Ohkay so, this was yet another happening episode of Kashf. So many important events unfolded in this episode & it had Danish Nawaz’s direction written all over it. The best part about the dramas directed by Danish Nawaz is that he always gives equal coverage & insights into the thought processes of all the characters, that is why even a single scene becomes so wholesome because everyone is contributing to it in one way or the other. Another aspect that makes Kashf such an interesting watch is that the writer has come up with a lot of characters, therefore when they are brought together, they complete the picture with each of them having different takes on life.

Important Developments

Rashida realized her mistake. It took her a long time to finally understand that whatever happened with Shumaila was in her best interest & Kashf in no way had anything to do with what Rashida thought was a misfortune for her daughter. Although she did try to rectify her mistake but it once again showed how shallow she was that she actually needed an evidence to believe Kashf & deem her as innocent. Writer Imran Nazeer has aptly shown how such concepts are hardwired into people where they immediately put others on such a pedestal giving them all the power & control over whatever comes their way, without even thinking for a second that this has nothing to do with them in the first place & whatever they are facing is the Divine Decree. Now that Rashida was left with no excuse to misjudge Kashf, she was convinced whereas when Wajdan as well as Shumaila tried to make her understand, she chose not to budge.

Kashf wasn’t surprised because she already knew this is what Rashida was going to do. The way Kashf already knows what’s in store for her makes me feel for her a lot because even when she comes across the things that she should actually be happy about, the thought of bitter realities awaiting her do not escape her mind. Kashf handing over the money to her mother was actually symbolic of how she already knew this is what she was going to do in the future, therefore she didn’t wait for the right time & started then & there.

The difference in Kashf’s behavior was evident in this episode, she was shattered & heart-broken, she was also trying to strengthen herself because she knew she had a never-ending journey waiting for her ahead. However, now she started speaking her heart out. She was still very subliminal about it, but at least it was kind of relieving to see that she was not trying to become a saint who was going to take whatever comes her way. Kashf is the victim of her circumstances, but there’s a difference that the writer has carefully established by showing that she is only accepting everything because through her dreams she has already seen there’s no escape, however she still tries to take charge of whatever’s in her might.

Imtiyaz continued to pester & intimidate his wife & his sister, which was in other way a pressure tactic that he was using on Kashf by showing her that she was now in control of whatever he’d do to them. Imtiyaz knows Kashf will never allow anything to happen to her family members, therefore she will oblige & do what he will ask her of. Kashf still had hope, she knows she can not run away from the fate that has been sealed for her, but she displayed some signs of hope when Wajdan’s parents came to ask for her proposal once again. Kashf sat there hoping things would change for the better but once again, her father did not disappoint her. Also, her sister Zoya has now started to prove to Kashf that the dream that she saw will be materialized, this is why Kashf just took a step back because she knew she was not capable of fighting fate, as well as her conniving sister Zoya.

Wajdan’s character has emerged out to be stronger than it first seemed like. He has proved time & again that he loves Kashf & will walk an extra mile to make her feel secure but sadly, he doesn’t know how hard it already is for Kashf because now her father is not going to let go of her. Wajdan decided to take the matters in his hands. The scene where Irum tried to convince Kashf of running away with Wajdan was one of the strongest scenes of this episode because Hira Mani’s performance was absolutely brilliant. She was clear in her portrayal of all the thoughts that were running through Kashf’s mind.

Matiullah & Ashi’s scene was another one of the strongest scenes in this episode. It was strong in terms of performances as well as the plans that were shared regarding Kashf. Ashi is protective of Kashf, at times even more than her mother. It makes sense because Dilshad has lived a one-dimensional life with no power or control over her life because of her dominating husband, however Ashi has experienced life bitterly & differently, therefore she feels it’s her duty to not only protect Kashf but also do what it takes to keep her safe. Ashi is the voice of reason in this house, this is why she doesn’t shy away from calling spade a spade & whenever she deems right, she gives it back to Imtiyaz as well as holds her mother responsible for her wrong decisions when it comes to her parenting. Ashi’s character is turning out to be very strong & she is definitely my favorite.

The writer has also shown how important it is for a woman to have an exposure & financial independence, obviously with men like Imtiyaz around, it is a constant battle that such strong & independent women have to fight but at least, they do get brownie points for not staying silent & letting the tyrants do as they wish. Ashi is definitely an obstacle in Imtiyaz’s plans but unfortunately with Kashf being so submissive, there’s not much that she can do!

Strongest Performances 

This episode was interesting with all the conversations sounding so real that as a viewer, I could actually feel the emotions of all the characters. Hira Mani continues to impress as Kashf. She has given such a phenomenal performance that she proves every step of the way that this character was made for her. Every expression, every emotion has been displayed with such clarity that the viewers find it very easy to relate to her. Junaid Khan has been very impressive as Wajdan too. The way he broke down after Kashf didn’t show up was very emotional. He showed how heart-broken he was. He is sincere but to see his sincerity not being reciprocated is taking a toll on him. With Ashi losing her job & Kashf seeing yet another dream, it is obvious that now all the financial burden will be on her & she will have no other option than to do what Imtiyaz has been asking her to. Waseem Abbas, Munazzah Arif, Hajra Khan & Saleem Mairaj – all of them have given measured performances. The actresses playing the roles of sisters are doing a great job too. All in all, Kashf is a well-thought out project where the writer & the director had a clear vision about it & they are doing what it takes to make it worthwhile. Ohkay so, this episode focused on how the responsibilities were being allocated to Kashf & she wasn’t surprised, or was she because she had seen it all & her father did not disappoint her. This entire episode yet again highlighted how Kashf was a dutiful daughter who couldn’t imagine going against her family because her dreams had already indicated that this is what her fate was going to be, she was just going with the flow.

Another Dream, Another Reality

Ashi Pupho’s character definitely has to be the strongest of the females of the family. She is not only opinionated but is someone who doesn’t mind taking charge of the situation, despite knowing that there’s not much that she can do. Ashi tries to rectify the situation but unfortunately, in the end Imtiyaz continues to be the decision maker who has assigned this duty to himself.

The episode began with an aged man coming to see Kashf for marriage with his daughter. This was something absolutely shocking for the entire family, however Kashf had this satisfaction because she knew Imtiyaz would call it off. The entire sequence where no one could decipher what Kashf was trying to say about her dream was phenomenal because it actually showed how she is on a different level & that even those who love her will find it difficult to understand her. My favorite moment of this entire episode was when Imtiyaz sent the suitor away & then Kashf turned to look at her father. Was it the first time she was seeing through her father or this did not shock her because this is what she expected from him.

A little more insight was given into Matiullah’s character but before that, the way they have introduced him being an abusive husband to Ashi has established the fact that he is a hypocrite; a two faced person who didn’t mind mistreating his wife but continued to sell religion & his carefully fabricated image in order to make the money. It was clear, for Matiullah, this is a business & now, Kashf was the perfect candidate to expand his business. The person who has informed Matiullah about Kashf was basically planted by him as a spy in Qari Sahab’s madrasa because this way, he would find out what Qari Sahad used to do & what was it in him that attracted more & more people to him. Matiullah proposed a deal to Imtiyaz & because he saw it as a profitable opportunity, he didn’t think twice.

The rest of the sequence which showed how Imtiyaz continued to allot one responsibility after another on Kashf was brilliantly done. It showed that now Imtiyaz was finally going to be his ideal self because he had hit the jackpot, whereas Kashf’s life, her dreams, every fragment of her imagination was falling apart, yet she stayed calm & composed because she knew, this is exactly what was in store for her. This is another reason why she doesn’t find Zoya’s antics & meanness hurtful because she exactly knows the reason why she behaves in such a way!

Wajdan & Ashi have the best interest of Kashf along with her mother but as Wajdan said, only if Kashf will give him an edge, he will do what it takes to make everything right. The conversation that Kashf & Wajdan had was well-written. Although Kashf is not going to go against her father, she knows exactly how she is going to protect herself. She has drawn a line & she will never ever let anyone cross it, at least this was one assurity that she gave to Wajdan.

Brilliant Episode

Hira Mani has always been a very strong performer & I have enjoyed watching her acting since Preet Na Kariyo days & it is commendable that even after doing so many projects, she continues to impress & showcase that she has so much to offer as a performer. Undoubtedly, no one else could’ve done justice to the character of Kashf like Hira Mani has done.

Waseem Abbas was the star of this episode; every minute expression, all the dialogues that he delivered showcased the kind of mentality he as a father & a husband possessed. This sort of flawless performance is already expected from an actor of Waseem Abbas’s stature, however the way he has embraced the character of Imtiyaz showed that he understood its psyche and enjoyed portraying it. The change in his body language after he sealed the deal proposed by Matiullah was so enjoyable to watch because like he said, he already had a clear picture in mind of how his life was going to change after the money would start pouring in; something that he was waiting for all his life. The rest of the actors especially Munazzah Arif & Hajra Khan also continued to impress. Junaid Khan has done a brilliant job as Wajdan.

The direction of this drama is crisp & the editing is flawless. Every scene ends at the right time & every frame completes a picture in a perfect manner. Kashf is continuing to be an impressive drama, let’s see how it goes. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Kashf.

Ohkay so, as much as I do understand that the writer here is trying to come up with a completely different & unpredictable ending for the drama as well as the character of Kashf, I can’t help but feel disappointed after watching the second last episode. These kinds of different & unexpected endings are good for the dramas where the characters have been through the defining moments of their lives but I guess now when the drama is ending, I don’t think there was anything of that sort that happened in Kashf’s life. For me, the biggest disappointment is the fact that eventually in a drama where there was a full potential of not turning protagonist into a bechari, the writer missed an opportunity & made sure that Kashf does come across as one. I so wish the writer had shown Kashf as a strong person at least doing something for ‘herself’ for a change.

Wajdan Turned Out To Be A Disappointment

This episode turned out to be a disappointment because the two nicest characters; Wajdan & Kashf suffered the most & were traumatized by the external influences in their lives. I am definitely not going to question what is going to happen to Wajdan because he himself decided to become such a rigid husband that he wanted to extend selective support to his wife, despite knowing that her hands were tied. At this point, it seems that all the promises Wajdan made to Kashf were false claims because he chose to give up on her when she needed him the most. Wajdan actually grew out of the love he had for Kashf & felt it was important to waste his energies in the matters that he couldn’t control. At this stage, instead of looking like a concerned husband, Wajdan ended up coming across as a rigid, unsupportive & stubborn husband who wanted his wife to dance to his tunes. Wajdan would’ve been able to live up to his promises if he had supported Kashf irrespective of what she was doing or being forced to do for her family.

Wajdan kept on whining about the fact that Kashf should’ve trusted him but he needed to realize that trust alone doesn’t bring home the groceries & also does not pay the bills. Also, while watching this episode, I was wondering why was it that when Wajdan’s father Fayyaz was alive, the family was doing so well financially? After Fayyaz’s death, Wajdan took over his father’s business so why was there such a massive decline in his earnings that he couldn’t even cover the bare minimum? Yes, he did waste a lot of time on Asthana, chasing after Kashf but when he eventually got his trophy wife, shouldn’t that have been enough of a driving force for him to do well & provide enough for Kashf, as well as giving her some extra amount so that she could take care of her family’s dire needs if necessary. Wajdan was probably one of my favorite characters but it is upsetting seeing what he has become. It is like Wajdan literally took a U-turn & instead of maturing with age, he became a lot more immature, especially after he got married because instead of understanding the gravity of the situation, he thought being an escapist was the right approach!

Kashf’s Journey Took The Turn For The Worse

Talking about Kashf’s character, I am once again disappointed because, throughout this journey, I kept on waiting for her to take a stand for herself. It is understandable that her family was not going to change & she probably couldn’t break free from these chains ever but she could’ve found a way. What I liked the most about her character at the beginning was that she never came across as a bechari. Despite the limited resources, she always believed in finding solutions. I am sure if the writer had worked on that aspect of her personality, he could’ve easily shown Kashf finding a way out for herself at least.

