An over-inflated ego (Anaa) ruins relationships and keeps people from accepting their true feelings for each other. It makes it difficult for even the most intelligent individuals to make the right choices and most importantly makes it impossible for people to forgive and move on. This drama serial so far has stayed true to its title and explores how ego destroys even the most valued relationships and keeps people from loving each other. Everyone has an ego but some people hold their ego dearer than everything else and that is when things take a turn for the worse. With the exception of a few characters, most of the characters in this drama have been shown making the most important decisions of their lives in anger because of which generations have suffered.
Anaa isn’t just a love story but it explores relationships in general which are rather complex. The best thing about this play is that all the tracks are interesting in their own way. The drama overall has been thoroughly entertaining throughout. The fresh casting and the overall treatment given to a script which is rather simple, makes this drama one of the most engaging shows on air right now.
The Characters
The story revolves around the young characters but their decisions are largely influenced by the older lot and whatever happened in the past. Daneen’s character, played convincingly and effortlessly by Hania Aamir, is a young girl who is constantly pressurized by her Dadi sahab (Seemi Raheel) to follow the norms of the Nawab family. The softhearted and open-minded Dada sahab (Irfan Khoosat) protects Daneen and her father (Raju Jamil) is equally flexible.
The viewers who are watching the show must be acquainted with the backstory and the reasons why Dadi sahiba dislikes Daneen so much. Dadi Sahiba and her son (Shamil Khan) hold on to past grudges and play the samaj ki dewar in this love story. Daneen and Areesh’s (Shehzad Sheikh) relationship has gone through many changes in these seven episodes. What started off as playful romance became a heartbreak story really soon. The writer has convincingly shown how two young people who are in love can sometimes make impulsive decisions which they regret later. Daneen and Areesh love each other but they end up getting married to people who they never even thought of being with. These decisions which were made in anger and haste changed the entire course of the story. Daneen’s phupo Nazia (Tara Mehmood) is another person who no longer wants to sit back and watch Dadi have her way. In the latest episode Daneen was seen taking instructions from Nazia because she too does not want to see Areesh or his family happy.
Ezza (Naimal Khawar) is nothing like her cousin Daneen, she is mature, intelligent and calculated. Ezza is always the voice of reason but Daneen never listens to her. Altamesh played stylishly by Usman Mukhtar has been one of the most intriguing and appealing characters in this show. His relationship with Aania (Areeba Alvi) is one of the most heartwarming elements of this drama. Altamesh’s character is layered and different. Daneen and Altamesh are the main reasons why this drama has kept me hooked for so many weeks. Ezza and Altamesh’s love-hate relationship can sometimes be difficult to relate to perhaps because these actors share such amazing on-screen chemistry and have made-for-each-other written all over them.
Overall Impression
Anaa has a great deal going for it and even though the story isn’t entirely brand new but some of the tracks and characters are refreshing as well as relatable. The variety of characters also adds to its overall appeal. The performances and the overall treatment given to this show gives it the edge it needed to stand out from the crowd. Hania Aamir’s make-up in particular is cakey but her performance has been remarkable. I love the OST, it is catchy and cheerful. Even though the story in general is not a ‘happy’ one but the drama does not have a somber feel. I hope that this drama continues to be entertaining and fast paced.

Tonight’s episode of Aangan covered Jamil ‘bhaiya’s’ transition, Alia falling in love with Jamil and more of Chammi’s madness. Chammi’s scenes tonight provided much-needed comic relief. Sajal Aly completely owns this character; her expressions tonight were hilarious. Chammi and Jamil were hardly seen together in this episode because the focus was entirely on Alia and Jamil. Chammi distanced herself from Alia completely because she knew that Jamil had fallen in love with her and she was also pretty sure that sooner or later Alia will fall for Jamil too. Although Chammi is the only ‘jahil’ one in this Aangan yet she was able to predict something no one else saw coming.
The Love Triangle
While in the previous few episodes Chammi always made sure she made Alia uncomfortable whenever she was with Jamil, in this episode Chammi was completely out of the picture. Does Chammi really have another man in her life or the screenplay yet again is confusing? I am waiting to find out. I still remember the scene few weeks back which clearly suggested that Alia was falling for Jamil but it took her quite a while to actually fall for him. There have been so many instances when the writer has failed to keep all the characters in the picture which disrupts the flow of the story. Israr’s character has been completely useless, he hardly makes an appearance – it would have been better if some of Kariman Bua’s screen time was given to him since he also lives in the same house.
