Maria B Shares Charges Of International Models Vs. Pakistani Models

Lately, Maria B made an appearance in Hafiz Ahmed’s podcast which he conducted in Maria B’s house. In the podcast, Maria B shared interesting details about the charges of local and international models.

Maria B Shares Charges Of International Models Vs. Pakistani Models

Talking about it, Maria B said, “Internationally models work in less or affordable charges. Local models are very expensive because this field is tough for Pakistani models. There are a very few girls in the field of modelling because parents usually don’t allow their daughters to join the fashion industry, which I do understand why. I know, apart from a few good photographers, this field is not good. So! because of limited choices they charge a lot. Some beautiful and internationally known Pakistani models also charge a hefty amount. Whereas, if we see international models, they charge per day, we can give them hundred dresses to wear in a day, they charge around five hundred dollars per day, which isn’t a big amount. Pakistani models charge more”. Here is the link to the video:

Maria B has worked with many international models including Turkish stars Didem Balcin and Gulsim Ali.

For example, I would love it on my teenage daughter every day, but I wouldn’t prefer wearing it all the time because I am over 45. Also, it suits girls who are tall and slim rather than those with a shorter or normal height and a curvier body.”

She has once again explained it in detail for public in a recent interview with Ahmed Ali Butt in Super Over, Maria B said, “There is an important issue which needs to be discussed, in Pakistan, we have an intersex community, which is known as khwajasara community, recently, an act for intersex community was passed which was hijacked by the people who pretend to be interesex but they are not, when we read that transgender act we realized that the bill is not at all about the intersex community but it’s promoting some other agenda, the intersex act was hijacked basically, now we are working with Jamat E Islamic Senator Mr Mushtaq, we are working for giving the rights to the intersex community who needs to be given rights on priority basis ,(trans community will be seen later on), let me tell you who transgenders are, transgenders are once normal girls and boys who thought that they had opposite gender’s traits and they declared them of that gender, they were born normal”. Maria B. is a very famous clothing brand for girls. People love to choose her dresses for formal and semi-formal functions. Recently, Maria and her husband Tahir got into a controversy.

Maria And Her Husband Explaining The Whole Incident

Tahir got arrested in the middle of the night. There was an FIR on him for spreading coronavirus. Maria made a video on social media and appealed to the Prime Minister to release her husband. The police arrested him without giving any genuine reason.

Maria And Her Husband Explaining The Whole Incident

Well, finally her husband got released from the police station. Maria and her husband made an Instagram video to share the whole story with their viewers. Their cook, Omar Farooq, had some symptoms like fever and cough. He had a coronavirus test which came out Positive. So, Maria and her husband asked him to stay in quarantine in the servant quarter.

Maria And Her Husband Explaining The Whole Incident

Omar Farooq was fine the next day and asked permission to go back to his village to stay in isolation. Maria and her husband thought it was a good idea and with mutual understanding allowed him to go. He went back to his village with his brother in a private car.

Maria And Her Husband Explaining The Whole Incident

After some time, Maria got a call from the hospital and they asked her about Omar Farooq. She told them that he went back to his village. After that, they got more than ten calls from different organizations and asked about their cook. They gave his number to all the formal officers.

Maria And Her Husband Explaining The Whole Incident

Police thought that they sent the coronavirus-positive cook back to his village to protect themselves and infect others, and arrested his husband. In fact, Tahir and Maria’s brother had a coronavirus test and it’s negative. They even shared the test report in the video.

After the whole circumstance, Omar Farooq had another coronavirus test and it’s negative now. As he had a positive test report, therefore, he will stay in quarantine for some days. Maria and Tahir said that they are not guilty!

People criticized them a lot. They believe that they should have sent him to the hospital instead of sending him back to his village. He could have infected hundreds of people on his way.  Being a responsible citizen of Pakistan, it’s our duty to protect ourselves and others for coronavirus patients.

I think if the drama industry is still alive in Pakistan, it is just because of dramas like Marasim. This shows that thought provoking writers are still writing some great handy stuff but what actually pisses me off is that why these shows never get ratings and viewership? Why these shows are telecast on least watched Channels? Anyways keeping aside my disappointment, let’s start with the message of drama Marasim.

First of all I would like to thank Writer Zanjabeel Asim Shah for providing such a great story to us. Believe me I could hardly see any writer now writing the story which defines the harsh realities of life. Seems like our writers are out of stories and now all they got to write is about oppressing women and love triangles. Marasim gives a brilliant message to society that we should learn to forgive and forget others wrong doings and that’s what Islam teaches us. Life is indeed very short to fight with each other and hate each other. Life is a beautiful gift from ALLAH and we should spend it by doing good deeds like taking care of your family, relatives and friends and helping others. Marasim gives out a clear message that hate and ego which grows inside us not only destroys our own life but infect others and leaves many marks on others life. Gitiara hatred towards her sister in law and family had badly infected Nayab’s and Daood’s life. There is a saying that don’t hurt others because one may forgive you but never forgets.

Another message that Marasim gives out, your destiny is written by ALLAH and never regret what you didn’t get because there is a saying in URDU “HAR CHEEZ MEIN ALLAH KI MASLEHAT HI HOTI HAI”. Poor Nayab she went through many difficulties of life, first her mother passed away then she received worst treatment from her brother in law, then her cousin died who was her only hope and finally daood also left her but in the end ALLAH rewarded her with daood’s business and property and after daood’s death her mother in law also realises that she had failed to provide happiness to his own son.

The strong message of Marasim was that every soul has to depart one day and we should always remember that we have to die one day. This world is finite and the actual life starts hereafter, so never consider anyone below you. Every human being is born equal and die equal so why do we have so many standards and complex society norms? I simply adore one dialogue of this drama “Bas sirf aik rassi khechne ki dair hoti hai saari shaan-o-shaukat thikaane lag jaati hai”. The lavishness of life is nothing but illusion and we could live a better life if we wipe out illusion from our eyes. No wonder this drama was an eye opener and will remind you about the harsh reality of life and that is death.

BRAVO TO DIRECTOR
Marasim is just not only a good play from its strong and powerful storyline but the direction had taken this drama to another level. Each every scene is so well directed that your eyes remain glued to the screen. Owais Khan is definitely a talented director. I can also link his one quality with director of “Ranjish Hi Sahi” Nadeem Siddique and that is the use of colourful extensive wardrobe and use of different bright colours in background. Directors should consider to use range of colours because it gives a visual treat to viewers. The lovely colour combinations allure screen and helps a lot in catching viewers’ attention.
Other credit we can give to director is that he had not dragged the drama at all in fact viewers were commenting why this is ending so early. Similarly to Aunn Zara this drama got finished in 19 episodes.

CREDIT TO THE WHOLE CAST
Whole cast deserves real applauses specially Ahsan Khan, Urwa tul Wusqa and Sonya Hussain. I have to agree with Zahra that I have never seen Ahsan Khan before in such a good role although he is labelled as “nakaam aashiq” but he was splendid in this drama. I hate Hocane sisters for their over-acting but after watching marasim I came to know that Urwa got such brilliant acting skills. Actually it all depends upon director they knew how to get best out of best from actors for example Haissam Hussain he exactly knew the potential of each and every actor/actress. Soniya Hussain is a new talent of our Industry and she can easily rule the Industry, just one good project on her Lap and she will become a star. Salman Saeed (the guy who played Zaid’s character) was also brilliant. Naila Jaffery and Saba Hameed are veteran actresses.

