Mehrunisa V Lub U released this Eid to mixed reviews but it has managed to do a lot of business. The movie stars Danish Taimoor, Sana Javed, Javed Sheikh and Nayyer Ijaz among others. The film was a rom-com and claimed to have a social message. Mehrunisa is Yasir Nawaz’s second film after Wrong No. which was also successful at the box office. Mehrunisa has managed to bag 7 crores uptill now and the numbers are fantastic.
The lead actor Danish Taimoor posted the above picture to share his happiness. Despite releasing along side Yalghaar which is a big budget film flaunting a stellar star cast; Mehrunisa has still managed to impress the audience.
Ace musician Xulfi is in the industry for many years. His real name is Zulfiqar Jabbar Khan, first he was a part of band EP but he later joined Call. He is also the producer of Nescafe Basement which is loved by the audience.
So Xulfi paid tribute to his favourite band “Pink Floyd” and musician David Gilmour. David Gilmour’s solo in Pink Floyds High Hopes from their album Division Bell touched his heart. He bought a lap steel guitar just for this tribute which he made memorable for himself and for all.
Xulfi’s Basement has also received a lot of love from around the world. John Newman expressed his appreciation for one of his songs, Love Me Again, which was covered on the show by an all-girls band. Roxette also shared Nescafe Basement’s cover of their song She’s Got The look.
Such achievement and recognition Xulfi. Much wows for you!

The first episode of Tau Dil Ka Kya Hua was a lot like the first episode of Mohabbat Tumse Nafrat Hai since it started with highlighting a major issue between the leading characters instead of introducing them in a normal setting. While starting the drama in such a way can pique the curiosity of the viewers because even after watching the first episode you don’t really find out much about the characters, but at the same time such a beginning makes things complicated right from the start. Even after watching this entire episode the viewers do not really know the background of any of the characters even vaguely and we also don’t know how some of these characters are interrelated. While I am all for keeping the viewers at the edge of their seats but not introducing the characters properly in the first episode does not really serve the said purpose. Yes, I am curious to find out a lot about all these characters but I also feel that there is no need to keep the viewers guessing in this particular way! How is Faris (Sami Khan) related to Siraj Uncle (Rehan Sheikh)? Where are his parents? How are Seemi Pasha and Behroze Sabzwari’s character related to Faris? Basically, these are not the kind of questions that should be in the viewers minds after watching an introductory episode.
This episode opened with Faris (Sami Khan) complaining about the fact that his wife Maya (Ayeza Khan) left the house earlier than he had asked her to. Maya wants a divorce from her husband because she wants to go back to Saif (Zahid Ahmed), who is someone she had a relationship with before getting married but she married Faris because she had broken up with Saif. Uncle Siraj has taught Faris the art of losing well and therefore he is taking this recent development very differently from how any other husband would. He is heart broken and feels used but is pretending to be okay with everything. Maya could not care less about her marriage coming to an end and she is already looking forward to being with Saif. She thinks it is her right to be with the person she loves therefore she does not think she is doing something wrong. Saif came across as someone who won’t go the extra mile for someone. This episode did not reveal much about his character except that he is also romantically involved with Maya and isn’t stopping her from leaving her husband. Maya’s father Namdar Mirza (Usman Peerzada) is a lawyer who is naturally not too happy with his daughter’s decision and decides to talk her out of it but Maya has her mind all made up. Dania (Mansha Pasha) is related to Uncle Siraj and also likes Faris. Maya’s sister (Noor Khan) is very different from her but she knows that there is no point of arguing with Maya.
This entire episode covered the divorce, which is yet to happen. It showed how different characters feel about it and that is how the viewers found out about the central characters in the story. The best thing about this episode was the way it was directed and there was a lot of focus on everyone’s looks. All the characters looked trim and proper, it was quite apparent that the director focused on making the whole experience more visually pleasing for the viewers. However because of the script, just like MTSNH, the scenarios and the characters appeared to be staged as opposed to living and breathing human beings who the viewers could easily relate to. Sami Khan looked good and acted well, Faris was the only character I warmed up to in this episode. Ayeza Khan is once again playing a role which isn’t likeable but this time around she is not all over the place. Maya’s character also appears to be slightly more well defined than Maheen’s. Zahid Ahmed has a definite screen presence but his body language was too calculated in this episode, since we don’t know much about his character therefore it is impossible to guess why he was acting like that.