Alia’s feelings for Jamil were covered in the most filmy way possible. After cursing Jamil and telling him to go to hell multiple times, Alia fell for the man who she knew Chammi loved. Mawra Hocane looked beautiful in all the scenes but Alia’s character does not have much to offer. There are times when she comes across as a hypocrite. Chammi’s new ‘love interest’ seems like a figment of her imagination so far. Whether he is or he isn’t, the fact that there wasn’t a single scene covering Chammi and Jamil’s relationship after he came back was really odd. They are still living in the same house and Chammi couldn’t possibly have fallen out of love this soon so one can only wonder why Chammi never mer Jamil even once. Chammi’s outburst and the way she went out looking for the newspaper was amusing. Jamil’s mother’s frustration was relatable and by the end of this episode it seemed like Jamil was finally doing something constructive with his life. Alia loves Jamil but cannot show it. Everyone who has read the novel predicted that Alia will not fall for Jamil but now Jamil and Alia are an actual couple and Chammi has been relegated to the background.
Overall Impression
Aangan has always been a drama with very few ‘happy moments’ since the plot banks heavily on tragedies and romantic tracks. With this episode the story finally moved forward but the preview of the next episode suggested that the upcoming episode will once again cover Alia’s confusion and Jamil’s frustration. Chammi is a playful character with some depth as well, you understand why she is so fierce and rebellious. Mawra Hocane and Ahad Raza Mir look good on screen but their track clearly lacks depth and is repetitive like every other aspect of this drama. Tonight’s episode had a few surprises and overall this episode was slightly better than the previous few. It was especially good to see Jamil’s transition, I was expecting him to be an even bigger disappointment in the absence of his father but that was not the case. Chammi’s feelings regarding Jamil were not covered at all tonight except for the newspaper scene. This episode had quite a few filmy scenes to its credit which reminded me of Salma’s track and interrupted the flow of the story which is already not smooth. There are times when you feel that in an attempt to make this drama grand and novel the makers have made a complete mess and lost track. Sajal Aly was the star of the show tonight, she made this episode entertaining with her enjoyable performance.

In any drama industry, it is very important for a drama-actor to stay consistent and choose their projects wisely in order to stay on top of their game. There are quite a lot of factors that deter the stars from maintaining their position and as time progresses they lose their charm and fan following. Not choosing good scripts, appearing in every other drama which has no substance, not improving in terms of acting are the main factors which have a negative impact on the actor’s career and as a result, they stop appealing to the drama viewers.

He made a really terrible choice by playing the lead in the serial Romeo Weds Heer. The Khaani producers wanted to cash in on Khaani’s success by casting Sana Javed and Feroze Khan in another project which was completely different from Khaani. Romeo Weds Heer turned out to be a bad attempt at comedy, nothing more and nothing less.
Although Feroze announced that he was bidding farewell to showbiz, he definitely lost his charm with the choice of projects he was a part of before retiring from showbiz. Ishqiya is his current drama serial in which his character and acting both are highly disappointing. He will be playing a leading role in Khuda Aur Mohabbat 3 but the viewers don’t have a reason to look forward to it considering the bad choices he has made in the recent past.
Sanam Jung
Sanam Jung made a comeback on television after such a long time yet the project she chose to work in was so pathetic that it is difficult to understand just what was going through her mind when she accepted such a pathetic play. Mein Na Janoo was the worst drama of the year, not only this, the character Sanam played, and the way she acted made many wonder if she would ever be seen in a good drama again.
Clearly, all those years of hosting talk shows took a toll on Sanam Jung and she failed to make the right choice. Now she is back to hosting Ramazan transmissions. Many fans were looking forward to Sanam’s comeback but now she has lost her charm. The viewers have no reason to look forward to whatever she has in store next. Sanam Jung had worked in some really good dramas before moving on to morning show hosting. That was the reason why most people expected her to make better choices.
No one is holding their breath, waiting for Sanam’s next drama thanks to the worst choice she made to make a comeback.
