These two hosts also made fun of the ridiculous expectations of the people running these shows but also shared that they had no choice but to do exactly what they were asked to do.

Abid Ali
Abid Ali was born and raised in Quetta, capital of Balochistan province but he got fame from dramas of PTV Lahore centre. Abid Ali started his career from Quetta Radio in early 1970’s, which was the sole media opportunity in then small town of Quetta. Pakistan television Quetta center was inaugurated in 1974, but before that Abid had migrated to Lahore which was considered the cultural center of Pakistan. Abid Ali’s first famous play was Jhok Sayal in 1973-74 from PTV Lahore centre. In Jhok Sayal Abid Ali was paired with Humaira Chaudhry. Humaira Chaudhry was a new face at that time, who also provided vocals for few songs in films of that era.
After Jhok Sayal, Abid starred in numerous mega serials of PTV Lahore center like Waaris (1978-79), Hazaron Rastay (1985-86), Piyaas (1987), Suraj Kay Saath Saath (1987), Khawahish (1990) and many others. Abid Ali also worked in many films in supporting and side roles throughout 1980’s and 1990’s.
In 1989, television entered a new era when first private terrestrial channel NTM (Network Television Marketing) was launched thus ending monopoly of PTV over television transmission. NTM encouraged many independent producers to make dramas which introduced television audience to new subjects which otherwise were restricted on PTV. Abid Ali is a prominent name, who invested in infant private drama productions to strengthen its future. Abid Ali produced many successful dramas like Dooriyan(1991), Dasht(1994), Doosra Aasman (1997),Pinjra (1999), Hawa Pe Raqs (2002) most of which were successful.
Abid Ali experimented with new subjects and ideas in all these dramas. Dooriyan was based on a novel of Sidney Sheldon, Dasht was the story of a tribal environment in Balochistan, while Doosra Aasman was first Pakistani drama shot in UAE, which was based on Pakistani expatriates in UAE. Similarly Hawa Pe Raqs was story covering the circus workers. Abid also introduced many new faces through his productions like Atiqa Odho, Asad Malik in Dasht, Nida Mumtaz in Dooriyan, Iman Ali, Zeeshan Sikandar in Pinjra and Moammer Rana in Hawa Pe Raqs. Abid also starred in all these dramas in character roles performing memorable roles of his career.
In early 2000 a new era of private satellite channels started, which provided vast opportunities to television professionals. Abid Ali continued production but unlike 1990’s now he mostly produced commercial stuff mainly soap dramas. Abid Ali partnered another television artist named Syed Mukhtar for the production house Gold Bridge Media. Their production house produced many soaps and serials the most famous of which was Maasi Aur Malika on Geo TV. Abid Ali led an active life right till the end, doing what he loved and even after his demise, his dramas continue to go on air.
Abid Ali’s First Wife
Abid Ali married Humaira Chaudhry in mid 1970’s after success of their drama Jhok Sayal. The couple has three daughters Maryam Ali, Iman Ali and Rehma Ali. Humaira Chaudhry started her career as a singer and also acted in few television plays around 1973-74. Humera’s younger sister Shama Chaudhry was also an artist. Paired with Abid Ali, Jhok Sayal in 1974 was the most successful play of Humaira. After success of Jhok Sayal, many critics predicted a bright career for the Humaira in both films and television. The hit on-screen pair of Jhok Sayal decided to get married. Despite strong opposition from her father, Humaira Ali finally married Abid Ali. Humaira quit acting and singing thus sacrificing her career for this marriage.
Despite few ups and downs mainly due to financial difficulties, both Humaira Ali and Abid Ali always tried their best to keep their family life private by maintaining a distance from media. Humaira made a comeback in singing, when she provided vocals for OST’s and songs of dramas produced by Abid Ali in 1990’s like Dasht and Doosra Aasman.
Humaira and Abid Ali got divorced after Abid Ali got married to Rabia Noreen.
