Recently, Armeena shared her two cents on Twitter when chief of Awami Muslim League (AML) Sheikh Rasheed abused people from the entertainment industry on live television.
The actor wrote,
“Who is this man? Why is he using such abusive language against the film industry?” She further questioned the content that is aired on TV, stating, “Why is such obscene language allowed on mainstream television?”
Speaking of Sheikh, Armeena still couldn’t believe what he thought about the film fraternity.
She added,
“I am embarrassed for this man. I mean, how do you just sit there and make such statements without realising the wider ramifications? Is he educated? What background does he come from?”
The Janaan actor also explained that if Sheikh was in the UK, a person like him wouldn’t be allowed anywhere near public office.
Ohkay so; things have become pretty interesting & intense in Visaal. With things seemingly going in Akram’s favor, I am keen to see what will be his undoing. The story so far has been executed perfectly & is quite captivating. Despite being a simple story, the kind of treatment it has met makes Visaal a very interesting & entertaining drama.
Shabbir passed away & Pari lost everything. Her entire world crumbled because Shabbir was not only her father, he was her life, her safety blanket, her comfort zone, her everything. Pari never really had any other relation in her life that is why Shabbir was all that she had & unfortunately, he left her side. Even though Pari has grown up with such people in her surroundings who have loved & respected both Shabbir & Pari, but after what Naheed did, it is so obvious that no matter what one says, no one in this world is fully trustworthy. I can’t imagine what will Pari go through when she will finally find out that it was Naheed, her best friend who literally destroyed her life!
Akram was the one who wished for Shabbir’s death because now that he has his sights on Pari, he wanted her to be left completely alone so that he could play her savior & be the hero in her eyes that he is trying so hard for. Akram must be thinking the luck is on his side but then, he has forgotten that there’s that lady who somewhat remembers him & knows where he comes from!
Akram did connect the dots & because he read the last letter that Taimur sent to Pari, he got his answer that it wasn’t Pari who invited him, it was definitely someone else, the girl with the black pumpies (kalay khussay). This is why I find Akram’s character interesting, even though he has all the shades of black, he still can’t be completely labeled as a negative character. There are so many shades, so many layers to him that you actually want things to work in his favor, while still wanting his true colors to be revealed, it is confusing yet very very interesting & Hashim Nadeem has exceled in writing this character & Zahid Ahmed has done complete justice to Akram.
Naheed seems unbothered, may be because she is not into Akram or because she is so guilt-stricken after what she has done that she can’t seem to concentrate on her life, that is why with so many warnings & concerns raised by her mother about Akram’s background, Naheed doesn’t even think for a second because she is actually aloof to all of this as she feels her life has already ruined so what more could go wrong? It is good that Naheed is witnessing everything herself, how single move of hers caused the domino effect in Pari’s life & ended up taking Shabbir’s life as well. I hope this is enough to shake her so that she finally speaks up.
The preview of the next episode had me at the edge of my seat. Akram will finally find out that it was Naheed, I so hope he does because that will make things pretty intense too. I want to see how Naheed will try to dodge the bullet like will she even be able to, especially with Akram at her case? I like this new twist, it has really made things pretty interesting in this drama. Zahid Ahmed steals the show by far, he is the central character & he surely has carried this drama on his shoulders, well done! Please share your thoughts.

Celebrities have a reach to millions of fans through their social media accounts. These accounts, on one hand, have allowed the fans to reach their favourite stars but on the other hand, have provided bullies with an opportunity to harras them on social media. Even the families of these celebs get a lot of unwanted criticism and stupid comments. Model and actress Nadia Hussain took to her Instagram and slammed these bullies. This is what she said:
Nadia has raised a very valid point. Cat-calling others and saying names does no good to anyone. If you cannot say something good, do not say anything at all.

Ohkay so, this episode marked the end of the journey called Aangan – where we laughed & cried seeing the lives of these characters because they brought real-life experiences on-screen & made it all seem so relatable.
This journey ended on a note showing that one curveball sets everything straight. It is true, may be at times you need such a big blow to get a reality check & open your eyes but while watching this episode, I was wondering why couldn’t everything get settled when Sajjad was alive, why did they have to lose him to come to their senses? Sajjad’s death touched their lives & his death served as a reminder that you leave everything behind. All that one leaves with are his deeds & where Sajjad dedicated his entire life guiding & helping his family members, his death also turned out to be an eye-opener, guiding & helping them to understand that none of all this matters; what matters the most are the relationships & peace among those as well as within yourself!
I liked how the writer used Sajjad’s death in every single conversation & showed how this drastic curveball straighten everything else. Laila realized that she mourned the loss of her perfect relationship but it was nothing in comparison to the loss that Hajra suffered. This was the very 1st fix. I so wish there was more to Laila & Asim’s track in the previous episode than this exchange of couple of dialogues in the last episode. It somehow looked rushed & this was the first time I actually felt that what if Sajjad hadn’t died, how would’ve things panned out between Laila & Asim then? Haseena also got a place in this family & in Asim’s life because Laila stopped caring about Asim like she used to, sad but true!
Even in the end, they showed that even though Laila came to terms with Asim but it was too obvious that things weren’t going to go back to how they used to be between them. There was this reservation in Laila’s attitude & body language which showed that she was now leading the life of a mother & an independent woman, in stead of being someone’s wife, with her husband being the centre of her attention.
