it sheds a light on the complicated mind set of such people is, who are unable to maintain a balance & who are incapable of keeping religious & societal values apart. Molvi Aleeumuddin is quite conniving in my opinion because he is someone who knows how to reap benefits in any situation, where when deemed necessary, he brings religion into the picture but when it doesn’t seem to work & goes against his personal wishes or thinking, he puts false & fake standards of the society in the limelight, making it a sound like a part of the pivotal religion too.

Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 10 Review - Shehzada Fakeer Ban'nay Ko Hai!

Hammad did promise to give up on the hope of getting married to Imaan because he couldn’t see Molvi Aleeumuddin in so much of pain, but as a result, he took everything to his heart & that took a toll on his health. It is actually quite nice to see how Hammad has found a new family in such a short span of time, that too on the basis of his conduct & personality. All the relationships that Hammad has earned during this time are based on love, respect, courtesy & selflessness because no one actually knows who Hammad is & which social background does he belong to. When Hammad left his father’s house, he had nothing but just his honesty with him & that is something that has earned him so much in such a short span of time. I actually loved it how Hammad was the focus of everyone’s concerns, starting from Kheru to Ghafoor to Siddique & now his wife Najma too. Kheru eavesdropped on Molvi Aleeumuddin & Hammad’s conversation & he got to know that Hammad is a son of a commissioner & that’s how Ghafoor got to know that his gut feeling about Hammad wasn’t wrong & he wasn’t just an ordinary guy. Najma’s entry at this stage of the drama was a good addition I believe. It is good to know that Hammad will now have a sister with whom he will be able to share all his feelings.

Molvi Aleeumuddin informed Abdullah that he wanted to get Imaan married to her. If I put Hammad’s suffering aside & consider the feelings Abdullah has for Imaan, it was actually quite nice to see Abdullah getting some sort of happiness, that too without demanding it because he has Imaan in his heart as well & came with an intention of being closer to her, so without even saying anything, he got to know that things were turning in his favor & the way Abdullah tried to contain his happiness in front of Molvi Aleeumuddin was actually conveyed brilliantly. Even though Hammad is persistent, but Abdullah does know Molvi Aleeumuddin quite well & he knows that if he decides something, he will never back out from his word, so despite knowing everything that was happening, Abdullah felt some sort of satisfaction because he was aware of how stubborn Molvi Aleeumuddin is & can be!

After returning from her cousin’s wedding, the way Imaan looked around at the railway station, in a hope to spot Hammad clearly showed what she had in her heart. Imaan has seen how hard Hammad has struggled for her, she has seen him getting shattered & picking up the pieces only for the sake of her love, so it was imperative that she was moved & probably ended up falling in love with him because who wouldn’t be touched with such a genuine & pure portrayal of love. Imaan couldn’t see Hammad but yes, it was evident that her eyes were searching for him. Hammad has not only made an impact on Imaan, but he has even touched Haya’s heart as well, that is why out of sheer sympathy for him, Haya informed Nighat about Hammad & his whereabouts as she knew that everyone was worried for him & it was a high time that his people came to his rescue because he was suffering a lot & was literally punishing himself!

Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 10 Review - Shehzada Fakeer Ban'nay Ko Hai!

In this episode, Hammad himself took a back seat but it showed how he was affecting all those people who were related to him in any way possible. From Kheru, to Ghafoor, to Siddique, to Najma, to Shakir, to Shakir’s wife, Nighat, Haya, Imaan, each & every single person was worried about Hammad & was either trying to do something for him or was feeling his pain, which is beautiful because it goes to show how special Hammad is & how special he has become for all of those people who are linked to him in one way or the other.

So, the best bit for me was the very last scene of this episode because it was beautifully directed & edited. Molvi Aleeumuddin playfully & innocently imposed his decision on Imaan because he knew that she will not retaliate. In the very first episode, Molvi Aleeumuddin did speak about how he knows Imaan in & out, so it was too obvious that he was a 100% sure that his daughter Imaan won’t turn his request down. The way Imaan said yes to her father’s request went to show that her heart & soul was filled with Hammad’s thoughts & his love but her mind was forcing her to say those words which only would make her father happy. Even after saying yes to Molvi Aleeumuddin, Imaan didn’t seem happy, in fact she seemed defeated & numb because even though what she said made her father satisfied but she wasn’t content with her decision as she knew that the thoughts of a guy like Hammad who is madly in love with her will haunt her for the rest of her life, sigh! I absolutely loved that scene because the flashbacks that Imaan was having while uttering those words by being submissive portrayed the battle between her heart & mind perfectly!

