After the Pakistani heart throb Fawad Khan who graced the cover of Hello magazine a few months back, the next person to feature on the cover page of Hello Magazine is none other than the gorgeous Mahira Khan. She was seen in a totally funky avatar in the photo shoot for the magazine and she has managed to carry the funky look with ease. She is looking far more younger and fresh in the new photo shoot as she has managed to look care free but sophisticated at the same time. The cherry on top is of course the exclusive interview of Mahira Khan in the magazine.
Here are a few pictures from her glamorous photo shoot and her exclusive interview for all her fans:
So how do you guys find this photo shoot? Is it a match for Fawad Khan’s photo shoot for the same magazine?
Shaded lenses and an expensive eye makeup can make anyone look good by making their eyes the most beautiful feature. It has been said that eyes sometimes reveal more than the words or expressions can and when it comes to the entertainment industry, acting needs much of this beauty. Here are a few of actresses that possess beautiful eyes which are loved and adored by their followers.
Note: The list is based on my personal judgment; there is no intention of ranking any celebrity on the basis of their features!
So that was my list of most beautiful eyes that we see on screen, Share your views and add any if you have some examples in your mind.
We latey shared the big news of the wedding ceremony been held this month where we saw popular boxer Amir Khan tying the knot of marriage with Faryal Makhdoom. The couple got engaged in 2012 and finally landed up together this year. We did share the ceremony pictures with our readers which covered the Mehndi ceremony and the wedding day. The couple then went for its honeymoon and shared some of its clicks on social media and now that they are back, the reception, that is, the valima took place in Boston.
Here are a few pictures of the couple, Have a look!
We saw the second last episode this week and the show is finally reaching its high ending point. Shayan is back but there is more or less no change in him. His attitude has not changed one bit and I am not really surprised by this. What else can you expect from a person like Shayan? But i must say Mohib Mirza has done a spectacular job as Shayan. I was never Mohib’s fan but I am now and I will be looking forward to more of his shows. I simply have no words to describe how much I adore Saba Qamar, I have always been her fan and I do not think there could be any other actress who could play the role of Irfa.
This week’s episode was highly frustrating and it just irked me to no end. Is there no limit to Shayan’s selfish and judgemental nature? All his guilt vanished when he saw Bilal, Rahima and Irfa together and his possessiveness came back. He quickly concluded that since Rahima calls Bilal Baba, Irfa also has a illegitimate relationship with him and that man had the guts to go and accuse Irfa of being unfaithful to him! Irfa was highly disgusted and offended by his words. Really Shayan? These accusations don’t seem appropriate coming out of the mouth of someone like you. If I disliked Shayan previously, then I happen to hate him now. He even warned Irfa that he could take Rahima from her through the help of court. The gall of this man! He never cared about his sick daughter when he left her all those years ago but all of a sudden he wants to be a part of her life. That’s just great!
He finally met his daughter and was surprised to see that she recognised him as his real father and his guilt was back when he got to know about Minahil still being a part of Bilal’s life and that all his accusations were false. Whats the use of regretting now Shayan? You should have thought about this before going to Irfa’s house and accusing her. Rahima got attached to Shayan in a very short time but Irfa was unaware about them meeting on a regular bases. Rahima did tell Minahil about meeting Shayan and this worried both Minahil and Bilal. Bilal, on the other hand, got a proposal for Irfa from Ansar, a colleague of hers in the hospital and he was just thinking of how to talk to her about it when he got to know about Shayan coming back in her life.
Bilal and Minahil have both been blessed as they got a daughter in the form of Rahima. I love the way she refers to them as Baba and Mummy. Bilal spoils Rahima as he fulfills all her wishes. He has played a very important role in her life as he has filed the gap of a loving father. Irfa tries to stop him from fulfilling all her wishes but he just does not listen to her as he simply loves spoiling her. I do not know what made Minahil come back to Bilal but I am glad that she did.
Shayan again comes back with a guilty conscience and seeks Minahil’s help but this time Irfa is not ready to listen to him. She has every right to be angry at him! Even Bilal gives him a good piece of his mind when Shayan tells him that he is back for his daughter. Where was he all those years when she needed him the most?
I am eagerly waiting for the last episode now. Will Irfa forgive Shayan or will she marry Ansar? What are your views? What should be Irfa’s decision?
Karachi- ‘the city of lights’ is one of the most important locations when it comes to the entertainment industry as it is only here that many celebrities are situated in. The private channels, like Hum TV, ARY Digital, Samaa, etc. are also headquartered in Karachi only, making it an important place in terms of work and opportunity for the celebrities. However, the city is also a victim of a high crime rate where Kidnaping for ransom and target killing has left nobody safe.
According to the latest news, Actress Sajjal Ali is now on the hit-list of Karachi Mafia gang which has made her life hell by demanding Rs. 4 Lakh as an illegal tax of living in Karachi. Sajjal is one of the most youngest actresses who are known for their flawless acting in the drama industry. The actress revealed that she is now receiving life threats through phone calls and she fears that if she would not pay the amount to the said Mafia, they will shot her to death.
Having no other option to escape, the actress is now planning to shift somewhere else leaving Karachi which is now becoming a city of Blood. Being the central city in the entertainment industry, it might not be a profitable decision of moving somewhere else but Sajjal is not left with any other option.

It is a dilemma that after the traders and businessmen of the country, it is now the celebrities who will suffer the blow!
Hum TV and ARY Digital are trying hard to win the race where the two of them are really the strong contestants when it comes to providing the quality content to the viewers, Been inspired by an Indian reality show ‘Fear Factor’, it was recently that ARY came up with a reality show called ‘Madventurous’ which was hosted by Ahsan Khan where the two teams, team India and team Pakistan performed different stunts to make their country win in the race. It is now Hum Network that will be bringing you a similar reality show on HUM2.
The show ‘Challenger’ will focus on daring people who will perform difficult stunts with their favorite celebrities on screen and will win Rs. 1Million if they remained undefeated for 15 days.
The auditions are still been carried out at Arts Council, Karachi and if you are interested in being a part of this dangerous, yet daring reality show, all you need to do is to fill this form by clicking here! It is important to mention that the idea is only applicable to those who are above 18 and are medically fit.
It is difficult to state more about the types of tasks that would be the part of the show yet, however, its first promo is on air and up till now,has made the audience thrilled about it, The show will soon go on air once done with the initial stages of auditions and finalizing the final contestants.
Yes, I know we have a very free media now. The private channels can literally get away with the most eccentric of things sometimes. The public can criticize or show their dislike as much as they want but no one listens. The television is for the public isn’t it? So, the people who organize these shows should keep people’s wishes in mind. Unfortunately, controversy and controversial people get more TRPs whether or not the viewers want to see them on-screen. There are a few people especially the morning show hosts and some actors who I think do not deserve to be on television at all but there is one person in particular who should be officially banned from television and that is Mathira. She needs no introduction because she has done enough publicity for herself for everyone to know who she is. Here are five reasons why Mathira should not appear on television.
1. The Woman Makes You Want To Throw Up The Second She Opens Her Mouth! Mathira never talks sense, everything she has to say is in some way or the other associated with all the dirty thoughts that her mind is filled with. I watched the morning show in which Mathira and Ahsan were guests, one would expect Mathira to be a little decent in a morning show since it is a family affair. But Mathira does not know the meaning of decency. The things she did and said were unbelievable. So much so that Nida Yasir, the host of the show had to tell her that Ahsan Khan’s wife may be watching the show. She is height of indecency and vulgarity.
