Mir Hadi and Khaani’s relationship throughout the drama has been the highlight of every episode. Although these two were never on good terms in the drama but there were times when they were happy with each other even through it was only in Haadi’s imagination!
Here are few of the most romantic scenes from drama serial Khaani.
2018 has so far proved a mixed year for the Pakistani cinema with few hit and miss films. The last major Urdu film of 2018 was Motorcycle Girl released almost two months ago on 20th April 2018. No Urdu film was released in May 2018 due to the holy Islamic Month of Ramazan. The two month long dry season will be over on upcoming Eidul Fitr 2017 where a handsome number of films are releasing. Eidul Fitr is the major festive occasion in our country followed by Eidul Azha. It is the time of joy, family reunion, outing, recreation and vacation. The long holidays of Eidul Fitr benefit the entertainment industry as well majorly cinemas and theaters. To utilize these holidays the big banner films are scheduled to release on Eid. Eidul Fitr has historically been the most successful time for the Pakistani cinema in an year. However from past one decade, Eidul Azha has overtaken the Eidul Fitr with respect to the business of local films. The major films which were once specific to Eidul Fitr are now shifted to Eidul Azha. The most significant reason is the direct competition with the Bollywood Eid film. Every Eidul Fitr some Khan starer Bollywood film gallops the bulk of the cinema shows and business. On 2015’s Eidul Fitr, Bollywood’s Bajrangi Bhaijan (BB) emerged blockbuster. Due to the enormous success of BB, many shows of the two Urdu films Bin Roye and Wrong No. also released on Eidul Fitr were shifted to BB. Though eventually Wrong No. and Bin Roye also proved successful but their business was impacted by BB. On 2016’s Eidul Fitr, Bollywood’s Sultan made many new records of collections like most earning in a single day, most earning on a weekend. The film earned around 34 crore and became the highest earning Bollywood film in the Pakistan. Two Urdu films Swaal 700 Crore Dollar Ka (SSCDA) and Blind Love were also due to release on Eidul Fitr in 2016. But due to unavailability of shows Blind Love was not released and the only film SSCDA struggled against Bollywood’s Sultan. The situation changed in 2017 as the government has not allowed the release of Bollywood Eid film Tubelight and hence no Bollywood film was released on Eidul Fitr 2017. This year Eidul Fitr will fall on 15th or 16th June 2018 Here is the summary of the films coming on Eidul Fitr. Hollywood Hollywood films are only released in the multiplexes having 3D screens. Hollywood films have their own dedicated audience. This Eidul Fitr only one Hollywood film Jurrasic World – Fallen Kingdom is releasing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vn9mMeWcgoM Bollywood: No release Like 2017, no Bollywood film is releasing on Eidul Fitr. In 2017, the government did not allow the release of Bollywoods’ Tubelight on the Eidul Fitr. There was no official statement on its release and it was expected to hit theaters after two weeks of Eid. However Tubelight‘s business was not as per expectations in India and the rest of world and consequently the film was not released in Pakistan even after Eidul Fitr. This year the Federal Government has defined the regulations of films releasing on Eid. As per the official notification released three weeks ago, no Bollywood film will be screened till after two weeks on both Eidul Fitr and Eidul Azha. However last week upon the pressure of Bollywood’s film distributors the government has reduced the ban to one week. The 2018 Bollywood’s Eid release is Race 3 which now will release in Pakistan on 22nd/23rd June 2018 one week after Eidul Fitr. Bollywood films have an all-seasons and all-weathered loyal audience in Pakistan across all sections of the society. Despite hostile aggression from India on borders Bollywood films earn huge in Pakistan from the posh areas multiplexes to crowded areas old single screen cinemas. The prime example of the bonding of the Bollywood fans in Pakistan is the business of 2016 Eidul Fitr’s release Sultan which earned a mammoth 34 crore in three weeks and became the highest earning Bollywood film in Pakistan to-date. Before its release filmi circles were predicting a possible low turn out for the film as Indian army butchered around 120 Kashmiris in the Indian held Kashmir within a week around Eidul Fitr while thousands of Kashmiris lost eye sight due to the use of the pallet guns by the Indian forces. Despite continued state terrorism and blood bath in Kashmir on Eidul Fitr 2016 by the Indian forces, Sultan received a massive response on Eidul Fitr in Pakistan. The film registered the largest ever opening weekend for any film by earning 7.5 crore in just four days again proving the massive appeal of Bollywood films in Pakistan. So even though Race3 will release one week after the Eidul Fitr, the film distributors are hopeful about its massive business. Urdu films Urdu is the national language spoken in all the regions of Pakistan and Urdu cinema is gradually recovering after its extinction in the last decade. In 2017 two Urdu films Yalghaar and Mehrunnisa V Lub U (MVLU) were released. In the absence of the Bollywood film both proved successful where Yalghaar earned 17-19 crore and MVLU earned 13 crore. The main business circuit of Urdu films is Sindh, Punjab and Islamabad Capital Territory. Urdu films have a limited release in the cantonment areas of Balochistan and KPK In the absence of any Bollywood film, four Urdu films were announced to be released on the Eidul Fitr 2018. All four films are of diverse genres providing ample choice to cine goers to choose one as per their choice. 7 Din Mohabbat In (سات دن محبت ان) Starring superstar Mahira Khan alongside her Ho Mann Jahan co-star Sheheryar Munawar, 7 Din Mohabbat In (7DMI) is all set to release on Eid ul Fitr. For almost five decades Punjabi cinema has proved to be the backbone of our cinema and film industry. The success of Punjabi films also provided a space for Urdu cinema to flourish. However after Urdu cinema, Punjabi film making has also been extinct till the end of last decade. Unlike Urdu cinema there has been no considerable effort to revive the Punjabi cinema. Every year very few Punjabi films of inferior quality are produced which hardly add any value towards the dysfunct Punjabi cinema. Three Punjabi films are expected to release on this Eid which are traditional gandasa films. The punjabi films will only release in the Punjab province. The name of the Punjabi films are Faisla Gujjar Da (فیصلہ گجر دا), Malik Bahadur (ملک بہادر) and Market (مارکیٹ). The trailers of the Punjabi films are not available online. Pashto Films Pashto is the second largest spoken language in Pakistan after Punjabi. Pashto cinema was the third most successful film circuit after Punjabi and Urdu films. Unlike Urdu and Punjabi cinema which faded a decade ago, Pashto cinema has survived well despite dismal situation of law and order in its circuit. Pashto cinema seldom gets the attention of the mainstream media, still Pashto films have successfully retained their viewership . Pashto cinema has its own dedicated circuit in the province of KPK, Balochistan (Quetta) and Sindh (Karachi only) where native Pashto speaker live in large numbers. Apart from Pakistan, Pashto films sometimes are also released in UAE (Dubai/Sharjah) and Afghanistan (Kabul). The leading artists of the Pashto cinema are Shahid Khan, Jahangir Jani, Arbaaz Khan and Ajab Gull. Four Pashto films are expected to release on this film namely Paidageer (پیدا گیر) , Ziddi O Badmash (ضدی او بدمعاش), Zandaan (زندان) and Kashar Khan Loafar Da (کشر خان لوفر دے). The trailer of all these Pashto films are available online, but here only one poster is added. So it sums up this compilation of the films coming on Eidul Fitr. All the four Urdu films of Eid are of diverse genre so hopefully we can find one of our choice. Wish all the readers a happy and prosperous Eidul Fitr. Keep supporting Pakistani cinema. Thanks for your time. Rashid Nazir Ali
Javed Sheikh, who has been ruling over the Pakistani film industry for decades, was approached to play Kareena’s father in the film which released last week and has been banned in Pakistan.
