‘Raazi’ Will Not Be Releasing In Pakistan

Meghan Gulzar-helmed ‘Raazi’ will be releasing in India tomorrow but due to it’s controversial content no distributor has purchased this film in Pakistan.

A senior distribution company official told Express Tribune,

“It is disappointing to see that films on controversial subjects are being produced in India time and again,”

He continued,

“All our distributors are well aware about Alia’s role in Raazi and so, no one is willing to purchase the film. Patriotism is another reason for distributors not being pushed about buying the film. Indian producers should know that all our distributors have unanimously decided to boycott such controversial films.”

'Raazi' Will Not Be Releasing In Pakistan

The film is an adaptation of Harinder Sikka’s novel, Calling Sehmat, it features an Indian spy (Alia) who marries a Pakistani man (Vicky) during the Indo-Pak war of 1971.

In an earlier interview Vicky Kaushal playing a Pakistani major’s role said,

“The film is not just about the Indo-Pak war, it is much deeper than that. It is about an individual relationship. It is also about an era when there was tension between the two countries and during that time a Kashmiri woman married a Pakistani major.”

'Raazi' Will Not Be Releasing In Pakistan

He went on to add,

“I wasn’t worried that I am playing a Pakistani, so it should be shown in a certain light. I think the story does the work. People will realise it is not an India-Pakistan war film.”

Tabeer Episode 12 – Last Review!

Ohkay so, I literally had to drag & push myself to tune to Tabeer in order to view & review it. Just like everyone else, I also tune to dramas to get a little break & have a pleasant time pass, but the dramas that drag my mood down are so not my idea of entertainment. Yes, there have been quite a lot of disasters in the past that I have reviewed, even reviewing currently as well like Noor ul Ain or Khasara (which I’m sure I will stop too) but I have either enjoyed reviewing them or turning them into an opportunity for sharing a laughter with my fellow drama-buffs but that is not the case with Tabeer & no, I am not calling it a disaster as it definitely is not one!

I will definitely give props to the team for achieving what they were aiming for – showing a reality based drama which showcases depression & trials & tribulations in a convincing manner but let’s just say, it is a way too realistic, way too depressing for my taste. I neither enjoy watching its episodes nor do I have fun reviewing it & that is why, I am backtracking & going to stop reviewing it as I have had enough.

This drama is based on a very serious theme & the team of this drama is doing a great job because they are conveying human emotions in the best way possible that is why I am sure a lot of people are tuning to it but it just is not my cup of tea. I can not force myself anymore to tune to a drama that puts me in a bad mood because this is not why I watch dramas to begin with.

Ajju was one story, even his brother Rafaqat & his wife Asma are upto no good. They definitely have their sights on the house that Yasir has left for Tabeer & Daadi. I think this will turn out to be the reason why Tabeer might be forced to face Fawad once again as she might need his help to solve this matter once she & Daadi will have nowhere to go to if Ajju & co. throws them out of their own home!

Daadi & Tabeer’s conversation was very heavy & emotional. Obviously Daadi can relate to what Tabeer is going through because even she has endured the pain of losing her husband & her child. Tabeer is now only going to live her life in regret & it will take a lot of time for her to forgive Fawad because he & his baby are the reason why she lost her child.

I was amused when I saw the doctor. He happens to be one comic factor in this otherwise depressing drama because of his monotony & 2-day prescription of formula milk, every.single.time. There was a new entry in this drama. I like Mizna Waqas but she is being typecast I feel. All her roles are more or less the same & not really looking forward to her antics as her character for now had cringe written all over it that too in bold letters. Now things are going to be stretched way too much & for that reason I am out.

Please continue watching Tabeer & have a good time. Please share your thoughts.

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

PS: I will keep the window open for reviewing & if in the future I happen to watch an episode of Tabeer by chance & if I feel like, I will review that particular episode but for now I don’t see myself doing that as I’m pretty much done.

Visaal Episode 7 Review – Super!

Ohkay so, this was yet another interesting episode of Visaal. What I love about this play is the simplicity of both, the characters & the story-telling. This drama shows that if a simple script is well-written & well-directed, it turns out to be a drama that is worth watching.

Shabbir & Pari were still struggling. Shabbir couldn’t come to terms with what happened & that is why he was still bitter. Pari has gone into this shell & despite not being guilty, she is feeling like that because she is seeing how hard her father is suffering. Jumman Bua’s scene was so emotional, it is good that at least she has all her sympathies with Shabbir & Pari & her presence at least pacifies them a little, even though both of them haven’t come out of their misery yet!

Taimur proved to be a coward & left without saying a word. If not Pari, he should have contacted Shabbir despite his boss telling him not to because he himself was well aware of the fact how Shabbir & Pari’s life was ruined. Even though Taimur did think of calling his mother which would’ve showed that he was ready to give Pari the respect but going away proved the otherwise.

Akram, Yasmin & Dilbar succeeded in doing what they came together for, which was fixing his & Naheed’s marriage. Yasmin was right, Naheed was not happy but it wasn’t the news of her marriage that was bothering her, it was the guilt of wronging Pari that was making her restless. I enjoy seeing how Yasmin every single time snubs Dilbar & how he is always left speechless, lol. What Yasmin said to Akram about wronging his lady love hinted that may be she has been through the same too that is why she assumed the same about Akram. I am low-key rooting for Dilbar & Yasmin, they will make a very interesting couple, lol!

The way Shabbir’s colleagues spoke about the entire fiasco showed the reason why Shabbir was so not ready to face the world yet but those things apart, all the comments those oldies made about Pari were cringe worthy & left a very bad taste in the mouth. Last time one of them praised her for her beauty which was not cool but still somewhat acceptable if we take it as a general conversation but now the things he said about witnessing her beauty with his own eyes was cheap.

The precap showed that Akram will eventually find out that he is getting married to Naheed & not Pari, will this eventually turn out to be karma’s spin on Naheed where she will get humiliated in front of everyone too by facing this rejection, the way Pari faced humiliation because of her? Things are super interesting so far & I can totally see them getting even better in the remaining episodes. All the actors are doing a wonderful job but till date I haven’t been able to come to terms with Zahid Ahmed’s wig. Even though I like how this drama has a very subtle dramatic feel to it, still everything in it is believable but his wig is another story. Please share your thoughts.

Aangan Episode 29 Review – The Explanation!

Ohkay so, this episode revealed the big secret; the actual explanation & Asim’s reasoning behind this decision.

