Thays Episode 3 And 4 Review-Hard-Headedness!

The people of this family are not very rational. They are more in touch with their extreme side of emotions. Zahra’s life story came into focus and now it is hard to feel for her. She is not just overly possessive and controlling, she does not trust anyone either. The whole scene where she accuses her husband of infidelity showed how she reacts to everything around her. She is doing the same thing with her daughter now. She didn’t even try to rationalize in the whole situation and went after her daughter like she went after her husband years ago.

Rubab’s father has the same reflexive issues may be. Yes, they are lesser than Zahra’s but he has them. With everything that happened and the love he has for Zahra, he should have at least tried to clarify the situation. But he left the country, married the same woman his wife doubted him about and did not care about his first wife and daughter. His character till now seems a lot calmer than Zahra’s which makes such rash decisions by him look a bit unrelatable.

Thays Episode 3 And 4 Review-Hard-Headedness!

Since this family has a habit of being sentimental, Asher couldn’t save himself. Like his phupo he started doubting Zoya just upon seeing her with her cousin. He knows Zoya is liberal and her behaviour with her cousin should not be a shock to him. She was just being friendly with him. But he went on to driving like a bull-head because that somehow solves all issues. Yes, Zoya is not yet fully interested in him. So, he should stop behaving like her husband and may think about the whole situation again. But he is too under pressure to escape phupi ki beti se shaadi to rationally think about what he wants in his potential life partner.

Rubab’s behaviour with her father is also uncalled for. She is shown as a student but she doesn’t look too young to not understand or question the whole situation between her parents. She is a very gharelu and masoom larki so she better cut her father some slack and gets things straight.

P.S: Teddy bears are cute but as presents for such grown-up children? Ajeeb!

Noor ul Ain Episode 14 Review – Boring!

Ohkay so, another week, another boring episode of Noor ul Ain. I think next episode of this drama will be the last that I will review as I haven’t formed any connection with the characters, nor have I warmed upto them. They look like lifeless caricatures performing some characters on my screen that I don’t enjoy watching!

Matlab Sofie ne aisi kya maths ki problem solve karni thi jiss ki tution usay personally hi ja ke leni thi? What was so important that she couldn’t talk to her fiancé on the phone about that she had to meet him personally? Seeing her having a hearty meal looked like a justified reason for which she went to see him because may be ghar ka khana kha kha ke bore ho jati hogi bechari isi liye bahir nikli thi. Then, Sofie ran into Noor, which actually was a set up for their meeting. Besides it being a diasaster, another reason I just can’t continue reviewing this drama anymore is because I get tired of rolling my eyes hard. So, back to my point, I rolled my eyes so hard when I heard Noor complaining that no one in the family contacts her. In stead of knowing how things are at home, she only makes it all about herself. Also, it is amusing that at one hand, Noor tells Khizar that he is the best thing that has happened to him but everytime she sees her family member, she poses to be a bechari who has made a big mistake by getting married!

Noor’s mother has forgiven her & she wants Qasim to forgive her too. Ghazala & Kashi’s scenes are just fillers. The fact has been established that she is a negative character so I don’t feel there’s much left to say about her even though they are pushing the agenda of her negativity more & more.

So, Khizar decided to do something but he ran out of patience real quick. It is funny that the guy who makes such big promises hasn’t even started from anywhere & still has no patience or perserverance. Also, another eye rolling moment of this episode was that without even discussing it with Khizar, Noor decided to resign from her job & this was right after she told him that she trusts him more than anything. Itna trust ke us se baat tak karna zaroori nahi samjha? Also, being someone who has stepped in a professional life already, it was totally bizarre that even before Khizar actually got a job, Noor decided to leave hers because she assumed that his job was a done deal? For someone who has been working & supporting herself & her husband, such a childish decision was hard to digest!

Another eye rolling moment is seeing Sofie’s sis in law’s activities. I am pretty sure she is involved with a guy & going out with him while her mother talks against Noor’s character. I am sure this aspect has been added to prove Noor even more innocent that she is not the only one who fell in love & those who opposed her are going to fall in a pit themselves. Sofie’s MIL will be left with regrets for judging Noor when she will find out that her ladli has been doing the same because the writer wants to justify Noor’s character & her decision. Kashi is also turning out to be a result of bad parenting because the writer is showing this is how Ghazala is going to pay for pushing Noor down the wrong path as well. I am pretty much done with this drama. I laughed out loud when Noor’s friend said ‘itni bari khushi ke baad bhi tumhare muh pe bara bajay hue hain’ which made me think ke uske muh pe bara kab nahi bajay hote.