In an interview Javed Sheikh said that he was approached by Anil Kapoor’s office a year ago,
“I was approached by Anil Kapoor’s office over a year ago to play the role of Kareena’s father in the film,”
The veteran actor who has been seen in several Indian films shared that he held a meeting with the director and producer of the film and everything was finalised.
He continued adding that this was during the time Kareena was expecting her son, Taimur Ali Khan.
“My shooting dates had been set and my wardrobe was also ready. However, the shooting dates were changed as Kareena or the whole crew decided that it was difficult to shoot while she was expecting,”
He continued,
“However, by the time Kareena delivered her baby relations between Pakistan and India had worsened and the producers association there decided against casting Pakistani actors.”
Stating that Pakistani producers and exhibitors are casting Indian talent despite a ban on Pakistani talent across the border, Sheikh hoped Indian producers association would soon follow suit.

He further added,
“My relationship with YRF goes back to 2010 when I signed up for Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, followed by Kill Dill. I have some of my best memories and experiences on those films,”
He went on and said,
“But what is dreamlike is that the company he formed with so much love is now going to be spreading the same passion that we have tried to create in our first film to the entire world, making sure the film is seen globally. YRF will officially distribute the film in international markets. I can’t wait for the world to watch Teefa In Trouble!”

Load Wedding is one of the big movies coming out on Eid ul Adha. With only two months left for the release, Fahad Mustafa’s look for the movie is out and we will be seeing him with a moustache.
Many celebrities shared their two cents on Fahad’s look. Here are some of them:
Mehwish’s look is out too and she looks super desi for her avatar in load wedding:

A new drama serial is coming soon on ARY Digital. It will tackle the issue of child abuse in our society. Previously Mohsin Abbas Haider and Sonya Hussyn were known to be a part of such a project but the legendary actress Sania Saeed is playing the lead role as is evident from the promos. Sajid Hassan is also a part of the project. Meri Guriya looks like an intense journey as the teasers are now out. Here are the first looks:
Every episode of Zun Mureed is more convincing and poignant than the other. This is most certainly one of those dramas which only get better as the story progresses. There was a time when Fari’s character wasn’t very appealing but right now this character is the best thing about Zun Mureed. She isn’t only Tabbasum’s support but also the voice of reason amidst all the chaos. Fari’s character also helps the viewers understand Tabbasum’s circumstances. Her dialogues have been written beautifully and explain why Tabbasum is so upset and not in control any more. Tabbasum’s reaction to everything that has happened recently couldn’t have been shown more realistically. The convincing plot of this drama is one of the main reasons why it is one of my favorite plays right now. The writer has explained and shown everything from the character development to the mindset behind toxic masculinity in detail and with every episode the situations change in some way. In this episode the writer focused on the reasons why even strong women like Tabbasum ultimately think about giving up. In the past few episodes the viewers have been watching how Tabbasum turned from a woman undeterred to one who is now completely clueless! In this episode, the writer gave the reasons for it, after showing them all in detail in the previous few episodes and also showed the shift in Abid’s character!
Tabbasum’s bhabhi thought she was finally going to get rid of her nand and her kids therefore it is even more difficult for her now to accept the fact that Tabbasum might be living with them forever. Calling Abid and convincing him to be a “man” just like his brother in law seemed to be her last resort which surely worked! This change in Abid is going to affect Sajjad’s household a lot since Maryam has been the one running the house and Sajjad cannot possibly handle it all alone. Although most often Sajjad couldn’t care less about the children or his mother but he holds his own comfort very dear therefore there is a possibility that he might eventually accept Tabbasum. I was really looking forward to Tabbasum and Sidra’s meeting but that was not shown in this episode. This episode covered the next 24 hours of whatever the viewers were shown in the previous episode therefore that meeting will probably be covered next week when Tabbasum finally accepts what has happened and decides to take the first step forward after the socking developments which happened recently.
The children got plenty of screen time too in this episode. While the scenes covering Tabbasum’s children showed how they viewed this entire situation, Tabbasum’s nieces’ questions from their mother gave an insight into the kind of things they were inquisitive about. Tabbasum’s kids are missing school and they now have to worry about things they were not even concerned about when their mother was there. Tabbasum’s brother most often fails to take a stand for his sister but in this episode he did not listen to everything his wife had to say. Tonight’s episode had quite a few meaningful conversations to its credit. Like every other episode of Zun Mureed this one too was well-executed and meaningful.
Ghar Titli Ka Par is one of the most watched shows on television right now. Sanam Chaudhry and her character Anji in the play are two of the most important reasons why most people are watching this drama.
Sanam Baloch’s divorce came as a shock to everyone who follows and likes her. Sanam didn’t talk about this directly on any of her shows or on social media. Sanam has been very active on instagram in particular but she didn’t discuss her marital status on it till now. She finally broke her silence when a fan asked her if she was divorced on instagram.
Ohkay so, like all the previous episodes of Visaal, this one was pretty interesting too. I like the pace of the drama where they uncover an aspect & then take a couple of episodes in elaborating that scenario, which keeps the story moving forward at a steady pace.
Akram took the front seat & just as much as he was working on the surface, trying to score some brownie points in front of Pari, he was working to get to the root cause of this entire issue as well.
Even though Naheed was being very cautious but it was pretty interesting to see how Akram was picking up on the missing links & figuring out that there was so much more than what was being told to him. Akram definitely didn’t believe Naheed’s version & for obvious reasons as even though Naheed was being careful with her words, but because she was guilty, she was acting a little suspicious by avoiding making an eye contact with Akram. Akram is someone who has faced all sorts of conditions in life, he has met so many people, has had so many experiences so obviously Naheed doesn’t know that Akram is not an easy chap to fool. What I like the most about Akram’s character is his intelligence & wit, though he is a bit off tracked, he still is a very interesting character with so much to offer.
Akram knows that the people in this locality are too simple minded & no one can match up his level when it comes to being conniving, that is why he devised a plan & wove a trap very carefully that would gurantee him more time with Pari with everyone being at the backseat & him being in the limelight, at least in front of Pari. Akram stopped Ghufran from coming forward & everyone was of the same opinion too.
Well, Akram dodged the bullet but not sure for how long, it is only until that lady from Hyderabad who used to be his neighbour regains her clear memory of him that he’s the same Akku she knew. She will definitely be Akram’s undoing but because he is someone who can save himself from every other curveball, I am sure he will keep himself prepared for this one too.
