No one doubts the talent that Pakistan has when it comes to music, and India might not admit it but that doesn’t stop her from copying our music of the past, remaking them and selling them with her stamp on it!
The song ‘Hawa Hawa’ is a famous creation of Pakistan’s pop music sung by Hassan Jahangir. The song gained huge popularity in the 80s’ and 90s’ and is still considered as one of the best tracks that our music industry has managed to produce.
While our music Industry is moving forward, bringing our artists’ creativity into play, producing innovative tracks and beats, India is moving backwards-backtracking our musical records and finding the tracks they can copy, I mean, remake.
The most recent victim of India’s craze of remaking old Pakistani songs will be found in the movie ‘Mubarakan’, an Arjoon Kapoor starrer which is to release later this year. The remake is posted under as well as the original; you can decide for yourself which is better.
According to me, the remake is cheap. Not only are the lyrics vulgar, the use of auto tune also ruins the whole song. I dearly missed the original ,melodious version of song when I had the misfortune of listening to the Indian version.
After New York, the ambitious celebrated team of Yalghaar has reached Los Angeles on Wednesday for its promotions and red carpet premiere. It seemed like amidst the sleepless nights and the hassle of travelling through time zones, our Pakistani actors look as dashing and gorgeous as ever. In spite of it all, they tend to be holding their ground pretty and well and are well supportive of each other as a united team throughout the journey.
Here are a few captured moments from their social accounts:

The diva looks a little bit homesick and exhausted at this prospect, and judging from the faces below she’s probably not the only one:
But nothing beats that of our man-crush and never-aging hunk Adnan Siddiqui, who made this absolutely adorable video on his Instagram before hitting the L.A carpet:

Bilal Ashraf is a sensation these days. He became a phenomenon after his first film as lead and now he is ruling the scene with Yalghaar and Rangreza to release soon. Bilal has also worked behind camera as the “Visual Effects Director” for Yalghaar.
News is Bilal has turned writer for a super-hero trilogy. This is what he said in an interview:
“Well it’s a story that I’ve been working on for over four years. It’s a definite trilogy because I feel I can’t complete it in one go. Every installment has different characters developing gradually as the story progresses. That’s how I’ve planned it since I feel I wouldn’t have been able to do it justice. It’s something I’ve actually grown up with. I’ve always had such ideas and I used to discuss them with my late sister, so this project is very close to my heart. She wanted to do it, so in a way I am finishing what she couldn’t do. It’s a project I’ve been living with.
The superhero is actually locally inspired. It’s all about Pakistan. What I can reveal is that it’s not one of those spandex-wearing, running from one-place-to-another kind of superhero. It’s a lot more real.”
It will be great to see Bilal as a super hero and the project will hopefully carry a nice script as Bilal is doing it in the memory of his late sister.
Ace ex-cricketer Wasim Akram has started his own foundation to help the underprivileged. His wife Shaneira Akram is also taking part actively in all endeavours. The beautiful lady spent the third day of Eid with children and distributed gifts among them.
It is a most beautiful way to celebrate as some celebrities have done this Eid. We also should remember the people who need us and not forget them completely indulging ourselves in festivities.

Sharmeen Obaid, the woman who won Oscars twice and made her mark, is all set to go for yet another unique project. Her new project “home1947” revolves around the Indo-Pak independence stories. The name holds immense significance as it depicts what home meant to people of the time and how the two nations living together were like.
“People know me for my political and social work, but in 2007, I thought of this idea and thanks to the Manchester international festival I was given this opportunity to showcase this here in Manchester for 9 days, an unmissable experience for those who want to experience what their families have gone through during the partition, and how they have lived, felt, survived during that period.”
“The idea is unique as it’s not only reflecting the partition, but also all those people who have lost their homes and can’t go back to their homes. The project in itself will bring people from different races and colours to experience what people have gone through during the partition,”
This is what Sharmeen told the media as she explained what her new project holds. She, furthermore said:
“My main motive is to preserve the history of 1947, we are into 70 years of our independence so we don’t have enough people who have experienced partition, so the idea is to either film or write down the personal experiences of those who have seen or experienced partition. Those nations who don’t preserve their history always struggle to find their true identity, so this project will help in preserving our history and acknowledge our true history. I would also love to showcase this project in other countries especially India and Pakistan so more people can come forward with their stories.”
Sharmeen’s new project will project the idea of largest migration ever witnessed 70 years ago and how how difficult it was for people of the time to leave what they called “home”. The best part that will add spark to the documentary is that the two most talented singers ( Sanam Marvi and Harshdeep Kaur) from Pakistan and India will be performing together for the first time ever in the opening scene of “Home1947”.
Rehan Munir had posted advertisement for a house in New York, hoping to find someone to split the rent with, and ended up getting offers he could’ve never imagined.
We all have seen drop dead gorgeous doctors on different TV series, but hardly ever in real life. Let’s be honest, most doctors spend way too much time buried in work than to pay heed to their looks and we are fine by it; after all, they save lives! However, it doesn’t hurt to visit a doctor easy on the eyes, right?
Such a rare species (doctor with good looks) was found in New York, when he posted online, on the Facebook page Gypsy Housin, that he was looking for a furnished room to rent in Manhattan while doing a rotation at a New York hospital.
The 26-year-old medical graduate ended up getting offers of everything from free places to live into marriage proposals. This is what he wrote on the page:
“Hello everyone! I’m Rehan and I’m looking to rent a furnished room on the Upper East Side, Upper West Side or Midtown Manhattan. I’m planning to move in around July 20th and stay till August 30th. My price range is about $800, with some flexibility.”
I’m professional, friendly and easy to live with. Most of all, cleanliness is of utmost priority to me. Please let me know if you have any leads.
Then he signed off with these of pictures, and that’s when the chaos began.
The 26-year-old talked with The Huffington Post, answering the question most of the angrez awam were looking an answer for- whether he is single or taken. He said, “I’m single but trying to focus on my career at the moment.”