Abid Ali’s Second Wife
Abid Ali got married to television actress Rabia Noreen in January 2006. Rabia Noreen and Abid Ali in one of the shows narrated how they met and why they decided to get married. This was also Rabia Noreen’s second marriage.
Rabia Noreen started her acting career from PTV Karachi center’s drama Zeenat which was written by Fatima Surriya Bajiya. Despite success of Zeenat, Rabia took a break from acting after marriage. Her first marriage was not successful and thereafter she also worked as air-hostess. Rabia returned to acting from drama Babar in 1996 in which she played the role of second wife of Babur (played by Shabbir Jaan). Since her return Rabia mostly appeared in negative roles.
When Abid Ali got married for the second time, Humaira Ali expressed her disappointment in few press interviews. After the second marriage of Abid Ali, his first wife Humaira Ali resumed her acting career in dramas and performed many supporting roles. She played a memorable role in drama Asghari Akbari as BatoolaN. Humaira Ali also played a minor role in film Bol, and later on was seen in many other popular dramas.

Maryam Ali is the oldest daughter of Abid Ali and Humaira Ali. Maryam is an amateur artist, who worked in few serious theater plays in Lahore. Iman Ali is Abid Ali and Humaira’s middle child. She has been a leading model who is also successful in acting. Iman Ali is known for doing selective work.
Iman Ali started her career from modeling. One of her earliest drama was Pinjra(1999) produced by her father Abid Ali. Her first major introduction was appearance in video of Abrarul Haq’s song Saannu tere naal pyar ho gaya opposite Meekal Zulfiqar. On television Iman appeared in several dramas, mostly in glamorous roles.
Her famous dramas are Jaye Kahan Yeh Dil (Geo Tv), Qismat (Geo TV), Dil Day Ke Jayenge(Geo Tv). Iman’s debut film was critically acclaimed Khuda Ke Liye in 2007. Iman Ali starred with another debutant Fawwad Khan and also won the Lux Style Award in the subsequent year. The youngest daughter of Abid Ali and Humaira Ali, Rahma Ali is also active in acting and singing. Rehma has worked in several dramas in different roles. Nail Polish was her debut drama on ATV. As a singer Rahma has also been part of Coke Studio Season 7 and recently has sung OST for leading dramas.

Opening Thoughts – Aflatooni Mohabbat (Is that even a word/expression?)
Ohkay so, this episode of Jo Tu Chahay was pretty basic yet again. To be honest, even though they have changed the title of the drama, but still while watching this episode, I was wondering what ran through the writer’s mind that she decided to name this kind of cliched & below average story ‘Kun Faya Kun’. I remember when I heard the title, I automatically assumed that the story of this drama is going to be quite substantial, considering the kind of name it had, like these are some real powerful & meaningful words for us all, but now when I see this drama more & more, I really am glad that they have changed the title. I still feel Jo Tu Chahay is again a wrong title for it, because this drama could’ve easily passed as ‘Shadi, Khana Abadi’ or ‘Jethani Devrani Ki Jung’ or ‘Kunwari Larki Ke Khuwab’ or ‘Nashukri’ or ‘Mohallay Ki Mohabbatain’ or yes, going by what our Wise & Wicked Areesha said ‘Aflatooni Mohabbat’. Trust me, this is how basic & cliched the story of this drama is & I am still hoping that they will give me something substantial that will wow me but so far, I am feeling underwhelmed. I still feel this drama is worth watching, like even though it has a whole chunk of family politics but they still have kept it real, which makes it a decent drama to tune to but it is quite below average in terms of storyline!