Hajra forgave Afrah because she realized the ego that she was holding onto was doing her no good. Anila asked for forgiveness & so did Shafiq. It was good that everyone realized that everything that they were doing was just simply wrong. Zahid became responsible & started taking care of the family business along with Sadaan, which was a good & most needed change in Zahid’s life & character. I liked how the journey ended with the news of a new life budding in that home. This is how the life circles & it just doesn’t stop for or because of anyone. I loved this very simple family tradition where when a baby girl is born, they planted Mehandi plant. It was very sweet!
Sigh! I will miss Aangan & even though the journey completed with no lose ends left, I will miss the happy happening parts the most. For me that is what Aangan will be about always, with few banters, few arguments but in the end, everyone coming together as a family. The writer embedded so many messages in this drama without making it preachy & this is what worked the most for me & the comedy was an added bonus. The best bits for me would be how it was emphasized that daughters in law are not some outsiders & they are now a part of the family unit. Where they can take care of the household chores, they can also take the decisions too. With Laila getting support for her business, Hajra getting to have the final say & Rubina being looked after because of her negligent husband, the writer even though showed us an ideal situation, she did rightfully highlight how normally things should actually be once the girl gets married & becomes a part of her husband’s family. I loved how in the end, Abba Jee left it on Hajra to make the final decision, she always had this edge but now she had even bigger responsibility & was given a bigger honor as she was now filling Sajjad’s place now.
Faiza Iftikhar should take a bow for creating so many beautiful characters & giving us such a beautiful story. In this day & age, it is not easy keeping the interest of the viewers intact for the most part of the journey & she achieved it, which within itself is a success of this drama.
The director as well as all the actors should take a bow too for bringing these beautifully written characters to life & leaving no stone unturned in giving it their all. Every single character contributed in making this story complete & that’s what’s the beauty of this story is.
Qavi Khan, Samina Ahmed, Irsa Ghazal, Noor ul Hassan, Waseem Abbas Iffat Omar, Hassan Ahmed, Paras Masroor & Uzma Hassan nailed their characters & made the entire journey even more phenomenal. ZQ, Mansha Pasha & the younger lot that played the characters of Sadaan, Shaina & Aqdas were amazing too. Mariam Ansari did the best she could but may be because Afrah’s character didn’t impress me much, I was never too keen on her performance. This journey was full of ups & downs but I am glad there were more ups than there were downs. I would love tuning to Aangan & watch all the fun bits again. This drama for sure will stay with me for a long time. I had such a great time watching & then discussing it with you all. We definitely need more dramas like these. So I hope the success of Aangan motivates Faiza Iftikhar to come up with another Aangan again. I must say those responsible for the OST did an amazing job too, this turned out to be one such song that I sing to my son, haha. On that note, please share your thoughts & show your love to Team Aangan for giving us such a phenomenal, complete, amazing & successful drama!

Mehwish Hayat and Humayan Saeed, who was the lead actor in the film and also its producer, were in Qingdao to attend the festival.
Five Pakistani films — Jawani Phir Nahi Ani, Punjab Nahi Jaungi, Parchi, Bin Roye and Chalay Thay Saath — were screened at the film festival which ran from June 13 to June 17.
Actor Syra Shahroz whose film Chalay Thay Saath was screened at the festival was among the Pakistani delegates attending the festival. The Pakistani delegation was led by Director External Publicity Wing Ambareen Jan.

This was one of the most crucial episodes of drama serial Khaani. The moment everyone had been waiting for is finally here and there is more anticipation today then there ever was to watch the next episode.
Here is the audio review of the 29th episode of Khaani.
Just like every year, this year too the Pakistani celebrities put in extra effort to sport different looks which weren’t only festive but also in line with the latest trends. The fans look forward to looking at the pictures of celebrities on Eid and appreciate the traditional and formal looks more than the others. White was the favorite choice of most of the celebrities this Eid. Many female celebrities were also seen wearing traditional ghararas with fancy shirts.
Here is a list of the best dressed Pakistani celebrities on this Eid.
Ayeza Khan and Danish Taimoor
Ayeza Khan and Danish Taimoor wore white outfits on the first day of Eid. Danish Taimoor paired an all white kurta shalwar with a white waist coat. Ayeza Khan wore a combination of white and silver. In order to add to this traditional look, she also covered her head with a duppata. The middle parting and those beautiful jhumkas added more grace to her overall look. On the second day Ayeza Khan wore a beautiful lilac outfit which was also formal and the color looked really pretty on her. Danish Taimoor’s light sky blue kurta shalwar suited him and was the perfect color for this weather.
Urwa Hocane
Urwa Hocane’s entire look on the first day of Eid was very cool. From the color of her dress to minimal designing and the make up which wasn’t too much or too little, everything about Urwa’s look was perfect. We also love the texture of her outfit as well as the pajama and cut of her shirt.
Goher Mumtaz and Anam Ahmed
While some celebrities looked dapper and chic in light colored dresses, Goher Mumtaz and his beautiful celebrity wife Anam Ahmed looked amazing in vibrant colors which went so well with the occasion. Goher Mumtaz’s royal blue kurta and maroon waist coat complimented Anam Ahmed’s colorful outfit and duppata. These two look great together no matter what they wear but on this Eid they looked more attractive than ever.
