Farhat Ishtiaq is a very well known writer who has written many famous novels and is behind some very successful dramas that have aired on different channels. Hamsafar, Aunn Zara, Diyar-e-Dil, Rehaii, Bilquess Kaur, Mere Humdum Mere Dost and Mata-e-Jaan Hai Tu are some of her most popular dramas. Bin Roye , the film was also based on Farhat Ishtiaq’s famous novel. Most of her dramas have been based on novels which were already very popular among novel readers but this time Farhat Ishtiaq has a special treat in store for her fans. She has written an original script for her upcoming play Udaari which will be airing on HUM. Farhat Ishtiaq is known for handling her scripts in a very intelligent manner. Her dramas usually have a lot of tracks but she does justice to all of them.
The play has been directed by M. Ehtashamuddin who is a new director but he has already directed some good plays like Sadqay Tumhare and Preet Na Kariyo Koi from the platform of HUM. The cast includes names like Urwa Hocane, Farhan Saeed, Bushra Ansari, Samiya Mumtaz, Rehan Sheikh and Ahsan Khan. Farhat Ishtiaq made an announcement of this drama today. She also posted some pictures from the sets of the drama. The pictures show that the drama is shot in a rural setting. Bushra Ansari and all the other actors look different from the glamorous roles they play on television very often.
Daniyal Raheal is one of those actors who do very selected projects but he is also one of those people who make their mark whenever they are part of a drama. Some people may not know that Daniyal Raheal is the brother and son of celebrities. He is Mehreen Raheal’s brother and Seemi Raheal’s son. Although he was born in a family associated with the drama industry but he never really wanted to be an actor himself. Daniyal was recently seen in drama serial Dua and now viewers are enjoying watching him in Mana Ka Gharana.
Talking to MAG Weekly about how he took fame and being an actor he said,
“Initially I wanted to do something different from my family, I didn’t want to fall into the same line of work but by default it just happened. Fame is something different for me because I have grown up on sets, I have grown up with actors being approached by people, so I perceived fame very differently and it was just a by-product of the line of work my mother was in, so it didn’t entice me and even to this day, I’m very reserved publicly in how I project myself as an actor.”
Danial Raheal is the proud of the fact that he has played many different kinds of characters in dramas and he promises that viewers will see a lot more from him in the future too. He said,
“So far I have done a grey role in Dua, I have already done a really simple character in Silvatein, then I have one coming up in which I play a young, hip and cool character. Apart from this, you will also see me as a psychotic insane younger brother, where I’m setting my brother’s room on fire and stealing his wife.”
Just like all the other actors nowadays Daniyal is also tired of the kind of scripts which drama writers and production houses are relying on. Talking about that he said,
“Production houses are basing scripts on focused groups, households which are surveyed to check ratings and to find out what kind of dramas people like, which I think, is ridiculous as it curtails your creativity down to the 10 per cent of the people and because of that they end up making the same dramas again and again.”
He also talked about how this trend can be changed. He said,
“There are a handful of people who can write and they are the ones who are persistently writing, making the scripts somewhat conventional. If we get new people onboard, such as students from NCA, then I think there will be a massive change in the narrative.”
Daniya also said that the working hours for actors are crazy, there is no proper time for the shootings and sometimes they go on for long hours therefore he said,
“The thing is if you are spending so much time focusing on work, you don’t get much time to do certain things that are essential for you to be an actor, like rest, sleep and hit the gym. These things need to be managed by an actor and you have to fight for them when you shouldn’t have to.”
Daniyal Raheal biggest wish is to work in another film with the director Jami, who is very well known for his craft and creativity.
Fahad Mustafa is getting more popularity with his films and the game show which made him a household name. He even has a production house now which is turning out to be one of the biggest production houses in the country. Fahad Mustafa is also a family man who always takes time out to spend with his family no matter how busy he is with his work. His wife Sana Fahad has also written several scripts for some of the dramas made by his production house. Fahad Mustafa and his wife have a cute daughter whose pictures they keep on posting regularly.
Fahad Mustafa informed his fans today that he was blessed with a baby boy. This new addition to the family came when Fahad Mustafa was busy shooting his new commercial. We wish the happy family all the best.
Fahad Mustafa hasn’t posted the picture of the baby yet but here are some pictures of Fahad Mustafa with his wife and cute daughter.
Ohkay so, I must say this episode of Mana Ka Gharana was a lot better than the previous episode may be because Mana’s desperation wasn’t showcased & she didn’t get much screen-time. It was all about Khizer this time & it was good to see most of the family members standing by his side in his support.
Khizer went to mend ways with Shehryaar because he promised he will do everything to bring him back to Mana. As always, Shehryaar didn’t even allow Khizer to enter his home & mistreated him. Shehryaar has genuinely started liking Mana but Gul Bahar is trying to ruin his relation that too in the initial stages because she can’t see anyone happy. She has a bigger picture in mind as she wants to pressurize Maalik that is why she doesn’t want Shehryaar to get swayed too much in his affection for Mana to forget that he has a upper-hand & he should always keep an upper-hand in the matters concerning Mana’s family.
Shehryaar forgave Khizer just so that he can get back to Mana because he was genuinely concerned about her & he stretched it because Gul Bahar was maligning his mind & heart against Mana & her whole family. Khizer made back to his home & was in a very bad condition, which concerned Maalik, Zarri, Ghalib & Mana as well.
I must say as the episodes are passing by, my hatred for Saleha is multiplying. I am sure there will come a time when she will realize her mistakes & she might as well apologize to Khizer but the things she is saying are hard to forget. The way she treated Happy & shooed him away showed what a shallow person she is. Now when the things were normal for her daughter, she could’ve easily ignored Happy & allowed him to show his gesture of concern for Khizer but she didn’t let that to happen & in fact put a restriction on him. I was surprised to see Ghalib’s reaction too. He was relieved that Mana was happy but the thought never crossed his mind that a guy with such a bad temperament will always cause distress to his daughter. Seeing the age & stature of Ghalib, I always expect him to say more & not just be like a clueless audience in the frame but he disappoints me every single time because he never gives a shut up call to Saleha despite knowing that she is only being unreasonable & irrational.
Saleha is harboring grudges against Khizer for no good reason. He apologized to Shehryaar for the mistake he never committed but still Saleha didn’t have a word of appreciation to say for Khizer & in fact when Maalik & Zarri told her about Khizer’s fever, she paid more attention to a good night’s sleep that she thought she deserved after the so-called predicament she faced in regards to Mana & Shehryaar. I really hope someone gives her a shut up call because it is getting burdensome to tolerate a negative side character that is getting way too much coverage & attention.
Gul Bahar is turning out to be quite mean & is transpiring a lot of problems for Shehryaar – way more than he understands. She is trying to fill his mind with unnecessary doubts regarding Mana & Khizer’s equation. Shehryaar needs to understand that they both are like friends because they have spent their childhood together, so it would be beneficial for him to ignore Gul Bahar because useless doubts will get him nowhere.
The preview of the next episode seemed interesting. Looks like Shehryaar hasn’t actually forgiven Khizer & now he will push his agenda of insulting Khizer even more. I really hope that all these tactics serve as an eye opener to the rest of the family & they get to know that Shehryaar isn’t the right choice for Mana. I also hope that Khizer stops being a good Samaritan & at least shares his feelings with Maalik so that when the time arises, Maalik can at least speak on behalf of Khizer that Shehryaar hasn’t treated him nicely. Overall, this drama is quite simple & the characters are quite one-dimensional too. The simplicity of the drama is refreshing to see & that’s what makes me look forward to the next episodes too. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Mana Ka Gharana.
Sajjal Ali is getting more fame and attention with every year. She is still very young but she is very talented so she has made a big place for herself in a very competitive industry. Sajjal Ali is an actress and a model. She has done modeling for many leading brands. Now Sajjal Ali is the latest brand ambassador for the famous brand Agha Noor. The brand Agha Noor is very popular among women. They design casual and formal clothes which women love buying mostly because unlike other designers Agha Noor’s prices are very affordable. Sajjal Ali is seen wearing their formal collection which consists mostly of light colors.