The preview of the next episode suggested that the divorce will not take place in the upcoming episode and I have a feeling that this is going to be another slow-paced drama. I just hope that it has enough substance to keep the viewers coming back for more.

July 14th marks the release of Pakistan’s first live superhero movie, Project Ghazi, and we can hardly wait for it.
Project Ghazi comprises of super-soldiers, Humayun Saeed and Sheheryar Munawar, fighting the enemy, Adnan Jaffar’s and trying to flatten his evil plot. Zara, played by Syra Shahroz, is an investigator who is trying to search the cause of existence of the duo and their motives. The plot revolves around the idea of society being responsible for both good and bad guys. This is definitely an ambitious project and one that will undoubtedly revolutionize the Pakistani cinema.
According to Syra, she had absolutely no hesitation when it came to accepting her role.
“I didn’t have any second thoughts whatsoever! I think I believe in constantly challenging myself as an actor, not“ having just one hit movie. It’s about how far I can push myself as an actor,” she said. “The risk factor is always there. You can’t control that.” – Syra Shahroz, The Express Tribune
She added that Nadir Shah and Ali Raza, who are the director and producer of the film respectively, wanted to uptake a genre that has not yet been explored. It was different both in terms of production and VFX.
Sheheryar plays a rookie soldier, who is under Humayun’s mentorship. Accordingly, it was said that Sheheryar has the most complex role in the film.
“His character has the most grace. There are characters which are on extremes of either side of the spectrum, and you know what to hook on to. But Sheheryar’s goes through a lot and he shows many shades through his transformation.” – Nadir Shah, The Express Tribune.
However, the actor himself weirdly enough disagreed.
“Actually, I am the one wearing tight shirts and being the eye candy in the film. As politically incorrect as it sounds, I am the girl in the film, playing the catalyst. But then, men do the same in our dramas with dialogues like ‘Acha, meri maa ne yeh kaha tha?’ But on a serious note, sometimes you are leading the scene or are a catalyst and give space to other characters to come out. It can’t just revolve around one person.”
Dilawar is perhaps, metaphorically speaking to be the Q of James Bond where he equips soldiers but does not fight in the field himself.
As for the villian Adnan, Director Nadir was all praises:
“He’s a trained actor and likes such off-the-wall characters so this role was tailor-made for him. He’s a mercenary with some special abilities in the film and sees so much crime in the society that it seeps into his personality.”
Ironically all three celebrated heroes of the movie are huge fans of superheroes movies themselves. Syra loves Marvel pictures and her recent favorite movie is none other than Wonder Woman.
“Captain America is pretty good too. I love X-Men a lot. I love the concept and I connect with them on some level.”
Munawar however had his heart set on a different fandom.
“I’m a Jason Bourne fan and a Tyler Durden fan.”
But don’t try to judge a book from its cover and make your own perspective without watching the movie. The director has promised to invest a blend of eastern and western zest. This is not only to bring in something new to the media industry but to motivate and encourage new film grads to try experimentation with their productions.
Here’s the final take of Sheheyar on his movie, in case you need more reason to see it:
“I’m there. Humayun is there landing punches, Syra is there kicking butt and looking good doing it. What else do you guys want? I think it’s a good package.”
Pakistan’s first ever super hero film ‘Project Ghazi’ will be soon hitting the cinemas across the country. The movie has got Humayun Saeed, Sheheryar Munawar and Syra Shehroz in the lead roles and it is all set to release on July 14th.
Recently, Sheheryar Munawar and Syra Shehroz have been spotted in Karachi for the movie’s promotional event. The social media page of the movie has released the snaps of the two during the event. Have a look on the pictures of stars goofing around.
The iconic London buses have always been the hallmark of one of the most metropolitan cities in the world. They have evolved over time but their traditional double decker look and feel remains the same.
This time, however, they are the coolest sights ever. The beautiful beasts are roaming around Central London with promotional images of Pakistan on them.
They are decorated this way in order to promote Pakistan as a tourist destination as part of the initiative taken by Pakistan High Commission in London for celebrating 70 long years of independence, which this 14th of August will mark.
Don’t tell me you have not fallen in love all over again with Pakistan on seeing these images;
We live in era of information overflow and with that comes opinions and criticism coming your way right left and centre. So none of us is really safe from falling into one form of controversy or the other. We can imagine if it is like this for us, how it must be for celebrities who have their every move followed and shared and discussed. They have no respite from it all. The media follows them like a hawk all around the country and even outside. And they cannot complain because publicity, good or bad is their bread and butter. They have to compete with eachother to become the most talked about and hence they get entangled in their fair share of controversies which is human and they deserve some margin for saying things which do not sit right with some people here and there.