This was probably the only drama that absolutely had no place for the divorce but unfortunately, that had to happen & was yet another disappointing development. Also, I really don’t understand why did the writer choose this path for Kashf by showing that despite all of her niceness & all of her sacrifices, she had to be the one suffering the most. Obviously, her family is going to suffer & they deserve to for getting too comfortable with the wealth acquired through unlawful means but then why isn’t there any difference between Kashf & her family when eventually they all would be the ones suffering. I definitely feel it had to be shown that out of all the people, Kashf walked away scot-free because she made sacrifices, she never misguided people & didn’t take advantage of people’s vulnerabilities. In this case, Kashf should’ve been the one getting a clean chit but it seems she too got punished.

The Dream Predicting The End

While watching this episode, I had a feeling that maybe Kashf saw her own death, because right after her divorce, it kind of made a lot more sense that Kashf won’t survive & obviously the writer didn’t leave a way out for her because neither her family is going to change, nor Wajdan was going to be in her life anymore. Then I saw the promo & it kind of did suggest that maybe, in the end, Kashf will die & her family will be left with nothing & Imtiyaz will be begging for money. The more I think, as much as I do understand that this was probably the only realistic ending the writer could’ve thought of, I still feel Kashf didn’t deserve this because there had to be some reward in store for her for being so nice, kind, giving & selfless all the time. Another prediction that’s going to unfold is Wajdan’s mental condition. It will deteriorate & probably he will lose all his sanity.

Not The End That I Expected

The execution of this episode seemed quite choppy & once again felt like Danish Nawaz didn’t direct or probably had no say in the editing of this episode. Some of the scenes & situations lacked flow plus the scenes with the OST were prolonged that I actually felt like skipping a few seconds because the OST was too much to handle. Kashf’s family has been the worse but Wajdan’s mother is no less. I once again will say that I really liked the original Rashida who always supported her son & understood him the most but the new Rashida was full of herself & derived sadistic pleasure by seeing her son in pain. Rashida’s suggestion of Talaq to Kashf was so random & just so disgusting. Since I’m talking about all the disappointments, I would love to talk about Ashi, it was yet another poorly tackled character who had so much of potential but then turned out to be someone who just wanted money without taking any responsibility for it.

This episode definitely didn’t feel like a second last episode right from the moment it began & I think we can already expect a rushed & choppy ending with Kashf’s death left in store for the viewers. There was so much left to be covered like the mystery of the dream related to a woman named Hajra, then Ashi returning in a bad shape. It seems all of this will be conveniently ignored or left open for the viewer’s imagination. Anyway, I will say that this drama, on the whole, was really nice with some strong & powerful performances, some very good dialogues & a unique storyline but the kind of ending it is going to get isn’t too appealing. Hira Mani & Junaid Khan were once again the stars of this episode but unfortunately, Wajdan’s character & Kashf’s journey; both have turned out to be a disappointment. Ohkay so, this episode of Kashf was probably one of the slowest episodes of the drama that have aired so far. However, it was nice to see Kashf taking charge of the situation but then again, it’s a done deal that it is going to be an unfavorable situation for her in the future because this is not something that her husband wants her to do. Even at this point, it seems Kashf can never win & things are probably not going to change unless everyone around her changes, which is pretty unlikely. However, the fact that I as a viewer still want to see how Kashf’s life will unfold shows that there is still that engaging factor to this drama & he has made sure to keep it as interesting as possible.

No Other Option For Kashf

This time around, Matiullah has had an upper-hand & what more proof did he need when Imtiyaz himself pleaded his case in front of him. Matiullah has done everything he could to pressurize Kashf. It was interesting to note that the things Kashf’s family couldn’t force her to do, Matiullah ended up creating such circumstances where Kashf couldn’t say no. Right from the beginning of this episode, it was made clear that Kashf was dealt with so many problems & they all were pretty much related to the financial crunch her family members were faced with; be it her father, her mother, her aunt, or even her husband.

Kashf did all she could to put an end to this family business. She took a stand against what they all demanded or even expected from her. However, as the episode progressed, I liked that in the end, it was Kashf who took the decision. Although it is quite obvious that she did it for all of her family members, especially her husband but then, she knew what she was doing. It was unfortunate that Kashf was forced to backtrack from the promise she had made to Wajdan, however, soon enough she realized that she couldn’t be stern at this point. Wajdan is obviously going to give her a tough time when he will find out & it seems Zoya & Rashida will add fuel to the fire too but then, even after being aware of the entire situation, if Wajdan will give Kashf a hard-time, it will be his loss.

This episode shed a light on the fact that despite not wanting to, Kashf exactly knew that she had to do what it takes to support her family financially. She did the best she could to stick with her decision but because the pressure was mounting on her, she had to give up. In this entire equation, I find Ashi’s character disappointing. She was an independent, analytical & practical person, therefore for her to fall for her husband’s emotional blackmailing, especially when it is related to money is quite unlike her.

Time To Wrap It Up

Anyhow, this episode of Kashf was a bit too slow & I had a hard time paying attention to it. Things have now started to seem a bit monotonous but I am keen to see how Kashf will break free from all of this because deep down, she too doesn’t want to be a part of any Asthana. She wants to lead a normal life with her husband but right now, she has no other option. I now believe that they should start wrapping the story up because things have been going around in circles & it’s about time that they give a proper closure to everything & end the drama on a good note.

I must say, in this episode particularly, the lighting was totally off, which added a lot of age to the actors & they all didn’t look their usual best. Although in this episode, it was suggested that Imtiyaz was sweating due to nervousness, so it’s understandable but I really wanted to say that seeing sweaty actors/characters on screen is not appeasing because this is what I have been noticing for quite a few weeks now. I do understand that they all have shot this drama in peak summers but the actors should’ve taken care of the basics at least. Looking forward to the next episode but definitely not Wajdan’s tantrums. It seems Zoya & Rashida will have a ball brain feeding Wajdan against Kashf. Let’s see what happens next. Ohkay so, this episode of Kashf showed how the tables were being turned & everything was now going against Imtiyaz & his entire family. I think with this, it can be deduced that the story of Kashf has now started wrapping up & if that’s the case, I think it surely is the right decision taken by the team. As much as this entire story has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride, for the first time while watching the episode, I felt the rivalry between Matiullah & Imtiyaz has gotten a bit too stretched & I think it’s about time things move past this stage. However, it is totally understandable that Matiullah had to be the one responsible for Imtiyaz’s undoing, so at this point, it seems to be the requirement of the story but I’d be more than happy when Matiullah goes out of the picture!

Mounting Pressure on Kashf

This entire episode showed how each & every family member was putting pressure on Kashf. As much as things have become grave for the entire family, I liked that this gave Wajdan a chance to see all of them up close & understand their psyche because so far Wajdan was not fully aware of how Kashf’s family used to manipulate her. Although Wajdan had seen it all but the way he behaved with Kashf after their marriage made it evident that he actually didn’t truly understand how the pressure was mounted on Kashf every single day, every step of the way.

At least Kashf got to prove herself to Wajdan by saying no to Imtiyaz, Matiullah, Dilshad, Dadi & everyone else but then Wajdan started realizing that it wasn’t just a matter of simply refusing their consistent requests & demands because this issue was far more complicated than he understood. Wajdan got satisfied seeing that Kashf was ready to do what he expected from her but then, the way her family continued to pester her didn’t really stop either. I think all of it that unfolded right in front of Wajdan altered his perspective because he then got to see how unreasonable, selfish & irrational Kashf’s family could get.

Matiullah is definitely not going to stop & he proved it by literally taking it all away from Imtiyaz. I am glad that the writer touched upon this subject as well that it was an unlawfully & unethically acquired wealth that was taken away by Imtiyaz in a jiffy. More so, Kashf too understood that this was the price her father & family had to pay for literally making a fool out of people & their emotions. Kashf was sorted & this is the reason, as much as she felt sorry for Imtiyaz, she knew this is what he chose for himself. I really liked the interaction that Imtiyaz & Kashf had in front of Wajdan, because even then Wajdan got to see how Imtiyaz was not giving up on the idea of Asthana & still dreamt of getting all the money back by reopening the business.

The rest of the episode too went by showing how all of them have gotten used to the idea of luxuries & ease that they were pressurizing Kashf by literally guilt-tripping her. Ashi is getting manipulated by Aqmal & this is her way of saving her marriage. It seems that things might change, now that Kashf has stopped supporting the entire family financially. It is obvious that there’s no way that Ashi & Aqmal’s marriage will work, maybe Aqmal might have a change of heart but that seems highly unlikely considering how he is a devout follower of Matiullah. Also, this is totally random but I couldn’t help but notice how Dilshad was wiping her tears with her dupatta, I kind of smirked seeing that the woman who was so used to air conditioning & mineral water was now unable to afford a soft tissue for her face. Rashida’s character continues to be irrelevant & her taunting spree is not making much sense at all.

Phenomenal Performances

This episode of Kashf was definitely interesting but I really want to see Matiullah out of the picture. Saleem Mairaj has played this character phenomenally, which is why it is getting hard to tolerate Matiullah now. It seems it won’t be too long before Kashf will cave in & go against Wajdan. I feel even after seeing all that has happened & the things Kashf has heard from her family, if Wajdan still holds her responsible, then it would be wrong on his part. Junaid Khan has portrayed the character of Wajdan flawlessly as well. All of his emotions come through clearly & he has made it easier to understand what is running through Wajdan’s mind. Hira Mani too has given a flawless performance as Kashf, however, in some of the scenes she looked unkempt with her hair & makeup a bit too messy. It is good that she has tried her best to keep Kashf’s character realistic but at least looking messy is never the right look no matter how simple the overall look of a character is. Ohkay so, this episode of Kashf was quite happening. A lot of things were covered & one twist after another made it an intense & nail-biting experience. Props to the writer for still keeping so many surprises in store for the viewers. However, I really hope that after such an interesting & intense episode, the story continues to progress on such a note & does not become slow like it was in the last few episodes.

Kashf Finally Spoke Up

Although Wajdan started off coming across as an irrational husband, I liked the fact that it was his persistence that forced Kashf to speak up & take a stand for herself too. As much as she looks submissive & husband-pleaser at this stage, at least the positive outcome of all of this was that she understood saying no was also an option for her. I also liked how in this episode, I could see a glimpse of old Wajdan, who knew how to crack a joke in intense situations, had an easy-going lookout one everything & always saw a light at the end of a tunnel. This is what he continued to do throughout because he felt that Kashf was on the same page & that put his heart to ease.

At first, Wajdan seemed emotionally detached & selfish, but now, he was very much involved in Kashf’s life & was doing everything to change it for the better. He has made it clear that he does not want her to go back to Asthana & be Kashf Bibi, therefore it is justified that he kept on reminding Kashf that she has to put her foot down & stand her ground. Kashf also realizes that she has done enough but now her husband was her priority which was obviously not sitting well with her family, hence came the pressure.

Another interesting thing to note was that although Kashf & Wajdan have gotten married, Kashf didn’t just start living in some la-la land, she was very much in touch with the reality & also felt concerned about the dreams she had seen related to Zoya & Wajdan. As much as Wajdan tries to convince her, for her to feel uneasy is very much relatable because now Wajdan is the most important person in her life, therefore she can not imagine losing him, that too to her selfish sister. It also goes to show that this thing has become a mystery & it kind of makes the viewers curious to find out what will actually happen & what those dreams meant!

Ashi & Aqmal’s Equation

The scene where Ashi met Matiullah in her new house at her wedding night was so intense & gripping. All the actors in that scene performed brilliantly but Hajra Khan stole the show. She actually succeeded in showcasing Ashi’s disgust that she rightly felt for Matiullah because she of all the people has seen his real face, therefore she knows what a vile person he is. For Ashi, it definitely was difficult to accept the fact that her husband, whom she loved so much revered her ex-husband Matiullah. It was also made obvious that despite the resentment she felt for Aqmal, Ashi will continue to get exploited by him because she too has gotten used to the money that Kashf makes for the entire family, this is why she somewhat easily agreed to ask Kashf for financial help because Aqmal wanted to travel with his wife & make her happy on someone else’s money.

I thought that out of all the people, Ashi would disapprove of this because she has worked herself, therefore she knows how hard it becomes when people start relying on your money but she didn’t really pay heed to it. I think because her marriage is in the initial stages, it will be shown that she will do everything to make it work because she fears getting divorced again. She will definitely put up with emotional & mental abuse but there will come a time when she will run out of patience. Aqmal has all the germs in him of being a bad & insincere husband, he already has shown it but this is just the beginning. He even threatened Ashi, which goes to show that he is totally capable of assaulting Ashi & putting her through domestic abuse. He is just carrying a facade & putting up with Ashi’s tantrums because he has hope that she will continue to support him financially, but his mask will fall off the moment Ashi will stop getting financial help from her family.