Adeel Hussein
Adeel Hussein has only worked in a few dramas but he had managed to make a reputation for himself due to his good choices and great acting skills. When he decided to work in dramas again, no one could have guessed that instead of impressing his viewers, he will end up losing the charm he had. Adeel Hussein’s character in drama serial Daasi and the drama itself turned out to be below average.
The trust fans and followers had on Adeel Hussein is gone after this comeback drama. This definitely implied that he is not taking acting too seriously. Watching his unimpressive performance in the drama it was difficult to understand why he couldn’t perform well. His character itself was a caricature and his disappointing performance made it worse.
Imran Abbas
There is no denying the fact that Imran Abbas is a phenomenal actor but lately, he has been part of some of the most mediocre dramas. Although Imran Abbas and Ayeza Khan make a great on-screen couple, their choice of projects certainly isn’t impressive. Imran Abbas is seen on-screen constantly but his projects most often are all the same. Thora Sa Haq has to be his worst drama to date.
Imran Abbas has been playing the nakam ashiq for the longest time but Zamin from Thora Sa Haq is a completely different story altogether. Imran needs to know his worth and stop being part of every other drama. The story of the drama and Imran Abbas’ character is getting more ridiculous with every passing episode. Jo Tu Chahyeh is another drama starring Imran Abbas which has turned into a drag fest. His make-up seems to be going from bad to worse with every passing year. Imran Abbas really needs to rethink his choices and even his on-screen persona. The viewers expect better from an experienced actor like Imran Abbas.
Sanam Baloch
Sanam Baloch was a huge star of our industry when she focused only on dramas. She has given so many super hit dramas and there was a time that it used to a done deal that if a drama stars Sanam Baloch, then it is bound to be amazing. This was the reason that all of her loyal fans were ecstatic when she announced her come back because they all expected something beyond brilliant along with Sanam Baloch’s spell-binding acting but we got Teri Raza instead. A drama based on a twisted character who resorted to Halala over love.
The fact that Teri Raza not only had a weak script, everything about it spelled disaster with a capital D. Sanam Baloch not only looked aged, in the initial episodes she also made it too obvious that morning show hosting had badly affected her acting skills and she was clearly struggling to even convey basic emotions on-screen which used to be a piece of cake for her back in the day. As the drama progressed, Sanam Baloch did come out of her hosting mode but there was nothing special about this drama, which made us wonder why she chose a disastrous drama like Teri Raza as her come-back project.
Sanam Baloch’s next drama Khaas was definitely a success but Sanam’s voice quality had deteriorated greatly, something which the fans noticed instantly. It would be safe to say that gone are the days when Sanam Baloch used to be the best thing about the projects she worked in. Even with the success of Khaas, Sanam did not manage to make the kind of comeback that an actor like her should have made. There was a time when Sanam Baloch was a part of every good drama, that is definitely not the case anymore.
Shehroz Sabzwari
Shehroz Sabzwari got a strong start to his career because his initial dramas did really well and were a launchpad to an amazing career but his choices were nothing short of a nosedive and ever since, we are waiting to see him in something phenomenal but looks like we’ll have to wait for quite some time. Shehroz Sabzwari has struggled with finding a good script where he can showcase his talent and it seems that he has settled for mediocre dramas that are suitable for 7 or 9 PM slots.
Shehroz Sabzwari has not appeared in any such primetime drama which was a super hit. Shehroz Sabzwari has done quite a lot of work but unfortunately, none of that has left an impact. He also tried exploring the silver screen but even that was a disaster too, maybe this is not meant for him and we feel for him. He has sadly been typecast to the extreme after viewers liked his acting in Mana Ka Gharana. Whether it was Hasad or now Dil Ruba, Shehroz Sabzwari plays the bechara in every other drama.
Ali Rehman
Ali Rehman’s initial drama Rishte Kuch Adhoore Se garnered a lot of viewership due to its controversial plot. His second project Mohabbat Abb Nahi Hogi was also a super hit that was liked by masses. He then got a chance to appear in the biggest hit of the year Diyar e Dil and he did really well but looks like after Diyar e Dil, he couldn’t find a project that would wow the viewers. Ever since Ali Rehman has done some films but when it comes to dramas, he has appeared in one mediocre drama after another and that is why it somehow seems to be a done deal that if Ali Rehman is starring in any drama, it is bound to be average. Probably this is why we don’t have much hope with his upcoming drama Khaas but here’s to hoping that it might impress us.