Aflatooni Desperation:
After watching this episode, I am totally convinced that the story of this drama is based on desperate young girls who have been brought up with brain-feeding such as ‘miyan ke ghar jaogi to apne saray armaan puray kar lena’, because other than that I don’t see any reason behind all of them dying to get married, be it Bisma, be it Areesha or even our Bholi Masoom Shareef-e-Zamana Mashal. Every single episode shows one of them weaving the dream of getting married to the cousin-Bhaiyya-next-door. Areesha is lucky that she was the first one & this has made Bisma even more frustrated & our masoom Mashal has also tasted what it feels like to get approached by the cousin-bhaiyya-next-door & then just think about the idea of marriage, that is why she hasn’t been able to take that out of her masoomana mind.
I feel if the writer was going on the lines of making Mashal’s character like that of Kashaf from Zindagi Gulzar Hai, then she should’ve made Mashal a little different. I remember in the initial stages of Zindagi Gulzar Hai, Kashaf was full of grudges & complaints against Allah SWT too but then, her character was far more than that of an ungrateful woman who just cursed her own kismat & didn’t believe in doing the hard work. Kashaf changed her life & she did everything for her mother because she wanted to reward her for being her support system. Now this is what I will call a journey but now when I look at Mashal, going by what I have seen before in the form of Kashaf’s journey, I took Mashal’s complaining that way too because I felt she’ll snap out of this self-pity & focus on shaping her life but oh boy, for her, all of her dreams of studying & finding a job vanished into thin-air the moment Armaan ‘BHAI’approached her. Mashal got all the more reasons to be ungrateful & indulge in self-pity because her armaan of getting married to Armaan BHAI couldn’t get materialized!!!
Areesha got her visa & now she was on cloud 9. To be honest, this entire situation was quite unrealistic where Hashir & Areesha started off with shadi ki shopping but no date was decided from Shama’s side? I mean where does a situation like this happen? Hashir is quite mature so I guess he should’ve analyzed the situation first. Also, I am not sure where does this happen too where a guy buys ticket for his wife when the official Rukhsati hasn’t taken place yet especially when this was not decided at the time of Nikkah? Anyways, Hashir has time & again proved that he is going to be there for Mashal & that he will take care of her smallest wishes too & oye hoye hoye hoyeeee, our masoom Mashal has started thinking about Hashir Bhai, oh no, I mean ‘un’. The preview made me roll my eyes so hard that I am now drinking a cup of black coffee to subside the headache. I wish they had edited out the scene where Mashal spoke about her future dreams which revolved around education & a career, rather they had shown her openly speaking about dreaming of getting married to her Cousin Charming because this is what her character has reduced to. I am not saying that dreaming about your marriage is a bad thing but to see all of these girls doing airee choti ka zorrrr for getting married, where one is going to Baba Jee, the other is glued to the window because that allows her to keep tabs on her boyfrand & this 12 year old Mashal is disappointed at one rishta getting wasted is really making all of them look like desperados!
So, Hashir has proved that he cares for Mashal & now after what he has heard where Mashal was yet again complaining to her friend, Hashir will go out of the way to do something nice for her & she will take this as an opportunity to think about ‘un’ yet again. I like how everyone tells Mashal that Hashir is her bhai but she has developed feelings for him, oh well, let’s ask Hashir what did he mix in those 2 scoops of ice-cream that Masoom Mashal ended up falling in Aflatooni Mohabbat for him? LOL!
Closing Thoughts – Aflatooni Cliched:
This episode of Jo Tu Chahay was Aflatooni One-dimensional. I guess the story overall of this drama is quite aflatooni cliched but let’s see if there’s something more to it than cousins longing for each other? *cringe alert*. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Jo Tu Chahay.

This episode of Khaas also showed how Saba was getting pressurized by her family & everyone was of the opinion that Saba was in the wrong.