This episode well & truly highlighted the importance of elders of the family & what they do if they are just, fair & rational. I love Abba Jee & Zaitoon Bano, the way the decided to do right by Laila made me respect them even more. The highlight of this episode for me was Zaitoon & Laila’s conversation. It was so beautiful that Zaitoon decided to put all her differences with Laila aside that she always had as her mother-in-law & for once decided to just be her mother, give her the shoulder to cry on & be all ears to everything that she had to say. It just warmed my heart when Zaitoon started speaking to Laila about the absence of her mother. Zaitoon felt guilty too because it was her son Asim who did this to Laila & that is why she was doing everything in her power to compensate a little & mend Laila’s broken heart. I love love love the way both Abba Jee & Zaitoon have taken matters in their hand & are trying their best to do what is right & what needs to be done. Abba Jee gave Afrah the comfort & confidence to feel like a part of the family & Zaitoon was doing the same with Laila, sharing her sorrows & wiping her tears. Who would’ve thought that the same Zaitoon who always had an issue with Laila’s attitude & temperament will console her like a mother? Love the message this drama is giving to all the parents in law. Love it!

After Zaitoon & Abba Jee, I love Shaina too, all the things she said to Laila were just so beautiful. It also emphasizes the fact that how girls who come from big families are mentally mature than their age because they firsthand experience all these things & learn lifelong lessons. Shaina is so young but because Laila has always been such a good role model, has always been like a friend, Shaina decided to say everything that she has felt for Laila to make her feel better. Laila was trying to pick up the pieces but she didn’t know where to start from but she decided to bounce back & start from her son because he is her happy place.

Haseena left quite an impression on Sajjad but Asim once again decided to take a stand for her. Even though Asim was doing justice but it was heart breaking to see him doing all those things for Hassena now that he used to do for Laila, like supporting & defending her in front of his family. Finally, it was revealed that because Haseena was very majboor & besahara, Asim decided to give her a social security but I am not too happy with that explanation. Yes, I am glad that the writer kept it simple & to an extent typical but then again, no explanation was ever going to be good enough to make this decision of Asim acceptable or less bitter. I am sure not many viewers are going to be happy with this explanation & the fact that Asim doesn’t feel wrong or at fault makes things complicated too. It’s a done deal that Laila will have to compromise & accept because that’s what Abba Jee said in the end.

Afrah came out of her shell & decided to stop acting like she was guilty of doing something wrong. She left quite an impression on Hajra. I got tired of hearing Hajra again though. I loved the way Abba Jee tried to put things into perspective & how Zaitoon also reminded her that she had a daughter too so she should actually think before being unjust to Afrah because of her hatred for her.

Zahid, what have you done? Of all the people in your circle, why did you have to tag Asim along? Just when I was feeling bad for Zahid because of the way Rubina treated him, I was happy that he again got a little beating but I must say I love his enthusiasm & the way he is always so happily advocating his stand in front of everyone, lol he is funny & very innocent!

Loved loved loved this episode but yes, I am not too happy with Asim’s explanation. I feel for Laila so much. Loving everyone’s acting especially Paras Masroor’s. Please share your thoughts.

Aangan Episode 28 Review – Heart-breaking!

Ohkay so, I loved this episode of Aangan & what I loved the most about it was the way everyone’s reaction was covered. Yes, it was a serious episode but that was given, considering the storm that the family endured lately & now when everything mellowed down, everyone was trying to gather their thoughts.

I loved the way this episode began, with Laila on everyone’s mind because they all knew what Asim meant to her. They have themselves seen the perfect relationship that Asim & Laila shared, with Asim being the center of universe for Laila so for something like that to happen to such a couple shook everyone to no end. Rubina thought of all the things that Laila said to her, Zaitoon also thought that despite their childlessness she never advocated the idea of Asim’s 2nd marriage. The things Hajra said about Laila in the past showed that Laila & Asim’s relationship could turn anyone green with envy because they were just so happy, so in love with each other.

Asim struggled too but I didn’t feel a thing for him. I liked how in this scenario, everyone without saying a word was on Laila’s side as they knew that she didn’t deserve this. Asim went to Haseena & I wish that all the things she said about Laila were based on her personal experience & interaction with Laila. I would like to believe that Asim has not said anything to Haseena about Laila or her temperament because that would be wrong on so many levels. I think it was Haseena’s own assumptions because Asim doesn’t look like someone who will speak against his wife? But well he also didn’t look like someone who’d get married behind his wife’s back so don’t really know what to expect from him anymore.

Allauddin & Anila on their own are funny & their dialogues provide that comic relief but Anila just crossed the line with Afrah I feel. I loved that both Shaina & in the end Abba Jee intervened to put an end to Afrah’s misery. She was now a part of the family & there was no doubt about that. Sadaan took that decision under a lot of pressure so now everyone had to respect that. Anila got to know that she shouldn’t have any say in this matter because Afrah was not related to her at all. I loved everything that Abba Jee said, everyone knows how Anila is but it was a high time for it to be conveyed to her.

As much as I have blamed Zahid for being stern with Rubina & as much as I have wished that he changed, Rubina’s attitude was a little disappointing because in stead of being a little thankful that it wasn’t Zahid who got married, she was still angry at him. I feel for Zahid a lot, he doesn’t have much respect in anyone’s eyes plus he is always misunderstood because the truth that he speaks doesn’t sit well with most of the family members & that gives them a chance to judge him because that’s their way of overlooking what he says but I wish after this, Rubina had at least treated him a little better. I find him very innocent!

This episode was very interesting, even though things have become so grim but I still feel connected to the characters because we enjoyed their good times so naturally we feel sad seeing their bad times too. I felt for Laila so much, the way she isolated herself & didn’t utter a word. Asim you better be ready, I wish Laila gives him a piece of her mind but I also know that because she loves him so much, she will eventually forgive him & accept his marriage to Haseena. Iffat Omar did exceptionally well in this episode. Waseem Abbas is such a treat to watch as Aalu. Please share your thoughts.

Cheers,

Ishq Tamasha Episode 10 Review-Illogical!

Ishq Tamasha is more of a drama you watch just for entertainment. It is not something high on content or what you’ll call the best but at least things should look real. Up till now, we have an orphan girl Mirha who is mistreated by her relatives. After a lot of bad things go down, she is finally kidnapped by our hero (like there is no other way to meet right?). Her chachi who was already looking for an opportunity to slander her character so that her only son did not marry her throws her out of the house. And now what? Now! We will see the lamest apology system which ever existed in the universe. What actually is Mehrab trying to apologize about? That he kidnapped the WRONG girl. Since he is not looking guilty about his desire to kidnap Rushna. This combined with Mehrab’s half-hearted attempts at making things better for Mirha has made the whole sequence look extremely illogical.

Ishq Tamasha Episode 10 Review-Illogical!

One thing is for sure though. Arham and Rushna deserve each other. The two ziddi bachas will compliment each other perfectly. Rushna who was shown as being emotionally wrecked over Mirha’s plight actually does not care much as she has not confessed what happened. She knows the whole story and still all she says is ke ammi aap uski baat to sunn letein. She knows Mehrab kidnapped Mirha because of her. This does not make Rushna look bad in any way and can save Mirha’s life too but she is still tight-lipped over I do not understand what. Arham is also same as Rushna. According to him, agar woh apni izzat bachana chahte hain to baat khatam karein. Really? Don’t you realize your brother just kidnapped a young lady?