Aiman Khan
Aiman Khan was one of those many celebrities who wore white on the first day of Eid and completely nailed the look. Her Eid dress has intricate embroidery with bead work and sequins. The net duppata with silver pearls completed her look. She kept the make-up simple and let the earrings add extra zing to her look.
Alyzeh Gabol
Alyzeh Gabol also wore white and slayed this mix of white, silver and gold completely. Her outfit was a lot like that of Aiman Khan but her overall look was more formal. The gharara was more voluminous and fancy and unlike Aiman Khan her accessories weren’t silver. She added some gold to her overall look which was a really good idea. Her adorable daughter looked super cute too in a similar outfit.

7 Din Mohabbat In is visually stunning, smartly written, emotionally captivating, thoroughly entertaining, suspenseful and crowd pleasing. There are very few romantic comedies which make you connect to the characters instantly because they are not pointless and 7 Din Mohabbat In is definitely one of those films. It is appealing right from the get-go and holds your interest till the end. 7 Din Mohabbat In is not just another love story, it is unique and unforgettable. Shehryar Munawar’s award-winning performance is the highlight of this film since the story essentially revolves around his character. It was truly refreshing and extremely enjoyable watching Mahira Khan play a character which was both sweet and appealing. Neeli is one-of-a-kind heroine who doesn’t get as much screen time as the hero but definitely manages to impress in every single scene. Javed Sheikh once again manages to make his presence felt. He keeps on surprising the viewers with his definite screen presence and continues to play roles in films which are completely different from one another but are always impressive and entertaining. The stellar performances by the entire cast, intelligent direction and first-rate special effects are few of the reasons why this film is a must-watch. Mira Sethi’s performance is the most pleasant surprise in this film. The superb styling and brilliant makeovers also give this film a definite edge.
7 Din Mohabbat In is the story of a young man who sets out on an unexpected journey in the most unusual manner. This journey turns out to be an exciting, unpredictable and engrossing adventure. The people he finds along the way are equally interesting and pleasing. The story never gets too serious and even those comic dialogues which weren’t exactly brand new were translated on screen in such a manner that they had a fresh appeal. The background score is impressive throughout and the editing is perfect. All the songs in the film are different from one another but equally pleasing. The cinematography is top-notch throughout.
7 Din Mohabbat In is definitely a must-watch. In my opinion it is not one of the best but the best Pakistani film of recent times. Shehryar Munawar and Mahira Khan look perfect together and their sizzling on-screen chemistry coupled with their delightfully entertaining track will leave you spell-bound. The entire supporting cast of this film is equally impressive and faultless. This film has all the right ingredients in the right proportions and is emotionally gratifying. If you are looking for something fun and entertaining to watch this Eid then don’t miss this one!

Ramadan is the month of blessings, a month we all Muslims wait for all over the world. With special arrangements at Sehar and Iftar, Muslims all around the world try to do more and better. We also wait for Ramadan throughout the year and with everything special that comes with this month, there are special Ramadan transmissions which mostly run day and night the whole month. Since their inception, Ramadan transmissions evolved drastically. And in the last few years, many unwanted trends have incorporated themselves in these transmissions. But the bigger surprise came when Ramadan 2018 was very peaceful as far as the usual drama that is incorporated in these shows go. They were peaceful and nice to watch. Here are few things which made this Ramadan more peaceful and easier:
No Aamir Bhai:
The initiation of Ramadan 2018 came with a ban on Aamir Liaquat Hussain. Yes, it was not a full proof ban as Aamir Bhai got the permission to appear on screen later on but nonetheless, it was nothing less of an achievement for the whole country. The way Aamir Liaquat has degraded the essence of Ramadan shows time and time again is not unheard of. With giving out babies to the most famous and I must add gross AAM KHAYEGA AAM, Aamir Liaquat has done everything with the years passing which should not really be done. This year too he created a lot of fuss with making the scholars fight over issues related to sectarianism and then walked out of the live show. So, yes, Aamir Bhai’s less appearance was indeed something which made our Ramadan more peaceful.
Very Put Together Hosts:
Controversies and hosting have run hand to hand many times in the past. Take Aamir Liaquat again as an example and also Hamza Ali Abbasi. When a host does not know how to control the topics being discussed or where the guests are going with their opinions, things can get complicated. The other times no one usually wants to see someone with a controversial past suddenly taking hijaab and start hosting a Ramadan transmission. This year all these mistakes seemed really at bay as the hosts of nearly all the transmissions behaved very responsibly and kept the environment controlled and serene, a must for transmissions related to Ramadan.
The Stop On Circus By The Court:
I cannot even relate to how it happened but somehow all our channels from the big giants to small ones that most people do not even get on their cables ended up with gift shows. People were fighting with the hosts, dancing and doing ridiculous activities to get bikes and washing machines. Many times such segments were a part of the actual transmissions. This year we only had Fahad Mustafa’s Jeeto Pakistan that got people to watch it. Otherwise similar stuff which was a part of the Ramadan transmissions were chopped off. This was undoubtedly another relief after watching people fight over motorcycles on every second channel. Even a little peace is good peace, right?