Saba Is Done With Ammar:
Ammar once again made it all about Saba, in front of his own parents & Saba’s parents too. Ammar is manipulative but more than that he is very smart. This one has to be given to Ammar that he knows how to deal with people the way they like to be dealt with, but that too only when he feels that the other person won’t ever question his image or judgment. With Saba, Ammar couldn’t do that because he learnt it in the initial days of their marriage that Saba was not smitten by him as much as he wanted to, plus she was not someone who’d buy the lies that Ammar told her. Saba demanded respect & Ammar could not give that to her. For Ammar, the thing that triggered him against Saba the most was the fact that Saba could see through him & not only that, she’d call him out on those things too. Anyhow, Ammar let Saba’s father Faraz know for the very last time that he was thinking of divorcing Saba, not because he wanted to, but only because this is what Saba wanted. Ammar has once again played his cards well. Ammar knows that Faraz trusts him more than he trusts his own daughter Saba, that is why for the very last time, he yet again planted a seed of doubt in Faraz’s heart against Saba & walked away scot-free!
Saba’s sister Samreen & her husband depicted the usual & typical first reaction family members have towards their sister or daughter getting divorced. They all held Saba responsible, not for her failing marriage but also for Faraz’s condition too. Saba’s sister did try to hide everything but then her husband couldn’t stop judging Saba & her character. It was like he got an excuse to blame his wife & her entire family for what was happening because he was kind of tired listening to the stories based on assumptions about the ideal couple both Saba & Ammar were, plus the picture perfect life that they were leading together.
Saba spoke to Ammar for the last time & more than that, she got to give him a piece of her mind too. Saba also got to see who was the girl Ammar was getting married to & she could totally see that this marriage between the two was going to be a disaster. Ammar could not see Saba in her eyes, as he himself knows that he is wrong but is just getting away with everything by using her as a scapegoat because Saba is not as clever or manipulative as Ammar is. Ammar thinks things will work out for him but he has no idea what he is going to get into.
On Ammar’s family side, it was nice to see Farah’s husband being the only voice of reason. At least he was honest enough to let everyone know that Saba couldn’t be this wrong & she could not do something as horrendous as cheating on her husband. Even Ammar’s father Saud was kind of trying to connect the dots that may be because Ammar wanted to get married to Salma (something that Saba was accusing him of), he created this entire scenario to get rid of Saba, but then again, no one in the family can doubt Ammar because the ladies such as Kanwal & Ammar’s pupho are fully convinced that Ammar is infallible & that he is victim in this situation because his marriage fell apart. I am keen to see the reality that Salma will show to everyone in this family. Javeria wanted to help Saba but her hands were tied & even then Saba understood her awkward position but still she hoped that Javeria would at least once speak to her parents to let them know that Saba was with her & not with Fakhir.
Closing Thoughts – Simple Story Executed Brilliantly:
I am glad that the story has moved forward & that Ammar is going to free Saba from this cage. I obviously don’t have a lot of expectations from Faraz, but for once, it would be nice to see him at least believing his own daughter & not a guy like Ammar who has only lied to him blatantly, time & again. It is interesting to see how simple story has been executed with so much complexity & that there is so much depth & dimension in every single situation. Khaas surely is a very unique & interesting drama to tune to & it is amazing to see that it is still going strong. I must say, Ali Rehman has given Ammar’s character a perfect treatment & I don’t think any other actor could’ve done justice to this twisted character the way he has. Ali Rehman has made Ammar’s character very convincing. Hira Tareen is perfect as Salma, someone who is totally selfish & self-centered. Sanam Baloch, Haroon Shahid & all the other supporting actors have done a great job too. I think the credit definitely goes to the director Danish Nawaz for extracting this kind of acting from all the actors & giving these characters & their personalities so much clarity on-screen. Live shows can sometimes bring out the most unexpected aspects of people’s personalities. Waseem Badami nowadays is known more for his bouncers and Googlys on his talk show than anything else. His hard-hitting questions most often take his guests by surprise but Sajid Hassan was definitely not one of those guests on his show.
Waseem Badami took Sajid Hassan’s permission before asking one such question about the condition of his hair since almost a year back, Sajid Hassan’s video went viral in which he warned people against a doctor who did not know how to do a hair transplant but he was practicing and there was no one who could question him.
