Web series are all the rage these days and all over the world, the medium is becoming more and more successful. People find it convenient and enjoy it easily. Wajaht Rauf is making a web series and it has a very interesting cast. It was announced previously that none other than Mehwish Hayat will be playing the lead role and Asad Siddiqui is also an important part of the series.

Wajaht Rauf has made feature films before this like Karachi Se Lahore, Lahore Se Aagay and has already announced the third instalment Karachi Se Lahore 3. This web series will be his first ever though. Azfar Rehman is the new addition to the web series and he will be playing a very special character.

Mehwish is totally gotten into the role and people will be able to watch the web series very soon. She was previously seen in feature film Load Wedding which released on Eid ul Adha.

Zahid Ahmed revealed his honest and quirky side when he was invited as a guest to Sanam Jung’s morning show Jago Pakistan Jago. Zahid Ahmed talked about his family in the show and also about his personal likes and dislikes. Sanam Jung has also revamped her show. She has a brand new set and it looks like she also has changed the format of her show. She was not doing too many interviews before but now she is more interested in knowing more about her guests.

Also, Sanam Jung asked him those tough questions which most celebrities would probably just dodge. Zahid Ahmed however answered these questions quickly and with great confidence. Sanam Jung asked him that who was that one actor who needed to wear less make-up. Zahid Ahmed did not take the name of a female celebrity as a reply but took the name of Imran Abbas.

Zahid said that Imran Abbas was his friend and a brother to him but he honestly needed to wear less make-up. Sanam Jung’s reply to this was diplomatic. Aamina Sheikh is the queen of modeling world without any doubt. She has also established herself as an outstanding actor and has a massive fan following. It is also a fact that she does not fit into the usual stereotypes of beauty in our country. For the first time Aamina talked about how she was mocked and criticized for having a big forehead in school and sometimes later on in the career life too.

It’s a fact that everyone wants to look beautiful. Well, if not beautiful atleast good. But in showbiz apart from being talented the modern times require you to look presentable to some extent.

This pressure of looking presentable sometimes make people take some serious measures. Be it men or women, everyone seems to get something done to look attractive. Some people have a good experience some don’t.

One such person to have had a gruesome experience is none other than our very own charming Sajid Hassan. His video went viral sometime ago where he stated how a friend insisted him to get a hair transplant & the experience turned out to be extremely unpleasant causing him to have severe head injuries.

While, everyone was worried about his health and some were even worried if he ever would be able to continue to act, Dr Fahad Mirza came along to rescue our legend. It was then everyone had a sigh of relief. Fahad Mirza, apart from being a dentist happens to be a plastic surgeon. It’s like he brought a magic wand and got everything right since he made sure that Sajid would be doing well soon. A couple of surgeries & he will be back to normal.

Well, seems like he was right. Dr Fahad Mirza recently shared a video where he is seen along with Sajid Hassan telling fans that the latter is doing well & has had a successful surgery. Zahid Ahmed is happily married and he has struggled hard to reach where he is today. He is very thankful to his wife for always supporting him. When Sanam Jung asked him to share with the female audience the three qualities which every wife should have, the answer was interesting.

He said that firstly a wife should willingly do what pleases her husband and she should not try to dictate to him. He said that when you marry someone you should do whatever it takes to make him happy.

Secondly, he shared that in his opinion a good wife is one who puts in the maximum effort in nurturing the children. He said that the husband are usually too busy earning for the family so it was a wife’s job to look after the children properly.

Zahid Ahmed also said that last but not the least, a woman should also do whatever she wants. Whatever she wants to be or do in life, she should do it because her happiness is also important. Sanam Jung also questioned as to why this point came in the end and why was the wife’s happiness the least important thing! This was more of a joke but a valid point too.

Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar had a great deal to say when he explained why Urwa Hocane was no longer her upcoming film Kaaf Kangana’s leading lady. He said she was unprofessional to the extreme and he never wants to work with her ever again. He also said that the only reason, he gave her the role was because she begged for it.

Urwa Hocane finally talked to Galaxy Lollywood and shared her own views. She said,

“He is a fatherly figure to me, I respect him a lot. Woh mujh say barhay hain aur woh mujhay dant saktay hain, yeh un ka haq hay. He was probably upset and angry, which is why he said what he said but I have absolutely nothing against him.”

Urwa’s reply was very cool and calm. She was very respectful towards Khalil-ur-Rehman and also shared,

“See, I have never worked with Khalil sahab as a director. He is a wonderful writer and wrote a beautiful character for me in Punjab Nahi Jaungi, but I haven’t really had a chance to actually work with him since the director was Nadeem Baig. When I met Khalil sahab to discuss his debut film as a director is when I realized that we are on different wavelengths and that we are not compatible as a director-actor do. It was a mutual decision to part ways, and we are both upset about the situation. He still calls me beta and there is no animosity between us. I wish him the best of luck with his project.”

Urwa contradicted Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar’s claim that he was the one who fired her from the job and said that this was a mutual decision.