Overall, this episode was just as beautiful as the last few episodes of Khuda Aur Mohabbat. The direction & the editing of this drama is absolutely on-fleek & probably the strength of this drama. All the actors have played their part really well. Sadia Khan has improved so much & for the first time through her expressions, I could read the storm that had overtaken Imaan’s entire being. Firdous Jamal as Molvi Aleemuddin is very impressive & convincing. Even though Abdullah made an appearance for a very few scenes, Humayun Ashraf’s performance was brilliant. He has surely made Abdullah’s character quite convincing. I will also add that I liked the acting of the girl playing the character of Nighat as well, her dialogue delivery seems very natural & realistic, so hats off. & last, but definitely not the least; Imran Abbas, like always was the star of this episode too but can someone please tell him not to wear Black Shalwar Kameez & not to drape a Black Shawl over it because he looks graceful & so very schmickkkkkk, Masha Allah! :) Please share your thoughts about this beautifulllll episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat!

Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 09 Review – The Journey of Self-Discovery Begins!

Ohkay so, let me get straight to the point, I am in love. I am in love with this drama. I am so glad after Thursdays I now have a drama worth setting an alarm for at the weekend to watch, enjoy, experience & review. The team of Khuda Aur Mohabbat Season 02 has completely made me forget about the Season 01 because they are showing the story in such a detailed manner that each & every character, their thought process, their stance, everything is coming across with absolute clarity, which is amazing! The drama-makers have succeeded in making the viewers feel the pain that the characters are going through, which is actually a must in a love-story especially. Thank you so much Team Khuda Aur Mohabbat for giving us an absolute treat on the weekend, it is worth every single second of my time.

‘Mazhab us waqt tak ki rukawat lagta hai, jab tak insaan us se duur rehta hai’, so, the traveler who met Hammad for the first & probably the last time in his life got him introduced to the concept of religion. He opened a window for Hammad into a domain which Hammad thought wasn’t meant for him & with this, the journey of Hammad’s self-discovery & reflection began. It was only because of that man, that Hammad mustered up the courage to step a foot inside Masjid, without having any know-how up his sleeve, because that man told him that no matter how flawed you think you are, what matters the most is your intention. Somehow Hammad got fascinated by the honesty & truthfulness with which he got to know that the religion, which everyone around him makes it look so rigid & hard to follow was anything but that. Even though Hammad had a point to prove to Molvi Aleemuddin but he didn’t put all of his efforts into pleasing him to score a win in front of Imaan’s father & in fact he put his heart & soul into it because he wanted to get familiar with the idea of religion & how it will change his life. Hammad’s intention was pure, just like his love for Imaan is, that is why he chose to walk on the path that he has never walked on before & that too with so much of devotion that he ended up making Molvi Aleemuddin anxious.

I loved loved loved how they began Hammad’s journey on the right path & how they showed his transition from someone who didn’t even know the basics as he was never taught about all of that throughout his life, into someone who was now putting all his energies into perfecting himself in every aspect related to the religion. What I loved the most about Hammad’s journey was the it was Abdullah who unwillingly was getting to monitor Hammad & was getting familiar with Hammad as a person. Even though Molvi Aleemuddin pushed Hammad away from himself by telling Abdullah to take care of Hammad’s concerns, he didn’t know that by doing this, Molvi Aleemuddin himself was giving Abdullah a chance to become Hammad’s supporter as the more he was getting to interact with Hammad, the more he was growing sympathetic towards him. It was actually quite beautiful to see that Hammad not even for a second tried to think that by doing all of this, that too in front of Molvi Aleemuddin, he will be able to move or impress him. Yes, Hammad did choose Molvi Aleemuddin & Abdullah as his teachers, but that was only to prove a point that when he decided he had nothing to do with his family, it also included getting rid of all the habits that might remind Molvi Aleemuddin of the fact that Hammad belonged to Amjad Raza’s family!

Honestly speaking, in the first season, I never once got to know whether Imaan fell in love with Hammad or not but I am so glad, the clarity with which they showed everything in this season made it a bit too obvious that Imaan felt a little something in her heart for Hammad. The scene at the railway station, where Hammad was carrying Imaan’s luggage was absolutely beautiful yet overwhelming. To see a man suffer to such an extent of punishing himself is definitely something huge & that is the reason why Imaan became restless & she couldn’t keep her eyes off Hammad as she was trying to grasp the fact that Hammad was so in love with her that he left everything for her & was now doing something that he isn’t supposed to do. Even though Abdullah might not want to admit, but even he can not ignore the fact that Hammad’s love for Imaan is pure, that is why throughout this episode, it was evident that Abdullah was feeling bad for Hammad because even he couldn’t make himself understand that a guy like Hammad, who had everything in his life could go to such an extent for the sake of his love. Then came the interaction of Hammad & Imaan, no words, just pure feelings being conveyed through eyes & some tears, absolutely beautiful, magical & the best scene of the episode for me. That was the moment when Imaan also realized the purity & level of Hammad’s love for her, that is why she was touched & moved. Simply beautiful!