Zoya Exposing Matiullah

Another interesting development was how Zoya backtracked & exposed Matiullah. Imtiyaz actually is far ahead of Matiullah & this is the reason, he has been able to outbid him every single time. This time around Imtiyaz tried his best to use this entire chaos to convince Kashf & bring her back to Asthana but when he saw that she was not budging, he decided to go ahead with Zoya & Matiullah’s Nikkah. However, it was pretty obvious that they all knew how Matiullah was trying to use Zoya but Imtiyaz just wanted Zoya to confess in front of everyone.

The way Imtiyaz continued to pressurize Kashf throughout the episode showed that he was not going to leave her alone. When he got done with Imtiyaz & Zoya, he decided to put Kashf on a house-arrest thinking this will convince her to say yes. Also, it is hard to understand how & why they are relating everything to Kashf attending Asthana. Even this time around, Imtiyaz made it look like because Kashf stopped attending Asthana, Imtiyaz & Zoya transpired this plan. In the preview of the next episode, after Imtiyaz’s arrest, Dilshad will also blame Kashf that because she didn’t go to Asthana, Imtiyaz has gone to jail? This is something that wasn’t too convincing & wasn’t linked properly because these are two different issues that Imtiyaz is faced with; one being Kashf’s refusal & the other one being Maitullah & Zoya’s joint planning to split Kashf & Wajdan.

Brilliantly Directed Episode

After quite a few weeks, this episode of Kashf was very interesting & seemed like it was taking too long to end because there was so much happening & I say that in a good way. All the actors by now have completely embraced their characters & therefore have been performing phenomenally. The only actor & character that looks out of place is Wajdan’s mother. The things she said to Kashf regarding her aloofness towards her family made absolutely no sense & I couldn’t but feel that the actual character of Wajdan’s mother played by Lubna Aslam would’ve never ever said such things to Kashf, because for her, her son’s happiness mattered the most. It is actually sad that one of the best characters of the dramas has turned into a caricature because of unavoidable circumstances.

Anyhow, It is interesting to note that even at this stage, the viewers can anticipate a lot of twists & turns, which makes one look forward to the rest of the episodes. This episode was definitely directed well & showed the true essence & vision with which it was taken forward by Danish Nawaz. Please share your thoughts about this amazing episode of Kashf.

Ohkay so, this episode covered some more affairs of Kashf’s family. They have been a constant part of the story & indeed, their tracks have been tackled nicely because they do keep the viewers engaged as they have a direct effect on Kashf’s life as well. However, the way things are turning out to be between Kashf & Wajdan is disappointing so say the least. While watching this episode, I was wondering how nice it would’ve been if they had shown him as a supportive husband who actually brought his wife out of the misery instead of inflicting some more of it on her!

Wajdan’s Tantrums

This entire episode was dedicated to Wajdan’s undue tantrums. I really have a hard time understanding why Wajdan was behaving irrationally with Kashf. The way Wajdan dealt with her made it look like almost as if he got married to a complete stranger & had absolutely no idea what her life or family dynamics have been like. For him to know how Kashf’s hands were tied & still react in such a way makes him look like a bad bad husband.

Wajdan was a very promising & probably one of the best characters of the drama, therefore to see him turning into a typical husband who failed to appreciate Kashf’s presence in his life was hard to accept. All of this makes Wajdan seem irrational & unreasonable because we have seen how keen he was to get married to her & how he fought so hard, but now it seems it won’t take him long before he’ll start regretting his decision of marrying her. I wonder if he had to become such a typical & unforgiving husband, why did he waste so much of his energy to chase after Kashf, he could’ve easily married a girl like Zoya who was smitten by him & would’ve done everything that he’d have expected from her.

Kashf struggled to prove herself to Wajdan repeatedly, it was painful to see her trying to explain herself regarding all the things that Wajdan wasn’t oblivious to. The things both Rashida & Wajdan said to Kashf once again made it look like they had absolutely no idea how things rolled in Kashf’s family & that they were new to all of what her family was putting them through. Also, I found it absolutely ridiculous that Wajdan wanted Kashf to stay in Murree for some more time, it was almost as if he was hiding with her there. I assume Wajdan wasn’t so thick-headed to not know that ‘honeymoon’ does come to an end & he had just gone there to visit. It wasn’t as if he moved there with a job & new home for Kashf because if then Kashf had demanded going back, his tantrums & irritation would’ve made much more sense.

Wajdan actually thought he had all the reasons to be mad at Kashf now that she was his wife? Instead, this was the time for him to show her more support because even he knew that her family was using pressure tactics to make her join Asthana again. The complete flip & shift in Wajdan’s behavior towards his wife is distasteful & it seems there’s going to be more of that in the upcoming episodes. The dream that Kashf had about Wajdan where she saw him almost not in his senses now probably seems will get materialized, although it could be symbolic, but the way he is behaving, literally draining himself trying to control things that are beyond his control does make it look like he won’t be able to put up with all of this for too long!

Imtiyaz exactly knows what Matiullah is trying to do. He truly is a selfish father because only to get Kashf back to work, he didn’t mind sacrificing Zoya & ruining her entire life, that too knowing the kind of person Matiullah is. The moment Imtiyaz heard the conversation between Matiullah & Kashf, he decided to take it a step further only to make her feel this was all happening because of her. Kashf already is feeling burdened but Imtiyaz continues to push her. Even after seeing all of this, for Wajdan to still hold Kashf responsible for being too worried or concerned about her sister’s well being is irrational. However, I am glad that Zoya’s plotting came back to bite her, she absolutely didn’t expect that Imtiyaz will agree to this marriage but surprise surprise, he ended up proving it to her that he was her father & one should expect the unexpected from Imtiyaz!

Ashi & Aqmal got married & sadly it’s going to be yet another bad experience for her, but I am hoping that after seeing her niceness & love, he might change. For Matiullah to remind him to not turn his back after the wedding did hint that he too saw a possibility of it happening. However, even if Aqmal will cut ties with Matiullah, the fact will still remain that he decided to get married only to enjoy mooching off of Ashi because he would like to lead a comfortable life. For Imtiyaz to not find out about Aqmal & Matiullah equation seems convincing, because so far Imtiyaz has been quite far-sighted & has probably outbid Matiullah quite a few times, therefore it makes much sense that he really didn’t find out about this one because that would make everything quite one-sided & unrealistic. This is exactly why it will hurt them the most because they all wouldn’t have expected Aqmal to be a stooge of Matiullah as well.

Phenomenal Performances

This episode definitely was interesting & once again it felt that after a couple of poorly executed episodes, this one was directed by Danish Nawaz himself. The scenes were concise & to the point. However, it does look like in most of the scenes, Samina Ahmed has been edited in to make her look like a part of the family, but then it kind of takes away from the flow of the episode. Saleem Mairaj, Sabeena Farooq, Waseem Abbas, Hira Mani, Junaid Khan & Hajra Khan have performed phenomenally. They all have breathed life into these characters but I am actually quite upset that one of my favorite characters took such a bad turn & now seems like a completely new person. Hoping to see Wajdan behaving rationally. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Kashf.

Ohkay so, as much as I like watching Kashf because I am totally invested in the story, I can totally see it getting dragged in the future episodes because even in the previous few, there has been an addition of a lot of scenes which clearly are fillers and seem unnecessarily prolonged. I think it would’ve been a good decision if they had kept it to the point because the drama already was doing really well & was keeping the interest of the viewers alive.

Kashf’s Struggles

This episode focused entirely on how Wajdan was getting annoyed & irritated by Kashf’s identity as Kashf Bibi. It was sad seeing Kashf struggling to make him understand that her hands are tied. As much as Kashf wants to quit this work, she has no other option because she feels for her parents. She is helpless when it comes to seeing these realistic dreams, therefore to see Wajdan holding her responsible, almost as if she was a culprit was wrong.

The Wajdan that we all saw as a love-stricken yet a sensible man who was ready to face any obstacle in order to be with Kashf was far better than this married Wajdan who has already started taunting Kashf for not obliging. Wajdan needs to understand that Kashf’s family is not going to leave her alone just so easily, she has her commitments & just like how it took him a lot of time to finally get married to her, he should actually give it some time too. For him to expect that things will change overnight is absolutely wrong thinking on Wajdan’s part. Kashf is yet again torn between her husband & her father but I honestly loved it when she spoke her heart out & told him exactly that neither her father nor her husband was trying to rationally understand or realize what they were putting her through.

Zoya & Matiullah are definitely a perfect match. They both are ready to destroy their own lives, as well as the lives of those who are associated with them. To be honest, I never really thought that Imtiyaz would easily approve of this, therefore it came as a shock when he started thinking on those lines. Imtiyaz knows that Zoya is after Wajdan & Kashf, plus he too wants her back & wants to pressurize her as much as he can, so for him, this was a golden opportunity.

The dreams that Kashf is seeing about Hajra are definitely interesting. This is what I like about the story that even after so many episodes, there’s still a surprise element to it. It does look like the dreams Kashf has seen about her family & Hajra are not going to be related to each other in real life, but let’s see. In the initial phase of the drama, I thought if there’s one person who is analytical, it was Ashi but now she is not thinking things through & is letting her emotions cloud her judgment about Aqmal. She is ready to walk the extra mile to comfort him but it would’ve been better if she had at least contemplated whether his intentions are pure or not.

Great Performances

This episode of Kashf was good but then it is becoming quite obvious that a lot of scenes are being added to drag the story & push the episode numbers. All the actors continue to impress with their performances. Hira Mani & Junaid Khan definitely have great chemistry & it is always a treat watching their scenes, but I was hoping their happy phase had lasted longer with Wajdan’s ego not ruining their healthy relationship. Ohkay so, this episode of Kashf was interesting in bits & pieces. The overall episode was slow with a few repetitive scenes. However, it was nice to see Wajdan & Kashf together, having a good time away from their family members & also their responsibilities. I think the pace of Kashf has slowed down but because the story is unique & had such a strong start, it still makes me look forward to it every week, hoping that there are going to be some substantial developments, but nonetheless, the story is still making progress, which is good!

Kashf Is Torn Between Wajdan & Imtiyaz

Kashf is definitely having a hard time adjusting to the new life. She is not used to being this free & also the kind of royal treatment that she was receiving from Wajdan. In the beginning, it was nice to see Wajdan walking the extra mile for Kashf to make sure she was happy & felt less burdened but as the episode progressed, it became a bit more clear that Kashf was far from being free. Wajdan’s intentions are good & he only wants what’s best for Kashf but once again, Kashf is being forced to do things that she doesn’t want to, like giving up completely on her dreams & Asthana. Wajdan assumes that Kashf is still that girl who in the initial stages felt overwhelmed by the responsibilities she was made to take charge of when Imtiyaz opened up the Asthana but he has yet to learn that Kashf has more or less accepted that as her fate & it has now become a part of her personality & life.

Yes, Kashf herself has told him time & again that she feels uneasy & all of this is emotionally taxing on her, this is why Wajdan too isn’t wrong in feeling this way but it is obvious that they both will have certain issues because of Asthana where Kashf would want to go every now & then & Wajdan will completely forbid her from doing so. This to be honest was the only interesting development in the entire episode & the light-hearted moments that they shared were beautifully shown as well. Wajdan & Kashf are completely in love with Wajdan making sure Kashf forgets where she came from, who she was before getting married to him & what she used to do but for Kashf, it’s a bit too much to expect from & Wajdan definitely will have a hard time understanding that. Also, the couple they met in Murree was a gentle reminder to Wajdan about the impact Kashf has in people’s lives, where she is revered & has formed an identity which he can not take away from her.

It was actually saddening to see Imtiyaz literally harassing Wajdan to bring Kashf back. It goes to show how selfish Kashf’s entire family has become, but then it was nice to see Dilshad telling Imtiyaz to calm down & wait for them to come back because it wasn’t like they had gone for good. The entire scene where Imtiyaz arranged a meeting with all the clients & telling them that Kashf will attend them over the phone seemed unnecessary. However, the dream that Kashf has seen about a girl named Hajra goes to show that it is somehow going to affect her entire family. To see Imtiyaz crying in a dream definitely meant it is going to be a big deal because it takes a mountain to move a cold-hearted & selfish person like him!