2. Her Gestures Are Cheapness Personified. Forget about Mathira opening her mouth, just mute the channel and look at this woman’s gestures and that alone will be enough to make you punch her. Flying kisses are like hellos to Mathira and it does not end there! I am sure all of you who have seen this woman on-screen know what I am talking about.
3. No One Wants To See Her On TV!Is there anyone out there who actually looks forward to watching Mathira on-screen? How many of you can watch her with your family? She is definitely not one of those people who leave you with a good feeling. Why should she be on-screen when no one wants to see her? The television is for the viewers so the people who organize these shows should keep people’s wishes in mind.
4. Attention Seekers Put Me Off. It is very obvious that Mathira does all of what she does to get attention. She is hungry for attention; she will resort to any measure to be in the paper or in the news. Why do the TV channels feel that they need to feed this desire of hers to get attention? People are more “curious” about such people than anything else so I think the channels also try to cash in on this curiosity.
5. She Gives Out The Wrong Message About Pakistani Celebrities And People. We have so many educated and decent celebrities who work extra hard to give Pakistan a good image. People like Mathira cancel out the efforts of such people because they give the wrong image of our industry and people. When someone is on television people will presume that it is normal for Pakistanis to watch such people on TV when actually it is not because people like Mathira are outcasts in our society who don’t belong or fit in anywhere.
Do you think Mathira should be banned from television? Share your views.
No matter which showbiz industry you examine closely, you will see a lot of examples where one member being a celebrity turns into an opportunity for the rest of his family members and this story is all about Humayun Saeed, who is a veteran actor of Pakistan’s entertainment industry. He is also known for his production house and the dramas been produced by him. It has been recently seen that the actor disappeared from the Pakistan drama industry due to his busy schedules for his upcoming movie “Main Shahid Afridi hoon” and will now make a comeback with a drama serial that has already attracted a good number of viewers before its promo been on air. The drama comes under the title of ‘Bin Roye Aansu’ which is written by Farhat Ishtiaq and Humayun will be seen with Mahira Khan on screen.
While Humayun is considered as an old gem by the youth of today, it is his younger brother who will now be appearing on screen this Ramadan in a special Ramadan play ‘Yeh Shadi Nahi Ho Sakti’. Salman Saeed who has been caught with his elder brother often in interviews and ceremonies will make his debut with Urwa Hocane next month.
Nothing more can be revealed about the play yet but there is one thing for sure that there are a lot of expectations attached with Salman Saeed by the fans of Humayun, who would love to follow his brother if Salman proved himself on screen!
We got to see another fully entertaining episode this week as the show took a leap of 5 years. This show has been known for its fast pace since the very first episode and we again saw a very fast paced episode this week. Sanam and Sarwat once again played their characters to perfection! These two are surprising me more and more every week with their brilliant performance. Sanam’s dialogue delivery has improved immensely since the past few episodes. I really loved a few dialogues in the show this week spoken by Silah.
“Tumhare Jaate Hee Uska Raasta Saaf Hogaya
Rasta To Woh Kabka Badal Chuka Tha”
Silah had this exchange of dialogues with Safeena when she informed her about Adeel’s second marraige. Nabeela came to visit Silah and she was the one to inform Silah about Adeel’s marriage to Zoya but she was not aware that Silah did not know about this. Silah finally found a true friend in Nabeela as she fully sympathized with Silah because she knew Adeel had done wrong with her. Silah saw how pure her intentions were and accepted her whole heartedly as a friend. Both Sami and Nabeela became an important part of her life from then on and they even stayed back in Pakistan to help establish her business. Ahmer and Safeena also provided full support to Silah and helped her stand back on her own feet. She was reluctant to start working again because of her lack of confidence in herself but they both managed to convince her overtime. Silah may have lost Adeel but she still has some genuine people in her life who are different from the selfish Adeel as they always stand by her side through thick and thin.
I am seriously sick and tired of Zoya’s games and schemes now. This woman just never stops! First she created a huge fuss about Nabeela insulting her and she accused Adeel for not defending her and this accusation did not go well with Adeel and they had a fight. But Zoya being Zoya quickly changed her colors and reconciled with Adeel and emotionally blackmailed Adeel to convince him to move to some other house as she felt that their house had memories of Silah and she was not comfortable with them. Zoya’s mother as usual bad mouthed Adeel about his behavior but Zoya did not pay heed to her mother’s words as she was too busy planning her next step. She was eager to change the house and Adeel fulfilled her wish very soon. One surprising fact that I noticed about Adeel is that he never bad mouths Silah anymore. He even praised her once in the last episode and did not utter a word when Nabeela was praising Silah in front of him. Weird isn’t it? Maybe he is finally realizing Silah’s value but is not ready to accept it. He has some serious ego issues!
The best part about the episode was the entry of a new baby who was also named Affan. Silah was blessed with another baby boy and she got her courage, hope and confidence when he came in her life. She started anew and left the past behind her and moved on in her life. Now her world revolved around Affan and her job and she was seen happy in her new life. Silah, however, refused to let Adeel know about the new baby because she still blamed him for Affan’s untimely death. She did not want Adeel to have any relationship with this new baby and Safeena and the rest accepted her decision. But for how long will she able to hide this from Adeel? He will get to know one day and he will create a huge fuss about it. According to the preview for the next episode, he will meet Affan but I do not think he will get to know that Affan is his son anytime soon.
The adorable Affan is a bundle of joy not only for her mother, but also for Ahmer. I loved the bonding between Ahmer and Affan and I simply loved all of Affan scenes with Silah. I am really looking forward to the next episode now! I cannot wait for Silah and Adeel’s confrontation.
The lady most wanted these days, an actress who is best known for her outstanding performance as Kashaf in the phenomenal drama serial Zindagi Gulzar hai is enjoying much of the fame these days. Sanam Saeed is now seen promoting different brands and was recently doing a theatre Dhani with Sarwat Gillani being an important part of the theatre too. The actress is highly educated and made her debut on television with the drama ‘Daam’ from which she turned on as a potential actress and since then doing justice to all the roles that are been offered to her.
Sanam lately gave an interview to the Paper Magazine, doing some modelling for the magazine where she is seen wearing different brands. She is often seen carrying herself pretty well in the western outfits and it is most of the time that she is wearing something trendy and much latest rather than the formal dresses that are followed within the country. Although, once in a morning show with Nida Yasir, she did mention that she is not brand conscious( wearing a Khaadi dress), she is still admired by her fans for her dressing.
Here are a few pictures of Sanam from the latest edition of Paper Magazine that reveal more about the the actress and the fact that she is truly an icon in the fashion industry these days!
Amarbail is a love story of Umer Jehangir and Aleezay Sikandar, set-up in the backdrop of Pakistani bureaucratic culture. A very simply written novel of Umera Ahmed, deals with multiple issues of our society in a very intriguing manner. It is a story of imbalanced relationships, broken families, lust for power, complexes, insecurities and amidst all problems of love, its intensity and sacrifices. It depicts the true face of our bureaucratic system, highlighting social evils like corruption, nepotism and injustice and how at times going against the law is the only way to punish the culprits.
The novel touches your heart by its brilliant portrayal of human emotions and psychology. It revolves around Umer Jehangir and Aleezay Sikandar. Two people both from broken bureaucrat families. Aleezay Sikandar who had her complexes, her desire in life to be loved and taken care of and Umar Jehangir, a character with multiple shades.