No Fuzool Controversies:
Like our every other show, Ramadan shows also have had a way of connecting controversies with their other content. With Amjad Sabri’s distant nieces and his own family fighting over for the Sabri legacy in a live show to forcefully feeding mangoes to the audience and yes, many times comments by guests or the hosts which somehow hurt someone’s sentiments. Who can forget the epic Sahir Lodhi patriotic meltdown which also occurred in a Ramadan transmission? This year, however, was very safe as not many of that stuff was seen happening on Pakistani television except the Fahd Mustafa episode where he insulted a girl which occurred in the very end. The lack of controversies also helps to keep people’s minds on good things.
Airing Of Azan:
An order by the court made it obligatory for the channels to air Azan five times a day and it was actually a very beautiful development when all the channels were airing Azan amidst all the planned shows and advertisements. It was a true old-school PTV experience.
A Good Drama:
Yes, it is a bit out of the context but for some years the special dramas made to be aired during Ramadan are so non-sensical and stupid that you cannot even understand how people come up with those stories. But this year HUM TV broke the dormancy with Suno Chanda which people enjoyed watching throughout the month.
All in all Ramadan 2018 brought a big improvement in Pakistani television content. What do you think could be done to improve the situation more? Share in comments!
Ghar Titli Ka Par’s story continues to revolve around Anji’s character and now Afzal is back in the picture too. The story has taken a new turn and the drama has picked up pace.
Here is the audio review of the latest episode of Ghar Titli Ka Par.
So this episode of Haara Dil had some interesting developments including the introduction of much awaited Zawar’s sister Fizza. Yashma Gill plays the role of Fizza and is portrayed as a very lively and open person. It is evident that Fizza is hopelessly in love with Arham while Arham only gets annoyed by her presence. Amtul is all set with her plan of making Arham marry Fizza we will have to wait for the future episodes to find out how Areej and Zawar deal with this development.
Abrar is over the moon because of this change in Momina. Momina’s acceptance of Sami has served as a happy sad kind of deals for Abrar because now it has become a pickle for him. The sole reason behind marrying Fehmi was that Sami needed the constant care of a mother now that Momina is playing Mommy for him it is hard for Abrar to justify Fehmi’s presence in his life. He constantly struggles with giving Fehmi her due status of his wife in his home all the while not losing his daughters’ trust any further.
Arham is still trying to reconcile with Momina and he sees Momina’s change of heart as an opportunity to reignite the long lost spark between them and he succeeds to some extent. After all that has happened in Momina’s life she finds it hard to believe that she can trust Arham when he claims that he will fight anything and everything to be with her. She is adamant that Arham’s mother won’t accept her and that she won’t marry him unless she gets his mother’s approval. Abeer is trying her best to talk Momina into patching up with Arham but Momina being the realist that she is keeps telling her that she won’t keep running after delusions.
On the other hand we can see that tho Fehmi puts a brave face in front of Abrar but her patience is running thin. She wants to live with her husband like a married woman should but Abrar still needs some time before he discloses this relationship to his family and friends. Momina had started growing suspicious of him and Fehmi after seeing them together in the mall and later when she heard Fehmi call Abrar to wake him up in the morning.
This episode again ended with a bang when while cleaning the house Momina comes across the nikkah-nama and finds out that her father has married Fehmida and all her suspicions are confirmed.
This climax has left us with so many questions. Will Momina relapse to old patterns and start hating her father for remarrying, will she start hating Sami again, how will Abeer respond to all this? Probably by becoming even more rebellious.
We will find out this and a lot more next week till then let us know how did you like this episode of Haara Dil.

The latest episode of Bela Pur Ki Dayan had a little bit of everything and it was quite interesting as well. Thankfully Aziz isn’t seriously thinking about getting Tasha married to Shakir but it is part of his plan to make Neelo change her mind. Neelo got plenty of screen time in this episode and the horror scenes were shot brilliantly. Once again all of Neelo’s scenes showed anger and resentment. With every passing episode Neelo’s bitterness is increasing. Right now, she wants to kill Tasha because she feels that this is the best way for her to take revenge from Aziz. Also, she is clearly disturbed because she feels that Shakir and Tasha like each other. Although Neelo is extremely conniving, dangerous as well as scary but you can’t help but understand why she is so upset and why she couldn’t rest in peace! The flashback scenes tonight suggested that the policeman Neelo killed was directly responsible for covering up for her disappearance. While inspector Boota insisted that there was something fishy and they needed to investigate further, his boss asked him to close the file. It was good to see the inspector putting two and two together. He is more interested now in finding out what actually happened and is suspecting that everything that he has been told by Tasha and her family might just be true.
This episode also covered how Neelo’s presence in the house had taken a toll on everyone. Rameez has not been able to find work in all these months because he has been too busy sorting out the mess made by Neelo. This made perfect sense since Rameez had been busy figuring out what was going on ever since he started noticing that something was terribly wrong. This scene also gave the viewers an insight into the time period since it is difficult to tell for how long has this family been fighting with Neelo’s ghost. The scenes in the prison were shot superbly, the direction and the acting by all the actors involved couldn’t have been better. The horror of sharing the cell with a murderer and a ghost eager to kill was evident from Sara Khan’s expressions. Amar Khan’s performance never ceases to impress, she owns her role completely. Shakir and Neelo finally met in this episode and this meeting revealed a great deal about why she wasn’t eager to meet him. It seems like Neelo also holds Shakir responsible because he believed everything he was told. At this point I was wondering when will we ever find out the whole truth and what turn the story will take once it is revealed. Adnan Siddiqui’s expressions and body language in this scene were priceless! He looked really scared and he definitely didn’t see his old love in this dayan.