Matiullah proposed marriage to Zoya. I think this is going to be her undoing. As much as I wanted Zoya to pay for what she has done, she definitely doesn’t deserve this but then again, it’s going to be her call. Matiullah is obviously trapping her & anything can be expected from a person like Zoya who lets her emotions get the better of her. I must say, Matiullah & Zoya are a perfect match because they both are equally shrewd & conniving. I do hope after she is done for, she doesn’t come to become a liability on Kashf because she has already suffered enough at Zoya’s hands!

Kashf Will Be Misunderstood

This episode of Kashf was definitely nice with some light-hearted moments shared by Wajdan & Kashf. The preview definitely shows they both aren’t too far away from the reality hitting them that back in Karachi, a lot of responsibilities await, which are eventually going to take a toll on their relationship. It is quite obvious that Kashf will be torn between her husband & her father, with both of them trying to steer the course of her life & she will end up paying the price for wanting to please them both. In the end, it seems Kashf will be misconstrued & no one will give her a leeway to just be & take her own decisions. It is obvious that she wants to attend the Asthana & doesn’t want to leave her family in the lurch because she feels for them but Wajdan is not allowing her at all. Hira Mani & Junaid Khan’s chemistry throughout the episode was brilliant, they both definitely make a beautiful on-screen couple & their screen presence together is undeniable. Ohkay so, the execution of this episode of Kashf was definitely different than the previous ones. The scenes seemed unnecessarily prolonged & there was a lot of focus on the minute details which could’ve been skipped. The entire time it seemed a lot of scenes were dragged & used as fillers. Probably for the first time, I also found quite a few glitches which made me wonder what went wrong because this episode, in particular, didn’t seem to have been directed by Danish Nawaz himself. Having said that, I will say that I really liked watching Kashf & Wajdan’s marriage & the scenes that followed because that definitely was the best part of this episode.

Executional Errors

In the previous episode, Rashida herself contacted Imtiyaz & told him to consider Kashf & Wajdan’s marriage because she found that to be the only answer to all of their problems. Therefore seeing her meltdown didn’t really make much sense. I honestly feel the change of actor, unfortunately, has compromised upon the overall personality of the character. The Rashida that I knew was always supportive of her son, she had a lot of character & was never the ‘bechari’ types no matter how tough or difficult the circumstances were. I feel Asma Abbas has treated the character of Rashida as a bechari who has nothing under her control but the way Lubna Aslam played it, she really would’ve pulled it off gracefully & with a lot more dignity even at this stage of her life when even the roof over her head wasn’t her own. I couldn’t help but think how beautifully Lubna Aslam fitted this character & I actually imagined all the expressions or even a few befitting replies she would’ve given when Dilshad was being dramatic & extra!

Rashia herself was the one who wanted Wajdan to settle down with Kashf & after she realized that all the dreams that Kashf sees are true, she developed this immense respect for her, therefore for her to now mourn over the fact that her son got married to the girl she opposed all her life didn’t really make sense. In my opinion, the entire conversation that Rashida had with Wajdan was so unlike Rashida. Yes, she did like Zoya & has all the reasons to despise Kashf because if it wasn’t for her, she wouldn’t have lost the ownership of her house but still to make it look like she never once liked Kashf was untrue & actually quite unconvincing. I am glad though that Wajdan didn’t let any of it put him or his spirit down & in fact, he continued to make his mother realize that she should be rational about it & accept it wholeheartedly.

I really wish that out of all the people, Zoya’s curses do not come to harm Kashf because she should be the last person whose prayers related to Wajdan should be answered. Kashf has done enough for the entire family, therefore none of them should be in the position or given the power to utter such gibberish that will come to haunt her or Wajdan in their marital lives. Not that Kashf had any doubts but I am glad she got to hear the conversation that Imtiyaz & Zoya had, at least she will not have any misapprehensions to believe that her family loves her or respects her. This way she will get to be fully committed to Wajdan emotionally & mentally because he will get to be her priority.

At the wedding function, I was surprised to see Irum because she was nowhere to be seen at the Nikkah which took place a day before. Also, at the time of Kashf & Wajdan’s Rukhsati, I didn’t really understand when & how Zoya was able to peek through because it was implied that she chose to stay at home whereas Imtiyaz had arranged a grand venue for the wedding function & that’s where Kashf’s Rukhsati took place. All the scenes covering the wedding functions were prolonged with a few not-so-needed dialogues but then on a personal note, I liked a few shots here & there because they reminded me of the weddings in Pakistan.

I feel Aqmal will continue to listen to Matiullah but he himself has assessed the situation & has realized that getting married to Ashi will benefit him a lot financially, therefore he might go against Matiullah for his selfish reasons. He definitely is going to exploit Ashi. This entire scenario showcased how wealth ends up attracting a lot of negative attention because, in the end, everyone wants to enjoy their undue share of it which they feel they are entitled to. Ashi is being emotional & because she desperately wants to get married, she is blindly trusting Aqmal, which makes me feel for her. Ashi has already been through an abusive relationship, therefore she doesn’t deserve another insincere person to be in her life.

Best Part of The Episode

I must say, I absolutely loved all the scenes that covered Wajdan & Kashf’s life as a married couple. I really don’t remember seeing a couple offering prayers in any drama & it was such a beautiful moment shared by the two. Also, Kashf & Wajdan having a cup of tea after a long day as a newly wedded couple was super sweet. This definitely was the best part of the episode & made me smile because of how realistically everything was portrayed that Wajdan & Kashf were just simply happy. Although Kashf does feel burdened by the dreams that she has seen related to Zoya & Wajdan then she should also remind herself of the times she was able to save her Khala as well as Irum by telling them what could go wrong. It actually means that some of her dreams are just an indication & if she assesses the situation properly, she can prevent certain things from happening, like preventing her Khala from boarding the flight & Irum from getting married to Babar.

I must say, in the scenes where Kashf & Wajdan faced Kashf’s family, Hira Mani & Junaid Khan’s expressions were phenomenal. They both flawlessly portrayed the awkwardness of the newly wedded couple who knew how the rest of the family members were unhappy. When Imtiyaz walked away after hearing about Wajdan’s plans for honeymoon & they both looked at him awkwardly showed how they both had a grip over their characters because, in reality, their family members were being rude & inconsiderate. All the things that Imtiyaz said to her made me feel uneasy, it seems in order to get Kashf to get back to work, he won’t mind using Zoya as bait because he might threaten her saying that he might get Wajdan forcefully married to Zoya. Dilshad – well the less said the better!

Interesting Despite The Flaws

This episode definitely had some very good scenes to its credit but the execution of the first half in fact most of the episode was quite off. There were a lot of filler scenes but still, they worked at some point & didn’t as well. Waseem Abbas continues to impress. I must say I have never spoken about the actor playing the role of Shehbaz but in this episode, I couldn’t help but notice how amazingly he has acted as well. His expressions were perfect & dialogue delivery effortless as well. Hira Mani & Junaid Khan make a beautiful on-screen couple & their chemistry is amazing. I loved how cute they both looked in those scenes where they were just by themselves, enjoying each other’s company after their marriage.

Sabeena Farooq looked absolutely beautiful in this episode, especially in the scenes where she was wearing next to no makeup, she should definitely keep this in mind & try to use as minimal makeup as possible because she naturally looks very pretty on screen. Despite all the evil things Zoya said, I couldn’t help but notice how beautiful she looked. This episode definitely ended on an ambiguous note with Imtiyaz threatening Kashf in such a manner, however, it was nice to see Dilshad having this much courtesy that she consoled Kashf for once. Ohkay so, what sets Kashf apart & makes it intriguing storytelling is that there are always twists & turns which take the viewers by surprise. I feel the way the writer has used the dreams to sort of giving hints plays a major part in allowing these little surprises to work even more. It’s a known fact that Kashf’s dreams are always materialized & when that doesn’t happen in some cases, it makes it a lot more interesting. I feel it’s a rarity when even after so many episodes, the drama-makers have kept a few surprises in store for those viewers who are invested in Kashf. I am glad that after a few slow & stagnant episodes, the story is taking a new turn.

Plan of Action

The opening scene of the episode was heart-wrenching because it sealed the deal that the only person Kashf thought would always support her ended up turning against her. I have said this before but I will say it again, the flip in Dilshad’s attitude makes her the worst parent. I actually thought that she may invest some time in figuring out what Kashf wanted to say but she refused to even listen to her daughter who has done so much for her. It was ironic that even after all that Kashf has done, she was being taunted & the thing that was used against her was all of her sacrifices. At that point, it was a done deal that Kashf actually was all alone & there was absolutely no one who was ever going to side with her.

Imtiyaz & the rest of the family members were in a bit of a fix because they knew things were getting out of hand & Asthana thrived & relied heavily on Kashf’s reputation & image. At that point, it seemed maybe Imtiyaz will get Wajdan married to Zoya in desperation because he would want people to not link Wajdan’s name to Kashfs but I felt relieved when that did not happen. I absolutely loved the way it was shown that no matter what transpires if your intent is pure, things eventually end up being in your favor. After all that Zoya did, the odds were in her favor & she was at the verge of getting married to Wajdan as Kashf had given up on the idea of their marriage but it was purely because of Wajdan’s sincerity that he made it happen & turned the luck in his favor.

The decision that Imtiyaz took was well-thought-out. He has already seen that no matter what he says or does, Wajdan always obliges & he will never stand in the way of Kashf & Asthana, this is why he decided to get the two married. Although Imtiyaz did Wajdan & Kashf a favor, it was only because this was the only option he saw was going to work & hit the bullseye. I must say, the way Imtiyaz approaches everything makes the rivalry between him & Matiullah quite interesting. I actually enjoy watching Imtiyaz outbidding Matiullah. Although Imtiyaz is mean & selfish, at least he is honest when it comes to his business. He never once wanted Matiullah to run out of business, all he did was open up an Asthana of his own which affected Matiullah’s earnings. In this entire scenario, Matiullah is definitely wrong because he is trying to bring Kashf down but then again, it’s all about the intent. Zoya & Matiullah lost this battle because their intentions weren’t pure to begin with.

When Wajdan & Kashf were getting married, I was actually scared that this might end up being a dream, or if not, it might end up on a bad note but fortunately, they signed the papers & officialized their relationship. However, the preview of the next episode suggests that Matiullah & Zoya are going to try their luck again for the last time but I really hope, Kashf & Wajdan withstand this last obstacle that is going to come their way.

I absolutely loved the Nikkah scene & the conversation of Wajdan & Kashf, their relationship is beautiful & the feelings they have for each other are absolutely sweet. Finally, for the first time, Kashf was happy. She also got to experience what being happy felt like. She of all the people deserves it the most but sadly, I have a bad feeling about what might happen before Wajdan & Kashf’s Rukhsati.

Phenomenal Performances

This episode was brilliantly executed, but because of the way things escalated, no one imagined that Kashf & Wajdan will eventually get married. I really hope that all the dreams Kashf has had about Wajdan & Zoya’s marriage do not haunt her. I am eagerly waiting to see the next episode because now when Kashf has finally gotten married, it would be heart-breaking to see her facing something grave that will drift her & Wajdan apart – especially when they are just about to be together & have actually gotten married. Hira Mani looked beautiful in a simple look & that shade of purple complimented her a lot. She looked like a bride from the olden era, absolutely simple but looking beautiful because of their glow & simplicity.

I must say, Munazzah Arif has been phenomenal as Dilshad, the shift in the behavior of the character that she has shown is commendable. She actually makes me resent the character of Dilshad. It seems Ashi is also following her footsteps because she too was calculating the profit & loss related to Asthana. Hajra Khan is another convincing actor in Kashf. Waseem Abbas, Hira Mani & Junaid Khan are carrying the drama on their shoulders. Sabeena Farooq has been phenomenal as Zoya & she really has the potential to elevate the level of any drama with her performance. Direction, writing & production value of Kashf remains top-notch. Ohkay so, after a few monotonous ones, this episode of Kashf was intense & quite gripping. I must say I really liked the pace with which everything progressed in this particular episode because the dream that Kashf saw had me thinking & then eventually everything started unfolding which gave a clear picture. I like how certain things can be deciphered whereas there are also some which the writer uses to surprise the viewers. Whatever happened in this episode was foreshadowed at the beginning but to see it unfold in real was actually quite interesting.