However, we have some special stars in our industry whose sole claim to fame are the controversies they create for themselves. For them, no news is not good enough news. They repeatedly say and do ridiculous things to get people to notice them and make their antics viral. Here, we will look at some of the most popular celebrities of today who thrive in showbiz by creating and fueling controversies.
1. Amir Liaquat Hussain
This man is nothing if not a controversial figure. From being a religious scholar to a disco maulvi to a vulgarly speaking host, Amir Liaquat is regularly in the news, for all the wrong reasons. He has been banned by PEMRA time and again and he never pays heed to any of it. Just recently, his program on Bol channel where he called religious activism as blasphemy turned up a huge storm of criticism. However, he appeared again in Ramzan with tall tales of gifting aeroplanes and questioning his guests about private and inappropriate issues. So, we can safely but sadly conclude that Amir Liaquat is here to stay, in each program more controversial than the previous one.
2. Sahir Lodhi
This man is popular for reasons unbeknownst to mankind. There is nothing likeable about the way he talks, sings, hosts or dances, but this is serving him quite well. Every few months, he does something so absurd that it remains viral for many days afterwards. I think producers and directors also cash in on his controversies, which is why they keep on casting him. The self proclaimed Shahrukh Khan of Lollywood is a master of gaining popularity by being outrageous.
3. Meera
This woman has been the reigning queen of controversy since the time she stepped into the industry. And I do not believe it is unintentional, since anyone with a quarter of her wealth could have gone to a finishing school or somewhere, to learn how and what to speak. But, I think she is well aware of the immense popularity publicity this brings her way.
4. Tahir Shah
Well, what can you say about someone who deliberately creates, composes, sings and acts in songs like Eye To Eye and Mankind Angels and then peers from behind his curly long locks to let you know that he is spreading the message of love and peace. It is not hard to get what he is trying to achieve so determinedly and he is quite there already. There can only be one Tahir Shah in this world.
5. Waqar Zaka
For someone who planted his foot in the industry by giving dares to people to prove they are capable of living on the edge, he is not the one to follow any social rules or norms and sometimes basic mannerisms as well. From giving outrageous statements to being beaten publicly by girls, Waqar Zaka has certainly made himself quite noticeable.
Leo Messi, the world’s greatest footballer, married his childhood sweetheart on 30th June 2017, in a lavish Argentinian ceremony. It was a huge event and the couple, who have known each other for some 25 years, banned mobile phones at the event. Staff were also sworn to secrecy and 450 police officers were drafted in for the big day.
Given the hype, how was it possible for our talented desis to not make a desi version out of it? Yesterday, Gulraiz from Comics by Gulraiz made a hilarious desi version of the wedding which is going viral on the internet because of how hilarius it is. Have a look at Messi’s wedding in a Desi style yourself:
Arth is considered a cult classic in Bollywood. The movie was made by none other than Mahesh Bhatt and is even known to be somewhat his and late Parveen Babi’s biography. The classic is the first ever Bollywood film to be remade in Pakistan.
The posters of the film were recently released and they are incredible. Shaan will play the role of Raj Kiran, Uzma Hassan as Shabana Azmi, Humaima Malik as Smita Patil and Mohib Mirza will be seen as Kulbhushan Kharbanda. The story will be set in Lahore.
According to Mumbai Mirror Mahesh Bhatt gave the rights of movie to Shaan without charging when he showed his desire to make a remake of the film.
Shaan said: “Arth is the first film with the DNA of an Indian story to be set in Pakistan. If we want to strengthen film trade between our countries, Arth’s model is a great way of collaborating.”
Bhatt sahab also didn’t object to the film and said: “When Shaan expressed the desire to revisit Arth, I had no objection. The story has endured the passage of time and is available in public domain. Shaan wanted to use my story and present it as a local, indigenous narrative that suited his country’s palate. I’m not aware of what he has done. Every filmmaker has his own worldview and the freedom to reinterpret a story the way he wishes.”
We are totally looking forward to this one as Shaan will be seen in a different role after a long time.
Pakistani film industry has really progressed in the last few years. Many films have come out and many of them have proved successful on the box office. This has not just fed the film hunger of the audience but has also opened doors for new business. So there is a big news for residents of Mandi Bahauddin as the city is now getting its own multiplex.
