Adhoori Aurat Episode 4 – A Perfect Episode!

0

Now this was a perfect episode in my view! I have been waiting for such an entertaining episode since the show went on air and this episode finally managed to fulfill all my expectations. I saw the perfect chemistry between Ayeza Khan and Faisal Qureshi which was missing in the previous episodes. The main focus on the episode was on Zayaan and Maryam and how Zayaan managed to convince Maryam to marry him.

At first, Maryam was not at all in the favor of the marriage as she had not gotten over Umair’s betrayal and she was not ready to trust any one yet. But Zayaan was adamant to know the reason behind her refusal and he ended up going to her house to talk to her. Maryam was reluctant to talk to him and clearly showed how unwelcome he was in her house. She was rude and cold towards him but this did not stop him from asking her the reason for her abrupt refusal and she finally gave him the reason that she cannot trust men anymore. Zayaan understood that there was someone in the past who broke her trust and now she is unable to trust anyone else. Zayaan tried to make her realize that all men are not the same but she was not ready to hear anything.

Maryam’s mother was extremely upset about Maryam’s behavior and her refusal for such a good proposal. Both her parents could not understand why she refused to marry Zayaan when there seems to be no problem with him. He is a well reputed person and they do not need his character certificate as he is known far and wide in the city. Maryam has hurt her parents a lot and it is high time that she forgets Umair’s betrayal and moves on in life!

On one hand, Maryam is not ready to marry him at any cost and on the other hand, Zayaan’s mother is emotionally blackmailing him that she would leave the house if he does not agree to marry Faiza. He finally says yes to Faiza’s proposal after coming under pressure from his mother. Afsha and his mother quickly took his proposal to Faiza’s house and they ended up fixing the marriage dates then and there. However, Zayaan did not seem the least bit happy about marrying Faiza because she is not the ideal life partner in his eyes. According to him his ideal partner would be a girl who is self confident and sure about herself. She should not have any kind of inferiority complex and should also know how to stand up for herself. These are the qualities which he liked and saw in Maryam and this is the reason why he took his proposal for her in the first place.

Zayaan’s determination to make Maryam agree to the marriage was seen when he told Maryam’s friend Ayesha to bring her to a restaurant without letting her know that he would also be there. Maryam got angry and upset by his behavior but he calmly tried to convince her to give him a chance. He promised to keep her happy and he also told her that he was being so stubborn because he liked her a lot and she is the only girl who meets the standard he had set for a perfect life partner. This meeting managed to change her opinion about him and she could not help but compare him to Umair and realize how different they both are.

fff

Maryam got fully convinced when Zayaan sent her flowers and called her later to tell her that he knew she was upset after seeing Umair and he just wanted her mood to get better. Maryam found the gesture very heartwarming and she spoke to Zayaan properly for the first time and finally gave her approval for the marriage. The phone conversion was no doubt the best scene of the episode! One thing that I found ironical was when Faiza sent Zayaan flowers; he told her that he does not like such gestures and practically threw the flowers away! And now he himself sent flowers to Maryam! Funny isn’t it?

Fazia seems clearly obsessed with Zayaan and she never minds even when Zayaan is extremely rude to her. I wonder what her reaction will be when he will come barging in the house with Maryam as his wife? I am eager to watch the next episode now! What will be Zayaans’ family’s reaction to his sudden marriage to Maryam? Do not miss the next episode to find out!

Elections 2013- an event again misjudged!

0

blastA nation of donkeys can survive better than a nation that we know as “Pakistan” and if you don’t agree with it, all you need to do is to watch your television screens now. The general elections of Pakistan are nothing but an event of brutally killing the silly people who think they are accountable for this country. I am not a political analyst, I am an ordinary person like you and probably that is a reason I am unable to conclude where this country is heading towards. All I can see is the fact that despite of having all the armed forces around, despite of all the security threats that all of us were aware of, there has had been more than 7 blasts within the country in just last 5 hours.

With the dial showing 8am, almost every news channel started to telecast about the lack of management, staff and material that was a must-to-have ingredient at every polling station and it was only after few minutes later that there were chain explosions all over in Pakistan-except Punjab.

It seems like an Indian movie as the current situation is seriously something which has never been seen in reality. It was expected to achieve a high turnover this time but now that the situation is getting worst every second, there are all chances that the entire idea of general elections would soon come to an end, leaving us with nothing but a high death-toll to cry on.

One question that always clicks me is that how would the political parties provide us security when they are unable to safeguard their own members? How would they stop the kidnap-for-ransom of ordinary people when they cannot protect their own children? I mean come on, what kind of a change are we expecting from our politicians? It is so interesting to see that the candidates, who are targeted by the “so-called” terrorists, manage to stay safe while people around them lose their lives.  What makes me speechless further is the reality that if Pakistan is a victim of terrorism, why is this terrorism only limited to three of the provinces only? Now my silly, stupid brain can find two possibilities for this, either these provinces are way too lenient towards the security measures, or the terrorists in Punjab are happy with the provincial government.

How do you take such an election where you see about 10 blasts in the first half, causing a loss of more than 20 lives and hundreds of injuries?  How can you expect to have a change in a nation whose armed-forces, including its Army is a complete failure? While the manifestos of different political parties still echo hard in the surroundings, there are no hopes within. As per reports, there are some districts where women are not even allowed to cast their vote and we talk about having a democracy!

11-5-2013-PAK-gh7-O

This is a strange country and strange indeed. Here, the president stays silent and out of scene on such a sensitive day and the duty of the Chief Justice and the Chief of Army staff is to cast their vote only. For God Sake I mean, till how long they would keep fooling us and for till when are we going to get kill this way? These are the unanswered questions that are common in majority of the people.

According to the updates, Jamaat-e-Islami, Sunni Itehad Council, Jamhoori Watan party and MQM have boycotted the elections making the election-rigging its reason. The Youth’s Favorite Imran Khan too has shown his dissatisfaction towards the elections and will be conducting a press conference to condemn how elections 2013 have turned out to be. There are no doubts that this day has provided good TRPs to news channels, interesting topics to the upcoming talk shows, and the loss of many lives that have affected hundreds of families.

This country, I regret to state, has got no true leader who can ensure a peaceful life to its people, I have got no clue what these elections will turn into, but the failure of providing security by Army as well, has taken away the hopes that were once associated with Martial-law been imposed!

May the souls of people who left us today, rest in peace,

Blessings,

Zindagi Gulzar Hai Episode 24 – Calm Before The Storm

Let me start by confessing that the excitement with which I look forward to the next episode of Zindagi Gulzar Hai every week was completely missing during this week. Honestly speaking I was not exactly looking forward to being disappointed more. The last two episodes of Zindagi Gulzar Hai did not work for me, although there were bits that I enjoyed but they were not the kind of episodes that would make you look forward to more.

Zaroon and Kashaf finally talked about some of the most important things in their lives today. Kashaf makes Zaroon understand that even if two people are married, they still need some breathing space and trusting each other was such an important part of any relationship. Zaroon and Kashaf both were much more mature about everything today which was a relief and the communication between the two was much better than it had been in the previous few episodes. Kashaf may have married Zaroon but she has not completely made him a part of “her” world. The reason for this obviously is that she does not want to be “rait ki dewar” because she is too scared of being led down. I was expecting Zaroon to start another fight over the loan issue but that did not happen – another thing to be thankful for. Kashaf also did not react immediately when she found out that Zaroon had been reading her mail and later on when they talked about the issue, they resolved it like grown ups.

kashaf letter zaroon 1

Zaroon shares how he felt about not having a mother by his side when he was young with Kashaf in detail and Kashaf briefly tells him about how difficult it was for her to trust men because of the kind of life she has lived. Kashaf may not write it in her diary or say it out loud but it was very apparent from her behavior that she still isn’t sure if Zaroon will value daughters just as much as a son. Honestly speaking, the last scene did not exactly leave me with anticipation to find out what would happen next because I am quite sure that Zaroon will have absolutely no problem with having two daughters. He will probably have something nice to say about having two daughters.

rafia kashaf

Ghazala had a complete change of heart today and she pleaded guilty! Kashaf has proved to be a role model for her which goes to show that she isn’t such a bad person after all…at least not even half as bad as Murtaza – the real culprit who seems to have gotten away with everything. Rafia’s reaction when she sees the roses in the living room was actually very cute. She asks Kashaf who bought the flowers and when she tells her that Zaroon brought them, she inquires “kis liye”!! I really felt for her at that point, obviously when you are married to someone like Murtaza such things do strike as odd!

murtaza rafia

So, Murtaza apologized in the previous episode, handed Hammad over to Rafia and we thought everything was sorted between them but it came as a surprise that Murtaza is not going to help Rafia out with her problems. So, it is still a one way road; Rafia is going to go out of her way and help Murtaza out with his problems but she should not expect Murtaza to do the same for her. It was good however to see Kashaf and Sidrah helping their mother out without even informing her – all parents should have children like that.

asmarazaroon

How many married men and women out there could relate to the line, “Yeh jo tum poochnay se pehle poochti hun na us se mujhe bara dur lagta hai”?  Apparently, Zaroon will only have coffee dates with Asmara only if he does not have prior commitments with Kashaf and the two are not on good terms with each other.  The preview for the next episode suggests that Zaroon’s ties with Asmara will cause a major rift between Zaroon and Kashaf. I hope that the entire issue is handled nicely and Zaroon finally realizes that in most cases the same rules apply to husband and wife both. I have to say that this episode covered a lot of things but it did seem like too little, too late. The preview for the next episode, however seems very enticing indeed, let’s hope that it delivers. Today’s episode can best be described as the calm before the storm. Please share your views about this recent episode.