I love the fact that Hammad’s aura & persona is just so attractive that anyone who gets to interact with him can’t go without forming a connection with him, that is the reason we see Ghafoor, Siddique & Kheru, everyone supporting Hammad wholeheartedly. For the first time, Ghafoor got to know the reason why Hammad was punishing himself like this, but being someone who has experienced the pain that love causes you, Ghafoor could totally understand what Hammad was going through & why he was putting himself through all of this. It is actually quite nice to see that Hammad now has few well-wishers who root for him & support him.

To be honest, I never developed a feeling of detest for Molvi Aleemuddin in the 1st season because I felt he was just a very humble & modest person who couldn’t bring himself to put up with the pressures of the society but in this season, I am not really a fan of Molvi Aleemuddin because his personality has been elaborated clearly & the viewers have gotten an insight of his thought process which reeks of ego & wrong blend of culture & religion as per his convenience. The note at which the episode ended was a decisive point for me & it sealed the deal that Molvi Aleemuddin, he might be really nice in all other aspects, but he was someone who would mix culture with the religion to find an escape for himself from awkward situations. Everything that Molvi Aleemuddin said to guy who posed the question about opting for love marriage went to show that he was just trying to prove his point to Hammad that no matter what happens, he can not get married to Imaan because he loves her. It is absolutely sad that despite seeing the dedication & honesty of Hammad, Molvi Aleemuddin is letting his ego get the better of him because he can not bring himself to admit that a young lad, who might not even have as much knowledge about religion as he does, is challenging his beliefs & is actually right in his own accord. Hammad has done enough to prove his love for Imaan & more than that, the purity of his intentions but Molvi Aleemuddin can not look past Hammad’s family background & he is a little shallow to be unable to forgive Hammad’s family for what they did & forget everything that happened in the past. It is sad that Molvi Aleemuddin is still being so judgmental when it comes to Hammad that he is unable to see how good of a human being Hammad is!

Overall, this episode was absolutely beautiful. I love the way the director has directed these past couple of episodes, where he shows on scenario but runs the story in the flashbacks, it makes everything seem quite engaging & the continuity seems perfect too. I actually really liked Humayun Ashraf’s performance in this episode, he surely has given Abdullah’s character a perfect treatment. Sadia Khan may not have many dialogues to deliver but she makes her presence felt in such limited scenes too. Firdous Jamal has acted brilliantly as Molvi Aleemuddin & he has maintained a thin line of not making his character seem totally negative. Now coming to the star of the episode & the star of the show & for me, that is Imran Abbas, oh well, I am sure no other actor would’ve played Hammad’s character the way Imran Abbas has & no other actor could’ve done justice to such a beautiful character. I’m certain of the fact that if it wasn’t for Imran Abbas, we would’ve never felt the emotions that Hammad goes through & the pain that he suffers, there is such honesty in Imran Abbas’s performance that just keeps your eyes glued to the screen & your mind searching for more. Hats off, that’s all that I can say! Thank you so much Team Khuda Aur Mohabbat & most importantly, Thank You So Much Imran Abbas! Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 08 – Brilliant Brilliant Brilliant Episode!

Ohkay so, this episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat was absolutely amazing. I am in love with this drama & honestly speaking, with each passing episode, I am getting more & more convinced that this season is definitely bigger & better than the season 01. Quite honestly, when this season began, I finished watching the 1st season may be 2 days ago, that is why initially, like all those viewers who were a fan of the previous season, I was also a bit skeptical & wasn’t feeling this season, but now I’m totally convinced because there are such small little details that tell me that the director of this season had more understanding & more grip on the story & I thank him for directing Khuda Aur Mohabbat so beautifully. It has also become one of my favorite dramas of the season & I am really happy that I am getting to watch a drama like this!

This episode showed us Hammad’s sufferings & his journey in a detailed manner. Hammad chose not to budge & he chose to put forth his stand in front of his family, that is why he is going through so much only to prove a point not only to anyone else, but to himself. Everything that Hammad is doing is like he is punishing himself for the life he was given in a platter. Hammad is furious, disappointed & depressed because he knows that no matter what he is going to do, his father’s name is always going to stay associated with him. It was quite touching to see how hard Hammad was trying to pick up the pieces while still wanting to stay shattered because he has given up on everything except his love for Imaan!