Ahsan Khan can pull of just any character with ease, grace and total transformation. He has been impressive in many roles previously but recently, paa Imitiaz has gained much comments. Though nobody liked his character, Ahsan Khan’s acting was remarkable.
He has hosted many programs as well and recites naat in his deep voice. But this is only one side of his personality. The other one is a philanthropist. He has always been very active for charitable causes and made good use of his name and fame by encouraging people to join him.
There is not a lot Ahsan shares from a personal perspective but this Eid, he was very clear in explaining what he believes is the essence of Ramzan and Eid.
He is a very active member of the Rizq team which aids the poor and needy to get adequate food for their families. He believes food is the first thing that should be donated sufficiently in order to avoid people committing crimes and even suicide and we cannot agree more.
He believes Ramzan is here for a reason. It teaches people to look beyond their personal greed and help those generously who are in need of it. He says that as a community, we should look out for eachother and help those who cannot fend for themselves.
Humanity is the number one cause he believes we should all join hands for.
He wishes for everyone to help out the desperately poverty ridden people of our society and put an effort to bring about some happiness to their lives.
His idea this Eid was simply to help those in need, give to the poor and play his very own part in their happiness.

Popular composer and singer Adnan Sami would soon be seen playing an Afghani musician in an upcoming Bollywood movie titled ‘Afghan’. The makers of the movie revealed Adnan’s first look, where he is seen sporting a yellow turban and heavy beard. After having captivated the audiences with his beautiful musical compositions, it would be interesting to see if he can create a lasting impact with his acting skills.

Ohkay so, what an intense episode of Yakeen Ka Safar, I appreciate the idea of extended episodes that the channel resorted to during Eid, it really has taken the story forward & made things quite interesting & fast paced. A lot happened in this episode as well & the note at which it ended had me biting my nails. Even though the episode has just ended a few minutes ago, I am already looking forward to the next one.
So, this episode was all about Daniyal, his struggles & the obstacles that he was facing one after another. Usman did bail Daniyal out but he was so not happy with what he had to face because of the son that he loves so much. Yes, we do understand that Usman was furious because this entire controversy put a dent on his image but then, if we think rationally, it does make us question what’s important for Usman, his ego, his reputation or his son & his well-being? Ever since Daniyal has taken Noori’s case, Usman has only spoken against it, in stead of supporting, encouraging or even guiding Daniyal in approaching this case properly. Usman did speak about his ‘experience’ citing it as a reason why he always told Daniyal not to get involved in Noori’s case, but then again, where was his ‘experience’ when he received Rab Nawaz’s call where he clearly threatened him? Why didn’t Usman’s ‘experience’ tell him that he should be keen on Daniyal’s safety first before anything else as he was dealing with politicians and probably his paid goons too?
Gaiti’s concerns were convincing & understandable, her fear of anything happening to Daniyal was conveyed perfectly. Yes, it was Gaiti who supported Daniyal when everyone was against his decision of standing by Noori’s side but seeing how things went out of control, even she found it hard to support her husband because for her, his safety meant everything & she didn’t want him to go through anything because he means the world to her. I found Faryal’s father’s reaction realistic & convincing as well, there’s always someone in the family who loves to blow things out of proportion & in stead of supporting those who are faced with a difficulty, that particular person chooses to listen to others in stead of giving their own family members a chance to explain themselves. Even Faryal seemed a little put off by the entire incident as if she also was finding it hard to see Daniyal the way she used to before this controversy happened.
It was interesting to see how Daniyal picked himself up & decided to look for more evidences to bring make Rab Nawaz & Jahangir pay for their crimes. Majid was a true friend of Daniyal who not only believed in him but actually knew everything about Urooj. The way Daniyal & Majid approached Urooj’s ex-husband’s family was quite interesting & not only that, they actually found quite a lot of evidences. They both were after Dilawar too but then again, being an experienced player of this game, Dilawar was hard to approach. Sadly, Majid also faced the brunt of being Daniyal’s supporter, he never would’ve imagined that he’d have to pay such a heavy price for standing up for the right & supporting someone who was trying to do the right thing.
Daniyal & Asfand’s conversation was nice, like Asfand was actually realizing the gravity of the situation but more than that, even he was scared for his brother. I so wish Asfand had decided to accompany his brother to the office because Daniyal did suggest that it was a holiday, meaning no one would’ve been in his office anyways. Daniyal was shot but I am still not thinking much about it because I am hoping he will be safe? Let’s see!
Zubiya’s track has become stagnant for now but I don’t mind because there’s so much happening in Daniyal’s track that they obviously had to maintain a balance by making one track a little slow. I find it amusing how Rehan keeps on blabbing about leaving the house because of Zubiya, whereas even he knows that he ain’t going anywhere, that too when he has Sheema in his life who believes her son is entitled to everything that Khalil has. I wish Khalil stands up for Zubiya once again & shows Rehan his right place but he is too engulfed in his own guilt that he really is not in a position to say anything, the fact that Khalil has allowed Zubiya to pursue her studies was enough of a support from his side. So, Zubiya has become a persona non grata & her friends made sure to let her know that they don’t want to be associated with her. It is actually quite sad that every step of the way, every single day Zubiya is reminded of the grave mistake that she committed but what they are showing is the reality because this is exactly how girls like Zubiya are treated. I really want to see Zubiya moving on from this dark patch of her life & doing something good for herself.
Overall, this episode was quite intense & I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. There were some amazing performances in tonight’s episode. Shaz Khan definitely takes the crown for portraying Daniyal’s character to perfection. I really can’t wait to see Ahad Raza Mir in short hair, the fact that his hair not only were all over the place but looked greasy really gave Asfand’s character a very weird look, so much so that I was finding it hard to take his character seriously because his concerns for his brother were spot on. Hira Mani was convincing as Gaiti too & Sajal Ali has been performing well as well. The preview of the next episode seemed interesting, I really hope Daniyal is safe. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Yakeen Ka Safar.