Waseem Badami most certainly was not expecting to get the kind of response he got when he asked the question. Sajid Hassan was angry and blunt. He said that no one bothered asking him how he was doing when he was fighting for his life.
Sajid Hassan said that the fact was that when people like Waseem Badami wanted to invite a guest, they get in contact with celebrities otherwise no one really looks out for anyone in the industry. Sajid Hassan also said that there are some groups of celebrities who look out for each other, otherwise everyone is on their own.
Waseem Badami tried to ignore these comments as a joke but Sajid Hassan made it clear that he was not joking. Sajid Hassan verbally abused Waseem Badami for asking an inappropriate question and for not bothering to even visit him when he was going through hell. The channel had to censor some of the words he said.
My initial reactions – is it a 6th September special? Is it a telefilm or is it a movie?! Oh wow! It is a serial!! Yes! Because this time around HUM did not promote a drama with a star cast the way it usually does, the reason being that Ehd-e-Wafa isn’t just an MD productions project but after a long time ISPR has co-produced a television play. After watching the refreshing promos of Ehd-e-Wafa all the viewers out there who have watched Sunehery Din and Alpha Bravo Charlie must have been reminded of the time when dramas focused on much more than marital abuse, jealousy and extra marital affairs.
A Nice Surprise
Usually when a drama like Ehd-e-Wafa is in the pipeline, the production houses and the cast members start promoting the drama sometimes years before it goes on air – Alif and Aangan are recent examples of such hyped up promotions. This time around, the viewers were introduced to Ehd-e-Wafa for the first time through the promos which is definitely the reason why the first impressions and the overall excitement is far more than that of a drama which you see too much of on social media even before it goes on air. It also goes to show that the makers of the drama are quiet certain that their final product is enough to grab the attention of the viewers. There was news that a drama like Alpha Bravo Charlie was in the pipeline but even now we have not seen the team of the drama going all out to promote it, I hope that it stays this way so that we can all watch the drama, make our own interpretations and enjoy the journey.
Refreshing & Visually Delightful Promos
I have to admit that after Aangan, I have a difficult time getting too excited about any drama at all but Ehd-e-Wafa is definitely an exception since its main attraction isn’t the star cast but the subject of the play, its storyline. It has been well established in the recent past that even a good writer like Mustafa Afridi can mess up and a star cast most certainly does not guarantee a drama which will entertain and entice. Saife Hassan is an ace director who knows his craft too well therefore I am glad, he is the captain of this ship. A fresh pairing is always welcome as well, Sajal and Ahad are the most sought after on-screen couple but it is good to see that the makers of this drama want people to enjoy the bond of friendship and the journey of these friends instead of focusing wholly on a love story.
The viewers can already relate to the quirkiness of these 4 gang members played by Ahad Raza Mir, Ahmed Ali Akbar, Wahaj Ali and Osman Khalid Butt. The promos also guarantee that Ehd-e-Wafa will be beautifully shot, from the locations to the overall setting of each scene, everything looks perfect so far.
The Humor
The jokes in the promos are crisp and relevant – the ‘how is the tea, fantastic sir.” – being my favorite from the promos. “kuttay bano insan na bano.” is another joke which is quite amusing. The humorous element of an otherwise emotional series is the main attraction of all ISPR productions which keeps these dramas from becoming too serious and makes the characters and their journeys even more relatable. The one liners with the promos like “Join the arduous journey of soldiers who defeat their enemies and indulge them with the “fantastic cup of tea” have ISPR written all over them. These witty one liners and the scenes covering the journey of Ahad’s character in particular show that Ehd-e-Wafa is going to be an entertaining journey.
