On his selection of films he said, ” Bachana fared well while TMLS struggled to get its act right with the audience. The audience shouldn’t be blamed for disliking a film. Personally I felt, TMLS had a good script but something went intrinsically wrong with the technical support i.e. colour grading and sound until the final screening. Lack of promotions was also a cause for its debacle. As for Arth, it was completely Shaan’s visualization from start to finish. Shahid Afridi’s video from a press conference was going viral for all the wrong reasons. He’s known for his outspoken nature but every time he rubs people the wrong way. In the video on being asked about Kashmir he responds, “I say Pakistan doesn’t want Kashmir. Don’t give it to India either. Let Kashmir be independent. At least humanity will be alive. Let people not die. Pakistan doesn’t want Kashmir. It can’t even manage its four provinces. The big thing is humanity, people are dying there, it is painful to see.”

His video became viral in no time and people responded to his statements. Azad Jammu Kashmir went on to ask Afridi to refrain from talking about such sensitive issues. While, Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah questioned Shahid Afridi’s statement on Kashmir being ‘celebrated in sections of the Indian media’, underlining that the former Pakistan cricketer clearly supported freedom for Kashmir and criticized human rights violations.

Just when you think people are over Coke Studio’s Ko Ko Korina debacle, someone shows up and makes us recall all the pain we felt listening to the track. Ahad Raza Mir’s much awaited Coke Studio debut proved to be a bigger disaster than Chain Aye Na. From politicians to general public everyone bashed the singers and the platform for ruining a classic. Although, Coke Studio had not come up with any clarification, the singers Ahad Raza Mir and Momina Mustehsan defended their act multiple times.

Coke Studio fiasco made the Sindhi singer Jigar Jalal to come up with his own version of the song. In what is possibly the first video of the series titled Goth Studio, Jalal begins by saying, “Agar Ahad aur Momina Ko Ko Korina gaa sakte hain to Jigar Jalal kyun nahi?” (If Ahad and Momina can sing Ko Ko Korina, why can’t Jigar Jalal?)

This catchy tune starts with the singers original lyrics, “Jungle me dhoonda, ke sheharon me dhoonda, magar mujh ko Ko Ko Korina kahin nahi mili,” (I looked for Ko Ko Korina in jungles and cities but couldn’t find her anywhere). Well, honestly, this rendition may not have been made on the scale as big as Coke Studio’s, it surely sounds better than what Ahad Raza Mir sang.

Earlier we reported that Yasir Nawaz had finalised Neelam Munir and Sami Khan for his third feature film Wrong No.2. Yasir was initially working on a murders mystery but he chose to go for the sequel of his first film which is again going to be a comedy. While, Sami was finalized as the leading man, it was the female lead that was a mystery. But later it was revealed that Neelam who is currently working opposite Yasir Nawaz, the director, in Dil Mom Ka Diya.

Sana Fakhar , Nayar Aijaz, Javed Sheikh and  Mehmood Aslam have also joined the cast and what’s surprising is that they are currently shooting in Hyderabad. Sami, Mehmood and Sana are shooting for their scenes in the city while the rest may join them soon.

Director Yasir Nawaz is also playing a character in the film. On choosing to do the film, the director said, “I’m back at comedy because that’s what sells. The script for Wrong No. 2 will be written by Danish Nawaz while I have written the screenplay. After returning from Harvard, the brother-sister duo, Hania and Kamil Chima, founded Nehr Ghar Films with a view to add their unique flavour to the business of story-telling in Pakistan. They announced their debut feature film, Laal Kabootar last month with a very catch poster in red. It is the siblings’ first foray into the world of cinema, one they hope to make with a bang in 2019. The introduction of this pair marks the entry of the next generation of filmmakers into Pakistan’s growing cinema landscape.

After almost three weeks of announcing their first feature film, Laal Kabootar, Nehr Ghar Films is proud to reveal the hands and minds that went into creating it. It is going to be directed by Kamal Khan while Zoobia Anwar and Shahrukh Kalim will assist him. It is written by Karachi-based screenwriter Ali Abbas Naqvi. Ace cinematographer who’s done films like Cake, 021 and Jalebi will co-produce the film as well as photograph it.