Cast your Vote and Play your role!

General Elections 2013 are just few hours away from us and the air around seems to have different shades where half of the nation is enthusiastic about using its right and tune the future. However, according to the latest survey that was been conducted by a local news channel, out of 8.5 Million people who are eligible to cast their vote, there are only 2 Million of them who know where their respective polling station is. This leads to an approximation that there is only 23.5 % of the total population who will cast a vote tomorrow as per the latest stats revealed.

BALLOT-BOX-copy-450x238

There are no second thoughts about the risks and dangers that are expected for the big day which is one of the biggest contributing factors in making people sit at their homes and not going out to pay their responsibility. While we see the leaders continuously asking their followers to go out on May 11th and cast their vote, majority of the people are still confused about the thought. Moreover, there is a group of people who thinks that casting a vote is pretty useless because more or less, all the candidates and their hidden policies are same and not in favor of the local people of Pakistan.

What I have today to share with you all is a small message, a small motivation and a small proof. People are talking about the chances of rigging in elections, about the terrorist activities that are the biggest barriers, but what many of them don’t know is the fact that things are pretty different this time.

My mother is a 19th grade Government Officer and she has been given the charge of one of the most risky sectors of Karachi, that is, Orangi Town. Having a person that close in a family makes you much informed; I know that this time things are far much better with high security and well-managed system. This is to make you all remember that your government employees are doing their best to make it possible, they have families too and the risks are equal for them too but when it comes to accountability, we can see people who are up for it. Being the Presiding officer (PO), my mum, with all other presiding officers and their teams have reached their polling stations and will be there for two days, i.e. 10th, 11th and would go back to their homes not before 12th ‘s morning. They have initiated their part, now it’s our turn to feel accountable and take steps towards the betterment of the nation.

We all are also aware that there are influences, strong indeed but keep that in mind that there will be no one who will be watching you while you will cast your vote. Cast your vote to anyone, whosoever, but please make a right decision because by the end of the day, you will have to answer Allah Almighty for your decision.

I Leave you with a thought to consider that if we wouldn’t come out now for our rights and welfare, there are no more tomorrows for the people of Pakistan then!

Cast Your Vote,

 Stay Safe,

Kaash Aisa Ho Episode 15 – Betrayal and Lies!

0

We got a pretty shocking revelation in this episode! I never expected a person like Dr. Bilal to be so selfish. He seemed like a caring, loving and thoughtful person but we saw his selfish side in this episode. He had hurt Minahil so much with his lie as he kept on telling her that she was the one who could not become a mother when in reality, it was just the opposite. Minahil was in a state of disbelief when her brother informed her about her reports being clear but she was not convinced till she saw them with her own eyes. This is when she realized that Bilal had been playing with her feelings for so many years and had betrayed her in the most cruelest manner. Trust is a very important in any relationship and Bilal broke the one thing Minahil valued the most! Upon getting to know the truth, she took the decision of leaving Bilal and left the house.

Shayan is not ready to leave Irfa at this stage and he and Maleeha have a fight over this issue yet again! Maleeha got angry when she got to know that Shayan stopped Irfa from leaving the house. She wants Irfa out of Shayan’s life at all cost! Shayan still has some humanity left in him as he feels he has a responsibility towards Irfa and his kid, though he is rarely there for them when they need him. At least he has the decency to realise that Irfa has no one in the world except him and she needs his support. Also it will never be acceptable to his ego if Irfa leaves him but it will be completely fine with him if it is the other way round.

Adeel Farooqui was seen giving relationship advice to Maleeha yet again. I may dislike him but I can’t help but agree with what he says. He knows just how to handle and react to any kind of situation. Since he is so good at relationship advice, I wonder why his own marriages did not work? I guess his advice would only be applicable to other people!

We saw Bilal getting irritated and annoyed by Irfa for the first time in this episode. After Minahil and his confrontation about the his lie, he was emotionally disturbed and Irfa came at the wrong time and he vented his frustration on her. I would not blame Irfa for going to him again and again asking for help. She does not have anybody else to go to and when Rahima got sick, she quickly took her to Dr. Bilal who refused to help her.
One scene that I loved was Irfa and Nasir’s conversation in the car. Irfa always ends up finding one person or the other when she is in need of dire help. This time Nasir came when she was in need. It seems like nobody is happy with the way their life has turned out. Mahjabeen is still pinning for Shayan and refusing to acknowledge Nasir’s selfless love for her while Irfa can only dream to get Shayan’s love for whom she holds more or less no importance. She realises how lucky Mahjabeen is to have someone like Nasir in her life and she also tells Nasir to convey her message to Mahjabeen.
It seems like something is cooking in Maleeha’s head and she will get Irfa out of Shayan’s life Soon. Irfa’s heart broke when she saw Maleeha announcing on television that Shayan will leave his first wife very soon. Shayan gets irritated by Maleeha’s sudden announcement and goes to Irfa who thinks he has come to announce that he is leaving her. That was not his intention but for how long? It will be just a matter of time before he leaves her.
Okay, so i have had enough of Maleeha’s continuous complaining, Shayan’s careless attitude and Irfa’s constant crying! The story really needs to move on now. So what happens next? Will Shayan leave Irfa for good? What do you guys think? I hope the story picks up some pace in the next episode!

Mirat-ul-Uroos Episode 26 – Review

I was hoping that Hashim, Ayza or Akbari will have a change of heart in this episode or will in some way start thinking on different lines but none of that happened. All of them seem to be happy with the way they are and are doing quite well also! Ayza still gets to have things her way, no matter what. Hashim also fails to take a stand and continues blaming his parents rather than valuing them. Today’s episode’s main focus was Fahad’s birthday and Faraan’s engagement. It was another relatable episode that was very well executed too but I am getting tired of the same message being repeated over and over again.

Fahad’s lavish birthday party and the way Ayza treats her In Laws during the ceremony creates more cracks in the relationship between the two families. It was very evident that Ayza did not want to invite Hammad’s family to the function to begin with because she was very sure that they won’t be happy to see the celebrations. Well, I have to say that her assessment was very right. Hammad’s parents are shocked to see his lifestyle and could not help but wonder that why their son did not have more money to spare for them – a very valid question I would say. Ayza is a true replica of Akbari in every way – selfish and stubborn, what a bad combination.

I really enjoyed Faraan and Akbari’s conversations today despite of the fact that there were times when I felt that Faraan was being a little too blunt. We found out more about Akbari’s past life in today’s episode. She seems to have lived a very comfortable life despite of her selfish behavior and that is exactly the reason why she still wants her own way no matter what the circumstances.

Aima’s attitude towards Ayza was spot on today. She gave Ayza a piece of her mind and there wasn’t much that she could stay in return. Ayza’s father also puts his foot down and asks her to change her attitude towards her in laws. I am glad that he did that but the promo for the next episode suggests that there is absolutely no change in Ayza’s behavior at all. Ayza accuses Aima of ulterior motives, which was nothing new really because she has been saying all this for quite some time now.

Aima finally talks to Faraan about Hamnah and I am very sure now that these two will end up getting married. That is something I want to see happening. The promo of the next episode suggests that Nawaz breaks off the engagement himself – good riddance I would say! But I also got the feeling that Akbari will hold Faraan or his parents responsible for the broken engagement. I have started wondering now that how many more episodes to go because Ayza and Hashim show no signs of changing and the drama cannot possibly end until they do. I have to say that the fazool kharchi factor, although very relatable but has been done to death now and I want to hear and watch something new.

Silvatein Episode 14 – One thing leads to another!

0

I absolutely enjoyed the episode thoroughly. It was like a complete package which made me giggle at times too. I must say the writer has done a wonderful job in conceiving these characters & has beautifully executed the misapprehensions, confusions & happiness that each one of them goes through. This episode was based more on the aftermath consequences in regards to something that stirred in the previous episode. I loved how each one of them reacted differently to something that does not even exist or has started to mean something to Rayaan only.

Of all the scenes I just loved Rayaan’s & Zeb’s the most. Their chemistry, their timing was perfect & at one point I felt they make a great on-screen couple. I loved their kitchen scene where Zeb shed off her frustration on him & he kept calm because he knew she has been in such an awkward position ever since she came to US, so now it was the time when she had to let go off all the negativity that she has absorbed in these past few days. Rayaan stood their like an obedient mate who is ready to take anything that comes at him. His little gesture to make peace with Zeb was too sweet & I must say that Adeel Hussain & Amina Sheikh nailed that scene where she is trying to get rid of him but he is actually longing to spend sometime with her. Those minute expressions, those glances & those dialogues were perfect to the perfection.

I feel bad that the character of Natasha lacks even an ounce of positivity. I guess that was the plan that we shouldn’t see anything good in her, but we’re through more than half of the serial & all we have seen about her is how shallow she is. I guess the writer is saving something better for the last but I still doubt that even after such a detailed & long exposure to her negativity we’d be convinced somehow that she still has something good in her.

I hate to see Bilal being treated as a doormat. I know he is a kind-hearted, too-much-in-love kind of a husband, who – being youngest was treated in such a manner all his life that he didn’t need to stand up for anything because his family members held him closer to their hearts, understood him & vice versa. But Natasha is pushing all the wrong buttons & is mean to the core. When she ‘thought’ Bilal talked her parents out of Zeb-Rayaan wedding, she treated him with the respect just for a few seconds that he deserved through out, but later when she found out that things didn’t go the way she had wanted, she stooped to such a level & crossed all the limits that any husband would tolerate. I actually feel sorry for Bilal but I think he should sternly make Natasha understand what her position is & what’s his. Natasha blames Zeb for being materialistic but in reality she is the one who’s filled with materialism & for that particular reason she can not extend any such respect to her husband because he is not at a financial state where she had expected her husband to be.