What makes Umer intriguing and fascinating are the imperfections in him, a character that is very re, alistic but never sketched before, a mixture of good and evil, far from the usual perfect hero; normally depicted in our novels. On the surface he was a selfish and corrupt man, but deep inside he had a caring and sensitive heart, who longed for his mother’s love, cared for his friends and was totally aware of his own weaknesses and that awareness of himself is what made him sacrifice his love. In short he is a character one cannot resist falling in love with despite all his weaknesses
Starting his acting career with his first drama “Daam” which was directed by Mehreen Jabbar, Muhammad Yasir has now finally got his first big break in the Hollywood industry and will soon be seen in a British Movie “Lily Moore Is My Friend”. which is expected to release soon this year.
The actor was also seen in Geo TV’s play “Hum Tum” where his acting skills attracted huge fans and he gathered a good audience on his social media fan pages. He disappeared for some time from screen but now he is all back with a news that will definitely cover the gap encountered in his acting career. Like any other celebrity, an offer from a Hollywood movie is more than a treat for him and cherry on the top, he will be doing a lead role in the project.
The movie revolves around three characters and the love triangle that exists in between them. Yasir will be playing a role of an Indian guy who happens to fall in love with a girl. It is difficult to reveal more about the storyline as the officials haven’t leaked much about it on social media.
Looking forward to this Movie, we wish him all the best for his biggest break of life,
For me the best thing about this latest installment was Arzoo and Kiran’s friendship, the few light hearted moments between the sisters and of course Sikandar and Kiran’s encounter. Sikandar and Arzoo finally met and the conversation between the two revolved more around Kiran than anything else. Sikandar seemed cold and arrogant in the few scenes that were shown today; I would have liked to see more of him so that the viewer’s could understand his character better. I have to say that Fahad Mustafa wasn’t exactly the perfect choice for playing this character because he does not seem very comfortable in his role. What he does looks a little too much like acting, with so much spontaneous and natural actors around that is just not good enough. However, the scenes between Kiran and Sikandar were very well done. Fahad Mustafa seemed much more comfortable playing the man who was love struck, arrogance doesn’t really suit him. Sanam Baloch’s acting like always was top-notch in every single scene; she emotes effortlessly and is always in top form. Just when I thought that Kankar may never grow on me, I was pleasantly surprised when Sikandar and Kiran’s encounters changed the feel of the entire episode.
I must confess that the way all the girls in the play (with the exception of Kiran) are obsessed with the idea of marriage is a little annoying. Irim is only twenty and she reacted as if it was the end of the world when she found out about Shoaib’s engagement. Rukhsar throws a fit when she finds out about Irim’s engagement and Arzoo’s only purpose in life is to get married to the man of her dreams! I have most certainly seen girls who are in love with the idea of being married at this age but I have to say that watching them on-screen isn’t actually delightful.
There are a lot of characters in the play and many families involved. I am wondering how Rukhsar’s track in particular is relevant to the main story. The problem with too many characters and too many tracks is that if the focus is lost then any play can become very tedious. I am hoping that the focus will be on Sikandar and Kiran because I am definitely looking forward to seeing more of them. For the first time I am actually looking forward to the next episode because I am waiting to find out how the entire family is going to react when Sikandar will break the news to them and how it will affect Arzoo and Kiran’s friendship. I also want to know why exactly Sikandar fell for Kiran instantly. Was it because of her overflowing confidence? He seemed like a completely different person after the encounter.
Kiran is very close to her father and Kamal isn’t exactly in Kiran’s father’s good books. How will he react to the proposal, is a million dollar question too. The “ap ne poori duniya ghoomi hui hai, hur kisam ke khanay khaye hun gay” dialogue reminded me of what Kashaf said to her mother about Zaroon! When Kiran comes back from Arzoo’s house, her clothes seemed a little inappropriate; nothing matched and they were completely out of place. Other than that I am in love with Kiran’s character; her confidence and carefree attitude is subtle and fresh.
For me this episode was the best one so far because the last few scenes gave me something to look forward to. I am hoping that the play will pick up pace from the next episode and hopefully the focus will be more on the main characters. The actress playing Arzoo is very cute, her dialogue delivery may not be perfect but she has a good chemistry with Sanam Baloch or should I say Sanam Baloch is all chemistry, she makes every single scene worthwhile. Honestly speaking, I have great expectations from umera Ahmed and don’t want to be led down. Please feel free to share your views about this latest installment.
Playing an important role in Shoaib Mansoor’s Khuda K Liye, Naseeruddin is an Indian veteran actor who has always received an applause for every role he picks. Lets see what this movie brings out for the audience,
Serving Humanity and appreciating anything that is done for the welfare of the society is a great idea. It feels good when we see our celebrities playing their role and taking out some time from their busy lives and spending it with the needy and the lonely ones who are also a part of us. Here are a few pictures of celebrities and their dedication towards the patients of Shaukat Khanum Cancer hospital. These celebrities have not only contributed by spending some time with them but have also donated decently to the organization.
Have a look!
I hope that you find this post touching enough to share your views about the suffering ones of the society and the role that we all should play towards their welfare.
This week’s episode depicted a very common problem in our society. Why are the girl’s families always the victim of all the insults from her in laws? The girl’s in laws make the most unreasonable demands and the girl’s family need to fulfill all these demands just because their daughter is a part of that house. I am glad they showed this issue in this show and they did manage to depict the helplessness of the girl’s family perfectly!
Maryam’s mother in law seems to be in no mood to accept Maryam even after Afsha’s problem has been solved and she has gone back to her house. She leaves no chance to insult, humiliate and degrade Maryam in all possible ways. First she complained to Zayaan about her manners as Mehnaz taunted Nusrat that Maryam did not meet her properly which is not true at all. She treated all the guests with respect but was reluctant to socialize with them as she still blames herself for everything they had gone through recently.
Nusrat pointed fingers at Maryam’s upbringing and Zayaan got annoyed and told her to resolve all her issues regarding Maryam by talking to her and this gave Nusrat another chance to taunt Maryam and that is exactly what she did. She insulted Maryam badly and even pointed fingers at her family and her background and this is when Sultan came and heard Nusrat verbally abusing Maryam and in anger he answered back to Nusrat and Nusrat got highly offended. She then created a huge drama just to humiliate Maryam further and she kept the childish demand that Sultan should apologize to her in the presence of his parents. The shocking part is that Zayaan agreed and he even kept this demand in front of Maryam and when she tried to reason with him, Zayaan was not ready to listen to anything! Is this the same Zayaan who was dying to marry Maryam once upon a time?
My heart went out for Maryam when she had to beg Nusrat to take her demand back but Nusrat showed no pity and Maryam finally had to call Sultan and ask him to come and apologize and bring their parents along. Maryam’s parents were unaware of everything that had happened and were happy to visit Maryam’s house for the first time but they were in for a shock when Nusrat started behaving rudely with them and questioned their upbringing. The way Sultan apologized with his hands joined and head bowed was unbearable to watch! If this was not enough, his father made him go on his knees and apologize! I cannot imagine what Maryam would have felt seeing her parents and brother’s humiliation. Ayeza Khan has done a commendable job in this episode as she beautifully portrayed the inner turmoil Maryam was going through.