Game Shows are the latest trend on different channels. It is a good way to engage the public in the shows and to gain popularity. Different Game Shows show different kinds of games. People volunteer to play these games and those people who win, get prices. Pakistani public has proved before too that they can do anything for prizes but one video from a PTV game show has gone viral in which we see a girl from the audience volunteering to play a game which is cheap. The game show is hosted by Fiza Ali. It isn’t just the way the game is played which is objectionable but the way the camera covers it is also being criticized by the general public. People are questioning the logic behind devising such games. It is shameful that people are willing to do anything for getting prizes and the game show hosts also do not choose games for their shows that are decent and entertaining.
Here is the video of the game which is being criticized by everyone.
Things are getting more ugly with every passing episode. Beqasoor depicts a very sad and dark side of our society but it does not have anything new to offer. Watching Beqasoor is like reading a very tragic incident from someone’s real life in a newspaper. Something like this would give you goose bumps and will make you very sad but it can most certainly not be entertaining. I doubt that this drama is going to show any solutions for the problems which all the beqasoors in this drama face but we will only see things getting from bad to worse as a new episode airs every week.
I must say that at this point Shehryar’s character has to be the most well etched-out character in the play. Sajjid Hassan as usual has translated this character on screen flawlessly. He never fails to impress his viewers. This is the only character that has shown some shades of grey otherwise all the other characters are quite predicable. Shehryar tries his best to convince Hira to go home with him but Hira’s obsession with her step-father does not allow her to do that. It was definitely strange to see Hira doing so much on her own so soon because someone who has had a near death experience does not have the energy to run the way she was running when she saw Amin. Hira’s meeting with her mother in the jail just like always was spoiled by Saboor Ali’s overacting. I must say that I felt for Hira more when she could not deliver any dialogues because Saboor Ali’s dialogue delivery is beyond disappointing. She was probably asked by the director to do everything in her power to make people feel for her character but I for one have not been able to feel for her.
At this point there is very little hope for Sadaf since both Shehryar and Waseem couldn’t care less about her. There isn’t much that Hira can do for her and I doubt she will go to Babar for help. Waseem is gradually pushing everyone away from himself and now he is all alone. He only wants those people around him who will do things exactly the way he wants and he is incapable of loving anyone. Samina Peerzada is a remarkable actress but Sadaf’s character is disappointing me more with every passing episode. I feel for her and can see why someone in her position will make one mistake after the other out of desperation and because of being stressed out but I can’t help but blame her weak personality for a lot that has happened to her and her daughter. There might have been a time when she did not have a choice but to live with Waseem but that is most certainly not the case now. Hira and Sadaf both are too loyal for their own good – they are complete opposites of all the other characters in the play who do not believe in love or loyalty.
The most important development in tonight’s episode which might have huge repercussions for Sehr was her phupo moving in with her. Sehr trusts her phupo blindly but something tells me that phupo will do anything for money and she already seems to be fascinated by Shehryar. Except for Shehryar, all the other characters in the play are still black and white. Sehr, Phupo and Waseem are simply incapable of feeling anything for anyone, they are selfish to the core and they will only stay with someone as long as it suits them. They are also the kind of people who are not afraid of losing anyone. Sehr is scared of losing her comfortable life otherwise she could not care less about her husband either. We have already seen how conveniently Sehr’s phupo moved on after her divorce. Overall, Beqasoor as a whole has failed to impress. It banks heavily on rona dhona and majburis.
How many of you watched this latest episode of Beqasoor? Do share your thoughts about it.

The promos of the drama show that this is going to be an intense love story. Faysal Qureshi plays a role similar to the one he played in Bashar Momin. The role is not as larger than life as was Bashar Momin.
Ayeza Khan has been very happy juggling family life and her career. She has her priorities set straight. She made sure that she gave time to her new family after she got married but is back in showbiz now that her baby Hoorain is a few months old and she has bonded with her new family. Ayeza has always said that for her family comes before work. When she got married she was not worried that her career or fan following might suffer because of her decision to get married at a time when it was the peak of her career. The drama serial Pyare Afzal gave Ayeza Khan unmatched success and fame but she did not let that change her goals in life. Even when Ayeza and Danish got married, many people expected them to work together to get even more popularity but Ayeza disappeared from the television screen soon after her wedding.
Ayeza and Danish in many interviews made it clear that Danish never asked her to stay away from showbiz but it was her own decision to give more time to family after they got married. Ayeza Khan is busy shooting for Tum Kon Piya, she is very excited about the project. She also keeps on doing different photo shoots. Danish and Ayeza will be seen together in Brite TVC very soon.
While talking about what she thought about herself in a recent interview Ayeza Khan said,
“I’d say I am simple, I never thought too highly of myself. I am the same Ayeza who started off years ago as a nobody. I like living a simple life.”
Ayeza Khan also shared how she felt when she saw Danish Taimoor on the big screen. She said,
“I see a superstar, the way Danish looks in films, he never looked that way in dramas. His cinematic appearance is larger than life and I’m really proud of him.”
Here are some latest pictures of Ayeza Khan’s photoshoot, her sweet baby Hoorain and with Danish Taimoor.
Ohkay so, this episode was interesting once again. I must say I am amazed that even though so many episodes have passed by, they still have so much left to offer. It is like a done deal that whenever the episode ends, I always look forward to the next one eagerly because I know they aren’t done yet & next episode will be as promising as the one that I just saw!
Even though I find it admirable that Shagufta is still in an awe of her husband & she still loves him like nothing has changed between them, but sadly, she is turning out to be a little gullible to think that she can’t live without Shams. Yes, she is bound to fulfill her duties as Shams’s wife because she chose him over her family & she loved him selflessly but unfortunately, Shams doesn’t deserve so much of love & attention from Shagufta because he hasn’t done anything for Shagufta & also, he isn’t doing anything for her even now. I really thought that after surviving without a husband’s support that too for 17-18 years, Shagufta would’ve learnt the art of judging people correctly but it looks like when it comes to Shams, she is still stuck at the same page & hasn’t moved on at all. When it comes to Shams, Shagufta turns out to be the same Shagufta Shehzadi who fell in love with Shams Syal the moment she saw him at the first day of college & she becomes the same Shagufta Shehzadi who got impressed with Shams Syal’s aura & personality.
Shagufta is leaving no stone unturned to make Shams realize that he is the center of her universe & she is nothing without him but as much as I find her attempts sweet, the whole sweetness turns into bitterness whenever I get to see Shams’s robotic responses. I find it very detestable that Shams is still in such a state of denial to admit that whatever Shagufta has now is only because she worked hard for it & she has earned it all because she was capable of doing that on her own. Shams is so deluded to think that just because he fulfilled some thuggish responsibilities for Suleri, he kept on showering success on Shagufta as she happened to be Shams’s wife.
The way Suleri treated Shams & the way he reacted to the news of Shaguta & Shams’s shopping spree was a clear indication of how uneasy & jealous he was feeling at the thought of Shagufta being with her husband. When Shams was in the prison, Suleri still had a glimmer of hope that may be Shagufta will succumb to the pressures & will find solace in Suleri’s support & presence but now when he saw that none of that sort happened, he was hurt & shattered inside. Suleri can now see that Shagufta is forgetting the responsibility she has towards him & their political party because she is getting swayed by the thought of fulfilling her wifely duties, that is why Suleri took the gloves off & by insulting Shams & giving him a reality check, he actually sent Shagufta a clear message that she is an important part of his political party & not her husband, an ex-convict; Shams.
Shagufta is being a fool to follow Shams’s orders. Considering how Shagufta has stayed in the company of Suleri & how she has been in such a field which is all about playing mind games with people from all walks of life, it is making her look like a bigger fool to follow Shams without even analyzing the situation on her own first. Just when Shams told her to resign, she showed up at Suleri’s door with a resignation letter in her hand. I must say, the conversation that happened in that scene & the exchange of glances between Suleri & Shagufta was done precisely & beautifully. Just when Shagufta told Suleri that loving someone means you have to understand them, the next thing she heard from Suleri was that he understands her too, which left her speechless & shocked because it was a subtle yet clear hint of the feelings Suleri has for Shagufta. That was one powerful scene with some power-packed performances by both the actors & I must say, it has to be the most memorable & favorite scene of mine from the episodes that I have seen so far.