Ali Rehman nailed his character in Khaas without a doubt but he continued playing similar roles in his upcoming dramas as well. Surely the viewers expected more from someone who was off to such a good career. Ali Rehman even after all these years has not managed to gain the kind of popularity that makes viewers tune in to dramas because of his presence in them.
Sanam Saeed
Sanam Saeed’s name in the cast of any drama used to act as a stamp of excellence but not anymore. Sanam Saeed appeared in one amazing and super hit drama after another where she effortlessly played such strong and substantial roles. Her raw and realistic approach towards her characters used to set her apart from her contemporaries and made the viewers feel and relate to her characters easily. Sanam Saeed did take a break but after coming back, she really has lost that drive, that charm which she used to have.
It now seems that Sanam Saeed doesn’t care much about the scripts and signs her projects as soon as she sees that they guarantee a paid-holiday. Dil Banjara was one example where her character was boring and didn’t have much going for it but hey, she went to Nepal. Now she is seen in drama serial Deedan and is using lightest foundation shade to make herself look like a Pukhtoon woman and again, a paid holiday up-North is any traveler’s dream. In Deedan, Resham was going through hell but her hair and makeup made it look as if she was ready to take over the ramp and walk for a fashion week as a show-stopper.
Sanam Saeed always kept her characters raw and real which was actually her strength but not anymore and we can’t emphasize enough that this new revamped image of hers is not doing wonders, at all.
Sarah Khan
Sarah Khan’s performance in dramas like Alvida, Yaar-e-Bewafa, Nazr-e-Bad, Mohabbat Aag Si, Mohabbat.pk, and Bela Pur Ki Dayan won her acceptance and recognition. The viewers expected more from her because Sarah Khan established herself as a serious performer by being part of quality projects and she gave quite a few solid performances back-to-back. Unfortunately, just when the viewers expected even more versatility from Sarah Khan, she was continuously seen playing the role of the bechari aurat in every other drama. Her roles did not offer variety and she was clearly being typecast.
Most of the viewers started taking Agha Ali more seriously as an actor when he starred in plays like Digest Writer and Tum Yaad Aye. He was especially impressive in drama serial Tum Yaad Aye since he translated his character brilliantly on screen. After this play, the viewers were eagerly waiting to see Agha Ali on screen again but with Andaz-e-Sitam everything changed. After this play, Agha Ali was seen playing negative and shallow characters in all the drama serials that followed.
Even when he was seen playing such roles in dramas like Mere Bewafa and Band Khirkiyan, he failed to do justice to his characters. It won’t be wrong to say that Agha Ali’s performances in the recent past have been monotonous and disappointing. The fact that Agha Ali has been concentrating more on his looks than his acting is a little too obvious lately. He is a talented individual who is surely capable of doing better, therefore, we hope that he will choose his projects more wisely in the future.
Hina Altaf
Aik Thi Misaal was the first drama in which Hina Altaf was seen playing a meaty role. She did complete justice to her character and made the viewers feel for the girl who felt lost and abandoned. In drama serial Abroo and Udaari too Hina Altaf’s character was liked by the viewers. While losing weight and finding a new direction might have changed the course of Hina Altaf’s life otherwise, it definitely did not change the path of her career for good since she is now seen concentrating more on glamorous roles.
Even when Hina’s character in Aatish was going through the worst phase, the make-up was always on point. Hina Altaf shared in an interview that she wanted to be part of challenging projects but right now her projects have been more commercial than challenging. We are waiting to see Hina Altaf play a role that is memorable as well as demanding. Hina Altaf has failed to establish herself as an actor who makes you want to watch their plays.
Faisal Rehman
Faisal Rehman is immensely talented and he is one of those very few actors who have been associated with the television industry for decades. Faisal Rehman has tons to offer yet he constantly chooses to be part of projects which offer no variation. There have been so many dramas in which he has been seen playing the role of a thankless, unfaithful, and bitter husband.