The best part of eid is that the celebrations do not have a time limit of twenty four hours. Rather, the festivities continue to build up over the next two days and the whole week if holidays are planned like that. So we bring here your favourite stars’ pictures as they dressed up for the second day of this biggest muslim festival of the year.
Ayeza Khan and Danish Taimoor looked as fabulous on the second day as the first. Ayeza was dazzling in a cream ensemble with gota work, traditional jhumkis, bangles and straight loose hair. Little Hoorain certainly takes after mummy when it comes to looking so beautiful..
Here is Mawra Hoccane, dazzling as always. This time she is in pink sari by Faraz Manan that is making her look more sophisticated and mature than usual, but very pretty nonetheless. She had her friend’s nikah on day 2 of eid, so double celebrations for her
Sanam Baloch is gorgeous on day 2, all dolled up for her morning show;
Sarah Khan wore the most elegant dress designed by Kalki fashion
Aimen and Minal are wearing traditional trouser shirts and huge dupattas with very modern handiwork on them

Noman Ejaz’s family pictures are always amazing but this one on eid day 2 is just awesome. you cannot help noticing that his eldest son is a splitting image of him and his wife looks so young and beautiful.
Neelam Muneer kept it casual on day 2 and still managed to look so stunning.. in love with her chappals

Syed Jibran has the most adorable kids ever and all dressed in same colour, this man certainly has one beautiful family

Muslims celebrate Eid as a gift that we are blessed with after Ramzan, the gift we all wait for after we fast for the whole month of Ramzan. Celebrating Eid enthusiastically, we give the message of peace, brotherhood and unity to all other religions. It is because of this message that non-muslims cherish the moments of happiness with equal enthusiasm while they celebrate Eid along with Muslims. Here is how our non-muslim celebs celebrate our special day:

Are you an Asian? If yes then you are familiar with the importance of GORA RANG kyunki “Goray rang ka zamana kabhi hoga na purana!”
Asians are known to have olive skin tones. In simple words we are brown; if you have watched all those white vs brown videos where browns are mostly the winners you will know know the concept. But do we accept the reality? Do we accept our brown complexions? I think that is not the case atleast ads on our televisions do not suggest that! Like watch this one:
Okay so we just learnt from the ad that if you are dark your man will start running behind Gori Nisa girls. The amount of such ads pouring on our television screens since decades and these campaigns actually working is a simple depiction ke sabb hojana chahte hain goray goray.
When I was a child I used to wonder during gatherings that why several aunties have vampire like white faces. Is this makeup or something is wrong with them and now being an adult I know what it was. It was neither makeup nor a skin problem. It was an OBSESSION. An obsession to become fairest of all.
We Asians are blessed people. We can wear eastern with matha pattis and jhoomkay or western gowns and jump suits and can look equally gorgeous. In case of men whether they wear kurtay or tuxes they can pull off both because our skin tones complement both looks. But in place of appreciating this fact we got stuck up in Gora obsession and changed our blessing into a problem. What are we teaching our generation that if you are not fair you will not get a job, no rishta for you and success will become allergic to you. Look at this girl below she will get all the attention she desperately wanted by turning herself into doodh malai because apparently the makers of this ad think that chocolate is not likeable?
And Pakistan needs to become GORA!
We did not expect this from you Zubaida aapa!
You will witness this mindset everywhere. Aunties looking for rishtas will choose the younger sister in place of the candidate elder one because the younger one is more fair and can be a perfect Belle for their beast like sons. Even in the entertainment industry many celebrities have taken whitening treatments though they will deny this but the audience have eyes. The top league will always consist of gori chamri wale boys and girls because people of colour are not talented enough right? All of them will deny it but the pictures just talk:
Yes one thing positive done by this trend and mindset is the revenue it is generating for both beauty clinics and psychiatrists. Beauty clinics are scene advertising how they will lighten your skin and will make you look like Angelina Jolie. They have injections, medicines, lasers in short a whole weaponry to kill that melanin in you. This extreme obsession is good for psychiatrists too as it can damage a lot of youngsters mentally. Many teenagers get bullied because kitni kaali hai woh but as we do not think this mere thing can cause anxiety it can be very dangerous to the young minds. They feel out of place and ugly and to be honest once this feeling settles into you; you cannot overcome it even after becoming a mature adult.
The need of the hour is ACCEPTANCE. We have to learn ourselves first hand that it is not wrong to be of colour; to not look very fair. To not call names to a person just because they have a darker complexion than us. To use the foundation of our own shade because zombiness is not beauty. We should spread awareness in the masses and ban the ads showing dark people will just be unsuccessful on personal and professional fronts because they are dark. We have to educate ourselves and our children that their single attempt of making fun of another person will fill them with hatred and sorrow. We have to remember our old Islamic studies that the queen of hoors will be given to Hazrat Bilal Habshi RA and he was very dark.
We need to know that colour is a beauty in itself and just like you cannot be fair like some people; remember they cannot have the golden bronzed beauty that you have. Accept yourself because beauty lies in being what you truly are.
The up-coming drama serial of Hum TV, “Tau Dil Ka Kia Hua”, is scheduled to premier on 2nd July. It stars Zahid Ahmed, Ayeza Khan and Sami Khan in the lead roles. The drama is written by Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar and directed by Shahid Shafat.
Behind the scenes footage of Ayeza Khan and Sami Khan was posted on the drama’s facebook page. Watch the videos to get an insight of your favorite celebrities on the sets.
Faiza Ali has shown her versatility time and again. Recently, she has been proving her mettle more in talk shows as compared to serials or movies.
Thos Eid she was looking absolutely gorgeous in a golden coloured sari draped elegantly over her slim figure and her hair teased in a voluminous updo. She was a guest to A plus on the first day of Eid in the program called A plus Eid special.
This show was hosted by Sundus Khan and the guests included Sana Fakhar, Arif Lohar and Ammanat Ali. When it came to performances by the guests, Fiza stole the show by pretending to host a show like Amir Liaqat. She mentions first to the host that she is just making a fool out of public by offering planes as rewards and then she picks up people to play with her.