Honestly speaking, till the very last episode of the previous season, I couldn’t bring myself to understand or feel that Molvi Aleemuddin was equally responsible for everything that Hammad & Imaan went through, because somehow I feel his ego was downplayed by the director as he didn’t want to put a cleric in a negative light, but this is something that didn’t happen in this season. What I liked about the director’s approach in this season is, that without showing Molvi Aleemuddin as a negative character, very convincingly yet subtly he brought out the ego that resided in Molvi Aleemuddin’s heart too. Everything that Hammad said to Molvi Aleemuddin was spot on because yes, while Hammad was still fighting the ego of Amjad Raza, he got to know that there was another obstacle that was standing in his way & it was the ego of Molvi Aleemuddin too. It was actually quite interesting to see how the director brought Amjad Raza & Molvi Aleemuddin on the same pedestal, just because of their egos. Amjad Raza & Aleemuddin might be very different from each other in every single aspect, but they both are similar in one thing & that is their ego. While Amjad Raza judges people on the basis of what they have earned in life, Molvi Aleemuddin judges people on the basis of how much they pray. Where Amjad Raza judges people on the basis of how much material they have, Molvi Aleemuddin judges people on the basis of how much understanding they have when it comes to religion.

Hammad thought that he had spent enough time in forming an identity of his own, that is why he chose to approach Molvi Aleemuddin, to apologize to him for everything that his family put him through & to also plead his love for Imaan in front of him but he got to know that Molvi Aleemuddin chose to shut the doors of his home on Hammad because he was a bit too worried about what the people around him will say. Hammad got to know about all the objections Molvi Aleemuddin had about his family but he didn’t have even a single objection personally related to Hammad. It was actually quite heart-breaking to see Hammad feeling devastated after finding out that even after running away from his family & their shadows, he was still being judged on the basis of the family background he had, on the basis of the life he has lived in the past & on the basis of what his family used to do.

It was good to see that Abdullah chose to give Hammad a chance to meet Molvi Aleemuddin, it was like literally he had to curb his feelings for Imaan aside, while still being fearful of the fact that may be Molvi Aleemuddin will accept Hammad’s apology & he might agree to his & Imaan’s marriage, but Abdullah gave Hammad a chance & allowed him to say what he wanted to. Even though Abdullah has remained in the background, but his character is quite impactful even after getting such a limited coverage, which is amazing!

I just love Hammad’s interactions with Shakir & his family. It is actually quite good to see that there are a few people who love Hammad for who he is & not because of who he was. Shakir actually felt bad for Hammad & so did Nighat, that is why Nighat chose to tell Imaan sternly about all the sufferings that Hammad was going through just because he fell in love with her. Hammad sent the token of Imaan’s remembrance to her back, in a hope that may be one day, after realizing the purity of his love & intentions, she herself will hand it over to him. I really liked the interactions of Hammad & Ghafoor too, it is actually quite beautiful that Hammad’s personality has so much of attraction & his persona has so much of honesty & niceness that anyone who interacts with him forms an emotional connection & develops an emotional attachment with him. Ghafoor actually feels bad for Hammad as he knows that he doesn’t belong here & he knows that he is only trying to punish himself for something he is not even responsible for, that is why he always treats Hammad with kindness & does some gestures for him as he knows that Hammad is suffering emotionally.

It was actually quite good to see that the life-changing conversation was made a part of this episode. Hammad came across a passenger who made him familiar with the idea of praying, who was the first person to have a heart-to-heart conversation with him about how important it was to introduce the act of Worship in your life. What was even more special about that conversation was that the passenger started off by discussing his own weaknesses & that was something that touched Hammad because he didn’t come across as someone who said he didn’t make mistakes or wasn’t weak or had faults. What a beautiful way of attracting someone to something even more beautiful, without coming across as complacent & perfect!

Overall, this episode was beautiful, it was so engaging that I even didn’t realize where the time had gone when the episode ended. I am so happy with the pace of the drama, it’s like they are still showing us what we have seen before, in a lot of detail while still being cautious of not making it too detailed for the viewers to feel bored. The chemistry & the connection between all the characters have been established & portrayed perfectly by all the actors. I guess there is not even a single actor who hasn’t done justice to the role that was assigned to them. I love the coverage all the good characters are getting, everything is just brilliant about Khuda Aur Mohabbat. It was a treat to see Rambo, Humayun Ashraf & Firdous Jamal in this episode. Also the actor playing the character of Shakir is doing such a brilliant job, he always brings so much of warmth in his scenes, which is just so beautiful. Sadia Khan has played her part really well & now coming to the hero of the drama, Imran Abbas, my my, what a beautiful portrayal of Hammad’s character. Imran Abbas has once again given Hammad’s character his heart & soul & it is so evident. It is definitely Imran Abbas who is taking the level of this drama a couple of notches higher with his phenomenal acting, so thank you Imran Abbas. I can’t wait to see the next episode already. Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 07 Review – The Consequences!

Ohkay so, this episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat has to be the best episode so far because it was not only well paced, but it was gripping & so captivating that for a viewer like me who knows the story, even I was hooked to it. I must commend the director for adding in all those details that were needed by the viewers to connect to the characters while still maintaining the pace of the drama, otherwise when this season began, I dreaded that all the events that were covered in this episode, might be covered in 3 or more episodes but I am really glad to see the pace of the drama is just so perfect!!!