It is actually saddening to see that even after Shagufta has done so much to assure Shams that he is her priority, Shams just came & announced that he was returning to Gujranwala because he belongs to that place & Gujranwala is his ‘home’. It is so unfortunate that even after Shagufta has done so much & she has stood by his side through thick & thin, Shams still considers his brother as his family & doesn’t care much about Shagufta & even their daughter Noori. Shams really is a man with no clue, no plan & no direction in his life. He is so blinded by his dream that he hasn’t put much thought in coming up with something else, like a Plan B in his life. Just because his dream of becoming the MNA wasn’t materialized, he suddenly thought of his property. Shams thinks he still has a chance in the politics if he’ll contest from Gujranwala but like Suleri told him already, his past record is faulty & will only be a hindrance for him but if only Shams’d understand. If there’s one thing that Shagufta needs to understand, it is that she is better off without Shams, not because she doesn’t need him in his life, but because he isn’t the man she thought he was. Shams has never ever provided for Shagufta, he was never present in her life, he never supported her & he belittles her every chance he gets, so it is a high time for Shagufta to understand that Shams was a liability, Shams is a liability & Shams will always be a liability to her. It was so immature of Shams to order Shagufta to resign, without even bothering about how she will fend for the cost of living & how she will take care of the finances. It was hard to see Shams laughing at Shagufta’s face when she told him that she happens to be an influential & strong politician. More than Shagufta, I feel sorry for Shams because he is making a fool out of himself & he is totally oblivious of it!
It was good to see Ilyas & Bhola. Looks like Bhola still hasn’t forgiven Shagufta & thinks she has put her husband through a lot of suffering but if only Bhola wasn’t so one-dimensional, he would be able to see that it was the other way round. I also like the equation both Noori & Roomi are sharing for now. Noori has finally found a genuine friend & she has started to confide in him. Roomi doesn’t know much about Noori but I am sure he will find about her more because his mother seemed quite updated. I loved their family set up too, it shows that Roomi comes from a very decent family, which is completely different to the set up Noori has seen in her life. Shams made me detest him even more when he showed no interest in Noori & didn’t even bother knowing about his daughter. He hasn’t made an effort & he doesn’t seem interested either. Sadly, Shagufta can’t see what her daughter is going through because she is so engrossed in the thoughts of making Shams feel like a part of the family & more like a head of the family. Noori isn’t used to the idea of being with her father, that is why she is feeling left out & neglected, but Shagufta can’t sense that for now. I find it hard to believe that it is the same Shagufta who could read between the lines, who could sense what her father was thinking & could predict what he was going to say. Shagufta was always good at manipulating, but right now she is allowing Shams to manipulate her which is so unlike her.
Overall, this episode was amazing & I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. I must say, I loved the directors approach at keeping the scenes shot & simple. Just a few sentences between Bhola & Ilyas were enough to show that Bhola hasn’t moved on & Ilyas still thinks of Shams as Gujranwala ka ghunda. Just a single scene of Roomi’s family was enough to show what that whole family’s like. I must say, I feel for Noori too & Noor Khan has done a commendable job as Noori. She is at such a stage of life where she shouldn’t care a dime about anything but she is becoming desperate & feels a mental pressure because of her father. The guy playing the character of Roomi has acted brilliantly too. He has been successful in giving a life to the character of a student who has no worries in his life. The preview of the next episode was quite interesting too. Seems like Shams is going to use Zareena to force his way into politics & Shagufta will be pushed to get back with Suleri once again. In this battle, I so am rooting for Shagufta, because if there’s someone who deserves some mental peace & social security, it is Shagufta & not Shams! Please share your thoughts about this episode of Preet Na Kariyo Koi.

The world of instagram can be very enticing for all those people who like to watch the latest pictures of their favorite celebrities. Almost all the celebrities are part of instagram and most of them post more pictures here than on facebook or twitter because instagram is all about pictures. Saba Qamar is one such actress too who is very active on Instagram. She always makes sure that she posts pictures from her latest modeling sessions and those which she takes on the sets of the dramas she is part of on instagram. Saba Qamar looks superb in casual and made up looks. She posts pictures with and without make up because she is very confident about her looks. Saba Qamar’s latest photo shoot was for the very famous designer Mahid Khawar. She wore a white and gold dress in one of the pictures with very heavy jewelry to compliment her look.
Recently Saba Qamar handed over her instagram account to someone she trusts because she is too busy to post herself so we hope that her account will be even more active now. She will of course keep on posting pictures herself too every now and then.
Here are some best pictures of Saba Qamar from her instagram account:
Only days after landing in Pakistan Veena Malik is making her presence felt by being present in every other talk show. Veena Malik and her husband said in an interview that staying away from their country has doubled their love for Pakistan. They have the choice of living anywhere in the world but they will always choose to live in Pakistan. Not only this they both also showed the desire to do welfare work in Pakistan.
Taking an initiative on that front Veena Malik and her husband along with their son Abram Khan visited Bacha Khan University which was targeted by terrorists recently. It was a terrible attack which made people even more worried because people have still not forgotten the children who were killed in the terrorists attacks on the Army Public School last year.
Veena Malik said that she was there to show solidarity, to let these people know that Veena Malik and her family was there for them. She said talking to the press,
“The terrorists attacked our most precious asset, our youth and the best way to avenge that is to ensure that our youth gets education. We feel the pain of those who have lost their loved ones and are here to show solidarity with them. No one can make up for their loss but I brought my own child with me to show my support. We are one when celebrating our joys and now too in these tragic times we stand united.”
Veena Malik is very happy to be back in Pakistan. She keeps on expressing her love for the country in interviews and tweets.
Heaven have mercy! We’re nearing 50 episode now! And into what seems like Season 3 or something. I have lost count of the time lapses in this serial- I’m also completely clueless about how old the actor are supposed to be! If my memory serves me right, when the drama started, Jaani was a 9 year old- when he first set eyes on the newly divorced Mehtaab who came seeking shelter in his home, Mehtaab was at least in her mid twenties if not more. Ten years elapsed and Janni was a young man of 19 smitten by the mid thirty Mehtaab… a couple more years of stupidity passed by until Mehtaab was framed for negligence and murder and was sentenced to life imprisonment (14 years). That would make Jaani around 34 and Mehtaab at least 50. Tht’s when Jaani agreed to marrying his much younger cousin Meena who was at least 7 or 8 years younger than him- making Meena around 26 when she married Jaani. So at one point, Jaani was married to a 20 something wife and took the 50 year old Mehtaab as his second wife! After Meena gave birth to his son, Jaani gifted his son to Mehtaab who was far too old to get preggers herself. Meena grew frustrated and afer the demise of her sister, convinced Jaani to set her free to marry her one true love- Ahmer and raise his 3 kids… 20 years elapsed, and at this point, Mehtaab would be 70, Jaani would be 54 and Meena would be 46… With me, so far?
Now out of nowhere, we’re reintroduced to the characters of Shaqoor Bhai ( the evil dude who framed Mehtaab) who’s now a God-fearing man and has adopted an orphan girl (Moorni – peacock? who looks not more than 16) and also adopted an ageing tawaif as a mother in the hopes of redemption for his countless sins. As they say, karma comes back to bite you when you least expect it and he finds himself framed for multiple murders he didn’t commit! Deja vu much?
Moorni manages to track the biggest hotshot lawyer in town and challenges Jahangir to take on her father’s case in exchange for working as a caretaker… seeing the chulbuli Moorni, Mehtaab ki dil mein phir ek khwaish jaag uthi hai- that Jaani should get married a third time and find marital bliss. Poor Jaani – kabhi becharey ko sahi waqt pe apni humumar biwi nahin naseeb hui! Jaani finds himself enamoured by Moorni’s badd lehaazi and Mehtaab senses his growing affection and needs. So she forgives Shaqoor Bhai and asks for his daughter’s hand in marriage for her Jaani. I mean why not? The two are such an obvious match!