The funniest scene was of Zeb’s parents. Their excitement, their visit to Rayaan’s mother’s & their awkwardness. It was all so sweet & realistic because any parents would want their daughter to get married to such a decent guy like Rayaan. I’m glad that everyone in the family especially Munize has understood the difference between Natasha & Zeb. Now everyone knows what Natasha is capable of & she is going to be in some deep trouble. Whereas, Rayaan, who hated Zeb like anything has started to find her opposite to what he had presumed about her. All the family members are getting the chance to get to know Zeb up-close & in person where Natasha is not their to cloud their opinions. Hence, Zeb will eventually make a place of her in every ones heart.

I loved the episode & special mention would be about the dialogues which are written with attention & perfection. I must say – hats off to the writer for handling such a story induced with so many small & rapid confusions & yet every time coming out of them so smoothly.

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

Few Reasons Why I Won’t Be Voting For PPP

0

Yes it is strictly everyone’s personal matter who we decide to vote for but we also have to bear in mind that our votes will collectively decide the fate of the entire nation. For this very reason it is very important that we make informed decisions and vote for the party who we think will be able to fulfill its promises and take our country out of this difficult situation. I am not going to mention here where my loyalties lie but one thing I know for sure is that I am not going to be voting in favor of the Pakistan People’s Party and I have some very solid reasons to support my case which I am going to share with you. Please feel free to share your thoughts. The reasons are as follows:

Pakistan People’s Party did nothing for the country or even the democratic process during its five years in tenure. Five years is a long enough time for a party to prove itself but PPP did nothing to make the life of the common man easy. Forget about the common man, even people who are affluent found it extremely difficult to cope with the energy crisis. Businesses suffered badly but despite of all this the PPP chairman still claims that PPP worked very hard to keep the economy stable in the most trying of times…a claim that makes me laugh!
Pakistan has parliamentary system, which means that the Prime Minister is the head of the government and is the main executive authority in the state but the changes that were made by Musharraf turned the Prime Minister into a puppet and the President exercised the executive powers. The PPP government did not amend the clause and the president continued enjoying the powers which are not rightfully his in a parliamentary system. The entire tenure of the PPP government was based on one man show. The five years of PP’s tenure were nothing short of torture in every sense of the word. There was insecurity, injustice and price hike beyond limits.

What is a party without a leader? Yes, this is a very strange but true fact that PPP lacks proper leadership. The party that was once known for its charismatic leadership seems to be lacking a proper leader who can communicate with the masses or represent the party properly. All those leaders who were very close to Benazir Bhutto were relegated to the background soon after her death and although Benazir’s son Bilawal “Bhutto” Zardari was made the chairman of the party but the fact is that he is only 20 years old, has absolutely no experience regarding politics and is merely being used as a pawn. What is worse is that it is common knowledge now that Bilawal and Zardari have been having disagreements and that is the exact reason why Bilawal did not even mention his own father when he addressed the nation and is not even going to be here in the country when the elections take place. Zardari has failed to rise as a true leader and others are probably not allowed to take a lead, which suggests that there are bifurcations within the party and for this very reason I don’t have high expectations from PPP.

zardariI don’t agree with the “Kabar ki siasat” theme of PPP’s election campaign. I am not going to talk ill of the dead; yes Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s charisma was unmatched and Benazir followed in her father’s footsteps and both of them were murdered in cold blood but ENOUGH ALREADY. For how long is PPP going to rely on the “shuhda” and keep on expecting people to give them sympathy vote. Why don’t they have any new leaders to show for? Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto will always be remembered in history as great political leaders but how can the PPP keep on asking people to vote for them when they are no longer alive and how can the voter say that they will vote for Bhutto when Bhutto is no longer alive. Can we please bury the dead and let them be at peace. The fact that PPP has to rely on kabar ki siasat goes to show that they have nothing else to their credit, which is very sad!

PPP’s slogan does not appeal to me at all because they did not do even half of what they promised in five years of their tenure. I agree, no political party has ever come up to the expectations of the people or has kept all the promises that it made during the elections, it is not humanely possible because there are external factors involved which may be out of anyone’s control but PPP has made a mockery out of its own slogan by going against everything they promised. Roti Kapra aur Makaan…anyone out there who got these three easily while PPP was in power? Maybe they should replace it with bijli, paani aur gas. Ilm, sehat, sab ko aam…this reminds me of all the doctors’ strikes and the government’s failure to resolve the issue. Dehshat se mahfooz awam…I cannot even count the bomb blasts that I have personally heard during the PPP tenure. The government’s inability to deal with the situation was nothing hidden. The mobile phones signals disappearing for days was the only solution the government could come up with. Ooncha ho jamhor ka naam…there is no democracy within the party itself so expecting them to promote democracy on the national level would be expecting too much.

I am sorry if I offended anyone with my arguments but consider this article more of venting out than anything else, you should feel free to do the same.

Saud.

Let’s Talk About Politics

0

The elections are just around the corner and this time around it seems that the political parties have put in more effort on their elction campaigns than other years. The reasons for this are many; PML (N) has not been in power for quite a long time and they will put in any amount of effort to get as many electorates on their side as is possible, PTI stands tall as a dominant political party which goes to prove that they have done their homework well and want to get substantial seats in the upcoming elections or maybe bag themselves an eminent position in the central government. PPP is one of the very few governments in the past few years which managed to stay in power for the entire tenure and would not like to be defeated in these elections too. MQM maintains its position as a party that only gets votes from few regions alone and manages to form coalition governemtns every now and then. The real competition for the central government seems to be between PML (N) and PTI more than any other party. There are of course parties like Awami National Party (ANP); which is only popular in the Khyber Pakhtunkhawa province. The PTI seems to have worked hard in order to win the hearts of people in that particular province and may prove to be a threat to the ANP and Jamaat-e-Ulema Islami-Fazl ((JUI-F) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), which have always been neck to neck in the same region.

Sadly, the politics in Pakistan has usually been personality dominated. Most often people vote for personalities rather than what the parties stand for. Very often the electorate is not even well acquainted with what the party promises to do if it wins the elections but they vote for candidates solely because their loyalties have been with Nawaz Sharif or the Bhuttos for years. This time around Imran Khan is making his presence felt too and his charismatic appeal will also be the reason because of which many people may vote for him. Very often people give sympathy votes as well, people may vote for a party because it was ousted out of power in their last tenure or the leaders were exiled, people feel the party has been victimized and vote for them out of sympathy. A major part of the political campaigns of the parties are based on accusations which are followed by cross accusations and politics in turn becomes a very dirty game. The Election Commission of Pakistan requested the parties to avoid such accusations this year but that did not change much.

Lets take a look at what the leading parties have to offer; what is it that they have promised to do if they come in to power. Unfortunately our political history is full of many broken promises but nevertheless I think people have the right to know the manifestos of these political parties so that they can make a more informed decision.

Let’s start with Pakistan Muslim League (N); the slogan of PML (N) is “Hum Badlein Gay Pakistan” – Strong Economy – Strong Pakistan. The above statement is self explanatory; PML (N) intends to concentrate on economic development once it comes into power and will focus on agricultural as well as the industrial sector. This in turn would lead to a more economically viable Pakistan which PML (N) promises in the future. Anyone who is interested in reading the manifesto in detail can do so by clicking on this link

PML N

Pakistan Tehreek -e- Insaf stands for “Justice, Humanity and Self Esteem”, as the name of the part indicates justice is most important to this party and it believes in providing everyone with equal opportunities. PTI is a party which boasts of democratic foundations and promises to bring justice to the common man and give the common man his self esteem back. It vows to put an end to corruption and establish a new system that is transparent. PTI promises a “naya Pakistan built on Iqbal’s dream and Jinnah’s vision”. PTI

Pakistan People’s Party maintains the same slogan which it has carried for many years; a promise of the main provisions of livelihood for one and all “roti, kapra aur makaan”. Quite intestingly while all the other parties have quote Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal in the beginning o their manifestos, PPP has quoted Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto in theirs. PPP vows to protect the people of Pakistan from external and internal Terrorism, promises accountability and has explained in detail what its policies are going to be regarding different provinces and Pakistan’s ties with other countries. Here is a link where you can read the manifesto in detail

PPP

Tell me honestly, how many of you actually read these manifestos before deciding which party you are going to vote for and if you haven’t gone through what a particular party promises to do once it comes in to power, how did you decide who you are going to vote for?

Dil-e-Muzter Episode 11 Review – Annoying Zoya!

0

A completely shocking episode! Zoya has managed to create havoc in Silah’s life! Silah has started to get irritated by Zoya’s constant interference in their life and she feels insecure with the new form bond between Adeel and Zoya. Adeel has a very high opinion of Zoya now and he keeps on taking her side whenever Silah complains about her interference in their life. Adeel has still not stopped taunting Silah about her job and her inability to fulfill all her duties as a wife and mother. Adeel thinks Zoya is doing them a huge favor by taking care of Affan and the house. Little does he know that Silah is fully compensating Zoyafor her ‘help’!

Zoya leaves no chance to fill Adeel’s ears against Silah and Adeel being unaware of Zoya’s real intentions believes everything that she says. Zoya’s ulterior motive behind all her help is pretty evident now. She is clearly interested in Adeel and leaves no chance to spend some alone time with him. The scene where Zoya and Adeel are talking and Zoya tells him that she is stubborn since childhood and always gets what she wants clearly had a double meaning. Her eyes are now on Adeel and she is playing her games to create misunderstandings between the Silah and Adeel. Honestly, she is getting on my nerves now!