The whole chachi jaan track is on repetition. And it will remain like that because the character’s sole purpose is her #SaveWahaj mission.

The preview of the next episode looks interesting. Let’s see what happens!

Singer Sohail Shahzad To Sue Rahat Fateh Ali Khan Over Plagiarism

So singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has made headlines again but not for the reasons anyone would have liked him to. Lahore-based singer Sohail Shahzad is set to file a case against Rahat Fateh Ali Khan for plagiarising his 2013 hit Naina in the 2016 Indian Punjabi film Tiger.

Talking to a renown newspaper Sohail said he plans on suing both Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and the Indian record label,

“I got to know that the song has been copied back in 2016 when people started commenting and sharing it with me on social media. I’m a fan of Happy Raikoti, the lyricist of Rabba, the copied version. So I emailed the Indian record label, explaining the situation to them, but didn’t get a response.”

Singer Sohail Shahzad To Sue Rahat Fateh Ali Khan Over Plagiarism

Sohail further added that he still hasn’t contacted or has been contacted by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan or his team,

“I can’t believe that they didn’t know my song existed and that it could be a co-incidence because the melody is similar, even the song lyrics are matched to keep the composition intact and the words are borrowed.”

He continued,

“A dedicated artist’s highest appreciation is that people follow his music, his art, and cover his songs. But it should be with credit provided to the original artist. When you get to know your work is recreated without your knowledge, it hurts. Therefore, my team and I have decided to go the legal way.”

Singer Sohail Shahzad To Sue Rahat Fateh Ali Khan Over Plagiarism

The copyrights have nothing to do with Khan since he only sang the song so Sohail was asked why he isn’t suing the record label only to which he said because suing the Indian record label meant they must have a representative in India to handle the legalities, it would make the process difficult.

“We are giving Rahat sahab the notice so his team can approach the record label because they will obviously contact him, and so that we can establish a link. I know for sure they would have known of this song before.”

He also added,

“I have suffered financial damage and it has hurt my image and popularity as well. I compose and write my songs. Because of this, some people now think I’m the one plagiarising Bollywood songs when it’s the other way around.”

He shared he is set to start a campaign against this and send a legal notice to everyone involved soon.

Meanwhile here’s the song by Sohail Shahzad,

There has been no response from Rahat Fateh Ali Khan so far.

Khamoshi Episode 31 Review-!&%!!!

Yes, nothing happened. But that is not what bothered me today in this episode since it is a must with Khamoshi. This was the second last episode of this drama and the bad guys are still winning. Kudos to the writer for this ridiculousness and double kudos to the director for not even thinking about changing it. It does not matter how Shahram is going to make everyone payback, it is still stupid that all of them are well and good at this stage.

Engagement planning is in full swing with nobody knowing when the said engagement would take place. They have gone to such lengths to make Zubiya unlikeable that it has become unrelatable instead. Who wants to try on 10 dresses just to buy one? Why a girl like Zubiya who is now getting her wishes fulfilled being bothered by gut feelings? They have maybe lost touch with the reality in a way which is non-fixable. Zubiya’s mom is another pain too and I am not going to write anything on Bee Jaan because no use repeating it.

Khamoshi Episode 31 Review-!&%!!!

Arsala is a churail (at least I am going to say that). On what grounds is she so pissed at Shahram? Girl you are the one who didn’t want to marry. You ruined Shahram. You ruined Bee Jaan, the only two people who genuinely loved you. But you are happy for Atif ki nokri and Naima ka gharr. You do not deserve a happy ending in any way.

The overall styling was also soooooo bad in this episode. With super pink lipstick paired with pinky blush, it was hurting my eyes. But then again a girl who was dancing for getting a chance to meet Naima deserves the pinkiest makeup ever.

Naima’s tantrums were again so uncalled for. But what to do? There is nothing substantial left for that character so they make her be as cringy as she can be.

I am so happy the next one is the last episode. Hope they did not change their mind and shoot another one overnight because that will be painful!

Lashkara Episode 5 Review – Very Interesting!

Ohkay so, this episode of Lashkara was amazing & very interesting. I love that despite having that comical undertone, every other situation has so much depth & meaning to it. The entire scenario that was elaborated in this episode depicted just that.

Feeka & Bubbly were to get engaged. The news of Bubbly getting married to Feeka took everyone by surprise because no one could imagine Bubbly settling for a guy like Feeka who has nothing of his own, no identity & even no personality whatsoever. Bubbly has made a huge sacrifice here & she can not explain everyone her reasons for saying yes to this proposal.

Sunny knew that he couldn’t do anything to stop this marriage from happening, therefore he came up with a very petty excuse to make a scene & punish Feeka for stepping into his territory. I couldn’t stop laughing at Feeka’s entry with his clothes torn apart & confidence shattered because this was supposed to be the best, most awaited day of his life but what just happened was not as per his plans. It was unfortunate that Nasreen at that very moment didn’t do anything to help mend his son’s bruised ego because she wanted to convey a message loud & clear to Bubbly & her family.

Even though I couldn’t help sympathize with Feeka when he cried & did feel that Nasreen shouldn’t have done what she did but later when she gave a little explanation to Feeka, I understood her perspective. Like Feeka said that Nasreen has always over-protected him & when she should’ve walked an extra mile to help her son feel better, she let him sit there feeling low & humiliated, it was because Nasreen very well knows how simple & innocent Feeka is & how Bubbly was his polar opposite so in that moment, she curbed her son’s feelings aside to shape his future with a wife like Bubbly. Nasreen had to do this because she wanted Bubbly to always live with this guilt that she was the reason why her husband was humiliated, which would obviously give Feeka an upper-hand on Bubbly. I must say, though Nasreen is not a negative character, but I like how she is manipulative in a good way that if she is aware of Bubbly’s upbringing, she is also not oblivious to her son’s shortcomings. Nasreen knew that if she hadn’t done that, it would have meant losing Feeka to Bubbly with she ruling him for the rest of their lives but just one such move was enough to let Bubbly’s parents know that they now had to send her away with a few lessons related to maintaining her husband’s dignity & taking care of his respect forever. Though Feeka was upset but once again Nasreen proved that she was being this over-protective mother that she is, doing everything to ensure her son’s happiness in the future.

I felt for Sunny so much, he knew that he crossed the line but he just didn’t expect that Bubbly would diss him because he always thought that no matter what he’d do, Bubbly will understand & appreciate his approach but sadly, that wasn’t the case this time. Nasreen’s arrow hit the bulls eye because now Bubbly was feeling ashamed & embarrassed at everything that happened & whatever Sunny did. Well, even though Bubbly ended things with him, he just couldn’t take no for an answer & tried his luck for the last time right before Bubbly was about to get engaged. Both the boys have this extreme love for Bubbly but who does Bubbly really love, that surely hasn’t been revealed. She did like Sunny & wanted to get married to him to escape Feeka but now she is going to get married to Feeka to protect her family’s name. Let’s see if this marriage takes place & will Bubbly get a chance to be with someone she well & truly loves?