In the end I just want to give gratitude to the production house of Humayun Saeed and A-PLUS Channel. I am realizing that A-PLUS is becoming a good channel as it is providing with some quality stuff now, first it was Aunn Zara in 2013, then Marasim, now Pehchan I wonder how many good dramas I have missed on A-PLUS. I mean if we compare, this channel is better in this quarter and if they continue to provide us with quality stuff then people may switch to A-PLUS. So I have some great expectations now with this Channel, hopefully they will continue to provide quality stuff in future.

So have you watched this drama? If yes then please give your views as well, if not then it is strongly recommended to watch this drama.

Marasim – Last Episode!

0

Hmmm, I usually tend to procrastinate watching the last episodes of my favorite dramas because to be honest, I find it very hard to come to terms with the fact that a certain journey is coming to an end. Similarly, this time around, I didn’t feel like watching Marasim’s last episode but just because I knew so many readers would be waiting to share their thoughts, I gave it a go. I really hate sad endings & this is why I feel gutted to see the ending of Marasim. I know they’ve kept things real & didn’t bring in those unrealistic twists but deep down, even though this realistic ending seems justified, there’s a voice in my head that says I would’ve loved seeing Daood leading a happy life with his family. But I still believe that an imperfect ending is what has made Marasim a memorable work of art, a masterpiece & for that I am glad I tuned into this play.

This episode was all about Daood, the climax of his journey & his life, therefore he wanted to take those last few steps in order to bind his family together. There wasn’t much that happened in this episode as being a last one, it ended slowly but it was packed with some powerful dialogues that were absolutely touching.

Daood knew he had taken care of Nayab & thankfully for him, he got such an understanding partner, that just when he walked away from her, he knew he had done everything that has made her contented & that is why, he didn’t feel burdened in regards to Nayab as they both parted on a positive note, where neither Nayab nor Daood had an ounce of regret left. At least in this scenario Nayab can breathe & take a sigh of relief knowing that she didn’t for once let her husband down & he was relieved when it came to her.

When Nayab was taken care of, he knew it was Gaitiara who he had to work upon. Sadly, Gaitiara didn’t know what she was going to lose, but then it taught us that life is too small to hold grudges & we really don’t know what the other person is going through. If Gaitiara had known Daood’s suffering, she; as a mother would’ve treated him differently.

I think the last scene of Daood & Gaitiara was done with a perfect intention that just because Daood wasn’t satisfied with the way he parted with Gaitiara, he got a final chance once again to share a few words with her, which obviously changed her as a person, changed her perspective & changed her outlook on life. If Gaitiara would’ve gotten to know about Daood’s death over a phone-call, she would’ve never changed & rather had only blamed Nayab for snatching her only son away from her but just because Gaitara herself got to speak to Daood, she herself saw him losing his life to a fatal disease, that window of blame shut down completely which later might’ve haunted Nayab. Daood made sure to make Gaitiara understand what her happiness meant to him, that is why he remained persistent that he wanted to see her as a bighearted person who had no grudges against those who have passed away, he wanted to see her as someone who wasn’t blinded by the hatred she might’ve once felt for the people around her & also he made sure to mention his wishfulness of seeing her treating his family as hers, his wife as her daughter & his son as a part of her son; Daood.

The ending was heavy & as much as I am sad for Nayab for not meeting a happy ending, at least she moved on with a support of her mother in law & they both picked up the pieces to lead a peaceful life with Unaid as a center of their universe. But yes, to see our favourite character; Daood, suffering & dying within was depressing.

Hmmm, I must say Marasim was one-of-a-kind journey, it was a complete story that gave us a lot of beautiful moments. I thank the writer, the producer & the director for giving us a masterpiece like Marasim. I must confess, I was never ever convinced with Ahsan Khan, Sonia Hussain & Urwa Hocane’s acting but Marasim has changed my perspective. I really wish all these actors opt for such brilliant scripts & get to work with such directors who elevate such scripts to another level. I must say Naila Jafri & Saba Hameed played their parts really well & added such reality to their characters which is commendable. I am glad I watched Marasim & enjoyed every bit of it. Marasim – Episode 2!

Ohkay so this was another episode of Marasim. Even though they have been showing a lot of flashbacks from the past but still the story is moving forward. I am not disappointed by the direction & feel things are moving on normally. Definitely, I am not going gaga over this drama but it ain’t that bad either.

As expected, the news of Abdullah’s wedding reached Gaitiara & Deeba. Deeba was shattered because she was forced to fall in love with her cousin as they were supposedly engaged. Daood assured his sister of finding her a better partner but she chose to refuse his offer & not only that but now she has started to have an issue with Momenah too. This is definitely a story of vindictive people who have been involved in years family politics & hatred.

Even though a lot of years have passed but Gaitiara hasn’t found a closure till now. She keeps on reminding herself of all the hardships she had to endure because of her late MIL & also that her SIL Sherbano had an important role to play in snatching away Gaitiara’s peace. Even though it was Daadi’s decision to get the grandchildren married & despite all the hatred that had harboured in between them over the years, no one dared to break off the engagement because the cousins already had inclined towards each other emotionally. Momenah’s only saving grace was the relation of Abdullah with Deeba & vice versa but now when Abdullah has walked out of the commitment, Gaitiara has found a concrete reason to call of Daood’s engagement too.

Momenah thought it was her duty to assure her MIL-to-be about how she keeps them all closer to her heart & therefore she didn’t feel ashamed in literally begging them to make her a part of their family by forgetting what Abdullah has done to Deeba. Momenah may love Daood wholeheartedly but she really doesn’t know that Deeba will treat her like her mother Sherbano treated Gaitiara & Gaitiara will treat her the way her MIL used to treat her plus definitely Momenah’d have to pay the price for all the ill-treatment Sherbano put Gaitiara up with.

Times have changed & just now when Sherbano knows her own daughter’s happiness is at stake, she feels remorseful & ashamed because of her behavior with Gaitiara & clearly she can foresee what Momenah would have to endure because Gaitiara has lost all the respect for her in-laws. Sherbano thought that Gaitiara might’ve forgotten all the insulting she ever got from her but she was shocked to hear her confession of how much she has hated them all these years. This was definitely an eyeopening detail for Sherbano because she never must’ve thought that ever in her lifetime Gaitiara would come to a position where Sherbano won’t be able to look into her eyes with the same pride she once had in the early years of their lives.

Gaitiara dreaded seeing her son getting away from her as Daood was the only one who took a stand for his mother in front of his father & grandmother but now when she saw that Daood found out about Abdullah’s wedding & planned his own with Momenah so as to protect his engagement from breaking, Gaitiara can’t tolerate her only son being snatched away by those people whom she has hated all her life. For now, she has officially called off their engagement & seems like Daood will resist & try to undo his mother’s decision. Let’s see what happens next.