What follows is a hilarious imitation of Amir Liaqat by Fiza by pretending to hand away planes like candies.
In her own loud and funny tones, she actually raised some very points which people have been thinking about all through Ramzan when they first came to know about Amir Liaqat’s larger than life presents.
Fiza asks people where they plan to park the plane and where do they get the patrol for it to fly. Also who will drive the plane that you want to win just like that.
Lastly, she says that because she can actually sing better, there’s no need for her to give away the plane since she is most capable herself.
Basically, it meant to show that Amir Liaqat was only doing publicity stunts, otherwise why would he make such tall claims in a game show, while nobody actually walked out of his sets with a plane all through Ramzan.
Here is how Fiza comically expressed her reservations regarding Amir Liaqat’s show ;
The festival of Eid is all about family, friends, fun, food, Henna and clothing. Eid clothing is an integral part of Eid celebrations, therefore everyone puts an extra effort into their dresses. Since celebrities are heavily followed by their fans, their Eid pictures and Eid dresses give everyone a good inspiration and an idea about the prevalent fashion in the country.
This year, white was the official color of Eid since everyone was seen incorporating it into their dresses one way or the other, but it is understandable because this happens to be the peak of Summers in Pakistan. Everyone was seen wearing comfortable and light colored dresses to suit the season while still making the most of the festival. Also for the ladies, Short Shirts paired with Ghararas was the style to go. Here’s a list of all those female celebrities who rocked beautiful dress on Eid ul Fitr, 2017.
Yumna Zaidi
Even though Yumna spent her Eid abroad, she kept the spirits of this festival intact and chose to wear beautiful dresses on both the days. Adorned in Red Golden Shirt and Gharara on Day 1, Yumna looks like a doll. Yumna’s choice of simple straight hairstyle with lesser makeup look definitely complements her the most. The choice of Red lipstick is going with her dress and minimal styling shows that she wanted to keep the attention on her dress only. On Day 2, dressed in a simple White Shirt and Trousers designed by Zahra Ahmed, Yumna brought the official Eid color in the limelight. This time around, she changed her hairstyle, kept her makeup minimum and paired it all with a lot of accessories, which definitely completed her look perfectly.
Hareem Farooq
Dressed in a simple White Shalwar and Short Kameez, Hareem Farooq was seen making the most of the Eid Festival while still keeping in mind the heat of Summers. The pop of Peach/Pink that the Dupatta adds in the entire outfit makes it Eid appropriate. The way Hareem kept her look simple with backcombed half tucked hair and statement earrings definitely give her a very neat look. Hareem Farooq was wearing Shazak Malik’s creation and she surely carried such a simple but beautiful dress with a lot of style and elegance.
Hira Mani
Hira Mani’s beautiful dress is giving us 60’s vibes and the way she has parted her hair, chose a simple lose bun with next to no makeup and very less accessories complete her 60’s look. Even though the light colors of Hira’s dress are Summer appropriate, but the Pink and pop of Gold throughout the dress make it very Eid friendly. We are loving the Gota on her Dupatta, it gives more ethnic look to her overall dress. Hira’s smile and confidence along with her amazing outfit also played a part in qualifying her to this list and she looks simply beautiful.
Anum Gohar
With everyone wearing White for Eid, Anum Goher’s Black dress with a Pop of Red really stands out and the fact that she has carried it with so much of confidence really adds more charm to her overall look. The overall look of Anam is quite simple where it shows that she hasn’t put much effort into everything else that is why her relatively simple dress is still making a statement. The black dress is complementing her fair complexion and colored hair. Traditional embroidery and tassels are giving her dress a rural vibe and it looks beautiful.
Neelam Muneer
Neelam Muneer’s Eid dress is definitely going to inspire all those girls who are going to get married in the near future because her dress is not only beautiful but is Mehandi appropriate as well. Even though Neelam’s dress also has white incorporated into it but the Yellow shirt and Dupatta take it to another level and break the monotony of White that everyone else resorted to this Eid. Neelam also chose a minimal styling which shows that she wanted to keep the entire attention on her dress and she definitely achieved that because we not only love her dress but her overall look as well. Neelam’s dress is designed by Rozina Munib.
Sumbal Iqbal
Dressed in Rema Shehrbano’s creation, Sumbal Iqbal effortlessly made it to this list because her choice of dress was perfect. Once again, Sumbal made it obvious that she had Summers on her mind, therefore she went for a light colored dress. Mint Green Short Shirt and White Bell Bottom Trousers are complementing Sumbal’s petite figure. Hoop Earrings, Red Lipstick and effortless hair styling are giving Sumbal a very casual yet elegant look.
Sanam Chauhdry
Sanam Chaudhry’s dress designer Mansoor Akram proves that Chunari can never go out of fashion and the way Sanam has carried this simple dress with so much of confidence and class makes it even special. Sanam Chaudhry also decided to showcase the festivity of Eid by choosing such a colorful dress which may look simple but is completely Eid appropriate and also complements her young age. Even though we have seen Sanam Chaudhry in quite elaborate makeup looks, this time around, she chose to keep her look simple and added some traditional touches to her look with big traditional earrings, white bangles and cute kolapuri chappals and she definitely looks peppy, vibrant and cute.
Maya Ali
Dressed in Mohsin Naveed Ranjha’s creation, Maya Ali makes it to the list. Everyone knows that Maya is currently in Poland shooting for her movie Teefa In Trouble, so it really shows that Maya decided to put an effort for the special occasion of Eid. We have recently seen Maya in a lot of western looks on award functions and usually in jeans & Tees in BTS photos on her Instagram so to see her in an Eastern look was a nice change. The beautiful shade of Blue complements her skin tone and the frills bring out the feminine side of Maya and make her look dainty and girly.

Take a look at your favourite celebrities!
