Peopel in Pakistan don’t have access to social media that’s why the government decided to record a caller tune to share the message far and wide.

But do you know who is the voice behind this message? Well, meet Tayyaba Sehar, a voiceover artist and banker by profession.

In an interview, she shared response she received on this voiceover, “The most popular among them are ‘Corona Baji’ and ‘Corona Wali Baji’. The response I have received is mostly positive.”

“I understand that some people may find it irritating to hear the same message over and over again but they should understand that this is important,” she added.

Tayyaba Sehar is a famous voiceover artist working in this field for ten years. She has worked with many brands as well as banks as a voice-over artist.

The news became huge and went on to receive a lot of international traction. Waseem Badami got in touch with our own local Mr Bean and he shared what his journey is. He said that he used to work in the textile industry but as things with business went down, his friends suggested him to become Mr Bean as he resembled the real Mr Bean Rowan Atkinson a lot.

That is when he started picking up on the act by which watching the original series as he did not even know who Mr Bean was at that time.

He then went on to reveal that he was actually invited by an Indian origin businessman in Zimbabwe and he was marketed there as the Pakistani Mr Bean but as soon as he arrived there, he was given world class security and protocol. Those who had not seen the advertisements thought he was probably the original Mr Bean and were therefore angry.

Meem Se Mohabbat is a new drama that just started on Hum TV. Written by Farhat Ishtiaq and directed by Ali Hassan, the drama has an interesting premise and it is just one episode in. Ali Zafar and Meesha Shafi’s feud has taken a different direction since both parties decided to take it to the court. Ali Zafar was the one who wanted to fight it legally. He did not reply to Meesha’s allegations on social media. He sent a legal notice to Meesha through his legal team stating that Meesha has to delete the tweet wherein she accused him of sexual harassment and apologise on the same platform or else pay 1 billion rupees fine for defamation.

Meesha Shafi’s legal team which consists of Nighat Dad and Ahmed Pansota have rejected the notice which was sent to Meesha on 25th April. They have denied all the allegations of false accusing from Ali’s side as well as asked him to publically apologize for his acts. The notice read:

“Your client (Zafar) is urged to withdraw the unlawful and false notice and issue an apology immediately for the wrongs he has committed against women.”

At this point, no one is unfamiliar with the curious case of Ali Zafar and Meesha Shafi. The “Jugni” singer accused the “Rockstar” singer of harassing her at multiple occasion on her Twitter account. The battle eventually got uglier and both stars took the matter to the court.

The first hearing of the case was held in a session court in Lahore. Meesha has been directed to submit her reply by 5th July on the defamation notice of 1 billion rupees sent to her by Ali Zafar. Ali Zafar has also gotten a stay order in his favour. Now, Meesha cannot make any defamatory comments against him on any medium till the case concludes.

Meesha is still standing by her accusation while Ali has totally denied all the allegations terming them a cheap publicity stunt.

The Lahore High Court has exonerated Ali Zafar for the third time.

Meesha Shafi accused Ali Zafar of harassing her. She went to the court and filed the case against Ali Zafar.

The recent update is, Lahore High Court dismissed again an appeal filed by Meesha Shafi in her harassment case against Ali Zafar. In the appeal, filed on August 2018, Meesha Shafi had challenged the Punjab governor’s decision to dismiss her complaint against Zafar whom she has accused of sexual harassment. Justice Shahid Kareem announced the verdict in the case after hearing final arguments by the lawyers of both Shafi and Zafar.

Today, Barrister Ambreen Qureshi took to Twitter and shared the news that Meesha Shafi’s case has been dismissed by Lahore High Court and Ali Zafar has been exonerated for the third time by the court.

So, Ali Zafar has sent Meesha Shafi a legal notice depicting that she would have to give 10 crore rupees if she fails to apologize on social media within two weeks. Meesha is not staying silent and she also has chosen her legal attorneys. This is what Meesha announced on her twitter:

A whole new debate came about as model Emaan Suleman boycotted the LSAs as she did not feel right to be nominated with an alleged harasser. Speaking about how it was weighing on her conscience and how she needed to talk about it she said,

“The first and foremost reason [for breaking silence] is that I’m ready. I have started talking to people and divulging my experience. I’m finding it hard on my conscience to stay silent any longer than this because I’m seeing such brave girls and women speaking up – not just around the world – but here as well.”

“I have to say, by the way, I salute these girls. It’s not easy. They are not public figures and I think it can be harder for me, in a way, but it’s hard for everyone. The more I think about it, the more I realise that if I don’t go public, nothing will change. It was eating away at me.”

Being the mother of two, a boy and a girl, she has been teaching her kids about good touch and bad touch these days and to talk to her if anyone touches them inappropriately. She said that teaching them about all this while she kept silent when these things happen to her as an adult was gnawing at her,

“I am telling my children how important it is to speak up, so it was getting difficult for me to stay silent knowing that it was not accidental or subtle.”

Meesha recalled that the harassment wasn’t about a hug that went on for too long, a greeting that went on for a little too long or a lingering handshake.

“Women who feel that that’s inappropriate and speak-up and feel harassed, that is absolutely their right and not to take away anything from them in any way but it was more than that and that people need to know.”