Marasim – Episode 18!

Seriously! What a brilliant episode once again. I just can’t get over with the fact that how beautifully the director has tackled this drama. Every single episode seems like a fine work of art put together with utmost attention, detail & love. I never thought that in recent times I’d ever get to see a drama which will make me emotionally attached to the characters but Marasim has done this for me & for this reason, I stayed teary throughout the episode because it was that beautiful & all the emotions were laid beautifully in front of us as well.

This episode was all about mending the broken ties. It was all about boosting Nayab’s self-esteem & confidence. It was all about Daood’s suffering but his decisions that he feels needs to be taken before he leaves. It was all about knowing that he has a limited time, so he must do everything possible to bring happiness in his home.

Gaitiara earned her fair share of sympathy in the beginning but now she is coming across as nothing more than a despicable woman who has always wanted her only son to keep on sacrificing his love, his happiness for the sake of his mother. She has become so mean that now she wants to deprive her son of some small things as well that would make him happy. All Gaitiara could do was to make him feel guilty about how he has fallen short of all the responsibilities he had towards his mother & his sister & when she saw Daood has started taking care of his wife, she couldn’t tolerate it.

Isn’t it relieving to see that those who plan against you end up facing the consequences? Gaitiara thought that the last card she could use to turn Daood against Nayab was of Zaid but little did she know that Daood is at such a stage in his life where he has become so selfless that nothing related to him or his feelings matter to him anymore. All he wants is to give Nayab her fair share of happiness that she couldn’t get while being married to him. The conversation followed by the confession Daood had with Nayab showed that he loves her to such a point where he wants nothing for himself but feels he needs to do everything for his wife. Zaid & Nayab’s long-lost relation couldn’t shake him which Gaitiara thought it would. I also feel that Daood shouldn’t feel so guilty for parting Zaid & Nayab because he just didn’t have any idea about it. All those flashbacks that gave him a reality check were done to perfection where he realized his mistakes. I am glad that Daood didn’t have any idea about Zaid before because he got to know about him at such a point in his life where it can’t harm Nayab, but once again, I feel Daood shouldn’t feel so devastated about it & the one who should be ashamed & feel guilty is the one who’s responsible for all this; Gaitiara.

Even though at first I felt that Daood was deceiving Nayab once again by keeping his illness a secret but the explanation he gave to the lawyer told that his planning has been spot on. He doesn’t want any hindrances in this journey that Nayab has to make after he’ll leave & for that he wants her to gather all the confidence to walk alone. As much as I wanted him reveal his illness, I feel he has made the right decision & slowly & steadily he has started to work on his family, because he knows that after he’ll be gone, Gaitiara & Nayab; both would have to survive without him while being dependent on each other.

Even though I feel that Abdullah & Deeba have been out of the picture for quite some while now but I do believe that this episode was complete in every way because right now Deeba doesn’t belong to this family & in Daood’s perspective, it’s only Gaitiara & Nayab who need to have a good bonding because only he knows about the torment that his death will bring to these women. Next episode’s preview once again showed that Gaitiara hasn’t come to terms with what’s being demanded from her & Daood is still trying to blow some sense into this senseless woman. As much as I am happy that Nayab is getting all the love from Daood, it still doesn’t let us forget that the time’s slipping away. Share your thoughts on this beautiful episode.

Marasim – Episode 17!

Even though this episode had some amazing acting but it was kind of predictable. We all know where the story was headed to but to see it all happening to Nayab wasn’t appeasing at all.

I did feel a lot for Daood actually & it was emotional to see such a nice person like him suffering like that but still he knows he can’t undo anything. He can not return to where he began his life with Nayab, he knows whatever he did has back-lashed at him & for that no matter how sorry or apologetic he is, his fate has been sealed & the decision has been made.

All those confessions uttered by him that subliminally referred to his death were heart-wrecking. Deep within, he knows he has a very limited time left with his family & for that he is trying to make the most of it. He now knows that no matter how much he loved Momenah & how much he had wanted her, she wasn’t the right choice & they both weren’t meant to be. Daood has clearly declared it in front of his mother that Momenah left him in the lurch because she couldn’t deal with the burden of leaving her husband. Obviously, Daood still tried to be kind enough in regards to Momenah but he knows what actually has made her disappear from his life for good.

Even though it was good to see Nayab getting all the comforts in the presence of Daood once again, it was good to see her content & happy at her husband’s return but then it makes Daood look like a villain & a selfish person who walked away from his wife when he got his hands on the love of his life but now when he has no other option left, he’s back with a huge secret & is keeping Nayab in the dark by not revealing the real motive of his return.

If Daood actually cared for his wife & mother, he would’ve openly told them the reason of why he has shifted back. I think this is worst then leaving Nayab before. Right now Nayab must be thinking she got her husband back who is ready to start afresh but it’s sad to see that she is oblivious of the actual reason. Another thing that bothers me is the way Nayab now comes across as such a weakling who was ready to accept her husband even after how he wronged her & literally ditched her. Nayab should’ve fought with him & threw some tantrum of not accepting him back but seems like she was fine with the way Daood walked out on their marriage. It now makes me feel that we were being worried for Nayab for no good reason because seems like she herself isn’t bothered much about what her life has to offer. She seems pretty numb after Zaid’s death so I feel we shouldn’t feel too bad for her.

Another powerful conversation that we got to see was between Daood & Gaitiara where tried to make her understand how she was becoming like her mother in law & how he dreaded seeing Nayab becoming the next Gaitiara. He knows that he has a very little time left to make Gaitiara understand that she shouldn’t unnecessarily hold a grudge against Nayab because in any case, she’s innocent. The way Daood explained it to Gaitiara that he feels burdened for how he has hurt an innocent person like Nayab was quite overwhelming.

Ah! It was a pretty heavy episode emotionally & I must say I have never liked Ahsan Khan better in any other role than the one he has portrayed in this drama. He has been flawless as Daood & the director has put in an extra effort in bringing out the emotions best way possible. No complains but only praises for this drama serial. Marasim – Episode 16!

I can’t praise the writer enough for giving us such a strong script with such perfect characters. Just when I thought that the drama would become predictable & the viewers anticipated Daood’s accident, something totally unexpected happened & now Daood is counting the last days of his life. I don’t think any drama in the current lot comes at par to the brilliance of Marasim. I thank the team of Marasim for giving us such a perfect drama.

I know, after all that Daood has done to Nayab, he doesn’t deserve the sympathy but I couldn’t help feeling bad for him. He was someone who kept on sacrificing everything that he loved for the sake of his family. So, now when his family is happy & settled, he asked for a little happiness for himself but sadly, seems like he has a huge price to pay. Even though he was honest to Nayab about everything right from the beginning & could never give her a place in his heart except for a soft corner but still after all that he did recently doesn’t make him a bad person. Daood was a good bloke but just because he saw people walking over him, he lost control & wanted to turn things his way but little did he know that the fate had something else in store for him.