First we got to see how they do their grocery shopping, then how Khizar brushes his teeth & now how Noor fills up a bucket of water & burns the chai just when Khizar is having a bath? Ridiculous! Anyways, please share your thoughts.

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

FBR Summons Saba Qamar For Tax Evasion

Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has reportedly summoned actor Saba Qamar on May 16 for evasion of taxes.

The FBR has reportedly sent a notice to the actor to explain a discrepancy in her filed income taxes. The actor’s income taxes filed for the year 2014-2015 are being audited, as reported by a source.

The source also added,

“Saba Qamar’s filed income taxes do not match her lifestyle. Further investigation will be conducted on details presented by the actor and then her income taxes filed for the years 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 will also be audited,”

FBR Summons Saba Qamar For Tax Evasion

However, Saba Qamar denied receiving any notice from the FBR.

“I have not received any notice. This happens every year and I am used to it by now.”

In September last year, a notification from the FBR stated that Saba Qamar had been found to be a tax evader. The FBR had stated Qamar had defaulted on tax worth Rs3.4 million.

It was also reported that the board had sealed the actor’s house as she did not respond to notices.

However, the starlet had dismissed the reports saying,

“My house has not been sealed, neither has my bank account. I’m a tax filer. It’s very disappointing that channels are circulating such news without finding out the truth. These channels have no credibility as they have been spreading such rumours.”

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 8 Review – The Aftershocks!

Tonight’s episode of Woh Mera Dil Tha showed how everyone felt about Zaid and Naina’s sudden nikkah once they were out of the initial shock. Zaid and Naina crossed paths for the first time after the nikkah took place and this interaction wasn’t different from many other conversations they had earlier when they didn’t have a clue that they might end up being with each other in this capacity. The flashback scenes showed how Zaid was dreading spending the rest of his life with a woman he didn’t even like and Naina felt like a complete misfit in this new house for obvious reasons. While everyone else is not willing to accept this marriage, Zaid’s father is the only one who thinks that life should get back to normal. Zaid’s father is turning out to be a likeable character who is kind and practical. His reaction when Naina’s father and his boss proposed that he should move to the other office came as a complete surprise. He is the only person who believes that Naina deserves respect even though this marriage didn’t take place the way he hoped it would.

Zaid can easily be termed as a flirt and a charmer who simply couldn’t care less how these women who he flirts with feel when he walks out on them. The scene in the office also showed that he won’t think twice before using a woman who likes her for his own advantage. He is a free bird who is suddenly in a situation which demands being responsible and committed. Naina too is used to living a very different life and will very soon have to live with someone she always disliked. How will these two people who cannot stand each other end up falling for one another? Finding out how this eventually happens has to be the biggest attraction right now. Sami Khan and Madiha Imam’s performances have been spot on right from the get-go. Zaid’s selfishness and reckless behaviour is often amusing because of the way it has been translated on screen!

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 8 Review - The Aftershocks!

It was good to see Naina’s mother trying to get through to her even after all the warnings. We have seen plenty of dramas in which the mothers forget they have a daughter the second they get such a threat! Arham’s parents’ conversation was an important part of this episode but the actor playing Arham’s father’s role is not the least bit impressive. With a better supporting cast, this drama could have been more pleasing. Zaid and Naina are the main attractions of this play, they keep on giving you something to look forward to. Their track has tons of potential therefore I am waiting for the time when Naina will finally move in with Zaid and there will be more focus on them.

Zun Mureed Episode 11 Review – Going Strong!

Tonight’s episode of Zun Mureed had plenty of important and unexpected developments to its credit. Just like every other episode of this drama, this one too showed bitter realities of our society and showed that so-called educated and affluent men were just as capable of hitting their wives as those people who do not know better. It also highlighted the fact that one of the major reasons why most women put up with abuse is that they have no one to turn to! In a society where men are considered superior beings and custodians, it is truly ironic that when these men fail to fulfill their responsibilities, there is hardly anyone who holds them accountable. This episode also showed what kind of men were dead against the Women’s Protection Bill and why. Once again, the writer intelligently explained that a man who hits his wife once is bound to do it again by showing the example of the school principal who put up with domestic abuse for the longest time.