She continued,

“The first time it happened, I didn’t react and just left. I told my husband but also asked him to not react; I’m a public figure and so is he [Ali Zafar]. My thought process was who I am and who he is and what that’s going to lead to. Being ready to talk was far off because it had just happened. I buried it.”

But it happened again late last year or last quarter of last year. And in both instances, they were not alone. The second time it happened in a jam room. she said,

“I got booked for a concert,”

She and Ali Zafar were billed to perform on the same concert. When asked why she said agreed to perform with him, she said:

“It is my bread and butter, it was work coming my way.”

It eventually resulted in them preparing a song that they could perform together.

“I was jamming with my band in Lahore and the organisers insisted that he was trying to get in touch. It started turning into a thing, and I was being seen as difficult or a diva, I got such feelers. I was avoiding him. I was asked to jam, figure out songs, scale and it happened while we were jamming.”

The singer remarked that ever since she went public with the story a burden has been lifted. she added,

“It is liberating, it’s empowering and it’s not the end of the world. I only felt hesitant as long as I hadn’t told anyone. The more people I tell, the more power I feel. I do. That has been my direct experience in the case. I’ve done the thing I feared and I’ve taken the leap of faith. And you know what, it’s okay,”

Singer and model Mesha Shafi had accused internationally renowned singer and actor Ali Zafar of harassment, while the court hearing of the case has not yet reached its logical conclusion.

However, the ‘Times of India’ yesterday claimed that Meesha Shafi has been sentenced to three years in prison for making false allegations against Ali Zafar, after which ‘Mail Online’ published the same news.

Many users also shared it on social media while they had mixed impressions. After all this, singer Meesha Shafi did not remain silent and called the news a lie through her social media accounts. Meesha Shafi shared the news of ‘Mail Online’ on her Instagram account and wrote that there is no truth in it.

Meesha shared a picture of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed from her wedding day and wrote: “I kid you not.. . I saw these pictures on my feed and did a double-take thinking it’s me!”

Singer Meesha Shafi has deleted her tweet regarding a post on Faiz Ahmad Faiz’s poetry ,apologizing to her fans for changing the poetry of revolutionary and romantic poet Faiz Ahmed Faiz , the singer wrote,

A Twitter account, run under the name of Faiz Ahmed Faiz while addressing Meesha said, “you have become famous by singing about Faiz Sahib’s poetry and now you are trolling his poetry.”

Making Meesha realize her mistake, another netizen said that the trolling depicts your training.

Later on Meesha Shafi apologized and said that She had deleted her post in which she changed word.

Singer Meesha Shafi made her TV debut with Muhabbat Khuwab Ki Soorat (2010) on Hum TV. In the same year, she appeared in Ye Zindagi To Woh Nahi (Geo TV). After a gap of 5 years, and her film debut in Waar (2013) she is back with Mor Mahal.

As the campaign #MeToo has helped bring many cases of sexual harassment to light and helped the victims to not only speak about their experiences but has also helped them to heal.

After many celebrities who have spoken previously Meesha Shafi too decided to break her silence today and accused her co star Ali Zafar of sexual harassment.

In a note attached to a tweet this afternoon Meesha Shafi penned down,

“Sharing this because I believe that by speaking out about my own experience of sexual harassment, I will break the culture of silence that permeates through our society. It is not easy to speak out.. but it is harder to stay silent. My conscience will not allow it anymore #MeToo”

In the note she said,

“I have been subjected to sexual harassment of a physical nature at the hands of a colleague from my industry: Ali Zafar. These incidences did not happen when I was young or just entering the industry. This happened to be despite the fact that I am an empowered, accomplished woman who is known for speaking her mind! This happened to me as a mother of two children.”

She continued,

“Ali is someone I have known for many years and someone I shared the stage with. I feel betrayed by his behaviour and his attitude and I know that I am not alone.”

Ali Zafar hasn’t confirmed or denied these allegations yet as everyone awaits his response.

It was a shock to everyone when recently Meesha Shafi deleted her Instagram and Facebook accounts. She did not cite a cause for it on her twitter either. They were simply gone. Meesha just gave an interview to the Images and revealed the reason behind this step.

When asked about deleting the accounts, she didn’t hold back and answered straight away:

They have been deactivated for very obvious reasons, one would think. The abuse, threats, bullying and slander that I have faced is the reason I felt the strong need to protect not just myself but my family, especially my two young children who were also being subjected to personal attacks online.

Well we know Meesha didn’t get much support from her colleagues either, she said that she knows that expecting that much from anyone would be a lot:

Believe me, I now know what it takes to speak the truth. And to expect the same from anyone would be expecting too much, it seems. The silence has been hurtful, no doubt. But I chose to stand up alone, and I’m not judging anyone.

She also pointed out that she has not PR team set up to counter rumours being spread about her:

I don’t pay heed to rumours. The slanderous campaign against me has set back the progress of women speaking up and speaking out by hundreds of years. I don’t have some PR mechanism to counter rumours with rumours, slander with slander, trolling with more trolling. All I have with me is the truth. And I believe the truth is a very powerful thing.

Meesha also told the publication that the whole case is now being handled by the law experts!