Even though whatever happened, both Daood & Momenah are to be blamed equally but I still feel Momenah has an upper hand in all the bad things that happened in Daood’s life. She walked away from his life just because she considered her mother a priority back then. She moved on quickly & got engaged to Fahad closing all the possible doors of returning to Daood but just when Daood after a long span of depression tried moving on, she indulged him in a guilt. Later when Daood was living a somewhat peaceful life with his wife after he had come to terms with the fact for how his life shaped up, Momenah came into the picture; unhappy with her married life, with her subliminal hints to Daood for reconciliation & just because she actually wanted to be with Daood, she challenged him to leave Nayab so that she could consider getting married to him. Seems like Momenah treated Daood as a stooge & loved seeing him following her instructions. It’s like Momenah felt that she had control over Daood’s life but that definitely is not the case & for that I totally blame Momenah for being such a bad influence in Daood’s life.

Fahad’s return was again an unexpected turn in the story. Fahad came when Momenah was at a brink of leaving him for good, even though she had planned it but just because Sherbano didn’t want it to happen, Momenah; no matter how much she resisted, started having second thoughts about her decisions after her mother showed her a dark face of the reality she’ll have to deal with after Daood’s death. While watching Fahad saying all those things to Momenah, I felt nothing for her because to be honest, she deserved it. She called it on her, herself. Fahad has all the rights to give her a reality check in whatever tone he wants to because once again he proved himself to be a loyal partner. Just because he loves Momenah, he is ready to forgive her for the pain she has caused to him. Fahad’s character made me think how easy it is to show strong men with some spine in the dramas because lately, we haven’t met any such male characters. After Daood, Fahad also turned out to be a strong character with some insight & rationality & I applaud the writer for that.

The episode revolved around Daood’s new found illness & Momenah but I wish they had actually shown a bit of Nayab, Gaitiara & Deeba as well, just to show what was happening in their lives. Even though it does seem justified that whatever happened to Daood was more like a karma’s spin on him but it’s still sad to see him suffering so badly. Can’t wait to see how Nayab reacts to Daood’s illness & would she be able to forgive him? How Gaitiara would react & would she be apologetic towards Nayab for the way she treated her? Can’t wait to find out.

Marasim – Episode 15!

Well, what can I say except that I am totally shocked at the recent turn of events in this drama. This drama already made it to everyone’s favourite list because of the story, execution & the characters but to see those characters, for whom we felt for, stooping so low is upsetting. I don’t know why but there’s still a glimmer of hope left within me that still makes me want to believe the otherwise. I am still hoping & to some extent sure that Daood & Momenah will not end up together & Nayab will find a happy ending.

To be honest, to listen to all such words like Islam, Gunnah, Mera Mazhab, Sharaee Haq, Islam Ki Ijazat; made me cringe so bad. I mean Daood & Momenah should be the last people to use such words because they themselves have no idea about the intricacy & fragility of the concepts that are related to the institution of marriage. While listening to Momenah & Sherbano’s conversation & all those excuses that Momenah used to add some weight to her argument made me actually feel that they were treating Shadi as a game-play. The way Momenah revisited the history of broken marriages in her family was actually enough reason to let us know that for them, Shadi was more like a Gudda Guddi Ka Khel. Abdullah’s first Shadi, then Abdullah’s second Shadi, Nayab/Daood’s Shadi, Momenah/Fahad Shadi & now the potential Daood/Momenah Shadi. Ekh!

To be honest, I felt nothing but animosity towards Sherbano because if, in the beginning; she had kept her ego aside, then Daood & Momenah would’ve been happily married but anyways, bygones are bygones, so this time around I just felt that if Sherbano had focused more on the better upbringing of her kids rather than planning & plotting against Gaitiara, then I am sure the Karma wouldn’t have bitten her so bad.

Daood; I swear, Daood was the person who was becoming everyone’s favourite but to see him turning things upside down was quite frustrating. I think people could’ve given a thought of his & Momenah’s reconciliation a second chance if he had dealt with the whole situation using some appropriate words. I really didn’t think that wrecking people’s homes & playing with their feelings was such a casual conversation which could be supported with the usage of ‘yaar’. I just felt that he was joking all this while because Daood himself didn’t seem serious & focused. It’s like he was bored to death so he sighted the mood for some adventure. Just because Momenah was on a vacation trip from Australia, he decided to tag her along in this. For the sake of Momenah & Daood’s stupidity, I felt it was good that they were at least giving their long-dead relation a try because they should at least go through it once again to fill their tummies with everyone’s hatred, so that they can get back to their senses because it seems like Daood would try to woo Momenah every single time she’d come to Pakistan, so it’s better to deal with it once & for all.

Momenah’s excuse of parting ways with Fahad was once again unjustified because seems like she has problems with Fahad being a workaholic. Momenah stated that she wasn’t one of those wives who like to wait for their husbands, which made me say ‘Yeah Right! Why would you wait for your hard-working husband when you yourself had no sincerity to offer’. Does Momenah actually think that Daood won’t work after he’ll get married to her? Like what’s the guarantee that Momenah will still be loyal & sincere to Daood if he won’t be able to give her the time she’d demand? To actually see Momenah & Daood looking for a house while still being married was once again a huge disappointment. It’s like it couldn’t get worse that while still being married to Fahad, Momenah was already dreaming about her new spouse, new home & how Daood ignored Nayab & Unaid’s presence in his life while planning the interiors of his new house? Do they actually think that they’ll be able to live a guilt-free life? Do they really believe that they’ll find their happy ending by hurting every single person in their lives?

For the sake of how awesome this drama was, I still hope that they snap out of it & give us a decent ending where Daood & Momenah are definitely not together in the picture. I hope for once that Gaitiara thinks like a rational person where she doesn’t take it as an obligatory duty to belittle Nayab by actually reminding her of a liability that she has been to Daood & everyone else. Marasim – Episode 14!

Ohho, things have taken a worst turn possible for now. Don’t know why but I feel the characters have been flipped to fit the current situation which isn’t appeasing to see at all.

Just because Abdullah & Deeba got married, Daood now finds it hard to keep up with the responsibility/marriage he is associated with. Seeing Momenah around him has hit the nail in the coffin but Daood being himself is persistent that he can turn things in his favour because he has suffered a lot. I must say the character who was potentially becoming everyone’s favourite has now been ruined. The 180 degree flip of Daood’s character was the last thing anyone wanted to see because he is the same person who stood up for what was right & never once allowed anything wrong to happen to Nayab but seems like he got tired of compressing his feelings therefore he got irrational.

The way they’ve tried to show Momenah’s petty issues with Fahad isn’t convincing enough. It was obvious that she was unhappy emotionally but just because her husband refuses to speak to her in his office hours doesn’t mean she’s got the right to leave him & elope with her ex-fiancé. Lately, this non-issue is being addressed in the dramas a lot that the wives remain unhappy for the fact that their husbands are paying complete attention to their jobs. If only Momenah would’ve understood that her trip to Pakistan was sponsored by her workaholic husband, then she wouldn’t have even thought of giving Daood an edge at all because Fahad is working to keep his family afloat & give Momenah all the luxuries that she can think of, so, what’s wrong if he is focused on his career? One can’t have it all & Momenah should be honest that she is unhappy because Fahad is not Daood but she can’t say she’s unhappy because Fahad isn’t giving her the attention.

