Bulbulay is surely one of the most watched sitcoms in Pakistan where every house in town loves to go wild with the crazy family onscreen. Besides the fact that the cast is wisely chosen, it is the script that keeps the hidden beauty going on. As mentioned in my previous post, Bulbulay seems to be like the CID of India which keeps the viewers entertained through its repeats telecast too. What makes every episode of the show, a hit, is the phenomenal acting of Hina Dilpazeer as Momo and Ayesha Omar as Khoobsoorat. This saas bahu chemistry is something that was never seen on screen for sure.
While I was going through the official page of the show, I found some interesting photos behind the scene on the set of Bulbulay, Here are they, Have a look!
We wish more power to the team of Bulbulay and look forward to the new episodes of the show,
The world is turning into a high-tech place where the imaginations of yesterday are becoming a reality of today. It was Hollywood initially that made the fiction look like a reality and gradually the trend was introduced in India too with Koi Mil Gaya, Kkrish, Robot and RaOne type of movies which were based on superhero idealogies and now it is Pakistan to catch up the race with its first Superhero Movie.
Been produced by Aamir Sajjad, Nation Awakes is the first superhero movie that enjoys a huge budget of 250 Million. Aamir would also be seen in the movie with his acting skills. According to the producer:
“The basic concept of the film is that it is not a normal superhero movie — we are trying to take a different route by exploring Pakistan’s current scenario,”
The movie is said to be filmed in 12 different countries and would be a bilingual film, targeting English and Urdu as the real languages. As the movie revolves around technology, the characters of the movie are been developed using the latest technologies in US and other countries. Although nothing much has been revealed about the project yet, it has been disclosed that the music of the movie has been composed by Sahir Ali Bagga.
The director of the film, Umair Nasir Ali revealed that about 20% of the script is still incomplete and once done with it, the casting of the movie would be scheduled in April. The first teaser of the movie would be out by June as per schedule.
Ohkay so this was the role of Shahzeb for which was was seen every now & then in the drama. He was to be used as a puppet by his own sister. Drama has made some interesting developments but seem nothing less than a bollywood movie. All these scheming & plottings still seems unreal to me even though we have seen a lot of such happenings in numerous Pakistani dramas.
Zeeshan could’ve used the blackmailing to improve his career line or to get a promotion but he proved himself to be Anam’s brother first. His blackmailing was right & he dealt with Ansar exactly how he had been dealing with Zeeshan previously. I want to see more of Ansar & Mariam’s scenes because I think it’s a high time Mariam should start realizing that there is some serious issue with her husband because we don’t see him spending time with her & Mariam is too busy in her devar’s life than hers, which seems a bit out of the place, because newly wedded girls spend most of the time with their husbands in stead of involving themselves in the family flicks. Ansar; after his conversation with Zeeshan, shed off his tension at Mariam saying that she supported Sherry for what he did with Anam. I mean excuse me? When was Ansar even seen interested in what his wife was doing, or when did he even spend time with her, for which he came to such a conclusion. Ansar’s character is a big disappointment in this drama & Mariam’s attitude towards her husband is more than that.
Anam & Ayza’s plan hit the bullseye & they both succeeded in maligning the feelings Sherry had for Zoya. I couldn’t stop wondering why couldn’t Zoya open her mouth once & for all so that she could clarify her image? I guess this would go to Shahzeb once again & he will let Sherry know of the reality. Anam is acting like nothing but a loser. Where did her ego & all that dignity vanish, for which she was proud of? A guy who has dumped her in front of his & her whole family, she is still seen crawling towards him & trying to win him over once again? If she was a girl with an ounce of dignity, she wouldn’t have even paid heed to him for all that he has done.
Mr. Kamal finally got rid of Zoya who was nothing less than a fish-bone in his throat through out these years. I was happy to see her father supporting her even though Sherry spilled what he saw at Shahzeb’s place. It would’ve been much better if Zoya had said what actually happened but I am tired of seeing her panting in stead of uttering a word at such situations. She is someone who always takes a stand where she sees something wrong is happening but why was she quiet all this while, that too when the unfair was happening to her own-self?
The preview of the next episode seems al-right nothing promising or something worth waiting for because we all can somehow predict what is going to happen. One good thing that might happen would be Shahzeb getting aware of the game Anam played with Zoya involving his sister. Let’s see where it goes now.
Finally, Murad and Aqeela’s wish came true as Deeba gave birth to not one, but two sons. Can things get better for Murad and worse for Umama? Umama had never wished ill for anyone despite everyone’s’ intolerable behavior towards her but she could not help but get sad after hearing news of the twin sons. She could not help but complain to God that if he wanted to give Murad sons then why not from her? I felt extremely bad for her and I got even sadder thinking that many women in our society face similar situations. It is extremely upsetting to see that despite being so educated people still have such orthodox views.
Unfortunately, there are still people in our society who discriminate between sons and daughter and Murad is shown as one such character. He is the most disappointing character in this show for me. At first, it seemed like he cared about his daughters but now we can see a totally different side of him. He did not even care when Umama told him that his daughter Fiza was unwell. Instead of taking her to the doctor, he chose to take Deeba to the doctor and then they were seen shopping for their unborn sons while Umama was worried about her daughter’s worsening condition. Umama was aware of the fact that she had been replaced in Murad’s life but she seemed satisfied to see that Murad still cared about his daughters, but now even that illusion is broken. Umama’s mother in law also showed no concern for her daughter. How indifferent can people get!
Murad’s change of attitude is very hard to digest. I cannot believe that this is the same Murad who loved Umama so much. Umama still never complains about Deeba’s demanding behavior and her servant like treatment towards her. Murad has just become a selfish person and only cares about his sons. He even puts up with the annoying and demanding attitude of Deeba for the sake of his sons. I literally clenched my teeth when he got angry and told Umama to stop competing with Deeba when she told him to keep his daughters’ Aqeeqa with Azhar and Waleed’s Aqeeqa. But I was really glad to see that Umama and her daughters did not go to the Aqeeqa as a form of retaliation. One of the best scenes of the episode for me was Atiqa and Umama’s conversation. Atiqa was trying to console Umama and was telling her to be patient and be thankful to God for whatever he has bestowed on you because there are a lot of people in the world who are not blessed with a single child. It is easy to advice someone to be patient in such a situation but very hard to implement. (rockstarjackets.com)
Umama is slowly realizing that she made a huge mistake giving Soha to Rehana because her sacrifice did not bear any fruit. Murad still got married again and she was not able to make a place in her mother in law’s heart either. Umama is still tolerating all the injustice done to her but for how long? She is on the verge of a mental breakdown and her anger and frustration is now visible to her daughters and it will also affect their lives. Will the situation ever get better for Umama?
Meher Bano was the star of this episode! I have no words after seeing her wonderful performance in this episode. The pain and emotional trauma was depicted perfectly by her. Her expressions, dialogue delivery and timing were just perfect!
Sorry for the long gap but I’m back with Mera Pehla Pyar reviews. Episodes 13-15 had some stuff going on, especially the 10 last ten minutes of episode 15. We start with Episodes 13 and 14, in which Taha and family decide to take a vacation to take Hira’s mind off of the divorce and the neglect by her mother. Taha also invites Maira and Bilal on the trip. Bilal is actually happy and wants to go. I felt sorry for him when he said that he thought all men were like his father. Can’t imagine what such kids go through. They all actually end up going on vacation and having a good time. Maira and Taha seemed perfect as parents and were really acting like a couple. Bilal and Hira fought like siblings, making it an actual family. Coincidentally enough (or maybe not) Ayesha was also there to shoot for her movie and saw them together. She gets jealous and takes her anger out on the director (clearly she hasn’t grown up still). After they all return from vacation, one morning while driving Maira notices that she is being followed. She recognizes the guy to be someone who used to be friends with her ex-husband Irfan. She justifiably freaks our and calls Taha when she gets home. He tells her to pack up as her and Bilal are coming with his to his house, where he can protect them. Of course Maira agrees and they are off to Taha’s and episode 14 ends there.
Here’s my question…does that not sound weird? I know that his intentions are well and he even has the support of his parents. Actually it’s a very smooth transition, but honestly, does it sound normal that your girlfriends from 12 years ago is in trouble and you automatically invite her and her son to come stay at your house. Couldn’t they have stayed at a hotel nearby? I mean I realize why this was done, but to me it all seemed strange.
Episode 15 starts out with Taha requesting Hira to be nice to Bilal while these guys are there and of course Hira says ok, but these two are always fighting going forward. Once at the office Taha is distracted and can’t find a file. Zara reminds him that he took it home with him. He then tells Zara about what happened to Maira and that’s why he is distracted…and of course Maira over reacts. Apparently it is her birthday and she even wore a new suit that Taha didn’t notice…nor did he remember that it was her birthday. Dear Zara, take a bloody hin!!! This guy doesn’t even remember your birthday!! She even tells Ziad that she is in love with Taha and would never fall for someone like him (Ziad). Of course Ziad relays this to Maira who is now feeling insecure as she suddenly decides to leave Taha’s place. Aisa lagta hai sab pagal hain! Ziad also tells Taha this who then talks to Zara about this. OK, another thing I don’t get. In most of their scenes, Taha and Zara are always in the privacy of his office, but today when Taha rejects Zara and they are having that conversation, why are they standing in the middle of the hall way? Of course after Taha is ‘samjhaeing’ Zara, she understands and says yes to Ziad.
The last 10 minutes of episode 15 were probably the most important. Zara says yes to Ziad, Hira and Bial on their own decides to never fight again as they will miss each other if Bilal leaves, and last but obviously not the least, Taha proposes to Maira.