Different things have gone viral on the Internet recently and some of them were the statements from our female celebrities. Sadaf Kanwal came on HSY’s show with Amna Ilyas. She made some insensitive comments on the movement there as she said that “Jabb Me Too Hua Tabb Bol Do”, people were not happy with it since it takes a lot for a lady to disclose something like that especially in a society that is not very accepting. Hira Mani came on Samina Peerzada’s show where she told people how she got together with her husband Mani. She said that she cheated on her then-fiance to be with Mani. And lastly, with the ongoing Ko Ko Korina fiasco, singer Momina Mustehsan decided to reply to HR Minister Shireen Mazari over her expression of dislike for the song. She quoted Uncle Ben from Spider-Man to make her argument strong in front of a federal minister.

With great courage, people have named the ones responsible and with that, the Me Too movement started trending. It reached wide and far and people came out with their stories and asked to stop the heinous crime.

Women in Pakistan have also talked about it and some high profile accusations also have come forward. Salman Saqib aka Mani posted a picture on his Instagram and ridiculed the woman who started the movement for her looks. Yes, I’m sure, by now you have guessed that I am talking about Daastan. A brilliant piece of work & a great novel by Razia butt executed beautifully into a memorable tv drama. It took us back to the 1940s. A treat to watch ineed but do you remember any period drama after that? Well, No. Because there has been none. It is not an easy job to make a period drama. It takes guts to invest in the genre. But here is the good news you already are familiar with that none other than Hum Tv is again bringing a magnum opus of sorts to your TV screens. Yes, I am talking about Aangan. Now that it is taking forever to launch, we thought to make your wait worth it. Let’s get into the details of the show.

 It is based on the famous novel of the same name written by Khadija Masroor. The screenplay has been penned by Mustafa Afridi of Sang e Mar Mar fame. It is to be directed by Udaari’s Mohammad Ehteshamuddin & will be produced by Momina Duraid. Well, there isn’t just one thing that makes it a much awaited show. Infact, there are lots. Its huge cast includes several senior actors to the superstars which include Sajal Aly, Ahad Raza Mir, Ahsan Khan, Sonya Hussayn, Mawara Hocane, Hira Mani. Now that is seriously going to be something. I wonder if any powerhouse of talent is left to be part of the show. Another USP of the drama is Ahad-Sajal’s much awaited reunion. Sajal is going to be paired opposite Ahad & there are many twists yet to be revealed as all of the principle characters play a significant role. Previously, the drama was to be telecast in October but as of now there are no details of it arriving anytime soon. And we totally understand as it is not an easy task to make an epic.Till then, we can do with the pictures being shared by the cast members which only make us more excited.

Ever since Ko Ko Korina’s rendition by Ahad Raza Mir and Momina Mustehsan has gone on air people have criticized it to the limit. Now that both the artists have shared their views about it and they have also requested the people to stop being so unkind with the criticism, more celebrities are coming forward to support them. Everyone obviously thought that this criticism will die down in a day or two but it seems to be getting worse with every passing day.

Nadia Hussain in a video message shared her thoughts about the issue and particularly about the way people were criticizing the song. Imran Abbas is an old soul and loves to work for humanity. While talking to Samina Peerzada during his latest interview, he told the audiences that it is something that makes him feel peaceful. Meera Jee is known for her unique point of views and demands. The actress has indulged in several legal battles in the past. Nida Yasir invited an eye specialist Dr. Harris Shehzad to her show and asked questions which were very helpful for those people who wear lenses. The expert at the show shared that there was nothing wrong with using lenses regularly. He said that lenses can be used for up to 10 hours daily provided that the people using the lenses take proper care that they are being used properly. He shared some tips which are easy to follow and can prevent eye infections and other problems.

Dr. Harris said that the best option was to use disposable lenses, the ones which can be used daily and discarded. If this was not possible then the person using the lenses should ensure that they are used for only as long as it is prescribed to use them. Over using the lenses after their due period is one of the main reasons people get eye infections. He also said that the minute a lens starts irritating, it should be changed whether or not the time period has passed.

He also shared an incident in which a female patient slept with her lenses on and as a result she got such a bad infection that she could completely lose her sight.

Laaleen Sukhera is not just another woman who went through the most tormenting marriage but she is someone who is quite accomplished yet she was abused by her husband and his family for 11 years. She is a British Pakistani writer, speaker and the founder of the Jane Austen Society of Pakistan. She was married into a affluent family which also owns a well-known school chain in Pakistan. Her marriage ended in a divorce and she took to social media to share all the problems she was facing with reference to the custody battle of her three daughters.

Sanam Baloch invited Laaleen to her show and she had a panel of lawyer and psychologists who listened to her story. They also attempted to figure out where the main problem lied and tried to educate girls through Laaleen’s story.

Laaleen shared that her husband abused her mentally, physically and even financially. Even after the divorce he creates problems for her and does not follow the court’s ruling.