Naheed has been feeling guilty ever since but now that things have gone out of control, with literally Shabbir’s life being on the line, she is being compelled to stay quiet. Naheed is a perfect embodiment of a coward, she was coward to admit to Pari’s face that she was jealous of her, she was a coward to stab her best friend in the back & now she is again being a coward to act that she cares whereas all that she cares about is herself but I am keen to see how long she will be able to hide herself & protect her dirty little secret!
Overall, it was a very interesting episode with some very interesting developments. Even though Akram is being the best person he can be, I am also interested to see when his secret will be revealed & how he will tackle everything. This has to be one of my favorite scripts of Hashim Nadeem, the way he has shaped the personalities of these characters & added so many shades to them, it sure is a commenable work that he has done. Zahid Ahmed is nailing his character as Akku & Akram, he is just right on point with extremely perfect expressions. The girls are good too. Please share your thoughts.
Ohkay so, these two episodes of Pukaar took the story forward, though slow, I was thanking the one who came up with a phenomenal invention in a drama buffs’ life, a forward button. I can’t really count how many slow-mo-slow-OST parts I forwarded because it sped up the process as well as minused the time I needed to complete these episodes.
So, Sarang found out that Zulekha was killed & she didn’t die naturally. I wish in stead of just letting it out there, Sarang had at least came up with proper evidence to end Laali’s game & put Zamani behind bars but he told Sultan & he straight away informed Laali about it!
The best thing about this drama for me has to be Sarang’s character. Obviously, he is a hero & he is shown to be the nice guy but what I like about Sarang is that he is more than that. He has a personality, he calls spade a spade & most importantly, he doesn’t shy away from speaking his mind & doesn’t even care who is at the receiving end of his bitter truth!
Sarang tried to get his message across to Samra through her mother Rabia that he wanted to rescue her & save her by getting married but he didn’t at first tell her that it was actually because he fell in love with her. Samra obviously grew distant from Sarang as she felt uncomfortable at the thought of getting married while still being emotionally attached to Fahad. I liked the scene which showed how Sarang felt burdened for being unable to tell Samra how much he loves her. I feel even though Samra will get married to Sarang to save herself but Sarang will geninely love her, with Samra eventually falling in love with him too.
I really want to believe that Touqeer is loyal to Sarang but from his vibe, I have a hard time trusting him. I expected so much better from Tashfeen but looks like she has turned into a psycho too, may be it’s the Haveli & the atmosphere there due to which she is acting like that otherwise she looks pretty normal but doesn’t act that way. Tashfeen & Amna’s interactions over Sultan are very bizarre as well.
I must say I have a hard time feeling anything for Samra because she is taking damsel-in-distress to another level, a wholeee newww level. I mean it is okay that Samra lost that spark, that drive, that confidence after she lost Fahad but when a woman becomes a mother, she doesn’t go around begging people to let her spend time with her son. Begging Zamani & then Tashfeen made me cringe more than feeling any kind of sympathy for her because she was introduced as a very brave girl who spoke her mind. If not for herself, Samra could have taken a stand for her son at least. Also, I wish they had paid attention to baby’s age because in one of the scenes it was a few months old baby & in the very next, they showed a comparatively new born resting next to Samra. I wish she owns her son & stops relying on others to give her the luxury of spending time with him, it is pretty bizarre!
Well, the next episode seemed promising with Samra & Sarang running away from that Haveli, let’s see. Please share your thoughts.
So this episode of Haara Dil had some twists and turns and some new characters. The episode starts with this scene at the train station where police reaches with the help of babysitter Kausar’s husband’s help to search for Sami. Upon seeing the police Kausar panics and leaves Sami on a bench and there we see a really terrible performance by the lady who shouts “Arrey behen apna bacha to le jao”. Anyway this woman grabs police’s and Abrar’s attention and Abrar is ecstatic to see Sami well and good.
Abrar takes Sami home meanwhile we witness a conversation between Zeba and her daughter Naila which ends with Naila giving some shady remarks about Fehmi indicating that Fehmi might not be what we have thought her to be so far. On the other side Amtul and Areej are making Afaan believe that the whole Sami’s abduction story is too dramatic and too filmy to be true. They are adamant that this was Abrar’s way of making Afaan pay ransom for Sami that he could later use for himself lol right?
Zeba sees this as her chance for pitching the idea of marrying Fehmi to Abrar. She convinces Abrar that hiring another nanny is out of question and the only way he can take better care of Sami is if he remarries and that Fehmi will be a wise choice. Abrar is struggling between his love for his deceased wife and his love for his son seeing no way out he decides to marry Fehmi without telling his daughters.
Abrar gets married and the shadiness is again introduced when maulvi sahab mentions haq meher. Here we are introduced to this nephew of Fehmi who is clearly a guy who loves shortcuts. He wants to go abroad and wants a beautiful wife no surprises there and he is thrilled to find out that Abrar has two beautiful daughters so clearly more will unfold on this front in the coming episodes.
After nikkah when Abrar reaches home he finds a different Momina. As predicted in the previous review Sami has indeed come home to a different sister now one who dearly loves him. Momina assures Abrar that from now on she will be taking care of Sami and that he doesn’t have to worry a bit about anything anymore. Abrar is rattled because the only reason he married Fehmi was because he needed someone to take care of Sami and right after the nikkah here his daughter is totally devoted to Sami and Abrar is utterly shook and guilty and probably wanted to shout his lungs out at this turn of events.
Abeer is still the same and gives Momina a disgusted look after seeing her bonding with Sami. Meanwhile Amtul is all set to make Zawar’s sister Fizza her daughter in law. Fizza will probably appear in the next episode and Areej is clearly not pleased with this idea.
Next episodes will include some interesting developments like Momina and Abeer finding out about Abrar’s marriage and Arham finding out why Fizza is coming over to their place. Things are about to get more interesting so stay tuned.
How’d you like this episode of Haara Dil? Yayy or nayy?
Tonight’s episode of Belapur Ki Dayan took the story to another direction, Tasha is now facing some serious problems due to Neelo and therefore for the first time she opened up to someone other than one of her family members. Aziz’s conversation with the policeman once again clearly indicated that all of them were responsible for covering up for Neelo’s murder or absence. These conversations weren’t new but Aziz has never talked about the assistance he got from the police in the past this clearly. This episode was relatively slower and at this point I am certain I am not the only one who wants this mystery to be solved. The viewers still don’t know what exactly happened to Neelo and what happened after the murders took place. I am missing the flashback scenes as well because it seems like there is more to the past then we have been shown already. Sarah Khan’s acting was superb tonight, she translated Tasha’s confusion and fear faultlessly on screen. It is always a treat watching the Dayan but lately her scenes have been somewhat repetitive. Neelo and Amar Khan both have tons to offer therefore I am looking forward to watching more of Neelo in the upcoming episodes.
This episode opened with Aziz telling Shakir off for meeting Rehmat. Aziz was probably afraid that Rehmat would reveal his secret. Shakir decided to go back but then the police came to arrest Tasha and he decided to stay back. Tasha and Shakir’s relationship is difficult to digest because of the fact that Shakir is probably as old as her father! This particular track is disturbing and it would have been nicer if Shakir wasn’t shown as Tasha’s love interest. In the previous episode it looked like Tasha was showing interest in Shakir only to put Neelo off but her reaction tonight after she found out that he was leaving suggested that she really was interested in him. The preview of the next episode also showed her father thinking about marrying Tasha to Shakir. Hopefully this track will take a different turn in the upcoming episodes. Tasha’s scenes in the prison were covered well and one of the scenes suggested that Neelo also decided to pay the policeman a visit. Neelo’s plan is going as planned and it remains to be seen if Shakir will be able to talk her out of it.