Tonight’s episode opened with Maryam and her husband discussing the usual problems they face running Sajjad’s house and their thoughts on the Women’s Protection Bill. The dialogues as usual were extremely well-written and delivered. Maryam’s husband is supportive and it is almost as if he has no family or life of his own. Even though she has the perfect married life but she couldn’t see another woman, who also happened to be her bhabhi, happy! All these characters and situations are highly relatable since having two different sets of standards and principles for your own self and for others is quite common in our society. Hina Bayat and Khalid Anum’s performances have been faultless throughout which is a big reason why it is always easy connecting to their characters.

Zun Mureed Episode 11 Review - Going Strong!

Tabbasum decided she needed to go back to work after her brother’s warning. I really like the fact that even though Tabbasum has been through so much but she has never been shown as a victim. Instead of mulling over what her brother said, she decided to do something about the situation. Unlike many other dramas which are bent on making women in such situation the ultimate becharis, this one shows a woman who refuses to be a bechari even though she has very little support. It is also good that Tabbasum has some support in the house, Fariha does whatever she can to help. Tabbasum’s encounter with Jamil sahab and later on her meeting with his ex-wife have given a different turn to this story. I am waiting to see how this latest development will affect Tabbasum’s track.

Tabbasum’s bhabhi got a lot of screen time in this episode as well. All her scenes showed how her constant bickering and brain washing was making it difficult for Tabbasum to live in the house. Tabbasum’s brother only wants the kids to go back to their father’s house because of the stories his wife told him. Tabbasum does not entertain disrespect and abuse but at the same time she misses her husband and even though she knows that she also has a share in the house, she is letting her brother stay in it. Even when Sajjad wanted her to ask for her share, she didn’t entertain that thought. Tabbasum is a strong woman but she is also someone who will compromise to make her relationships work. She is someone who chooses her battles wisely and fights them with all her might. She is definitely one of the finest women leads we have seen in recent times in our dramas.

Zainab’s Father To Sue The Makers Of Telefilm Zainab Ke Qatil!

The whole world shook when the story of Zainab Ansari came to light. Zainab was raped and murdered and the whole country for once stood united for a cause. We all begged and fought for justice and finally, the killer was arrested. A Plus is making a telefilm on the topic titled Zainab Ke Qatil. It is written by Umera Ahmed and according to the makers will highlight the role of media in the case.

Zainab's Father To Sue The Makers Of Telefilm Zainab Ke Qatil!

Amin Ansari, Zainab’s father has now told the media that the makers did not take permission from him for making this kind of a film on his daughter. He said that he was not aware of any such development and will not allow the channel to use his daughter’s name.

The move shows extreme insensitivity that the makers didn’t bother to ask for permission from the parents who have recently gone through such a painful dilemma!

Haraa Dil Episode 5 Review — Emotionally Charged

Last episode ended with Shagufta’s death and this one began with mourning that death. This episode had some devastating scenes that are bound to make you cry. It also included some confrontations that were long due and some unexpected yet pleasant character developments that were much needed. With each episode the drama keeps getting better and has started to form a connection with the audience at a more profound and deeper level. It has become easier to recognize with the characters now may be because of the tragic death of this motherly presence that Shagufta was, for this feeling of loss and pain resonates with everyone on this planet.

In the beginning of the episode both Momina and Abeer are shell shocked because of their mother’s death and have lost all sense of reality and have zero regard for consequences. This loss was the final nail in the coffin and has paved way for the expression of anger that was brewing inside both of them ever since the beginning against their father and Amtul. They accuse their father of killing their mother only because he wanted to have a son and Abrar acknowledges that he had become indifferent to everything around him and blames himself for his wife’s death, to the point that he is afraid to go home and face his own daughters.

The baby is still at the hospital because he was premature and is naturally too weak. Both Momina and Abeer are constantly reminded by everyone that this baby is now their responsibility. Now that their mother is dead they have to play his mother’s role to which all they say is that they will never own this baby. They are both hurting and hate everyone at this point. Their father, this baby, Amtul they hold everyone responsible for this death while Momina even holds her own self and her love for Arham responsible for it.

Haraa Dil Episode 5 Review --- Emotionally Charged

After confronting Abrar it is time for further confrontations that include Amtul and Arham. Instead of being a fair person Arham sides with his mother when Momina accuses her of being equally responsible for her mother’s death which is disappointing for everyone who was rooting for Arham’s character so far. He has been a level headed person till now, didn’t support his mother just because she was his mother but for some reason he decides to do that now when clearly his mother is wrong. Momina is most vulnerable at this point instead of supporting her in any possible way he has started to act like a mama’s boy which is beyond me. This will definitely put a dent in their relationship.