I am surprised to see that Silah is still acting so patient with Zoya. She is clearly annoyed and angry at Zoya but is still trying her best to ignore her nosy behavior. She clearly did not like Zoya making changes to her house and when she tried to tell Zoya about the inconvenience she caused, Zoya emotionally blackmailed her and Silah dropped the topic. She was also not comfortable with Zoya making food for Adeel and for both of them to spend so much time together. It is funny how at first Zoya refused to take money from Silah and now she herself asked Silah for such a huge amount and the surprising part is that Silah does not even ask her why she needs it. She just gets the money and gives it to Zoya. And the irony of the situation is that Silah gets taunted by Adeel for spending money so carelessly and she could not even tell him that she was giving the money to Zoya as Zoya has told her not to as she wants to maintain her good impression on Adeel.

The worst scene of the episode was when Zoya came to Silah’s house with sweets and congratulated her and Silah had no clue what she was talking about. Zoya then made a surprised face and announced the good news about Adeel getting a job and Silah was totally heartbroken to hear this news from an outsider. Zoya was the first person Adeel gave this news to and this hurt Silah as she had expected him to tell her first. Her eyes spoke volumes in this scene. She was angry, upset, disappointed and on the verge of crying all at the same time. Sanam Jung was brilliant in this scene. Silah did not complain but simply asked Adeel why he had not told her about this news himself and Adeel again replied in a taunting manner. Adeel apparently thought that she would be too busy in her office and he did not want to disturb her! What is wrong with this guy? He leaves no chance to taunt Silah about her job.

What shocked me the most was the way Zoya had started to treat Affan! The poor baby was left crying half the time and Zoya did not even bother to look after him. The scene where she tells her mother to give Affan cough syrup so that he sleeps was pathetic! I hope nothing happens to him!

The preview for the next episode seems very interesting. A lot of twists and turns are coming up ahead and I am really looking forward to them! Silah has finally gotten the sense to hire a maid for Affan instead of leaving him in Zoya’s care. It’s about time she made this decision! So who else is tired of seeing Zoya’s constant interference in Adeel and Silah’s life? Do share your views!

Keep watching the show!

Sanam Jung and Furqan Qureshi to pair in an upcoming Drama Serial!

After attracting a considerable audience from her serial Dil-e- Muzter, Sanam Jung is now all ready to keep her followers entertained with an upcoming drama serial featuring Sanam Jung and Furqan Qureshi. The OST has been sung by Atif  Aslam and has already created a hype on social networking sites. It is yet difficult to state much about the venture as  the production house hasn’t revealed anything about it. What can be seen in the OST is enough to deduce the story of the project which seems to revolve around two people who belong to two different mediums.

It would be interesting to see Furqan Qureshi as an actor, as it is, audience is talking about the fact that the two of them really makes a cute couple.

Here is an OST, enjoy,

Meesha Shafi to be seen in “The Reluctant Fundimentalist”!

From award-winning director Mira Nair and based on the acclaimed novel by Mohsin Hamid, comes the explosive new film, ‘The Reluctant Fundamentalist’, which will be hitting Pakistani cinemas on May 17, 2013.

In 2010, as student demonstrations rage in Lahore, a young Pakistani professor Changez Khan (Riz Ahmed) is interviewed by American journalist Bobby Lincoln (Liev Schreiber). Princeton-educated Changez tells Lincoln of his past as a brilliant business analyst on Wall Street. He talks of the glittering future that lies before him, his mentor, Jim Cross (Kiefer Sutherland) and the beautiful and sophisticated Erica (Kate Hudson), with whom he was set to share that future.

reluctant-fundamentalist1_350_120412055754-300x192

In the aftermath of 9/11, the alienation and suspicion he is suddenly met with leads him back to his homeland and the family to whom he is very close. Leading us through the culturally rich and beguiling worlds of New York, Lahore and Istanbul, ‘The Reluctant Fundamentalist’ is an exploration of bias and the phenomenon of globalisation that is both brilliant and unsettling. HKC Entertainment is releasing the film in Pakistan and Encyclomedia PR will handle the PR.

“Dil Mera Dharkan Teri”-Revival of Pakistan’s Film Industry?

0

There was a time when Pakistan’s film industry seemed more like a joke where the actresses had everything to show except their acting skills, and the heroes were all limited to the roles of “Gujjar” and “Chaudhry”, yes, that was a misery, but thankfully, things have changed in the last 10 years. Today, as most of the audience sees it, the nation is coming up with polished products that are appreciated not only within the country but also abroad.

images

I did share a news about Tarang’s house full upcoming telefilm “Dil mera Dharkan teri” that  went on air  on May 3rd and surprisingly, the telefilm was far much better than my expectations and the feeling compelled me to jot down a few points to share with you all.

Note:For those who missed the show, here is a link from where you can see the remake of old Pakistani film “Dil Mera Dharkan teri” starring Ahsan Khan, Sanam Saeed and Sarwat Gillani.

http://www.dramasonline.com/tarang-telefilm-dil-mera-dhadkan-teri-on-geo-tv-3rd-may-2013/

Been directed by Mehreen Jabbar, the telefilm had everything to make it stand somewhere with Indian levels if we talk about good acting, pleasant graphics, effective editing and well-done costumes. By comparing the project with a good Indian entertainment venture, all I mean to say is that our entertainment industry has now reached to a point where our “once-loved” Indian movies stand nowhere in the race.

The remake of “Dil mera dharkan teri” is a good effort in reviving the film industry where the actors have given their best to make it a hit.  I was amused to see Sarwat Gillani in the role of Saira and the fact that she  is truly a versatile actress if you compare her acting skills as ‘Zoya’ of Dil-e- Muzter with what she had brought on screen in the telefilm.

Untitled

As stated, the telefilm had all the ingredients to make it a hit, to be specific enough, from its direction to it production, from Ahsan’s natural personification of the character to Sarwat’s outstanding performance and yes, one thing that needs applause here is the role and acting of Sanam Saeed as ‘Beenish’. I loved her in every next scene for the reason that she knows how to make audience hate her and love her simultaneously.

432943123_640

Your opinion might differ from mine about Sanam’s performance in the telefilm, but what is quite noticeable is the reality that she can fit in any role, any character;changing her accent, her looks, her expressions and what not which is obviously a stand-alone quality of a good actor.

The telefilm also had few songs that are done pretty well. In the song “Qubool Kerlo”,Sanam’s  appearance resembled to that of Deepika in the movie ‘Race 2’, which further add some spice as watching her that way is something viewer are looking for after watching her in the role of ‘Kashaf’ in ‘Zindagi Gulzar hai’ .

sanam saeed

All in all, the two-hour telefilm was surely not a disappointment and in fact, such ideas have opened the new doors in the entertainment industry where audience looks forward for such projects. It is easy to conclude that after the controversial phase of promoting foreign content, Geo TV has played it safe to come up with the House Full series.

Humsafar – The drama & The novel

0

Starting from the times of Ptv,novels have always been adapted and dramatized for our tv audiences.None of these dramas has gained the immense popularity that Humsafar earned. Humsafar is based on a popular novel by novelist and now drama writer Farhat Ishtiaq. This drama has fans all over the world and many credit it with reviving the Pakistani Drama Industry.Having read the novel and seen the drama adaptation,I thought it would be interesting to share with you differences between the drama and the novel

1- Sara’s character

In the novel Sara was just a cousin of Asher who liked him and wanted to marry him,she was never shown to be his business partner or working with him.Although Naveen Waqar portrayed the character brilliantly, however, she could not match the physical description given in the novel i.e. being very fair skinned and beautiful yet finding no favour with Asher.

2- Khizar’s character

In the novel Khizar was just a pawn used for creating mistrust between the lead couple Asher-Khirad. He wanted to pursue studies abroad but didn’t have the money. He was sponsored by Fareeda aunty and Sara’s mother in return for his ‘favour’ to them. The novel never saw Khizar interested in Sara nor did he ever return once he moved abroad for studies

3- Age difference between Asher-Khirad

Asher of the actual story was atleast 7 years older than Khirad and because of the age difference he suspected Khizar-Khirad relationship as he mistook that she might have mental compatibility with someone of her age.Notwithstanding how much we love the lead couple of drama, their age difference did not appear much.

4- The apartment and the house

Once Asher gets to know that he’s a daughter who’s seriously ill and needs treatment,he moves his wife and daughter to an apartment not his own house.

5- America & Northern Areas

The novel was set somewhere around 2006 wherein Fareeda Aunty goes to Northern Areas for doing earthquake relief work from the platform of her NGO. In the drama, we see her leaving for USA.

6- Self-realization & Khizar spilling the beans

It was self-realization on Asher’s part that Khirad can never be unfaithful to her after which he comes home and finds the letter while in the drama Khizar tells Asher that it was a plot hatched by Fareeda aunty, sara and sara’s mother with his help.Later on,he does find the letter.

7-Forgiveness

After finding out the truth,Asher stoops down to Khirad’s feet and asks her for forgiveness. No such thing happened in the drama.

Apart from these,Hareem had a bigger role to play in the novel where she was quite fond of dressing up and having mehndi etc which was not shown in drama. If you find any other dissimilarities between the novel and drama do let us know.

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan becomes COMMON between PML-N and PTI!

Elections are finally upon us and the country seems all busy in election campaigns. Where the youth knows which court their future lies in, the remaining ones have their own ideologies to follow. If you are a Television freak and keeps a track of new channels, you must have got by now what this article is all about. Yes, you got it right; the open war between the two political parties has finally a mutual player, who is earning from both ends. Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, one of the best singers of the nation, is now no more behind in the race and has contributed with his vocals in the elections 2013.