For the first time tonight Aziz looked terrified and he genuinely wanted to do whatever it took to get his daughter out of the prison. The alternative he was given wasn’t doable for him since he did not have so much money. This episode ended with Aziz asking Boota to let Tasha go home with him for two hours. It looks like he has a plan, it remains to be seen whether it will work or not. The preview of the next episode was enticing. This drama is always more engaging when the flashback scenes are also shown and all the characters get plenty of screen time. This episode took the story forward considerably, was really well executed and had some of the best performances to its credit.
Eid Mubarak to all our wonderful readers. May Allah shower you with his endless blessings.

Ohkay so, this episode of Visaal was interesting but after seeing the promo of the next episode, I am not sure if I will be given enough reasons to feel the same way as I do about this drama now. I enjoy the subtle humor that they have embedded in different situations & this is why I like tuning to this drama!
Naheed finally brought herself to confess the truth in front of Pari but unfortunately she didn’t get the chance to say anything. Pari who is so pre-occupied with the thoughts of her father couldn’t really comprehend what Naheed was saying & how she was crying because they both are pretty close & have spent a lifetime together to understand each other but Pari wasn’t in the right state of mind to read between the lines & see that Naheed was guilt-stricken & really wanted to get something off her chest! I am wondering now when will Naheed again bring herself to let go of the darkest secret that she is hiding because it really needs to be said in order for the story to move forward.
Akram continued to score brownie points in front of Pari & form an impression on her plus what Naheed did is going to give him so many chances to win her heart. The rickshaw scene with Akram thinking about the prospects of him having a bike was so funny. The way the editors have used that background score to further elaborate Akram’s evil intentions is perfect as it adds more comic quotient to the entire situation! Akram on his own has set himself a challenge & that is why he decided to meet the security guard too but he didn’t get much clues but for starters, he has done a good job!
Shabbir was being treated but his health was deteriorating. Ghufran & everyone else was concerned about the hospital bills as everyone in that locality has limited resources. All these conversations add realism to this drama & also highlight how everyone in this locality is so close knit that they all came together to find a solution to the problem at hand.
I am sure Jumman Bua’s Devrani is not going to sit still untill she finds out the truth & reveals Akram’s true face in front of everyone. She clearly remembers Akram & his mother Shakira so I am sure this is the curveball that Akram will have a very very hard time dodging. Naheed’s mother who already is paranoid couldn’t really ignore what the lady said about Akram & his background. Even though this is Molvi Ghufran’s strength that he is so nice but this is his weakness too & that is why he still didn’t for a second doubt Akram even after he heard everything from his wife. I would hate to see him getting hurt but then this is what Naheed called upon herself!
The preview of the next episode left me shocked. Please don’t tell me that they are going to turn the anti-hero into a hero because if this is what Akram will do, it will make him a murderer & probably kill the charm that his character has. Yes, he is a con but there is still something likeable about him & I so hope that doesn’t get taken away from his character as this is what makes the drama interesting. Please share your thoughts!
Khaani fans are eagerly waiting to find out how it will end. There have been many predictions regarding the ending but until now the producer of the play did not reveal anything about the ending. In a latest interview Abdullah Kadwani revealed a great deal. Listen to what he had to say in this video.
Ohkay so, it was yet another interesting episode of Lashkara. I like how the characters have been etched out & portrayed on screen because even when they don’t say anything, their feelings can be understood. Lashkara has become such a treat to watch but I so so so wish there’s no death in the story. I am saying that because every single drama these days involves death of a character or two & in this case, I so hope it isn’t Feeka because I got that vibe from one of his dialogues & I am warding that thought off!!!
In this episode, Bubbly’s character shone a lot. It was shown that just a little faith, freedom & honesty can bring out the best in someone. Bubbly did have a lot of freedom in her parent’s home too but considering the sort of family Feeka comes from, it sure is a big deal that Nasreen is not only letting Bubbly be but is also facilitating & accommodating her so much that too considering Feeka being her only son!
Bubbly is pretty intelligent & this is why, she deciphered that Nikki has no say in almost anything. Nasreen has only given Nikki & her husband Akram an accommodation but she hasn’t given them any authority & this is what Bubbly picked up too because of which, despite Nikki’s taunts, tantrums & threats, she seemed unbothered about her. Bubbly confronted Nikki & I liked that because at least she is not ashamed of who she is, what her past was & where she comes from & all this was because Nasreen gave her that edge & the confidence to feel that way, which is amazing.
To be honest, as much as I want to enjoy Nikki’s character considering the way it has been portrayed phenomenally by the actor, I found it annoying because Nikki is only going to create troubles for Feeka & Bubbly – a couple that I adore & don’t want to see drifting apart. Nikki already planted a seed to ruin their relationship by sending Sunny a message through Bubbly’s phone & I am not sure how will Bubbly come out of this mess because I fear Nasreen & even Feeka might doubt her intentions & not believe her explanation. Bubbly will be clueless too & might take time to figure out what actually happened but I so hope she comes out of this!