Final Remarks

So far, the promos have focused on the ‘gang’, showing their journey from college to the academy. Ahad Raza Mir’s scenes and character in the 3 promos which have been released has been more prominent than others. His look for the academy and his love life has been covered in these 3 promos. The first promo focused more on Osman Khalid Butt as the leader of the gang. Osman Khalid Butt asked media to give equal credit to all the Ehd-e-Wafa boys but the 2nd and 3rd promos clearly focus more on Ahad Raza Mir who looks ideal for the role. I am pretty sure all the actors playing the leading roles will do wonders but we clearly haven’t seen enough of all of them in the promos yet. The promos also suggest that just like other ISPR projects, some new faces perhaps from the armed forces will also be seen in the drama.
The overall execution of the drama seems to be exceptional, definitely something most of us were waiting to see for a long time now. Ahad Raza Mir, Ahmed Ali, Vaneezah Ahmed, Osman Khalid Butt, Zara Noor Abbas, Alizay Shah, Wahaj Ali, Faraz Yahya, Inam Siddiqui, Khalifa Sajeer Uddin, Syed Muhammad Ahmed, Mian Wassam Waheed, Ejaz Ahmed Niazi, Agha Muhammad Ali, Azeem Sajjad, Adnan Samad Khan, Naeema Naeem Butt, Anjum Habibi and others will be seen playing lead and supporting characters in Ehd-e-Wafa.
It isn’t very often that the promos of a drama win you over completely. I must say that I can’t wait to tune into Ehd-e-Wafa and I am hoping that the serial itself will be just as impressive as the promos.

“Until a few days ago, I was pregnant. For some reason, I gained a lot of weight really really quickly. What shocked me was how much I started getting fat-shamed. One lady said, ‘Lagta hai Lahore ki hawa lag gaye tumhain.’ Other women just told me bluntly that I had become a bit too “healthy”, she shared.
She further added, “Till now, I wasn’t ready to share that I was expecting a baby because my pregnancies have generally been precarious. Last week, I had a miscarriage. My doctor has now told me that that this time it was quite serious and that there had been a lot of internal bleeding. I took a day off to mourn but then went back to work because, well, what else can one do? And the day after I resumed work, someone again commented on how I was looking “extra healthy.”
“We need to stop fat-shaming other people. People who are overweight know they are overweight. Their weight gain may be for any number of reasons, some desirable and some not. In the name of revival of Pakistani Cinema, our actors have gotten a chance to showcase their talent on a whole new level. It takes a lot for an actor to make their presence felt on the big screen. This year, a lot of movies were released and all of them had a considerable number of dance performances given out by our top actors but as they released, the audience were not only left speechless, but felt underwhelmed too. Where it is nice to see our actors exploring different domains and not holding back, it is unfortunate that despite putting so much effort, they still end up making a point that the original is always better than a copied content, original being Indian dance numbers in this context.
In the last few years, we have seen some amazing performances from some of our actors too and it does prove that few of our actors do have that craft up their sleeves too, where others don’t. Let’s have a look at the actors who can and can not dance:
Actors Who Can Not Dance:
Bilal Ashraf:
The team of film Superstar left no stone unturned to promote this movie heavily, to the point where it became bothersome for the TV buffs seeing Bilal Ashraf and Mahira Khan again and again. Bilal Ashraf had a special song dedicated to his character in the movie titled ‘Dharak Bharak’, which was a total rip off of Ranveer Singh’s ‘Tattad Tattad’. Even though Bilal Ashraf did claim that he was going for the exact vibe, it then became too obvious that he was not only uncomfortable but totally underperformed as well. His body language was awkward and his dance moves were stiff and wrong. With every passing frame Bilal Ashraf proved how and why Pakistani actors lack those dance skills because it just does not come naturally to them. Bilal Ashraf thought he was doing the audience of Superstar a huge favor by showing his bare body but it proved that by the end of the day, size of clothes do not matter in a dance number, what matters the most is the dance itself. I’m glad Bilal Ashraf’s bubble has been burst.