5. Kanwar Arsalan and Fatima Effendi:
The blue and white ensemble worn by Fatima is soothing for the eyes. The way she kept her look minimal is a great fashion idea for summers. Kanwar spotted a plain white shalwar kameez but the shoes made his look stand out. Fatima Kanwar always look beautiful together and with their synchronized outfits this Eid they have landed spot 5 on our list. And yes their cutie looks super cute with his Eidi.
4. Palwasha Yousaf and Mustafa Jamshed:
The newly betrothed couple Palwasha Yousaf and Mustafa Jamshed opted for simple looks. What landed them on spot 4 is definitely Palwasha’s floral trousers. Who wouldn’t love them and Mustafa’s navy blue kurta is making them stand out as his dark outfit is totally complimenting Palwasha’s light one. Mustafa Jamshed is designer Feeha Jamshed’s brother in case you don’t know.
3. Fahad Mustafa and Sana Fahad:
Look at the way they look at each other. Sighs!!! The couple also chose white for their Eid day and kept their looks minimal. Sana’s earrings are complementing her dress a lot. Even little Fatima knows Mummy Papa are seriously in love and maybe she is feeling like a third wheel in the photo. LOL! Fahad also celebrated his birthday with his family and they all wore coordinated outfits.
2. Ayeza Khan and Danish Taimoor:
Ayeza and Danish never fails to impress. Danish looks handsome in white kurta shalwar with that silver work on it and Ayeza just looked lovely in a light pink outfit. Take a look at Ayeza’s dress and drool like us and don’t forget to take a look at that golden khussa.
1. Urwa Hocane and Farhan Saeed:
This was the couples first Eid and they celebrated with children at an orphanage. Their way of celebration just melted hearts and has landed them first spot on our list. Not just that Urwa’s pink sharara and Farhan all dressed up in white also made them hit the top charts.
Which couple did you like best among these? Comment below!
Ohkay so, this was a special episode of Alif Allah Aur Insaan because it aired for more than the usual time & brought a lot of developments with it, which I thoroughly enjoyed watching. Even though the pace of the drama does seem a little slow but the new developments compensate for it big time & justify the mood of the story.
I think it is because of Baba Jee that Shahzeb has started becoming a little less obsessed with Nazneen. It definitely is because of Baba Jee’s constant reminders that Shahzeb has now understood that he really shouldn’t be too involved in the idea of loving someone or something to such an extent that it only causes pain. Nazneen’s attitude lately has also forced Shahzeb to think that she might not be the sort of a person who would appreciate so much of emotional investment from his side, that is why as the time is passing by, he has eased out a little bit, in fact so much so that even her bizarre attitude & indifference doesn’t bother him whereas I remember it clearly the first time Nazneen snubbed him & cut his phone call short, Shahzeb was quite upset but not anymore, this might be because of Baba Jee’s preaching or may be because he has gotten used to her attitude.
So, Nazneen chose to do what she promised Basit, which was wearing the suit that he brought for her for Eid. At first even Basit’s sister found it odd that she chose to wear a similar dress but then she later found out the actual reason when she saw Nazneen speaking to Basit so casually & explaining why she wore that dress. I liked Basit’s sister in this episode, just like her brother, she is also someone who reasons well & is totally rational in her approach. I liked how Basit’s sister could not only see the trouble that her brother will get involved in, but also chose to remind him of the difficulties that he will face along with the differences between him & Nazneen.
I really felt bad when everyone in Nazneen’s family started commenting on her dress, that too in front of Basit, because even though he has done nothing wrong, he is feeling this mental pressure & is experiencing this inferiority complex only because Nazneen is being stubborn & is putting him in an awkward position. Even though Basit is not guilty & he is not at fault but only because of Nazneen’s one-sided sudden-formed love, he is being reminded time & again of all the differences that are between him & Nazneen. I think before anyone else & for the sake of her love for Basit, Nazneen should at least once think about his perspective, should reflect on his point of view because her friends might have told her that she could eradicate the differences between Basit & her when it comes to love, but the reality is completely different & in reality, things actually are far more complicated than she thinks they are!
Once again, Nazneen chose to show Shahzeb that she was not interested in him or anything related to their commitment. The fact that she chose to wear the dress gifted by him was only because she was spending Eid at her home with her parents & it was her mother who told her that she has to wear those gifts, otherwise Nazneen wouldn’t have bothered. Yes, I did like her honesty when she clearly told Basit that she can’t be a ‘munafiq’ (hypocrite) for loving someone & then getting married to someone else, but then again, apart from that, everything else that she is doing is wrong because she is creating troubles for Basit that too when he hasn’t promised her anything.
So, Fizza Bai’s chapter came to an end. I really thought that Rani dodged the bullet but then Nigar was too sharp to know that the one who wasn’t present in the dinning hall at that moment was Rani, so she must’ve been the one who saw Nazeer & Chaman Begum committing such a heinous crime. It is amusing that Nigar says she can not tolerate disobedience, it’s like she has this garnered this sense of control, so much so that she doesn’t see anyone else as a human being & thinks everyone around is a robot or has to turn into a robot for her to stay in-control of her emotions. I must say, even though that character is meant to be that way, but I just can not stand Chaman Begum, especially because of the way she brings out the worst in Nigar Begum, like she herself heard that Rani was only telling Shammi what she dreamt of, not like she actually came with an intention of causing any harm to Nigar or her position in the brothel, but she chose to twist the reality & presented a twisted version in front of Nigar to rile her up further!
I must say my favorite bits of this episode were all related to Shammi, it was beautiful how he chose to visit Nargis & her friend on Eid. I loved the fact that Shammi didn’t want to earn all that money for himself, because the way he came back & offered financial support to his people went to show that all this while he had this sense of responsibility & wanted to return only after achieving his goal where he could promise some financial support to Nargis on a regular basis. It was heartwarming to see this refined version of Shammi who has not only empowered himself but due to his consistent hard work has enabled himself to empower others too, be it Rani, Nargis or even Rani’s sister Guddi. That entire scene was heart-touching & absolutely beautiful. Shammi also met Guddi & found out everything that he & even Rani wanted to know. I felt bad for Rani because she finally got to know that there’s no turning back & she’d have to rely on Shammi if she wants freedom from this cage that she is currently locked in. Rani finally got a clear cut answer that the shelter that she had, the place that she had in her parent’s home is no more & she has lost the right to be with her family due to her silly mistake & one bad decision. I hope she doesn’t give up & continues to share her worries with Shammi because he will definitely help her. Rani however is still underestimating Nigar because even though Nigar is looking calm & collected from the outside, she is fuming from the inside as she has now learnt about Rani’s intentions that she had when she first came to her brothel.