Talking of amazing character developments Zawar was the real MVP of this episode. He not only calls out his wife Areej on having conservative and toxic mind set but also accuses Amtul of raising her daughter with a lack of basic human decency. He forces Amtul to put everything aside and go condole Abrar’s family. When they reach there obviously they are not welcomed by anyone which disappoints Zawar to some extent, I believe, tho he doesn’t say so. This also shows that Areej and Zawar tho got married by choice but they have no real connection and do not understand each other much.

By the end of the episode Abrar brings the baby home who hasn’t been named yet and both his daughters remind him how unwanted this baby’s presence is. When Abrar is unable to put the baby to sleep at night Abeer says one of the most powerful dialogues of this show “Inhe bhi to pata chale baap ban’na kitna asaan hai aur maa ban’na kitna mushkil.” The episode ends with Abrar reminiscing Shagufta and how different everything would have been if she were alive.

In the prologue we can see Shagufta’s old friend suggesting that Abrar should get married for his son needs a mother which rattles Momina. While Arham reminds his mother that his relationship with Momina is strong enough to withstand the test of time and fate. But really is it?

Do share your opinion of this episode and what you think will happen next. On a scale of A to D this episode was definitely an A minus for me.

Bela Pur Ki Dayan Episode 13 Review – Keeps You Guessing!

Bela Pur Ki Dayan continues to be a remarkably creative drama with inventive storytelling. Every episode of this drama piques my curiosity and manages to confuse me more than ever – which is one of my favorite parts of watching this play! The story has been written and executed in such a manner that it leaves the viewers clueless. It was a wonderful idea to show the back story in the manner it is being shown since it has more of an impact. This was the kind of episode which leaves you with more questions than answers, which is an excellent approach since it keeps the viewers hooked. This episode didn’t have the same flow as most of the episodes so far but overall it was terrifying, entertaining, intriguing and few of the scenes in particular were executed impressively.

Until last week, I was pretty sure that Aziz was the culprit but after watching this episode, I am finding it hard to believe that he would kill so many family members. At the same time, it was difficult to relate to Aziz’s concern for these family members since it was exaggerated. The timeline tonight was confusing because Aziz mentioned that his mother had passed away but the viewers were not shown when and how she died. According to Aziz a group of serial killers was behind these murders but Rehmat instantly blamed him for the murders. Young Aziz’s expressions in this scene made it look like he might have something to do with all this but it is impossible to imagine how this story will end if he really is the murderer. It is still a mystery why Neelo was declared dead. The scene which showed how Neelo killed the police officer was one of the best scenes of this episode. It was shot and acted-out superbly. A horror drama would be incomplete without such scenes because a supernatural being which has come to take revenge shouldn’t be shown moving forward cautiously. The Dayan fits the bill and with every passing episode she is getting more terrifying. Amar Khan and Sarah Khan’s scenes together were few of the most disturbing scenes in this episode. Both the actors breathed life into these horror scenes with their perfect expressions and body language and made this entire situation even more scary. Amar Khan is extremely likeable as Neelo and enormously frightening as the Dayan!

Bela Pur Ki Dayan Episode 13 Review - Keeps You Guessing!

Aziz asked Shakir to help him since he has realized that Neelo isn’t going to listen to anyone else. Shakir seemed confused and there is so much which still has to be revealed about the backstory therefore some of the things are quite blurry at the moment. He was expecting Neelo to be there and didn’t look shocked enough when he was told what was actually happening. I can’t praise Shahjahan Rana, the actor playing young Aziz’s role, enough and the person responsible for his styling also deserves tons of credit. He is a confident actor who understands his character and I actually find myself looking forward to his scenes. The fact that his mannerisms and dialogue delivery is quite similar to that of older Aziz makes him perfect for the role. Umer Naru is also brilliant as the angry young man.

Just like every other episode, tonight too, the background score added more mystery to the story. It was used impressively and effectively throughout. The manner in which the backstory is being shown is one of the most impressive elements of this show. The horror scenes never disappoint and the story continues to be engaging. Bela Pur Ki Dayan is a must-watch for all those viewers who love watching horror shows but also think that Pakistani drama makers cannot make an engaging and well-executed horror drama! Bela Pur Ki Dayan will keep you at the edge of your seat!