Untitled

The paid political content that is been aired on every next channel you switch to, is something really huge to be an opportunity where the channels are making more than Billions for the telecast of political campaigning. It is to be noted that Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has sung for the promotional advertisements of PML-N and PTI both.

While the reason was still unknown, it was Salman Ahmed, Singer and Supporter of PTI, who finally asked Rahat about the reason of singing for their rivals, and guess what, Rahat replied:

“For IK’s love and for NS’s money.”

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has casted his vote to the two parties and got facilitated from both of the ends, and you? Are you ready with a cause to support? Have you decided that whom are you going to give your vote? If not, then it’s a high time,

Cast Your Vote and make sure that the right man wins,

Sadia Imam’s Online Wedding- A good morning show activity!

0

Morning shows have always been a part of our entertainment industry no matter whichever time period you take a look on. With the changes in values and customs of the nation, the morning shows and the strategies to earn high TRPs have also changed significantly. It was recently that ARY digital came up with an unusual idea of celebrating Sadia Imam’s wedding all over again on Television and perhaps, the morning show succeeded in having 5 days of  wedding activities, keeping the viewers bound with everything the channel could add to make it spicy enough to be followed.

What amused me greatly was the fact that  Sadia Imam, along with her husband cashed the opportunity to its fullest and came into limelight, which for sure, Sadia Imam needs the most. To get some light and appreciation, it was seen that many celebrities turned up in the event, showing their love and dedication towards Sadia. Out of many, it was Ahsan Khan and Reema who kept their hands full on over the celebrations and it is no more difficult to guess Reema’s appearance in the show after watching her as an American tourist guide which is obviously a shining-opportunity for her career. There were other celebrities like Moamar Rana, Shahood Alvi, Kiran, Nadia Khan, Rambo and Sahiba, Saud  and Javeria, etc.

Here are a few clicks from the show that kept revolving around Sadia Imam previous week.

Adhoori Aurat Episode 3 Review – The Rejection!

0

This show really needs to pick up some pace already. It has been three episodes but not much has happened so far and the engagement fiasco should end already. Maryam’s mother was reluctant to tell Ajji about Maryam’s broken engagement even now that she knows Umair was not the right guy for Maryam but Ajji makes her understand that it does not matter what other people say and Maryam deserves someone better than Umair. Maryam’s mother’s only wish is that “Jo Bhi Mile Pyaar Karne Wala Aur Qadr Karne Wala Mile” Maryam is aware that her mother is the person who got affected by her broken engagement the most and tells Ajji to take care of her mother while she starts her new job.

Afsha and Zayaan’s mother are pressuring Zayaan more by the day! He does not seem the least interested in marrying Faiza but they still keep forcing him to marry her. The reason why Afsha is so adamant to get them both married is because of the pressure from her in laws. Faiza seems like a spoiled brat as she is smallest in the house and she wants only to marry Zayaan and her mother and brother are trying their best to fulfill her wish. Afsha wants Faiza to impress Zayaan and that is why she sends her to his office to be a part of his project to educate the less privileged people. Zayaan is shocked to see her at his office and his attitude becomes cold and he behaves very rudely with her. I felt a little bad for Faiza today because of the way Zayaan was behaving with her. She then goes home and gets extremely upset as she feels humiliated by the way Zayaan treated her. Her mother consoles her and assures her that Zayaan will agree as he loves her sister a lot. Well, he did agree to marry her according to the preview for the next episode. We are yet to know the reason as to why his mind changed all of a sudden.

I was expecting some spark between Maryam and Zayaan during their first meeting but it seemed like only Zayaan was the one who got impressed with Maryam while Maryam did not seem the least interested in him. She actually found him pretty annoying and he did not manage to create a good impression on her. Zayaan got more and more impressed by her when he heard her views and ideas and he liked the input she gave for their new project. He admired her dedication towards the project and invited her over a coffee but she refused him on his face! That scene was brilliantly depicted as it was the first time Zayaan received such a cold treatment from anyone. This incident increased his liking towards her and he decided to send her a marriage proposal.

Afsha and his mother clearly refused to take his proposal for anyone other than Faiza and this led to an argument between the three but Zayaan being the stubborn one decided to take his proposal himself and this shocked his mother. She realized that she may lose her son if she sticks to her decision and agreed to go to Maryam’s house to take his proposal. Maryam’s parents seemed impressed by Zayaan and were ready to agree to the proposal but Maryam clearly told them to say no! Everybody was shocked at Maryam’s decision and Zayaan’s mother felt insulted and humiliated at the abrupt refusal. Even Zayaan was shocked and confused at her refusal and wanted to know the reason behind it. Well, I personally think he should have at least spoken to Maryam about the proposal before going to her place. She just went through a rough patch in her life and needs some time to recover before she starts thinking about marriage again.

Overall, the episode was engaging but it needs to pick up some pace now! Faisal Qureshi was once again at his best while Ayeza also did a great job. Maheen Rizvi’s acting is also improving and I liked her acting in this episode. The preview for the next episode seems interesting. Lets see what is in store for us next!

Till Next Week!

Zindagi Gulzar Hai Episode 23 – Clash Of Egos And The Khushkhubri

The clash of egos continued for most part of this latest episode and most of the things that Zaroon said in today’s episode sounded very contradictory. He told his father that the reason he was mad with Kashaf was that she did not ell him about the proposal, after his father talked to him he also accepted that he was the one at fault but later on he told Kashaf that the reason he was so angry was because she had told sir Ibrar everything that had happened. He also said later on that it was her mistake and she should have made the first move and set another rule to guide them through the way!! Zaroon was being completely childish today but it was nothing that was not relatable. I am sure there have been times in everyone’s marriage when one of the partners may act unreasonable and the other one may not be willing to give in too. Sara finally gets married and despite of all their differences, Zaroon and Kashaf manage to put smiles on their faces when they are around people but also exchange meaningful glances whenever they can.

sara's marriage

Some of the scenes today were quite nice and I actually found them funny and relatable as well. One of them had to be when Zaroon decides to swallow his pride and tells Kashaf “achi lug rahi ho” but when she doesn’t give him a positive response he decides to cancel the lunch and thinks to himself “itni bhi achi nahi lug rahi, hud hoti hai batameezi ki”. Kashaf and Zaroon made up soon enough when Kashaf tells Zaroon that she was expecting and honestly speaking I was left wondering what was the purpose behind showing the misunderstanding between Zaroon and Kashaf when it was not going to change anything between them or change them in any way.

Kashaf’s pregnancy should have come as a good news to her but try as she may, Kashaf cannot get over what she has gone through all her life, all her life she has been made to feel like a lesser human by her own father  because she was a woman and unconsciously she also thinks now that she needs to have a son in order to be accepted by her In laws and maybe the society, although she knows only too well that Zaroon and his family members are very different from Murtaza but she will need more support from Zaroon. She needs to be assured that Zaroon will be there for their children and in the next episode, Zaroon will do just that.

kashaf zaroon

I agree that Nigaar in no way is the perfect mother; she really is one of those women who spend more time being concerned about what is going on in the neighborhood than what goes on in her own house but Murtaza or Hammad in my opinion were not really in the position to judge her parenting skills. Yes mothers have a big role to play in their children’s upbringing but fathers have a very important role to play as well. Hammad is mature enough to know his own acha bura and he isn’t a little child who needed guidance every step of the way. Muratza showered him with gifts all the time despite of his failing grades and now he holds Nigaar responsible wholly; I would most surely call it scapegoating. “agur meri maan bhi parhi likhi hoti tu mei bhi laik faiq hota” sounded like a very wrong thing to say. Nigar all of a sudden has decided to turn to Rafia for every possible thing. Rafia, no doubt has been an ideal mother in every respect but I wonder if it is such a good idea that now she will be raising Murtaza’s children as well. Finally Murtaza apologized to Rafia and she also said everything to him which she had not said all her life. Rafia’s long struggle has won her the acceptance and recognition that she had never even dreamed of.

kashaf in laws

I have a question, what did Asmara want to talk to Zaroon about? That particular scene came out of nowhere. And why is it okay for Zaroon to meet her ex fiancé without informing his wife? Doesn’t he owe some “loyalty” to his wife as well? He did question her loyalty to him when he found out about Osama. Anyway I guess we shouldn’t be asking such questions now because it looks like all is good between Zaroon and Kashaf now and it will stay that way.

Today’s episode had a great deal to offer but somehow Rafia’s “triumph”, Zaroon and Kashaf’s patch up, Kashaf winning over her in laws and Sara’s happy ending failed to leave the impact that I was hoping they will have. Share your thoughts about this latest episode.

Silvatein Episode 13 – Natasha’s Worst Nightmare

0

Poor Natasha, she brings it on herself. Despite having such an adoring and may I add, sexy, husband she is still so pissed and moody all the time. Even when Zeb was comfortably away in Pakistan helping out Dilawar, Natasha could never crack a smile. Such people make me feel sad for humanity really but hey, maybe she’s going to change in the end.

The thing which touched my heart most in this episode was the way Muneeze behaved. Unlike her brothers, she does not get intimidated by Natasha and when Natasha came to her house, she did not hesitate to give her a piece of her mind. After all, Natasha has some guts! Banning Muneeze from coming to her house and then showing up at Muneeze’s doorstep as if they are best of friends. Muneeze truly is an admirable person, who found it in herself to forgive Zeb who appears to have truly reformed.