This drama is just so interesting & makes a perfect weekend entertainer, especially now that it airs right after that boring Noor ul Ain, I have so much more appreciation for it. All the actors are doing such a wonderful job but Imran Ashraf steals the show, followed closely by Mohsin Abbas Haider. His emotional acting was just so convincing, like it’s not Feeka’s fault that he is so innocent & can’t really take a stand for himself, he just has been raised like that by a very strong & dominating woman like Nasreen, I just felt for him a lot. Sunny on the other hand knows how to fight his own battles but still he is losing at it because his lady love is not on his side. Their journeys are very different but interesting & both Imran Ashraf & Mohsin Abbas Haider are nailing it, I am sure no other actors could’ve done a better job. Ushna Shah is very cute & sweet as Bubbly as well. I just can’t wait to see more. The actor playing the role of Nazeer is amazing too, I enjoy his expressions the most & his presence in every scene is undeniable & same goes for the actor playing the role of Nikki, she is such a fine actor. The direction so far is just flawless. Please share your thoughts.

Noor ul Ain Episode 13 Review – Boring!

Ohkay so, a poker faced, serious heroine opening the episode with this boring look on her face is not my idea of a weekend entertainment. I was actually put off by seeing Noor’s dud expressions that too in the very first scene. This drama is boring & I don’t really think they are giving me enough reasons to continue watching it!

It is so obvious that the writer is now only adding villains in both Khizar & Noor’s lives to show how they both will stick & fight them together but is it also obvious that writer’s sympathies are with Noor more because Khizar’s past was resurfaced as well about which he himself was a bit concerned.

This drama relies heavily on the filler scenes covered by the supporting cast & they don’t really do much to help the overall story of the drama because the main or as you say, the leading track is not that strong. Ghazala kept on ranting about Noor that she accused Kashi of snatching Khizar’s phone. Sofie’s MIL has got nothing else to talk about that is why she keeps on yapping about how unhappy she is. It is funny that the MIL is concerned about the son who got rejected & is not even considering the happiness of the son who is committed. Forced situations, forced scenes, forced scenarios!

So, Mahrukh & Khizar share a past but again, even in this situation Mahrukh was shown to be negative & Khizar as a low-key victim. On Noor’s front, she has her boss who is flirting with her & Noor who claims that Khizar is her everything, didn’t bother sharing any details with him. For someone who has no one in her life, Noor surely is keeping Khizar distant. I really don’t understand the so-called deep conversations that both Noor & Khizar have because firstly, I didn’t see their relationship developing in such a setting & secondly, I don’t see any substance in their relationship either. How can Noor expect Khizar to understand her when she keeps her feelings or thoughts bottled up. They have just met so how can she expect him to know her in & out?

I found it amusing that Khizar got annoyed when Noor suggested that he should find a job. Also, it is funny that Khizar makes such tall claims where he wants to bring the entire world at Noor’s disposal, yet he is unaware of the basic fact that in order to do that, he needs a thing called money. Marina Khan’s scenes are such a joke, the way she said ‘suit yourself’ when Khizar was about to leave her house & now she talking about petty FB status update, is it a joke or what?

Anyways, the story of this drama is deteriorating & in stead of getting better, it is just going downhill. I think I will give this drama a couple of weeks more & if it fails to interest or entertain me then I will quit reviewing it. I am just not enjoying this drama & despite trying very hard, it is just not happening. Sigh! I was actually excited about Noor ul Ain but it turned out to be such a disappointment. Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 7 Review – Highs and Lows

Last week I was wondering why Woh Mera Dil Tha wasn’t airing at 8pm since it is a decent show which deserved a better slot and now quite ironically the show has been moved to the 10pm slot and from now on it will be airing on Fridays! This latest episode of Woh Mera Dil Tha focused entirely on the aftermath of the nikkah last week. This nikkah can easily be termed as the outcome of one of the biggest misunderstandings we have seen in our dramas! Even after everything that happened, Zaid hasn’t told his father the truth and Naina’s father has completely given up on her. Also, it is too late for explanations!

Things have gone from being lighthearted to extremely serious. Naina lost her parents and now has to live with a person she cannot even stand. Getting married to Naina can easily pass as Zaid’s worst nightmare come true especially because his father is going to make sure that he looks after Naina properly. There was already a lot of pressure on Zaid to find a job, now there isn’t only even more pressure on him but he doesn’t even have the option of working with his “best friend”. Sami Khan has been absolutely phenomenal as the careless young man who puts his comforts and interests before everything else! While Zaid is gutsy, his attitude tonight showed that he is incapable of feeling empathy since he was solely worried about himself. He didn’t even try to comfort Naina because he felt that he was just as much of a “victim” as she was!

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 7 Review - Highs and Lows

The only reason Zaid’s sister was all for this marriage was because she was hoping that she could also benefit from Naina’s wealth. Now that she knows Naina’s parents have disowned her she isn’t happy with the situation. Everyone’s reactions to this nikkah got plenty of screen time and some of these scenes were stretched too. The dialogues delivery of few of the supporting actors is too slow and few of them tend to go overboard, which is why it can be difficult sitting through their scenes. Zaid and Naina didn’t interact even once , they were like prisoners who were put in different cells!

After watching this episode, I feel for Naina and Zaid’s father more than anyone else. Even though Naina made a foolish decision but she had to pay a bigger price for it than she had ever imagined! This entire plan was Zaid’s idea, it was his way of getting himself out of trouble but it backfired therefore I feel he deserved this!! I don’t see Zaid turning into a responsible husband any time soon and it is difficult to imagine Naina playing the role of a submissive bahu or wife. Am I the only one who feels that Naina’s father over reacted and let his insecurities get the best of him?

Like every other episode of Woh Mera Dil Tha, this one too has its high and low moments but it definitely gave me a reason to tune into this play next week too. If this drama picks up pace, it will be more entertaining.

Mahira Khan Is Attending Cannes 2018!

Last year Mahira Khan became the first ever Pakistani ambassador of Loreal haircare. After the announcement, the first thing which everyone started speculating was whether Mahira is going to attend the Cannes 2018 or not? So the answer is YES! Mahira is attending Cannes Film Festival 2018 as the ambassador of Loreal haircare. She shared the news with a picture of Arnold:

Mahira Khan Is Attending Cannes 2018!

After Armeena Rana Khan and Adnan Siddiqui, Mahira Khan has become the third Pakistani artist to attend the festival. Mahira will be sharing the platform with many of Bollywood and Hollywood’s A-Listers and making her the first-ever star to represent Pakistan at such a huge level!

The Oh So Often Of Pakistani Dramas!