Just like every other episode of Bela Pur Ki Dayan, this one too definitely gave me a reason to tune in to the next episode. The story still has a lot to offer and the mystery element of the play is still intact but if it is dragged further then the excitement will wear off. I hope that the story will wrap up nicely in the next 3 weeks or so. Will the Dayan ever be able to rest in peace? If Aziz is the real culprit, he should get the punishment he deserves. The preview of the next episode showed that Aziz will figure out a way to get Tasha out and Shakir and Neelo will finally have the conversation we have all been waiting for!
Sonya Hussyn and Moammar Rana starrer Azaadi is releasing this Eid and the lead actors are promoting their film with full zeal. Azaadi caters to the freedom movement in Kashmir. The lead actress Sonya has done many looks for the promotions and has reached for both sides of the spectrum: eastern and western. The actress also opted for some fusion choices. Here is her lookbook from the Azaadi promotions:
Jawani Phir Nahi Ani was a blockbuster in 2015. Soon after its sequel was announced. The film Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2 like its prequel is directed by Nadeem Baig who also gave us Punjab Nahin Jaongi last year. This is a huge budget film with a lot of surprises. With the original cast of Humayun Saeed, Ahmed Ali Butt and Vasay Chaudhary reprising their roles, Fahad Mustafa is the new member of the Jawani crew while the leading ladies are Kubra Khan and Mawra Hocane.
With few Bollywood actors also being a part of the film, the next big news is that Pakistan’s golden boy Fawad Khan may also do a cameo in the film. Humayun Saeed has approached Fawad to do the role and he may become a part of JPNA2. If Fawad confirms the news he will be the fourth prominent face to do a cameo in the film after Mehwish Hayat, Sara Loren and Omar Shahzad.
Fawad will himself be seen on the big screen as Maula Jutt and reportedly the shoot is over.
Let’s see if Fawad becomes a part of JPNA 2 or not?

Mehwish Hayat is hands down one of the most successful actresses of Pakistani entertainment industry. She is not only well-established in dramas but has also become the most bankable actress in films. With the actress now beginning her professional singing career, she has always proudly represented Pakistan everywhere. With the whole fiasco which started after Indian actress, Swara Bhaskar commented on Pakistan, many artists came out and gave her a much needed shut up call. Mehwish Hayat has also shared her opinions and they are extremely true. She pointed out the reason which gives people across the border to say stupid things. She asked her co-stars to be proud of their own industry:
Do you agree with Mehwish? Share your thoughts in the comments!
Ohkay so, before talking about this episode, I will talk about the new title & the clippings that it contained which suggested a death in the family. I am not too sure what I feel about it because I can totally see it being Sajjad who will die because that’s the clear message that the title gave out. I am not sure if I’m being selfish for saying that this is not what I signed up for, yes, they are showing us all the aspects that a family goes through during different phases of its life together but then while still being aware of it, why do I feel these situations are being created now? The theme of the drama has completely changed & even though I still feel connected to the characters, I am not too happy with the overall seriousness of the drama. I am sure it might be working for a lot of viewers, which is totally cool!
So, Shafiq & Anila finally convinced Abba Jee & Sajjad to distribute the wealth equally between everyone. Even though Asim & Zahid didn’t want this to happen, Sajjad & Abba Jee were adamant to get this over with. Yes, I do agree there’s a lot of evil out there in the world but I am unable to wrap my head around the fact that forget about Shafiq, Anila of all the people didn’t bat an eyelid or shed a tear at the thought that her parents in this age would become homeless after giving everyone their chunk of property? Yes, we can expect Shafiq to be this cold-hearted because he left this family ages ago because of which he is emotionally detatched but to see a daughter acting like such a brat seemed unconvincing, so much so that she was laughing & couldn’t contain her happiness when her father & elder brother were teary eyed? Also, to me what was shocking was that it wasn’t Allauddin who insinuated this idea, it was Anila herself who was jumping with joy at the thought of bringing her parents & the rest of her family on the road?!?!?!?!
Ohkay fine, Shafiq instigated this mess, that’s fine but I wasn’t too convinced with his reasoning too? He just wants his share so that he could afford his son’s big fat wedding that he intends to hold in Pakistan? I mean he’s settled in Germany & we are being told that he can not afford his son’s wedding on his own after working there for so many years? Like Sajjad said, Shafiq has a pretty good lifestyle in Germany but because he is stingy, he poses to not have much bank balance, so that is why, again, that is fine that he demanded his share but I wish they had either not touched upon his reasoning behind this demand or had at least made it convincing!
I wish they had added a little confrontation between the brothers with Asim & Zahid giving a piece of their mind to Shafiq & taking Anila’s case as well. Yes, they all are too good to be true but then at some point they all seemed human but now, they are being too angelic & I don’t know why! Such matters are never resolved quietly & I am amazed that in this family, everything happened in a jiffy that too silently? Chalo aur kuch nahi kam az kam Zahid hi Shafiq aur Anila ko Walidain ke Huqooq yaad karwa deta? Itna to banta tha!
Hajra & Rubina were shaken to the core & they so didn’t want this to happen. It was good to see Rubina, Hajra, Zahid & Asim being on the same page but then, where was Laila? I mean Laila is the intelligent one, the educated & the opinionated one, so are they telling me that while this storm was brewing in her family, she was locked up inside her room with her baby aloof to everything? I don’t buy that. Yes, she will become a part of the process in the next episode but why was she MIA when such an important decision was being made? Also, once again, I so wish they had shown a conversation, a confrontation just anything between Laila & Asim for us viewers to be clear about where they stand; together or even in their own orbits, because now it’s like a big question mark & Laila’s absence in this entire scenario doesn’t help either!
Well, the preview did suggest that Sajjad will meet an accident, which was something that I could foresee after I paid attention to the new title. Plus the way in this episode Sajjad was taking care of the important matters like Saddan’s Valima & timely property distribution, it did suggest that his days in the drama are numbered, something that I so am not looking forward to. It would have been so nice if they had kept the entire family intact, showing how they stood by each other & overcame this obstacle. I am not sure how I’ll feel tuning to this drama in that phase because for me Aangan meant happiness & entertainment but that seems to be long forgotten now. Anyways, please share your thoughts!
After Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s demise in 1997, his wife Naheed and his only child, a daughter Nida moved to Canada and never came back. Most of the world had forgotten about the two, however 20 years later, Nida came to Lahore and held a press conference.
At the press conference, Nida told media that she would be taking action against everyone who has used her father’s music without permission as she owns the rights. Rahat responded to Nida’s statements stating that he was the successor after Nusrat, which is why he doesn’t need to ask anyone for permission
In a recent interview Nida stated,
“I have decided to fight a legal war against those who are misusing his music and making profit without giving him due credit.”