The entire Kheer scenario was really amusing where Feeka & Bubbly thought they pulled a stunt successfully but then Nasreen came with a subtle reminder that she knows what they both did. It is quite interesting to see how Nasreen never ever misses a chance to remind Feeka & Bubbly that she is watching them like a hawk while still giving them enough space to enjoy each other’s company. The way Bubbly slapped the policeman was another interesting scenario, it showcased how Bubbly will be on a front seat always. Feeka did feel ashamed for being unable to protect Bubbly but it was quite sweet to see that Bubbly has accepted him the way he is & she is not wishing for anything else!
I so want to believe that Nasreen doesn’t have an ulterior motive in allowing Bubbly to model for that famous designer but considering the businesswoman that she is, I do sense something. I hope whatever Nasreen does doesn’t cost Feeka his happiness at least, but things are going to get quite intense & interesting. Oh yes, Nasreen already printed Bubbly’s picture on the advertising posters for her new construction, so does this mean she is cashing on Bubbly’s looks & her overall beauty? Would love to find that out. I must say, the director has elevated the level of this drama with his phenomenal direction & all the actors are beyond amazing. The way they have breathed life into these characters is amazing & I for once just can not picture anyone else playing the characters of Nasreen, Feeka, Bubbly, Sunny & even Nazeer. Perfection for sure. Please share your thoughts.
Ohkay so, this episode of Aangan was pretty emotional. Even though I still stand by what I said in the previous review but I won’t deny the fact that it was very emotional & heart wrenching seeing this latest development in the story. Props to the entire team for bringing this aspect to life on-screen with so much of conviction with their phenomenal performances, however I wish the editors had used instrumental music in stead of sad version of the OST because it wasn’t nice hearing the singer echo Dunya Dingrangdingrang in the background during such heavy scenes!
I liked the director’s approach where he showed us one scene of Anila & Co. & then the other one covering the predicament of Abba Jee & the rest of the family because it highlighted that where people are struggling & trying to get a hold of things that they need/want, it all boils down to this point where everything just seems meaningless – that being the loss of a loved one.
Sajjad was trying really hard to keep everyone’s morale up but deep down he was struggling the most & taking it to his heart. Being the eldest son of the family, even though everyone was effected by whatever was happening but Sajjad was feeling a little more burdened because he was taking care of everyone, he was thinking about every little detail & that was taking a toll on his mind, heart & soul. Sajjad not only had to look after the legalities, he also was planning the future ahead where he wanted to make sure that despite being dispersed, every single family member stays connected.
Abba Jee was on a very different level of comfort with Sajjad & because he was an ideal son, Abba Jee knew he could tell him anything & everything. While everyone was aware of the heavy-lifting that Sajjad was doing, no one could predict that something like this would happen because they all would have immediately shared his burdens & pressures. The way Sajjad spoke to the buyers about the little plant with Abba Jee looking after one of the plants in the background went to show what this house meant to all of them & to literally see it slipping away from his hands was too much to bear. I liked how the contrast was drawn between those buyers who seemed emotionally cold in response to such a close-to-heart memory that Sajjad shared with them, it depicted how someone’s loss could be someone else’s gain.
Shafiq proved that he is just a commercially driven person who’s only considerate of himself. Anila played a part in this entire scenario only because she had an ulterior motive but Shafiq being Shafiq literally kicked her out once he achieved what he wanted. Even though Anila did realize that she made a huge mistake, I will say that Anila & Allauddin’s conversation about Sajjad seemed a little out of the blue & totally unexpected because they have never ever spoken well about any member of the family & have never ever taken an initiative to fix the fiasco before!
Well, Sajjad passed away & every single family member mourned his death. Everything suddenly changes when someone leaves just like that & considering Sajjad being the backbone of this family, they all were devastated. Abba Jee allowed Shafiq to come but then he knew it just didn’t matter if he did or did not, at this point, nothing mattered because like I said, everything was meaningless & the only thing that mattered was the fact that Sajjad was no more & unfortunately, he was under so much of unnecessary pressure & burden during the last days of his life with Shafiq playing a major role in that!
The conversation between Abba Jee & Zoya was the highlight of the episode for me. The way he explained how he used to take care of Sajjad when he fell sick, how he prayed in gratitude when he was born – such emotional & beautiful dialogues conveyed with genuine & honest feelings by Sir Qavi Khan. Even though Mansha Pasha’s performance was very brief, I found it equally honest & amazing too. Ah! I so wish we get a happy ending of this drama with all of them having those banters & sharing laughs together but without Sajjad, the picture won’t be the same anymore. Please share your thoughts!
Last year Syra Shahroz made her film debut with Chalay Thay Saath. Chalay Thay Saath featured Syra Shahroz, Kent S Leung, Mansha Pasha as well as Zhalay Sarhadi. The film showed the beauty of northern areas of Pakistan and the storyline was quite different from the other releases of Pakistan.
Chalay Thay Saath will now be screened at the SCO Film Festival in China which will be held from 13th June to 17th June. The Ministry of Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage has selected CTS to represent Pakistan on an International platform.
Syra is extremely excited to be representing Pakistan on an International platform. This is a good news for Pakistan and Pakistani cinema indeed!

Another sad news came out when model Ayesha Linnea took to her Instagram and announced that she and husband Shahbaz Shigri have parted ways after being together for about a decade. Ayesha who has modelled for top brands and also appeared in the movie Slackistan. Shahbaz is a cinematographer and was also the assistant director of Verna. Ayesha disappeared from her Instagram last year and now after approximately 1 and a half year she broke the sad news to her fans:
The couple got married in 2012. We wish that both of them find peace and happiness as they move on in their lives!