Pukaar Episode 14 Review – OST Overdose!

Ohkay so, like all the previous episodes of Pukaar, this one was pretty slow too. There’s nothing more left in the story than for Samra & Sarang to fall for each other so now it is obvious that the pace will stay slow & things will be dragged.

I really thought Tashfeen & Samra will come together & try to at least fight for Samra’s basic rights but even Tashfeen proved to be a coward who was pretty much used to the entire system being run by Laali. Just because Laali assured Tashfeen that despite Amna & Sarang’s arrival, her status as a daughter in law wouldn’t change, Tashfeen forgot all the sympathy she had towards Samra for her selfish reasons!

Sultan proceeded with his personal agenda & gave Sarang the place of Fahad pretty quickly. It is funny that nothing that Laali says or does has any affect on Sultan & Laali doesn’t even mind it because she is happy with those weak women that she can boss around to boost her ego. I am sure she will try to do that with Amna too but Sarang won’t let that happen.

It was sickening seeing that smirk on Laali’s face when she saw Samra begging her. Laali is concerned about the baby that’s on the way but doesn’t she know that she needs to keep Samra away from this unnecessary distress as that’s one thing an expectant woman needs? The way Laali spoke about Samra’s dead father was just so sickening. I am sick of this character.

Anyways, the precap again promised a little progress in Sarang Samra track where he will at least start communicating with her & let her know that he spoke to her mother. Sarang & Amna have been learning about the dynamics of this family so I am sure they will soon find out that it isn’t Samra who has mental issues, it’s this entire family that is psychotic. I am not even enjoying the OST anymore as they are using it way too much now. Anyways, please share your thoughts!

Keep Supporting,
Cheers,
Zahra Mirza.

An Exclusive Interview With Saheefa Jabbar

Saheefa Jabbar recently made her debut on television with Moomal Entertainment and Rafay Rashdis’ drama serial Teri Meri Kahani. Before her acting career began, Saheefa was always in the limelight for being a super-confident short-haired model which she sported with all her heart. Her first acting debut won her more fans than all the modeling projects she has done till date because of her superb performance and a style which is very different. Saheefa is blessed with a beautiful personality and she has tons to offer to the modeling and drama industry.

Saheefa is not only confident, she is opinionated too and for that particular reason, she doesn’t shy away from speaking her heart out to share her perspective with the world. She is definitely someone we wanted to know more about and this opportunity to interview her seemed like the perfect time to ask her all the questions which weren’t just on our mind but also in the mind of many of our readers.

Q: How did you land into the world of showbiz?

A: It just happened, I just took a break from University and showbiz just happened. I really wanted to work in this industry. It took me a while to figure that out but it happened for good. (this wasn’t something she particularly wanted to talk about since she has answered this questions repeatedly in different interviews!)

Q: Is it a full time career for you, a hobby you feel passionately about or a dream come true?

A: It is a full time career, if this was a hobby, I would have left this field a long time back. Yes, definitely a dream come true.

Q: What do you enjoy doing more, modeling or acting?

A: Modeling and acting both are very different genres. Modeling is very convenient, very slow, it’s more money. But acting is difficult, it is a very long process, it takes a lot of time and hard work. Acting makes you a people’s person; every auntie in Pakistan would know me by the next two years. That is something I really like about acting, the masses get to know you and that is really nice.

Q: We all love Dina. How close is Dina’s character to your actual personality?

A: Since Dina was the first ever role I played for TV so this will always remain close to me. The very recent thing which happened to me in Dubai was that someone called me by the name of Dina and that lady didn’t know my real name. I think that was an achievement and that is an achievement for any actor. Like Mahira Khan, for the longest time everyone knew her as Khirad. That is really nice that people know you by the role you play.

An Exclusive Interview With Saheefa Jabbar

Q: Which Pakistani celebrity do you look up to?

A: I have just two names for now, Saba Qamar and Mahira Khan. I love these two ladies. They have a come a long way and the way they made Pakistan proud that is something I really respect them for. Sajal Aly is following one of those paths and I really like how these women are coming out so strong.

Q: What are the pros and cons of being a celebrity?