So, Hammad finally had to face the consequences for going against his family’s wishes. Hammad told his family clearly that they need to propose Imaan on his behalf in front of Molvi Aleemuddin but little did he know, that his family would do things beyond his imagination. If Hammad would’ve had an idea that his family would worsen the matters, he would’ve never relied on them. Hammad actually assumed that his family would sit quietly after saying a thing or two to him but what they did was something that Hammad neither imagined nor expected. Amjad Raza & all the members of his family told Hammad how they were not thrilled with what he wanted but to prove a point further, they insulted Molvi Aleemuddin by conveniently blaming him & Imaan for trapping Hammad.

Molvi Aleemuddin has always lead a life based on the high morals & values, so for a man like him who has always kept his family under the shadows, to hear such demeaning things about his daughter Imaan was overbearing. Molvi Aleemuddin is emotionally attached to Imaan more than he is to anyone, so to hear Imaan’s name getting dragged & being spoken about in such a manner was something that he just couldn’t accept & tolerate. Hammad had no idea that it was not only him who’d have to bear the consequences but it was Molvi Aleemuddin & his family too who’d go through so much of pain, without being responsible for anything & without even knowing what their fault was. All this was just so hard for Hammad to accept that he ended up going to Shakir to seek help from him because he knew that Shakir was the only one who won’t turn a blind eye from him in an hour of need.

Then came the confrontation between Hammad & his family. Hammad was reminded quite clearly that he had no right to choose his life partner. His family made it clear to him that he wasn’t entitled to take such an important decision of his life because it had to be in accordance with their standards but Hammad took the opportunity to burst their bubble & he told them clearly that he was not going to budge. Amjad Raza being someone who has always played with numbers & who has always judged people on the basis of their social standing reminded Hammad of what he was worth without the tag of being Amjad Raza’s son, to which Hammad’s response shook everyone as none of them expected that Hammad would go to such an extreme where he would be ready to leave everything behind!

Hammad left his father’s place & his entire family to step into the practical world where he only had his love for Imaan with him. After walking miles while engrossed in his thoughts, he was reminded of Kamran’s uncle Siddique who worked in Railways & Hammad knew that he’d be the only one who could help him earn something with which he’d be able to support himself at least. Hammad has nothing left in his life, he has left everything behind, right now he might not even have a plan about what he wants to do in his life, but there’s only one thing that remains constant & that is his love for Imaan!

This episode was beautiful in so many different ways. The reaction of Hammad, his nerve to take a stand for what he thinks is right, the purity of his intention & the purity of his love for Imaan, each & everything was conveyed beautifully. I loved loved loved how the director kept on adding different shots & merged it into different scenes, it just added more depth to the situation that was being conveyed. Also, the scene where Abdullah while talking to Molvi Aleemuddin was thinking about Imaan was done really nicely. Abdullah also loves Imaan but he can not bring himself to say it. I think this season is a lot more visually appeasing & is a lot more gripping because of the way it has been directed, it shows how little changes can make such a huge difference. I liked the addition of new characters too & I can’t wait to see how they will add more flavor to the drama. Imran Abbas surely elevated the level of this episode with his phenomenal acting & so did every other actor. Can’t wait to see the next episode already. Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 06 Review – The Confession!

Ohkay so, this episode of Khuda aur Mohabbat was as always amazing. I truly appreciate how even though the pace of the drama is pretty decent, the director has put in some extra effort to give considerable amount of time to the aspects that need utmost attention like Hammad & his growing feelings for Imaan, without making the episode’s pace seem slow.

The day finally arrived when Hammad was going to get a chance to confess his feelings to Imaan but before that could happen, Hammad came across a lot such barriers which let him know that this journey won’t be easy & seamless. Hammad refused to get committed to Narmeen because he felt they both were two different people. Hammad has his reason & being a mature & independent guy, he was right in feeling that he was entitled to at least choose a life partner for himself. Hammad’s mother’s reminder to him about Abrina & Narmeen’s father being a share holder in Amjad’s business put Hammad off big time because for Hammad, none of these things mattered at all, not in the past, not in the present & won’t matter to him even in the future too. Hammad in fact loathed the idea of his marriage being nothing more than a business deal for Amjad Raza but no one in his family understood because they all are so used to such relationships which are formed on the basis of monetary benefits!

Anyways, Haya succeeded in making a way for Imaan to go to the Haveli so that Hammad could say what he wanted to. Molvi Aleemuddin had to agree because he knows that Nighat is the only friend his daughters have, but then again, his permission came with a lot of ifs & buts. Anyways, Hammad literally went to fulfill his dream of confessing his love to Imaan, without even caring about what his family expected from him because they were in a rush to make an announcement about Narmeen & Hammad’s engagement.