That was so UNEXPECTED! Due to the presence of two lead actresses and the fact that Arham had a habit of getting involved in accidents, I was not expecting his death. But yes, the makers do have come with a major twist. Arham’s death has caused an immense upset as now we know that Rushna will not eventually realize her materialism and marry him. Arham’s obsessive nature was the major factor for his death but what actually triggered it was Rushna’s extremely rude behaviour. Arham’s family is an emotional turmoil naturally and cannot come to terms with his young departure from this world.
Mehrab though initially was caught up in devastation on losing his brother, he will now concentrate on getting revenge. When his phupho called Arham’s death a murder, Mehrab was switched and he is now planning to get his revenge. He is also blaming Mirha for all of this though he knew that Mirha has no power whatsoever in Rushna’s life.
Rushna is such a selfish person. The whole episode was filled with her family constantly blaming Mirha. Her mother and brother character shamed her repetitively. They kept insinuating that Mirha has run away with Mehrab and what Rushna did? She agreed with them in this episode. She knows how Mirha was wronged, she knows she has nothing to do with Arham and his family but still she has made her life hell for no reason at all. Again she called that poor guy Murad and bullied him though he had done nothing wrong. It was her own mother and brother who betrothed her to Murad and still, she called him and insulted him.
Mirha is obviously in an awkward position after Arham’s death. Her attempts at cleaning Arham’s room didn’t make any sense though. You are neither the sister nor daughter nor wife of Mehrab, why are you directing cleaning ladies to do stuff and forcing phupho to face her when honestly, Mehrab is her culprit. She should cut her some slack after the tragedy she has faced rather than prancing in front of her like the owner of the house.
The next episode is definitely happening and I am most definitely looking forward to it. How many of you were shocked on Arham’s death? Share in comments!
Drama serial Ishq Tamasha has its viewers hooked because of its fast pace and different twists and turns. There are times when some of these twists are more forced that logical but there is no denying the fact that this drama has a massive viewership.
Mir Hadi and Khaani’s relationship throughout the drama has been the highlight of every episode. Although these two were never on good terms in the drama but there were times when they were happy with each other even through it was only in Haadi’s imagination!
Here are few of the most romantic scenes from drama serial Khaani.
2018 has so far proved a mixed year for the Pakistani cinema with few hit and miss films. The last major Urdu film of 2018 was Motorcycle Girl released almost two months ago on 20th April 2018. No Urdu film was released in May 2018 due to the holy Islamic Month of Ramazan. The two month long dry season will be over on upcoming Eidul Fitr 2017 where a handsome number of films are releasing. Eidul Fitr is the major festive occasion in our country followed by Eidul Azha. It is the time of joy, family reunion, outing, recreation and vacation. The long holidays of Eidul Fitr benefit the entertainment industry as well majorly cinemas and theaters. To utilize these holidays the big banner films are scheduled to release on Eid. Eidul Fitr has historically been the most successful time for the Pakistani cinema in an year. However from past one decade, Eidul Azha has overtaken the Eidul Fitr with respect to the business of local films. The major films which were once specific to Eidul Fitr are now shifted to Eidul Azha. The most significant reason is the direct competition with the Bollywood Eid film. Every Eidul Fitr some Khan starer Bollywood film gallops the bulk of the cinema shows and business. On 2015’s Eidul Fitr, Bollywood’s Bajrangi Bhaijan (BB) emerged blockbuster. Due to the enormous success of BB, many shows of the two Urdu films Bin Roye and Wrong No. also released on Eidul Fitr were shifted to BB. Though eventually Wrong No. and Bin Roye also proved successful but their business was impacted by BB. On 2016’s Eidul Fitr, Bollywood’s Sultan made many new records of collections like most earning in a single day, most earning on a weekend. The film earned around 34 crore and became the highest earning Bollywood film in the Pakistan. Two Urdu films Swaal 700 Crore Dollar Ka (SSCDA) and Blind Love were also due to release on Eidul Fitr in 2016. But due to unavailability of shows Blind Love was not released and the only film SSCDA struggled against Bollywood’s Sultan. The situation changed in 2017 as the government has not allowed the release of Bollywood Eid film Tubelight and hence no Bollywood film was released on Eidul Fitr 2017. This year Eidul Fitr will fall on 15th or 16th June 2018 Here is the summary of the films coming on Eidul Fitr. Hollywood Hollywood films are only released in the multiplexes having 3D screens. Hollywood films have their own dedicated audience. This Eidul Fitr only one Hollywood film Jurrasic World – Fallen Kingdom is releasing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vn9mMeWcgoM Bollywood: No release Like 2017, no Bollywood film is releasing on Eidul Fitr. In 2017, the government did not allow the release of Bollywoods’ Tubelight on the Eidul Fitr. There was no official statement on its release and it was expected to hit theaters after two weeks of Eid. However Tubelight‘s business was not as per expectations in India and the rest of world and consequently the film was not released in Pakistan even after Eidul Fitr. This year the Federal Government has defined the regulations of films releasing on Eid. As per the official notification released three weeks ago, no Bollywood film will be screened till after two