At this point, I can’t help but wonder who’s responsible for keeping this drama alive? Who is funding this stupid excuse of a serial and how long before it ends?
Mawra Hocane has not spoken that much about her role in her upcoming Bollywood film Sanam Teri Kasam until now. She is very happy with everything her role has to offer. While talking to an Indian newspaper Mawra said,
“My role is one that comes once in 10 years. I get to essay a nerdy look and a glam look, which let me play with a variety of emotions. I was offered big films with superstars in Bollywood before but I did not want to be a mere eye candy. I wanted to perform and Sanam Teri Kasam gave me the scope.”
Mawra also talked about her experience of working in India and her future plans in Bollywood which are most certainly not definite in any way. She said,
“I have come from another land but I want to connect with India through my art. Bollywood is as much mine as yours. I don’t make long term plans and that process works for me. I don’t know if the current Indo-Pak socio political situation makes things difficult for artists like me. All I know is I am prepared to go all around the world to get good work.”
Mawra Hocane also said that for her content is much more important to her than glamour and even stardom. Talking about why she decided to work in Bollywood she said,
“I have done 14 projects in Pakistan and worked with the best of talent there. Bollywood looked like a logical next step.”

This first episode of Mann Mayal was thoroughly entertaining and fast paced. It was like watching a number of episodes in one go because so much happened only in these 40 plus minutes. The one thing that stood out about this first episode more than any other were the way the characters were introduced; I am sure there are many other viewers like me who had absolutely no problem connecting to the characters instantly. The credit for that partially also goes to the way this show was promoted but sometimes when there is so much hype surrounding a play the expectations attached to it are enormous therefore one can easily be disappointed as well. That was most certainly not the case here. The comic element in the script made it extremely interesting and I must say that this episode belonged to Mannu (Maya Ali) right from the get-go. This is not the first time that Maya Ali is playing the role of a girl who believes “meri zindagi mei wohi hota hai jo mei chahti hu” and one who does not want to get married but even then I was not reminded of any of the other characters she played in the past while watching the show because Mannu has a personality all of her own and Maya Ali was the perfect actor to play this role.
This first episode showed how different Mannu and Salahuddin (Hamza Ali Abbasi) are and that is exactly why they are attracted to each other. They are however quite unaware of their feelings for each other until they get a chance to interact with each other directly. Bia (Aiman Khan) who is Mannu’s cousin and best friend, however is well aware of the fact that Mannu and Salahuddin have a soft corner for each other. I must say that I absolutely loved the way the relationship between all these characters was translated on screen. Mannu’s scenes with Bia and all the other characters were very interesting. Mannu’s father is a very cool-headed person and her relationship with both of her parents and chachis is very friendly too – something that is most often the trademark of all of Samira Fazal’s scripts. She most often shows us parents who are anything but stereotypical. Saba Hameed plays Mannu’s mother who knows her daughter very well therefore she does not think telling Mannu that this proposal was for her would be a good idea.
Mannu’s eagerness to prove herself to Salahuddin went to show that she didn’t dislike him after all. Salahuddin’s concern for Mannu when she finds out she failed the exam and the fact that he agreed to take them to the mazar at that time of the night went to show that he wasn’t that ghussay wala after all. The scene at the mazar was shot beautifully. All the scenes were short and to the point which is why the director managed to cover so much in just one episode. Hamza Ali Abbasi plays the serious yet caring Salahuddin with perfection but I felt like we didn’t see enough of his character in this episode or perhaps because he was over shadowed by Mannu, who was very amusing. Mannu is full of confidence, she can easily pass as someone who is more confident than she should be. She is very sure that she can achieve a lot in life but she cannot even get one question right even though Salahuddin explained everything to her. Mannu’s sudden interest in Salahuddin was definitely shocking but given the background and Bia’s comments about how they felt about each other all through tonight’s episode suggested that there was more to their interactions than they were willing to admit. Aiman Khan played her part superbly; she is a natural.
The preview of the next episode showed that Mannu will find out that this proposal was for her and she will try to find out whether Salahuddin feels the same way about her as she does about him. Just like most of the plays written by Samira Fazal this one too has started with a big bang. This first episode definitely lived up to the hype and I am waiting to see all the other characters and actors in the play to find out what they have to offer. The director Haseeb Hassan is an expert at creating on screen chemistry between actors and he definitely lived up to his reputation this time around too. This first episode was visually very pleasing as well because the director paid attention to small details like lighting in the street while Salahuddin took Mannu and Bia to the mazar. He showed the life in this particular part of the city beautifully from the breakfast scene to the arrangements for the arrival of a special guest. I would also give Samira Fazal full marks for some very witty dialogues and Maya Ali for her perfect timing. I am definitely looking forward to the next episode.
Did you watch the first episode of Mann Mayal? Do share your thoughts about it.
Mann Mayal is the most awaited drama serial of this season mostly because after the hit drama serial Pyare Afzal this will be the first drama of actor Hamza Ali Abbasi. Everyone expects this play to be good because everyone thinks that Hamza would only choose a quality project after getting such a great response from the audience for his role and performance in Pyare Afzal. The leading actors of Mann Mayal along with the director Haseeb Hassan came to the Jago Pakistan Jago show today so that they could promote their drama. Gohar Rasheed even posted a picture of himself with Haseeb Hassan and Hamza Ali Abbasi in the car while they were on their way to the show. Maya Ali made a special video in which she asked people to watch the promotional show. All the actors and the director was introduced in detail before the host Noor started talking to them about the drama serial.
Ohkay so, I really think they need to move the story forward because it’s been stagnant for quite some while now & the reactions & the situations that they’re showing aren’t really helping in keeping the interest alive in the show.
Hareem is bent on convincing her mother to agree to her Nikkah with Fahad without his parent’s presence. Nighat was right in her own way that she wanted to meet his parents because that’s how normally the proposals are put forth & accepted but Hareem chose to ignore what she was saying as she thinks her mother doesn’t want her to marry Fahad. Hareem tried to seek help from Nadia & Ali but they also chose to side with Nighat & in all honesty, all three of them were making more sense than Hareem alone.
Hareem chose to blow things out of proportion which she is good at & called Fahad to her rescue. Fahad saw that things were slipping out of his hand, that’s why he requested Hareem to be a bit more understanding. Fahad knows that Hareem is not on talking terms with her Uncle, that is why he doesn’t want her to ruin her relations with her mother because Fahad can not afford that as later he will easily blackmail Hareem’s mother for his personal gain.
This episode marked the entry of a new character Asad, who happens to be Ali’s younger brother. To be honest, I am not that impressed with his character & I don’t think he will have much contribution in moving the story forward too. He happens to be that happy-go-lucky sort of a guy who got interested in Hareem the moment he saw her. I so wish to see them showing such guys who fall for girls after looking at their whole personality & not just the face because Hareem acted quite weirdly but Asad didn’t seem to notice it at all. I liked that Ali drew the line immediately & told Asad to not cross it as far as Hareem was concerned because he could see that Nadia was becoming uneasy.
I must say, I am disappointed in Nadia once again because as the episodes are passing by, she is turning out to be quite selfish & insecure when it comes to Hareem. Just because she saw that Asad was kind of getting frank with Hareem in particular, she made a mountain out of molehill & called her mother right away warning her & literally requesting her to get rid of Hareem because her marriage is in danger? Talk about worst case of exaggeration & blowing things out of proportion that too for no solid reason!!! All this while, all these ladies have blamed Hareem for everything she has done thinking she is transpiring something against them but actually these mean girls are more selfish & self-centered than Hareem. Hareem is blunt, bold & straight forward but she still has a clean heart as she easily forgives & forgets but her sisters are the ones who have harbored grudges against her & make sure to keep her at a distance. The way Nadia reacted was completely absurd & ridiculous because it was only showcasing how insecure she is of Hareem. I want to know if Asad had shown interest in Sadia, then would Nadia have reacted the same way? I am sure the answer is no. Just because it was Hareem & not Sadia, Nadia requested her mother to take care of Hareem & send her off with Fahad without even bothering about what will happen to Hareem because if there’s anyone who knows that everything about Fahad is fishy, it is Nadia & sadly, she chose to turn away from the reality because she doesn’t want any obstacles in her life.