Both the films released this Eid Yalghaar and Mehrunisa V Lub U are running successfuly in the cinema. The cinema has been setup by IMGC. This is a 3D Multiplex and is offering 3 shows per day. The first IMGC Multiplex was setup in Sargodha.
According to IMGC’s representative, “The IMGC Multiplex in Mandi Bahauddin is a single screen that is now operational with 256 seats at the moment. IMGC Multiplex in Mandi Bahauddin is an effort by IMGC to expand the state of the art kind of entertainment facilities to all towns and cities like. We want entertainment to be available for all, be it a small town and or a large metropolis.”
This is a very good news for audience as well as the industry.
Hassan Waqas Rana has been labelled as one of the best directors of the Pakistani cinema, after his blockbuster movies, the latest of which being Yalghaar, that is currently crowned as the king at the box office on Eid. The film itself is based on a true story of the 76 hours of successful military operation conducted in the Piochar region of Swat district. It features the courageous and patriotic officers and soldiers of our nation who continually risk their lives for our safety.
We have an interview of the man of the moment himself, speaking to The Nation about his experience with Yalghaar and the challenges it brought.
Q. Yalghaar is a story of patriotism and dedication of Pakistan army in the inferno of war against terrorism. Was directing a war film your goal?
A. Yes absolutely, it was a challenge because no one had attempted to make a serious war film in the subcontinent before and some had said that it cannot be done.
Q. Making war movies is not an easy task. It takes cast of hundreds and use of lot of equipment and modern techniques. How was your experience?
A. It was indeed a challenge and this challenge quadruples in essence if you are using live ammunition explosives and real war machines including gunship attack helicopters. Even though that it was challenging, tough and exasperating at times but once you get it right the feeling is almost like solving a mathematical riddle. It is strangely satisfying at so many levels.
Q. What difficulties did you face in making this movie?
A. Everything about this film was a challenge. Especially for my actors as they had to maintain their looks and their physical appearance true to the character for such a long period of time.
I was only working on Yalghaar but all of my actors are at the top of their game at the moment and were extremely busy. Shaan had started Arth in which he is playing a completely different role to what he is doing in Yalghaar, Humayun had started Mein Punjab Nahi Jaoon Gi, Bilal Ashraf had to go for Janaan and that was a completely different role for him to do then he MaashAllah got Rangreza in which he is playing the character of a rock star which is poles apart from the role of captain that he is playing in Yalghaar. Sana Bucha was doing multiple other projects, Adnan Siddiqui had to go for film Mom in which his appearance is completely different to the clean cut Commanding Officer that he is playing in Yalghaar. Gohar was playing the role of a musician in Rangreza. So yeah it was extremely challenging for all of them to come back to Yalghaar and pick it up from where they had left and start all over with the same intensity.
Q. What in your view is the most attractive thing about your film?
A. The battle sequences of the film. They are raw, gritty and as close to reality that you can get without being shot.
Q. How far was Pakistan army cooperative in helping to complete your film project?
A. It was an absolute impossibility to make this feature film without the support and help of the Army. I can’t really take names but these guys were as involved in the production as any one of us. The most beautiful thing about it was that, they would make us forget that they were real officers we actually started feeling as if they were the part of the crew.
Yalghaar has generated a total collection of 63 million in just three days. Did you believe this film will rule box-office with impressive numbers as compared to other Eid releases nationwide?
I knew Yalghaar was not an average film and believed it would perform on extremes either this or that way, but thanks to Almighty and the beautiful people of Pakistan it went towards the positive numbers that we see today.
Q. Which was the most difficult scene that you shot for Yalghaar from a director’s point of view?
The most interesting thing about Yalghaar is that every scene in the film came with its own challenge whether it was an infantry battle or a pitched battle of the SSG or the Aviation component of the film or even the romantic scenes. Each and every scene in the film presented its own set of challenges.
Q. The film was mostly shot on many locations, what were the locations?
A. We mostly shot in the northern areas – Tarbella, Mangla, Lahore, Pindi, Peshawar and some other places which I can’t really name here.
Q. Why are war movies popular right now?
A. War movies have always been popular with the audiences. There never was time in the cinema history when war movies were not the most anticipated or watched.
Q. What is next for Hassan Rana?
I am currently writing scripts for two international projects. One is a period piece and the other is dealing with a very interesting concept. I am also going to shoot another feature film by the end of the year and then I am diving straight into “Waar-2”.