We are breaking stereotypes and with every passing day, we see new topics popping up in our dramas. But there is still a long way to go. There are many sequences which happen in nearly 90 percent of the ordinary dramas that do not really strike a chord and some are even repeated in the good ones. Here are some of the sequences that we see so often in our dramas that we end up predicting them before they even happen:

Susral Is Zaalim:

I actually have seen a lot of examples from real life where susral’s are nothing less than a scare house. And sadly the majority of the households in Pakistan have this problem with susral being extra Zalim for no reason at all. But imagine going through that kind of hell all day and then switching on a television and watch that all over again. Not a good idea if you ask me. Yes, it is a reality of this society but making 90 percent of shows on this topic alone is overkill. Not to forget it actually gives even more ideas to all those Zalim saases and nands out there to experiment more with their devil-gifted capabilities.

The Oh So Often Of Pakistani Dramas!

PYAAAARRRRRR:

The one and only…Pyaaaaarrrrr!!!! If you are shown as any person below 30 years of age, you are going to fall in love. Falling in love is not bad but when the whole purpose of your existence becomes Pyar, it is annoying. We witness every day 13 or 15 year olds on the streets behaving like some romantic saga’s lover boy and believe me, showing them people falling in love left and right. Going to their educational institutions so they can just get hold of some pretty counter-part is not helping. The flying dupattas and starry eyes make people cringe after a while. A whole chunk of our dramas has this underlying sequence with the leads dragging their audience for over 20 episodes so they can get married. Like marriage is a bed of roses with no responsibilities or changes right?

The Oh So Often Of Pakistani Dramas!

Characterless:

This topic is most of the times handled so immaturely that I have no words to describe it. They will show a girl who is known to be a great person by everybody being condemned for no reason at all. No one will be rational or even ask why is she being accused of such a big thing. And many times, our seedhi saadhi bechari heroines will not even defend themselves. They will just go with the flow. Like can you relate to a scenario where someone is calling you characterless and you are not bulldozing him or her down? But somehow our heroines always manage to pull it off. The best thing is no one will ask anything about this scenario once everything is over. Because since the hero is accepting the girl, all the drama gets fixed automatically. No need for clearance or apologies!

The Oh So Often Of Pakistani Dramas!

Bachay!:

It is so unbelievable that we have complete dramas dedicated to this topic. There are all kinds of stories with a whole bunch of people waiting for the khushkhabri. Easily calling the involved lady BANJH like that is not offensive or immoral. There are dramas where men have issues and sometimes people need children for legacy or to keep money in the family. If anyone has seen Mera Dard Na Jane Koi on HUM TV, you can relate to how painful can this be. The whole cast was revolving around having kids in every absurd way possible. The makers sometimes do not even realize that such things can be extremely painful for many people in real life. Main Maa Nahin Banna Chahti is the recent addition to this desperateness. AND!! There is a whole drama named BANJH!!

The Oh So Often Of Pakistani Dramas!

Ameer=Snobby And Ghareeb=Humble:

If you can lead a good life where you don’t have to worry about your meals, you are snobby. This is also a sequence we see in nearly all our dramas. The rich people are insensitive except the hero because the hero is always rich and always a good person.  The girls usually are from ghareeb households and their families will be humble and ready to sacrifice everything for their loved ones. Many times we see a balance is also shown but mostly the scenario is same with rich ladies not interested in their kids and always ready for parties while poor ladies focusing on good tarbiyat.

The Oh So Often Of Pakistani Dramas!

The Shortage Of Boys:

According to the recent consensus, Pakistan has more men than women but not in our drama universe. We all talk about sister rivalry but the root problem is the shortage of boys. There is always one boy who is a good husband material in the whole city leading to a lot of catfights among sisters, friends and sometimes between heroine and hero’s acquaintance who secretly loved him.

Zun Mureed Episode 10 Review – Convincing!

Tonight’s episode of Zun Mureed laid the foundations for one of the most important developments in the story which will probably be happening really soon. Zun Mureed’s script so far is convincing as well as relevant. The writer has logically shown the repercussions of Tabbasum’s decision to file a report against her husband from every possible angle. The drama has a steady pace and apart from showing some of the bitter realities of our society, it also has an inspiring protagonist who continues to fight her case against all odds. This recent episode had a lot of important developments and unlike the previous episodes, Nadia Khan’s acting tonight was up to the mark. Tabbasum’s character and her struggles are easy to relate to. The dialogues are exceptionally well-written and are the highlight of every episode. Most of these dialogues either represent a certain mindset or give hope to other women like Tabbasum. The writer has tactfully ensured that the women watching this play get fully acquainted with their rights since the line between what a husband can and can’t do is intentionally blurred in our society!

Sajjad finally thought long and hard about everything which transpired that day. He was also reminded of all those times when Tabbasum went out of her way to show how much she loved him and also those happy moments when they thought nothing could ever go wrong between them. These were my favorite scenes from this episode because they helped the viewers connect to Sajjad’s character and understand what was going on in his mind. Sajjad was still too angry to admit that he was wrong, every time he thought about what Tabbasum said and how she made him feel, instead of feeling guilty, he became even more upset. Sajjad continued to judge Tabbasum and failed to reflect upon his own actions. On the contrary, it looked like, he blamed Tabbasum for ruining their “perfect life” by taking this extreme step. Although, Sajjad is now willing to be flexible but he is not going to accept that he was wrong. His manliness won’t allow him to accept his mistake and as a result even if Tabbasum does come back, there will still be major differences between them. Omair Rana has done complete justice to his character. His solid performance makes it easier for the viewers to understand the character since Sajjad’s character is layered therefore only a solid performer could have brought it to life impeccably on screen and Omair Rana has done just that!

Zun Mureed Episode 10 Review - Convincing!

Tabbasum always knew that the road she had chosen to take won’t be an easy one but even then she didn’t expect everything to go this wrong. It is true that Tabbasum has a share in her parents’ house but her brother doesn’t want to hear about it. If he gives her the share which is rightfully hers, she won’t have to be dependent on anyone but in our society when sisters ask for their share, brothers most often get offended! Although, Tabbasum never asked for her share but even then her bhabhi managed to use this matter against her. The fact is that Tabbasum’s brother is not doing her a favor by letting her stay in this house. I absolutely love the way Tabbasum’s character has been etched-out, she is strong but she isn’t unreasonable or insensitive. Her character is positive and her dialogues are always meaningful. The phone call from the school principal was an important development in this episode, I am waiting to see what she has to say to Tabbasum.

Bi Jaan and Maryam’s conversation in this episode was disturbing! Unfortunately, there are plenty of such mother and sister in laws in our society who cannot see their brothers and sons happily married. The bahus are always treated as outsiders or lesser humans because they are seen as a threat! Shamim Hilali and Hina Bayat both have been performing really well throughout. I especially liked Shamim Hilali’s expressions today when she wrote on her white board. With the exception of few of the supporting actors, all the other performances tonight were right on point. With a better cast and production values, this drama could have been even more impactful and perhaps more enticing for some of the viewers too.

This was one of my favorite episodes of Zun Mureed. How many of you watched it? Don’t forget to share your thoughts about it.

Meesha Reveals Reason For Deleting Social Media!