Mera Pehla Pyar began with such promise…it was fresh, it kept me waiting each week to find out what happens, but somehow the story seemed to have gotten lost in the last few episodes and came back in the last 10 minutes of episode 15. Acting wise, no complaints at all (although I could have done without seeing Maira sleeping with so much make-up even in so much tension). The script sometimes is fantastic and other times it feels like someone completely different has written some parts, and that is the biggest problem. No consistency. Lets see what happens in episode 16.
February seems to be happening month for Hum TV as after a couple of successful projects, the channel is now all set with the new projects to go on air this month. As seen the promo of Tanhai, it is Gohar Mumtaz, A singer and Guitarist from Jal-The Band, who is making his debut as an actor. The drama enjoys a popular cast including Ayesha Omer and Azfar Rehman.
The drama is based on the same trio, which is a must to have feature in all the dramas, but what makes it appealing enough to follow is the fact that it has been shoot pretty well. According to the official page of the drama, here are the latest photos of the celebrities for the promotion of the serial. Have a look!
The photos seem really interesting, though they reveal pretty less about the story. Lets see how far this serial goes in terms of TRPs.
All of you must know by now that this year Hum TV has decided to have its own award function, the nominations for the viewer’s choice award have been made public. Nida already mentioned in her post that out of 32 categories, seven are for the viewer’s to decide who will bag an award. Since my primary interest is in dramas only so I want to share with all of you how I felt about the nominations for viewer’s choice related to the drama industry. First of all lets discuss the nominations for best drama. The nominations are
Best Drama
Maat
Shehr-e-Zaat
Mere Qatil Mere Dildaar
Yahan Pyar Nahi Hai
Roshan Sitara
Bari Apa
Why are plays like Roshan Sitara and Mere Qatil Mere Dildar there and not Hamsafar, Durr-e-Shehwar or Bilquees Kaur? Hamsafar may have been criticized by the critics for its cliché storyline and the stereotyped characters but there is no denying the fact that it was one of the most popular dramas of its time. Hamsafar was not only popular in Pakistan but also in other countries where people watch Pakistani dramas. Durr-e-Shehwar had amazing dialogues, the direction was flawless, the underlying message was in line with our social norms and the acting was top notch, but it almost seems like Durr-e-Shehwar has been left out on purpose, although I see no reason for it except that two of Umera Ahmed’s plays have been nominated already so they did not want to nominate a third one. Bilquess Kaur is another play that deserved to be nominated much more than a drama like Roshan Sitara in particular that was a complete flop because the storyline totally went haywire.
Now take a look at these nominations
Best Actor Female
Mehwish Hayat For Mere Qatil Mere Dildaar
Saba Qamar For Maat
Mahira Khan For Shehrzaat
Sania Saaed For Zard Mausam
Sanam Baloch For Roshan Sitara
Savera Nadeem For Bari Apa
I was definitely expecting that Bushra Ansari would be nominated for Bilquees Kaur but like Durr-e-Shehwar, Bilquees Kaur has also been left out of the nominations although both the plays were incredibly popular among public and these are after all nominations for viewer’s choice! Sanam Baloch has been nominated for Roshan Sitara and not Durr-e-Shehwar, which is somewhat unfair because had she been nominated for Durr-e-Shehwar she had a far greater chance of winning this award. I am not entirely happy with Mehwish Hayat’s nomination too because I think Syra Yusef’s and Sadia Imam’s performances were far more powerful in Bilquees Kaur.
Here is the next category
Best Actor Male
Ahsan Khan For Mere Qatil Mere Dildaar
Adnan Siddiqui For Mere Qatil Mere Dildaar
Noman Ejaz For Bari Apa
Mikaal Zulfiqar For Shehrzaat
Imran Aslam For Sanjha
Faisal Rehmaan For Zard Mausam
Ahsan Khan for Mere Qatil Mere Dildar and not Bilquees Kaur? Mikaal Zulfiqar for Shehr-e-Zaat and not Durr-e-Shehwar? So is Durr-e-Shehwar not going to be nominated in any category and neither is Bilquees Kaur? I am sure many of the viewer’s would have much rather chosen their favorites out of these two plays than any other play.
The last drama related category in Viewer’s Choice is
Best On-screen Couple
Fawad Khan & Mahira Khan For Humsafar
Mikaal Zulfiqar & Mahira Khan For Shehrzaat
Ahsan Khan & Mehwish Hayat For Mere Qatil Mere Dildaar
I may sound like a die hard Durr-e-Shehwar fan but in my opinion Mikaal Zulfiqar and Sanam Baloch deserved to be in this category too. And I would much rather have the option of voting for Ahsan Khan and Syra Yusef for Bilquees Kaur rather than Ahsan Khan and Mehwish Hayat.
These were just some random thoughts about the nominations. What do you people think about these nominations? I think Durr-e-Shehwar, Bilquees Kaur and Hamsafar deserved a little more recognition.
Another beautiful episode! This show is attracting me like a magnet because of its different concept and brilliant depiction. The director Sohail Javed has done a very good job and Mohib and Saba’s performance is worth an applause! They fit perfectly in Shayan and Irfa’s shoes. Whoever casted them did a wonderful job! And last but not the least; Maha Malik’s script is brilliant and unique!
We saw a tragic incident in this episode, the loss of an important person in both Shayan and Irfa’s life. Shayan’s mothers’ death shook both their lives and they sought comfort in each other. But unfortunately, the world never ceases to talk and people objected about Shayan and Irfa staying together in one house. And since Irfa’s wedding was just a few days away she decided to shift to a hostel.
Shayan realized how important Irfa is in his life when he left her at the hostel. He tried to stop her from going but Irfa refused. His dialogue about how sad and upset he was after she left his house showed how much he cares about her. His words ‘Itni takleef to mujhe Ammi ko dafnane mein nahi huwi jitni tumhe chor ke aani mein huwi’ shows his dependence on her. I still do not understand why he is still not agreeing to get married to her. He cares a lot about her and is attached to her the most but still all he cares about is the external beauty! He is not happy to see her with her fiancé and tries to convince her not to get married to someone who is not compatible to her. I loved the scene when her bubble burst and she straight forwardly told him that she loves him a lot but cannot beg for his love as she still has her self respect intact and prefers to get married to someone who would appreciate her. Way to go Irfa!
The death of Shayan’s mother has made Shayan look at life from a different perspective. His attitude towards life has changed and he is no longer seen as a care free person. Shayan even sold his precious paintings to a renowned artist who would forge it and put his own signature and sell the paintings. Shayan was strictly against this but made an exception for Irfa so that he can get the money for Irfa’s wedding.
What a turn of events! As soon as Mahjabeen and her mother saw that Shayan’s paintings are being sold at a very good price, they decided to trap him once again. Apparently, the guy who sent the Dubai proposal turned out to be a fraud and Mahjabeen is trying to win over Shayan again. How pathetic! Shayan is so afraid of his loneliness that he is actually considering getting married to Mahjabeen. Even Irfa tells him to accept the proposal as she knows he cannot live in isolation. Irfa knows him in and out and is aware of the fact that he needs a companion whom he can talk to and someone who can take care of him.
The most hilarious scene of the episode was when Irfa’s fiancé came to meet her. Poor guy kept on asking her to go out with him at least once but he only got Irfa’s straight forward refusal. I could not help but pity him!
On the whole, it was a very enjoyable episode. I hope this show does not lose its fast pace and we get to see more development in the story. Will Shayan finally agree to marry Irfa?
It is about time this show ends! It has been dragging for the past few weeks and has completely lost its charm. I fail to understand how Meesha can trust a stranger and go along with him! I liked the show because of its light heartiness and a refreshing concept, but the introduction of the villain Shah Baba has made the story more dramatic. It looks more like a suspense thriller now!
Meesha and Mayer scenes were hilarious! Mayer’s character is the most disappointing character in the show. Wasn’t he supposed to be the Prince Charming? Instead he has turned out be a rich, spoiled brat who complains about everything and instead of taking care of Meesha when they were stuck at the station, he expected Meesha to look after him. He expected Meesha to sort out all the problems as he was too fragile to do anything. Meesha is also in no mood to forgive him for the way he treated her and finally takes her revenge by giving him a tight slap! Her attitude towards him is cold and she leaves no opportunity to taunt him. Way to go Meesha! It was the best scene of the episode for me! Maya Ali has done a very god job and Osman Khalid Butt’s expressions were extremely comical!
Farjad finally got the guts to free Aimee and the duo were seeing running in the forest. Aimee kept on complaining that she was hungry and her wonderful hairstyle made me stare at her with a look of fascination in my eyes. I cannot believe someone can carry such a hairstyle… I mean hair disaster so well! Why is Aimee so cute? Warda Butt has become one of my favorite comedy actors who can never fail to make you laugh. She has also given a brilliant performance in her other show, Ghaoo where she has played the role of a girl who is mentally challenged. She does not seem like a new comer from any angle as she seems so comfortable in front of the camera.
According to Mayer ‘Meesha has changed’. He does not like the change in Meesha as he does not give him importance anymore. He thinks that she has become proud after getting to know that she belongs to a rich family and now does not consider him worthy of herself. You were not worthy of Meesha before either Mayer! Someone like Zaini is the perfect match for you. I hope they get back together and live Happily Never After! Shah Baba has also started playing his games and is trying to convince Meesha to leave Mayer as he is not worthy of her anymore. I hope Meesha leaves Mayer soon!