I found it very mean & selfish of Nadia where she actually demanded her mother to side with her this time because Nadia thinks her mother has always treated Hareem as a priority which is nothing but a lie because if that would’ve been the case, Nighat would’ve handed either Nadia or Sadia to Shabbir & Zahida. Also, I wasn’t expecting anything positive from Nighat because just the moment she saw that Nadia was feeling anxious & restless, she chose to forget about her condition of meeting Fahad’s parents & chose to get rid of Hareem as if she was nothing more than a fish-bone stuck in her throat.
Overall, this episode was strictly ohkay & I really think they need to move the story forward now. They need to get Hareem & Fahad married so that the story changes & we get to see more because we’ve had enough of the scenarios where supposedly Hareem is putting her family through a tough time, which still doesn’t make me feel anything for them because they are actually being quite mean & rude to her. Also, I must say, the new trend of hair extensions is being exploited in our dramas because it looks like our actresses have untamed brittle hair & haven’t gone for trimming in years. Also, the hair extensions are so evident & weirdly visible, so I am not sure what the actresses are achieving by wearing them. Maryam Ansari (Nadia) really needs to work on her hair, makeup & styling in general because despite having a pretty face, she looks unpleasant & unpolished, also sorry to say but she is turning out to be a case of lip augmentation gone wrong. Sanam Chaudhry has carried herself really really well, from her proper curls to perfect makeup, she looks more sheher wali as compared to the actual & supposed sheher walis like Nadia & Sadia. Anyways, share your thoughts about this episode of Tere Mere Beech please.

Ohkay so, this episode mainly covered the aftermath of Ali & Aabro’s selfishness, but I have to say, all the emotions were portrayed perfectly & realistically. They showed what the families go through when a girl & a guy take a decision of setting their desires as their priorities & when they completely ignore the responsibility they have towards their family members.
Even though Ali seemed a bit skeptical but just because he saw how his mother was being inconsiderate towards his wishes, he chose to go by his heart & didn’t put his mind through the gravity of the situation. Ali actually loves Aabro unconditionally, that is why going by her suggestion, he took such a huge step in a spur of a moment. Ali actually doesn’t understand what is right & wrong & it is surprising that at such an age, he is so immature to not being able to see that his mother only wanted what is best for him. Having said that, I so am not implying that Fauzia was the best choice for him but after the impression Aabro left on Zubaida, she was right in showing reservations about Aabro because she could see that Aabro wasn’t an ideal life partner for her son, Ali.
Unlike Ali, Aabro didn’t even bat an eyelid before ripping her mother off & shredding her reputation into pieces. Aabro effortlessly took the money & jewelry & left the house leaving a note behind that showed her family meant nothing to her. Even though for now, Aabro loves Ali & she is being quite selfless when it comes to him, but she is forgetting that she is the one who couldn’t love her own family & didn’t have an emotional affiliation with her own mother, so only because of this trait she is going to face a lot of hardships because at one point of time, she will grow indifferent to Ali too as she won’t be able to put up an act in front of him for a very long time. If Aabro decides to work on herself in order to improve herself, then she has a chance with Ali but if she keeps this up, she will drive Ali away from herself in a very short span of time.
Both the mothers of Ali & Aabro made me feel for them because they perfectly portrayed what the mothers go through when their children decide to punish them like that. What Ali did was completely wrong but if we consider how Zubaida was being rigid, it showed that she called this on herself but when it comes to Sakina, Aabro had no right to put her mother through this because Sakina always trusted Aabro & went out of the way for shaping Aabro’s life without putting much restrictions on her but Aabro chose to reciprocate the favors of her mothers in the worst way possible.
I didn’t quite understand why Aabro & Ali chose to go for a court marriage in stead of a simple Nikkah in the Masjid. That would’ve validated their relationship even more easily & convincingly. The problems the both faced were just a prelude of what is yet to come in their lives & they both seemed totally clueless & directionless. Aabro is depending on Ali more than he understands & going by how Ali hadn’t done any pre-planning went to show that his immaturity & lack of thinking will cause them both a lot of problems as they both are still not aware of the intricacies of the life they have chosen for themselves & don’t quite seem ready to face the brunt. It came as a shock that Ali was depending on Aabro for the financial help whereas he has been working for quite some while now, so it would’ve been better if they had showed that he had some savings on him too.
Hamid is facing a hard time because of Aabro too & so is Zafar because the word has spread that both Ali & Aabro are missing. I think may be Ali’s parents will try to accept both Ali & Aabro in order to save their whole family from the shame & that’s when the real ordeal will begin because Aabro will give Ali & Zubaida a tough time.
The preview seemed interesting because looks like Ali & Aabro’s happiness will end up being short-lived because it will begin to dawn on them that they both are very different people with different temperaments & they both will have to compromise a lot in order to make their marriage work, which they both don’t look ready for. The families will end up staying involved too & looks like Fauzia will put up a great show which I so am not looking forward too. She is an enough disappointment already & I really am in no mood to see her crying over a guy who doesn’t even care a dime for her!!! Please share your thoughts about this episode of Aabro.
Every episode of Gul-e-Rana makes me question the mental age of the leading characters because even a 10 year old would know that once you are in a relationship you can’t get out of, you try to make it work! In tonight’s episode we saw Rana exploring the jungle during the day, enjoying herself while she was at it and she spent her evenings showing Adeel just how unhappy she was. Honestly speaking at this point even with all his chauvinistic, narrow-minded thinking and conniving ways Adeel seems to be more eager to make this relationship work than Rana.
Rana is not cheating on Adeel by talking to other men but she is making sure that this relationship does not work out. Rana does feel jealous when Adeel talks to other girls and that is probably why Adeel talks to other girls in front of her but in one of the conversations today he did ask Rana to tell him how she felt and if she wanted him to change for her. Although I hate the way Adeel thinks and there is barely anything likable about his character but even then one thing has been well established that he loves Rana. It does make you wonder if he would be willing to change if Rana sat down and talked to him and told him what she expected from him. Why did she marry him in the first place if she wanted a divorce from him? I hate to put all the blame on Rana because Adeel is the one who forced her into this relationship but if she knows she has absolutely no other choice then the wise thing to do would be to try to change Adeel. She spends her day catching butterflies and sits down to study at night, blames Adeel for disturbing her and is definitely looking for reasons to fight. Basically ever since they got married these two kids have been trying their best to make the other person feel like they mean nothing to them when actually now it seems like Rana does feel something more than just hatred for Adeel.
. Rana does everything around the house to make sure that all is taken care of, we even saw her freezing food for Adeel before she left which suggested that she was willing to do her ‘duties’ as a wife but when she is around Adeel she is a different person. She called Taya Abu to rescue her but when he finally arrived and asked her to tell her whatever she wanted to somehow she did not have a word to say. Every time something like this happens when Rana needs to tell someone what is going on she just stays quiet. This particular scene had to be one of the most frustrating ones in this whole episode. Asher ‘bhai’ called Rana his ‘dost’ but since Rana does not believe that there can be friendship between a man and a woman therefore she keeps on referring to herself as his behan. While Rana is very comfortable sharing her problems with Asher who can do absolutely nothing about her problems, she cannot say a word to people (like her Taya) who can actually do something about her problems! The logic that she gives in the preview of the next episode is that Taya would never have believed her – well how about giving it a shot since this is a very desperate situation! How does she intend to get out of this marriage? I am guessing by annoying Adeel so much that he leaves her! Brilliant plan Rana!