Mariam Azmi will head the costume department of the film while the production design will be supervised by Zain Khan. Owais Shamsi is the line producer of the film. Former Coke Studio producer Rohail Hyat’s son Danyal Hyat will do the score of the film. Music director Taha Malik will compose some catchy tracks for the film. Now let’s wait and watch what these new comers bring us.

Two days ago Durj’s trailer was finally launched. Shamoon had announced it long ago along with Gum, another film by Abbasi starring Sami Khan. The trailer shows that is a very intense film as it tells a story of a cannibal. Shamoon said that there are basically three stories which merge into one.

He was inspired by a family in Punjab which dug graves and earthed the bodies and another man who would dig graves of young girls and raped them. Shamoon said, “That struck me. It became a nightmare for me to know that there are people in this country who are doing this and roaming free. If this thing becomes easy [to carry out], nobody is actually going to be safe.”

On challenges of being playing such a difficult role on screen, he said, “It was not an easy job. When you’re thinking of doing such a role you need a lot of research; you cannot just be a negative role onscreen, you need to have a psychological aspect to it.”

He also had a hard time preparing for the part and it took very long. He said, “I had to keep my beard for almost two years to make it look real and give it that length. It took me three months to grow my nails. I did not want to use wigs or fake props for this movie. Our viewers are very smart now and I didn’t want to cheat them if we are doing something so real, it has to be convincing.” This makes us only look forward to the film more and more.

Zara Noor Abbas is also becoming a regular on our television screens after her drama Khamoshi went on to become a hit on the TRP charts. Her character Arsala though not loved immensely was still liked by the audiences. She has since been seen in HUM TV’s Lamhay opposite Shaaz Khan. Another of her dramas is all set to hit the screens. She will be starring opposite Syed Jibran in this one. Syed Jibran is also currently a part of Ranjha Ranjha Kardi which is getting huge love from the viewers due to phenomenal acting by all the actors.

Zara will again portray a middle class girl in the upcoming Qaid and this time again her father will be the one causing obstacles in her way. She will also get arrested and we can only hope the father does not go for the suicide option. The promo looks depressing but the story seems a bit interesting with all the police case angle. Kiran Malik is soon to be 40 and still the hottest. 40 is the new twenty. While, many actresses hide their age for instance Meera has been under 30 for about 30 years now. But there is one actress who does not hide her age at all. When the interviewer called her to be in her 30s, she corrected him by saying that she is about to turn 40. Now, isn’t it courageous to do that where even men, let alone women, hide their age to stay forever young.

Kiran who is debuting with Pinky Memsaab doesn’t believe in hiding her age. initially, Zarrar was to be her debut film but it was delayed and now it will release in August 2019. Kiran who is an HR Person says that she met Shaan via Bilal Ashraf and got a leading role in his film. Initially, someone else was doing the part but Shaan wanted a new face for the role. She did acting workshops with Shaan before she finally started shooting. She says that people raised eyebrows as to why she had been cast opposite Shaan but she thinks she has put enough effort.

She also thinks that critics are going to like her more in Pinky Memsaab as it is more of an artsy film. She said that the team had no plans of releasing the film in theatres before but they are going to give it a try as it is a good film.

So what’s new about the this wedding now? Well, the latest addition is that the couple has finalised Jaipur’s Mehrangarh Fort as their venue.  There are several events leading up to the wedding, including a Christian ceremony, which will all be in India. They will culminate with the Indian wedding on December 1 at the palace (the Umaid Bhawan Palace), where they will tie the knot under a traditional four-pillar structure, a mandap. 

Moving on to the details about the Christian wedding, The Sun reported that Priyanka has asked her friend Mubina Rattonsey (also a film producer) to be her maid of honour. As for the wedding couture, it is reported that Priyanka will be dressed in a red outfit as opposed to traditional white in Christian weddings. The bridesmaids will wear Ralph Lauren outfits for the Christian wedding, because the couple wore the brand at their first public appearance together at the Met Gala last year.
