In 2024, Neo HUM Bridal Couture Week is being held in Lahore from December 20 to December 22. Women’s day is observed every year on the 8th of March.  The main reason for the day is to celebrate women as the strength of society. All the professional women and housewives are praised and embraced on this day.

For the last few years, Aurat March is also organized on this day. A certain group of society takes part in it. Their opinion is quite clear and it is all about women empowerment and liberty.

However, there is another mindset prevailing in society that thinks that the whole idea of women empowerment is being overshadowed by the marches and movements. They think that real empowerment is educated and serving ladies in homes and professional lives, those women include mothers, sisters, wives, daughters, doctors, engineers, teachers, pilots, athletes, and scientists.

This year, in the Aurat march another viewpoint was observed, the youth also chanted the banners for homosexuality.

Well, without a doubt in our society there are two contradictory viewpoints regarding marches and movements but surely both mindsets believe in the real essence of women empowerment which means women are no less than men and can do anything.

These days Pakistani cinema needed good content to keep the ball rolling, Zee Kay Film’s Talash came out as a survivor. The film aims to take the industry to a new level. 

The film had its red carpet and premiere in Karachi’s leading multiplex. Many celebrities were spotted attending the event. Everyone looked excited about the film. 

The film is about three lead characters- Ahmed Zeb, Noaman Sami, and Fariya Hassan. played the role of doctors who were sent to the interior Sindh to set up a medical camp. Malnutrition is the core subject of the film and it aims to create awareness among the viewers.

The matter of screening Indian films was subdued before high court for more than one month. During this course, government also banned Indian films for about two weeks before lifting the ban. In recent developments, Sindh high court has dismissed all twelve petitions which were filed by multiple parties/persons including Altaf Hussain, Altaf Qamar, Younas Malik, Aslam Daar, Hassan Askari, Iqbal Kashmiri.

In its short decision, Justice Mansoor Ali Shah has rejected all the filed petitions. This decision has been welcomed by distributors and cinema owners, who consider Indian films a backbone for the promotion of cinema culture in Pakistan.