Roman has come to Meesha’s’ rescue! After hearing everything from Dado, he goes after Meesha to save her from Shah Baba’s evil plans. Roman also helps Aimee and Farjad when they were running from Shah Baba. He helps them by telling them a place to hide. Roman has become the savior of so many people. I hope Meesha finally sees what a wonderful person he is!
The preview for the next episode seems interesting. Roman finally manages to get into Shah Baba’s house. I am waiting for next week now! I hope we get to see a fast paced episode next week and the show is not dragged for more than one or two more episodes. It will be interesting to watch how Roman saves Meesha from Shah Baba. Keep watching the show!
So finally the last episode of Bari Appa hit our screens last night. It was a complete package but left me feeling heart-broken, no doubt they justified each & everything but I can’t help feel sorry for the main character. I must say that the dialogues were written beyond perfection. At almost each & every scene I kept on thinking how great the dialogues were & how simply such deep feelings were conveyed by the characters.
In this episode I loved all the conversations, be it of Zubaida-Ghazanfar, Firdous-Ghazanfar, Neelam-Sharmeen & in the end that of Farmaan & Zubaida’s. Each and every conversation had so much going on but was executed perfectly. So many dialogues caught my attention & the best one was ‘Qayamat k anay mai aik lamha bhi bohat hota hai’.
Now beginning from the first scene of the episode, Firdous took a right decision in talking to Ghazanfar on her own. No doubt she was worried about their son but their argument lead to their patch up. One thing for sure was commendable about Firdous that even though she thought she had lost her marriage, her husband, her home but still she was worried about their son & how he was being treated by his father. That took Ghazanfar by surprise & he decided to let go of his ego & take Firdous home. All the things that Ghazanfar said to Firdous in order to convince her were so positive & good to listen to. ‘Girra hua nahi, aam insaan se uncha samjha hai, isi liye keh raha hoon ghar chalo’. All such dialogues that Ghazanfar said to Firdous were much needed because she had never given him any reason or chance to have second thoughts about her being his wife. She was always loyal & her life revolved around her husband & their son, so she needed such words from her husband.
Most of the conversations weren’t told & were discussed in between the two characters. Like Neelam’s meeting with Zubaida, Zubaida’s decision which she told to Sharmeen after Fajr & Essa’s confession in front of Adeel, all such conversations were just told through the dialogues & left viewers wondering what they actually spoke about, but it was justified given the time & considering the end of the serial. Otherwise, it would’ve gotten repetitive & would’ve dragged the whole situation because these were the scenes that we had already seen in the previous episodes.
Farmaan left a mark in the previous episode but then once again he became like a puppet who was willing to do everything that Zubaida would suggest. At one point, he even mentioned leaving Neelam which was a downer because she doesn’t deserve to be used as a scapegoat. Coming to Zubaida & Farman’s conversation, I couldn’t stop wondering how fool Zubaida was & how blindfolded she was due to her one-sided first love. All this while, when she was telling Farmaan about her feelings for Ghazanfar, I felt where has her dignity gone & that ego for which she could sacrifice everything? The flash back & all those scenes of reminiscence were worth a laugh & I couldn’t resist myself because Zubaida looked like someone with no sanity. No doubt, I do blame Ghazanfar for being too sweet & at some point flirtatious with her but then like he said he did all that as a token of sympathy, it was Zubaida herself who mistook his feelings all this while & saw what she wanted to see.
How easily she confessed to Ghazanfar without even thinking for a moment that she was still married to Farmaan. Ghazanfar’s assurance of love & care to Firdous reached to a certain level after he confessed everything in front of Zubaida about how he felt for Firdous & how highly he thinks of her. After that scene I felt Ghanzafar’s silence through out was broken but at a perfect time. He gave Zubaida a reality check & the way Zubaida flipped like a coin was so like her. At that moment I was like this is what Zubaida was good at, scheming & covering herself even when she had nothing left in her hand.
& finally talking about the last scene, once again Farman did what was necessary & supported Neelam because all this while she stood by him & thank God he realized it & mentioned it in front of Zubaida. One doubtful thing was that in the previous episode Farman gave Zubaida only one divorce & now when she came back he mentioned that we can not reconcile as I’ve divorced you. This was a thought provoking mistake because I find it a bit odd that how easily they can manipulate the rules & regulations that have been set in regards to the couple getting divorced.
Essa-Sharmeen got back together, there was no scene of Zubaida’s family too. I would’ve loved to see them having a say on Firdous’s reconciliation with her husband or any other scene of them. & I feel I wouldn’t do justice if I do not mention Riffat here. The drama started with her being a strong supporting role but as the drama progressed her role got sub-sided & overshadowed & by the end it was totally non-existent. All this while she was just seen sitting on a sofa without having much to say about anything. I think they shouldn’t have made her such a low profile as the drama was progressing.
& now last thing from my side would be about Zubaida. I know she was dominant, hard-to-be-with kind of a wife, did not love her husband, had her first love etched in her heart but in the end I felt really sorry for her seeing her ending up like this. Why is it that a man can not handle a strong-headed female? Why is it that a man always wants sati-savitri-gungi type of a wife to live a happy life with? Why is it that a woman needs to make all the sacrifices & if she fails the man can easily walk through her like a doormat & start his own life? Why is it that when a woman openly confesses that she loves someone else (after the husband has deceived her) the husband can not tolerate? No doubt Neelam’s was a positive character but Farman should not have let go of Zubaida because it was Farman who deceived his first wife & got married to Neelam without seeking permission of his wife. Zubaida no doubt deep inside loved Ghazanfar but never took any step that would hurt her husband or her family but it was Farmaan who drove her to this situation. I know many might not agree but when Farman spent 25 years acting according to how Zubaida wanted & all this while he knew that Zubaida had Ghazanfar in her heart, so he could have forgiven this bit of her mistake too. I know she took a very big step & stepped out of the house but why did Farman beg her to stay? Either he should have stood by his decision when he gave her a divorce so that she wouldn’t have come back or he shouldn’t have begged her to stay. I actually disliked Zubaida but after the end I feel absolutely sorry for her because why is it always that a man can not handle a head-strong woman who makes her own decisions? By saying this I am not approving of her going out of the house to be with Ghazanfar but all the other things she did for Farman are worth a consideration.
Anyhow, I feel that Hum TV should for sure conduct a show to appreciate the whole team & should dedicate a show to Bari Appa because it had so much to offer, so much originality & the best of the best characters performed by best actors who will remain with us in our memories for a long long time. We always see Hum TV conducting shows after the most-hyped programs end like Humsafar & Shehr-e-Zaat, so I feel this project named Bari Appa deserves that much of an acknowledgement from the channel too. I thank the whole team starting from the writer to the director to the actors for making this serial what is it today. Going to miss it for sure.
2012 has been way too lucky for Hum Network, making it the King of Drama Industry in the race of Channels. It was the same year when the legendary Humsafar, Maat, ShehreZaat, Mere Qatil Mere Dildar and many more dramas made Hum TV one of the most watched channels in not only Pakistan but across the world. Celebrating the success, HumTV recently announced the Hum Awards in order to pay a tribute to the characters and the artists who contributed their best in making it possible.
If you go back to the time when Pakistan was all occupied by the Indian Market, watching Star Plus as the only channel to watch dramas, Star Parivar Awards were much awaited as compared to the iifa or Lux awards. Things have changed, and so has the time, now Pakistani Audience loves its local dramas and is now looking fot the award ceremony.
There are 32 categories of the awards, among which 7 categories are left for viewers to decide the winner, Here are the nominations of the 7 categories where you can decide who was the best. Have a look!

The model-turned-actress Ayesha Omar has recently experienced a push up in the opportunities been offered to her through which her acting skills got some limelight. The ‘Khoobsorat’ of Bulbulay, and ‘Sara’ of Zindagi Gulzar hai has finally decided to concentrate more on her singing.
While giving an interview about her performance in one of the highly rated comedy shows, Bulbulay, she said that she is really thankful to the audience and her fans for appreciating her role and performance in the show but it is all for now. The actress said that she has realized that after Lollywood, she has also figured it out that acting is what that is not making her as happy as her singing satisfies her.
Ayesha is looking forward to her singing career and hoping to have a great response from her followers as she said, “Fans will have something different very soon and hope they will like me as a singer”.
We would surely miss watching her on screen more, but wish her wholeheartedly for her singing,
There are many actors in Pakistan who have been trying really hard to establish their Bollywood career by picking small roles that are been offered to them, though small enough to match their skills. While few actors suffer through this, there are actors who are enjoying a good fame and response as an actor in the neighboring country, among them Javed Sheikh is the most popular one.
An Actor by nature and a producer by profession, Javaid Sheikh is a well-known Celebrity who is also cherished in India for his acting skills. He has been working with super stars of India in her movies like Shikkar, Om Shanti Om, Jannat, Namsate London, etc. According to the Social network, Javaid Sheikkh has recently signed his next Bollywood movie Commando, starring Vidyut Jamwal and Pooja Chopra in the lead role. By now, Javaid has always made his countrymen proud of him for his flawless performance in Indian movies and it is to be hoped that he made his selection wisely.
Kaash Aisa Ho is a new drama airing on ARY Digital. The teasers and promos did manage to capture my interest and the show did not disappoint me either. The story is written by Maha Malik and the show is directed by Sohail Javed. The cast includes Saba Qamar, Mohib Mirza, Shahood Alvi, Zainab Qayyum (ZQ), Jugun Kazim, Tahira Imam, Ali Sikander, Jahanzeb Gurchani, Sana Askari and Syeda Yasra Rizvi.