Overall, this episode was quite interesting & I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. Not even a single scene seemed out of the place & everything was unfolded in a perfect manner. This episode definitely kept my interest alive in the show right from the beginning till the end & the credit obviously goes to the writer, the director & last but not the least, the actors for making it so so so interesting. Imran Ashraf was the star of this episode, like there were very minute expressions & gestures that showed that he was in his element & he owned Shammi’s character. Ushna Shah has obviously given a 100% which shows & she really has proved herself as an actor by performing Rani’s character to perfection. I am actually looking forward to the next episode, looks like despite not wanting to Rani will defeat Nigar, that too in such a race which Nigar wouldn’t have imagined & won’t be expecting. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Alif Allah Aur Insaan.
Mehrunissa V Lub U is a romantic comedy and the funniest thing about it is how a simple message (a little too simple!) has been conveyed in the most complex and even irrational manner, it is full of cringe worthy jokes, it is also crowded with characters which you want to leave behind the second you leave the cinema and the biggest drawback of this film is that the producers have banked heavily on the good looks of the leads and invested very little in the story or the characterization. The film is set primarily in Karachi and unlike Balu Mahi which was like a tribute to the city it was filmed in, this one shows everything from family politics to the politics in the province and completely misses its mark in both the departments.
The hero of the film Ali (Danish Taimoor) is a typical pappu bacha (gora chita always dressed to impress) who returned from China (because UK and US is just too typical) after what it seemed like a complete training in self-defense. His special expertise include carrying his heroine around even if sometimes it can be too much of a burden on his nazuk legs and hugging her every chance he gets! Ali is also a wannabe Mr. Fixit who alongwith all the other people in his mohalla decide to clean their surroundings so that his wife Mehrunisa can get pregnant! The character itself has less depth than the heroes of 3 Bahadur and honestly speaking you feel for Danish Taimoor while watching the film. Danish Taimoor is a brilliant actor but only when he gets challenging roles, every time the producers bank on his looks more than his acting skills, he complete fails! He looks great in the film but his acting is shaky because the character he is playing has absolutely no room for performance.
The heroine Mehrunisa is also one-of-a-kind, she too is dressed to impressed in the film, so much so that even when her hero and all the other characters are draped in shawls and wear heavy sweaters, she has to carry silks and chiffons because heroines are not supposed to feel cold. Also, she is a little too simple, more like a dimwit who just like her hero loves to hug every chance she gets! Although Mehrunisa’s character sounds like the primary character in the story due to the title of the film but the fact is that Sana Javed has no more than ten dialogues in the film. The character itself is the worst objectification of women I have seen in a Pakistani films in recent times. It clearly says that the sole purpose of women is to look pretty and bear children! Mehrunisa has to be one of the most lifeless heroines we have seen in Pakistani films in recent times.
The rest of the characters in the film are just as shoddy as the leading pair. Nayyar Ejaz is a powerful performer who has done complete justice to his role but his character is a mix of funny and evil which comes across as strange. Also, I am tired of watching him being typecast, it would be nice to see him playing a positive character for a change. The cinematography of the film is strictly okay, the director Yasir Nawaz failed to do justice to the beauty of Nathia Gali. The editing of the film is unimpressive as well. The songs have been shot in a very cheesy manner which makes you uncomfortable especially because recently we have seen some brilliant Pakistani films which did not contain so much unnecessary physical contact between the leads but had a lot going for them. Amna Illyas’ item song’s timing and inclusion in the film is also another aspect which makes you wonder what was going through the director’s mind when he not only included this item number but also thanked Amna Illyas especially in the credits!
Mehrunnisa V Lub U has a weak script and direction. The sense of humor throughout the film is sickening. The editing of the songs and the film is unimpressive, there are times when the story lacks flow. Although the film has a lot of songs but not a single one is worth praising. Danish Taimoor and Sana Javed’s good looks alone are not enough to save the day especially because their characters have absolutely no room for performance. It is a typical masala film meant for people who enjoy dirty jokes and pointless cheap romantic scenes. Will the writer please stand up!
Pakistan is home and home is where Eid is. Pretty straightforward.. but throw in work commitments, appearances, promotions and shoots, and you cannot always be home for eid. Such is celebrity life but that doesn’t mean they don’t miss their families and hometowns. So they have spoked to HIP online magazine about how it feels on Eid when they are away from Pakistan.
Bilal Ashraf misses going to Eid prayers with his father the most
Last year, he was not with his loved ones to share the joys of Eid. This is how he explains the experience,
I was actually promoting Janaan. I think I was either in Dubai or London and even though it was amazing internationally representing our cinema, Eid was just not complete,” I think spending quality time with one’s friends and family and above all, offering the Eid prayers with my father early morning is what made me feel so alone. I think all of this is simply irreplaceable.”
Sanam Saeed believes you can enjoy Eid anywhere with the right ingredients
“Work is work and Eid is Eid. And I feel if there’s sheer khorma, new clothes and Eid Mubaraks (wishes), it makes no difference,” the actress tells HIP, who celebrated Eid up-north two years ago, shooting for Diyar-e-Dil. “When you’re not at home, your work-family becomes your family and I think it isn’t too bad celebrating Eid with people who care for you.”
Madiha Imam thinks everyone goes out of their way to please you on Eid when you are working away
“Last year only, I was in India shooting for my film, Dear Maya in India. It was slightly off since I wasn’t with my family and actually working, but my team was kind enough to make me feel at home and brought a cake for my on the sets,” Imam revealed. “And once I was actually shooting in Thailand on Eid as well, so I have had such experiences and I can honestly say that it doesn’t feel like Eid at all.”