Ohkay so, this episode of Do Bol was super sweet. The fact that everything has been conveyed in simplest manner makes this drama a treat to tune to. There’s nothing overly dramatic or unrealistic about the story, in fact it just simply shows how two individuals who are poles apart are struggling in their orbits. The thing that is the most appealing about Do Bol to me has to be the simple treatment that this drama has got.
Badar Walking An Extra Mile For Gaiti:
Badar decided to go ahead & give Gaiti what she wanted; an outlet, a freedom to go where she wanted. Even though Badar doesn’t want to leave Gaiti but he has seen how unhappy she has been, therefore he doesn’t think it is sensible to prevent her or talk her out of what she has set her mind to. Gaiti continued to learn more & more about Badar’s household & his family, even though she has stayed unaffected & hasn’t involved herself in any of their matters, but still she is not unaware of what is happening around her. Gaiti can clearly see that Rania is not happy with her, that is why she tried finding the reason behind it too.
This episode once again highlighted how despite being calm & collected, Badar kept on losing patience with Gaiti. Just like Gaiti has her own set of struggles, Badar has it too. Gaiti is only thinking about her own issues but when it comes to Badar, he is not only aware of how miserable Gaiti is, he is aware of the fact that Gaiti is feeling that way because of him & that makes him even more guilty. Gaiti’s bitterness & her behaviour constantly remind Badar that he is no match to her & she deserves something/someone better, may be that is why despite not wanting to he finds it in his heart to let go off her.
Gaiti & Badar travelled together, all the way to Karachi to meet Jahan Ara, only to find out that she was not in Pakistan. Badar saved Gaiti & made sure she was well-fed & well-rested. Probably this little time spent together made Gaiti feel a little comfortable around Badar & also forced her to have some empathy for him. Gaiti could see that Badar was going out of the way to make sure she gets what she wants but then she was so focused on getting in touch with her mother that she couldn’t give a thought to how Badar was feeling & what he was going through.
In this episode of Do Bol, what I loved the most was how Badar kept on sharing his feelings with Gaiti & even though he knew she didn’t want to hear all of that, he kept on telling her what she meant to him. Badar told her that he loved her, that he was heartbroken because she was leaving & also how he dreamt of giving her a comfortable house & life. It was all very sweet. For Gaiti this relationship does not mean anything for now, but her hesitance did show that she was kind of feeling awkward for what she was putting Badar through. May be she has started feeling some compassion for him after seeing how nice & genteel he is.
Iqbal got to see Gaiti with Badar & for the first time, his emotions were given coverage. Previously it was always anger & fury that Iqbal had for Gaiti but for the first time he was disturbed like a father should be for his daughter who is not living in a favourable condition. Nafeesa continued making efforts to get in touch with Gaiti but she knew that Gaiti was still upset & she wouldn’t talk. Nafeesa has spent a good chunk of her life with Gaiti therefore she knows her too well, that is why she didn’t really mind when Gaiti refused to come on the phone. Fareeha made sure that Sameer forgets about Gaiti, that is why she kept on lying to him about Gaiti & her character. Since this entire scenario is done & dusted, I won’t be too surprised if Sameer moves on because that’s the only option left but yes, it is unfortunate that he is being lied to so that he forgets Gaiti.
Firdous saw that Iqbal was upset because of Gaiti, like she could see that he was kind of feeling bad for her, that is why she created an entire scene against Neelam going to college, that way she landed herself a chance to rub Gaiti’s wrongdoing on Iqbal’s face, so that he snaps out of any sympathy that he might have felt for her. This is what Firdous had done in the past by using Jahan Ara’s name & now she replaced her with Gaiti. I really liked how Nasreen took a stand for Neelam & gave Firdous a piece of her mind. She is not as helpless as Nafeesa plus she knows that even if her husband Munawwar listens to his siblings, she is not bound to especially in the matters concerning her daughter.
Closing Thoughts – Sweet Drama:
Overall, this episode of Do Bol was simple & sweet. It sure is turning out to be a very nice drama to tune to. The preview of the next episode did show the change in Badar & Gaiti’s equation plus an entry of the villain Jamshed who happens to be Badar’s cousin & that is definitely going to spice things up. The direction of Do Bol as well as the acting of all the actors has been superb. Still loving the usage of the OST. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Do Bol.