The beautiful shayari in the OST and promos made me wonder about the story of this new show. At first glance, it seemed like the same old story in which the male lead is seen cheating on the female lead but the story turned out to be different than what I expected.
Saba Qamar plays the role of Irfa who is a simple and sensible girl and her life revolves around only one person; her cousin Shayan. She is an orphan who lives with her Khala and her son Shayan. She has been in love with her cousin almost all her life and has a good rapport with him. But unfortunately, Shayan has no interest in her because she lacks one trait that he worships, and that is beauty. This hurts Irfa the most, but she decides to move on and get married to someone else. She then gets engaged to a man who is in no way compatible to her.
Mohib Mirza plays the role of Shayan who is shown as a care free painter with a very casual attitude towards life. He is obsessed with beauty like any other artist and that is why he rejects his cousin Irfa, who lives with him and his mother in their house. He is well aware of Irfa’s feelings towards him but chooses to ignore them. He teases her mercilessly but also cares about her the most. He then gets engaged to the pretty Mahjabeen, who happens to be his neighbor. Shayan extremely dislikes Nasir (Irfa’s fiancé) as he does not consider him worthy of Irfa. At some level, he is guilty about rejecting Irfa and wants her to be happy in her life.
Juggan Kazim plays the role of Mahjabeen who happens to be the neighbor of Shayan and later gets engaged to him. She always had a problem with Irfa and Shayan’s friendship and used to get jealous of Irfa whenever she saw her with Shayan. However, she calls off the engagement when she sees that Shayan has no future, as he never sticks to one job for more than a week. She then engaged to someone else.
The first three episodes had a good pace and have totally hooked me to the show. I am curious to know what happens next. It seems like Shayan will eventually get married to Irfa but will never appreciate her or accept her love because for him, the most important thing is beauty which Irfa lacks. Now what circumstances will make him agree to marry her is still a mystery! I am also curious to know the role of Shahood Alvi, Yusra Rizvi and Sana Askari. I am waiting for the story to unfold and introduce all the characters.
Mohib Mirza’s performance so far has been brilliant. He completely gels into the character of Shayan; even his look is perfect for this role. Saba Qamar as the simple and loving Irfa manages to win one’s heart and as usual Saba Qamar has given her best. Kaash Aisa Ho seems like a show with a lot of potential. I will definitely recommend everyone to give this show a chance.
And lastly, a special mention for the beautiful OST ‘Kaash Aisa Ho Ke Ab Ke Bewafai Mein Karoon’ which is sung by Humera Channa. The OST is soothing and the beautiful lyrics written by Sabir Zafar manage to make the listener sing along. I hope this show manages to leave the viewers impressed! Keep watching this show!
“Aisi Biwi aur betiyan naseeb walon ko hi milti hei, so so betu pe bhari hoti hei aisi betiyan”
Rafia’s hard work finally paid off and it was good to see that people who know the family gave her the entire credit. Even the Taya abu who was the one who asked Murtaza to get married to Nigar because Rafia could not give him a son acknowledges that one should not distinguish between children on the basis of gender. The sarcasm and truth in Rafia’s dialogue “maan baap ka kaamyeh hi hota hai ke apni aulad ki zindigian bana dein aur maa baap ko apne bacho ki zindigian banana chahyeh. Lurki ya lurke honay ki waja se kismet ke bare mei peeshangoyan nahi kurni chahyeh, na hi maa baap ko, na hi khandan ko aur na hi mashray ko” was spot on. I am glad she did not let Taya off the hook easily until he admitted that he was wrong! Murtaza like expected has taken an about turn and the sudden change of heart was so extreme that I was taken by surprise. I knew that Murtaza would go running to Rafia’s house after hearing the news but the way he was worried about Shehnila and the insult he put up with without even feeling bad about it for a second truly went to prove that this man has no character. Kashaf was so right when she told her mother that she should stop telling her all that her father was willing to do for her now because it would just take away the little respect that Kashaf may have for him. Waseem Abass is perfect as Murtaza, his expressions, dialogue delivery and body language, everything is flawless. Samina Peerzada is equally brilliant and no matter how many times you hear her deliver a dialogue you fail to find faults in her acting.
Sir Ibrar is much closer to Kashaf’s heart than her father ever will be because he has been a father figure and a mentor to her and most importantly because he was there for her when she needed him the most. Kashf believes in him and that has to be a huge deal! When Kashaf was writing her diary she complains that there has always been dearth of “mohabaat aur shafqat” in her life, she obviously fails to see that she is surrounded by people who love her. She acknowledges sir Ibrar’s love and concern for her but cannot appreciate the love her mother and sisters have always given her. I think it is only human to take people who have always been there for you for granted especially when you have been through so much.
Zaroon disappointed me yet again today when he talked about Sara’s stuborness even before Farhan could muster up the courage to share what happened between him and Sara with him. I thought he was more mature than that, He may think that Sara is wrong but she is after all his sister and telling her fiancé so bluntly that he knew Sara was wrong was very inappropriate. If Zaroon has a problem with Asmara’s outings, he should talk to her about it rather than not talking to her. It is almost as if Zaroon has given up on Asmara but where is this relationship going then?
I was having a discussion with a very close friend the other day and she rightly pointed out that the change in Ghazala’s behavior all of a sudden is strange. She is still not willing to compromise as far as Sara’s situation is concerned but all of a sudden she is always in the house and so worried about Zaroon. Before she was too busy and did not have time for anyone in the house and we saw Zaroon having dinners alone too. Another thing that is strange is that the family which hardly ever communicates and has no closeness always sits together for dinner or tea. In the beginning we were made to feel like everyone in Zaroon’s family leads their own life but now things have changed for no apparent reason. I find the change in Ghazala’s character just as funny as Zaroon and his father did. Talking about Zaroon’s father, it is strange the way he has hardly been a part of what is going on in Sara’s life. Sara’s mother may give her wrong advice but at least she is there to listen and intervene.
All the actors did a commendable job today and overall I really enjoyed this episode, although like always few scenes could have been shorter. Some of the dialogues today were extraordinary; I wish I could mention them all here. Things are moving on fast now and Kashaf and Zaroon will finally meet in the next episode, eagerly looking forward to that!
Oh boy, so this episode of Silvatein was totally based on the marriage proposal & the confusion attached to it. At one point it was interesting to see & on the other it left me thinking what was going on? I couldn’t understand at some points & then a few points were clear.
Zeb’s now regretting after she has convinced her Pupho to be with them. The whole family is shaky because of her decision to stay. The episode over all was well directed & executed but then it had a few loopholes as well. Firstly, I couldn’t quite get Natasha’s attitude? She is involved with this guy, with whom she is either on the phone at 3 AM in the morning or on the messages. She has told him all about her family & the timely tiffs she has with her sister Zeb. But then later, at his mention of the proposal we saw her getting irritated & later asked Zeb to get her rid of him? What sort of an attitude or nature is that? Then on the phone she spoke to him about getting settled in UK, USA, Australia or Canada, which left me thinking that she is a practical opportunist who wanted to convince that guy to move abroad especially after she got to know that Zeb has gotten a proposal of an American national. Her dialogue that Zeb gets everything perfect was a but awful. Who thinks on all such lines when the whole family is just in a state to get to know more about the guy only?
Zeb’s mention of her Green Card was nothing new. These are the two words that we, Pakistanis do hear ever since we are born. No matter if we don’t understand what the Green Card is but we know that something of that sort exists. These days it is something even worth considering if one is planning to get married. Guys flaunt about it & girls tend to get touchy, wondering they have conquered the whole world after getting it & if anyone approaches them for marriage, they are definitely interested in the Green Card. No doubt, this was a materialistic depiction but was an exact representation of the reality that prevails in our society.
The whole rishta thing was totally confusing but was handled perfectly. The timing of the scenes was perfect & the revelation too. First, Pupho mentions about the rishta for Zeb, however Bilal’s family is talking about Natasha. It left me wondering that how can her Pupho commit such a mistake. That was the first confusion that arose in my mind. Later Zeb called Bilal saying she was Natasha. At that point I thought this was such a huge flaw because Pupho didn’t mention that they were interested in Natasha but how come Zeb got to know about it? But then later I understood that definitely Zeb didn’t want to openly talk about the proposal with the guy, that’s why she used her sister’s name. Then another twist was before the actual meeting. Pupho got to know that her friend has talked about Natasha to the guy’s family but Pupho just wanted to cover her mistake as she wanted this proposal for her favourite niece Zeb that’s why she was persistent that Natasha shouldn’t come in front of the guests & convinced Zeb that she shouldn’t get worked up if they called her with some other name.
The whole situation was funny but was totally confusing. It was a wise decision that Bilal’s sister spoke about the whole thing in front of Bilal & her mother & the viewers weren’t left solving the riddles themselves, because at one point I really felt it was nothing less than a puzzle, but then everything settled in perfectly. Pupho is someone who pays less heed to where she should be responsible but pays extra attention to the minute details involving others, just so that she can nitpick.
Most of the conversations were written very nicely because I could actually feel the reality every dialogue held. Nothing was fictional or unrealistic, exaggerated or anything. The actors have acted each & every scene perfectly. The one thing that made this drama appeal to me was how naturally everything was unfolded in front of the viewers where they all can relate to it, either in terms of the situations or the conversations. I am definitely looking out for more especially Pupho’s character which can get annoying but has a humour related to it too. Till now Natasha’s character is failing to leave any impression. I thought she was introvert but was honest, but in the episode it got a bit more clarified that she is silent but is planning a lot, she wants everything perfect for her that too according to her taste, however Zeb is a bit outspoken, independent but she is honest & submissive, which makes me like her character a lot more. Plus a little suggestion that with such a haircut, Natasha looks better with the tied hair, I think she shouldn’t wear her hair down because it doesn’t give her a feminine look.