It was a shock to everyone when recently Meesha Shafi deleted her Instagram and Facebook accounts. She did not cite a cause for it on her twitter either. They were simply gone. Meesha just gave an interview to the Images and revealed the reason behind this step.

Meesha Reveals Reason For Deleting Social Media!

When asked about deleting the accounts, she didn’t hold back and answered straight away:

They have been deactivated for very obvious reasons, one would think. The abuse, threats, bullying and slander that I have faced is the reason I felt the strong need to protect not just myself but my family, especially my two young children who were also being subjected to personal attacks online.

Meesha Reveals Reason For Deleting Social Media!

Well we know Meesha didn’t get much support from her colleagues either, she said that she knows that expecting that much from anyone would be a lot:

Believe me, I now know what it takes to speak the truth. And to expect the same from anyone would be expecting too much, it seems. The silence has been hurtful, no doubt. But I chose to stand up alone, and I’m not judging anyone.

Meesha Reveals Reason For Deleting Social Media!

She also pointed out that she has not PR team set up to counter rumours being spread about her:

I don’t pay heed to rumours. The slanderous campaign against me has set back the progress of women speaking up and speaking out by hundreds of years. I don’t have some PR mechanism to counter rumours with rumours, slander with slander, trolling with more trolling. All I have with me is the truth. And I believe the truth is a very powerful thing.

Meesha also told the publication that the whole case is now being handled by the law experts!

Court Stalls ‘Parwaaz Hai Junoon’ Trailer Release

Parwaaz Hai Junoon found itself amidst a legal battle last week when the wardrobe stylist Soomar Rehman sued the production house for not giving him credit for his work, in the latest teasers or any other promotional campaign for that matter.

As a result the court has restrained the release of any promotional content of the film. The case was filed against the production banner, MD Films on Friday, April 27 and the first hearing was held on Monday, April 30.

Court Stalls 'Parwaaz Hai Junoon' Trailer Release

In a latest interview Soomar said,

“The court has passed an order and stated that the production house is not allowed to release any upcoming teasers, trailers, posters or songs without mentioning my name, at least until the next hearing.”

He further said that he demands a public apology,

“I want MD productions to tender an unconditional written apology. Apart from that I would like to receive my due credit in the film. MD Productions has a record of misusing youngsters’ talent in films.”

The next hearing of the case will be on Monday, May 7th. Looks like there’s still time before any of the fans will be able to see the trailer of this much awaited project.

Have anything to add?

Meera Is Leaving Pakistan!

Meera is undoubtedly a star who has had a very successful run in the industry regardless of the reasons. She has remained relevant for years and years and we still see her at events as fresh as a daisy. Many rumours circulated last year about Meera getting married to some US based person. She did not reveal anything about him because of the fear of nazr e badd. There was also news that she is already married to Captain Naveed and only public announcement is remaining. Meera has now announced that she is leaving Pakistan and will be permanently settling somewhere else!

Meera Is Leaving Pakistan!

Don’t know if she is really settling somewhere else or not but we wish her all the luck in life and may she find happiness and peace wherever she goes!

Movie On Meera Jee’s Life?

Meera Jee has a very interesting personality. There is no doubt about that. Whether she worked on screen or not, she always remained in news. From going to Bollywood, bold scene, endless marriage rumours, Meera knows how to remain relevant. News has it that she might be getting a biopic.

Movie On Meera Jee's Life?

There is a film in works about the life of Meera Jee. It will be based on her rise to fame and how she became a star. The film will mark Saqib Malik’s debut as a film director. The film will be inspired by Meera’s life but it will not necessarily be a biopic. The cast includes Osman Khalid Butt, Ali Kazmi and Mawra Hocane. Meera herself will also be seen in the film.

This is surely going to be an interesting project. What are your thoughts on this? Share in the comments!

Haara Dil Episode 4 Review — Cradle To Grave

Another episode down and so am I, the drama is getting better with each episode. It not only highlights some important issues like social status hierarchy, old age pregnancy and toxic masculinity at the one time but also never loses the sight of the main plot that revolves around two young people and their love for each other. Some of the dialogues in this episode were really hardcore and hit you right where it hurts. Also I love how this drama has been edited, each scene so well calculated and timed nothing seems dragged at all.

So Arham is naturally shook after hearing this news and suggests an abortion like everyone else so far but Momina tells him that her father will never let that happen because it’s not just a baby it’s a baby boy a much awaited and much wished for son. A son who her father thinks is God’s miracle for him. Momina’s disappointment in herself and her father is becoming very clear with every episode. She is angry and lays awake at night wondering why she isn’t enough and that’s the last thing any parent wants their kid to think but it is what it is.

Moving on Shagufta finds Momina and Arham having this discussion and assures him that she wants her daughter to be happy more than anything but it’s not that simple she is also responsible for this unborn baby now. Arham eventually suggests that he should at least get a nikkah as soon as possible and asks his parents for it upon which Amtul throws her typical “aren’t you dying to marry that sorcerer” tantrum at him. Afaan is smarter than that and as soon as he finds Arham alone he asks him what’s the hurry and finds out that his friend is expecting a baby.

Afaan tries to knock some sense into his friend Abrar but to no avail, Abrar is just ecstatic to finally have a son everything else is of little consequence to him.

Haara Dil Episode 4 Review --- Cradle To Grave

This brings us to the second half of the episode where Amtul takes her daughter Areej to the same gynecologist as Shagufta’s and finds out about the pregnancy and like the toxic person that she has been portrayed to be she especially invites the entire Abrar family over for a dinner so she could reveal it in front of everyone since she doesn’t know that everyone else already knows.

Here we see some really clash of the titans level exchange of words, toxic and mean things are said on both sides. Abrar calls out Amtul for having the sick mentality of prying in other people’s lives while Amtul calls him out over his toxic masculinity and the need to have a son even at the price of social humiliation and his wife’s life. In no time the kids start talking too, where Arham asks Abeer to tone it down and stop disrespecting his mother which really makes Abeer lose her cool.

All this drama takes toll on Shagufta and she is taken to a hospital where she gives premature birth to a baby boy but dies doing that. Both Abeer and Momina are convinced it is their fahter’s and Amtul’s fault and naturally we expect some serious family issues in coming episodes. It won’t be easy for either of them to forgive their father or Amtul for killing their mother.

Will Momina and Arham be able to love each other even after all this, will they be ready to fight for this love even after all that went down, how will they stay true to this love in the face of all these adversaries is something we will find out together in the coming episodes of Haara Dil.

Do share how you thought today’s episode was.

Bela Pur Ki Dayan Episode 12 Review – Terrifying & Intriguing

Tonight’s episode focused on the past as well as the present. So far, everything that has been revealed about the back story shows that Aziz let his jealousy and greediness get the best of him. There is absolutely nothing good about his character in the past whereas it looks like the rest of the family was more than willing to accommodate each other. Aziz’s mother genuinely loved Neelo and every scene so far in which these two have shared screen suggests that Neelo felt the same way about her. Even Rehmat who appeared to be the aggressive one, doesn’t argue with his father when he decides to do a certain thing the way he wants. Even tonight, he did not argue with his father a lot and was willing to go along with whatever he had planned although that meant giving the house to Neelo and giving Aziz a portion of the land he had been looking after.