Then came the moment where Hammad got a chance to pour his heart out to Imaan, only to tell her how much he wanted to be with her & how he wanted to make her a part of his life. Hammad’s confession was heartfelt & absolutely genuine because you could feel the pain he was going through by seeing Imaan all confused, scared but also the pain of knowing that he might not get a chance to see Imaan again, so he had to put this opportunity to good use. It was actually good that Hammad got enough time to tell Imaan how pure his feelings & intentions were. Also, unknowingly Imaan left a token of remembrance for Hammad & the way Hammad cherished it was just so sweet. It was absolutely beautiful how Hammad felt at ease after confessing his love to Imaan, he now knew what he wanted in his life & how hard he’d have to work for it.

Imaan most certainly didn’t take everything lightly because she felt disgusted with the thought of being betrayed by her sister & her best friend. Nighat got a chance to explain herself but then again, she had to give Imaan a chance to speak up because Nighat knew what she did was wrong on so many levels & this wasn’t something that Imaan would’ve tolerated in any case. I really like the friendship these three girls share, their friendship is just so pure & refreshing.

After his conversation with Nighat & after learning about the gravity of the situation that Imaan was dealing with Hammad had to break it to his parents especially his father that he was so not interested in Narmeen or the business deal that his father was looking forward to because Hammad was in love with Imaan & wanted to get married to her. It was good to see that at least Hammad’s younger brother Emaad supported him as he knew that his brother was not wrong in wanting to get married to Imaan as she was a very decent girl. The fact that everyone found it unacceptable was that Imaan was Molvi Aleemuddin’s daughter & they were no where near them in social status & standing. It was sad to see them putting Molvi Aleemuddin down & also judging him thinking that he send Imaan to trap Hammad. Things have become quite interesting & I am definitely looking forward to the upcoming episodes.

Overall, this episode was done really really well. Like I always say, I will say it again, I really like the detailing they have added in this season. I loveddd the usage of the OST in this episode too especially in the scenes after Hammad met Imaan. Imran Abbas is such a strong & flawless actor, he actually made me understand every single emotion that Hammad was feeling, before his confession & after his confession too. Massive props to the director for directing this drama beautifully. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat!

Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 05 Review – Simply Beautiful!

Ohkay so, this episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat was beautiful because it depicted the emotion of love & the state of being in love perfectly. It actually gives the viewers an immense pleasure to be experiencing such a beautiful journey of love & what makes it even better is the character of Hammad!

I am so glad that Hammad is getting all the coverage & he is literally running the show now. Hammad is different from his family & not only different, he is better than his family members too because he treats everyone equally, doesn’t judge people on the basis of how much material they have gathered in their lives. Hammad just is a very simple minded person who deems every other person worthy of respect & love & this is what makes him wrong in front of his family because they can not come to his level & understand his mentality as they are so self-absorbed & conceited!

Hammad finally got to see Imaan up close & he couldn’t understand what took him over that he couldn’t take his eyes off her. Hammad was already in love with Imaan but this little interaction sealed the deal, it made him yearn for her even more. Even though that interaction lasted for a few seconds, Hammad then couldn’t gather his thoughts because he was madly in love with her. The beauty of this entire scenario is the fact that Hammad wants to give this relationship a meaning, he wants to give his feelings for Imaan a name, he is absolutely convinced that she is the one he wants to spend the rest of his life with, that is why he can’t stop thinking about the ways of making it possible. Hammad got a chance to give Imaan, Abdullah & Haya a ride to their home on the way back from Nighat’s engagement ceremony & he couldn’t take his eyes off her, because he was unsure of when he will get such a chance again.

Just because Hammad’s restlessness got the better of him, he decided to bring Nighat on board as he knew that she was the only one who could help him. I will say that this entire episode was filled with quite a lot of amazing scenes & scenarios, but this one was my favorite as Hammad & Nighat actually looked like partners in crime who were trying to figure out a way of accomplishing their mission. There was actually something very sweet about the entire conversation that took place between Hammad & Nighat. When Nighat told Hammad that every single family around them has approached Imaan for the marriage, it reinforced the notion in Hammad’s mind that Imaan truly was very very special & he couldn’t wait to bring her into his life!