Have your say on the whole confusion readers. :) Keep Supporting, Cheers, Zahra Mirza.
Ayza has single handedly managed to brew up a storm and play havoc with everyone’s life. The biggest issue in these two episodes was Ayza’s car getting wrecked and the second biggest issue was Aima’s wedding to Hashim. Also, the problems related to Hamza and Hamnah’s marriage are a direct outcome of Hammad and Ayza’s grand wedding and Hamnah’s parents are right in thinking that this won’t be the first and last wish of Hamza’s parents. What a sad state of affairs. Except for Ayza none of the children take into consideration their parent’s wishes, which puts them in a very difficult situation. Hamnah and Hamza talk to each other so just like Ayza Hamza has managed to convince his fiancé too that they are not asking for much.
Hammad has been doing whatever he could do please Ayza ever since the two started talking to each other and now that they are married Ayza has no problem in showing Hammad and his family just how controlling, dominating and stubborn she is. I was surprised when Akbari asked Ayza to go back to her house, good to know that there is someone who can convince her! At the same time I was terribly disappointed in her when she lied to Hashim’s mother. The blatant lie she told her about Nasir not wanting both the sisters to get married in the same house was very upsetting. How can a grandmother do this to her granddaughter? I really do not understand that how can Aima getting married in the same house be troublesome for Ayza.
I really felt for Rafia in this episode, happiness is short lived and it did not take her long to find out that Ayza is not her good luck charm after all! I must mention something here that I actually liked about Ayza. Every time she overheard something or found out about something, she confronted or asked the person concerned immediately and did not keep it to herself. Even if all of it led to more problems but that is one characteristic of her character that stood out for me. For example when she overhears her Mother in law telling the neighbor that she wanted Hashim and Aima to get married, she immediately asked her Mother in Law about it. Normally in dramas if someone hears something like this, they will pretend they don’t know and confide in the person they trust most or start planning something in their own mind. Second example would be when she saw Anila’s call in Hammad’s phone, she asked him right afterwards. Also, when she found out the truth about her car and decided to leave the house she told everyone that she had found out. This of course is part of her blunt nature but something that I think is different from what we see normally.
One thing was proved today that Hammad is a very good liar! I was actually surprised at the way he immediately covered up for himself when Ayza asked him about Anila and later on how he lied to her about the car. I wonder where the Hammad/Anila track is going; right now it seems quite unnecessary. Mikaal Zulfiqar is a very good actor, he has done wonders in many plays but he does not seem to be giving his best to this particular character; it is definitely not coming easily to him and sometimes the dialogue delivery can be very flat.
Akbari’s double standards were yet another shocking revelation. Ayza is so liberal and Akbari never has a problem with anything she does but when it comes to Aima and Hashim she is constantly judging Aima and her parents.
The scene where everyone shouts at Zain one by one after the accident was rather odd. Everyone had something to say and they said it one after the other. But that does not change the fact that I actually felt for him and could totally imagine the youngest kid in particular being put through all this.
Overall, these two episodes were strictly okay. Mirat-ul-Uroos has its strengths and weaknesses. The strengths are that it the characters are well etched out and extremely relatable and it is a family drama. For me the biggest weakness of this play besides the predictable track has to be that most of the actors playing the lead do not fit in their roles. All these actors have proved their mettle time and again but in this particular play they seem like misfits. Sometimes very average scripts and characters are made memorable because they are acted out so well and sometimes one is just left wondering. I will however continue watching Mirat ul Uroos because it may not be a perfect package but it is also not the kind of play that can totally be missed once you start watching it.
A drama or a play can only revolve around two characters, the hero and the heroine if the drama is especially been directed for the valentines day. However, not every day of the year is the 14th of February and hence the reality of our drama industry is the fact that the plots of the story relate to the people of the society in a way or so and for that, every character of the serial is equally important.
Having said so, Let us focus on the roles that are been played by the senior actresses in the dramas, who make the project a real hit through their flawless acting skills and experience in the field. It is a fact that not all the actors are versatile enough to carry every role accordingly, but according to my best observation, the following actresses can perform pretty well in any role been offered to them, ranging from a helpless, poor widow to a wicked, social woman. Have a look!
[lwptoc]
1) Samina Pirzada
Samina has always kept her fans bind to her through her amazing acting skills. Partially because of her acting and partially because of the presence of an ‘X-factor’ in her personality, Samina is always having a never ending list of offers. From her wicked role in Meri Zaat Zaraa-e-Benishaan and Ghao, her confused state in Mera Naseeb, an old, sensible lady in Shehr-e-Zaat, a spirit in ‘The Ghost’ and a strong woman in Zindagi Gulzar hai, Samina knows which mode to ON as per the needs of the role.
2) Badar Khalil
The ‘Aani’ of Tanhaiyaan, the Lady that suits in every role, Badar Khalil is one of the most talented actresses in the Pakistani Drama industry. Badar Khalil owns a unique style of delivering the dialogues which seems very natural and resembles to that of one of your aunties too, I am Sure. Her acting in Qudusi Sahab ki Bewaah is something that was totally a surprise to me. Badar Khaleel enjoys a graceful personality and hence she is one of the most liked celebrities within the nation.
3) Bushra Ansari
Bushra is a perfect example of a multi-talented artist. Just like Samina Pirzada,Bushra Ansari has her own way of picking up the role and molding her personality onscreen accordingly. Her acting skills in Bilquees Kaur, Mera Naseeb,Aini ki Ayegi Barat deserve an applause. Bushra is really a treasure for the industry.
4) Shamim Hilali
This Lady is truly an artist. What I like the most about is her outstanding simplicity, which is feature owned by her only. Her most memorable performances came in the dramas ‘Maigh Malhaar’, which aired on former channel STN and ‘Sophia’, which was a very popular drama on PTV. Being a senior actress, Shamim’s performances do not make her seem like an actress but a natural performer. Its always a pleasure watching her on screen, whether it be in Maat, Uraan or Talkhiyaan.
5) Saba Hameed
“Azam, Aap Agaye..?” is something I would never forget about Saba Hameed, after all that’s what I remember first about her, that is her Flawless performance in Family Front. Seems like Hina Dilpazeer of Bulbulay is a new version of the hilarious Family front team. Saba Hameed is a capable actress who is good in everything she does on screen. However, it is a pity that such a wonderful actress is suffering through typecasting where every next role been offered to her is of a cruel mother-in-law just like in Main Abdul Qadir hun, Qaid-e-Tanhai and Ik Tamana Lahasil, on the top of the list. Believing that Saba Hameed would soon be seen in something new and exciting, it is to say that we, as an audience still rates her on top of the list.
6) Rubina Ashraf
Rubina Ashraf is a great actress who keeps entertaining her audience through her acting skills. Though her acting in her new serial Parchaiyaan didn’t enjoy good rating, she is still very close to the hearts of the viewers. Her performance as Inspector Shehla is something that is kind of a historical piece of work.
7) Hina Dilpazeer
Momo has created a new world in the field of comedy, especially when the drama industry is suffering through a really bad taste in terms of comedy. Hina, who started her career very late has proven that talent has no age. Her acting or perhaps the masterpiece of work in Bulbulay will always be remembered by the viewers and the next generation. Bulbulay seems like CID of the neighboring country. It keeps on repeating, the viewers keep on watching it!
8) Hina Bayat
I, personally like Hina’s acting a lot, probably because of the fact that I have been adoring her for her personality and dressing since she first appeared on screen in a discussion program called,Uljhan Suljhan. Being a writer herself, Hina’s columns are what I really love to read. Coming to her acting, It seems that she takes her acting career really serious and tries to work hard accordingly.
Although there are many other senior celebrities like Fazila Qazi, Shagufta Ejaz, but the above stated 8 females are one of those who can be awarded for laying the foundation of acting in the country. Please feel free to share your favorite senior celebrities too :)
Although Valentine’s Day is not even remotely linked with our Culture, beliefs or religion but for some strange reason every year this day is celebrated with unprecedented zeal and zest in all the developed cities of Pakistan. Even people who are not literate and do not live in posh areas know the spirit behind the day and celebrate it. Pakistani channels go an extra mile to add to this trend by dedicating their morning shows to Valentine’s Day and coming up with special plays and telelfilms for the occasion. We see many photo shoots of artists which are designed especially for this day and special ad campaigns are also very common. The shops and markets are filled with Valentine’s Day special promotions; gifts, flowers, cards, discounts, you name it. When one steps into the market you are instantly reminded of the day whether you want to celebrate it or not. PEMRA has taken a very bold step by ordering all satellite television channels; entertainment or News/ FM stations to not to air any special programs that promote Valentine’s Day in any way. The main reason for this action is that most of the people feel that Valentine’s Day is not our social or cultural festival but is in fact against our culture and tradition which is based on conservatism.
Openly accepting a tradition like Valentine’s Day is like flouting our own values and mocking our traditions. What example are we setting for the future generation? And to say that Valentine’s Day can also be celebrated by showing love to one’s spouse, parents, sibling, grandparents etc is a very lame explanation because if we must follow the day we should also know that the spirit behind the day is not this. In our society people respect their families and also give them sufficient time in normal days too in order to show their affection so why blindly follow a rat race?