Sisters definitely count as a major blessing; whether they’re older, younger or the same in age, each and every moment shared with them is absolutely unforgettable and sweet. Minus of course the ups and downs that we all have, in the end they only seem to make us understand each other better and strengthening the bond that exists between the two. Hence, even if you are a celebrity, nothing really can change the affection and closeness that you would have with your siblings. We have these Instagram posts to prove it. Yesterday was Yumna Zaidi’s elder sister, Mehreen’s birthday, and she posted this absolutely beautiful picture of hers cutting the cake, along with a very heartfelt caption: There isn’t much more we can say about sisters that hasn’t been put in the caption right? (Also, notice the comment of none other than the Dil-e-Jaanam’s star Hina Altaf, also wishing Mehreen on her special day!) The second post is that of our charming Mawra Hocane who just uploaded a hilarious post on Instagram for her sister’s birthday Urwa Hocane who turned 26 today. Have a look: Oh man. Three words: Sister goals anyone? We wish both of these girls a very Happy Birthday and a joyous coming year! Got anything to add or voice? Let us know with your comments!
Our very own superstar Shahid Afridi, fondly called lala is blessed with four little princesses, and the young dad couldn’t be prouder of them. He has never shied away from sharing their pictures and videos with himself. They have also been a constant presence among the last few matches he played, cheering on their dad excitedly.
This time, he is globe trotting with his wife and all four girls in tow. He shared clicks of himself enjoying with his family during various activities of the world renowned holiday destination, Dubai. Here are some of the pictures we found that are sure to melt your heart. It is very rightly said that every girl is a princess in her father’s heart. Look at these adorable photos showing some quality father-daughters bonding time;
Project Ghazi’s trailer has taken Pakistan by storm and has all of us eagerly waiting for it’s release date, after all this is Pakistan’s first superhero movie! We are pleased to inform you that the amazing trailer has not only impressed us, Pakistani, but Indians too!
Recently,Mayank, a famous Indian youtuber who reacts on different movie trailers, decided to react on Project Ghazi’s trailer after receiving a lot of request by his followers to give it a try.
And so he did:
As you can see he loved it. Making a list of the top 30 films that Mayank has reviewed so far, he says that he would put Actor In Law on number three, Waar on number two and Project Ghazi takes the lead by being on number one. He also praised the graphics and the technology used in the film by saying that no way does it look like a film produced by Lollywood, rather it looks like a Hollywood action-superhero film..
Former Pakistan head coach and captain Waqar Younis got into some ‘twitter trouble’ on his tweet regarding the women’s cricket. His comment on the tournament’s format sent Twitter into a frenzy.
@ICC What abt having 30 overs Cricket World Cup 4 Women???Like Tennis 3 sets rather then 5 #Suggestion I feel 50 overs r few 2many #WWCUP17
According to his tweet, the Women’s World Cup should be reduced to 30 overs, from its current 50-over format.
Discussion started on twitter, with some fans supporting the former cricketer and saying that the women’s cricket was “too boring to watch.” Others called out this tweet as discriminatory and said they expected better of him.
Former pacemaker finally took to Twitter again to clarify that his statement in no way meant any discrimination or prejudice towards women.
In just a few minutes, the arch rivals, Pakistan and India will be facing each other in their third match of the ongoing ICC Women’s World Cup 2017.
India is fan-favourite for this match as according to the past statistics, she has won a greater number of matches than Pakistan in a Pak vs. India match. However, we should keep in mind that our Pakistani team is known to be ‘unpredictable’ and can easily upset a match
The start of the current T20 champions was very positive as the women in green had won their very first match of the tournament against West Indies in a warm-up game. However, back-to-back defeats by South Africa and England have now left Pakistan in must-win territory and this puts pressure on them to win against India.
Women in green have also suffered a set-back with the experienced batting all-rounder Bismah Maroof being ruled out of the tournament because of an injured hand.
Their rivals, on the other hand, are in a very strong position with a high confidence level too. India has so far won both her matches, also managing to beat England who had scored a grand total of 377 against Pakistan.
Therefore, unlike the men’s teams of the two countries, the women’s teams are unevenly matched. But that has little to do with how the players perform on the field on that given day.
It is to be noted that India had already played 45 games when Pakistan played her first. It’s true that both the teams were formed around the same time but there is a huge difference in the level of experience between both sides.
We all pray that our team to be successful against India but we need to keep in mind that we are facing against a very experienced and successful side.