Even though Momenah resisted but then once again she failed in making Daood understand the intricacy of the situation. She saw that Daood was treating a marriage like a toddler’s game but Momenah on her own lost rationality & instead of speaking to him with finality; she gave him a ray of hope which could result in Nayab & Daood’s divorce. According to Momenah, she thought she would make a point by mentioning Daood’s kid but whatever she said was more like an advise instead of a warning, it was more like a challenge which she knew Daood would accomplish. It showed that to some extent she also wished that Daood would leave Nayab so that Momenah could settle down with him.

All of a sudden they’ve started to show that Nayab has feelings for Daood & she is trying to save her marriage but then once again, she never really made an effort before. If Daood never allowed her to win him over, she never herself tried in the first place too but just now she could sense Daood’s disinterest in her kid, she thought it would be better to give this marriage a little push but then she has been wrong in calculation & it’s too late now. Daood definitely is wrong as he never endeared Nayab but then it was a vice versa scenario all this while too.

At first I thought Gaitiara would understand Nayab & would stand by her but she took me by surprise by showing she was no less an evil herself because now when her evil daughter is settled & happy, she is allowing Daood to not only get married to Momenah but she was suggesting how it was possible. Gaitiara is obviously quite cunning because now when Deeba’s married, she can’t afford to lose Daood & just because she wants to control & hold onto her stooge (Daood) she has confessed of her insecurities, hah. One can’t expect compassion from Gaitiara but the transition of everyone else’s character is making things a bit indigestible. As always the acting & the direction was phenomenal & I am sure the drama isn’t just over yet & for that I am hopeful. Let’s see what happens.

Marasim – Episode 13!

One brilliant episode it was. I am glad at the pace with which the story is progressing & it looks like everyone here gets an equal screen time that they deserve. Everyone is entitled to the attention & no one has been ignored which makes all the episodes interesting. Even if it involves Gaitiara & her repeated taunts to Nayab, Nayab & her awkwardness when she is with Daood, Daood & his past that he is reminded of when he sees Momenah, each & everyone gets a chance to make an appearance to show what they are going through & makes every episode complete.

Abdullah is now persistent on getting married to Deeba. Deeba also being a patient of self-pity had all the cards with which she could convince her mother to agree to hers & Abdullah’s marriage & she used them brilliantly. Deeba is actually really very lucky & as much as I don’t want her to get the love of her life after what she did to Daood & Momenah & after how she is treating Nayab, I still feel in order to make things realistic, Deeba & Abdullah’s marriage is just the right twist in the story. Deeba is someone who makes everyone realize how lucky; conniving people are in this world. Deeba is someone who is responsible for Daood, Momenah & Nayab’s miseries & to some extent Zaid’s death as well but still she is easily getting away with everything just because Daood & Momenah have no other option as they chose to move on in their lives. Momenah felt that she should act reasonably as there’s no reason to cling on to the past mistakes of Deeba because one way or the other she holds herself & even Daood responsible for their breakup. Daood’s agony & frustration was totally justified but just because he had Momenah in front him, he had to surrender.

I still feel a lot for Nayab as she had to go through so much because Deeba transpired Daood’s marriage & Gaitiara laid eyes on Nayab as a suitable doormat-like wife for Daood. Even though she has Daood’s support & he has made sure that she isn’t bothered by anyone, she still has to face a thing or two because of Gaitiara. I thought they would actually show that Daood & Nayab grew closer to each other but sadly, they still are nothing, but just responsibility of each other & that’s all there’s to their relation. I think very comfortably but convincingly they’ve kept a window for Daood & Momenah’s reconciliation open which still seems very acceptable.

I loved the unsaid conversation Momenah & Daood had where they laid their feelings of forgiving each other openly yet secretively. That was a beautiful scene because realistically each & every couple has a signature & secret language that only they understand & the white/blue shirt was a mere example of the beautiful relationship that Momenah & Daood shared with each other which was once again rekindled perfectly.

As much as Daood is still emotionally detached to Nayab, Momenah’s marital life is far from perfect too. Just a little conversation of hers with Fahad was enough to show that she isn’t as happy as she claims to be. Her reluctance while speaking to her mother in law & the hesitation with which she confessed love to Fahad showed how awkwardly unhappy she is.

Once again a brilliant episode with top-notch acting & direction. I am glad they have kept things so simple & real. Can’t wait to find out what happens next.

Marasim – Episode 12!

0

OOOO EMMM GEEE!!! What a purrrrfeccctttttt episode it was. I actually got emotional while watching it & this is what the beauty of this drama is. I absolutely loved this episode as it was beautiful in just so many aspects. I can’t thank the team of Marasim enough for giving us such a beautiful drama.

“Aisay kyun muskurati ho jaisay ronay ka ghumaan ho?”, Daood finally understood that he had a responsibility towards Nayab but before anything, Nayab made sure she conveyed to him what she was feeling like she hated being treated as a commodity, that she was not a lifeless soul hovering in his home. Very simply she conveyed her burden that she had feelings too & she was not ready to compensate the void Daood’s life had due to Momenah’s absence. It was interesting to see that Nayab got hold of the complexity of her situation & depended on Daood when she fell weak. Daood definitely took some time but when he understood how a wife should be treated, he made sure she felt like a princess.

I am glad they have portrayed the obvious beautifully like when a husband loves his wife & makes it obvious, the mother & the unmarried sister start feeling insecure & label the wife as tactful but they tend to ignore the fact that it depends on the man himself as to how he maintains a balance between all his relations. Daood’s reassurance to Nayab about the comfort she deserved was a lesson that so many men out there need to learn because very subtly they touched the subject about how wives are mistreated & often confused as life-long maids. Daood made sure that he clarified Nayab’s position & her authority in his life in front of everyone especially his mother so that she doesn’t feel burdened enjoying all the luxuries that she; being Daood Rafique’s wife is entitled to.

Nayab seems to have shut the doors of her heart because she still hasn’t gotten over the fact how her love was the reason for Zaid’s death & just because she feels obliged to him, she can’t seem to place someone else in her heart with the fear of wronging Zaid’s feelings but every single time she doesn’t forget to remind herself about how much of a gentleman her husband Daood is. Nayab still may be dwelled in a delusion that Daood ain’t happy with her but she definitely needs to understand that this relationship needs more expression, more words to make it stronger.

I loved how they have portrayed the pact between Daood & Nayab about being husband & wife, so that both of them don’t expect too much each other. Daood has been comfortably honest about not being able to love Nayab as he had loved Momenah with all his might but he also didn’t bother much about Nayab’s past as for him, none of it seemed to matter much.

Deeba obviously got jealous seeing how the low-life Nayab was now enjoying the bounties of life that too on account of her brother who couldn’t even stand the sight of her. Her comparison was nothing but a result of her idlness but little did she know that she may have to face the same feelings in the near future when she will eventually get married to Abdullah, who has returned for good & is actually single once again. Can’t wait to see more of this drama & I am surprised that they still have a lot of twists & turns in store for us. Share your thoughts about this episode.