Shocking Developments

Kashf saw Zoya throwing dirt on her clothes. This particular dream was pretty clear that she was going to tarnish her reputation & just when I was thinking about it deeply, I could totally see everything moving in that direction which was further going to elaborate what this dream meant. It is probably for the first time Zoya openly said that she wanted to get married to Wajdan. She knows she has played her cards well, therefore she has Rashida’s support. Rashida was on good terms with Kashf but she too has her reasons to turn against her, because she can see that her relationship with Wajdan has cost them their home. The home that her deceased husband built for his small family with love & affection.

I couldn’t help but think how much I like Wajdan’s character, especially because of the fact that he is clear on his thoughts. I find such characters to be refreshing who do not beat around the bush & just convey what’s on their mind right then & there. Wajdan understands that Zoya wants to get married to him but he knew he had to honestly tell her off. All the things that Wajdan said to Zoya actually made me happy. Out of all the people, he knows & understands what Kashf’s going through, therefore he knew he had to give a reality check to Zoya concerning her loyalties. At this stage, I feel Zoya is incapable of loving anyone. She just wants to snatch Wajdan away from Kashf & she thinks it will be her win but after she will get what she wants, she will not be able to value it as much as she values it now. At the beginning of the episode, I also felt the dream that Kashf saw must also mean that Zoya will let her down, in a sense that Kashf will get her married to Wajdan but Zoya won’t be able to nurture this relationship. Let’s see!

It was nice to see Irum being so happy & satisfied with how her life shaped up. It makes me think that in the same dream, Kashf also saw Ashi coming back & crying. I thought maybe the way Shehbaz recorded Babar’s video, he’ll do the same with Aqmal but that hasn’t happened yet. Not sure what’s in store for Ashi but I really hope her life doesn’t get ruined either.

The only time Kashf gave words to her feelings about Wajdan ended up being what turned everything against her. Zoya joined hands with Matiullah & recorded a video. I really couldn’t believe when I saw that happening because it was too low of Zoya to do something like this, that too when she herself has heard that Kashf is no way interested in getting married to Wajdan because she wants him to get married to Zoya. I must say, at this stage, I really want to see the end Zoya’s character’s going to have because she deserves the worst for being this vile & evil. It seems Kashf will see Zoya & Wajdan’s marriage as the only option to calm things down & make people believe that there was nothing going on between her & Wajdan.

I really didn’t think I’d ever feel resentment towards Dilshaad’s character. Out of all the people, I thought she’d always be emotionally available for her daughter but she seems too consumed by the comfortable life that she has completely forgotten what Kashf is going through. I have said this before but I feel like saying it again that Imtiyaz still seems justified because he was always like that but the flip in Dilshad’s attitude is not only shocking but leaves a bad taste in the mouth. She too has held grudges against Rashida, this is why she didn’t find it odd that Imtiyaz had tactfully gotten hold of the ownership of Rashida’s house. I hoped that she would remind him of the fact that Rashida was now a widow therefore he shouldn’t behave so greedily but she didn’t utter a word & in fact found it bizarre that Dadi was showing concern about this matter.

Superb Episode

This episode of Kashf was quite intense & actually had me emotionally invested in it because I felt really bad for what Kashf went through. I really hope in the next episode, Kashf gives Zoya a piece of her mind because she has all the reasons to hold her responsible based on the dream that she saw as well as the behavior Zoya, in general, has towards Kashf.

It will definitely take some time for me to warm up to Asma Abbas as Rashida. I really liked the way Lubna Aslam played that role & had such perfect motherly chemistry with Wajdan. Asma Abbas seemed a little out of place & even the attitude of Rashida seemed a bit changed but that’s given when two different actors play the same role. I really hope Lubna Aslam is doing fine, I wish her well & I pray for her health. Junaid Khan & Hira Mani were the stars of this episode. Sabeena Farooq has succeeded in making me loath Zoya’s character – that’s her win as an actor for sure. It is interesting that they didn’t really give away much in the preview of the next episode. Ohkay so, at this stage of the drama, the entire focus is on Kashf’s younger sisters. It won’t be wrong to say that I was hoping they’d be done with both Zoya & Irum’s track in this one but it didn’t seem to happen. However, there were a few moments that made a lot of sense & as a whole, this episode definitely worked. As the story is progressing, every step of the way, the viewers are reminded of all the dreams that Kashf has seen related to her family members. Their fluctuating behaviors clearly show that in their lives, Kashf’s just a breadwinner & they are being more open about it now without even considering what Kashf goes through when she sees her own family members being so selfish!

Kashf & Wajdan’s Exploitation

At the beginning of the drama, they did show that Kashf helped to save her aunt from meeting an accident, therefore what happened with Irum was similar to that case. It was now made clear that all the dreams that Kashf saw about Irum didn’t have to materialize. I was actually surprised that they cut the entire scenario short & instead shown that Kashf prevented Irum’s life from getting ruined, which was definitely an intelligent way of dealing with this aspect of the story. The dreams that she saw were basically a foreshadowing of what might happen if Irum got married to Babar. Irum was definitely being stubborn about it but then, she was lucky that her parents figured out everything before she could take such a drastic step. I think it was another subtle reminder that just because Irum was always nice & never did anything wrong, she was saved. It was also due to the fact that she never caused harm to anyone. Now what happens with Zoya & even Ashi is left to be seen. I do wish Ashi finds her happiness too because after doing so much for her entire family & especially after dealing with an abusive relationship in the past, she deserves to be happy.

Wajdan continued to prove his love for Kashf. I really like their equation. Kashf is completely aware of how pure Wajdan’s intentions are but her hands are tied. As much as she wants to be with him, she knows she can not be because her family doesn’t approve. Wajdan has gotten enough reminders that he might not be able to get married to Kashf ever, but still, he continues to show it to her because he genuinely wants her to know the intensity of his love for her – this definitely makes Wajdan a very special character. I like the fact that at times he does seem a bit too emotional but he makes all his decisions carefully & this mostly happens because he wants to convince Kashf, which is heart-warming!

Everything’s Under Imtiyaz’s Control

Although Imtiyaz has been a very selfish father, to see him reaping rewards of his hard work was quite interesting. He has everything under control & now he is at a position where he can dictate & bargain because now he is free of all the needs. He has finally achieved what he wanted & he knows that as far as Kashf will continue to do what he expects from her, his life will be sorted. To be honest, Imtiyaz was shown to be a selfish father right from the beginning, therefore his attitude & behavior doesn’t really surprise me anymore but what surprised me was the shift in Dilshad’s behavior. It is because in the beginning, she was shown to be a mother who was very much in touch with Kashf’s emotional state & felt a lot for her daughter but the way she behaves now clearly shows that there’s no difference between her & Imtiyaz. Her behavior as a mother saddens me because she too has gotten used to the comfort & luxuries that she is perfectly fine with the idea of Kashf staying unmarried for the rest of her life. Imtiyaz & Zoya were always like that, but the shift in Dilshad & Irum’s attitudes has definitely been shocking!

I was pleasantly surprised when Imtiyaz showed Irum the video clip. It goes to show that he is not being ignorant & is very much keeping tabs on Matiullah because he has an idea that he will keep on making attempts to ruin his family business. It is definitely interesting that someone who was introduced as a good-for-nothing is now very much in his element & is doing everything that showcases his capabilities & intelligence as a businessman & a far-sighted one at that. I honestly wasn’t expecting this twist in Irum’s life but it was definitely a pleasant surprise & I am glad that even at this stage of the drama where things have started to look a bit monotonous, the writer still has a few surprises planned for the viewers. Ashi has yet to find out that she too is being trapped by Aqmal but it seems she might not be able to dodge the bullet unless Imtiyaz figures that out too.

Interesting Episode

This episode of Kashf was definitely interesting. Hira Mani continues to impress & so does Waseem Abbas. I will however say that all the supporting actors like Munazza Arif, Samina Ahmed, Sabeena Farooq, Saleem Mairaj & Tanya Hussain have been very impressive as well. Junaid Khan seems to have finally gotten a project where he gets to showcase his acting skills in a perfect manner because I don’t remember him being this good in any other drama before. He has made Wajdan’s character very realistic & has portrayed it in such a manner that makes me feel for him. The actor playing the role of Babar gave such perfect expressions when he got to know that Irum has found out about his ties with Matiullah. It goes to show that the director gave such briefs to the actors where they found themselves comfortable enough in coming up with such realistic expressions. The way all the actors have performed shows that Danish Nawaz put faith in them & gave them confidence which allowed them to act to the best of their abilities. Kashf has definitely been a very impressive drama so far but it’s just that as a viewer who feels for Kashf so much, I really want to see what’s in store for her & want to get done with Zoya & Irum’s stories quickly. Ohkay so, this episode of Kashf despite being repetitive still had some very important scenarios to its credit. I really wish they get done with Irum & Zoya’s wedding quickly so that the story moves past this phase & focuses more on Kashf’s life after this chaos. I really liked the way they focused on Kashf & Wajdan’s relationship in this episode, it shows that despite not wanting to, Kashf can not stop herself from loving him or getting affected by what he says or feels. A girl full of dreams who is being forced to sacrifice everything for others, it makes me feel for Kashf a lot because she is the victim in this situation but she believes she is doing it for the best.

Kashf Facing The Heat

It was interesting to note how every time, Kashf spoke her heart out in front of Wajdan & confided in him. She knows that of all the people, he is the one who not only understands but genuinely feels for her. Wajdan so far has not told her that she is getting exploited by her family but his anger & frustration is enough to show that he is upset with how Kashf is ruining her life for the sake of her family. Kashf feels at ease whenever she sees Wajdan, obviously, she has adapted to the new life that Imtiyaz curated for her but because she was at this comfort level with him in the past, it happens to be the reason why she still talks to Wajdan about whatever’s bothering her.

In this episode, they covered a bigger picture. So far they hadn’t revealed the particular reason why Matiullah was trying to frame Irum & Ashi but now he confessed that this way, he’ll be able to spread the rumor that Kashf’s dreams are not accurate, otherwise she would’ve saved her aunt & sister. Matiullah surely has made far-fetched plans but it is unfortunate that both Imtiyaz & Kashf are unable to connect the dots for now. Kashf did see another dream & it goes to show that the next phase of her life is going to be full of obstacles too. It is unfortunate that despite being so selfless & giving, Kashf is barely receiving anything good in her life at this stage.

It is interesting to note that every time Kashf gets emotionally affected by Wajdan & his feelings for her, she ends up seeing him & Zoya together. It is like she ends up getting a reminder that they both are not meant to be, therefore she should let go of her feelings & start seeing him as her sister’s husband. To be honest, seeing the promo as well a little hint that Wajdan got about Zoya being in love with him made me sigh with relief because it seems finally this aspect of the story is about to be dealt with. I feel Irum & Zoya have gotten a lot of coverage & it’s high time that the story moves on.

Irum is not going to budge & she will make sure to get married to Baber. It is unfortunate that more than anything else, Irum is adamant to not do what she thinks Kashf has chosen for her because it’s her ego problem. She was the only sister who used to feel for Kashf but now she wants her to get married, thinking this will solve all the problems of the family. I really loved the scene when Dilshad revisited Kashf & Irum’s childhood memories, it was absolutely sweet & explained Kashf’s selfless & nurturing nature a bit more. It seems she was always like that, a selfless elder sister who loved taking care of her younger sisters & that trait of hers hasn’t changed.

The things Zoya said to Kashf also showed that her dreams have now become a reason for her to be mocked about. It shows the double standards of her family because as far as enjoying the luxuries is concerned, they don’t mind her dreams but when the exact same dreams have an impact on their lives, they start questioning their authenticity. As much as it’s the truth that Irum won’t lead a happy life with Babar & will eventually come back crying, just thinking about it while watching this episode made me think that once again, the burden will be on Kashf to support Irum mentally, emotionally as well as financially. It actually is true that her hardships are far from being over. Sad!