The director has done a brilliant job since he made sure that the actors who are playing all these characters in the back story have more or less the same feel as the characters in present day. Aziz was just as quite, mysterious and stubborn so many years back as he is now. When he wanted to move into this old house, no one in his family was happy with his decision yet he quietly did whatever he wanted to. Even now, we hardly see him sharing anything with his wife and children, perhaps because he isn’t very proud of what he did in the past. At the same time, he doesn’t feel guilty enough and was seen arguing with the dayan about why this house belonged to him. Umar Naru is superb as the young Rehmat and his overall demeanor is quite similar to that of Irfan Khoosat. Rehmat is weird in his own way but he is harmless! Well, so far these are the impressions which all these characters have given, the future might have a surprise in store!

Bela Pur Ki Dayan Episode 12 Review - Terrifying & Intriguing

Tonight, the viewers also found out why the dayan was after Wajdan. It was however really strange to see Rameez completely overlooking whatever she said about how she wanted to take revenge. Those lines about the dayan wanting to eat the kid were scary and very well written! Gainda pointed out that the dayan was only trying to scare them and wasn’t actually going to harm anyone which sounded like a comforting thought! All the scenes which showed how Neelo was trying to run things in that house were terrifying. These scenes suggest that Neelo isn’t as “merciful” as Gainda was predicting she is. Also, she threatened Aziz of dire consequences therefore it seems like she isn’t going to very “lenient” with this family. Even though Rameez is trying to figure this mystery out, somehow he doesn’t understand the gravity of the situation.

Bela Pur Ki Dayan Episode 12 Review - Terrifying & Intriguing

The suspense so far is nerve-racking as well as intriguing. The fact that it is impossible to predict what actually happened in the past and what is going to happen in the upcoming episodes, keeps you wondering and looking forward to more. It won’t be an overstatement to say that Bela Pur Ki Dayan is the only horror drama on Pakistani television till now which has a solid plot and the cinematography is amazing; best one we have seen on our TV screens. The only annoying aspect of watching all these wonderful plays on HUM is that they are uploaded online terribly late! If you don’t watch these dramas when they go on air, you might be waiting for them forever! I missed this episode when it went on air and ended up waiting for it for hours.

Amar Khan (The Dayan!) was the star of the show tonight. She nailed every single scene even though some of the scenes weren’t easy to translate on screen. Bela Pur Ki Dayan is a complete package for all those viewers out there who love mystery and horror. If you haven’t tuned into this play yet, you are missing out on an exciting drama which will keep you hooked.

How many of you watched tonight’s episode? Don’t forget to share your thoughts about it.

Pukaar Episode 13 – Review!

Ohkay so, this episode of Pukaar took the story forward but even in this episode, Sarang didn’t step inside Sultan’s house, which means we’d have to wait another week to see that happening. The pace of this drama is very very slow even though despite the story not being new, viewers are still tuning to it to see how Samra’s life will unfold, so I think they should speed things up now as along with the slow pace, everything has become quite monotonous!

Samra finally found out that her father was no more, thanks to Zulekha but then the poor soul had to go through so much of torture because she told the truth to Samra. One thing is for sure that there’s not going to be an end to Laali’s tyranny so I wish to see Samra standing upto her, now that she knows what she has lost & how they kept the truth from her. I wish Samra sets Laali straight too the way she is with Zamani & rightly so.

Sultan met Amna & apologized but then it is only because he has his sights on Sarang as he wants him as his successor to show the world & also further his agenda in politics. I am pretty sure Sultan faked his disease only to emotionally blackmail Sarang & Amna, because we have seen how cold-hearted as well as ambitious he is that he wanted to use Fahad’s death & through Samra wanted to turn it into an opportunity for his victory in the elections. Obviously when Sultan saw that Samra wasn’t interested he immediately contacted Sarang & played the father card. I don’t know what is with the Sultan Family servants that they all seem like such creeps, first Zamani & now Toqeer too. Good that Zulekha is the sane & the normal one in the lot though!

Well, Samra met Sarang & Amna & pleaded in front of them. Sarang who already knew Samra through her parents’ reference couldn’t help feeling bad for her. So looking forward to see how he will help & rescue her. I am glad that Amna also accompanied Sarang, because he will definitely help Samra through his mother. Please share your thoughts!

Cheers,

Visaal Episode 6 Review – Excellent!

Ohkay so, this episode of Visaal was very impressive because all the emotions were conveyed in a very convincing manner. Visaal is well & truly becoming my favorite drama & also the one that I have started looking forward to every week because I know I will not only have a good time but also because the drama has a proper story which is being told in a very nice manner!

Naheed did what she had decided but I liked that Pari didn’t beat around the bush & she quickly & clearly talked Taimur out of the misunderstanding he had about getting an invitation from her. It was good that Taimur also respected everything that Pari said & immediately decided to go back while still being apologetic for getting too excited without giving everything a second thought. Even though both Pari & Taimur had a clear cut conversation, the fact that they were locked inside the house was a reason enough for everyone to misconstrue to entire situation. No one thought of giving Pari benefit of the doubt because everyone was too busy believing what they saw in stead of thinking about getting to the crux of the situation to find out the reality.

Pari’s life turned upside down, everything just changed, her relationship with her father, her image, her reputation, each & everything was stained & there was no way for Pari to prove her innocence. Naheed felt guilty, she did, that is why she came back to unlock the door but it was too late. Naheed immediately realized that what she did was wrong but because she saw everyone’s wrath, she couldn’t even imagine speaking out the truth to let everyone know that Pari wasn’t guilty of anything wrong.

Naheed knew she made a mistake & that is why she not only cursed herself but she just couldn’t be at ease, both mentally & emotionally. Everything that Naheed’s mother said about Pari when Ghufran told her about the expected visit of Akram & his family went to show that despite wanting to, Naheed will have to stay quiet because she could see what her confession would do to her & her family!

I must say I really really like Molvi Ghufran’s character in this drama. He not only tried to rationalize Shabbir’s behavior, he also advocated Pari in front of everyone when they started making assumptions about her character. Even though Ghufran is a side character, I really like that the writer has made him rational, positive & worthy of the respect people extend towards him because of his demeanor & good character. Such a refreshing change seeing a religious character in a positive light.

It was not only Pari who was struggling, Shabbir was finding hard to come to terms with whatever happened as well. Even his trust on all the relationships shattered & that is why he had a lot of malign in his heart against Jumman Bua too, someone who has raised & taken care of Pari like her own child.