Marasim – Episode 11!

Once again I enjoyed watching Marasim. This episode was based on what Nayab was going through & I think they’ve done a brilliant job in portraying her feelings. The editing seemed a little off like a lot of scenes were shot in same dresses & were put together as a continuation of another scene, but then once again in the next scene they were in the previous dresses. It kind of targeted the continuity of the scenes but never mind, it can be ignored. :)

Nayab’s nightmare has begun where she has pretty much understood that she is a nobody in this house. She was just brought into this house for the sake of filling the empty space next to Daood & to add more to her woes, her husband has made it pretty clear that she is an unwanted person in his life too.

The best scene of this episode for me was the day-dreaming moment between Nayab & Zaid. It was touchy yet beautiful. I think they kept it just as realistic that Zaid did cross Nayab’s mind & she just didn’t move on because she got swamped with fulfilling Daood’s chores. In the hard times, the only thought of Zaid was enough to bring a smile on her face but it all slipped away when the reality struck & she had to come back to her senses for what her life was now.

Daood has been juggling between the feelings of hatred & sympathy for Nayab but I am sure he’d be able to surpass it very soon because Nayab has started to do things as her MIL fancies. She may not be interested in what her duties are as Daood’s wife but for now she is making sure to not upset her MIL because she gets to spend time with Gaitiara & then Deeba.

I kind of liked the fact that even though Gaitiara was sounding stern & mean but she was persistent on bringing Daood & Nayab closer. She might sound harsh while interacting with Nayab but not even for a second she tried to brain-feed Daood against her & instead, unlike a typical MIL she was trying to rationalize Daood’s behaviour & tried to make him realize that he had certain responsibilities towards Nayab & she had some rights as his wife too & I really liked how they made it visible through her selfishness. Even though at a first thought Gaitiara might look like a typical mother-in-law but she wasn’t acting like one. All she needs is her son’s happiness & wants him to snap out of his love for Momenah.

I cringed a lot when I heard Deeba talking. I think she is better off as a silent show-piece to compliment the family picture because whenever she speaks, she makes no sense at all. All of a sudden she goes like mera bhai, mera bhai so where was her sympathy when she was hell-bent on calling off his engagement to the love of his life, that too for her own revenge? All her eye-rolling & teeth-grinding doesn’t make any sense whatsoever.

Nayab has sacrificed a lot on her self-esteem & is trying hard to earn a place in everyone’s heart. Even though she may not want it but she does make an effort because she has understood that there’s no backing out now, so it’s better to do what’s expected of her & for that her character earns all the points.

I am glad Sherbano’s elder sister has some wisdom & she tackled her brilliantly. Sherbano seems fixated too & she is acting exactly like how she used to be with Gaitiara. She needs to forget & move on & most importantly, she needs to understand that her sister is now Momenah’s MIL, so her fixation to Daood & Momenah’s past relation doesn’t help much in front of her sister.

I can’t wait to see how Daood gets attached to Nayab because for now they have do some strong chemistry going on. I have never said this before but I think Ahsan Khan looked really presentable in the white jacket in this episode. I think he should go for more whites in the dramas because he certainly can pull the colour off. Sonia Hussain looked like such a doll & even Urwa Hocane looked nice & simple. Can’t wait for the next episode; share your thoughts on this, please. :)

Marasim – Episode 10!

Once again an engaging episode of Marasim. Once again they managed to make us feel emotionally attached to all the characters. Before saying anything I feel the special mention must go to Sonia Hussain for playing her part so well in this particular episode once again. She’s a star of the show.

At least on her wedding & Zaid’s last day of his life, Nayab manages to see Zaid for the last time. She takes steps towards a new beginning while Zaid makes a journey to his resting place. It was disturbing to see Zaid’s mother shedding tears at her only son’s condition. Almas did feel remorse & regret but she sealed the deal of Nayab’s fate with the wealth of Gaitiara’s son Daood, so she had no other way to back out despite how regretful she might be. No matter how must she wanted but that won’t undo the fact that Zaid died & Nayab died within.

Momenah held her head high all this while but finally seeing someone else walk into Daood’s home & life was enough to break her down. Momenah easily blamed Daood for getting married way too quickly but it was she who broke the engagement. Even though they both were at fault to some extent yet they both were victim of the circumstances spun by their mothers, I still couldn’t help feel sorry for them both, especially Momenah. Daood certainly had issues in moving on & Momenah posed that she was happy with her fiancé, but she let go of the truth that it was just an act she was pulling all this while. Sonia Hussain nailed that scene as she was flawless, effortless & natural in portraying the real feelings of Momenah.

Daood might’ve actually accepted Nayab & might’ve even tried to start afresh but Momenah’s confession messed his head up once again. His feelings once again were clouded & as a result Nayab had to pay the price by facing the insult in just fresh hours of her married life. Gaitiara once again very easily manipulated the situation & told Nayab that Almas was aware of Daood’s state of mind & nothing was kept as a secret from them all. She didn’t for once sympathize with Nayab but instead told her to work her way into Daood’s heart saying that men are like that & they need to be worked upon. Deeba is pure evil & I can’t help feeling detest towards her. It looked like she had made Momenah the focal point of her revenge & she wanted Daood to get married so that she could see Momenah suffer, in which she eventually succeeded.

Overall it was a great episode once again. I did notice that Nayab had no Henna/Mehandi on her hands when she was dressed as a bride but in the scenes following the Baraat, she had her finger tips covered & also Daood had normal hair when he was listening to Momenah cry but in the next scene when he tells Gaitiara to ask Nayab to leave his room, he had a change of hairstyle too. Just a few bits & bobs that I couldn’t ignore but over all this drama can’t be missed. Share what you have to say.

Marasim – Episode 09!

I must admit, when I started watching this drama I thought it was just a typical story with a bunch of insecure mother in laws torturing the wives of their sons. It came across as a drama which had nothing but family politics to offer & because of this I had no expectations whatsoever but as the episodes are coming my way, I am getting engrossed in it completely. I never thought that any recent drama had a power of making the viewer’s actually feel a bit for the characters but Marasim has done it & done it really well. I couldn’t help feeling sympathy for most of the characters & rage for the others. I must say, the director has done his job really really well in bringing out the best in the script & in the actors too.

Momenah has succeeded in making her mother feel that she is perfectly alright with Daood’s marriage & she feels nothing for him, which to a certain extent is a truth but on the other hand is a lie which comes naturally with the circumstances, but I feel Sherbano herself doesn’t want Momenah to forget what has happened. Momenah has done really well into making everyone believe that nothing matters to her anymore which has made Deeba upset because she wants to see Momenah suffering because of what her ex-fiancé Abdullah did to her. I think Deeba is playing the heartbroken card way over the top. At times, it’s pretty evident that Gaitiara feels remorse & guilty towards Daood & Momenah but Deeba over-shadows everything by reminding Gaitiara over & over again that she’s hurt & lonely.