Where this episode introduced Hammad’s budding feelings for Imaan, it also shed a light on two major obstacles that Hammad will have to overcome in order to be with Imaan. First was his family, who couldn’t even stand the idea of Hammad spending too much time with Shakir, so how would they allow Hammad to fall in love with a girl like Imaan who doesn’t fit the bill of their idea of a perfect life partner for him. Another obstacle would be Molvi Aleemuddin, because for the first time it showed how rigid he could get, where he didn’t even fancy the idea of his daughters attending upcoming wedding functions of their best friend, just because they got a little late in coming back from the engagement ceremony. I loved the goofy smile that Hammad had on his face while looking at Molvi Aleemuddin, because it showed that he must be looking at him with a reference to Imaan, thinking that he will soon enough become his father in law, it was actually quite cute. Another sweetest interaction that happened was between Hammad & Shakir, where Shakir was concerned that Nighat might have demanded something from Hammad, which he most certainly shouldn’t fulfill. It is actually quite appeasing to see that despite knowing the lengths Hammad can go to for his family, Shakir doesn’t even think of taking advantage of it, it is something very sweet!

So, Hammad got the news that Nighat succeeded in arranging Hammad’s meeting with Imaan, which I am actually looking forward to. This episode was amazing to watch & what I am liking the most about this season is that everything is in detail, which makes it easier for the viewers to connect with the characters & understand them even more. Imran Abbas has made Hammad a little more special with his perfect portrayal, I have always felt that if there is one actor who can convey the emotion of love to the T, it is Imran Abbas. Sadia Khan has improved a lot & she is making Imaan’s character even more beautiful. I must say the supporting actors have done a brilliant job too & they all seemed to have owned their characters as well. Even though in the previous episodes, I wasn’t feeling the character of Nighat because of the actress who is playing it in this season, however this episode completely changed my opinion about her & I feel she is doing a perfect job as Nighat. Also, I really like how in such a limited screen time, the director has shown how Abdullah makes the most of the situation by helping Imaan every chance he gets, it’s like he actually enjoys doing things for Imaan without her having any idea about it, which is actually quite sweet too. The direction of this drama is beautiful & even though I do have an issue with the lyrics of the OST, I loved how it was used throughout this episode, that too at the right time because it just added more charm to the situations that were being covered. Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 04 Review – & Hammad Is In Love!

Ohkay so, this episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat portrayed the feelings of all the characters beautifully. What I am loving the most about this drama is the way how they have elaborated all sorts of emotions through different situations & it is because of those emotions that we are able to understand the characters better with each passing episode. The thing I like the most about Khuda Aur Mohabbat is that it is a feel good drama & by the end of every single episode, you are left with a positive feeling about the entire journey, which is a bonus!

So, this episode showcased everything that Hammad felt about Imaan. To put it in simple words, Hammad only saw Imaan’s shadow & that was enough for him to forgive the rest of the world & get engulfed in her thoughts. Hammad experienced something that he had never experienced before & that is the reason he felt that his heart was telling him something that he shouldn’t ignore. Even though Hammad didn’t even get a chance to see Imaan, but just the glimpse of her forced Hammad to do some thinking & it was only because of her, that Hammad started growing out of all the things that connected him to the rest of the world. It was good that Hammad had his best friend Kamran to confide in but even Kamran couldn’t relate to what Hammad said because even for Kamran, it was hard to digest the fact that a casanova like Hammad would fall for a girl whom he hadn’t actually seen!

Hammad decided to accompany Sunny to Molvi Aleemuddin’s place because for him, the thought that Imaan was near him was enough to feel some sort of connection with her but Hammad never imagined that he would not only get to visit Imaan’s place but will get to see her for the first time too. It was actually quite sweet how Hammad cherished every single moment he spent in Imaan’s house because he could feel Imaan’s presence everywhere. I think it was something absolutely beautiful & then came the best moment of the episode when Hammad got to see Imaan for the first time, he now knew who was it that made him forget everything around him & how beautiful she is.

Shakir accepted the proposal for Nighat & decided to hold a Nikkah ceremony. The entire scene where Shakir tried to invite Amjad Raza to Nighat’s Nikkah was done so well & it made me feel for him so much. Shakir wanted Amjad to share the most memorable moment of Shakir’s life with him but for Amjad, Shakir was just an employee & helping him with a few bucks was all he could do. On the other hand, Hammad accepted his invitation because he valued his relationship with Nighat & more importantly Shakir too. This is what sets Hammad apart from the rest of his family that he not only treats everyone with respect but also with equality too.

Once again, at Nighat’s place, Hammad came across Imaan & this was the first time he faced her. As much as Hammad was confused about his feelings, he was getting more & more chances to fall in love with her. It wasn’t her beauty that Hammad fell for because the way he explained his feelings about Imaan in front of Kamran was enough to tell how pure his intentions were & how high regard he had for Imaan.

Overall, this episode was a great watch. Imran Abbas surely is carrying the drama on his shoulders. Sadia Khan has improved a lot & I wish to see Imaan’s character getting a little more coverage. The rest of the cast has done a wonderful job, I especially enjoy watching the scenes between Shakir & Hammad, there is so much of respect with which they both treat each other & I find it absolutely heart-warming. The direction of the drama is surely great & so is the pace. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat.