Today thousands of protesters gathered in Peshawar in order to show their discontent with the freedom and opportunities that were openly being provided to the youth in order to celebrate Valentine’s Day. They suggested that since we are Muslims and belong to a society that normally follows basic principles of Islam then why can’t we celebrate a “Day of Modesty’? A very valid point indeed. In the past few years in particular the Valentine’s Day celebrations have been done more openly and enthusiastically on television. One of the reasons for this also is that media has been liberalized and there are no strict checks and balances on what the television channels were showing like they were before. But I have to say that media should exercise and enjoy this freedom with great responsibility and take into consideration the feelings and sentiments of the masses. The Pakistani media should represent the Pakistani people.
I support the action taken by PEMRA and also think that there should be further check on the activities of Valentine’s Day. The way our shops promote the day and the price hike that suddenly occurs one day before the day is ridiculous. The flower prices go up to 40 percent and more on 14th February. We as a nation have our family values intact and would want that our social values should stay intact too. I think PEMRA’s action should be the first step towards the right direction but a lot more needs to be done in order to put a stop to the craze with which people celebrate this day.
Anything that comes from Mehreen Jabbar is capable of creating a hype at first and winning the hearts of the viewers, leaving them with a thought to consider in their lives. Mehreen Jabbar’s new long play is under the process and would soon be aired on Television. Ghoonghat, been written by Mohammad Ahmed and directed by Mehreen, is a long play that focuses on a major issue that persists in our society.
Although not much has been revealed about the play. The cast and few clicks of the project have been leaked on social media which has taken the arrival of the project open arms. The cast makes the play more interesting where you would see Mansha Pasha, the Younger sister of Kashaf in Zindagi Gulzar hai in a lead role. The writer of the play, Mohammad Ahmed, Bushra Ansari and Hasan Noman are also a part of the project.
Here are a few photos from the set of Ghoonghat. Have a look!
The play seems to have something out of the box, lets see how the audience takes it.
Dil-e-Muztar is one of those dramas in the waiting list of the upcoming dramas of this year which has created a good audience through its promos that are been aired on HUM Network. We shared a detailed article about the new serial which reflects its intensity through the dialogues that are showcased in the promo. Just like all previous projects, Momina Duraid has made sure that not a single ingredient is missed in this production. The Director, Shehzad Kashmiri seems to enjoy one of the best opportunities given to him and according to the reviews that are circulating in the drama industry, DIl-e- Mmuztar is a very well-directed serial.
As seen. the drama holds an interesting cast, having Imran Abbas, Sarwat Gillani, Sanam Jung and Humayun Saeed, including other flawless actors like Saba Hameed,Ismat Zaidi, Rabia Naaureen. Imran Abbas has made his come back to the Pakistani Drama industry after suffering from a real bad time in the neighboring country. This is not the first time that Imran Abbas would be seen on screen with Sarwat, in fact both of them were also seen in Meri Zaat Zara-e-Benishan.
Here are few rare snaps of the celebrities of the serial who are excited about their new project. Have a look!

So finally that moment arrived that we all were waiting for. Everything seemed to be in it’s place & the pace of the episode seemed perfect too. Plus there were some really good twists & turns that we didn’t see coming.
Sherry finally understood that he & Anum are two different people who have nothing in common. All he could think of was Zoyee. Mariam understood how he felt but still she was persistent at convincing him to get engaged to Anam. I think it would’ve been better if any one of the family member stood by him or supported him, of all the people I didn’t expect Mariam to force Sherry into getting committed considering the fact that she knew about Sherry’s feelings for Zoya, at least she should have supported Sherry but then again she is new to the family so that’s why she wanted to play safe & in-line to what the rest of the family was expecting.
Zoya on the other hand was restless & down. She might not have admitted but it is pretty evident now that she has fallen for Sherry as well, or may not have fallen for him but has liked him ever since because he was her first best, boy friend whom she endeared the most. The way she was spaced out was something which had to be shown because her feelings can not be set aside as well.
Finally, unwillingly Sherry reached to Anam’s place & confessed how he felt about her. Anam was shattered but then I felt sorry for her as well because no doubt, she threw herself at Sherry but couldn’t succeed. To drop the idea of engagement that too at the last moment would be something which no one would ever imagine. Sherry could have prevented it all from happening because even though Anam is a negative character, she shouldn’t have gone through so much.
At last the fact has been revealed to Mr. Kamal that Sherry took this decision because of Zoya. The thing that caught me off-gaurd was Ansar’s suggestion, I must say this was definitely something which I never expected. This twist does seem interesting because just to resist & then later agreeing to their relation wouldn’t make the drama more interesting. Ansar has such an evil mind I must say. His suggestion was spot-on & now I really don’t know what Zoya would have to face. I am glad that Ansar’s flick with the office girl Seema got discovered by another evil person Zeeshan. Only he can tackle Ansar, given their history.
I see the drama getting a bit more dramatic but for sure interesting. & at last Sherry’s confession to Zoya. It was something sweet, no doubt that the dialogues were something which we have heard a lot & looked like another scene from the movie ‘Meinne Pyaar Kiya’ where the guy confesses ‘tum hasti ho to mai hasta hoon, tum roti ho to mai rota hoon’. Whatever Sherry said to Zoya was exactly on the same line with a little different words but finally I am glad he didn’t hold back & we didn’t see any such communication gap where he is not being able to talk to her & she is holding herself back. Their conversation was short, a bit intense BUT to the point.
Once again Mrs. Kamal’s character failed to leave any impact even in such a tense situation. All we saw her was just standing there uselessly. Once again her dialogue was ‘Aggar Sherry ko Zoya pasand hoti to wo mujhe batata’. How can she say all this after Sherry clearly told her at the beach that he is ready to make a commitment to Zoya? I fail to understand the importance of her character. She is just someone who is there to complete the family photo without having much to say. When the drama started I looked forward to her character more because she always spoke what she felt & that too most of the time in negation to what Mr. Kamal’s point was but she was always right & someone very likeable but now as the story has progressed her dialogues are less & even those dialogues seem unnecessary.
Anyhow, over all a great episode with much drama that we all were waiting for, I enjoyed watching it thoroughly. The preview was great too. Now we’d have more of Shahzeb to see, I hope he clarifies his position in front of Sherry after all the chaos. & I’d have to say it once again that I totally dislike Anam’s character. Ekh!
Our visitors love to see celebrity pictures so here are a few more pictures for you that you may or may not have seen on the web before. It is always good to see our favorite celebrities having a good time with their family and friends in particular. We hope that you will enjoy looking at them.
Phew! It’s about time they revealed all the secrets. The show is dragging too much now. Finally all the secrets are out in the open. We already knew about Meesha’s parents from the previous episodes. Her father was a healer who went against Shah Baba and was murdered by him. Now we know how Saifullah came into the picture. Saifullah knew Meesha’s father and had offered him to take her to the city with him. After his death, he somehow managed to take her away from Shah Baba who wanted Meesha to marry his son, Farjad. Interesting! I never could have thought the background story would be like this. Faiza Iftikhar has come up with a brilliant story and these additional parts have made the story even more interesting.
We saw Shah Baba finally coming to Mayer’s house to take Meesha with him. He convinced everyone of his web of lies that he is related to Meesha and wants to give her her share of inheritance. Meesha was at first reluctant to go with him but Mayer was able to convince her as he told her that if she goes, no one would be able to point fingers at her family background. This made Meesha agree but she still sought Dado’s permission but thanks to Zaini, she could not even meet Dado. Meesha is in serious trouble now as Shah Baba will force her to marry Farjad and the hoity toity Mayer would not be able to save her. Mayer already smells something is fishy about Shah Baba. Personally, I have started to seriously dislike his character. First, he raised his hand at Meesha and now we got to see the spoiled brat side of him. He expects Meesha to simply forget about the slap after his so called apology by which he managed to make Meesha even more upset. Well Mayer, Meesha does not forgive anyone so easily! She wants to give him the same treatment that he gave her. Way to go Meesha!
Roman will surely be Meesha’s savior. Dado has revealed everything to him and now he is the last hope to save Meesha from the evil clutches of Shah Baba! I hope he reaches in time to save Meesha. Bano’s attitude towards Meesha has completely changed after she got to know Meesha’s family background. Previously, Meesha did not meet her standards and she could not digest her son marrying a girl like her. But now it is enough for her to know that Meesha belongs to a rich family to change her opinion. Now according to her “Mayer and Meesha are soul mates”. How pathetic!
The person who was the most shocked by this news was Meher. She could not digest the fact that Meesha could belong to such a rich family. She now regrets all the words she had said to Saifullah, and blames Dado for not telling them about this before. Thanks to Zaini’s carelessness, Dado is in a very bad state. She made Roman promise that he would take care of Meesha and bring her back safely.
Roman finally raised his voice and told a big ‘NO’ to Surraiya. He clearly told her that he would never marry her. It’s about time he stopped being black mailed by her. She finally kicked him out of her house and he is now free to go wherever he wants. Another scene worth mentioning is of Aimee and Farjads’. Farjad finally gathered the guts to release Aimee from the prison. Warda Butt once again gave a brilliant performance. She is very talented and has the potential to go very far.
The show has revealed its climax now the ending is near and you wouldn’t want to miss a single episode! How will Roman save Meesha from Shah Baba now? I can’t wait for the next episode!