We never see Rana having a conversation with her mother which is very strange. This mother daughter relationship is yet another wasted opportunity. Although Munira says she is missing her daughter and wants to see her but the viewers have only seen them having one conversation ever since she got married. We are shown instances where Rana is shown telling women not to put up with abuse which shows that she is dead against women putting up with something like that yet we see her doing very little about her own problems.
My dua for our leading characters after this episode would be that Allah in ko aqal day! And after watching this episode I am convinced that Rana is more in need of some much needed wisdom than Adeel. If Adeel is stubborn, Rana is even more so. Both our leads need to grow up otherwise the story will go around in circles the way it has been for the past so many episodes. The writer unfortunately did not put a lot of thought into penning down this script. I must say that unlike before Feroze Khan completely owns his character at the moment. Rana’s character however has absolutely nothing going for it and Sajjal’s acting doesn’t have anything new to offer either. I am still wondering why Sajjal Ali thought she was playing a strong character. Her character is not even smart! Rana keeps on giving the viewers mixed signals which tends to be very frustrating at times. The background score was used in a very strange way in many situations in tonight’s episode. It was almost as if through the music too the director was trying to show that Rana was living a nightmare when she was with Adeel and she was in her ‘happy place’ when she was in the jungle during the day! Even when Rana was explaining how afraid she was of animals the music in the background did not go with the scene at all. Although people have told Rana over and over again that there are wild animals in the area but nothing seems to deter her except for the ‘darinda’ at home.

Momal’s Sheikh’s father and famous Pakistani film star Javed Sheikh started his career in Bollywood many years back and he continuously keeps on working in Bollywood films. Now Momal Sheikh is also going to start her Bollywood film career with the film “Happy Bhaag Jaye Gi” in which Javed Sheikh is also been cast. Talking to Dawn Images Javed Sheikh revealed,
“In the film, I play a Pakistani bureaucrat and am Abhay Deol’s father. Momal, on the other hand, is Abhay’s fiance, so she plays my daughter-in-law.”
Talking about how she landed in this project Momal said,
“[The director/producer] were looking for an actress for a really long time. Baba [Javed Sheikh] had given them a few names of good actresses, but none of them were able to commit to the project for various reasons. When they came to know about me, they asked Baba, but he suggested that I wasn’t ready because I had just had my baby. But they approached me anyway, and the director talked to me about Tanu Weds Manu’s success, and I read the script, which I found to be really good.”
Momal Sheikh is very close to her father Javed Sheikh in real life, they are friends more than father and daughter. The audience would love to see them on screen together.
Now that Veena Malik is back in Pakistan everyone wants to interview her. Different talk show hosts have their own style of interviewing. While Farah did not talk much about Veena’s past when she was on the show, the host on Samaa’s show brought a lot of Veena’s past when he invited Asad Bashir and Veena Malik to his show. He asked if Veena will do the show Big Boss again if she was offered it since she was very proud that she represented Pakistan in the show. She said,
“I won’t do it again because there are some things which might have looked very appealing and delightful in the past but you do not think is suitable for you in the present.”
Listening to this reply the host bluntly asked if Veena was ashamed of everything she did in Big Boss. To which she confidently replied,
“No not at all, why should I have not taken that opportunity? Nothing controversial happened, it was just a reality show. The light in which it was showed was wrong, everything was manipulated.”
Asad Bashir Khattak jokingly said that he was going to be the next one to participate in the show if one of them was ever going to participate. Asad Bashir kept cool all through the discussion and gave candid replies.
Usman Peerzada is a legendary actor and director who has done a great deal for the theatre in Pakistan particularly. Right now he is busy directing a play for Six Sigma Plus which will air on ARY Digital. He was invited as a guest to Maria Wasti’s Morning Show although he is not seen giving interviews very often. Usman Peerzada said that the theater nowadays with the cheap dances etc is not theater but it is like a night club. Talking about the youth in films especially with reference to direction he said,
“The tragedy of Pakistani youth is that the second they are done with their studies they want to come into direction whether it is directing a drama or film. What they don’t understand is that direction isn’t the art of wrapping 19 scenes in one day, it is much more than that. They should start from scratch and then go into direction.”
Talking about his marriage and relationship with his wife he said,
“We did not have any children for 12 years and those 12 years were very beneficial for us to understand each other. We are both difficult people to understand so it is good that we got that time. We have fought a lot too, we argued a lot but who doesn’t fight? Our mothers played a major role in making sure that our relationship lasted. I am very close to Samina’s mother and Samina is very close to my mother. “
Usman Peerzada also talked about his childhood. He said,
“I grew up in the world of theater. As a historical fact I would like to tell you that Sufi Tabbsaum was a very close friend of my father. My father was the one who asked him to write nonsensical poems for kids. Faiz Ahmed Faiz used to visit our house very often.”
Talking about the rule he followed in acting, he said,
“Acting is very easy, doing no acting is difficult. In my opinion acting started when dialogue ends. Anyone can learn a dialogues but natural acting is what this field is all about.”
Talking about different fields he said,
“Film is a very technical medium. The true area of the actor if theater. Film is a technician’s place. Radio becomes a tougher job for the actor because all the burden is on his shoulders.”
Usman Peerzada also had something to say about those actors who are only in the field because of their contacts. He said,
“Not everyone is born to be an actor, either you have it in you or you don’t. Some people nowadays are bent on acting only to torture the viewers.”
Usman Peerzada praised Sultana Siddiqui and HUM dramas in his interview.
Kiran Haq is one of the emerging talents of the Pakistan television industry. She started her career few years back from Geo television. Kiran Haq was noticed and liked by the audience immediately because of her natural acting and attractive looks. Recently she has been seen playing prominent roles in plays like Sangat and Maan. She has worked with the best directors and has played the lead with some of the best actors. She was also seen in drama serial Akbari Asghari. Unlike many other actors Kiran Haq has always stood out even when she is doing a side role, this is the reason why the directors are casting her in more important lead roles.
Kiran Haq is also good friends with Saba Qamar. Both the actresses were spotted enjoying their holidays in Dubai.
Here are some pictures of Kiran Haq’s latest photo shoot which she posted on her instagram page.
Rabab Hashim is a relatively new face on the television screen but she has made a place for herself in the industry in a short span of time. She has been seen in many notable dramas and television commercials. Rabab has worked with some very prominent actors and directors. Not too many people are aware of Rabab’s fun and adventurous side. She started this new year with a tour to the United States in which she visited every possible place and tried everything fun. She went to Disney World and she also tried some roller coaster rides. The year 2015 was a great year for the actress and model Maya Ali because she was a part of some very big and successful projects on the television screen and she was the show stopper for leading designers on the ramp. This year has started on a very promising note for this young actress too with her drama serial Mann Mayal starting soon. Maya Ali is also the brand ambassador for Maria B. this year. Maria B. is one of the leading designers in the country who has a lot of outlets and a big clientage. She recently launched her MBROIDERED luxury edition collection which looked great on Maya Ali. It is surely a big accomplishment when a leading designer chooses some model as their brand ambassador and it shows the success of that model.
Here are some pictures from Maya Ali’s latest photo shoot:
Ohkay so, looks like the time has come where we’d have to bid farewell to all those amazing characters that we were introduced to. I think the writer is leaving no stone unturned to make us detest those characters that we once used to love & those characters that were a strength of this drama. I must say, the sudden shift in the personalities & thinking of these once-normal characters is marking the downhill of Mana Ka Gharana!!!
Mana got to shop to her heart’s greed when she was with Shehryaar & he didn’t miss a chance to feed her time & again that he spent a lot of money on her. Gul Bahar is like a negative broken record who is only there to say things that are totally unnecessary & over the top repeatedly. I must say, I found it ridiculous that even the engagement was happening on Shehryaar’s terms & conditions. I didn’t see an official proposal being ever made to the whole family, he just came, liked Mana, called her, shopped with her & next thing we know, they’re getting engaged.
Khizer did everything to make Mana & the whole Gharana happy while keeping his feelings for Mana aside but sadly, no one saw that. The whole issue that happened between Happy, Shehryaar & Khizer was convincing in a way that it showed how short-tempered & arrogant Shehryaar is, but the discussions, conversations & the conclusions that followed that event were disasterous & made no sense whatsoever!