Looking Forward To The Next Phase

This episode was interesting but it won’t be wrong to say that some of the scenarios have started to look repetitive. It still doesn’t take away from the fact that at the moment, Kashf definitely is one of the best dramas on-air. I really enjoyed all of Daadi’s scenes because her character is not only cute but adds comic relief which is much needed. I think at this stage, I can totally say that more than anything else, I just want to see those times when Kashf will take a stand for herself & her entire family will actually realize how much she has done for them. Dilshad did speak on those lines but that doesn’t mean they are going to back out from exploiting her because they want to get a lot of things done. Also, just realizing & feeling is not important, they all actually need to genuinely understand how they have exploited Kashf by snatching away everything from her. At least it is good that Kashf gets to vent out in front of Wajdan but after his marriage, that will be over for her too & in the literal sense, Kashf will be left alone – exactly what she saw in her dream.

Apart from that, the way the emotional scenes have been panned out in this drama makes it a very real & interesting watching experience. Wajdan talking to Irum about her wrong choices & then getting disappointed seeing her resentment towards Kashf. Dilshad’s conversation about the love Kashf had for Irum. Then, of course, all the things Imtiyaz does & say, all these scenarios add a lot of depth and the touch of realism to this drama which sets Kashf apart. Let’s see what happens next. Ohkay so, the past couple of episodes despite being interesting to have slowed down the pace of the drama & the progress in the story. However, the overall execution & the shifts in the characters are very much able to hold my interest as a viewer. This episode focused on how hard Kashf was trying to help her sister but unfortunately, she can’t do much because Irum is not ready to understand her point of view.

Kashf’s Authoritativeness

In this episode, what I really liked was the authoritativeness that Kashf displayed. She finally knows she is at that stage where she can make decisions, although she understands that not everything she says will be agreed upon but she feels that’s the least she can do if that means saving her sister’s life from getting ruined. Kashf’s helplessness is what makes me feel for her a lot because she has the best interests of her entire family but unfortunately for them, she is just a breadwinner & nothing else. This was elaborated when Irum casually spoke about how much Kashf has done for them but that didn’t mean they all were going to allow her to make decisions on their behalf.

Imtiyaz has everything under control. It is always interesting to the rivalry between him & Matiullah, it perfectly showcases how different forces start working against you when you start becoming successful. Matiullah has been on Imtiyaz’s case ever since he has opened up the Asthana, obviously, it has a lot to do with the financial crunch that Matiullah is faced with but it has more to do with his bruised ego. Just a few months ago Matiullah used to treat Imtiyaz as a nobody & never in a million years he imagined that a good-for-nothing Imtiyaz will end up giving him a run for his money. It is unfortunate that in this rivalry, Matiullah has decided to destroy the lives of Ashi & Irum – which is something Imtiyaz does not deserve whatsoever. Matiullah is a coward in a literal sense who derives pleasure by oppressing the weak & vulnerable. When he was married to Ashi, he treated her as a doormat & now when she is finally free, he is once again doing what it takes to make sure she never finds happiness again. In this case, Aqmal & Babar are equally responsible but sadly, they are a depiction of those people who’d do anything to make some money.

Kashf’s life has not been easy & now even more because she is faced with new challenges every day. Kashf would’ve never thought that her own sister would turn against her. Kashf never had any expectations from Zoya because she had already shown that Kashf meant nothing to her. This is another reason why Kashf feels hurt & betrayed because she can not deal with the fact that Irum has started doubting her intentions. Irum & Ashi are a representation of those females who find it very easy to trust men they love. I must commend the writer for showing two females from different age groups because actually when deception men come into the picture, your age doesn’t matter. Anyone would expect Ashi to be a bit more mature because she has already been through an abusive & failed marriage but seeing her easily falling for Aqmal goes to show how desperately she wants to settle down & have a life of her own. Irum is just being hopelessly stupid. Despite the constant warnings, she is ready to turn a blind eye because she wants to challenge her fate as well as all that Kashf says.

Imtiyaz continued to remind Kashf of what she was supposed to do if she wanted to see her sister getting married. I think this change in Kashf’s attitude has definitely been the best aspect of her journey so far where she has started speaking up to her father who continues to exploit her. Once again, all that Kashf’s doing is not for herself but for her sister but sadly, they don’t really understand. I really look forward to the time when Kashf will eventually speak up for herself too. Props to the writer for showing that despite accepting this as her fate, Kashf has still not lost her voice & her opinion. She very much understands her responsibilities, this is why she doesn’t shy away from stating them every chance she gets because she knows people around her often forget to distinguish between right & wrong. Imtiyaz thinks he gets to control Kashf but as the days are passing by, she is letting him know that he can not get away with whatever he wants!

Directed With Precision

The story in the past couple of episodes has not progressed, probably because the focus has been on Irum & Ashi but the overall execution still makes it very interesting. There’s no denying the fact that these days Kashf’s is definitely one of the must-watch dramas. The director definitely deserves full points for keeping it so precise & to the point. Honestly speaking, as the episode began I thought it would be dedicated to Fayyaz’s death & the mourning period in all its entirety but I was pleasantly surprised how just a couple of scenes were dedicated to his family to show that they were emotionally shattered & then the focus shifted on Kashf’s family. This actually shows how the writer as well as the director have had a vision where they didn’t want to spend a lot of time on the scenarios which could be dealt with in a couple of scenes.

Waseem Abbas definitely made this episode a lot more entertaining. It also had some very meaningful conversations to its credit, especially the ones between Irum & Kashf. I really liked the scene where Kashf consoled Daadi, the way her own voice got heavier went to show that she too got emotional seeing Daadi in that emotional state – that was some brilliant & realistic acting done by Hira Mani. I feel in those scenes where Hira is trying to sound authoritative, she loses the touch of Kashf’s character despite trying very hard to hold onto. I think because this is a new shift in her character, it will definitely require some time getting used to it – felt the same in the previous episode in just one scene but in this episode, it was quite evident. Having said that, it definitely does not take away from the fact that Hira Mani definitely has carried the drama on her shoulders & has given such a performance which is going to leave a long-lasting impression on everyone. I must commend the writer once again for using a ‘fantasy’ genre & giving it such a realistic treatment. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Kashf.

Ohkay so, these two episodes of Kashf focused on the emotional battles that Kashf was fighting on her own. Although in her family, Kashf is made to feel like she is the decision-maker but the reality is completely different. This is something that Kashf herself knows but because she feels so strongly for her family members, she finds it hard to not share her fears & inhibitions with them. The story of Kashf may seem one-dimensional but at this stage, it has been established that it is more about the shifts in behavioral patterns of the people Kashf is surrounded with, which is what makes it a very interesting watch.

Kashf’s Emotional Struggles

Kashf found herself in an awkward situation when she foresaw what might happen with both Irum & Ashi. Kashf also has seen that Matiullah will try his best to harm Imtiyaz’s family & their business. However, because the lady who was sent by Matiullah got exposed, Kashf & in fact, nobody else is ever going to imagine that eventually, everything that Ashi & Irum will face will be a revenge plan devised by Matiullah.

The highlight of this episode for me was how Kashf figured everything out on her own. She also started second-guessing herself because she too believed that maybe not all of her dreams materialize but she was made to realize that although there was a possibility of that happening, she should focus more on the fact that the dreams she sees do end up turning into a reality. This was enough for Kashf to take a stand to save her sister from ruining her life but then again, at this point, Kashf is merely a provider for them & nothing else.

It is unfortunate that nothing that Kashf says or does has any effect on her parents or sisters because, for the first time in their lives, they all are at this stage where they are thinking independently about themselves. This also goes to show that the financial ease also creates an emotional divide & a gap between the close-knit families, because they move past the stage where they all are in the same boat & share the same struggles. Ever since Kashf’s family has started seeing the financial ease, they have turned a blind eye towards her. This too is something that Kashf has foreseen but the way the writer has developed the story & has brought it to this stage is commendable.

In these episodes, it was also elaborated how Kashf’s family was now only concerned about what she could do for them financially because even when she shared her dreams & her concerns related to Irum’s future, none of her family members paid heed to it. It is ironic because her father makes money on this particular ability of hers but when it comes to their own personal matters, her dreams hold no weightage. Dilshad too has become aloof to Kashf’s feelings. It was interesting to note that Dilshad did show her concerns to Kashf & made her feel that she was going to be there for her but eventually, their conversation again became related to all the demands Dilshad expected Kashf to fulfill. I must say, props to the writer & the director for keeping it very subtle but even than painting the picture with clarity of how the attitudes have completely changed.

To be honest, I did not expect Ashi to do something like this – inviting Aqmal into her room behind her family’s back. Ashi has a right to choose her life partner & she has a compatibility with Aqmal but this was a bit unlike her to behave with such immaturiy. However, this goes to show how desperate she is that she has stopped thinking about right & wrong & just wants to show Aqmal that she is more than willing to get married to him. Ashi & Irum are pretty much living in the bubble but in contrast, Kashf is feeling anxious because she can sense something is not right.

Another dream, another reality – Fayyaz passed away & Kashf had already told Wajdan about it. Although it was a tragic incident for their entire family, it was still an eye-opener for Kashf to know that she should have faith in her dreams, therefore she should at least do something to prevent her sister’s life from getting ruined. It didn’t surprise me much when I saw the changed attitude of Irum, she was the one who used to feel a lot for Kashf but then again, she is in love, she is immature & therefore, she won’t believe Kashf till she will eventually face the reality that she was warned about.

Hira Mani should be extremely proud of herself for doing justice to a character like Kashf. Each & every emotion has been portrayed with such clarity that you can’t help feel for her. Kashf is all alone & it is unfortunate that there’s no one who is ever going to understand what she feels. Although she does have Wajdan but he too will succumb to the pressures. It’s not just the battles that Kashf has to fight related to the personal affairs of her family members, she is now being made to do things that she does not agree with, such as handing over taweez – this is something that is taking her inner-peace away from her. The way Kashf asked that woman to pray for her forgiveness was enough to show how guilty she felt for doing something she knew was wrong but then again, she knew it was going to bring in the money her family is in need of. After seeing all this, I wonder if her family will ever understand or realize how much Kashf has done for them? What she went through to feed their desires? I would love to see that & I hope the writer makes that aspect of the story worthwhile, but at this stage seeing her do all the heavy lifting is saddening.

Brilliantly Executed

The story of Kashf continues to impress & it keeps on getting better. The overall tracks & progress have been tackled brilliantly but what I actually enjoyed a lot more was seeing minute details which shed a light on how things have changed in Kashf’s household – gold earrings of Dilshad, her new and improved clothing, the change in their meals, the way Kashf ate her food which showed that because her father made her sit in Asthana for long hours, she became quite hungry. Subtle expressions of Wajdan noticing how Zoya was trying to impress his parents by going out of the way, these minute details add a lot more depth in every situation which makes every scene interesting enough to keep you hooked to it. It also shows the skillfulness of Danish Nawaz as a director who has paid so much attention to detail.

Hira Mani definitely has been carrying this entire drama on her shoulders & all the actors who are playing supporting characters too have contributed a lot in making it a complete package. I really enjoy Dadi’s scenes, it is actually cute that her character has been used to bring some comic relief in an otherwise very intense & grim drama. Kashf is a complete package & I can not wait to see what’s in store for us. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Kashf.

Ohkay so, just like all the previous episodes, this one too covered all the things that Kashf is facing & the things she is made to endure. It is interesting to note how each episode covers all the aspects related to Kashf’s personal as well as ‘professional’ life. Tonight for the first time, I felt Kashf wanted to live like a regular girl because that’s who she actually is at heart. She got engaged to the cousin she loved at such a young age, therefore her overall mentality was shaped in a way where she saw herself living a happily-ever-after sort of married life but now, all of a sudden things have changed & she has no control over anything. I really appreciate how the writer has humanized her character & has shown that although she puts up a brave face, she too is hurt & feels overwhelmed by the responsibilities that have been put on her shoulders.

The Burden of Responsibilities

Imtiyaz went a step further to reiterate that Kashf was no longer a regular girl, she has a name & an image therefore she has to live by it. Kashf has pretty much accepted this fate but it was natural for her to feel sad that she did not even have the right to make basic decisions like wearing a bright colored dress that she wanted to. This entire change was overwhelming for Kashf & her reaction did make me feel for her a lot. I must add, the intricate details such as Kashf mentioning it in front of Wajdan that colors do not look good on her & him complimenting her, making her feel special add a lot more charm to the story. It was almost as if Kashf felt special & she realized that where Imtiyaz tried to make her feel conscious, there was Wajdan who was showing her a completely different side of the picture.

