He concluded his note and said, “Dear Maryam Jaan, may you make many memories and have an amazing trip. May you come back with more adventures and knowledge. Adnan Siddiqui has a been a constant on our screens since the time of Aroosa. There is no doubt that he is extremely talented and unbelievably handsome. But now, with a recent Facebook post, he has shown a fatherly side of himself.

In a poignant post directed to his three kids, Maryam, Daniya and Zayed, he tells them a lesson for childhood through his own journey. He explains that after suffering the loss of his    mother at the young age of 16, he became his own dreamer, his own performer and his own cheerleader. He tells them his love for cricket and his passion for commenting on himself.

Adnan Siddiqui wishes such a childhood for his kids, full of dreams and free play, imagination and innocence. While it’s a pity, our parks and streets are not safe enough for kids to roam freely and wander where their imagination takes them, there are still books. Books that recreate the magic of childhood, that feed creativity and imagination and that encourage the dreaminess of childhood.

So Adnan Siddiqui is a lot like all of us when it comes to parenting. We all share the same fear of losing our kids and their imaginative capabilities in throes of digital media, where other people are for following, trolling and criticising, not for collaborating and creating. Adnan Siddiqui is an actor who has achieved a lot in his career. The tomb of the great Ertugrul in Sogut who can be loosely attributed as the founder of Ottoman Empire going by historical events. “Filming the last few scenes of the last episode of “Mere Paas Tum Ho”. What a thrilling and educating experience this has been. Still remember the day- when the script was offered to me and I was in two minds as to how the audience would react and accept my character… but where ever I travelled and even in Pakistan my character received a fantastic responce.
Not only me, but all the characters were appreciated and after long I’ve worked in a drama where all the characters were equally strong. The direction was upto the mark, engaging dialogues and story line, title song – in short one of the rare drama’s that had everything going for it in the right direction.
Was a lifetime experience and I’m going to miss shooting for it.
But as we say, the show must go on. Upwards and onwards to 2020 and may be more such drama’s.

He talked about Mere Paas Tum Ho and said, “From the direction to the production, acting, and even the soundtrack, this drama is so well-packaged. It’s hard to find technical faults in it. He shared that the audience of Mere Paas Tum Ho is mostly comprised of men. “My first big hit was the drama Uroosa, which was also the first episodic serial that I acted in. Suddenly, I was a big favourite. But back then, my fans were mainly young college girls. Now, the fans are varied; from young girls to older women to men! Did you know that, according to surveys, men comprise 55% of Mere Paas Tum Ho’s audience?”

The writer of the drama is Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar is a misogynist. In an interview, he gave derogatory remarks on women stating that a woman who was unfaithful was not a woman at all in his eyes.

On asking upon from Adnan, whether he thinks that the script is more inclined towards discrediting women?

“It is a very well-told story about something that truly does happen in Pakistani society,” he replied.

“That’s how it needs to be looked at. Ayeza may be the villain, but Hira Mani’s character is depicted in a positive light as an independent woman with strong values. Every TV drama has a story to tell and a lesson to give. I don’t think that the drama has been written specifically for men or for women — it is for the Pakistani audience, overall, and they are connecting well to it.”

Adnan further added that Qamar is a loud man and that’s how he is.“I wouldn’t have said what he said but that’s just the kind of person he is. He has his opinions and he’s unafraid to say them out loud. But look at the title song that he’s written. How effective his wordplay is. That’s what needs to be appreciated!”

Now, Adnan Siddiqui was specifically questioned about the scene, as to whether Shahwar too got misty eyed because he felt Danish’s pain or was it something else altogether.

In the interview, Adnan Siddiqui however shared, “I have a problem when it comes to stopping my tears. A lot of people did ask me if Shahwar felt bad for Danish and so had tears in his eyes. But no. The way Danish mentions his father, I’m sure Humayun thought of his deceased father too at that time, and this made me think about my own father, who used to advice me the same way. I did get emotional and there was this connection in that scene.”

Adding further, Adnan praised Humayun for his superb acting. “The smoothness and emotional way with which Humayun has played Danish, its remarkable. Hats off to him for such a superb role.”

“I must be in my early 20s when I shot one of my first TV ads for Pert Shampoo,” the actor reminisced. Reflecting on the tagline of the advertisement. ‘Hum baal dho rahey hayen aur khayal badal rahey hayen’ quite an illogical tag line in retrospect”, wrote Adnan.

Adnan further added “This was also the time when I had no plans to join the television industry and was content with being a model. As part of the storyboard, I had also visited a girl’s college. Before my interaction with the students, the principal invited me to her office and quite sheepishly asked me to tell the students that I am engaged! Well, I followed through though I am not sure till date that it made any difference to them.”