We are all hooked to Ranjha Ranjha Kardi and it is a must-watch for everyone these days, all thanks to a unique storyline and some very strong performances in the play. One relationship that has stood out for many viewers is the bond between Bhola and his mother. Bhola and Amma are really cute together and Asma Abbas and Imran Ashraf have outdone themselves to make it look extremely on-point and relatable.
Imran Ashraf is recently blessed with a baby boy and how was it possible that his reel life Amma did not come to visit the new arrival. So, Asma Abbas visited Imran Ashraf’s newborn baby boy and it was a sight to see as reel life Amma and Bhola bonded with the real-life baby boy. It is a beautiful moment for the fans to see them together in real life and it is always great to see co-stars getting along well like family:
Tonight’s episode of Inkaar was the best one so far because it had quite a few pleasant surprises. Most of the speculations regarding Shayan’s character proved to be wrong since he is as nice and genuine as he appears to be.
Hopelessly In Love
Shayan’s love for Hajra, the way he accepted Hajra wholeheartedly even after he found out about her past and everything he did to win her over made Shayan yet another leading character played by Sami Khan which is bound to be memorable. Although I wasn’t too excited about watching Sami Khan play this role, I am more convinced than ever today that he is going to be extremely likable as Shayan. Hajra’s scenes once again were the highlight of this episode. Yumna Zaidi completely stole the show with her brilliant performance. Hajra’s scenes were well written because the writer gradually showed how she fell in love with Shayan even though few days back she couldn’t bear to be around him. Shayan’s declaration of love came as a complete surprise to Hajra since she was expecting him to rethink his decision once she shared why she stopped going to college. After that Shayan never stopped surprising her.
All these scenes were intelligently penned down and translated on screen equally well. One of my favorite scenes tonight was the one when Hajra comes back home from the school and asks Jawad if Shayan had hit him that day. Her body language, expressions and her dialogues clearly suggested that she was head over heels in love with this man. Hajra’s feelings were covered in a convincing manner tonight which made it easier for the viewers to connect to her character. Hafiz Sahab’s conversation with her daughter was meaningful as well as relevant. Apart from highlighting the hypocrisy which is so rampant in our society, it also highlighted the reasons why even a father like him succumbed to pressure. Hajra’s relationship with her father has always been heart-warming but this scene explored this relationship more than any other yet. Hafiz sahab’s confession came at a time when Hajra was already in love with Shayan therefore the timing was perfect too. The last scene which covered Rehan Chaudhry’s rage gave me goosebumps. He is not going to sit back and let Hajra get on with her life. This man is vile and the preview of the next episode clearly showed that he will get in touch not only with Hajra but also Shayyan. Imran Ashraf’s powerful performance in this scene said a great deal about his character. Definitely waiting to see more of him in the upcoming episode because it does seem like Rehan will be playing a vital role in taking the plot forward from here on.
Overall Impression
Tonight’s episode was entertaining and it covered a great deal. Most of the scenes added something new to the story. The scene covering the staff room gossip however was yet again stretched and I couldn’t help but wonder why one of the teachers had a change of heart all of a sudden. The viewers saw a different side of Hajra’s mother tonight and Hajra too was relatively more honest with her. This was one of the best episodes of Inkaar so far. The story will get more interesting now that Rehan Chaudhry will be in the picture too. Will Rehan Chaudhry succeed in breaking up this engagement? Waiting to find out.

PS Sami Khan in a live session today informed his fans and followers that he has been quite unwell therefore he looks weak in this drama, he lost weight and obviously doesn’t look fresh enough due to the illness….something we all noticed. He is much better now, we wish him a complete and speedy recovery.
Lux Style Awards 2019 nominations are out and many people are unhappy with the nominations. Mohsin Abbas Haider has already spoken his mind and showed his disappointment on his show Meri Guriya not getting even a single nomination. People are pissed about Suno Chanda’s writer Saima Akram Chaudhary not getting a nomination. Producer Abdullah Seja has now also taken to Facebook and has asked the Jury about many projects who he thought should have been in the nominations lists.