In this entire episode, it was evident that Kashf was feeling burdened. Her conversation with her mother was emotional but the way Kashf ended it with her sheer silence was so heart-breaking. It was right at that moment when she realized that her mother too was on the same page as her father & wanted Kashf to continue with this work because it was bringing in the money their family needs. Kashf has become the sacrificial lamb for her entire family & I really like that she actually isn’t oblivious of it. The way she smirks & shows these expressions are enough to know that she is seeing-through her family members but only because of her niceness, she doesn’t say much.

Things have started to change in their household – there were subtle mentions & reminders which actually shed a light on it in an interesting manner. There was a time when they could barely eat anything nice but now the mention of Biryani & Haleem went to show that the business was doing well & not only that, it was expanding. Slowly & steadily everyone has started speaking about their financial needs – Dilshad & even Ashi were being humble about it but it was brilliantly highlighted that they too have started to get a little comfortable to use the money that Kashf is earning. The way the writer has shown the slow progress of exploitation is commendable. At first, everyone felt really bad for Kashf except Imtiyaz because at least he was honest about it right from the beginning, but now slowly & steadily the rest of the family members have also started relying on Kashf. It won’t be too long before they will become aloof to Kashf & her emotions. I couldn’t help but relate the current events with the two dreams that Kashf has seen before – one where Imtiyaz throws a black shawl on her & the second one where she is showering money on her family members & in the end, she is left all alone.

I must say, Sabeena Farooq, is a find of the industry. Her acting as annoying Zoya is spot on. She actually makes you resent Zoya’s character for being so shameless in her approach towards Wajdan. It seems Zoya is not alone, Ashi as well as Irum are very much in love & are eager to settle down. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that but yes, I know that Kashf will have to pay the price, she will have to do the heavy-lifting & will have to compromise her love so that all of them will find their bliss.

I am really glad that the writer did not make Kashf’s character good to an extent of being gullible where she can not understand how her family is exploiting her. Her mannerisms, her body language, the dejection in the way she walks & then her eyes are enough to show that she understands everything but has made up her mind that this is what her life is & there’s no escape. It’s a done deal that after all of them will get married, Kashf actually will be left alone & then she will continue to fend for her parents.

Interesting Episode & Additions

Overall, this episode of Kashf was really interesting & I was kind of relieved to see some new faces in this episode. Change at any stage of the story is always necessary & I am glad they have now started to add more tracks to it. Waseem Abbas was phenomenal in this episode & to be honest, I kind of felt relieved when he settled a score with Matiullah, although he did it for himself, I feel Matiullah deserves to be punished for what he has done to Ashi.

Sabeena Farooq was really impressive & I also liked Tanya Hussain in this episode. Hajra Khan has done exceptionally well as Ashi & I enjoyed her interactions with Kashf. I also really like Shumaila’s character, she has a lot of admiration for Kashf because of her relationship with Wajdan & the way she shows it is actually very sweet – Maryam Noor has also acted well in Kashf. Hira Mani as usual was the star of this episode, she has done justice to all the emotions of Kashf & has actually forced the viewers to feel for her. I must say, she looked really pretty in the initial scenes where Kashf was getting ready for Shumaila’s mehndi. Already looking forward to the next episode. Ohkay so, in this episode of Kashf, the entire focus was on how Imtiyaz was coming up with one plan after another to expand this family business. This was yet another well-directed episode of Kashf. The story however is not making a lot of progress & as much as the drama overall is very engaging, as a viewer I have to fish out for the developments to discuss because they’re very few in each episode. I guess by this time, the viewers should get used to this kind of pace because it seems only a few scenarios will unfold in every single episode with the story mainly revolving around Imtiyaz & Kashf’s equation.

Imtiyaz & Kashf’s Plans

At the beginning of this episode, the light was shed on how far Imtiyaz was ready to go to control Kashf. All the nice things he says to her every now & then basically have no meaning because his actions & behavior repeatedly contradict the act that he puts up of being that courteous & considerate father to her. Unfortunately, he doesn’t mind resorting to such extremes & sadly, no one dares to oppose him.

In this episode, I was pleasantly surprised when Kashf took a stand for herself. Honestly speaking, when I saw Imtiyaz locking her up in the room, I was wondering how long she was going to put up with this kind of treatment but I am glad they decided to show that Kashf very well knew how to take charge of the situation. Although she knows there’s not much that she can do but at least she has started to set some limits because she is aware of the fact that her father is going to abide by all the rules for his selfish reasons. Kashf will get to exercise some authority as far as she does everything that does not get in the way of her father’s bigger plans such as earning a lot of money.

The recurring dreams that Kashf sees about Wajdan & Zoya’s wedding are becoming a little repetitive. Although I do understand that they are recurring & this is exactly what has been shown but I was relieved after watching the promo of the next episode because it seems Kashf is finally going to do something about it to get done with this chapter in her. She has invested a lot of time & knows that nothing’s going to happen, therefore it is wise of her to plan things in such a way that will eventually make her dream come true & that will also serve as a closure for her, which she needs.

The word has spread & this is why people have started to approach Kashf. The entire situation where a male wanted to see Kashf was very interesting especially because she used it to her advantage. I loved seeing how Kashf convinced her father to give the money earned by ladies to her mother & keep the amount given by gents who’d come to see her. This goes to show that Kashf wants to do much more for Dilshad than for Imtiyaz because he will never let go of the money that he will continue to make if Kashf will not put her foot down. Appointing Wajdan was also a good idea because this way she will ensure that he doesn’t do anything irrational & stays engaged with the Asthana. Kashf still has a lot more faith & confidence in Wajdan than she has in her own father, it is unfortunate but convincingly shown how parents often turn a blind eye to the feelings of their children & mistake their silence out of respect as their weakness.

There were a lot such moments which were so meaningful in this episode – like the one where Kashf wanted to appoint Wajdan & told her father that she wanted someone who’d keep a check on who comes in to see her. Imtiyaz obviously couldn’t understand what she meant but it showed that Kashf exactly knows how her father will not put much thought to it if anyone will promise him a handsome amount. The letter Kashf wrote to Wajdan was also really nice & his reaction to it was really cute, he didn’t quite understand where she was coming from but at least he decided to keep her promise. I must also add, the relationship Wajdan & Shumaila share is refreshing too, they support each other & the light-hearted moments they share truly represent a healthy sibling relationship.

I will say I am a little disappointed with Ashi at this stage of the story because all she does is just observe & stay silent to the unjust behavior of Imtiyaz, that too after it has been shown what she is capable of & how she really can come up with different solutions. If she doesn’t want to meddle in the affair of Asthana, that’s perfectly fine but the entire situation where Imtiyaz locked Kashf in the room, I thought she’d be the one to take a stand for Kashf & give Imtiyaz a much-needed reality check. I really hope in the future episodes, we do get to see her doing something than just being a silent spectator.

Well Executed Episode

Overall, this episode of Kashf was an interesting watch like all the previous episodes have been but I guess there’s a little slump in the progress of the story but it doesn’t take away the fact that it still keeps my interest as a viewer alive. All the dream sequences are intelligently executed & make up the most interesting part of every episode. I will, however, say that I want Zoya & Wajdan to get married so that those recurring dreams stop & Kashf moves on – however the rest of the dreams she sees which include Wajdan do hint that despite his marriage, he will stick around & Kashf will still be attached to him emotionally. Waseem Abbas, Hira Mani & Junaid Khan are making Kashf what it is coupled with the brilliant direction of Danish Nawaz. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Kashf.

Ohkay so, the progress & development in the story of Kashf has definitely slowed down, but while watching this episode, I was really glad that Danish Nawaz decided to bring in some fun & comic elements to the entire scenario. Dramas and stories like these get grim very easily & bearing in mind that things have to be taken slow, it is always a good idea to rely on some light-hearted moments. I thoroughly enjoyed watching tonight’s episode of Kashf because of Wajdan & to some extent Imtiyaz too.

Family Dynamics

The main focus was purely on how Kashf has started doing well in terms of earning money. Imtiyaz was pretty satisfied with the way Kashf was approaching the new family business set up by him & for the first time, I could actually see the eagerness in Dilshad & Ashi’s body language too. I feel for them, although they are not exploiting Kashf at all but because they both have faced such tough circumstances, some kind of financial relief is obviously something which no one actually minds. This is exactly why Dilshad & Ashi were not getting too involved in how Imtiyaz was approaching everything because they can actually see the results.

So far, Irum is the one who is not too convinced & does not approve of her father’s selfishness but sooner or later, she too will get used to some of the comforts & reliefs Kashf will be bringing to her family. However, I wonder why Ashi has not tried working as a teacher in some other school? She was asked to resign because Matiullah created a scene there & Ashi is obviously not someone who’d be frightened because of one such incident. Not sure what her reasons are because she’s not someone who’d waste her time not doing anything.

The comedy factor in this episode of Kashf was right up my alley, I actually found myself laughing out loud when I saw Wajdan running to his room & Shumaila chasing after him thinking it was a stranger. Although as the episode progressed, I wasn’t too sure what to feel about Wajdan’s presence in Kashf’s asthana that too as a mulazima but I am glad that by the end of this episode, he got exposed & this entire scenario will not be dragged further. I will however say that for as long as it lasted, I thoroughly enjoyed it because not only Wajdan was being funny, Ashi & Dilshad too couldn’t resist sharing a laugh or two at how he was fooling Imtiyaz. Honestly speaking, I am really liking Wajdan’s character because that there’s so much more to him – he has a character, a personality & quite a few shades where he is kind, caring, persistent & very much convinced that he can win Kashf over.

Kashf understands that her family, especially her father, needs her the most. Also, seeing her fate in dreams has convinced her to give up on the idea of getting married because she knows it is most likely to happen considering how Imtiyaz has made up his mind & pretty much has called her engagement off. Kashf wants to get over this with this once & for all, this is why she eventually had to tell Wajdan to marry someone else. She even spoke to Shumaila about it, which shows that she has started hinting about it, hoping that it will prevent Wajdan from wasting his time on chasing after his dream of marrying Kashf & will probably move on.

It was something new that Kashf can actually see people in her dreams whom she has never met before. The girl who had to give up on her bangles was one such person but it was good that she got to hear what she wanted to. This goes to show that Kashf is still very much sincere to the people she is meeting & is trying her best to not misguide them due to her shortcomings. The way Kashf consistently & repeatedly asks for guidance from Allah has to be my favorite aspect of her journey because she is fearful knowing there’s a thin line that should never be crossed. I really want to see when she will stop being selfless & I wish there comes a time when she actually takes a stand for something that she wants for herself.

Daadi & Imtiyaz scene was humorous too where they were trying to whisper so that they don’t disturb Kashf. I also enjoyed the conversation Shumaila & Kashf had. Ashi & Wajdan’s scene was cute too. It was obvious that they shot the events covering before & after Shumaila’s engagement the same day because the clothes of Shumaila, Kashf & even Zoya were the same, which were meant to look like two different days. Although it wasn’t a flaw but something that I noticed while watching those scenes.

Anyhow, Kashf probably also saw a dream which made her realize the consequences her words could have, this is why she was scared that Wajdan might end up harming himself. Another very important conversation which I liked was when Wajdan gave his reasoning for not getting married to anyone else – how often do we get to hear a male character admitting to being unfair if he chooses to marry someone he doesn’t love? Although going by Zoya’s behavior as well as Kashf’s dreams, it is obvious that Wajdan will eventually get married to Zoya but at this moment, his honesty was what I liked the most. It is good to see such characters who know when & where they can go wrong. Wajdan knows he will not be able to love anyone else apart from Kashf, so he spoke the truth.

Fun Episode

This episode of Kashf was really nice. I enjoyed watching it thoroughly because the change in behavior & attitude of all the characters was very interesting to read. Wajdan being asthanay ki mulazima was humorous, especially when it was happening right under Imtiyaz’s nose with him being oblivious. This for me has to be probably the most convincing performance of Junaid Khan. The way he has portrayed this character shows that he himself enjoyed playing this role, which helped him in giving it a realistic feel. The fluctuating behavioral patterns of Imtiyaz was actually quite funny too. Although Danish Nawaz has directed this drama with a vision & each episode has been perfect but this one especially had his name written all over it, with the comic timing of all the characters being spot on. Ohkay so, this episode of Kashf showed how easy it is to sell religion & play with the feelings of the vulnerable & those who have lost direction due to weak faith & beliefs. A comparison was also drawn between the intentions of people & the writer has skillfully portrayed how easy it is for anyone to find a way, look for a path & walk on it based on their own beliefs. This entire picture is now about Imtiyaz & Kashf – they both are dealing with the same set of people but their intentions are completely different.