I was also glad to see that Mikaal and Zeb continue to be friends, despite the breaking of their engagement. I felt that their friendship, one borne from a common desire to help others, was much more important. Perhaps, Mikaal was only meant to be her friend, who was not fully at ease with Zeb and her freedom.

It was ever so dramatic when Natasha was cruelly and unfairly sending Zeb back to Pakistan (while Natasha herself was the one to blame for the scene at Muneeze’s house!) and Rayaan stepped in and revealed that he wanted to propose to Zeb. Rayaan and Zeb will make a perfectly cute couple and I hope sincerely that they do end up married, despite Natasha’s earnest efforts to the contrary.

Another thing which should happen is that if they do get married, they should totally get another house, away from the crazy Natasha. Natasha is a real piece of work and I cannot imagine how someone could be so mean and angry all the time. It makes me shudder to think of how their childhood must have been. Sisters should always love another and moreover avoid petty rivalries. Otherwise, these rivalries grow so much that they make you completely horrible people. So for everyone out there, give your sibling a great big hug!

As for the serial, let’s see how it turns out. We have a real storm coming when Mikaal and Zeb’s parents get to know of the proposal. What do you think? Should Zeb accept Rayaan’s proposal and find her own happiness? Tell us in the comments!

Mirat-ul-Uroos – Episode 25

There was a great deal of development in the story in this latest episode and all the different tracks seem to be heading towards the conclusion. Each episode of

Mirat-ul-Uroos gives me so much to talk about that I am not very sure where to start from. Hammad finally started getting tired of Ayza’s fazool kharchis and told her how he felt about it every chance he got. Ayza like always thought she knew better and didn’t listen to a word of what Hammad had to say. Hammad also realizes that in the past few years things have changed drastically; he has lost the respect and position he had in his mother’s house and the realization that he was no longer the apple of his mother’s eyes or the respected older brother he once was, was nothing short of a shock for him. He obviously thought that his family would continue having a high opinion of him and let him have a say in what goes around in the house even after everything he did. Hammad’s family has moved on and it was actually great to see that. It was actually very surprising to know that Hammad’s family did not even tell him about his younger brother’s result.

Aima feels envious of her sister after meeting her and wonders if it really does pay off to be selfless and sacrificing. Ayza had been so selfish after her marriage but she still had a wonderful, carefree life whereas Aima had to struggle very hard although her intentions were always good. I have always enjoyed Aima’s conversations with her mother; they always strike as very real to me. It was perfectly natural for Aima to feel that way. Hashim finally seems to have matured and now has a job which everyone is happy with, not only this their family has grown. Aima’s patience and perseverance has paid off and she has made a very special place in the heart of all the members of her new family.

mirat

How interesting and apt was the discussion between Hamnah and Rafia about superstitions. I am glad the issue was addressed because since day one Rafia was continuously going on about good and bad omens.

murFarhan’s character was a good addition to the story; he is straight forward and definitely takes after his mother and Aima more than Ayza or daddi. I wish though that we didn’t have to listen to the same issues being discussed over and over again. Yet again there was a big controversy in this episode regarding Farhan and Joey’s engagement. Farhan didn’t want a grand function and Joey wanted one. Nawaz and his wife were bent on getting their only daughter engaged to a guy she had nothing in common with and all this time I was left wondering why they were so desperate. They resorted to cheating and lying in order to get the two engaged thanks to Akbari’s advice of course! There was very big change in Nasir’s behavior this time around, he did not let Akbari convince him to do something he did not want to and for once he put his foot down. It was good to see that he had learned his lesson well and was not going to repeat the same mistake which he did when he was marrying Ayza. Akbari is still the same and I don’t think she is ever going to change her ways.

Farhan sees through Joey and suspects already that she may not be very eager to live in Pakistan and the next episode is probably going to be more about Farhan/Joey and Hammad/Ayza.

One thing which I could not help but notice was that almost everyone (the men and the women both) were wearing the same shade of lipstick ;). The makeup artist could have done a better job. Otherwise this episode was very entertaining as usual and I am looking forward to more…25 episodes and still counting!!

Feeling Sad? Read This….

0

No matter how blessed, positive or upbeat a person is, every now and then everyone feels gloomy. There are times when all of us don’t have the strength to go on with life; the reasons for feeling this way can be many. It could be because we have just lost a loved one, are not feeling well, someone we love is unwell, things are not going the way we had planned, there are too many problems to which we do not have the solution or simply because you get up one morning and feel sad. Yes, there are times when we feel sad and lonely for no reason at all. What do you do when you feel this way? Do you try and get yourself out of this state of mind or do you let it take the best of you? Every time I feel sad I try and gather myself up as soon as I can, although it is not easy but the following things that I am listing below help. It would be very nice of you to take out some time and go through what I have to say.

When you are feeling depressed, tell yourself tomorrow is another day. Yes this is the first trick in the book for me, no matter how wrong things are today, there is always tomorrow to look forward to. I remember when I was a little girl I used to love the song “tomorrow tomorrow I love you tomorrow because you are always a day away”. It made perfect sense to me then and it still makes perfect sense to me now. No matter how tough life is today and how sad you may feel tomorrow is going to be a brand new day which will give you the energy and strength to start afresh.

Count your blessings. We hardly ever sit down to count our blessings on daily basis, in our hearts we are all thankful that all is going well for us but how many of us actually sit down to think about the things that we should be thankful for. Next time you feel dejected, sad, despondent, low-spirited or downcast do try and count your blessings. I am not in the favor of comparing oneself with others but sometimes it does help. Compare yourself to those who are less privileged, the people who have to work day and night for bread and butter or those around you who are not as blessed as you are. It will definitely make you feel a lot better and maybe a little grateful too.

Think of days that were worse than the one you are having today. Yes comparison again, when you think things could not get any worse and you can’t find a way out of things then think of the days when you had more problems. This way you will realize your strength and also understand that all bad days end and there are good times ahead.

sad3

Read something inspirational. I always read inspirational quotations or a short novel that will motivate me to look ahead and get over the sadness. Simple quotations like “Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened” make me feel good very quickly.

Talk to someone you can pour your heart out to. Not everyone is lucky enough to have a sibling, parent or a friend whom they can confide in or are so close to that they do not have to think twice before sharing with them how they feel. But if you have someone like that in your life, you are very lucky and I suggest you make the most of it. Talk to that person, get it out of your system and you are sure to feel better.

Write down how you feel. If you have no one talk to, write the way you feel or anything you want to on a piece of paper. Sometime writing your thoughts down can actually give you solution to your problems and if nothing else it gives you a chance to vent out.

If you have kids around you, spend some time with them. Spending time with children can be very therapeutic sometimes because you don’t expect anything from them and they give you a reason to smile.

sad6

Get out of the house and be around people who you know love you. When one is felling sad, you don’t usually want to go out but if you push yourself and go out and be with people who are closest to you, you will get some positive energy from them that will help. You don’t have to share how you feel but all you need to do is to be around them.

Last but not the least, here is something that will definitely help.

Kaash Aisa Ho Episode 14 Review – Irfa Gets To Know The Truth!

0

Another heart breaking episode! Situation is taking turn for the worst for Irfa as she faces new problems and hurdles every other day. Just when she thought Shayan’s attitude was finally improving and he had started caring for Rahima and her, Maleeha came and gave her the news that she and Shayan had gotten married. This news shattered her and broke her heart! She had not expected Shayan to take such a drastic step without thinking of her and Rahima! I do not think Irfa should have expected anything else from someone like Shayan. He had never stuck to one thing in his life as he needs change all the time.

Shayan has started to get irritated by Maleeha’s attitude, constant demands and mood swings. He is not the type of person who would tolerate such a behavior and this is the reason why he stopped going to Maleeha and spent more time with Rahima and Irfa. Even irfa was surprised at this sudden change and was happy to see Shayan spending some quality time with her and Rahima. She finally felt that her family was complete now that and her dialogues reflected her feelings:

“Bohat Acha Lagraha Hai Tumhara Rahima Aur Mere Saath Hona. Aisa Lagraha Hai Meri Duniya Mukamal Hogaee Hai”

But her happiness was short lived as Maleeha came to pick Shayan up from his house and forced him to come with her. Shayan was again seen lying to Irfa as he did not tell her that Maleeha had come to pick him up. However, Irfa got to know that Shayan had lied to her when Dr. Bilal told her that he had seen Shayan with a woman in the parking lot. Irfa’s attitude towards Shayan changed after that and they had another fight. He again told her that he had made a mistake when he married her and his words once again left Irfa hurt. According to Shayan, Irfa always complains about everything and as an artist he needs his mind to be at peace. Shayan only cares about his own life and his peace of mind. He just does not care what other people go through because of his careless attitude.

It is good to see Dr. Bilal and Manahil happy in their life and I look forward to their scenes. Dr. Bilal is such a caring and loving husband and never complains about not having kids. Manahil herself makes such a big issue out of it even when Bilal has told her a million times that he does not care if they have children or not. Manahil’s attitude towards Irfa has also changed as she went so far as to invite Irfa to Bilal’s birthday. Bilal seemed surprised and happy to see the change in her attitude and compliments Irfa that she managed to create a place in Manahil’s heart which is a big feat in itself. Irfa laughs off at the compliment and tells him that she does not know how to make place in anyone’s heart and in reply Bilal said a beautiful line:

‘Jo Insan Khud To Ehmiat Deta Hai Woh Dosro Se Ehmiat Pata Hai’

If Irfa would start giving importance to herself then automatically other people would also give her importance. She just needs to change her outlook on life. Well said Dr. Bilal! Let’s see if Irfa would change herself after Shayan’s betrayal.