He asked about Faysal Qureshi not getting a nomination for Haiwan and also Saheefa Jabbar Khattak not getting considered for her drama which had a powerful subject. Finally, he is also unhappy about the hit show Koi Chand Rkah not even getting a single nomination in the LSAs. This is what he had to say:
Many people are disappointed with the LSA nominations that have come out. People have complained that many deserving people and projects were snubbed by Jury and they have been asking questions that why they were not considered. Among all this, Ahmed Ai Butt has gotten the nomination for Best Actor in JPNA2. Ahmed’s character as Miana was loved by everyone who watched the movie and he got a lot of appreciation.
Well, many people started asking why Humayun wasn’t nominated to which Humayun Saeed has replied that Ahmed deserved the nomination more than anyone from the cast of JPNA 2. Mehwish Hayat is a huge star and she has gotten to this place by doing many hit projects and working hard for years. She just received Tamghae Imtiaz from the Government of Pakistan for her services to the promotion of Pakistani cinema. Mehwish Hayat visited the children and their caregivers at the Agha Khan University Hospital in Karachi and she had a great time with kids there. Ohkay so, the reason why I am posting this review late is because I couldn’t watch this episode of Cheekh in one go. Yes, this episode was decent but then again, I found it repetitive & quite hard to watch. Considering the amount of repetition & slow pace this drama has, I think it’s about time that the channel should start airing double episodes to keep the interest of the viewers in this show intact.
Mannat’s Character Was Being Assassinated:
In this episode of Cheekh, the main focus was again on everyone’s mental state & condition where some were trying to figure a way out & the others were only making sure that the truth remains untold. In this episode, there was a lot of emphasis on Mannat’s character assassination but then, those dialogues were repetitive to the point of being boring. Wajih’s character gets a lot of limelight considering he is the main culprit but then again, there’s nothing interesting or exciting about him because all he does is intimidate, lie, play the victim & repeat!
The only important little detail that was revealed in this episode of Cheekh was why Yawar was so emotionally attached to his siblings – that is because he does not have a child of his own therefore he treats his siblings as his kids & he has invested all of his energies in them, so much so that he doesn’t even feel the need to have a child of his own as well. I felt this was also the reason behind his disconnect with his wife Shehwar as he can not understand what she goes through. After that conversation between Shehwar & Yawar, it was kind of easy to understand why Yawar was being so over-protective of Wajih, he was acting like that father who makes sure his kids stay safe & unharmed, even if he knows that they are guilty. Yawar has totally forgotten that Wajih has killed Nayab, rather the only thing he wants is to make sure that Wajih doesn’t go to jail. Shehwar was presented with an opportunity to tell the truth but she chose not to say anything & that pretty much told Mannat that she was not going to find any support whatsoever from anyone in this household.
Shayan was confused & his brothers made sure to feed him the lies they had fabricated against Mannat, so that she leaves. Shayan was basically getting a chance to analyse both sides of the story but he still was not sure what to make out of it. He did see how Mannat was standing firm but then, the seed of doubt that was planted in his mind by both Wajih & Yawar made it even harder for him to blindly trust & support Mannat.
So, Wajih got a beating from his friend but he put an entire blame on Asad. I think Shayan’s decision must’ve come with a solid reason which I think is that Asad must’ve told Shayan to let Mannat go out of this environment which was only being toxic for her. I am sure Shayan must’ve told Mannat to go only because he does not want Wajih,Yawar, Haya & even the servants of the house to speak against Mannat. After getting to know Shayan so far, I feel this must be the reason why he told Mannat to leave – in order to protect her & keep her sanity intact.
Closing Thoughts – Repetitive & Stagnant:
This episode of Cheekh was alright but I guess the slow pace & repetitive scenarios are taking away the charm of the drama. Also, I think they should now move the story forward & show us the case & courts in stead of domestic politics & Mannat’s character assassination. After seeing the preview of the next episode, I am again not too sure what to expect nor am I excited because they ended the last episode on such an intense note that Shahwar overheard Wajih but in this episode, nothing much really happened. Yes, Shahwar must be doubting Wajih too she won’t say much I think till the last episode. Also, the most annoying aspect of this drama is that continuous Ho Ho Ho Ho soundtrack that keeps on playing in every single episode to showcase the sufferings of an oppressed party. I hope the editors stop using that because it is very annoying. Anyways, please share your thoughts about this episode of Cheekh.