She further added,
“After my mother’s passing, I kept working to save my father’s music. Now, I have a few targets that I need to achieve. Everyone, including Rahat, who tried to benefit from my father’s music, will be held accountable. I am determined to fight this battle alone.”
She added that she will help them produce albums using the legendary singer’s unreleased tunes.
To conclude, Nida shared,
“I’ve passionately returned back to Pakistan to keep his name alive and promote his music. I want to tell everyone that this is just the beginning and I have a long way to go.”
Last week, the Ministry of Information, Broadcasting, National History and Literary Heritage prohibited the screening of Indian films in Pakistan around the upcoming Eid holidays.
The moratorium period was to be observed starting from two days before Eidul Fitr and Eidul Azha, up until two weeks after. However, the decisions has now been reduced to just one week after the Eid holidays.
The initial decision was taken so as to promote the local films which are releasing on Eidul Fitr. These include Mahira Khan-starrer 7 Din Mohabbat In and Javed Sheikh’s Wajood.
The recently revised notice states,
“Keeping the importance of local film industry and exhibition facilities in mind, the government has decided that screening of Bollywood movies shall be restricted for a period of one week in total, starting from the Eid day. The decision has been taken to promote Pakistani film industry.”

According to sources, the amendment came into effect due to an influential group in the cinema industry. Said group is responsible for screening of Bollywood films within Pakistan and forced the government to relax the ban to one week.
This week began with a sad news when on Monday Lahore High Court acquitted the man accused in 24-year-old Khadija Siddiqui’s stabbing case, a year after a judicial magistrate had sentenced him to seven years in prison.
Nation stood up for it’s daughter and everyone from common people to celebrities demanded justice for Khadija. Celebrities including Mahira Khan, Mawra Hocane, Hamza Ali Abbasi, Jibran Nasir and others have come forward to support Khadija and called for unity against the horrific crime.
Mahira Khan
And if it is the game of power, then so be it. Because there is nothing more powerful than when people come together united for a cause against those in power. We are with you @khadeeeej751 #justiceforkhadija
WHAT THE HELL? I am hearing that attacker of #KhadijaSiddiqi who stabbed her 24 times has been acquitted by Lahore High Court???? If this is true, then we must all unite & be Khadija's voice & leave no stone unturned to get her justice against this barbarian! #WeAreWithKhadijapic.twitter.com/BimkvEK8Z5
Attacker of #KhadijaSiddiqi who stabbed her 24 times has been acquitted by Lahore High Court. Is this what our justice system has come down to. First under CJP Nisar's general order security was withdrawn from @khadeeeej751 and now her attacker has been set free. Shame pic.twitter.com/L4lAzlVacz
High court decision in #KhadijaSiddiqi Case is ridiculous. It’s outright biased/unfair verdict. Is stabbing someone 23 times not enough to amount for a punishment or is it power over justice ? #KhadijaSiddiqiCase#westandwithKhadija
I cannot believe Shah Hussain – who, to recap, stabbed his classmate Khadija 23 times in May 2016 – has been acquitted. Khadija is right: justice butchered. I'm so sorry this country failed you. https://t.co/neK3lV7cpg

A seven-year sentence for attempted murder – reduced to five years – reduced to nothing. This is how we value a woman seeking justice with proof (multiple eye-witnesses, DNA match) – the message is loud and clear. She is reduced to nothing. #JusticeForKhadija

'Khadija Siddiqui ke saath jo aaj hua hai woh Pakistan ke liye sharmindagi ki baat hai. Us bachi ki himmat to qaim hai, kisi aur ki himmat na toot jaye. Khudaara, adalaton ka notice lijiye.' – Jibran Nasir. Hon. CJP Saqib Nisar, are you listening? #JusticeForKhadijahttps://t.co/Z46YyAq6hO

Shah Hussain, who was found guilty last year of brutally stabbing @khadeeeej751 23 times, has just been acquitted by the Lahore High Court. Shameful day for Pakistan. Please support her and her lawyer @HniaziISF as they continue this fight.#WeareWithKhadija#JusticeForKhadijapic.twitter.com/4ubzCgz3Py
Ohkay so, when I started watching Lashkara, I seriously had no idea what I should expect, I remember randomly coming across a post on Instagram suggesting it as an upcoming drama so I got interested & I am glad I made that decision because I enjoy each & everything, every little detail about this drama, so much so that I can say I love Lashkara. The power packed performances, amazing dialogues intense acting, layered characters & so many things to be read between the lines; all these factors make Lashkara a treat & a complete package!
The way all these episodes brought the realities of post marriage to life was phenomenal. There were so many moments, so many intricate details that covered what really truly happens in & after a desi wedding, where the couple is happy, some people around them are busy with their agendas & others are genuinely happy for them!
I must say, Nasreen’s character has to be the most interesting one & the grace & personality with which Saba Hameed has portrayed it is just phenomenal. I love the confidence & self-assurance of Nasreen. You can’t really put her in a category & this is what I love about her, she is the friend you need if you’re in her good books but if you’re not, she will be your worst nightmare.
It is quite interesting to see how well aware Nasreen is when it comes to her upbringing especially in regards to Feeka. She knows that he is this very innocent & pure soul that is why she always keeps her guards erected in the matters concerning him as he is someone who’s prone to getting hurt easily. The very first warning that Nasreen gave to Bubbly suggested how she wanted Bubbly to remain guilt-stricken because that way she would become very easy to mold. In these episodes, especially after Feeka & Bubbly’s marriage, Nasreen was seen setting a play ground for Bubbly to be on as per her own terms & conditions. Nasreen herself knows that Bubbly is way out of Feeka’s league that is why she was throwing one favour after another Bubbly’s way so that she spends the rest of her life under the burden of those favours & can not even imagine hurting Feeka who is so gullibly in love with her. Bubbly did say that it seemed like Nasreen brought her for Feeka, which is true but then Nasreen covered that fact under so many wraps that no one could talk about it anymore – not even Bubbly!
My most favorite scenes in these episodes were of Bubbly & Feeka, especially their wedding scene where Feeka finally got a chance to tell Bubbly what she meant to him. The way they broke the ice & then grew so comfortable within a span of few minutes was elaborated by Ushna & Mohsin beautifully. Bubbly who had so many inhibitions found herself falling in love with Feeka because he touched her emotionally. Feeka was on cloud 9 but then again, he couldn’t keep his emotions in control too as there were so many voices in his head that were forcing him to have doubts. Feeka is just very plain & has no filters that is why he immediately told Bubbly why he was confused.
It was so nice to see the budding relationship of Bubbly & Feeka where they went from being distant to now totally in love with each other. Bubbly never had a clear idea of her ‘perfect’ marriage but because Feeka loved her like she couldn’t imagine, she was simply happy. It was nice to see Nasreen being happy for Feeka & Bubbly but then again, she knows she has set the ground & won’t let Bubbly escape from it ever, that is why she couldn’t ignore one small lie of Bubbly which she told about she wanting Feeka to go with her. May be by inquiring about it from Feeka, it was her way of confirming whether her son has changed or was he still the same & yes, Feeka didn’t disappoint her because he was still that gullible simple minded Feeka who couldn’t keep things to himself!
