The much-anticipated seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) kicked off on Thursday with an impressive opening ceremony at Karachi’s National Stadium. The event began with a documentary shedding light on the journey of cricket in Pakistan featuring a voice over by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ramiz Raja. Singers Atif Aslam and Aima Baig turned up the heat on a cold Karachi evening by performing this year’s anthem ‘Agay Dekh’.

The first leg of 15 matches are being played in Karachi from Jan 27 to Feb 7th. Last night, a star studded match was held in Karachi. Karachi Press Club has organized a protest against the brutalities of Israel on Palestinians today. The purpose of the protest was to record the grievance that is found in people after recent events.

We all know that Palestine needs the help of international community after recent brutal attacks of Israel on the Palestinian territories including Mosque Al Aqsa. We have seen some videos on internet which provoked everyone to gather for a protest.

Our people also support Palestine and they want our artists to show their support too. The people in large number are gathered along with celebrities to record their protest against Israel. The protest started at 4 pm and went on till the whole evening .

The most awaited movie of the year 2013 has finally made its powerful release all over the country including Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Hyderabad and with its first show; the movie has started its journey of making money. The movie is officially released on August 23^rd in all major cinema houses after a 15 days delay in its release. We have been sharing all about the venture and here we are back again sharing the latest moves taken by the team of ‘Main hoon Shahid Afridi’.

Been directed by Syed Ali Raza, the movie revolves around the character that started off from a small town but with his hard work and dedication for cricket, he made his way to the rankings that none could earn in Pakistan, His role would be portrayed by a young cricketer Noman Habib. As the movie is affiliated to a name that can bring any celebrity on screen, Humayun Saeed has had been successful in casting Javed Sheikh, Nadeem Baig, Shafqat Cheema, Ismail Tara, Abid Kashmiri, Annie Jaffry, Seemi Raheel, Farhana Maqsood, Shahzad Sheikh and Shahid Afridi. Humayun himself is also playing an important role in the movie.

As stated above, the movie is now released and its premiere at Atrium Cinemas-Karachi can be regarded as a major celebration of this project. Almost all important celebrities were spotted in the premiere who came to show their support towards fellow friend Humayun Saeed and for local content obviously.

It is to be remembered that a similar movie will be coming up, focusing on the life and achievements of Imran Khan, a former Captain of Pakistan’s Cricket Team. Pakistan’s day was observed with national enthusiasm and patriotism on 23 march like every other year but Pakistan’s day parade was postponed due to bad weather conditions, which was held on 25th march in Islamabad.