Junaid Khan does not think anything can ever compensate not being with family on Eid
“I try my best to celebrate Eid in Lahore with my family. But if I am away for some reason, everything feels really empty,” Junaid shares. “I think the whole point of Eid is to be with one’s loved ones and share the festivities with them. You really miss out on all these personal, family rituals.”
Mohsin Abbas Haider is thankful that now he can afford to go home whether it’s Eid or not
“Well I try to avoid that now, but when I was struggling, I’d spend my entire Eid in my room in Karachi. I wouldn’t have enough money to buy myself a ticket to Faisalabad where my family would be,” Haider opened up about his inspiring journey. “It was really upsetting for the most obvious of reasons, but later when I would have enjoy money to travel, I would often surprise my family. The joy I saw in my mother and sisters’ eyes is simply priceless.”
Anoushey Ashraf is a travel blogger and loves to travel on every occassion and every opportunity she gets. This Eid, she is in Santorini, having a blast

Zhalay Sarhadi wishes everyone a great Eid as she is off jet setting with her daughter on holidays.
Here is her adorable message from the airport , enroute to London
A two-minute, bloody and action filled trailer of “Geo Sar Utha Kay” was recently released. The trailer shows four ambitious men trying to bring a change in Rajanpur. It also portrays friendship, hints at romance, unwavering resolve of four young men, and contains heavy dialogues too.
Shafqat Cheema had summed up the plot of the movie in these words, “It’s a story of how four best friends decide to change the fate of Rajanpur and when one of them is killed in the process, the three vow to avenge and change the system forever. It’s the story of how these young men realise the helplessness of every person in Rajanpur and involve the Punjab Police to help.”
Geo Sar Utha Kay will star Babar Ali, Sheharyar Cheema, Umar Cheema, Yasir Khan, Naeem Khan, Areeba Khan, Shafqat Cheema, Nayyer Ijaz, Ahmad Qaynaat, Rana Rashid and Mehmood Arshad in lead roles and we are curious to see that will a film that seems will take us back to the old Pakistani cinema days and ways, manage to gain public recognition?
Just a day before Eid, on chand Raat, tragedy struck our nation yet again. The unfortunate incident took place in Bahawalpur which killed more than 150 people when an oil tanker caught fire. The people had gathered to collect oil from the leaking tanker and according to witnesses, people smoking cigarettes in the vicinity is what ignited the inferno.
This heartbreaking incident left the whole nation in mourning and dampened the celebrations of Eid. Our stars of the Entertainment Industry expressed their sorrow and reacted to the incident in the following manner:
Its Very Painful Accident at #Bahawalpur 140 Innocent Peoples – RIP.
What a terrible tragedy in #Bahawalpur, and such a sad commentary about poverty, energy insecurity & a lack of proper medical care.. pic.twitter.com/pIlvnbFqIN

Yalghaar the most anticipated movie is co-produced by Sana Bucha. She has transitioned from a journalist to an actress and producer. Recently Sana talked to Images about her movie and this is what she said.
Images: First things first, Yalghaar releases after almost three years in production. Do you think that affects the film’s treatment and execution?
Sana Bucha: I feel the biggest compliment for a film is the viewers to not realise the intermission and from what I’ve heard, the film has a very fast pace, so it doesn’t really lack on any production level. I believe since there are forty integral parts in the film, it wasn’t as easy putting them all together. It’s tough getting dates for people like Shaan, Humayun and Ayesha and then Bilal had to be trained extensively for his part as well.
Also, we had to shoot at cantonment areas, demanding specific forces to act as extras; their availability was also a concern that caused delays in the shoot – we weren’t procrastinating without any reason. Permission was needed to shoot at certain locations and it had to be in accordance to actors’ availability as well. I am not a fan of having a film release after three years of production, but I understand.
Images: Yalghaar marks your acting debut. Take us through your journey with the film as its female lead
SB: It is my acting debut, but I’m not sure if that’s what I want it to be. I was initially a journalist-turned-film producer; I started out as that and I wanted to learn everything first-hand. So with Yalghaar, my part became bigger from what it was. It’s a small, yet significant character. I don’t know if it’ll be able to leave a mark, or if the hoopla surrounding it is as huge as it should be.
I basically play a journalist in the film, which I already am [in real life]. In fact, since I’ve actually covered the Swat operation, I’ve seen real blood instead of fake. In a way, I was familiar with what the film demanded and it was actually nothing compared to what it actually was. The real thing was scary to say the least; to see actual dead bodies and pain, whereas we shot with controlled emotions.
Images: Do you think owing to that reason your performance was more natural compared to the other actors’ in the film?
SB: Who am I to say? I don’t think I have superiority over anyone in the film. However, like I said we were shooting in a controlled environment, where everything was naturally a lot better. All in all, it wasn’t difficult for me to get into the game. One simply cannot compare a film to the coverage of an operation on live TV.
Images: You also play Shaan Shahid’s love interest in the film. How was your experience sharing the screen with him?
SB: You know you get to hear so much about Shaan, but when you meet him and you’re able to connect with him at an intellectual level, you find an institution in him. As a co-star, he made me feel so comfortable. I think to look lovingly and show public affection was the most difficult for me to do and he made it all so easy.
Images: Reportedly, Shaan refused to be a part of the film’s promotions and rumor had it that he only has a cameo in the film. What do you have to say about that?
SB: He is the hero by default. People will buy tickets for him. Something had gone wrong with the way Doc unveiled the trailer and announced that the film belongs to the antagonist instead of the hero. Even though Humayun might even have more scenes, we can’t really glorify evil if it doesn’t develop into good. The antagonist has to die and be defeated. You can empathise with a villain, but he can’t carry the brand of the film, especially when it deals with sensitive issues like Yalghaar does. I think what he said, could’ve been rephrased. I love Humayun, but I really missed Shaan at the promotions.