Maya Ali:
Maya Ali’s song ‘Balma Bhagora’ from her movie ‘Paray Hut Love’ got a lot of attention too but for all the wrong reasons. Maya Ali was supposed to be the star of that song but Zara Noor Abbas beat her to it and stole the show. This song was not only criticised for the editing and lack of synchronization, but Maya Ali‘s dance overall was equally bad and brought a lot of criticism her way. Her lines were not clear and it was too obvious that she struggled while competing with the pace of the song because she left her steps incomplete and moved to the next one haphazardly. Once again, Maya Ali showed that dancing did not come naturally to her. Maya Ali did garner a lot of appreciation for her acting in the movie but when it came to her dance performance, she showed that she needed a lot more finessing and practice. In the song ‘Haye Dil Bechara’, Maya did dance well but then, she had slow and limited steps that didn’t requite a lot of work from her but when it comes to the actual song Balma Bhagora which was hyped up by the team, Maya Ali couldn’t prove herself. Once again, length of clothing does not matter if your dancing is not on point!

Kubra Khan:
Kubra Khan has made a name for herself in a very short span. Her overall screen presence has landed her a role (big or small) in quite a lot of movies from the big banners. However, Kubra Khan may act with some ease but when it comes to dancing, she makes it quite evident that she is stiff and is having a hard time dancing. In her recent song ‘Dharak Bharak’, where she was supposedly the ‘item girl’ in the song, her entire body movement was not in sync and even though she looked like a Diva, it was obvious that she put a lot of effort in looking beautiful on-screen but when it came to the actual dancing, she was uncomfortable and may be missed a lot of practice sessions and rehearsals. In those scenes where she had to be in physical contact with Bilal Ashraf, she seemed uncomfortable yet again. In Parwaz Hai Junoon, Kubra Khan had a small dancing sequence in the song ‘Naache Re’ even in that song she seemed stiff and her facial expressions were as if she was finding dance as hard as a duty!
Mawra Hocane:
Mawra Hocane is a confident actor and she has made a name for herself in the drama industry. Mawra Hocane explored different horizon and made her Pakistani debut with Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2. In the movie she was paired with Fahad Mustafa and they both had a dance number ‘Aya Lariye’ to perform on. Where Fahad Mustafa stole the show, Mawra Hocane seemed clueless and her dance moves were sloppy just like her body language. Mawra Hocane showed that she was not a confident dancer and she was having a very hard time carrying her own weight as well as the weight of her heavy dress that she was wearing in that song. Most of the time, Mawra Hocane was jumping like a jack which made me wonder may be this was again her confidence that was giving her this confidence that she can get away with this kind of sloppy dancing in a movie. I feel bad for those audience who had the misfortune of watching ‘this’ performance on a big screen. I am sure their eyes are still recovering from the traumatic experience.
Hareem Farooq:
Hareem Farooq is an effortless actor and she has that screen presence to carry herself as a lead in any film on a big screen but when it comes to dancing Hareem looks awkward. Hareem Farooq definitely puts in a lot of effort and looking at her dance does make you feel that she has rehearsed non-stop, may be so much that when the actual time came to shoot the songs, her muscles were sore and she couldn’t complete her lines. Hareem Farooq is a great actor and a confident performer, but she definitely is not an effortless dancer. Hareem has such a personality which can not go unnoticed, that is why her average dancing skills are hard to ignore too.
Actors Who Can Dance:
Fahad Mustafa:
Fahad Mustafa has been a part of the industry for a very long time. Fahad Mustafa is one such actor who has every secret of trade up his sleeve and that is why, no matter which domain he ventures into, he gives his 100% and convinces everyone why he is so deserving of the fame and name that he has achieved over a period of time. Fahad Mustafa makes his dance numbers a visual treat. He is a confident performer and more than that, he makes sure to do justice to the choreography that he has invested his time learning. If you pick any of the songs that Fahad Mustafa has danced in, you will see him outdoing himself every single time. Fahad Mustafa has surely proved that he is one of those few Pakistani actors who definitely know how to dance and make it seem like he is having a great time dancing on those songs.