The Investment

Wajdan came to the forefront in this episode & showed that he was more than just a love-stricken fiance of Kashf. Wajdan has offended Matiullah & more than that, he not only acknowledged it but went to show that he has not forgotten the way his aunt Ashi was treated by Matiullah. So far, Matiullah was free to assume that the men of Ashi’s family did not really get themselves involved in the crucial matters concerning the ladies of the house. Imtiyaz obviously has not set a great example of being a guardian & the protector of the ladies, therefore Matiullah didn’t really know that a young guy like Wajdan out of nowhere will come, to not only threaten him but oust him from their lives. Imtiyaz had given a lot of power to Matiullah & because he never really put much thought into the intricacies, it was very easy for Matiullah to manipulate & control him, but not anymore. When Wajdan was having a conversation with Matiullah, I actually hoped that he would also speak about Ashi & when he did, I was relieved because although Ashi doesn’t know yet, it’s good that there is someone who has not forgotten the abuse & trauma she dealt with, while being married to a man like Matiullah.

In this entire episode, more than anyone else, I really enjoyed watching Wajdan. All of a sudden he was now trying to control things & not allowing Imtiyaz or even Matiullah to commit the mistakes they were used to committing. When it comes to Kashf, Wajdan knows he can not do much but at least, this is his way of showing it to her that she is not alone & that she has his back. The way Wajdan continued to do what he deemed right in the background was interesting to see because it was something different to the entire scenario that has been elaborated in the previous couple of episodes.

Imtiyaz decided to push Matiullah out of the equation & earn the money directly. The way Rashida put her trust in Kashf was enough for him to figure everything out. Although Imtiyaz is mean & completely selfish, it is still very interesting to see how he never gives up on hope & continues to push his luck. This is a perfect depiction of how the reality of some people usually is, with them being completely capable of shaping their lives but they choose not to because they believe in the shortcuts – Imtiyaz is one such person. He is analytical & he has that farsightedness too but unfortunately, his perspective & intention is where the problem lies.

It didn’t take long for Imtiyaz to open a religious center at his home, the way he was invested in it showed that he was pretty happy with the way he figured everything out on his own. Kashf is just playing along but there’s a huge difference between her & her father. Kashf is not playing with the weak & gullible people. She is not giving them false hopes, rather she is utilizing this opportunity to teach them a thing or two, to help them with the clarity in their concepts on how they should directly ask from their Creator. At least, it’s a relief that the writer has shown it from a different perspective where Kashf acknowledges that she has no power, no control over anything & has nothing in her hands to help the people who come with their problems at her doorstep. The way she constantly reminds herself of it goes to show that her intent is pure & she has basically taken it as a job to guide people but she also is well aware of the fact that her family members, especially her father need guidance as well.

In this episode, few of the dreams of Kashf were materialized – the one where her father makes her wear the black shawl & the second one where she is sitting in her house & handing over a lot of money to her family members. The way Imtiyaz opened the religious center in his house was basically a depiction of how Kashf will be minting money that too by staying within the confinement of four walls.

Anyhow, Shumaila is going to get married but it seems Kashf herself will make Wajdan get married to Zoya because it seems their marriage is going to be linked & both the siblings will get married the same day. I guess with the passing of Fayyaz, Rashida will deem it right to get both her children married together. I was actually interested to see what Kashf was going to say to Zoya but she was gone to the university, let’s see how she will let her younger sister know that she is backing out so that she can get married to Wajdan; not that Zoya will be grateful but I really want to see what Kashf has to say.

Top Notch Direction

This episode of Kashf was definitely interesting. The interactions of all the characters, especially Imtiyaz, Matiullah & Wajdan were done really well. The way the actors have effortlessly performed in this drama has really added to its appeal. They have truthfully portrayed the essence of the story & the treatment given to these characters have made them very easy to relate to, although there is an element of mysticism to this drama but the overall vibe & feel of it is very real. Their struggles, their hope for some relief, their pain & the strength they find by sticking to each other in difficult times makes it all very realistic. Waseem Abbas definitely deserves an award for this particular performance because it is not easy to bring out that meanness in a character in such a way that despite wanting to resent him, you actually understand why he is like that. Kashf’s character is turning out to be more likeable with each passing episode & so is Wajdan’s. Hira Mani & Junaid Khan have done a wonderful job in this drama. The direction continues to stay top notch & the story is getting better. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Kashf.

Ohkay so, Kashf has been produced by MD Productions, directed by Danish Nawaz & written by Imran Nazeer. The writer Imran Nazeer is known for always touching upon the topics which are hardly discussed & dramatized. The elements that set the scripts of Imran Nazeer apart are the inclination towards spirituality while also exploring the mystery and mysticism that come along. All these when gelled together form a very unique storyline which hit home for the audience & intrigue them. Kashf is a melodrama and it needed a director with a vision to take it further, therefore in that aspect Danish Nawaz has not disappointed. Every step of the way, the viewers get to see what a huge difference it makes when an experienced director takes up a script & does justice to the essence of the script.

Cast & Characters

The story of this drama is about Kashf (Hira Mani). Kashf belongs to a humble household. Her family consists of a grandmother (Samina Ahmed), father Imtiyaz (Waseem Abbas), mother Dilshad (Munazzah Arif) and two sisters Irum (Tania Hussain) & Zoya (Sabeena Farooq). Kashf also has an aunt Ashi (Hajra Khan), who along with her mother is not only her friend but a confidant. Ashi was married to Matiullah (Saleem Mairaj) but after suffering domestic violence and abuse, she got divorced and decided to become financially self-sufficient because she knew that in order to survive in her brother’s house, she had to fend for herself.

The other family is of Kashf’s fiance Wajdan (Junaid Khan). Wajdan is the first paternal cousin of Kashf and his father Fayyaz (Shehryaar Zaidi) happens to be Imtiyaz’s elder brother. His wife is Rashida (Lubna Aslam) & they also have a daughter Shumaila (Maryam Noor).

Story So Far

Kashf has always seen the dreams that she saw eventually turning into reality. It used to be something that her family never took seriously but over the period of time, all the dreams that Kashf shared with her family started to unfold in real life, which then made everyone realize that this is not something to be ignored or taken lightly. Kashf never knew that the dreams that she sees are going to affect her life personally & there would be so much meaning to each one of her dreams that despite not wanting to, she will have to believe each & every vision that she dreams.

The life that Kashf dreamt of was nothing in comparison to how her reality is unraveling to be. She is engaged to her cousin Wajdan and just wanted to lead a normal life with him but now, that seems beyond impossible for her. Kashf has understood that it won’t be so easy for her to get married, however Wajdan remains persistent that he is going to do what it takes to stay true to the promise he has made to her.

Kashf’s mother Dilshad & aunt Ashi are her support system. They understand her ordeals & realize that Kashf can not deal with everything on her own, therefore they have to be there for her. Ashi has seen the bitter side of the world, her marriage didn’t last & the relationship she shared with her husband was abusive & horrifying. Her ex-husband Matiullah still keeps tabs on Ashi’s entire family & he is one of those hypocrites who have fabricated an image of himself in front of the world but the only person who knows his reality is his ex-wife.

The turning point in Kashf life happens to be the dream that she sees about Wajdan’s sister Shumaila not getting married & when that turns out to be true, everyone assumes it must’ve been a coincidence but it gives Wajdan’s mother Rashida an excuse to call this engagement off because right from the beginning, she doesn’t approve of Kashf as her daughter in law.

Kashf’s father is someone who runs away from his responsibilities, this is the reason, the women of the house tend to do everything to facilitate themselves & because of his ego, he still believes he is the decision maker of the family. A conservative father who is only concerned about making money from every shortcut he can think of.

Ashi & Dilshad have started accompanying Kashf to her visits to Qari Sahab. He is the one who puts her heart at ease & advises her not to share her dreams because he can see that this reality of hers is only bringing misery her way. Everyone eventually believes Kashf when she ends up sharing yet another dream related to her mother’s sister Surraya Khala that she is going to face an accident. Surraya khala decides to postpone her trip to London & that’s when she gets to know that the plane she was supposed to travel in crashed. Surraya lets the word out & now people have started to speculate & make assumptions about Kashf.

Wajdan on the other hand takes a different route, which he deems right. It shows that at least for now, he is ready to do what it takes to make Kashf believe that he will stay by her side. Wajdan takes her to the psychiatrist because he wants some sort of clarity but even that session doesn’t turn out to be fruitful because what Kashf is facing falls out of the realm of medical science. However, it shows Wajdan’s support, his eagerness as well as the love that he has for Kashf but so far, he is unaware of the dream that Kashf has seen about their fate.

The Execution

Danish Nawaz in his previous drama Khass proved what a diligent & mature director he is. Therefore it was imperative that he’d give Kashf the exact treatment to extract as much essence of the story as possible. The drama despite having a melodramatic feel immediately drew my attention & the way all the characters & their stories were introduced made it even interesting. The script of Kashf is definitely new & the dialogues of the drama are carefully worded. All the dream sequences have been shot beautifully & give away just the right amount of information. Considering the fact that they are the focal point of this entire drama, they have been executed to perfection & not only draw the attention but also compel the viewers to think about what’s coming ahead in Kashf’s life.

Kashf’s journey is going to be a rollercoaster ride of emotions & the way everything is panning out, it has allowed the viewers to connect to these characters very easily. You feel for Ashi, Dilshad & Kashf everytime they put on a brave face but are breaking from the inside. It shows that these women have accepted their reality but still have not given up on hope. Kashf is scared as well as scarred because she does not see herself in the position that she has foreseen for herself, but is now coming to terms with it. The best scene so far for me was the conversation that Kashf & Qari Sahab had, where he told her exactly why she was special & what was in her that made her suitable for what she has been blessed with. Kashf has humility, humbleness & a clean heart. She does not hold grudges, believes in forgiving & giving benefit of doubt. Kashf, like an ordinary human being that she is only focuses on her faults but is then reminded that she can not see the niceness that others around her see in her.

So far 5 episodes of Kashf have gone on-air & each one of them has been carefully executed. They are not giving away too much but have shown enough for the viewers to speculate & also come up with their predictions related to Kashf’s journey. It is obvious that marriage is not on cards & she will become a source of income for her family; it will be her father Imtiyaz who will put her on such a pedestal & being a dutiful daughter that she is, she will oblige. Maybe over the period of time, Kashf will find herself all alone doing the heavy lifting because everyone will eventually get involved in their lives, with no one there to share her emotional burdens & help her through her struggles.

Hira Mani has given one of the strongest performances of her career in Kashf so far & with the kind of acting that she is doing, it is obvious that it’s only going to get better. Hira Mani is a gifted performer & she is a perfect choice for this role because the way she has adapted to this character makes it look like it was written for her. Waseem Abbas’s performance is another one of my favorites. I like his comic timing in the drama & it is always enjoyable seeing his mean tactics. Munnazah Arif & Hajra Khan have also given their absolute best & it’s good to see Hajra Khan playing such a strong character in this drama. The story & all the characters of Kashf are quite substantial & this is the reason why in such a short span of time, this drama has created quite a hype. If you have not watched Kashf & are on the fence about it, I will definitely recommend this drama because you will not be disappointed. The weekly reviews will begin right after this week’s episode. Kashf

It is a story based on an extraordinary life of an ordinary girl Kashf. Her life is shaped up because of the dreams that she dreams which cloud her nights and continue to bring miseries to her during the day. Kashf doesn’t quite understand why is it that everything that she dreams ends up turning into a reality.

Slowly the word has started to spread & it is adding more to her predicament because she does not deem herself qualified enough to be in such a position, however the Qari Sahab assures her that she is rightfully blessed. Kashf has now understood that her life going to be far from the normal, this is why she has let her fiancé Wajdan know that she doesn’t have happiness to offer.