Why is it that we never saw anyone from the family questioning Shehryaar’s mindset. Why is it that none of them had the guts to blame Shehryaar for the wrong he did. After Shehryaar & Gul Bahar left & everyone was sitting for the sake of conversation, I thought we’d get to see how everyone was disappointed with Shehryaar’s behavior but Saleha turned everything against Khizer & blamed him for putting Shehryaar down. I would’ve agreed to it if Khizer had raised his voice or if he had misbehaved with Shehryaar too but going by what we saw, Khizer only requested him to make truce with Happy but everyone blamed Khizer for the things he didn’t even say or do.
I am actually shocked to see how illogical & irrational Saleha has become. All the things she said about Happy & his social standing were disgusting. Just because her daughter has bagged a rich psycho, she now thinks she’s in a position to look down on everyone, which is ridiculous. I am actually so disappointed at the writer that where she showed us amazing characters that were unique & different, now the same characters are becoming so weird & annoying that it is getting intolerable. I so wish at least one of them had told her that Shehryaar was at fault & not Khizer. Maalik did say but he didn’t say it convincingly or authoritatively, which showed that a part of him also believed that Khizer was wrong.
Honestly speaking, I know this will sound harsh or rude but I so wish that apart from rolling eyes & wheelchair, Ghalib uncle says something. He goes like Saleha is being jazbati because of Mana, but I guess he was mistaken & used the wrong word because Saleha wasn’t being emotional, she was purely being greedy. I so wish that after whatever has happened, at least Ghalib was shown to be doing some thinking & being a bit skeptical in regards to Shehryaar & Mana’s engagement because if a guy can get so snappy at such a small incident, wonder what he’s going to do with Mana if she infuriates him ever. So, not being able to see any sort of reaction from Ghalib uncle being a father, was another disappointment that came along as well!
Gul Bahar is just using Shehryaar to get back at Maalik & she is not ashamed to admit it. I think even Shehryaar is stupid to be following her lead because the one who couldn’t do well in her marriage won’t let Shehryaar have a happy life too because she has already started to spew venom & has started to turn him against Mana & her family & Shehryaar is allowing her to to interfere more & more in his life. I find it funny that now when Maalik has blamed Gul Bahar, Saleha is turning out to be her lawyer & defending her in front of everyone, whereas if I’m not mistaken, Saleha disliked Gul Bahar because she put Maalik through so much suffering, so why is it so hard for Saleha to put two & two together & think that when Gul Bahar can show so much of ignorance in regards to her husband, she won’t be their well-wisher at all.
Also, I am disappointed in seeing Mana & the greed in her. Just because she shopped with him for a while, she has come to a conclusion that she can not live without him & he’s the only guy who can make her happy. I loved the things Khizer said to Mana but I am not too sure what is it in Mana that’s giving her so much confidence in her intuition about Shehryaar. Mana has never stepped out of the town before in her life & she has never ever interacted with anyone outside of her family before, so how can she be so sure of Shehryaar? What makes her think that he loves her & he’s the one for her?
I must say, even though I’m still following this drama but I am so disappointed in the writer because she has ruined all those unique characters that we loved & liked to watch. This drama was different because the things that these characters said made sense & they seemed very real, but now they all are turning out to be very superficial & hideous. Also, I am not too sure why Maalik is taking so much time in finalizing his divorce to Gul Bahar. He should get over with it ASAP so that Gul Bahar gets a message loud & clear that her chance of getting back with Maalik is numbered! Please share your thoughts about this episode of Mana Ka Gharana.
Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.
PS: Please keep the Shuhada of Charsadda & their families in your prayers.
The story is finally moving forward and even though just like every other episode I couldn’t help but question many of the latest developments yet this was one of those very few episodes of Beqasoor in which there was a great deal of character development. Sheheryar’s attitude towards Hira changed altogether and it was good to see that even with all his flaws he wasn’t going to let someone take his daughter’s life. He is of course responsible for everything that has happened till now because had he not abandoned his daughter and disowned her later on when she came to him, things would have been very different but watching him trying to save her was somewhat refreshing since so far all the characters in this play have been very black and white. Shehryar’s showed a different side of his character today. He is a very stubborn man who will do anything to have his way and now that he has decided to save Hira’s life there is some hope for her. However he is definitely not in the position to blame anyone. He still doesn’t feel bad about the way he left his wife and daughter but he will do whatever it takes to prevent further damage. I won’t be surprised however if he backs out once Hira is perfectly fine.
While I could totally relate to why Sadaf would think Hira was better off dead, I found it very hard to believe that a mother would give poison to her daughter but would not drink that poison herself. It was a very desperate situation because the way Waseem plotted to make this nikkah happen led to circumstances which Sadaf could not foresee also she was under the effect of the medicines which Hira’s phupo gave her therefore she was probably incapable of making a sound decision. Even then the ‘zehr ka pyala’ was a little too clichéd. Until now the fact that Hira is incapable of making any decision on her own is well established. She went ahead with the nikkah when she was pressurized by her step-father and she drank poison when her mother asked her to. Both these things did not solve any of her problems! For the first time tonight I felt for Hira’s character because it seemed like she was just a child who was raised to please everyone. She is someone who was never taught to say no and she cannot change her personality now. Saboor Ali didn’t have a lot of dialogues in tonight’s episode, that helped too! Since she tends to overdo every emotional scene and makes it impossible to feel for her character.
Babar’s happiness was short lived but nevertheless it was good to see him happy even if it was for a little while. I don’t even remember the last time we saw his character so happy with his life. All the plans he made with his mother and his excitement showed what an ideal life Hira could have had with this man but she chose to make those people happy who don’t care about her happiness at all. Sehr’s phupo yet again planted an idea in her head and then waited to watch her react. She always enjoys creating drama and then when she thinks that things might get out of hand she asks Sehr to take it easy. She wants Sehr to stay with Sheheryar because that way she can continue helping her financially but she doesn’t want her to feel happy or secure. She is one of those people who like causing situations which give rise to stress and then she sits back and enjoys the show! She is definitely someone I want to see being punished in the end. Waseem also proved yet again that he is a heartless man who only does what pleases him. He is incapable of loving anyone at all and he is a very bad judge of character. Hira’s phupo said Babur and his mother were coming in the evening but somehow Babur was planning to come the next day, that part was confusing.
Salahuddin Tunio is absolutely brilliant as Amin; there is nothing remotely likable about this man and he is in no way Hira’s match. Now that Amin knows that he is Hira’s husband, he will make sure that he asserts his authority. Will he get Sadaf arrested? Will Sheheryar help Sadaf out of this situation or he is there only for his daughter? For the first time I am waiting to find out what happens next! I must say that I was glad that I didn’t have to watch Saboor Ali’s over acting in this episode. All the other actors are doing their part well.

Many Pakistani actors have crossed the border recently to widen their horizon. All these actors keep on stressing that art knows no boundaries. Ahsan Khan also revealed in a recent interview that he had been offered three Bollywood films. One of these films was delayed and he is busy finalizing everything for the second film. Right now Ahsan Khan was busy shooting for the telefilm Mohabbat Ki Akhri Kahani in India which is probably when he got the film offers and decided to take up some of them.
Apart from having plans to work in India, Ahsan Khan will also be seen in two Pakistani films. Some sources revealed that he will be playing a lead opposite Neelam Munir in one of these films.
Ahsan Khan will also be seen in a drama which will be directed by the very talented Shahzad Kashmiri. He will be playing the lead opposite Naveen Waqar in the drama. Mann Mayal is the most awaited play of this season for many reasons. Hamza Ali Abbasi’s fans in particular were waiting impatiently to watch him on the small screen after his mind blowing performance in Pyare Afzal and now their wish will come true with Hamza Ali making a comeback with drama serial Mann Mayal. The play is also being looked forward to because of the director Haseeb Hassan who was behind the biggest hit of last year Diyar-e-Dil. Mann Mayal has been written by Samira Fazal. The team of the drama is very excited about it and it is being promoted by them in different ways. Many people were expecting Mann Mayal to air on Friday but it will be aired on 25th January which is Monday. It will air at 8pm.