Hania Amir:
Hania Amir has appeared in few movies in her comparatively shorter span in the industry but she has carved a name for herself and has achieved a lot of success due to her acting and beautiful appearance. Hania Amir has also proved that she can surely dance and effortlessly at that. In Parwaz Hai Junoon’s song ‘Naache Re’ Hania Amir’s dance moves seemed effortless and mesmerizing. She gave this song the right kind of treatment it deserved and she danced without holding back. Even though those dance moves were very subtle and didn’t require a lot of work, Hania Amir’s body language and overall demeanor was perfect in that song.
Mehwish Hayat:
Mehwish Hayat has been a part of the Pakistani Film Industry ever since its initial and struggling days. Mehwish Hayat has given a lot of dance performances in almost every movie that she has been a part of and she always has given convincing treatment to her dance numbers. Mehwish Hayat is one of those few actresses who are absolutely confident on big screen and know how to grab the attention of the viewers. Mehwish Hayat has danced on all kinds of songs varying from wedding songs to songs that are shot in clubs, but she has always proved how versatile she is when it comes to dancing. Mehwish is a phenomenal performer and she is exceptionally confident.
Sohai Ali Abro:
Sohai Ali Abro has also ventured into movies and is doing well for herself. As much as Sohai Ali Abro is selective in choosing her projects, she is the kind of actor who moulds herself completely in any character that is assigned to her. Sohai Ali Abro is such a performer who doesn’t hold back and she knows how to play with the camera. Sohai Ali Abro has proved that she can dance and beautifully at that too. In movies such as Jawani Phir Nahi Ani and Wrong Number, Sohai Ali Abro got a chance to showcase her acting as well as dancing skills and she showed what she is capable of. Sohai Ali Abro also knows how far to take it and that is why, she makes her dance performances visual treat and she makes herself look cute.

Mahira Khan:
When it comes to acting, Mahira Khan has attracted all kinds of opinions where people are always debating whether she is a convincing actor or not. As far as dancing is concerned, it is a done deal that Mahira Khan has proved her dancing prowess time and again. In every single movie that Mahira Khan stars in, she gets to showcase her dancing skills and she is someone who makes her dancing seem effortless and a treat to watch. Mahira Khan makes it look like dancing comes naturally to her and if she puts in a lot of effort in learning her choreography, she does justice to it on the big screen because the end result always looks like a fine work of art. Mahira Khan for sure is a very graceful and elegant dancer, which is why she has started doing special dance sequences in different movies and we are not complaining.
Ahmed Ali Butt:
Ahmed Ali Butt is an actor who is known for his comedy and comedic timing. Ahmed Ali Butt has carved a niche for himself and he does what he is good at. Even in all the movies that he has starred in, Ahmed Ali Butt didn’t hold back from dancing but then, being a versatile actor that he is, he always added his own twists to every dance move and the audience loved his performances. Ahmed Ali Butt doesn’t leave the comedic touch when he is dancing and that is why he always seems to be in his element even in the dance numbers. This is the reason why more than Urwa Hocane, Ahmed Ali Butt earned appreciation for his effortless dance moves in JPNA 2’s song ’24/7 Lak Hilna’.

Everybody needs personal space. Although celebrities are public figures, they work hard to entertain their fans but it does not mean they can interfere in their family time.
During an interview with Samina Peerzada, Minal Khan talked about the fans who bug into her personal life. She said that people don’t understand a little thing that we are here to enjoy and to spend quality time with our family and friends. Stop asking for pictures!
Minal said that she doesn’t like it when her fans start misbehaving with her for saying no to pictures. She further added that while shopping, some fans come, tap her shoulder and ask for pictures! Like what? Why are you touching me? Can’t you see I am buying something? But people don’t understand this. If you say no to them, they start talking rubbish.
There are some things that Minal wants to keep it personal and appreciate people who respect her privacy.