While Maryam was facing all this humiliation alone, Zayaan was enjoying lunch with Faiza. Zayaan, this is the same Faiza you hated and refused to marry, don’t you remember? I have no idea what happened to Zayaan all of a sudden! I cannot believe someone can change so much in such a short time. We got to see a new male chauvinistic side of Zayaan as according to him it is not necessary to tell wives everything, really Zayaan? Apparently his views about Faiza has also changed after she helped Afsha and convinced Khurram to take her back into the house. He has started taking Maryam for granted and I cannot believe he refused to come when Maryam asked him to come to give her moral support! He did not even tell her that he was with Faiza and just told her to deal with everything herself. Faiza was seen gloating when she saw Zayaan talking rudely to Maryam. So far she has been succeeding in her plan as Zayaan has started to treat her properly but how long will she able to keep up the façade that she has accepted Zayaan and Maryam’s relationship? Not for long I am sure!
The preview for the next episode looks promising as Nusrat’s attitude is going to change after she hears the news of the baby.
After the budget been passed by the PML-N government yesterday, while half of the country is still shocked to have the worst budget ever, there is one clause in the budget 2013 that is appreciated by the people affiliated to the entertainment industry of Pakistan. The government has placed an additional tax on the import of all foreign content which was promoted previously within the country, including the airing of Foreign dramas( The Turkish and the Indian) drama serials and the foreign movies(Hollywood and Bollywood, both).
This is strange that even the salaries of the government employees have not increased and the General Sales Tax (GST) has also increased on the purchase of every product. Taking full advantage of the hype been created by the Local entertainment industry, the government took a move where every channels will have to pay a tax of Rs.100,000 per episode of the foreign drama going on-air. Similarly, the Cinemas are now bound to pay a tax of 1 Million for showing any foreign content in Cinemas, meaning a total loss if the movie doesn’t receives a good response from the audience. Moreover, the cinemas would increase the ticket fee, making the citizens suffer directly or indirectly.
The foreign Dramas, however, did face a lot of criticism where many celebrities considered the airing of Turkish Dramas as a threat to the local talent few months back but despite of long protests and wild talk shows, nothing was seen been practically implemented. With the budget been proposed by this new government, It is expected that foreign dramas will significantly decrease.

I am a drama fan to the core, I live and breathe dramas. I cannot even count how many dramas I am usually watching at a given time because I try to stay in touch with, if not watch regularly, most of the dramas that go on air. There were a few thoughts brewing in my mind which I would like to share with everyone. I would really like to hear what other people have to say about these things. They are just random thoughts coming from an average viewer, nothing that is coming from an expert or a critic. Since most of the people who visit drama sites are just as much into dramas as me so this could lead to an interesting discussion.
Are Friday Nights Fixed For Umera Ahmed’s Plays Only On Hum TV? If yes then what if Kankar doesn’t do as well as its predecessors? Shehr-e-Zaat despite of some weaknesses was a big hit. The script in particular was a winner; people looked forward to it every week and loved discussing it. I remember the number of comments that used to be there under the Shehr-e-Zaat thread. Same was the case with Zindagi Gulzar Hai as well, it had an enormous fan following and was a must watch play. When these two plays were on air most of the drama viewers were following these two plays on Friday nights and not any other. Kankar hasn’t exactly started off that strong and it did not receive the kind of applause and attention that Shehr-e-Zaat and Zindagi Gulzar Hai did. If the trend continues will Hum TV move Kankar to a weekday? It has done this before with other dramas that were not doing well. In fact channels do it all the time because the competition on the weekend is most tough and there is maximum viewer ship. People, who may not watch dramas all week, certainly watch it on the weekend. Not to mention the fact that people usually have very high hopes from a drama that airs on Hum TV on a weekend. What do you people think? Will Kankar manage to grip the audience the way its predecessors did? And if it doesn’t then will Hum TV move it to another day? If they do so, it may offend the writer. Momina Duraid and Sultana Siddiqui both are very fond of Umera Ahmed, so they won’t do anything that will upset her. Time will tell! A very important question also is that do people have better things to watch on other channels on a Friday night? I feel that had AunnZara been shifted to the Friday slot instead of Thursday, it could have proven to be a strong contender.
Why Can’t We Have More Plays Like Dastaan? I watched Dastaan recently and I must say that it made me think about things which most dramas do not delve into. It reminded me of the sacrifices that millions of Muslims made in order to get this country and also the idealism on the basis of which Pakistan was formed. We need more dramas like Dastaan that will make us think on those lines and promote patriotism. That has to be more important than highlighting marital problems over and over again.
Why Doesn’t Hum TV Air A & B Productions Serials? Yes, someone please enlighten me, what is the issue between these two? It is very obvious that Hum TV does not air dramas that are produced by this production house, although it is one of the biggest production houses in the country, producing maximum dramas. There are so many people who prefer to watch dramas on Hum TV. Also, Hum TV live is available online, so those people who are living abroad can watch it easily too. Hum TV has worked hard to make a name for itself, that is also another reason because of which people prefer Hum TV dramas. It will definitely benefit A & B productions if their dramas were to go on air on Hum TV. Would you like to see A & B Production’s serials on Hum TV? Please share your opinion.
Can We Please Have Family Dramas Back? I miss the good old PTV days of the 80s when dramas were a family affair. There were very few dramas that would go on air in a week back then because there was only one channel but watching dramas was a ritual for the entire family. The housewives finished their work before 8pm, the entire household had dinner by that time and even the kids’ bedtime was after they had watched the drama. Even a five year old could comfortably sit with his or her parents and siblings and watch the drama. That is not the case anymore. There is no play on air nowadays that one can watch with an older sibling even. It is impossible to watch these plays with children or even your parents sometimes.
Enough Of Married Couples And Their Problems! No matter what the central theme of the play is, the story will in some way revolve around a married couple. That is true for most of the dramas that are on air nowadays. Marriage is a very important social obligation and most of the women who watch dramas are housewives but I think we are getting an overdose of shadi shuda couples and their big and small issues in our dramas. First the problem is getting the girls married and after that the issue is the problems they face after marriage. We have had some wonderful dramas in the dramas like Tanhaiyaan, Aangan Tera and many other classics which managed to be hits without focusing on the issue of marriage.
Pakistani dramas have a great deal going for them but there is always room for improvement. Also, it would be even better if channels did not give preference to certain production houses and writers.
There is good news for all the foreign drama haters out there who have been against the airing of foreign shows since the very first day. PEMRA has recently announced that there will be an increased tax on foreign content to protect the local industry from foreign competition. It is about time they took this step to protect our prospering industry from foreign competition.
The trend of foreign shows started with the channel Urdu 1 which started airing Turkish and Indian shows. After the stupendous success of Ishq Mamnu, various other Pakistani channels also started airing Turkish shows. Even now a very famous Turkish show Fatima Gul is being aired on Urdu 1 which has received a remarkable response from audiences. Other Turkish shows include Fareb, Fariha, Bewafaai, Noor that airs on different Pakistani channels like Geo TV, Express and Urdu 1. The sad part is that the story did not end here and Indian shows also started airing on different Pakistani channels on prime slots which irked the viewers to no end. Many celebrities like Faisal Qureshi, Samina Peerzada, Shahood Alvi, Aijaz Aslam, Saba Hameed and many others have been seen voicing their protest against the airing of foreign content on various channels. Other than that there are many Indian shows like Qubool Hai, Badde Ache Lagte Hai, Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke, Anamika, Hitler Didi that airs on the channel Express and Geo TV. Recently Hum TV also aired the promos of a Turkish show which shocked and disappointed the audiences. What will be the future of all these shows now?
Following Urdu 1’s lead, Geo has recently launched a new channel Geo Kahani which features Indian, Turkish and Pakistani content. Urdu 1 followed by Geo and Express air the largest number of foreign shows and the increased tax will not be good for them as this might reduce their profit margin by a huge amount. Geo Kahani and Urdu 1 which airs almost 90% foreign content will be in big trouble now!