We saw new twists and turns in this episode. Amazing performances by Sana Askari and Meher Bano! They both have played their roles brilliantly and it gets better with each episode. Fahad Mustafa was also superb as usual! Deeba has made every possible attempt to make Umama’s life miserable and Umama stands her rude behavior and cruelty silently to maintain the peace in the house. Umama’s never ending patience and obedient behavior seems surreal at times. Does people like Umama still exists in our society? She is fulfilling all the demands of Deeba without uttering a single word or complaining. Umama’s over obedient nature is managing to irk me now!
Aqeela’s behavior towards Umama has changed yet again. Deeba has won her over yet again through the means of her money. Deeba is also trying to win over Murad by her money. She just cannot stand Umama helping him during his financial crises and she herself gave him 35 lakhs. That’s a lot of money! Murad is completely in debt now and is grateful to Deeba for her help. Now he is bound by the debt and has to stand Deeba’s rude behavior towards him and his family quietly. However, he cannot stand Deeba’s rude behavior with his daughters and I was glad to see that he still speaks up against Deeba when she mistreats them. Umama seems happy and satisfied that Murad always protect his daughters. Umama does not speak up for her own rights but when it comes to her daughters she always speaks up.
Aqeela’s sudden change in attitude towards Deeba was a complete disappointment. She immediately forgave Deeba for all her rude words and treatment when she helped Murad financially. She does not even feel ashamed to ask Umama to do all of Deeba’s chores. Umama is practically treated like a servant in the house and Murad never notices or cares. Deeba ordered Umama to pick up all the dishes when her friends came and Umama did everything quietly. How pathetic!
Umama was seen at the constant beck and call of Deeba when she was expecting. Her burden further increased as she had to fulfill every demand of Deeba at the behest of her mother in law. Deeba did not lift a finger and Umama was seen looking after everybody. Murad is tired of Deeba’s rude behavior but his hands are bound by the debt and by his wish for a son. Will Murad’s attitude towards his daughters change when he gets a son? Will he able to do justice with Umama and her daughters? How long will Umama be able to stand this treatment from everybody in the house? So many questions need to be answered. Hope we get all the answers soon.
The highlight of the episode was the father daughter bonding. Murad still loves his daughters and it was a delight to see him spending some quality time with them. I personally love his eldest daughter. She is so mature for her age. She takes care of everybody around her; her younger sisters, her mother and father as well as her Dadi. Umama’s upbringing reflects in her behavior. Her acting is superb! It is really not easy to make a child artist act unless there is natural talent in them and this young girl has a lot of talent. It is refreshing to see new faces of child artists as it was tiring to see the old faces in every other serial.
The drama is nearing towards its end. I am eagerly waiting to see what happens next in this serial! Will things get worse for Umama now? Will she lose Murad’s support too?
So here’s another story about two sisters Zeb & Natasha. After seeing so many dramas based on the sister rivalry, when the first scene started I was like ohkay here we have another one of that kind. But amazingly that whole thing changed as the episode progressed.
Zeb is an extrovert, 29 y/o unmarried working girl who is the favourite one of all & Natasha is kind of introvert & reserved. Two sisters are definitely different. Coming from a house full of sisters I could so much relate to their relation. Sisters, at one moment are best buddies sharing secrets & at the very next moment are in the competition, with one another. All the leg-pulling, light hearted sarcasm that those two shared seemed so much in place & perfect. That is how this relation in particular can be described. I am actually amazed at how easily & realistically they showed the relation of the sisters. I am glad finally we don’t have another drama based on the unrealistic story where one sister is the victim & the other one is a husband-grabber. This drama definitely came as a fresh air where two sisters have their own characters, a unique sort of a relation & are totally appeasing to see.
The first episode seemed promising & had a tint of humour to it too. They have a very peaceful family with two daughters & the real game begins when the Pupho has arrived & is planning to stay with them for good. Zeb’s regret for being extra sweet was worth a laugh. Pupho seems like a person with a dominating nature. She is obviously someone who’s hard to please & is looking for nitpicking especially where her brother’s wife is involved. Zeb’s father seemed like a calm person who has the stamina to ignore his sister’s dominance or may be he doesn’t even notice. The conversation which the couple exchanged in regards to Pupho was so nicely done, where the wife is complaining & the husband is unable to see how she was being taunted by his sister.
All the table talks looked so simple yet real that I couldn’t stop wondering how nicely they have portrayed the truth. ‘Gosht accha hai but lehssan k jalne ki halki si smell hai’. This line described so many of such relatives that each one of us come across. There are a few relatives & at times the immediate ones who are displeased with almost anything which one does & all the frustration comes out at the dinning table where they really can not ignore even the non-existent mistake. The bhabhi-nand relation is shown perfectly where one woman always has a few issues of her own with the other. Where one really can not comment but is suffering within herself. I am sure as the story will progress, we’ll have a lot more see & discuss.
Natasha is obviously involved with a guy & is cut off from the rest of the world. She has a support of her mother but no one else actually connects with her. Zeb on the other hand knows how to be loved & how to give love. I find Zeb’s character absolutely interesting. So far, I have no issues with anything which has been portrayed. Till now it looks totally realistic & relate-able & I thoroughly enjoyed the whole episode. Can’t wait to see what’s coming up in the next episode. I hope this writing of Samira Fazal leaves a mark on the viewers too.
February seems a happening month in the drama industry of Pakistan where new projects are emerging on the screen, offering the viewers a variety to see this year. Adding a new name in the list, Seema Ghazal’s Parchaiyaan will go on air tomorrow, that is, 12th February, 2013 at 8 pm on ARY Digital.
This Melo-romantic serial has already created a good audience through its promos and viewers seem enthusiastic about the show. Been directed by Shakeellie Khan, the drama enjoys a valuable cast including great actors like Waseem Abbas, Rubina Ashraf, Aijazz Aslam, Sana Khan and many more. ARY is trying its best to over pass the viewership been created by HUM TV and for that the efforts are visible. There are a couple of other dramas that has recently been aired on ARY like Silvetein that are attracting viewers considerably, resulting in a respectful TRPs of the Channel
The audience looks forward to the new serial and hope that it would be as entertaining as the previous projects of the channel.
Pakistan has a lot of potential and when it comes to music, the country has a huge treasure in terms of history and the singers who are shining all over the world. Here are 5 singers of the nation who are sacredly followed in India for their Vocals. Have a look!
Well well well. This episode was electrifying, intense & what not. I am sure words wouldn’t be able to describe this whole episode. But firstly I must wave a salute to the director for such a flawless direction & taking the best out of all the actors & accumulating it on screen for us all. Of all the episodes, this one is going to be definitely my favourite one because I am sure it has left the same impact on all it’s viewers pretty much the same way.
The episode started off after Firdous caught Ghazanfar & Zubaida in action. No doubt, they were just having the dinner but the ambiance was pretty evident to show the lingering feelings the two souls have had & were sharing for one another. While they were reminiscing about their past Firdous furiously told Farmaan about everything & I loved how the scenes unfolded. Firstly, they dropped Firdous at her mother’s place, decided to take the kid with them & go to Ghazanfar’s house to pick Zubaida but she had already hurried back to her place just because it was Ghazanfar who felt awkward having Zubaida all by himself, that too when he was all alone at his place. The first half of the whole episode was done perfectly with no flaws & was absolutely marvellous.
The scenes of Ghazanfar & Zubaida were done beautifully. No doubt, at some points Ghazanfar was being flirtatious with Zubaida but it was done in such a decent way. One could actually feel that you can even not cross the lines of indecency yet can confess what you actually feel. This I give all the credit to the director for portraying their feelings beautifully without any vulgarity which is normally prevailant in the dramas these days. Ghazanfar stated ‘mera dil chahay to mai appko kabhi janay hi na doon’ & Zubaida’s satisfying smirk in response said it all. What I disliked the most was Zubaida’s constant belittling regarding Firdous. She once again said that ‘bhalay hi Firdous kaisi bhi kyun na ho app kabhi kisi dusre ki taraf nahi dekhenge’. Ohkay, we understand that she likes Ghazanfar & fails to see any such weaknesses he might have but Ghazanfar in response should have at least tried to defend Firdous because after all she is his wife. I have had this problem ever since the beginning because we never saw Ghazanfar taking stand for Firdous or defending her in front of Zubaida because he just can not muster up that much of a courage.
I must say today, all the complaints that I had against Farmaan vanished easily. They showed more depth in his character. Just a few dialogues of Farmaan said so much about his soft, biased & patient attitude which he had towards his first wife. All this while they showed that Farmaan was oblivious of Zubaida’s feelings for Ghazanfar & how she meets him behind Farmaan’s back but he easily confessed in front of Neelam about how he knew what was going on considering the time span of 25 years which he has spent with Zubaida. All this while Zubaida thought she had succeeded in deceiving Farmaan & she took his ignorance for granted but now she looks like a child who was living in a fool’s paradise. All this while Zubaida thought she could control everything because of her dominance but didn’t know she was trying to hold the intangible.
Now coming to the main scene of the whole episode. The final confrontation. The timing, the direction, the dialogues, the acting, everything was just perfect to the core. For the first time I couldn’t take my eyes off Farmaan because of his acting. I loved how the director created so much of a drama in such a less dramatic manner. Without going overboard Farmaan said everything which had to be said. He confessed how he took care of Zubaida all this while & knew that she had loved Ghazanfar but still he gave her space thinking she will feel better after sharing her worries with her ex-fiancé, whom she endears the most. Zubaida, once again proved that nothing matters to her except her ego. In such a delicate moment she took the wrong decision because whatever Farmaan said hurt her ego & she decided to part ways with him. She is so blinded by her one-sided love that she is ready to lose 25 years of marriage just so that she can tie the knot with her first love.