The way Nasreen dealt with Sunny went to show how she kept a grudge & how she again devised a plan to teach him a lesson & get back at him for insulting Feeka in front of such a huge crowd. Nasreen’s calm in dealing with such complicated matters is amazing. Sunny couldn’t really gather himself because he was already shattered with the news of Bubbly’s marriage & then Nasreen put his entire family on the line which he couldn’t cope up with. Sunny really couldn’t accept the fact that Bubbly was happy & most importantly she was happy & emotionally settled with Feeka. Even after so many reminders from Bubbly herself, Sunny still didn’t want to wrap his head around the fact that she moved on but then even if not for Bubbly, Sunny will definitely come back to deal with Nasreen, for all that she put him up with.
In the middle of all this, another touching conversation took place between Taya Jee & Tayi Jee where Taya typically showed his big & kind heartedness by being happy for Bubbly but Tayi Jee choked up at the idea of Saima’s marriage, where the thought of her daughter’s struggles in the future overwhelmed her. Tayi Jee was happy for Bubbly but more than that, she was sad for her daughter Saima & even though she has always supported Saima’s passion for education, at that point she thought like a typical mother who only wanted to see her daughter married & well-settled. I loved how Taya Jee tried to rationalize her thoughts but then Tayi couldn’t understand what he was trying to say at that moment. Also, in the background, Nazeer; bubbly’s harmless admirer also made an appearance & even he was having a hard time seeing Bubbly married & happy. I loved the way Bubbly spoke to him, like Saima said, Bubbly is very mature & she definitely portrayed that because all of a sudden Bubbly was being forced to act responsibly & she was doing a great job at that. It is interesting to see how Nasreen doesn’t pay much heed to what Nikki says, may be because she feels Nikki’s all talks & nothing beyond that? But I do have a feeling Nikki & her husband Akram are going to create troubles for Bubbly, let’s see how she’ll deal with them!
Overall, these episodes of Lashkara took the story forward a great deal & everything about it was phenomenal. Ushna Shah & Mohsin Abbas Haider are amazing & they made their scenes a treat to watch but the one who took the crown yet again was Imran Ashraf, he really really portrayed the storm brewing inside Sunny’s mind & heart convincingly. Someone who was absolutely shattered & just didn’t know what he was supposed to do & how he should pick up the pieces, well done Imran Ashraf. Saba Hameed was perfect, her calm, her animosity, everything was subtle but screaming what was going through her mind. I can’t wait for the next episode. All the supporting actors are doing an amazing job too. The editors have really elevated the level of this drama too. I love the background scores they have used & how they have kept the usage very minimal as well. Lashkara has turned out to be such a drama that I look forward too definitely. Please share your thoughts.
After 28 weeks too the viewers tune into this drama with the same excitement as they did when it started. The fans don’t want this drama to end but at the same time are eagerly looking forward to a climax and an unforgettable ending.
This episode focused on how children take after their parents. Since the start, we were introduced to Chachi Jaan as a character who is selfish and rude to her core and today’s episode established that her daughter is a hundred percent copy of her. She is rotten to her core and her worry for Mirha was merely a facade. Arham has turned a blind eye to every whim of her as he is hopelessly in love with her. He is the one coming after her and not even caring about his self-respect. But Rushna still leads him on. She goes to meet him every second day and eats lunch with his money. Instead of cutting off all ties, she keeps calling him for one thing or another. And still, her DHOKAYBAAZ is not getting away. How could you imagine marrying the brother of a guy you were in a relationship with? Moreover, the way they are showing Rushna behaving with her potential in-laws is something so unbelievable. Why does Aqeela who is always shouting on everything has nothing to say to Rushna’s rude behaviour with Arham’s family? At this point, it seems like Rushna has only complicated things for herself.
In 14 episodes, it is established that Arham is a very bad driver. Why does his family leave him to take off when they know about his driving issues. He is a typical mashriqi hero who will bend in front of the heroine and will never raise his voice for the right thing neither will he use his brain to understand the circumstances. His situation is in a cliffhanger right now since we do not know whether Arham survived the car crash or not.
Mirha is happily settled in Mehrab’s house. There is no hope left for her from Wahaj’s side and the remainder further went down the drain when Wahaj saw her with Mehrab. The story is not progressing from her end.
I am actually looking forward to how Rushna is further lowering herself to get Mehrab or Arham as she is a unique character with no remorse or presence of mind!
Swara Bhaskar has been getting backlash from Pakistan ever since her latest comment on Pakistan. In a recent interview the ‘Veere Di Wedding’ starlet called Pakistan a failed state and Pakistanis have been slamming her ever since.
After Urwa Hocane Gohar Rasheed has jumped into the court and slammed Swara Bhaskar in a tweet spree.
In a series of Twitter posts, the Rangreza actor Rasheed wrote how he had no knowledge of who Bhaskar was till he came across her now infamous interview with critic Rajeev Masand. He went on to add that her comments were typical of someone with an “old-school mentality”.
#SwaraBhasker prior to your recent interview I've never heard your name or known of your existence in #Bollywood. Hence this is when I found out about you, and your change of opinion on #Pakistan. My first reaction was, what a “typical old school mentality”, (1/10)
“Obviously in order to stand out in front of your talented and well spoken co actors #KareenaKapoor & #SonamKapoor you’ld resort to a controversial statement to get the limelight. There seemed to be no better way for you, than talking about #Pakistan with hatred,”
Obviously in order to stand out in front of your talented and well spoken co actors #KareenaKapoor & #SonamKapoor you'ld resort to a controversial statement to get the limelight. There seemed to be no better way for you, than talking about #Pakistan with hatred, (2/10)
He further schooled Swara on how Pakistan is the fifth largest market for Bollywood movies,
In your interview you said “#Pakistan is a failing state, I don’t understand why we keep taking pleasure and feeling sense of self worth from all the things that happens in #Pakistan”. Let me inform you that #Pakistan is the 5th largest market for Bollywood films, (4/10)
Nomi Ansari is known for hosting amazing parties naturally he had to host an iftaar party this Ramadan as well. Trending with the hashtag whitefeast social media is booming with the pictures from this iftaar which was massively star studded.
Dressed in white Pakistani entertainment industry’s big names were present at the iftaar and by the looks of it they had a blast. Have a look.
Recently released Bollywood movie, Veere Di Wedding was banned in Pakistan due to vulgar scenes and language. Swara Bhaskar who is one of the leads in the movie made nasty comments when asked about the ban in Pakistan in an interview. She called Pakistan an-unsecular state governed by Sharia laws. According to her Pakistan is a failing state. These statements did not sit well with Pakistanis since the actress actually forgot that she herself also belongs to a third world country. Urwa Hocane summed up the whole situation for her in a series of tweets. This is what Urwa had to say:
Elections 2018 are to be held on 25th July, 2018 and the political scene is scorching in Pakistan. At the same time, Reham Khan is about to release her book which is supposed to bring out some secrets of Imran Khan, the chairman of one of the largest political parties in Pakistan and Reham’s ex-husband. Since many are not happy with Reham’s constant interviews against Imran Khan since her divorce and now her book, things have naturally got heated. Reham Khan has alleged that actor Hamza Ali Abbasi has been threatening her since August 2017. She has, however, not elaborated on the nature of threats. She tweeted this on her account:
Hamza has called all the e-mails fake and was not behind in any way in answering Reham’s allegations:
Hamza has also read Reham’s book’s manuscript and he like always had opinions which he did not shy away from sharing:
Reham called Hamza a fraud for reading her manuscript:
For those wondering how Hamza got the manuscript, it is allegedly someone from Reham’s staff who gave it to him but he will not name him/her.
