Pakistani television is known for a severe shortage of content for younger audiences. We generally have dramas revolving around a damsel in distress daughter-in-law who gets abused for 40 episodes and then still decides to live in the same family which is shown to be a happy ending. We do not make any cartoons and animations for children and no content that could click with teenagers, especially young boys. But looks like Green Entertainment has decided to tackle this problem as they are all set to air a total teenage drama based on the life of college students. The drama is titled College Gate.
College Gate stars Zarrar Khan, Natalia Castillo Shahid, Khaqan Shahnawaz, Hina Chaudhry, Mamia Shajaffar, Shuja Asad, Washma Fatima, Nouman Kahout, and Asad Chaudhry. The drama looks intense and young dealing with the issues of the younger generation. Though it looks like it represents the problems of a certain class but it has the potential to attract a younger audience towards the television.