Firdous lost hope completely & is ready to tell everything to Adeel & Sharmeen. Shakeel’s advice to her was absolutely spot on when he tried to show Firdous the bigger picture in regards to the consequences she might face in the future. Farmaan had opened his heart in front of Neelam & admitted that he can clearly see how Zubaida has been treating Neelam & Farjad till now but he was being lenient. Farmaan took extra care of Zubaida & enforced her on Neelam because he, within himself, was being guilty for putting Zubaida in hell just because of his second marriage but he actually had no idea that all such sacrifices & extra attention did not mean anything to Zubaida, because she had her mind somewhere else all this while. Plus Zubaida got more courage to be open about her feelings after Farmaan & Neelam’s wedding got disclosed. At this point I feel Zubaida is going to be left all alone, on her own just because of her ego & the dignity which she wants to maintain by hook or by crook.
Bari Appa is a depiction of such a personality who single-handedly can be responsible for ruining the lives of everyone around her. Be it her brother, her sister in law, her own sister, sister’s husband, daughter & her husband to the most. If she wasn’t so dominating & minded her own business, she wouldn’t be facing all such issues. Right now I actually have no sympathies with Zubaida & I am glad that Farmaan took a long long time but in the end he manned up completely.
The preview of the next episode seemed equally interesting but I am once again unhappy to see Farmaan’s inappropriate ways of patching things up with Zubaida, why did he have to mention leaving Neelam for such a cold-hearted Zubaida? Zubaida’s irony will start once she will see Ghazanfar all settled & happy with Firdous. I so can not wait to see the next episode. But once again a huge round of applause for the writer & then the director & then the whole team for making this drama an unforgettable one.
Please share your reviews about such an excellent episode of Bari Appa. Keep Supporting, Cheers, Zahra Mirza.

Zaroon and Kashaf’s lives have gone on totally different tracks after University and the difference between the challenges that the two face in life were even more obvious today. Zaroon easily managed to clear his CSS exams and rightly thinks that ‘zindagi mei kitni aasani se kitna significant change aa jata hai’. He cannot in any way relate to the struggles that Kashaf, a girl who studied in the same college with him, has to go through in order to get even minor things done. Kashaf put her career on hold in order to help her mother to get her sister married. I have to say that although I was not really looking forward to this particular episode because I guessed that there would be more of Kashaf’s family and Zaroon/Asmara in this episode than anything else but the scenes in the first half especially were very heart wrenching. They were beautifully directed and I could feel the love that Kashaf, her sisters and their mother feel for each other. I did feel though that Rafia should not have insisted that Murtaza should attend the wedding in particular, I quite agree with the notion that if the proposal could have been finalized without the presence of Murtaza, the wedding could have taken place without him too. We also found out in today’s episode that Rafia even gave her jewelry to Murtaza’s second wife when he got married to her. I understood Rafia’s concerns in the first half of the show and she was right in hoping that Murtaza may just have a change of heart but later on I felt that Rafia was letting Murtaza walk all over her. And now after everything that has happened, I see absolutely no reason why Rafia should expect anything from Murtaza.
Did anyone notice the sounds in the background when Zaroon was writing his diary? The biggest change in Zaroon’s life will be that he will be moving away from his family and starting an independent life, something that he is very excited about. Luckily, there were just a couple of Zaroon/Asmara scenes in this episode and the confrontation that the two had seemed like nothing new. The issues Zaroon is having with Asmara are the same which he has had with Sara for a very long time. I have to agree with Sadaf that it is difficult to keep track of time in this play and many times I am left wondering, how much time has elapsed between different happening. I am guessing that three or four months have passed till now from the time that Zaroon and Kashaf left the university.
I have to say that although I did not have any high hopes from this episode but for me at least it delivered for most part. I think it was important to show Murtaza’s attitude and also the way Rafia and her daughters struggled to get Sidrah married. It seems like things are going to move on for good in the next episodes and the tables will turn. How satisfying would it be if Rafia asks all these people who want to be best friends with her all of a sudden to leave them alone. A father like Murtaza deserves just that. I have to say that today’s episode belonged to Mansha Pasha, Sanam Saeed and Samina Peerzada and must give all of them and the director credit for breathing life in these scenes.
The Nigar/Haleema scene I think was quite unnecessary, everything else worked fine for me. I am guessing that we are going to see more of Zaroon and Kashaf’s lives separately for the next couple of episodes or so until they meet again. Overall, this episode was quite satisfying although the general opinion may be quite different! Bring it on guys!
Momal Sheikhs (aka movie/drama star Javed Sheikhs daughter) wedding was the wedding of 2011. Everyone who’s who in Pakistan was in attendance at the beautiful wedding. The star studded event was highlighted by the happiness of the couple. Momal Sheikh was gorgeous in beautiful over-the-top, traditional outfits by leading Pakistani designers.
Valentines is just a week away from all the love birds and the shops are all over loaded with red gifts and red themes. These days when every date is celebrated with a hype been created in the market and in the media industry, you can surely not avoid the events that are been celebrated by the people of the nation. It was recently that we shared a unique collection of Azfar Rehman’s and Ayesha Umar’s dedicated photshoot for Valentines and this time it is Imran Abbas and Humaima Malick in the Magazine Mag!
Whether it be Daam, Mera Naseeb, Talkhiyaan or Zindagi Gulzar hai, Sanam Saeed has always proven herself as a flawless actress. Adjusting herself according to the need of role, Sanam has added a real charm to her role. Zindagi Gulzar hai has added new members in the fan list of Sanam, yet that is not the end, in fact Sanam i recently caught in the promo of a new drama serial Kadurat on HUM TV.
The promo itself speaks much about the story where Sanam seems to take revenge from the ones who made her suffer by taking away her dad and wealth. The Drama also has some talented actors beside Sanam, further contributing as success ingredient. Deepak Parwani, Angeline Malik and Junaid Khan are also a part of the show. This would be the second time that Sanam Saeed would be seen with Junaid Khan, first been Matay-e-Jaan. Sanam looks totally different from what she is liked for in Zindagi Gulzar Hai and Talkhiyan.
The Channel has yet not revealed the date of the airing of the show yet the serial seems to have a huge awaited audience even after the first few hours of its promo.
We Wish the entire team of Kadurat, a very best of luck for the project,
“Shadi kabhi bhi is tarah nahi kurni chahyeh ke kuch ke liye bhoj. Kuch ke liye tamasha aur kuch ke liye hasrat bun jaye.”
Don’t these four lines describe the kind of marriage most girls dream of having nowadays? Most of the people who can afford it and those like Ayza and Hammad’s family who cannot afford it too become a part of the rat race because of their children. Asghari and Amna had to be only two people who talked sense all through these two episodes. The men did not think they would have much of a say so mostly they decided to keep quiet and rest of the family members gladly followed Ayza and Hammad’s lead. Although Aima is a very sensible girl but somehow personally I am not enjoying the stark difference in the personality of the two sisters, probably because we have had an overdose of sisters who are complete contrasts in the past one year. I would have liked it better if the story was about Ayza alone and it showed how a woman can change everything about a household (and not always in a good way!).
I have to say that I really enjoyed the way Hammad changed overnight, every little change in Hammad’s personality made me chuckle because I have seen many such men around me. The way Hammad changes his priorities and does not even bother asking or even informing his mother was no exaggeration at all. Hammad takes everything in his own hands from the wedding cards to the changes in the function and gives the excuse “ab hamei dosto aur rishtedaron ke samne sharmindgi nahi ho gi”and Rafia buys it too. Am I the only one who felt like this line seemed like one of the funny –sarcastic-lame jokes that we hear at the end of Ufone advertisements?
I must give due credit to the director for doing a great job of showing the wedding functions, the details shown were totally in line with the story. Usually there is a lot of hullabaloo about marriage functions in dramas but they are never shown properly because of obvious reasons. Hamnah’s In Laws also expect a grand wedding like that of Hammad and I am thinking that this is only the beginning of the series of problems that Rafia is going to face due to the changes Hammad has decided to made in their lifestyle in general too and not just the wedding function. Honestly speaking, I was not expecting Rafia to be as understanding as she is being till now. Could it be because of all the things that her bahu brought with her? It was very evident that Ayza was out to impress her In Laws and she succeeded too. I really liked it when Asghari said, ‘agur unhu ne apni aukat se unchi chalang lagai hai tu iska yeh matlab tu nahi ke hum bhi thapar maar maar ke apna muu laal kur lei”
The Ayza/Hammad track definitely kept me hooked through these two episodes because I found all the happening extremely relatable. The Aima/Hashim track on the other hand seemed to be quite repetitive and the contrast factor did not appeal to me much. Although Aima told Hashim loud and clear that her parents could not afford to buy her a car but he is still expecting one…all I can say is that shame on him and every man like him! Sadly there are many such men in our society who openly ask their wives to be or their families for things and later on boast about it too.
All the actors did a wonderful job in these two episodes but there were times when I felt like Amina Sheikh wasn’t very well-suited for the role. Samina Ahmed and Ayesha Khan(senior) both are spot on as Asghari and Akbari. Some of the scenes were more predictable than usual, I could actually tell what response someone is going to give to someone and when someone is going to hang up the phone, on what note the conversation will end etc. Overall, I enjoyed these two episodes much more than any of the previous episodes mainly because I found the changes in Hammad very relatable and interesting, Umera Ahmed most definitely has great observation and she has penned down these characters perfectly.