Irfa was extremely hurt after getting to know about Shayan and Maleeha’s marriage and in her emotional state; she took the decision to leave the house. However, Shayan refused to let her go and tried to put some sense into her. He told her to think about Rahima and her health as she needs his support for her treatment. He failed to show a bit of remorse on his decision to marry Maleeha and created the subject very casually as if it was not a big deal at all!

Adeel Farooqui is trying to put some sense into Maleeha and tried to make her understand that she cannot expect Shayan to leave his daughter and wife for you as they have been a part of his life way before you had come in his life. If at this point, he leaves them then somewhere in the future he can also leave you for someone else! It was the first time I agreed with Adeel Farooqui. I doubt he would take much time to leave Maleeha if she keeps on pestering him about everything!

Irfa would not leave the house because of Rahima and it does not seem like Shayan would change or feel guilty about his decision anytime soon. So what will happen next? I am curious to know how the story will proceed now. Let’s see what is in store for us!

Till Next Week!

Dil-e-Muztar Episode 10 Review – Zoya’s Double Game!

0

I am speechless after watching this episode! Zoya has turned out to be such a huge disappointment as she left no chance to add fuel to the already burning fire. Adeel was already very upset with Silah because she started the job without his permission and on top of that Zoya kept filing him ears against Silah. She exaggerated things on her own and told Adeel a totally different version of what Silah had actually said and she managed to hit a sore point. She kept on telling him that Silah thinks he is not able to fulfill his responsibilities and provide for his family and he likes to laze around all day. She kept on making him aware what a big favour Silah is doing on him by working and how hard it is to manage the house and job at the same time. Adeel being the egoistic kind could not digest Silah talking about him in such a manner and his attitude towards Silah started to become harsher than before. He started being more stubborn and impractical and refused to cooperate with or support Silah in any manner.

photo(81)photo(82)

Silah on the other hand is still being utterly naive and is unable to understand Zoya’s real intentions. Sometimes even I do not understand what Zoya really wants? She seems interested in Adeel and is fascinated by the love she had seen between Silah and Adeel and I think she wants the same for herself. Zoya is also brainwashing Silah and keeps on telling her that Adeel does not care about her and Affan but Silah still has enough sense in her not to doubt Adeel’s intentions. She cares about him even after the way he is behaving with her and although she is upset with him, she does not show it. The scene where she tells him to come and eat food and he behaves childishly and refuses to eat but she still insists for him to eat shows how much she cares.

Capture

A lot of changes happened in the month after Silah’s job started. Zoya and Adeel have started to form a friendly relationship since he spends the entire day with her around. At first he used to get very irritated with her coming to his house all the time but now he does not mind and welcomes her whenever she comes. Adeel is also fine with Silah’s job now and has stopped his childish behavior. He has even started to help her out with the chores. The scene where he makes tea for her in the morning was extremely cute. I was surprised to see the drastic change in Adeel. Another scene which i loved was when Silah was going to an office party and Adeel complimented on how beautiful she was looking! Finally we got to see a normal scene between them and I was glad to see the glimpse of our old loving Adeel.

It was about time Silah realized how close Zoya and Adeel were getting by the day. She finally started noticing Adeel’s changed attitude towards Zoya and it disturbed her. Well Silah, she spends the entire day with your husband. What do you expect? It upset her to see Adeel and Zoya enjoying each other’s company so much and she became a little insecure and reluctant to leave them alone. It was about time she realized that something was not right! Zoya has created a very good impression on Adeel as he thinks she is doing everything for them without any selfish motive. Little does he know that Silah is actually paying her to take care of Affan! Zoya was reluctant to take the money at first but Silah wanted her to keep it and insisted so she kept it but on the condition that Adeel would not get to know about the money Silah is paying her.

Ahmer has turned out to be very supportive and helpful and he was the one who encouraged her the most when she needed motivation. Adeel should have been the one to motivate and support her but he was too busy whining on her doing the job! We also know a bit more about Ahmer now. Apparently his first marriage did not work out and his wife left him. The preview for next episode seems scary to me. What is wrong with Adeel? There is something cooking between Adeel and Zoya and I am curious to know what will happen next!

Hum TV Award Function – Why All The Indian Influence?

0

Mahira Khan explained the eight years of Hum TV in the following words, “khawateen o hazrat aj se aath saal pehle Hum TV nay apne aik aise khandan ka aghaz kiya jis ki bunyadei hamari saqafat, ikhlaqiat aur qadron pur rakhi gayee” …kash ke in qadron ka khayal yeh function organize karwate huve bhi rakha jata. To be honest Hum Tv really is one of my most favorite channels because they provide their viewers with quality entertainemnt but it would have been so much better if all the ikhlaqiat and qadrein were kept in mind while organizing the award show as well. The award show undoubtedly was a very grand affair and it was very well planned too. The only problem with the show was that all the naacha gaana on the Bollywood tunes seemed entirely out of place in a function that was meant to celebrate eight years of a Pakistani channel. I gladly fast forwarded the scenes with all the dances and still found the function equally entertaining. Why are our functions incomplete unless we dance on a few (very cheap) Bollywood tunes? Pakistani music has a lot of variety and we have some great tracks and live performers who can entertain the audience and the viewers just as much so why do we blindly follow India? When Mahira Khan came on the stage it almost felt like she had left half of her dress at home. Mahira is such a pretty lady; she would look just as prettier without showing so much skin. The good part was that she had learned her lines well and so had Meekaal but the jokes were very bland and mostly failed to make me laugh. The Joke about Sarmad Khoosat and Umera Ahmed facebook wars was the most funny of all the jokes.

hum awardshum awards1

Mehwish Khan and Ahsan Hayat’s dance performance was very shocking; I used to be a big fan but not anymore. It seemed like these people who were trying so hard to look like the actors and actresses from across the border appeared to be a bunch of wannabes and utterly disappointed me. Humaima’s dance performance seemed like an item number. I only watched it for two minutes and very soon realized that it was not worth wasting time on. What was even more disappointing and upsetting was that so much effort had been put into this awards function and overall the categories, hosting and editing was wonderful but the actors dancing to Bollywood tunes turned this award function into anything else but a family affair. I could see the embarrassment on the faces of some of the old actors who are more conservative while these vulgar dance performances were going on. What are we trying to show to the world? Maybe that we are very modern but in showing that we forget to represent the Pakistani people, the real people. I am sure many people from across the border watched this function and laughed and probably thought Pakistanis had no identity of their own because it did look like an Indian style function with Pakistani faces. This function did not represent the viewers at all who are the ones who were going to watch the show and watch the plays that air on the channel.

ah mehwishahs mehiwshahsan mehwishhumaima

Watching such awards makes me wonder that is there a dearth of good singers or songs in Pakistan or we have made up our mind that if we do not follow in the footsteps of India we will not be cool enough. So what if we appear like total fools in the process. Watching this award function should have left me with a feeling of pride but it didn’t because I can only feel proud if I see my own talent and culture being promoted. It wasn’t a surprise that Anwar Maqsood made a shot appearance and left, he probably could not take it all just like any loyal Pakistani who has invested his whole life to promoting what truly represents Pakistan.

Fahad Mustafa, besides Hamayun Saeed was the only person who performed on Pakistani songs other than that all the other actors and actress appeared to be crazy Bollywood buffs. Why do Katrina Kaif or Kareena Kapoor and other Indian actress have to be part of jokes in our shows? We make fun of our own actors and actresses and show just how much we are impressed by Indian actresses. Did you watch the awards? Do you think they looked more like Indian awards rather than Pakistani ones? Would you have enjoyed the function just as much if there were no dances on Indian songs but some live performances from our own artists? Please share your views.

Saud.

Rehaai Episodes 6 & 7

0

So we take a time leap in episode 6…it’s been at least 4-5 years since the last episode as Kulsoom now has 3 girls and oldest (Rabi) seems to be about 4. Vasim has been having an open affair with Noor Jahan (NJ) for all these years and NJ’s mother seems to be content, whereas I am thoroughly appalled at her. Chacha disgusting sold his daughter to Vasim for 30K rupees, but a nikaah was involved (although the legitimacy of that nikah is debatabl). Khala disgusting is knowingly and willingly letting her grown, divorced daughter (with a son) have an illegitimate relationship and that too in her own house…and all fo this for money and expensive things. I shudder to think what would have happened had Chacha disgusting married Khala disgusting!

Vasim is wasting all of his money on NJ and Khala disgusting, while his own family (2 wives, 3 daughters, and a mother) are left with little or nothing. He comes home every few weeks and wants his kids hidden away. As Shamim is getting ready to sell her earrings and other household stuff, we hear lines like pata nahi hum auratein in mardon ki itni mohtaaj kyoon hoti hain?”  Vasim wants to marry NJ, but Khala disgusting will not allow it until he signs over his store to her.  I’m sorry but this entire storyline is completely unnecessary, not to mention the acting of Nosheen Shah as NJ and Khala disgusting. The writer will really have to justify this story line and it better be something other than the entirely predictable scenario in which NJ shows her true colors, Vasim is left without his store, and money, and at the mercy of his two wives and mother.

On the Akmal front, he seems to be doing really well for himself. His father has passed away, and Akmal is still completing his education while taking care of not just his family, but also Vasim’s.  He is also using his own money to run Vasim’s store. He convinces Shamim to let Kulsoom complete her education and starts tutoring her again.  While Akmal is tutoring Kulsoom Vasim comes home seems drunk actually) and starts being abusive to everyone including Akmal.  He then leaves telling them that he is marrying NJ. Episode 6 ends there.