Even though Nayab was vulnerable & was treated as a weak person who could’ve been forced into anything, she made sure that she lets her sister know every single emotion she has felt all this while because of her sister’s indifference to her. Nayab could’ve easily accepted the defeat but she made sure that she lets Almas know how cruel she has been to her only sister. Almas may have tried to flip away from the reality but there was this voice in her head that didn’t spare her, convincing her to do something to compensate the pain she has caused to her Khala, Zaid, Zaid’s sister & Nayab.

This episode had a lot of emotional scenes but the most overwhelming ones were the conversations between Nayab & Almas & also Daood & Momenah. I found Sonia Hussain’s acting top-notch in that particular scene, not that she ain’t doing well in the rest of the serial but this scene was outstanding in terms of her acting. She made sure that she conveys the feelings of Momenah to perfection & she actually stole the show. Similarly, Urwa has done her part really really well. The emotionless reality checks that she kept throwing Almas’s way were done beautifully. Even though Ahsan Khan has played yet another role of a heart-broken fellow but I feel he comes across acceptable because the ladies have over-shadowed him & just because this story is based more on what these girls are going through, it makes Daood’s pain secondary.

I must commend the hair stylists, the dress designers & also the makeup artists who are responsible for the look of all the actors. They have done their job absolutely perfect & just because they didn’t stick to any particular signature look of an actor, this has helped in creating more realism in regards to the characters. I am really happy that I tuned into Marasim & I am definitely hooked to this show. Can’t wait to find out what happens next. Share what you felt about tonight’s episode.

Marasim – Episode 08!

I must say the way this script has been tackled by the director is commendable. I feel all the actors have done a brilliant job portraying the characters assigned to them. I think it’s been a long time that I saw a drama where I felt a thing for the characters but Marasim has it happening.

Gaitiara still tricked Daood into believing that there was a chance of his & Momenah’s reconciliation because she was ready to surrender to Sherbano but it was Daood himself who backed out. Till date she has not let go of her inner most guilt in front of her only son that she herself never accepted Momenah as her daughter-in-law, that’s why the moment she found the most-awaited opportunity of parting both of them, she didn’t let go of it. Even though the focus has shifted away from Gaitiara’s miseries & now she has taken a step against her own son’s will, I still don’t find her character objectionable or negative. She is someone who now wants things her way because she has spent a good period of time pleasing others & then getting belittled, so now when she has found the glory, she is making the most of it.

Just like before, I didn’t feel a thing for Sherbano this time around too. She admitted that she wasn’t ready to forgive Gaitiara but when she had a chance, did she apologize to Gaitiara herself? She never once apologized to Gaitiara how she mistreated her & suggested very easily that Gaitiara must move on & forget what had happened but Sherbano still hasn’t realized that a single apology of hers could’ve changed the fate of her daughter Momenah, for whom she is feeling so bad now.

Poor Momenah had to put up an act to keep her mother from breaking down because she knows how deeply hurt she is, but still being a daughter she has over looked her mother’s mistakes. Momenah may or may not know but whatever has happened with her makes her mother responsible for it too. She may not accept it but that is definitely the truth. While looking at the cold-shoulder Almas was lending to Nayab, it was upsetting to see that she couldn’t even understand her younger sister’s emotions. She is someone who couldn’t even offer courtesy to her let alone console her for what she has gone through. Almas has proved that courtesy is a big thing which shouldn’t be expected of shallow people.

Zaid has obviously taken his breakup way too seriously & is now suffering physically. It was sad to see him & his family suffering so badly because of Almas, as she is responsible of backing out of the promise her late mother made in regards to Nayab & Zaid’s marriage. Daood has agreed to get married to Nayab because of Gaitiara but he still has to come to terms with it & coming across Momenah every now & then doesn’t help him much either. The wedding festivity has begun but everyone is heart-broken; Daood, Momenah, Nayab, Zaid & Sherbano. The only two people who are happy over their win are Deeba & Gaitiara.

I must say Sonia Hussain stole the show in this episode as Momenah. Not only she looks beautiful & absolutely innocent, she has played the character of Momenah to perfection as well. I must say even though Ahsan Khan has earned himself a label of ‘nakaam ashiq’, he certainly has acted really well as Daood & makes his suffering a lot more real & relate-able in this drama. I think the credit goes to the director for all such brilliant performances by the actors because he certainly has brought out the best in them. I am glad that I decided to give Marasim a go because it certainly hasn’t disappointed & I am now finding it hard to wait to find out what happens ahead in this drama.

Marasim – Episode 07!

Ohkay, so finally Nayab’s nightmare has been materialized. I couldn’t help feeling anything but sympathy for her because of how she was paying the price of losing her mother. It’s like she had to lose everything once she lost her mother because all the promises Nayab’s mother made were now buried too.

Gaitiara didn’t lose hope & knew how to get what she wanted. She knew just exactly who was the right person to talk to even after finding out that both Nayab & Almas have rejected the proposal. Gaitiara flaunted her wealth & material blessings in front of Almas’s husband because she knew he’d fall prey to her tact. Sadly for Nayab, Almas turned out to be as cruel as anybody else because Almas was so blinded by Gaitiara’s status that she started weighing Nayab’s luck on the basis of the wealth she’d attain after she’d get married to Daood, plus as an excuse she wanted to make it clear that by no means she’d make her husband angry & walk an extra mile for her sister, so for that she was backing out.

Very clearly Gaitiara also told Almas that Daood is heart-broken but she knew all of her son’s shortcomings will be concealed because of his bank balance. Despite knowing what Zaid meant to Nayab & also how Daood would be least bothered about her sister, Almas got convinced that the luck was approaching Nayab herself therefore she forced her into this relation.

Zaid on his own was instinctive about what was about to happen & his worst fears came true when he got to know how Nayab was being pressurized. I thought his mother would never agree to a sudden marriage but she did because she knew her sister had promised & sealed Nayab’s relation to Zaid while she was alive. At least she was more compassionate & sincere towards a promise that was made by someone who died but sadly Almas didn’t quite have a second thought that she’d be breaking off her mother’s promise.

I felt Urwa Hocane acted really well in that particular scene where she was trying to convince Almas for rejecting the proposal. She has done a brilliant job as Nayab. Nayab’s utterance that it seems like she is paying the price of staying at Almas’s place was just so real. The last scene seemed a bit too filmy but never-mind, it was done perfectly well too. Zaid made it to Almas’s place just at the right time but he knew he was too late to undo anything that had just happened.

Finally, after this I think there would be nothing left for Nayab or Zaid to hold onto because their parting has been sealed. Let’s see how rest of the story unfolds.

Marasim – Episode 06!

Ohkay I must admit, as the episodes are being revealed I am getting hooked to this show. They have certainly given us a lot more than we expected in terms of acting, story & dialogues. To be honest at first it came across as a story with a spectrum of family politics but now when the story has moved forward, they have taken it to another level & that isn’t disappointing at all.