According to the HUM website the main plot of the drama is as follows
“Aik masoom larki ki kahani jis nay chora ghar, mohabbat ki khatir. Magar phir bhi reh gayi khali hath. Aur mehroom reh gayi apnay hissay ki mohabbat say.”
The complete OST of the drama serial will be released very soon too.
Zaid AliT also visited the sets of Mann Mayal. Maya Ali and Hamza Ali Abbasi both posted pictures with Zaid AliT and they also expressed how much they liked meeting him.
HUM has started showing the more awaited plays which it promotes more than others on weekdays unlike before when all of its hit plays were aired on Friday and Saturday.
Nida Yasir has been hosting her own Morning Show for many years now and when you are hosting a show for this long sometimes you run out of ideas which will get attention from the public. There are many other Morning Shows on other channels because of which the competition for getting maximum viewership is intense. It is because of this crazy rat race that sometimes our Morning Show hosts get desperate and they stage events on their show but they want the viewers to think that all this is real. Nida Yasir is well known for making different couples fight on her show. She says that she has invited these couples to solve their problems but actually she makes them fight in which they discuss very private matters and this way the host expects to create controversy.
It is also a fact that although Pakistani people criticize controversial things but it is also true that nowadays controversial content gets more attention from the viewers than the more decent material. Controversial people are watched by the viewers even if they watch them out of curiosity or criticize them later on. Similarly when people hear that a celebrity couple fought badly on Nida’s show and they were almost at the verge of getting divorced then Nida’s mission will be accomplished!
It is sad to see Javeria and Saud participating in this whole drama. Javeria is using very harsh language to make it all look genuine but anyone can tell that all this has been done for TRPs.
Ohkay so, it was yet another interesting episode of Preet Na Kariyo Koi. Honestly speaking, dramas like Diyar-e-Dil & Preet Na Kariyo Koi restore my faith in our drama industry because such dramas let us know that there are still such people in this industry who work for the sake of quality entertainment without making ratings their main objective. I feel more directors, writers & producers need to follow the examples that dramas like these have set because it is a done deal that if a story would be great, the ratings would follow & there won’t be any need left to sensationalize stuff for the sake of TRPs.
So, 15 years have passed & a lot has changed. Shagufta kept on following Suleri & Shams’s orders just because she wanted to set her husband free from the jail. In the meanwhile, she kept on taking such steps that have now turned her into one of the most influential politicians of the present time. It was so obvious that Shagufta never put her heart & soul into politics because just when the celebrations would be over, she would long to go back to her daughter, she would long to go back to her small world where she was just a mother & a wife with a hope who was waiting for her husband. All the name that Shagufta has earned is only due to the strategies Suleri adapted to strengthen his political party & to refine his party’s image too, because when it comes to Shagufta, she never was into it wholeheartedly & never brainstormed about anyways!
Shams came out & I loved the way they showcased his feelings & emotions. Right from the moment he stepped out of the prison, he was forced to wake up & smell the coffee, because he was now a nobody in the game of politics & was just being cheered upon because he was Shagufta’s husband. That was the very first shock that came to him & somehow it was a beginning of the reality that Shams will now have to face because he has spent a lot of years in a bubble & in a state of denial that he still means something to Suleri. I must say, the director deserves full points for brilliantly portraying Shams’s state of mind. Just the way he talked & chose to stay silent completely engrossed in his thoughts was a display of how he will need some time to get back to normal life. 17 years is a long long time to change & shake someone’s mind & heart, that is why everything that now Shams did was a sheer depiction of what he has been through. The trauma Shams went through was doubled because he wasn’t purely guilty in the first place & was getting punished for the murder that someone else committed, therefore, the shift in his personality & the bitterness in him pictured his current state of mind.
Shams was still a bit shaken with Shagufta’s popularity & was finding it hard to absorb & then came Mr. Suleri, who straight away refused to welcome Shams into his political party, shattering him emotionally even a bit more. It was a shock for both Shagufta & Shams but I think Shagufta should’ve understood by now that if Suleri had wanted, he would’ve helped Shams way back & her husband wouldn’t have to stay in jail for 17 years, but he didn’t, which was a clear notification of his intentions that he lost faith & interest in Shams completely. Shagufta tried to have a conversation with Suleri just to find out that he was in no mood to take Shams back because his party was doing quite well without him in the first place. Shagufta tried to make him understand that she did everything for Shams’s sake but Suleri once again tried to guilt-trip her that she is bound to pay the party back with her services because the party has invested in her a lot. I am sure it won’t be easy for Shagufta to walk out on Suleri because he won’t let her have her way, also it would be easy for Suleri to diss Shams because he is an ex-convict, so he will bring bad name to the party & Suleri will definitely use this card against him!
Mushtaq, his wife & Zareena are still stuck on the same page. Zareena is still hopeful that Shams will come back to her & Mushtaq & his wife are still bitter & angry. Noori & Roomi’s characters were introduced & I liked their presence, it seems that they will make things a little lighthearted. I don’t know why but I have a feeling that Roomi will be related to Noori, he might be Ilyas’s son or something but not sure because they didn’t show Ilyas’s baby when Goshi went to meet the whole family last time, but most certainly, there would be more to Roomi’s character & that’s what I feel. I also feel that may be Shams & Zareena have a chance now because Shams seems a little too iffy in regards to Shagufta. He hinted it clearly that if Shagufta had followed her Chachi’s advice, then Shams wouldn’t have gone through all of this, implying that his life turned upside down the moment Shagufta walked into it. Also, I do believe Zareena still has something left to contribute to the story otherwise they wouldn’t have kept her lurking in the background, also hoping for Shams’s bail & his return to her as her husband!
I must say, I am relieved that they showed Sagufta staying true to Shams when he was in jail all this time & she never let Suleri cross any lines with her, even after he tried quite a bit. Shams is a fool to not being able to see how much Shagufta loves him & what she has done for him because in return, Shams didn’t provide her with anything but Shagufta never let any difficulty stop her from loving her husband. It was actually quite sad to see Shams cutting her off & not showing any interest in her confessions or asking her once about how she managed living without him for 17 years. I felt bad for Shagufta when she tried to share her feelings & was stopped by Shams right away because he was pretty much done after telling how hard these 17 years were on him. I really really like Shagufta’s character in this regard that she made a promise with Shams & without even bothering about anything else, without even getting burdened with the world of responsibilities that she had, she loved him truly & selflessly. I so hope Shams can see what a perfect wife Shagufta is & stops obsessing over the thing that wasn’t meant to be his in the first place. Also the things Shams heard from the shopkeeper about himself should serve as an eye-opener to him!
The whole scenario where Shagufta was worrying sick about Shams while he roamed aimlessly from one place to another was interesting too. It made me think that it is highly unlikely that Shams & Shagufta will have a normal life & a normal relationship with each other. Shams is now someone who is only going to bother Shagufta mentally & emotionally. It also showed the insecurity Shagufta has, not in terms of how strong or weak her relation is, but in terms of what she feels about Shams. She has had enough & doesn’t want to see anything happening to Shams again, that is why she felt her world came crushing down because Shams was gone for a few hours. I wonder how long Shagufta will survive if Shams keeps putting her through this because when he was in jail, Shagufta knew he was safe but now that he is moving around freely, Shagufta can’t help worrying about him as she knows Mushtaq is still after him. I kind of feel sorry for Shagufta because she doesn’t deserve such a careless & selfish husband who is only worried about himself & doesn’t think about his wife at all.
Overall, this episode was engaging too & was gripping as well. The preview seemed interesting too because looks like Shams will now provoke Shagufta even more against Suleri & Suleri will tell her to take care of Shams. Shagufta will once again be torn between Shams & Suleri, which is going to be very interesting. I must say Ahsan Khan took the crown in this episode. He was phenomenal as Shams & depicted his mental & emotional state perfectly. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Preet Na Kariyo Koi!