weeks on both Eidul Fitr and Eidul Azha. However last week upon the pressure of Bollywood’s film distributors the government has reduced the ban to one week. The 2018 Bollywood’s Eid release is Race 3 which now will release in Pakistan on 22nd/23rd June 2018 one week after Eidul Fitr. Bollywood films have an all-seasons and all-weathered loyal audience in Pakistan across all sections of the society. Despite hostile aggression from India on borders Bollywood films earn huge in Pakistan from the posh areas multiplexes to crowded areas old single screen cinemas. The prime example of the bonding of the Bollywood fans in Pakistan is the business of 2016 Eidul Fitr’s release Sultan which earned a mammoth 34 crore in three weeks and became the highest earning Bollywood film in Pakistan to-date. Before its release filmi circles were predicting a possible low turn out for the film as Indian army butchered around 120 Kashmiris in the Indian held Kashmir within a week around Eidul Fitr while thousands of Kashmiris lost eye sight due to the use of the pallet guns by the Indian forces. Despite continued state terrorism and blood bath in Kashmir on Eidul Fitr 2016 by the Indian forces, Sultan received a massive response on Eidul Fitr in Pakistan. The film registered the largest ever opening weekend for any film by earning 7.5 crore in just four days again proving the massive appeal of Bollywood films in Pakistan. So even though Race3 will release one week after the Eidul Fitr, the film distributors are hopeful about its massive business. Urdu films Urdu is the national language spoken in all the regions of Pakistan and Urdu cinema is gradually recovering after its extinction in the last decade. In 2017 two Urdu films Yalghaar and Mehrunnisa V Lub U (MVLU) were released. In the absence of the Bollywood film both proved successful where Yalghaar earned 17-19 crore and MVLU earned 13 crore. The main business circuit of Urdu films is Sindh, Punjab and Islamabad Capital Territory. Urdu films have a limited release in the cantonment areas of Balochistan and KPK In the absence of any Bollywood film, four Urdu films were announced to be released on the Eidul Fitr 2018. All four films are of diverse genres providing ample choice to cine goers to choose one as per their choice. 7 Din Mohabbat In (سات دن محبت ان) Starring superstar Mahira Khan alongside her Ho Mann Jahan co-star Sheheryar Munawar, 7 Din Mohabbat In (7DMI) is all set to release on Eid ul Fitr. For almost five decades Punjabi cinema has proved to be the backbone of our cinema and film industry. The success of Punjabi films also provided a space for Urdu cinema to flourish. However after Urdu cinema, Punjabi film making has also been extinct till the end of last decade. Unlike Urdu cinema there has been no considerable effort to revive the Punjabi cinema. Every year very few Punjabi films of inferior quality are produced which hardly add any value towards the dysfunct Punjabi cinema. Three Punjabi films are expected to release on this Eid which are traditional gandasa films. The punjabi films will only release in the Punjab province. The name of the Punjabi films are Faisla Gujjar Da (فیصلہ گجر دا), Malik Bahadur (ملک بہادر) and Market (مارکیٹ). The trailers of the Punjabi films are not available online. Pashto Films Pashto is the second largest spoken language in Pakistan after Punjabi. Pashto cinema was the third most successful film circuit after Punjabi and Urdu films. Unlike Urdu and Punjabi cinema which faded a decade ago, Pashto cinema has survived well despite dismal situation of law and order in its circuit. Pashto cinema seldom gets the attention of the mainstream media, still Pashto films have successfully retained their viewership . Pashto cinema has its own dedicated circuit in the province of KPK, Balochistan (Quetta) and Sindh (Karachi only) where native Pashto speaker live in large numbers. Apart from Pakistan, Pashto films sometimes are also released in UAE (Dubai/Sharjah) and Afghanistan (Kabul). The leading artists of the Pashto cinema are Shahid Khan, Jahangir Jani, Arbaaz Khan and Ajab Gull. Four Pashto films are expected to release on this film namely Paidageer (پیدا گیر) , Ziddi O Badmash (ضدی او بدمعاش), Zandaan (زندان) and Kashar Khan Loafar Da (کشر خان لوفر دے). The trailer of all these Pashto films are available online, but here only one poster is added. So it sums up this compilation of the films coming on Eidul Fitr. All the four Urdu films of Eid are of diverse genre so hopefully we can find one of our choice. Wish all the readers a happy and prosperous Eidul Fitr. Keep supporting Pakistani cinema. Thanks for your time. Rashid Nazir Ali
Javed Sheikh, who has been ruling over the Pakistani film industry for decades, was approached to play Kareena’s father in the film which released last week and has been banned in Pakistan.
In an interview Javed Sheikh said that he was approached by Anil Kapoor’s office a year ago,
“I was approached by Anil Kapoor’s office over a year ago to play the role of Kareena’s father in the film,”
The veteran actor who has been seen in several Indian films shared that he held a meeting with the director and producer of the film and everything was finalised.
He continued adding that this was during the time Kareena was expecting her son, Taimur Ali Khan.
“My shooting dates had been set and my wardrobe was also ready. However, the shooting dates were changed as Kareena or the whole crew decided that it was difficult to shoot while she was expecting,”
He continued,
“However, by the time Kareena delivered her baby relations between Pakistan and India had worsened and the producers association there decided against casting Pakistani actors.”
Stating that Pakistani producers and exhibitors are casting Indian talent despite a ban on Pakistani talent across the border, Sheikh hoped Indian producers association would soon follow suit.