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to the conversations in this episode & because of it I feel we’re being able to connect to & feel for the characters a lot more. When the episode began & Daood screamed on top of his lungs, I was like that’s being repetitive but the way Gaitiara molded him & talked him into getting married was brilliant & then it showed Daood’s outbursts had to be continued so that Gaitiara could take a final step. She has been playing with Daood at lot more than he himself knows & the way she backed her argument with a little bit of emotional blackmailing but some meaningful hidden secrets, it showed how much she wants to control things. Daood for now may not be able to see what his mother herself has planned for him & he may be angry at her but by the end of the day he’s the only son who knows he has a certain responsibility & liability towards his mother therefore he couldn’t continue to be angry.

Momenah hasn’t moved on but has just gotten engaged to divert her attention from the break-up but Gaitiara used it against her to tell Daood how heart-less she actually is. Daood himself saw Momenah act all comfy with her fiance  therefore he easily believed in what his mother told him.

Gaitiara & Deeba’s conversation gave us an insight as to how guilty Gaitiara herself feels for what she had put Daood up with but still she doesn’t want to sacrifice her ego for the sake of her son’s happiness. She is not at all ready to surrender to Sherbano & hand her son over to her daughter. Giaitara tried to pull off an act in front of Daood that she’s ready to face the defeat but Daood gave in his consent of getting married to the girl Gaitiara has chosen for him.

Things really can’t go wrong more than that for Nayab where she now has a proposal at hand & her relation with Zaid is at stake because he is still a student with no such definite future. Almas does feel for her sister but she is thinking way too practically. Almas might have supported Nayab if she was staying in Pakistan but now all of sudden when she has to move to UAE with her husband, she can’t seem to find any other better solution to Nayab’s problem & now she’d force her into marrying Daood. Giaitiara has kept Daood’s indifference a secret because she wants to see Nayab as her daughter in law in any case.

Nayab does come up with an idea of at least getting legally married to Zaid so that she can live with him in his house & even though Zaid has agreed to it, I doubt Zaid’s mother will support him in this because she seemed disinterested in his & Nayab’s relation anyway.

I must say all the actors especially Saba Hameed, Ahsan Khan, Urwa Hocane & Sonia Hussain have performed brilliantly. The director has done a brilliant job in bringing out the best in these actors & seems like they are really living the chracters of Giaitara, Daood, Nayab & Momenah. They have been excellent so far & because of that I seem to feel a lot for them all. Can’t wait to see what happens ahead.

Marasim – Episode 05!

0

Another week of a decent episode of Marasim. I am glad they have taken enough time in establishing the characters because by doing so they have been able to make us understand more about them. I feel the characters are getting more relate-able & the direction seems perfect ever since they’re done with the flashbacks.

This episode focused more on Nayab, her life & her character. After losing her mother, Almas has forced Nayab to stay with her because she has no one else who’d look after her. Nayab & Zaid being first cousins are emotionally involved with each other where everyone in their family knows of their relation & pretty much approves of it. Zaid is a humble & caring person who loves Nayab a lot. He is Nayab’s support system & she knows she can rely on him any time because he truly loves her & cares for her. Right now they both are waiting for Zaid to get settled after his CSS so after that they’d be able to step in a married life together.

Deeba on the other hand has told her mother to fetch a simpleton for Daood who can be bossed around & she’ll be in an awe of how rich he is. Deeba thinks a simple girl from the middle or the lower middle class will buy everything Daood will ever tell her & she will happily compromise whereas a girl belonging to the same social class as them will never mend & will always be rigid. Daood hasn’t found a closure to his break-up yet & he is mentally scattered.

On a short visit to Almas’s place Gaitiara happens to see Nayab & get a glimpse of her nature, sadly Nayab fits the description given by Deeba for Daood’s wife perfectly & just when Nayab visits to hand over Gaitiara’s dress to her, Gaitiara tests Nayab by showing off the wealth & her place. I thought Urwa was brilliant through out the episode but she excelled in this particular scene as well. She made it look like she wasn’t interested or rather she didn’t notice much about her surroundings but just to satisfy Gaitiara’s pompous ego, she kept on adding more to it by appreciating all the ‘material’ Gaitiara owned.

I felt the whole ‘suit dhoondho’ scene was a bit over-done & a bit dragged. I mean if Nayab couldn’t find it Almas should’ve gotten up to help her in finding the suit. At one point Almas has all her sympathies with her innocent younger sister but on the other hand she thinks it’s ohkay to boss her over just because she wants to prove a point to her mother in law that Nayab is not a burden on them & is helping with the household chores.

I must say after Daood & Momenah’s character, I have started to like & feel a lot for the character of Nayab & for a change it’s good to see Urwa Hocane doing something different. She has portrayed the feelings of Nayab perfectly & is fitting the role really well. Apart from the suit scene & Daood’s unnecessary caterwauling, I found the whole episode very interesting. They are taking it slow but definitely have a control over the script because the direction seems perfect. Can’t wait to find out more.

Marasim – Episode 04!

0

Hmmm, another good episode with a decent progress in the story. I am glad that they have started to introduce the new characters by now & have stopped resorting to a lot of flashbacks. They have pretty much given us the insight about the past & the family background so now sticking to the present seems like a perfect choice.

Daood has stood by his promise & still tries to talk Momenah into marrying him but now Momenah has promised her mother that she will do everything to avoid & forget Daood therefore she knows there’s no turning back. Momenah being a daughter naturally feels a lot more for her mother & blames Gaitiara for the nasty she has instigated. Momenah is unable to understand that Sherbano’s behaviour with Gaitiara has forced her to not feel a thing for Sherbano now but she is overlooking the fact & tells Daood that she is over their relationship because he didn’t support Sherbano in front of Gaitiara.

In this hour of need Sherbano has her sister by her side who is ears to all her problems. No matter how honest her caterwauling regarding Momenah is but I fail to feel a thing for Sherbano’s character because I think it’s her time to payback & sadly it involves Momenah sacrificing her happiness but for the sake of Sherbano I say she deserves what she’s being put up with.

Momenah’s khala ceased the opportunity & convinced Momenah to move on & starting afresh with her cousin & Khala’s son Fahad who is going to return from The States very soon. Momenah thinks rushing into another relation will help her come to terms with the fact that her engagement with Daood has been called off & she will reach to some sort of a closure. Momenah did make a hasty decision but definitely the news of Daood getting engaged helped her in taking this step.

A new family of Gaitiara’s mother’s family friend was brought into the picture where Almas has all her sympathies with Gaitiara because she is not only her dress designer but shares a relation with her that dates back to the friendship that both of their mothers shared with each other. Gaitiara who now wants Daood to settle down will find just Almas’s sister a perfect match for him.

Daood has retaliated a lot & I liked the fact that he stood by the decision he made but now when Momenah herself has backed out, he can’t seem to undo what happened & have an issue concentrating on things around him. He needed Momenah’s support to overcome this obstacle but now when she isn’t ready, Daood is bewildered & depressed. This episode introduced Urwa’s character as a simpleton girl embodying shyness. I hope her character remains the same & she gives us the reason to like her presence in the play. I am glad they have come up with a decent story with an up to the mark direction to fill out the prime time slots on the Sundays & I must give a special mention to both Sonia Hussain & Ahsan Khan for playing the roles of Momenah & Daood effortlessly. Sonia Hussain looks stunning & she has breathed a life into her character. Share your views about the latest episode.