There are mixed views about the new policy to increase taxes. Here are a few comments posted by various people on Facebook:
“Now that is a big step to protect our culture, this tax should increase every year”
“They were buying them cheap now they will have to spend money. I hope this tax is strictly enforced”
“Stupid decision, you can’t restrict the right of people to entertainment, they will watch what they like…”
“The sad part is that that tax generated will not be used to support and promote our industry…. sorry for being pessimistic but that is how it works”
“But why to promote foreign dramas on Pakistani channels? Our industry is full of talent! Fine you can’t restrict anybody choices if they want to see these shows but it is better if they enjoy through other sources of course. Not acceptable on Pakistani channels!”
“Thank God! Something very much needed & a sensible decision”
“No worries our channel owners are filthy rich, they will pay or they will bribe the authorities and will air those crap!”
“So happy to hear that but let’s see to what extent this policy is implemented”
“Are you kidding! How would it stop them? It is a TV channel and would happily pay the government”
I personally think this is a major step towards discouraging foreign content shown on local channels. If this new policy is effectively implemented then it may reduce the amount of foreign content on different channels. The complete removal of such foreign shows may take a while as there are some loyal viewers of foreign content.
So what do you guys think about this new policy? Will it reduce the amount of foreign content aired on different Pakistani channels?
The channel thats owns a bold attitude since the day of its launch, is again in news, but this time not for the intimate scenes of male and female actors but something even bigger. Thanks to the influences of the world outside and the neighboring country the most, Pakistani society is now enjoying an ease of discussing the Gay love and the Gay existence openly. The topics that were once not even discussed in homes openly are now becoming a part of entertainment industry-Openly.
If you have watched the latest episode of ‘Humnasheen’ that went on-air this Sunday, June 9th’ 13, you must be knowing what the news is all about. The drama showed Gays making love with a blurred picture, still intimate enough to guess what the channel was trying to show. Living in a Muslim Country, the audience who watched it took a notice against this and up till now PEMRA has received a lot of complaints, asking it to take right actions against the channel, which is trying to promote unethical acts within the country (as stated in the complaints).
HUM TV, in response to the fingers pointed at it stated that the channel had no intentions of promoting vulgarity and the motive of letting such a scene going on air was to show the bitter reality of the society. It is not the first time that HUM TV landed up in this scenario, in fact it was before too that the channel was criticized for a drama called ‘Larki Chahie?’.

It is really indecent of media that such ideas are first implemented and then shown on screen.
So they finally fast forwarded the show and we got to see each character 10 years later. The look of all characters has been altered but I am glad they did not over do the makeover. In some shows, they make the actors look extremely artificial in an attempt to make them look old.
Shayan returned to Maleeha after she tried to commit suicide and was showing living with her for the past 10 years. I really wish he had not returned to Maleeha! Maleeha is still the same stubborn, spoiled Maleeha who thinks she owns the world and she still has the habit of doubting Shayan and keeping an eye on him all the time. Some people just never change! The two were seen constantly bickering about one issue or the other. Sometimes it would be about her suspicious nature and sometimes it would be about her not having any kids. Even after 10 years Shayan and Maleeha were not blessed with children and when I heard this only one thought occurred to me; when Shayan was blessed with a beautiful girl he did not care about her and now when he has no kids, he is coveting a child. Talk about Karma!
Rahima was shown all grown up but sadly she could not enjoy her childhood days like the rest of the children because of her disease. It was heart breaking to watch the little child suffer but I was very glad to see Bilal still being there for both Irfa and Rahima and helping them throughout the worst years of their life when they were left without support. Shayan had never looked back at them for the past 10 years and they managed very well even without his support. Bilal paid all of Rahima’s expenses for her treatment and he was the one who also gave money for Rahima’s major operation after which she would be able to lead a normal life like any other kid as she would no longer need the blood transfusions.
While Rahima’s operation was successful, Maleeha’s condition was getting worse. She was suffering from lung cancer from a long time but because of her carelessness it had spread all over her body and she was living the last few days of her life. She finally learned her lesson and was repenting and recalling all her unjust treatment with Irfa and her daughter and with all the other people in her life. She finally confessed to Shayan about her lie that she had told him all those years ago and asked Shayan to apologies to Irfa on her behalf. She told him that Irfa had never sold him to her; she had signed the divorce papers but had thrown the blank check on her face. Shayan was extremely shocked to hear this confession as he had been thinking all this time that Irfa has sold her love for money. All he could do at this point was to regret everything that he had done to Irfa and his daughter. There is just no use of regretting now Shayan! You just never deserved a great person like Irfa. She is way better off without you.
Shayan had gone abroad for Maleeha’s treatment and he comes back after her death with a sad heart and a huge burden on his conscience. Maleeha’s confession had left him restless and the guilt was so overpowering that he did not have the strength to go back to Irfa and apologize to her. Adeel Farooqui convinces him to go back as he thinks Irfa would forgive him and she might be even waiting for him. Oh please! I really hope nothing like this happen. Bilal is the best person for Irfa as he had been there for her through thick and thin. Irfa should just kick Shayan out of her house if he goes back because this is what he deserves.
The show is nearing towards its end and I am waiting to see what the climax would be. Would Irfa forgive and accept Shayan back In her life?
Men have as much of a right to be fashionable as women. This is the reason why men are also a very active a part of our fashion industry. But shouldn’t there be a difference between the kind of fashion men and women do? Sometimes you see men in our fashion shows wearing things that have nothing to do with their gender. Showing creativity is one thing but why do these fashion designers forget that some things look totally absurd. I understand that men can wear jewelry that is specifically designed for them. I am all for men wearing bright colors too but since when is it okay and fashionable for men to wear duppatta. Well, not only duppattas but also garlands of flowers that are specifically meant for females. Apart from that there is also no difference between the kind of jewelry the men and the women usually wear in these fashion shows. Our Fashions shows do not represent our society or culture in any way even when it comes to the kind of clothes that the women wear. There is more skin than actual clothes. We hardly ever see any of the women actually wearing these clothes that are exhibited in fashion shows in real life but I guess the eccentricity and boldness of the female side of the fashion industry has gradually been accepted by people. There is more tolerance and less criticism.
Tolerance is a good thing but now are we expected to tolerate and accept this strange aspect of men’s fashion which makes no sense whatsoever. There is news that for the first time in Pakistan, there will be a Men’s Fashion Week this year at the end of August. I am actually dreading the sort of things that we will get to see in these shows. Duppattas, garlands, anklets, what is next? The truth of the matter is that male models have to fight a very hard battle to survive in the industry. This is the reason that very few of them have been able to make a name for themselves. One of the top Pakistani male models Nomi Qamar in his interview to NewsLine confessed that, “some of the stylist and photographers share the young male models as ‘gifts’ with each other”. But he also adds that it is something very common all around the world so it should not be considered a big deal.
I find it difficult to believe that some male model will gladly out of his own will dress up like a woman and walk on the ramp but it is happening. We are slowly thinning the differences between genders, not in a good way but in a bad way. As a society we are always debating that whether men and women should have equal rights or not. Now the new debate is that is it okay for men to wear women’s clothes and accessories? It seems very wrong to me. What is your opinion?