There is always a heated debate in our society about the double standards that we have. We are all aware of them and criticise others for having them but no effort is ever made to eradicate them from our own lives. This time Zaid AliT tweets about them.
In the first one, he shares how he sees that we have gender inequality amongst us. The same things are allowed, even appreciated in men but if women try to take the initiative and think outside the box in any foeld, she is immediately scorned upon particularly in the name of Islam.
In the next one, he puts light to the common fact that we as a society are very critical and taunting of other people, while never realising our own faults. Everyone rushes to make fun of someone else especially if they are doing something a little different from the regular societal norms. He shares how he was ridiculed for adopting a female attire for his videos and how he managed to turn the tables around.
It is about time someone with the power of something as influential as YouTube reached out to the masses and pointed out our hypocritical approach. The feminist stance especially, coming from a Pakistani man is vey unusual and very welcome.
Mom is becoming one of the most anticipated thriller of the season. With its release date set on 7th July, this Sridevi, Sajal Ali, Akshaye Khanna, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Adnan Siddiqui starrer keeps coming up in the news. We Pakistanis are especially looking forward to it, due to Sajal Ali and Adnan Siddiqui’s roles in it.
A few days back, Mom’s audio song Freaking Life has been released. It sounds rap and very upbeat. Serves great in agitating your nerves and maybe that is the purpose since the movie is going to be fast paced thriller.
Shafaat Ali has made a name for himself through his hilariously accurate parodies. He became especially popular with his Imran Khan and Bilawal Bhutto initiation. This Ramzan, we saw him hosting Dil Dil Ramzan, alongwith Bushra Ansari and Noman Ejaz and his energy and enthusiasm gained him quite a lot of appreciation. Talking to an online magazine HIP, he discussed in detail about his experiences and aspirations.
Q.How was your experience working alongside a comic-legend, Bushra Ansari on your very own Ramadan transmission? How do you think you’ve evolved with this project?
Syed Shafaat Ali ; I didn’t expect myself to be capable of handling the entire transmission but working alongside Bushra Ansari, Noman Ijaz and many there, it’s just been amazing. I think I’ll be able to do better transmissions now and catch more audiences.
Working in a Ramadan transmission is really tough because it’s religious and has to be a little comic as well, so finding a fine line in between them both is tough.
Q. You’ve been multi-tasking for the past few months on television, you’re making your film debut and much more, how are you manage it all? How does your wife respond to your busy schedule?
Syed Shafaat Ali; I’m travelling with my family and pretty thankful to my supportive wife for cooperating with me because that’s the only way you can take out time for them right now. Family comes first and she was here [in Karachi] with me during the Ramadan transmission as well.
Q. You plan on making your film debut with Parwaaz Hay Junoon, tell us a bit about your decision on why you chose this role, how were you approached and how has the experience been?
Syed Shafaat Ali; I actually had a cameo in Na Maloom Afraad, which was one or one and a half second-long, but I signed Parwaaz Hay Junoon first but it got delayed. Initially I thought I could present a different side of mine with this film and I thought films aren’t able to make much of an impact, but Parwaz Hai Junoon will definitely make a difference.
Q. We’ve all seen your talents in mimicry and acting from videos online, tell us a bit about all the other things you plan on doing and do you think your newfound fame is all credited to your gigantic social media presence?
Syed Shafaat Ali; I don’t think social media is something which requires recommendation; it is based on raw talent and public votes. It’s all about the entertainment and ‘x-factor’ that you have. Of course my fans have a huge part to play and I feel like if you want to make it big, YouTube is now the global PTV. So get yourself registered there and showcase what you have.
Q. We hear you’re also considering a television serial. What other avenues do you wish to explore?
Syed Shafaat Ali; Basically my niche is political comedy [satire] and it has always had a tough, limited audience, I want to work with that on a larger scale. I have been working on something big and Inshallah, I will be introducing it to the Pakistani audience in September.
Q. You want to take stand-up comedy from Pakistan internationally and make it recognized globally. How has that journey been for you so far and what’s next for you?
Syed Shafaat Ali; I actually want that and I recently did a European tour with an amazing audience there; Pakistani stand-up comedy is widely appreciated over there. I did stand-up sessions in Malaysia as well and all over Pakistan too.
The only reason we are not as recognized as other comedians is because we don’t have much knowledge on handling YouTube and if one wants to make it big, sign up there, get registered, learn and claim the stage.