Usually last episodes call for summing up of all what had happened and how it came to the end. But with Khamoshi, it is simply not necessary since many of the last 10 or so episodes had the same story and the finale was I do not know what to call it?
Yes, everyone was rooting for Arsala and Shahram but honestly, she did not give him the chance the way he deserved. If not for Tahseen Baaji (again), Arsala would still be hanging in the balance. She had to listen to all of Shahram’s work to finally wanting to marry him. Can’t she respect him before that? Wasn’t the stunt he pulled at his engagement enough for her? Even in the end, he kept making things smooth for her and she did not even try to stop him herself.
Closure was not something the writer was trying to give in this episode. They tried to pull off everything with a simple hand holding scene in the end. Shehnaz was suddenly sorry and was crying her eyes out which somehow got her easy forgiveness for all she had done to her daughter. Khala has suddenly vanished from the scene. Atif and her mother had no relatives in Karachi, his mother only had one close relative, Arsala’s mother but she was suddenly shipped to the relative’s home. Atif was wandering around with a visa in his pocket. Instead of owning up to his mistakes seriously, he put all the blame on Naima and shipped off. He even had no plans about his mother. Buss bhagg raha tha KHAMOSHI se!
Naima’s ending is so stupid and I have no idea what the makers were thinking. Why our makers take suicide so easily? What are they preaching? Ke life main pehli baar kuch masla ho to kood jao chatt se? Yes, Naima was a super-evil character who did not do one single right thing in her life but she could have tried her hand at redemption. When her mother got out easily, Atif bailed out like he had done nothing wrong. Why did they make her kill herself? Using suicide so easily in a society where 90% of our population is depressed? For instance, I, who is not a fan of easy forgiveness do not want to see the makers kill every character. They should suffer, yes but suicide is extreme and can be a trigger for many.
For a drama which took 35 episodes to wrap up, this ending was not only bad but abrupt also. I wish they had started wrapping up after episode 30 at least!

Even after 16 weeks Suno Chanda gives you plenty of laughter and a lot to look forward to. The best aspect of this play so far is that the story never gets serious no matter what and the treatment given to all the characters with the exception of Kinza is superb! A comic script no matter how well written doesn’t work for the audience if the director and the actors don’t give it the right treatment therefore the credit for the success of this comic serial goes to the entire team and the director in particular. The background score also plays an important role in making the comic scenes more fun and the background music in this play has been superb throughout. The production values of the play are also impressive which makes the entire experience even better.
In these few episodes Arsal and Jiya continued to team up in an attempt to delay the wedding functions and eventually end their nikkah. Bi Jaan decided to call off the marriage when she found out what Arsal had done but then she changed her mind and they had to come up with a new plan to change her mind. Ultimately they decided that if Shahana and Jamshed have a fight and Shahana leaves the house then automatically the marriage will be delayed. There were times when the role played by Kinza in particular was confusing but generally the whole situation was covered intelligently and there were a lot of funny situations. Shahana’s dialogues about widows were the most hilarious part of the episodes in which Jamshed was in the hospital. Punjabi language gives comedy the edge it needs therefore these dialogues were even more amusing because they were in Punjabi. I absolutely loved the scenes covering Jiya’s attempts to apologize to Arsal; it looked like this might be the moment when one of them falls for the other but it definitely wasn’t because the patch up didn’t even last a few minutes! While Shehryar wants to see Arsal and Jiya together, Kinza has made up her mind that she is the one who will eventually marry Arsal. That’s what their parents want to therefore all of them want this nikkah to be annulled. I am glad the writer didn’t show Arsal flirting with Kinza! Arsal and Shahana’s characters are my favorite. They are always amusing, blunt and hardly ever politically incorrect.
Farhan Saeed is absolutely phenomenal as Arsal, his acting is always effortless and his comic timing is perfect. He owns his role completely and was the perfect choice for playing this character. Iqra Aziz brings out the quirky side of her character more than any other. The on-screen chemistry Farhan Saeed and Iqra Aziz share continues to be the highlight of their scenes together coupled with the situations that are always amusing. Shahana’s character, her dialogues especially in the past few episodes and Nadia Afghan’s performance is on point. DJ is another character which keeps you amused and his breaking news plays a pivotal role in moving the plot forward. DJ’s acting skills are truly impressive especially for his age. I love the way Bi Jaan runs this house and the way every character brings something interesting to the table. Billo’s character was introduced this week and although Mizna Waqas’ performance is faultless but the character itself and everything associated with it is somewhat clichéd. The actor playing Kinza’s role is the weakest link in the play and the only one whose performance leaves a lot to be desired. Billo is getting way too much screen time lately and it isn’t always funny watching the men flirting with her. Having said that Arsal and Jiya have completely won me over and overall so far the drama never fails to entertain. The actor playing Sherry’s role is also doing his part really well. Suno Chanda continues to a must watch play which shouldn’t be missed! It crackles with clever and witty jokes and you wait for the time when Arsal and Jiya will fall for one another! The happy ending keeps you looking forward to more and the journey is thoroughly entertaining!
Ohkay so, I think ARY made the best decision of airing Pukaar twice a week because it compensates in regards to the slowest pace that this drama has. I got a chance of watching 4 episodes of Pukaar back to back & I found some scenarios & the overall slowness getting to my nerves at times, not to forget the excessive use of OST & that scary heavy-hearted ‘hayeee’!
Well, Tashfeen, who has zero value in Sultan’s life thought she had to protect the name & position of her son, therefore she joined forces with Laali to prevent Sarang from taking Fahad’s place. Like Sarang told Laali that he could feel she had already accepted him as her grandson but was not admitting it, I won’t be surprised if in the future Laali ditches Tashfeen & betrays her just like that because she by all means is a very selfish woman who puts herself above all!
Sultan did everything to make Sarang feel important & that is why when Sarang got attacked, he immediately took an action & confronted Tashfeen as he could sense that Tashfeen was capable of doing something like that. I think one of the most awkward & unnecessary scenarios was to see Amna & Tashfeen fighting over Sultan, as far as their animosity was related to their sons, it made sense but to see Amna using Sultan’s stay at her place against Tashfeen made me question that weren’t they all too old for this?
Sarang & Samra were bonding well but then by the 20th episode it got a bit clear that Sarang’s sympathy for Samra developed into his love for her. At first Sarang took it as his responsibility to help her but later, the more he helped her & saw how it affected Samra in a positive way, the more he made sure to keep on doing all that he wanted to for her & during this time, he grew affectionate towards her & then finally fell in love with her. It was unfortunate that Sarang could’t stop Laali from slapping Samra once again but he did realize that he now actually had to do something & that too quickly in order to set her free from this cage & this barbaric treatment.