The show may have gotten a bit boring after the first 8 or 9 episodes but now since the past 3 weeks, it is back on track. We got to see one shocking twist after the other; First Affan’s death then Adeel’s marriage to Zoya and then the news of the second baby. Now I must confess that I am even more hooked to the show than before because the twists are keeping the show alive and providing perfect entertainment to the viewers. Sanam Jung and Sarwat Gillani are the show stealers as they both have managed to impress me with their brilliant performance. Sarwat was never seen doing a character like this before and she has breathed life into Zoya’s character while Sanam Jung has just shocked me with her beautiful performance in her very first serial. Sorry to all Imran Abbas’s fans out there, he has done justice to his character but for me these two lovely ladies is the reason why I watch this show week after week.
This episode concentrated on showing what Silah’s character is going through, her inner turmoil, her guilt and regret. Safeena and Ahmer are two major people in her life who are helping her through this tough time. Safeena wants Silah to start over and help her in her business which she has decided to re open but Silah’s confidence has been crushed after what Adeel did to her and she does not consider herself capable of taking the responsibility of such a big task. The scene where she is shown remembering her life before marriage and all her memories with Adeel and Zehra Chachi was heart breaking to watch. Ahmer quickly rushed to her side when he saw her hysterical state and tried to console her. I absolutely loved this scene and hats off to Sanam who did an absolutely wonderful job as the scene came out perfect.
I cannot believe that Adeel was the one to patch things up with Zoya after what she had asked of him. After Zoya’s mother filed her ears that she would hold no place in Adeel’s life as long as Silah is there and told her to ask Adeel to give divorce to Silah, she actually went up to Adeel and kept her demand in front of him. Adeel got angry at her demand and tried to convince her that Silah was no longer a part of their lives but he got upset when she kept on insisting. Well, the interesting part is that he was the one who initiated the talking and gave in to Zoya’s demand to divorce Silah! What caused the drastic change in him all of a sudden? He was never this polite or kind to Silah! He never apologized to Silah because of his extra big ego but he kept his ego aside and patched things up with Zoya. That’s just great!
Only one good thing came out of Adeel’s mouth in this episode and I could not believe my ears when he said those words. He praised Silah and compared her with Zoya when Zoya complained that there was no food in the house. He told her that Silah had been there during the worst days of his life when he was jobless and not her. Zoya got angry when Adeel mentioned Silah’s name but she controlled her anger and quickly went and apologized to Adeel for her and her mother’s behavior. This made Adeel happy and their cozy moments together were just unbearable to watch! This is just the beginning Adeel, you are yet to know the real Zoya!
Sami and Nabeela’s visited Adeel’s house and the situation got very awkward for all of them when Adeel introduced Zoya as his wife. Nabeela’s lecture to Adeel was very much needed as he needed to be given a reality check. He never valued Silah’s unconditional love for him and never thought from her point of view but Nabeela’s words were very much needed at this point and I hope Adeel ponders over them.
The preview for the next episode seems interesting as we will get to see the entry of a new baby and he will also be named Affan. I am looking forward to the next episode now!
It is not new that the actors of yesterday are now known as the producers of today and Reema Khan is a good example of it. After her last movie ‘Love Main Gumm’, Reema is now planning to come up with her second project as a producer, primarily focusing on an Indo-Pak movie to be her next venture. The idea is about to take a real shape as Reema has already taken permission from her husband and has asked her sister Maairah Khan to find investors for her project. What many of you might not be knowing is the fact that Reema’s sister Maairah works as a manager in a reputed Bank and had managed her sister in her last movie. Being a part of a major bank, Maairah is now finding investors and businessmen she know who can finance the movie and make the idea turn into a real project.
Reema has lately been noticed in her Tour guide program that she is hosting all the way from United States and will now soon be coming to Pakistan to work out on the project. The news has buzzed off her fans on social media websites where she is been discussed on different fan pages.
Let us see, what Reema has got now to bring it on screen after her last movie, but there is one thing for sure, that all the celebrities in general, are trying to raise the standards of the Lollywood industry which is a positive move towards the development of the industry.
While Reema has taken a new role in her professional career after her marriage, It might be Meera who too switch towards production after her marriage this June as revealed by the spokeman.
We wish all the best to Reema for her future endeavours,
Sanam Saeed and Sarwat Gillani both need no introduction as they have established their places in the industry. Zindagi Gulzar Hai’s Kashaf and Dil-e-Muztar’s Zoya were seen together recently in a theatre play called ‘Dhaani’. If their performances onscreen have kept you hooked then this play would leave you awestruck. The play was co-produced by Shaan and Umar Sultan and written by Aamra Alam and Imrana Maqsood. Dhaani was one of the most hyped and well promoted theater play as the producer left no stone unturned to promote it as it had a lot of potential. Sarwat and Sanam were seen in different morning shows and they were also seen giving interviews to different news channels for its promotion. Well, it is obvious that this well promoted play was house full almost every day and was well received by the audiences. A lot of celebrities also came to the watch the beautiful performances by Sanam Saeed and Sarwat Gillani. The demand of this play exceeded everyone’s expectation and it was extended from its original 16 days (15th May to 31st May) to 19 days (till 2th June). I must also add that they also hiked the price in the last three days!
The 75 minutes long play was a mixture of humor, sarcasm, cliched phrases and most importantly showed a very realistic environment. It was the story of two housewives Ruqaiya (Sanam Saeed) and Rashida (Sarwat Gillani) who happens to be each others’ neighbors. They are friends as well as foes; they argue, flight, gossip but in the end they are always there for each other. Sanam Saeed character is shown as an egotistical and dominating woman while Sarwat is more of a bubbly type with a typical middle class mindset. Ruqaiya shares her doubts about her husband having an affair with Rashida and this is what the whole story revolves around. Rashida with her typical middle class mindset starts filing Ruqaiya’s head with a baseless idea that her husband is involved with a ‘Gori Larki’ (They referred to her as the firaaq wali larki). Sarwat’s character never failed to add fuel to the fire which further increased Ruqaiya’s doubt on her husband. Well in the end, it just turned out be just the fantasy of both of their minds!
The best part of the play was the two bickering woman hurling acrimonious remarks at each other which were delivered in situations that were filled with humor and this made the audiences laugh! Ruqaiya’s character hailed from a slightly better off family while Rashida’s character was less well off and the love hate relationship between them was portrayed perfectly! The chemistry between Sanam and Sarwat was apparent as they also happen to be good friends in real life and this was reflected in their performances. The whole backdrop added more charm to the play and all the props were used perfectly. The highlight of the play was the mind blowing performances by both the main characters. Their expressions, dialogue delivery and comic timing was just spot on! The credit for this brilliant play also goes to its very talented director Umar Sultan whose direction gave life to this play. The writer also did full justice to the play as it has turned out to be a masterpiece.
Furthermore, there were two more characters who added more charm to the play. Rashida’s mother (played by Sundus Tariq) and Fayaz Chacha (played by Kamal Hussain) both gave their best. Fayaz Chacha’s character as an aging womanizer was a welcome treat and provided the audiences with a good dose of laughter and his performance was appreciated. Sanam Saeed and Sarwat Gillani’s exquisite dance moves on old songs also gave a fair share of entertainment to the audiences. The whole team of this play deserves a huge round of applause for their absolutely outstanding performances!
What is your opinion about this play? What will you rate it out of 5?