Khuda Aur Mohabbat Episode 03 Review – Well Paced!

Ohkay so, this episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat was pretty decent. I like the fact that even though they are showing everything in detail, they are still moving things forward at a decent pace. The acting of all the actors is making this drama worthwhile & also, I think a little cheat is that those who know the story beforehand are also interested in this drama knowing how good things are going to get in the future. :)

Sunny has developed a very strong bond with Molvi Aleemuddin, that is why, he wanted Molvi Aleemuddin to attend the ceremony which was being conducted in an honor of him completing the 1st Juz’/Part of the Holy Qur’an. Sunny’s father Sajjad allowed him to personally meet Molvi Aleemuddin because he knew that Sunny wouldn’t accept a no for an answer & he eagerly wanted Aleemuddin to be there. Sunny along with Shakir tried to persuade Molvi Aleemuddin but he chose to send his daughters in stead & that was only because he didn’t want to break Sunny’s heart as he knew that Sunny genuinely wanted someone from his family to attend the ceremony.

Imaan & Haya got a glimpse of Sunny’s world & despite having so many distractions around, they both chose not to miss their obligatory prayers. Hammad for the first time got to see such a girl who actually struck a chord & moved him emotionally. The very first glimpse was enough for Hammad to know that may be she was the girl he was waiting all his life & what later sealed the deal was the moment when he got to see her offering prayers. The way Hammad actually felt connected to her by seeing her in a most purest form was conveyed beautifully. Hammad couldn’t understand, he just couldn’t put a finger on what was it about Imaan that engulfed him in her thoughts & for the first time in life, he felt something he hadn’t felt before. Hammad knew what he felt for Imaan wasn’t something to be ignored, that is why he chose to contact his best friend to explain everything to him & as usual, his friend ended up teasing him because who would’ve thought that a guy who was making fun of love was now thinking on those lines about someone he just saw for the first time. The way Hammad spoke about Imaan went to show that may be she was the girl he had imagined & idealized in his mind & seeing her in veil also attracted him towards her because he wanted to know more about her as she didn’t give him enough to form an opinion about her. What I loved about the entire scenario was that Hammad’s intentions were pure too!

Hammad continued with his routine but Imaan left such a strong impression that at the back of his mind he couldn’t stop thinking about her & her family. That is why he grew a little curious about the reason why Molvi Aleemuddin wasn’t coming to their house anymore. I like the fact that in the middle of such practical people, Hammad is the only one who not only stays connected with those who’re around him, but takes care of them too. This trait of Hammad is one such reason why he shares such a good bonding with Shakir & his family.

Molvi Aleemuddin & Abdullah continued with their lives which they have dedicated to one cause & that is spreading a message of Islam & also, taking care of the Masjid that Aleemuddin is in-charge of. With Abdullah being around, Aleemuddin has found a support & that is why he appreciates everything that Abdullah does. It is actually quite nice to see that even though Abdullah himself is a very good human being, he finds joy in doing everything for Imaan’s family because of his feelings for her.

The preview of the next episode suggested that Hammad’s life is about to change because he will come across Imaan repeatedly & most certainly he won’t be able to take her out of his head & heart. Also, another set of problems await for Hammad because his family especially his sister in law Abrina will try to get him hitched with her sister Narmeen & Hammad would refuse to do so. Anyways, I enjoyed watching this episode but just like all those viewers who have watched the first season, I am curious to skip to the part where that season ended to see what happens afterwards. I must say, all the actors have done a brilliant job & so has the director. I am glad that Imran Abbas/Hammad is now getting more & more coverage with each passing episode & I can’t wait to see his journey. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Khuda Aur Mohabbat.

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

PS: Since this issue has been popping up time & again & I have been getting questions about the same thing repeatedly, I think putting a disclaimer about it is necessary. I have been getting quite a lot of questions where the viewers are still confused about what they are showing in this season & also about why the cast of the 1st season has changed etc, so I’d like to let you guys know that since this story is based on a novel, they ended Season 01 in the middle of the novel & didn’t dramatize the remaining part. So, now they have come up with Season 02 in which they are going to cover the entire story of the novel from beginning to end, that is why we are getting to see, what you may call, a remake of Season 01 & when this time around, they will reach the point where the Season 01 ended, they will continue the story till the end, which actually will mark the beginning of Season 02. I hope it clears the confusion. However, I also believe that the team of Khuda Aur Mohabbat shouldn’t have used the word ‘Season 02’ to promote it because a lot of people were expecting the story to begin from the point where Season 01 ended, which usually is the case when a story is divided in the seasons & that I feel is the reason behind this confusion, but I hope it’s clear now as I am kind of getting tired of explaining the same thing again & again & again. Thank you! :)