Teefa In Trouble made a record opening and the film has not slowed since its release in July last year. Teefa In Trouble went on to become the biggest non-Eid release of the Pakistani cinema. Ali Zafar and Maya Ali both made their Lollywood debut with Teefa In Trouble and the action-comedy has been unstoppable. The film is still in cinemas after so many months and it just crossed the 50 Crore mark.

Tonight’s episode of Ranjha Ranjha Kardi was extremely enticing, fast-paced and brilliantly put together. This episode also had some of the most important developments as well as few of the best scenes we have seen so far. There are very few dramas which continue to be as engaging as this one even after so many weeks.
Important Scenes
Tonight’s episode opened with Noori thinking about her past while she held the keys which were handed over to her by Fehmida. This flashback scene truly was nostalgic and one of the most meaningful scenes we have seen in this drama. It was well written and brilliantly executed – perfect example of effective screenplay. Noori’s character has always been layered and this time around the viewers saw a different side of her character. For the first time Noori actually felt that she finally had everything she was running after all her life – a special status in the society and the respect that came with it. The fact that Noori never considered the wealth she had now but for her the respect she was getting was more important made this entire development refreshing. Fehmida’s ‘compensation’ definitely worked because it made Noori feel good about herself and her turbulent journey all of a sudden seemed worthwhile.
This happiness however was temporary because after the meeting with Sahir, Noori was faced with yet another conflict. The only man she had ever loved was back in her life and this time he wanted to ‘save’ her. Sahir reminded her of the shortcomings in her life – something she was quite aware of already but probably wanted to forget about for some time. After meeting Sahir, Noori went straight to the doctor which basically showed that she was still focused on her marriage and was not swayed away by Sahir’s charm just yet. The way Noori looked at Sahir when he and Komal came face to face suggested that she was jealous and angry.
Sahir’s first meeting with Bhola was also covered in a brilliant manner. Sahir was both shocked and disgusted. Bhola’s dialogues and the situations tonight were quite amusing. These scenes intelligently showed Bhola’s innocence as well as his possessiveness and insecurities. Sahir is more eager than ever to find out which medicines Nusrat is giving Bhola after listening to his conversation with the doctor. It remains to be seen what Sahir is going to go with the information he gets from his friend regarding these medicines. Noori was not shown thinking about the reasons why Nusrat never went to the same doctor and why he lied to her. She confronted him but even now she has no clue that Nusrat actually does not want Bhola to get well. Another important development in this episode was the chachi finding out where Ama Janate lived. Nusrat and his wife want to know more about Noori and the preview of the next episode suggested that they might get a lead. The flashback scene in the beginning also highlighted the fact that someone like Fehmida would never even allow a girl like Noori inside her kitchen.
Overall Impression
The story still has so much to offer and there are so many different possibilities. Sahir, Noori, Fehmida and Nusrat are few of the characters which will ultimately determine where the story goes from here. Fehmida will at some point find out about Noori’s background and she will feel cheated. The preview of the next episode suggested that Noori will once again start treating Bhola the same way she did in the beginning. There were many scenes in this episode which served so many different purposes and did so with precision. This episode was meaningful, emotional and thoroughly entertaining.
The screenplay and performances make Ranjha Ranjha Kardi one of the best dramas this year. Iqra Aziz is absolutely phenomenal as Noori, Imran Ashraf’s effortless portrayal of a character which must have been really challenging to translate on screen never fails to impress and Syed Jibran continues to be convincing. This is not an easy story to tell but everyone involved has given it their best. Tonight’s episode of Ranjha Ranjha Kardi was exceptional in every way possible.
Mehwish Hayat has just gotten the Tamgha e Imtiaz for her services to the film industry as well as her dramas and how she has represented Pakistan internationally. She has also gotten a lot of criticism from many people but she also got tons of wishes and praises from fans as well as from her friends in the industry.
So, one of Mehwish’s friend sent her a cake which was customised with a design of Tamgha e Imtiaz. This made Mehwish super excited and she shared the gift with her fans on her Instagram. Mehwish is sure getting a lot of praises too:

Suno Chanda was a huge hit when it aired in Ramadan. It was a refreshing story and people loved all the characters thus making it one of the biggest dramas of the season. Everyone wanted a season 2 of the play naturally and it is happening and Suno Chanda 2 will air this Ramadan. The shooting is underway already for the play and the cast seems to be having a lot of fun together.