Episode 7 starts out with Vasim complaining to NJ about Kulsoom studying. She clearly showing the background she comes from) suggests that Akmal and Kulsoom are both young and good looking and are clearly having an affair (takes one to think like that) behind Vasim’s back making a fool out of him. Vasim at first says no and he knows Akmal since he was 10, but NJ is quite convincing and has him believing her.

There is a death in Shehnaz’s sister’s in laws and Shehnaz and Shamim go to Hyderabad for condolences, hesitantly leaving Kulsoom alone with the 3 girls. Shazi gets a fever and faints. Kulsoom goes out and calls Vasim’s cell but NJ picks up and doesn’t let her talk to Vasim even after hearing Shazi fainted. NJ hangs up and we find Akmal was standing right behind her (that wasn’t predicable at all). He takes Shazi to the doctor and brings her home. Meanwhile when Vasi wonders who was on the phone NJ doesn’t tell him what happened and even suggests that Kulsoom was calling from Akmal’s phone. Vasim goes home to find Akmal and Kulsoom alone and all hell breaks. Shamim and Shehnaz also show up at that time.  Vasim starts strangling Akmal and even ends up hitting his mother and Shehnaz.  He tells Akmal to give the keys to the shop to him. Akmal throws it at him and leaves. When Shehnaz hears Vasim’s accusations she has had enough and thrown Vasim out telling him to never come back. (This by the way was one of the 2 saving graces of this episode).

Vasim tells NJ what happened and she does the “I told you so’ scene. She also asks “waise teri biwi ko sharm nahi ayi us se chakkar chelate hue?” Hello Pot, my name is Kettle! In the morning Khala disgusting reminds Vasim that there will be no nikah until his store is in NJ’s name as Haq Mehr. Vasim goes to Chaha disgusting (why is he still alive is beyond me) and wants him to be the peacemaker between him and his mother. Tells him about the non-existent affair between Kulsoom and Akmal and Chacha disgusting believes him. What else can we expect from someone who sells his 11 year old daughter?

Meanwhile Akmal is now getting into a small business with a friend. His mother is still mad at what happened and says “kabhi kabhi to dil chahta hai ke us Shamim ko khari khari duna doon.” Umm, she just did like 7 minutes ago…did the writer forget or was there an issue with editing?

Shamim has now decided that the women will work and take care of themselves so they don’t have to depend on anyone. Chacha disgusting shows up and starts yelling at Kulsoom. Shamim (and this is the other saving grace of the episode) tells him off like there is no tomorrow and tells him to never come there again. She also tells him to tell Vasim that she will break his legs if she ever sees him near her house, uttering “aisa beta hone se beher hai Insaan be aulad rahe.” She has said this before also and I’m offended on behalf of men like Akmal. Why couldn’t the writer compare Vasim and Akmal and instead of going to the extremes say something like ‘Beta ho to Akmal jaisa, warna na ho…?’  There was a great chance to show a son in a positive light, yet it passed.

Episode 7 ends with Vasim’s 3rd marriage to NJ as he has finally transferred the store in NJ’s name.

I’m sorry this review is not very positive but, seriously episodes 6 and 7 were highly predictable and very unimpressive. Rehaai started out very strong and even with extremely nauseating scenes, was commendable. However now it has just become another run of the mill story where women are victimized. I’m really happy that women empowerment through education and work is being shown, and had the focus been on that instead of the unnecessary storyline of Vasim and NJ, it would have been better. There was no need to show that ‘aurat ki dushman aurat hi hoti hai.’ Nosheen Shah did not at all impress as NJ. I found her to be extremely unbearable. Samina Peerzada excelled in her role though along with Danish Taimour.  I do feel like Rehaai has become more about Shamim’s struggles than anyone else’s. Maria Wasti was only there for 2 scenes I believe. Munawwar Saeed was wasted in this episode. Why did Vasim go to Chacha disgusting to make peace with his mother is beyond my understanding. Even Vasim knows how much his mother hates him, so why did he think she would listen to him? Farhat Ishteaq has proved to be a great novelist, but episodes 6 and 7 prove that this should have been written by a strong writer who has already written for television. Not whose novels have been made into dramas.

It is very early though so maybe it’ll get better.

Sasha Agha and her Intimate scenes in a Bollywood Movie-Threat to our Culture?

0

Picking such topics and writing over them is always something I avoid the most; probably because the readers often find the content either bold enough to be discussed or find the critics been overdone. However, it seems more like a duty to share all the must-know facts and  happenings that are related to our celebrities and showbiz industry to keep our readers updated. What I have today to share with you all is a news that will surely leave you with a thought to consider.

I recently shared a news announcement about Salma Agha’s daughter Sasha Agha and the fact that she will soon be seen on screen in a bollywood movie “Aurangzeb”.

Note: Read more about the project here : https://reviewit.pk/salma-aghas-daughter-sasha-agha-makes-her-debut-in-yash-raj-film-aurangzeb/

While I was searching more about the movie, I came across some sites where Sasha is been discussed for the intimate scenes that she has done with Arjun Kapoor, who is the male lead in the movie. The clips were quite shameful as I take them and knowing that our site has some rules and regulations to follow, censoring of the clips was the first thing that was done.

It is a pity that although belonging from a family that has earned a lot of respect for its talent in the field of acting and singing, Sasha Agha seems quite comfortable in doing such bold scenes in the movie. If you take a look on the song that has also been sung by her, you will notice that the line that distinguishes glamor from vulgarity has crossed all the boundaries that should be strictly followed.

Salma Agha is one of those celebrities who are still cherished for not their work only but for the morality and ethics that they ensured on screen, however, watching her daughter in an avatar that completely opposes to the customs and traditions that the home country follow was an unpleasant experience.

There is nothing new about the story as it is becoming more like a trend that Pakistani actresses go to India and take the name down of the country by selling themselves on screens, whether it is Meera, Veena Malik, Sara Loren or Sasha Agha now.

Pakistan is a country having 60% of the liberal people who are at ease with some romantic scenes been shown on screen but the fact still remains that being a Muslim country, the audience want to see their celebrities following at least some lines called “limits” on-screen and on a serious note even the law of the country disapproves the anything that becomes a source of promoting vulgarity.

It has been seen that Pakistani actresses who try earning respect with indecent ways in India lose their career in Pakistan as Veena Malik is a good example of this. About 70% of the audience hates Veena Malik for her boldness and this means the end of her career in her home country. The news about having Salma Agha’s daughter as an emerging talent was welcomed by most of the readers few hours back but her fan following within Pakistan is in danger if we take the previous trends into account. Fair enough, Sasha has got her first break with Yash Raj Films which itself speaks quite much about the intimate scenes she agreed to do.

What makes this article worth reading is the fact that it is now important to question our celebrities about the ethics that they must follow. Will all of our celebrities going to sell their dignity on screen just for the sake of some money and popularity? Are we going to take them back open arms when they would return to Pakistan after giving some bold, low-budget  flop movies?

It is a point where all of us should start thinking that how we actually want our culture to look like.

Save your culture, raise your voice,

Blessings

Salma Agha’s Daughter, Sasha Agha Makes her Debut in Yash Raj Film “Aurangzeb”!

0

Salma Agha is one of those senior celebrities who still shine much brighter than the new ones if we judge the two on the basis of talent and work been done so far. How amazing is the fact that just like other celebrities, Salma Agha’s daughter is now all set to rock the entertainment industry , following the footsteps of mother and will soon be seen on screen showing her acting and singing skills like Mum. Sasha Agha, belonging to a historic family in the field of acting and Music is now making her debut as an actress in Yash Raj’s “Aurangzeb” across the border.

The movie “Aurangzeb” is directed by a debutant Director Atul Sabharwal, and the cast consists of Arjun Kapoor, Sashaa Agha, Jackie Shroff, Amrita Singh and Rishi Kapoor. The movie has a song “Barbadiyan”  which is also sung by Sasha and according to the spokeman of Yash Raj Films, Sasha has done justice with the song for her voice is really melodious.

While been asked about her experience in the field of acting and singing, Sasha showed her interest and revealed that she want to be like her mum. She said:

“I have learnt singing from my mom and I don’t plan to give it up because I am very passionate about it. I want to make a career in acting and singing simultaneously.

My great grand father was Jugal Kishore Mehra, who was Raj Kapoor’s uncle and married to famous singer Anwari Begum. My grandmother Nusrin Agha was a well-known singer as well. So in a way, I am the fourth generation singer in my family,”

Aag TV goes off-Air after 7 years

0

If you are a TV freak and loves to follow music and the programmes that revolve around empowering the youth of country, you must have noticed that the sole channel which was called to be a channel of youth, Aag TV  is no more reaching out to you. Yes, the news is correct, Geo Networks has suspended the broadcast of Aag TV on the basis of the fact that the channel was not attracting viewers as it should have been to attain respectful TRPs’ which it once used to have.

The channel has now gone off-air and has been replaced by Geo’s new product known as “GEO Kahani” which is still running under test transmission. While I was going through the official blog of the channel, I found that audience had many questions about why actually the channel only supported the “Fire Records” and nothing else. It is obvious, that they, as viewers want to see every taste of entertainment on a platform which runs under the slogan of empowering the young generation.

It is important to mention that the channel has given some magnificent dramas and finest actors like Dreamers, Ishrat Baji, etc. which turned out to be as the productive platforms from where actors like Annie and Shehzad sheikh emerged.

Due to the foreign content craze, Geo TV has already lost many of its viewers and such a step been taken by the network is still unpredictable to justify the act,

Lets see how things turn for the channel in near future, but there are viewers who will definitely miss watching Aag TV.