I found myself counting days when I saw the promos of Behadd, it seemed like a brand new story with a stellar cast. I was waiting for Umera Ahmed to come up with something new, Fawad Khan with his new look and a character that seemed different from what he usually does, Nadia Jamil’s sheer presence on-screen coupled with Adnan Siddiqui’s guaranteed brilliant acting and of course Sajjal Ali; these were few of the reasons because of which I had very high expectations from this telefilm. Honestly speaking I felt that the cast and the script was picture perfect even before watching the telefilm but sometimes when you have such high hopes from something it is very likely that you get disappointed if the product is not as good as promised! Well, I can say with all certainty that this was not the case with Behadd. Asim Raza’s direction was absolutely flawless, Umera Ahmed’s script left nothing to be desired for and the acting by all the actors was top notch – it proved to be a thoroughly entertaining telefilm with all the right ingredients in the right proportions. The sizzling on-screen chemistry amongst all the characters, big or small made Behadd a delight to watch. The entire cast was very well chosen, it was great to see Shamoon Abbasi and Nosheen (Poppy) making their presence felt in their respective roles although they were not the central characters in the story.
Yes, most certainly, excess of everything is bad! Even too much love sometimes can ruin relationships because it can sow seeds of jealousy and possessiveness. Behadd is the story of a single mother Masooma (Nadial Jamil), who does everything in her power and more to give her daughter all the love and care in the world. Masooma and Hassan (Adnan Siddiqui) have a perfect life until Hassan dies in a car accident leaving Masooma and their daughter Maha (Sajjal Ali) behind. Masooma’s motherly instinct to protect and love her daughter completely overpowers everything else in her life. Maha won’t allow her mother to be happy; she only wants her mother all to herself. The message of the telefilm was brought forward in such an apt manner that there was absolutely no confusion. I couldn’t help but question myself as a mother as well and learned that sometimes too much love or the need to protect your child can seriously backfire. Raising children is the hardest job in the world and no mother who has put in her best effort to raise her child should question herself even once but then it is easier said than done! Also, children should know that parents deserve to be happy too, they also need love. It also showed that how easy it is for the children to exploit their parents’ love for them if they want to do so. All through the telefilm I couldn’t help but ask myself different questions like “Is Maha really sensitive or very controlling?” “Do single mothers have a right to have a life of their own – is it okay for them to get married?”
Maha cannot bear to see her mother having a good time with anyone, not even with her best friend Shafaq (Nadia Afghan). Shafaq wants Masooma to stop treating Maha like a toddler and wants her to go on with her life; get married and find herself some happiness.Nadia Afghan proved yet again that she is a very gifted actress, she has to be another person who is always a joy to watch. I have seen quite a few single mothers like Masooma in my life; their biggest predicament is that “They have a fifteen or so year old daughter!” Jamal Ahmed (Fawad Khan) , an old friend and neighbor enters Masooma’s life like fresh breeze, I felt truly happy for her and thought this was exactly what she deserved. The proposal scene was extremely well done. The relationship between Joe and Moe was another beautiful aspect of this telefilm, even with the age difference and everything else; they did seem like a match made in heaven. The twist in the end completely took me by surprise.
Behadd was beautifully directed, the locations were very pleasant to watch, the picture quality and the vibrant colors lit up the television screen. I must thank the entire team of Behadd for a job very well done. All the actors did a fantastic job and I can’t praise the director enough. The OST has also been sung very beautifully, the voice quality was perfect all through the telefilm and the OST for a change was not “abused” and wasn’t overpowering at any time, in fact it was played only a couple of times all through the telefilm. A huge thanks to Hum TV and Momina Duraid for the wonderful effort. Those of you who missed Behadd must watch it.
Famale Sufi singer Sanam Marvi, who is known for her exceptional skills in the Sufi style singing after the couple of Coke Studio Sessions, will now be taking a new turn in her singing career by giving an item song to an upcoming Lollywood Movie ‘Ishq Khuda’. This actress, coming all the way from interior Sindh has made her debut as a playback singer with a song ‘Sauf Supari wala paan’ for the movie which will release this Eid.
The movie, unlike other Lollywood movies, is said to be a good venture for the Lollywood industry. Been directed by Shehzad Rafique (Director of Mohabbata Sachiyaan), the movie has a significantly important music as revealed by the spokesman. According to the music director Wajahat Attray:
”All the soundtracks I have directed over the years have included a tint of classical music. I feel classical music is something which we just cannot ignore. Rafique puts a huge emphasis on his music, which has meant that no matter what type of film he is making the audience is receiving something fresh”
Apart from Sanam Marvi, the movie includes some powerful voices including Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Shazia Manzoor. The cast of the movie includes Ahsan Khan and Meera in lead roles and expected to generate a decent revenue once released.
While the Pakistani film industry is doing really good with movies like seedlings-Lamha, Chambaili and Bol, Lollywood industry still has got a lot of room for improvement.
We saw another engaging episode this week with lots of twists and turns. The twists were expected but dramatic at the same time. Faiza is using the oldest trick in the book that is taking revenge not by hate but through love and her so called mentor is none other than Umair. He is taking his own revenge through Faiza and Faiza is not even aware of it. She is just a pawn in his big scheme of taking revenge from Maryam.
Her first step was to bring Afshah back to her house to win Zayaan and his family’s heart. She was unsure of this idea given by Umair but she pondered over it and came to the conclusion that it would be the best decision under these circumstances. She went to Zayaan’s house and shocked everyone, she asked Afshah to pack her things and come back with her to her house. Khurram was ready to leave Afshah for her sister’s sake but Faiza made a dramatic entry and gave a very emotional speech about her ultimate sacrifice for her brother and Khurram got all emotional and accepted Afshah.
Faiza definitely succeeded in making a place in everyone’s heart through this act of hers and on top of that she surprised everyone by welcoming Maryam wholeheartedly to her house. Everybody seemed shocked and confused by her behavior but Faiza only seemed interested in Zayaan’s reaction. Even when she came to take Afshah back she was looking at Zayaan and trying to judge his reaction. Maryam and Zayaan’s opinion about Faiza changed after this and Maryam went so far as to ask Zayaan why he left a girl like Faiza. Maryam is too trusting for her own good and this will create a lot of problems for her in the future!
Nusrat attitude towards Maryam has not changed a bit and it just keeps on getting worse day by day. Ajji came to Maryam’s house to make sure Maryam was happy in her house and Maryam was trying to make her believe that she is happy but just then her mother in law came and insulted Ajji very badly. Maryam’s lies were exposed and she could not even face Ajji. Ajji went back and lied to Maryam’s family that she looked happy in her house but Sultan could see that something was fishy as Ajji stopped him from visiting Maryam’s house by coming up with an excuse.
Maryam still did not give up and made food for everyone but Nusrat refused to eat it and again hurled brutal and painful words at Maryam. She also did not let her take care of Afshah and insulted her again. After all these failed attempts to make a place in everyone’s heart, she gave up and Zayaan saw a defeated Maryam crying and all he could ask Maryam was to be patient. I believe to some extent Nusrat’s attitude is also justified. She blames Maryam for stealing her son from her and breaking her daughter’s house. I personally believe the cause of all these problems is Zayaan himself. He should have thought about his sister before taking such a big step and now there was no use of regretting his decision. Maryam got upset when he saw how helpless he was feeling and even gave him permission to marry Faiza. Maryam really needs to control her emotions and stop being so naïve!
Faiza will now take her next step towards her revenge with Umair’s help. I am curious to know what it will be! She has already managed to soften Zayaan attitude towards her and now she will come up some new plan to separate Maryam and Zayaan.