Taimur was being pressurized to put the entire blame on Shabbir & Pari to which he immediately said no but not sure if he will be able to hold his ground & not do what the authorities were demanding. Obviously, Taimur wouldn’t want a dent in his image or his career but he respected Pari enough as well to do as what he was being told to. I really hoped that after receiving a random meaningless phone call from Naheed before, at least Taimur had suspected her but he didn’t, at least I feel he didn’t have the reason to not think on those lines but he just ignored it completely. Well Akram arrived with his false family to leave an impression on Ghufran’s family, let’s see if he will be able to find out that Naheed is Ghufran’s daughter & not Pari?

Overall, this episode was excellent. Everything that happened & the way the entire scenario unfolded was brilliant. The director for sure is doing complete justice to the script & Hashim Nadeem has done it once again. All the actors are just in their element when it comes to acting & I love the overall chemistry between all of them, it makes them come across very real. Please share your thoughts.

Aangan Episode 27 Review – Fireworks!

Ohkay so, just like all the episodes of Aagan, this one was perfect too because it just had so much going on – from drama to emotions to comedy, everything rolled into one, making this episode quite loud & happening which I thoroughly enjoyed watching!

Sadaan brought Afrah home but then even though he mustered up a lot of courage, seeing the elders of his family especially Hajra made him tongue tied. Sadaan did what he was supposed to but then he didn’t get the chance to speak because everyone like a loud family that they are, blew things rightfully out of proportion. The best reaction came from Abba Jee who just by hook or by crook wanted to hold Allauddin responsible but despite his continuous attempts, failed to do so. I loved how in such a serious situation, Zaitoon & Abba Jee detracked & made it all about Allauddin for a brief moment.

Hajra’s reaction was totally expected. She continued to blame Afrah & her mother but later when Sajjad, Asim & Zahid explained the entire situation, she was even more hurt because now she learnt that it was not only Sadaan who shattered her trust, it was her husband as well as her brothers in law too. Abba Jee was also upset that they didn’t bother informing him, which I am sure he would’ve loved only to be able to be a part of Sadaan’s Nikkah!

Well, Laila & Rubina met Haseena & all the ladies left quite an impression on each other. I loved the way Laila gave Rubina some how-to-be-a-good-wife tips because she sympathized with Rubina whereas she had no idea that a few moments later, the truth will shake her ground.

I loved the way the misunderstanding was carried out where everyone was blaming everyone, Rubina pleaded her case whereas Hajra was looking for some support too. Laila tried to play the advocate too but all the men were clueless as to what was so upsetting for Rubina. That entire scene was hilarious as well as mind boggling because so much was being conveyed that too with perfect timing. Finally, Asim revealed the truth & Laila just couldn’t believe what she heard. The way everyone seemed shocked at Asim’s reaction basically highlighted the fact that they never ever imagined seeing Asim raising his voice at Laila. There’s obviously more to this marriage & there does seem like a solid reason behind it too but seeing Asim’s reaction does make me wonder what Haseena actually means to him that he couldn’t hear negative terms being associated with her? Haseena also hinted that may be both Asim & Zahid were doing heavy-lifting on someone’s behalf, let’s see what it is.

I loved how Faiza Iftikhar didn’t omit the comedy factor in such a serious situation because that is what made things enjoyable for me even when the screaming got a little out of control. I will say Uzma Hassan played her part phenomenally but Irsa Ghazal was loud, to an extent that I had to mute the TV for a while. Abba Jee calling Allauddin Dehshatgard & telling Zahid to stop his Khutba, Zaitoon saying ‘meri to puri tokri hi kharab hai’ made me laugh out loud. There were so many amazing dialogues that I feel I will need to watch this episode again to enjoy even more. Loved this episode & looking forward to more. Please share your thoughts.

Khasara Episode 4 – Review!

Ohkay so, this episode of Khasara was just average. There is nothing about this play that is exciting or interesting. All the characters in their individuality have been-there-seen-that written all over them that even now when we are getting to see them in a new setting, it still doesn’t feel new.

Sila came to Linta’s place with a lot of expectations but she kept on getting disappointed again & again. Sila assumed that Linta will jump with joy at her sight but when that didn’t happen, the series of Sila’s disappointment began from there onward. Moanis kept on reminding Sila that she shouldn’t expect too much as he could see that his wife was hurt but Sila like always didn’t pay heed to her what her husband was saying.

I just can not believe that after Linta caught Mohtasim red handed, she not only brought him home but was still married to him. Mohtassim continued to make a fool out of her & she kept on pleading her love to him? Initially, I did feel for Linta but now I don’t because she is responsible for putting herself in this situation so if her husband continues to cheat on her, she is also wrong for not doing anything about it. Linta thinks spying on her husband is enough but then what more evidence is she in search of? Now that she herself is an eye witness of Mohtassim’s disloyalty then I just don’t get why she was telling one of the employees to keep an eye on Mohtassim, only to later beg him for his love!

Mohtassim spent some time with Moanis & Sila & Sila couldn’t be happier but then again, she continued to complain about Linta not being over-joyed. In stead of finding Sila innocent, I found her annoying. Well, Sila & Mohtassim had a brief encounter which obviously made them uncomfortable, Sila backtracked but I am sure Mohtassim will take it forward.

Azhar & Areeba’s story is quite boring too. Also, I was quite disappointed to hear what Azhar said about Sila & how he compared Areeba with her. Their track seems forced & unnecessarily wrong, making me wonder if there is any normal relationship in this drama that will be depicted? Anyways, please share your thoughts.

Tabeer Episode 11 Review – Depressing!

Ohkay so, this was yet another depressing episode of Tabeer. I watched this entire episode with one question on my mind – why & one expression – what if! Things shouldn’t have turned out to be like this, they shouldn’t have, it is just too depressing.

Tabeer’s life already turned upside down when she lost her loving husband & now when she had to face another hardship which she never ever imagined, she just lost her sanity. I felt for Tabeer just so much, props to the entire team for portraying the emotions in such a convincing manner because while watching that entire scenario, I was actually feeling very low & depressed.

Tabeer I feel wasn’t truly wrong when she in that emotional & mental state blamed Fawad for whatever happened because she actually was taking care of his baby because of which she had to neglect her own baby. But then again, while all this was happening, I was still finding a reason justified enough to accept that why did Tabeer had to send her child away & when Daadi & Asma took his responsibility, why did they falter? Daadi seemed a bit too relaxed ever since she came back whereas she should have been extra cautious & over attentive towards Tabeer’s child knowing that he is without his mother so he needs extra love, care & attention.

Saniya’s scene seemed baseless. Fawad returned heart broken because he was actually hurt with what Tabeer said but I guess he should have understood that she was not in her right state of mind. The doctor seems to be on the loop pretty much. Just one call & he starts repeating the tape he has memorized about Fawad’s child.

Iqra Aziz did act really well in this episode, it was very realistic & very emotional. I so wish all these pests; Ajju, Rafaqat & Asma pay for what they did or intend to do. So don’t want them to get away with anything – like I want the writer to punish them & not just forget about them in the course of giving Tabeer a happy ending. The precap suggested an entry of another character, looks like things will get slow & dragged a bit from now on, let’s see. Please share your thoughts.