I think the best bit about this entire drama is Samra & Sarang’s equation because of which the drama is working despite the unconvincing, cringey scenarios & extremely slow pace. I enjoyed watching all the interactions Samra & Sarang had, those were definitely nicely done & acted as a breather in a setting where the rest of the women are so pathetic & in need of a life!
Zulekha’s death was another unnecessary scenario that was created in this story. I just can not understand why Zamani has so much of power that she went ahead & planned a murder of a harmless girl like Zulekha? I really liked the Samra that we saw in the beginning who spoke for herself, yes, she does treat Zamani the way she should be treated, but Samra also settles for everything that Laali decides for her, which is so not in line with her character. Yes, Samra does rebel as much as she can but then again, there’s so much more that she can do but she just surrenders. Zamani & Laali’s scenes have become boring, repetitive & monotonous, they have devised a lot of plans against everyone, I just wish to see people taking a stand for themselves now.
Pukaar is a nice drama to tune to but the slow execution really tests the patience of a viewer. Also, so many episodes have gone by & Samra’s slow mo runnimg over the staircase with OST echoing in the background hasn’t stopped. We have seen it plenty of times I believe so the director should try something new. Zahid Ahmed as Sarang is the highlight of Pukaar these days. Yumna Zaidi though performing well is unable to pull my heartstrings because Samra’s character has taken bechargi to another level & I am not too fond of it. Also, I wish the editors stop relying on that HAYEEE so much, it just gets to me, ticks me off & is so so so annoying! Everytime the singer goes like hayeee, I go like haye not again too! Please share your thoughts.
This was one of my favorite episodes of Zun Mureed, it was brilliantly penned down and executed flawlessly. There wasn’t a single unnecessary scene in this episode and it had the perfect flow. All the actors gave brilliant performances which definitely contributed to the overall impact every conversation had. Tonight’s episode opened with Tabbasum having a conversation with her sister Fari about how she too had contributed to the house from which she was forced to leave and doesn’t have the option of going back to. I absolutely loved how the writer showed that a woman can actually be homeless even when she has two houses – one which she help buy and build up and the other one which she also has a share in! The reason for this is that both these houses are not in her name. The parents most often trust their sons enough that they leave matters in their hands and when a woman is happily married she too is hardly ever given the option of legally owning the house she lives in and the thought never crosses her mind either. When a husband decides to leave his wife or if there are problems in a marriage, it is always the woman who has to leave the house and therefore while the man is well settled in a house he has always lived in, the woman doesn’t only have to deal with the emotional pain but also such practical aspects of the situation. Although Sajjad’s house too is a mess ever since Tabbasum left but the fact is that he couldn’t care less who is running the house and how. The only thing he is focused on right now is to do whatever it takes to repair his bruised ego and convince himself that he didn’t do anything wrong!
Tabbasum’s situation today gave the viewers tons to reflect upon. In order to get her share from her brother, she will have to upset him because thanks to the double standards which exist in our society, when a man takes over her sister or wife’s property no one questions him but if a woman even asks for her share she is instantly an outcast! While the entire burden of making and breaking a house is on a woman’s shoulder, no one is willing to give her the actual ownership of that house!! I loved Fari’s conversation with her college friend in which she suggested that women should have some form of security legally in case of a divorce or a situation similar to that of Tabbasum’s.
Tabbasum and Sajjad’s scene was brilliantly executed since it was just the two of them, the background score and the overall impact of that scene was remarkable. I also really liked the scene in which Tabbasum’s nieces question their mother about her possible reaction if they were to face a similar situation.
In this episode for the first time the viewers were told the background because of which Sajjad is so “spoiled”! The reasons given were enough to explain Sajjad’s narcissistic personality. He is so self-absorbed that a cricket match he is interested in is more important than anything else which is happening around him – whether it is his mother giving his wife a tough time or his children crying for their mother! The way his sister glorified these negative attributes of his personality also showed why he has such a difficult admitting his mistakes. Hopefully now those viewers who always found it difficult to understand why Sajjad hit Tabbasum, will be able to identify with the entire situation. I cannot praise Omair Rana’s acting enough. He is absolutely brilliant in this role. Hina Bayat, Shamim Hilali, Aisha Gul and Khalid Anum’s performances have also been spot on right from the first episode.
Sidra’s call and her offer couldn’t have come at a better time. I am eagerly looking forward to finding out how this second meeting between Tabbasum and Sidra goes and how in the long run these two characters influence each other. Tabbasum’s bhabhi’s reaction and especially the dialogue about “Dayan bhi jati tu….” was yet another attempt to blame Tabbassum for this recent development as well. She always twists the truth to make Tabbasum feel guilty. Her character represents all those people in our society who feel the need to intervene in everyone’s affairs and take no responsibility for the outcome.
Zun Mureed is going strong and manages to deliver every week. It is my favorite drama nowadays which never disappoints. The preview of the next episode was really interesting. Can’t wait to watch the next episode!
So a new day a new episode new reasons to stan and new reasons to diss too. The best thing about last episode was the neutrality with which the characters were portrayed especially female characters and somehow this episode lacked that. The part where Fehmida and Zeba are discussing Abrar and the prospects of Fehmi marrying him the same old element of hidden evil motives is manifested. Fehmi has finally met Momina and clearly is displeased with the fact that Momina and Abeer aren’t married yet which might present difficulties to her future plans of marrying their father; good ol’ cliche. Also Zeba gives Fehmi this weird look which was hard to read, what is she to gain from this matrimony hopefully something less cliched.
Moving on, Kausar (the babysitter) has abducted Sami which was a much needed twist in order to make Momina and Abeer realize that Sami needs them and for them to finally accept him. Looks like this mishap was a blessing in disguise because a trauma as big as this was indeed needed for both Momina and Abeer to finally get over their mother’s death and move on. By the end of the episode Momina dreams of her mother confronting her for not taking care of her baby and being so brutally callous and inhumane towards an infant, so it is safe to assume that Sami will return to a different home; a home where he is loved by his sisters may be.
It is also safe to assume that this incident will make Abrar consider the prospects of getting married more seriously, pretty sure he wouldn’t be able to trust any baby sitter for the rest of his life so new wife and new mommy for Sami it is. This is bound to bring more complications to the already complicated father-daughter relationship that Abrar and his daughters have at the moment.
On Arham and Momina’s front things are still bleak and somewhat on a stand still. But Amtul is planning something big and most probably that plan, as Areej predicted, includes Zawar’s sister. We hear Amtul tell Areej that Arham would do anything for Areej’s happiness so presumably Amtul plans on faux jeopardizing Areej’s married life which will make Arham marry Zawar’s sister but this is just a theory yet to be proven right.
Afan continues to be an angel of a friend that he is and comes to Sami’s rescue with the help of his contacts Sami will be reaching home soon safe and sound. Meanwhile Fehmi and Zeba also help a lot through this crisis for which Abrar is very thankful.
It can be seen that like the clear sky after a storm this crisis is making all the characters look at things more clearly and in a different light. Things are sure to get more interesting so stay tuned.