This episode focused on the dilemmas of arranged marriages in our society. I found the scene in which the rishta people want a “tour” of the girl’s house very relatable – sadly I must say that been there done that! When parents are getting their first girl or even boy married, they are absolutely clueless as to how to deal with such situations and end up saying yes to every foolish farmaish that comes their way! Some, who are in a position to do so, learn to tell such people off in a polite manner, those who do not have a choice sadly have to put up with such requests and much more! It is not just the boys’ family who wants to take a good look into the house of the girl they might be marrying their son to but I have even seen girls’ families desperately wanting to see the boy’s house even after their daughter has been married into the family. These are such wrong customs and they need to be shunned. Everything that we saw in today’s episode had surely been inspired from real life incidents and indeed was very relatable, like all other Umera Ahmed scripts. But the real question is that was it engaging enough? Sadly, I have to say that it wasn’t. The pace of the show is certainly slow and I have a feeling that this is the way it is going to be. All the plays that Aabiz raza has directed till now; Zard Mausam, Mujhe Roothne Na Dena and Maseeha, to name a few which I followed have been slow paced. Umera Ahmed’s plays as well have been stretched unnecessarily since Shehr-e-Zaat.
Faiqa’s sister also faced a dilemma when it came to marrying her son with her sister’s daughter Arzoo. Sikandar is not the least bit interested in marriage or getting married to Arzoo for that matter. He wants to know Arzoo better before he makes a final decision and his mother doesn’t want no for an answer. Fahad Mustafa’s character seemed cold and distant. I expected the bond between or more like the chemistry between the mother and son to be more appealing and apparent but it wasn’t. Fahad Mustafa is definitely one of those male actors who need to wear less make up.
Kamal’s sister seems to be facing problems as well as far as her daughter’s (Uroosa Siddiqui) marriage is concerned. She is stuck with a long enagement with no hope in sight. She doesn’t have the guts to ask the boy’s family what they want since she has been given a cold response once before too and cannot afford to break the engagemtn off too. Most certainly, all that we saw today was ghar ghar ki kahani. I am sure many many people could relate to it but will this ghar ghar ki kahani click with the audience in this day and age when there are a few other more intriguing and interesting dramas on air which keep you on the edge of the seat?
Kiran’s character is definitely the most likeable part of the play for me till now. She has a carefree attitude and I love her confidence. In the next episode, we may see Kiran and Sikandar meet for the first time since we saw Kiran begging Arzoo that she wanted to meet Sikandar. Kiran and Sikanadar seem poles apart already; Kiran is fun and carefree and Sikandar seems like a very toffee-nosed individual. Kiran and Arzoo are very close to one another and we saw Arzoo going against her mother’s will and giving Kiran the photographs of the engagement. The relationship between the three sisters is also another extremely relatable part of the show, which has been shown nicely. It is so good to see sisters who get along for a change and have a “normal relationship – no good sister versus bad one scenario.
Overall, this episode was strictly okay. I agree with and could relate to every single happening in the play but I think the viewers will have to get used to the slow pace of the drama and accept it for what it is if they want to enjoy it. Expecting fireworks is just going to disappoint the viewers. Please share your opinions about this latest episode.
It leaves me with a thought always when I think about the upcoming Bollywood Movie ‘Creature’, starring Imran Khan and Bipasha Basu in lead roles. While half of the country seems to enjoy the fact that a Pakistani Artist has actually gotten a measure role against a popular actress, there are people like me who are thinking with a broader perspective. It might be an assuming fact that Imran Abbas has really got one of the biggest breaks when it comes to comparing it with other Pakistani celebrities working in India, the question still lies that how come Bipasha Basu got ready for a movie which is likely to make any success. The only charm that the movie by now has offered to the audience is the 3D tag attached to it and a little bit of excitement of watching this couple on screen. I have been taking feedbacks from our readers on our social media page and people are acknowledging the reality that Bipasha seems much older than Imran Abbas.
The theme of the movie revolves around the ideas that were once shown in the movie ‘Jurassic park’, where the dinosaurs will now be replaced by an unusual ‘creature’.
Here are a few random clicks taken on the set of ‘Creature’, Have a look!
This surely is an achievement for Imran Abbas to get his hands on an Indian movie and working with an actress such as Bipasha Basu, but again, the career of Bipasha now shows a big question mark!
Ayesha Omer’s most memorable role till now has to be Khubsurat from Bulbulay. She started her television career by hosting a show “Mere Bachpan ke Din” when she was very young. She worked as a VJ on MTV and Indus TV. Ayesha started her acting career from the sitcom “College Jeans”. Since then she has worked in many dramas. Ayesha Omer always wanted to be involved in performing arts. She is not just a host and an actor but also a singer and a model. Ayesha’s family is based in Lahore but in order to meet the requirements of her field, she has to live in Karachi. Ayesha Omer did her graduation from National College of Arts, Lahore and even when she was studying she was very much involved in performing arts, something behind the stage and at other times on the stage.
Ayesha feels that the fashion industry does not allow youngsters to come forward because there is a lot of lobbying and grouping. Probably due to this reason Ayesha Omer is not seen on the ramp very often now but prefers working on television and is now working towards building her singer career. Painting and singing is Ayesha Omer’s real passion. If given a choice she would much rather paint and sing than act, model or host.
Ayesha Omer comes across as a very down-to-earth person but one with a very strong personality. When asked during an interview how she felt about the success of her character and the fame it won for her in Bulbulay, she replied that it was teamwork and it would be wrong if she took the credit for it. Acting comes naturally to Ayesha, she is comfortable with comic and serious characters both. Some people criticize Ayesha Omer for being confused because she cannot decide which field she wants to excel in. Ayesha Omer says that she likes to experiment with new things, she follows her heart and life is too short to not follow one’s heart’s desire. Therefore she believes in doing everything she wants to do. Ayesha also hosted a cooking show; so she has basically done everything that any other actress who has been in showbiz for a very long time has done.
Ayesha Omer has also designed clothes. Anoushey and Ayesha designed clothes for the clothing brand “Labels” which were liked by youngsters and were sold off very quickly. Ayesha would like to do more designing because she liked the response her designs got. Ayesha Omer’s mother has been a big inspiration in her life. She believes that she couldn’t have made it this far if it wasn’t for her mother. Ayesha was also offered to work in Indian dramas but she declined this offer because she likes the appreciation Pakistani people have given her and would not let them down. She also doesn’t feel the need to work in Indian dramas. Ayesha Omer is definitely a jack of all trades, we wish her the very best.
There is good news for all the ‘Khuda Aur Muhabbat’ fans out there as Imran Abbas Naqvi and Sadia Khan will be seen again together on screen. The couple gained immense popularity through this hit show and their chemistry was the talk of the town. This time they will be seen together in a movie instead of a drama serial. ‘Abdullah’ is an upcoming Pakistani movie which is based on the incidents that happened in Quetta on 17th May, 2011. The rest of the cast includes names like Sajid Hassan, Hamid Sheikh And others. The movie is written, directed and produced by Hashim Nadeem. Hashim Nadeem is a popular writer who is also the writer of the show ‘Khuda Aur Muhabbat’ and this movie is also based on a novel written by him.
It is good to the see the initiative taken by people to revive the Pakistani film Industry. After Shoaib Mansoor, many producer and directors have followed his lead and invested in movies. We already saw brilliant movies like ‘Chambaili’ and ‘Ishq Khuda’ this year and the brilliant Tarang Telefilms which were a breath of fresh air for us viewers. The upcoming movie ‘Main Hoon Shahid Afridi’ is one of the most hyped movies nowadays and ‘Abdullah’ is another addition to the list of movies that are worth looking forward to.
“Truth exists in the world just as flowers do in desert” The story of a truth untold!
This is the tagline of this movie and it seems pretty intriguing!