Images: With an ensemble star cast like Yalghaar’s, do you think insecurities on and off sets can be rationalised?
SB: As far as I’m concerned, I personally don’t have a lot of scenes with the girls, but I was present at two other spells as the producer. And I would’ve actually worried if the actors didn’t know where they were heading or if there was no competition. However, there was nothing ungraceful on the sets, no clawing at each other.
I feel Ayesha has the most significant role in the film and you see the actor in her come out. She’s worked really hard; she’s truly put her heart and soul into the film and had a very challenging role. I feel Aleeze Nasser also had a few very important scenes. They both had characters that demanded good acting. As for others, they didn’t quite have acting-driven roles. You see, you need to know that not everyone can, sometimes having a small role in a huge film is fine.
Images: Do you think Yalghaar’s delay and your production; Quettagetting shelved has adversely affected your production house?
SB: We knew how risky it was since Quetta was naturally based on Balochistan entirely because of security concerns, we weren’t able to release it. Nonetheless, it was a passion project that I am glad I did. I wanted to start small, and acting wasn’t something I was considering.
But then, when you do a film, you do want publicity attached to it and while Yalghaar’s timings really did hamper my future plans, I am waiting to see what advantage or damage it has to do. I have no clue of how it will turn out to be and the feeling of not knowing is frightening.
Images: What kind of films do you wish to take up and do you have anything concrete in the pipeline as of yet?
SB: I think we need political, intelligent films. Narrate stories through the eyes of a journalist and perhaps expose a few people in the process [laughs]. I want to make films that are commercial, yet message-oriented; something along the lines of Raajneeti or 3 Idiots. I feel, Yalghaar in that regard has been a stepping stone for me. I’ve studied journalism and I didn’t go to film school, so I know I do have somewhat of an experience. I know the gene-pool now and it will only help.
I do have two films that are currently in pre-production. We’ll start rolling the first one this September. I already have a very talented Indian actress on board who we will be announcing officially very soon. We have Tooba Siddiqui playing a very important role in one of the two. I am also trying to get a hold of Fawad Khan but I guess he’s already committed to Maula Jatt. Let’s just hope we’re able to have star-studded films come your way.
Images: Lastly, for people who haven’t seen Yalghaar, what can an average cine-goer expect?
SB: It’s a patriotic film, it has great production value and something that I always say is that it’s not Waar. While there is the Talibaan factor, here the storyline is more about the people who end their lives for us. It just comes to us as a news report; we never know them as people or what they’ve left behind. We empathise with Mashal Khan or Qandeel Baloch because we’ve been repeatedly told about them; Yalghaar celebrates the unsung military heroes.
I’m grateful I could give my little contribution to this beautiful tribute. These young men are not just pictures, they’re not faceless. Let’s meet these beautiful people who’ve done so much for us. Allow yourself to feel what they go through; put yourself in their and their loved ones’ shoes. Forget the scenes and the mistakes; what’s most important is what the film conveys.
Sana is the CEO of “Sana Bucha Productions”. Well one thing is clear from the interview there was definitely a spat between Shaan and Dr. Rana. What do you think?
Eid is a day of sweets and family and friends and mehndi and chooriyan and ghoomna phirna for all Muslims alike, and that is what your favourite celebs are doing as well.
Here is some information abut how most of them are enjoying themselves this eid;
Sanam Jung is in Malaysia with her family, spending some quality bonding time with her daughter;
Urwa and Farhan Saeed had the best idea among all stars and spent their day with orphans, and got themselves some serious appreciation in this world and an investment in the next..
Mawra Hoccane shared pictures of the amazing food she is having with her friends and family as she attended her best friend’s nikah ceremony.
So we have just seen episode 8 of zakham and honestly, except for Madiha Imam’s character and her powerful performance, we are just going around in circles here. There was no development at all in the drama except maybe showing Khabarovsk even longer than we first thought and his sister more evil than previously shown and Takbeer’s dad even more unreasonable than depicted earlier.
The only strong point of the episode was when Takbeer rose her voice and refused to apologise to Khawar when three stupidly egoistic men were verbally pouncing on her. They had her cornered but she still stood her ground, for which she was absolutely correct. The way Khawar insulted her mother and banned her from coming to their house again, was enough for any self respecting girl to want to leave that man. But alas, Khawar unfortunately holds the trump card at the moment. He knows how blindly her father trusts him and not his own flesh and blood. Later, when her father was shown regretting being so harsh, failed to strike a chord since he should be more supportive of her daughter when she needs it, rather than feeling sick with his own mistreatment of her in her absence.
And as to why Moosa was standing on the road in front of their car and how they flared in anger on seeing him was beyond my comprehension. How did they judge he is still after Takbeer? Because he is walking on the road when they are coming back from her house? Takbeer’s father and brother are almost at par with Khawar in their stupidness. Maybe even more since he proved to be quite crafty with his pretense as the meek, humble and wronged husband infront of them and they fell fully for it. Later, when Takbeer came out of the bath in distress and Khawar tried to kill the baby was not impressive at all. Faisal Qureshi did not do any wonders to the scene or maybe by now, Khawar is such a disgusting character that even Faisal does not seem likeable anymore.
The only high points of the drama were Takbeer’s behaviour infront of these oppressive men in her family and her conversation with her mother. When she asked her mother as to why she never inquired about her older sister’s anguish in this house, there was a mutual jolt of pain that passed between them and without saying it aloud or blaming anyone, mother and daughter yearned and grieved for Tehreem, silently acknowledging what she must have endured.
One funny thing was that Takbeer’s mother came to meet them the next day and Ahmed was as good as new. No sign of the bandage or wound that created such upheaval in both houses just a night before.
Hope the drama picks any pace now, we have understood quite well that Khawar has a mental illness, Takbeer’s elder brother and father are hopelessly chauvinistic and Moosa’s heart is in the right place but he has no strategy for saving Takbeer which her really wants to do. For last three episodes, drama is roaming around these three facts…