A: I think everything has its own pros and cons. Even if you are a housewife, that has its own pros and cons too. Being a celebrity you don’t have a personal life, if you want to keep something secret, it is impossible to do that. People will always be judging you and you always have to do everything perfect. That is a very hard part because you have to keep your personal life perfect which is very hard because we can’t always be perfect. That is something really hard to do and one thing I don’t like. Talking about the pros, the fact that every Pakistani will know me by the end of the day and most of them will be loving me…I like that about being a celebrity.

Q: Name 5 makeup products that are your go-to?

A: It’s been 3 years in the industry and I am still not good with make-up. For me a good mascara and an eye brow tint work. I can’t really name much because I still have no knowledge about make-up.

Q: When styling yourself, what’s that one thing that you always keep in mind?

A: I am a very basic person so for me styling should be very basic too. A good pair of khakis, a blue jeans and t-shirt would work for me. I don’t believe in wearing, mixing and matching a lot of things.

An Exclusive Interview With Saheefa Jabbar

Q: Tell us a little about your childhood? How did it shape your personality?

A: There is so much to it, I am still not opening up regarding my childhood. There were very rough incidents which took place and I don’t think it is the right time to talk about them now but eventually when I think I will be a stronger person I’ll be able to talk about them. Alhamdulillah my childhood was very smooth and easy. I was blessed with the best of best parents and a family and friends but still there is a lot that people don’t know and I think I will come out with my perspective soon.

Q: What are your plans for the future?

A: I never disclose my future plans so sorry you will have to wait and watch.

Q: Any suggestions for all the aspiring models and actors out there?

A: I always tell people that whatever you want to achieve in life, just stay focused and just don’t forget to give your best. There are no shortcuts, you have to give your best and work harder every day. There is a new sun every morning so there is a new day every day. Just keep working hard and dream big because if you won’t dream big, you won’t achieve what you want to.

Khasara Episode 5 – Review!

Ohkay so, this episode of Khasara was pretty basic with nothing much happening in it apart from Sila’s constant nagging.

Sila returned to her town after getting treated nicely by Mohtasim & even Linta. Linta chose to see Moanis & Sila off on a good note because she just wanted to get done with all this as she had an important matter to take care of.

Ever since Sila returned, she couldn’t stop talking about how perfect Linta & Mohtasim’s life & relationship was. Sila wants Moanis to do well, she does say that she wants the best for her children which to be honest seems like an excuse. Sila herself is quite greedy, yes there’s a difference between dreaming big or positive & being downright immature, greedy & unthankful. Sila wants a luxurious life & with Moanis, that is so not going to happen, that is why she doesn’t even respect him.

Arzoo was still hovering around & I find it funny especially now that Linta herself saw everything that happened at Arzoo’s place. The things that Linta said to the applicant looking for the job were ridiculous. Even though I totally completely blame Mohtasim but now I feel the rumours about Linta being insane aren’t wrong either. I say that because despite witnessing everything herself, she still believes by doing all these things, she will be able to prevent Mohtasim from cheating on her again?

Sila is annoying & now I have all the more reasons to feel that way about her because she easily ignored the indecent touch of Mohtasim. They both met again & even then, Sila was more worried about leaving a bad impression on him & not about the way he once again made a physical contact with her? I wish they had shown Sila to be newly married or a girl who doesn’t have kids because this much immaturity coming from a mother of 2 grown up kids is hard to believe. It is hard to believe that Sila couldn’t feel the indecency in Mohtasim’s intentions because women are quite instinctive but like Areeba said, she is too blinded by the idea of his perfectness that she can not see beyond that, but again, all this coming from a mum of 2 – unbelievable! Also, Sila was in a braid the entire day but she had to have those perfectly done curls just when she was brooming her house right before Mohtasim came? I feel a lot of unnecessary effort has gone into making Sonia Mishal look like a vision, I repeat, unnecessary.

Areeba & Azhar’s track is boring, unnecessary & forced. Too tired of seeing a wife feeling guilty for not bearing a child for her good-for-nothing husband who is obviously not even emotionally attatched to her. Areeba’s pleading in front of her crying husband telling him not to work hard was so bizarre. Azhar has given Areeba quite a hard time for such a long time so she should have felt uneasy seeing him being overly nice. I am sure Azhar’s character is only added to cause troubles in Moanis’ professional life because then he will start working for Mohtasim & that will give Mohtasim a chance to be near Sila. Also, why is it that every single conversation of Sila & Areeba has to end on Sila rubbing Areeba’s childlessness to her face & then apologizing for it, making herself look like an even bigger idiot. They have been best of friends for quite some time now so if there’s one person who should be conscious of not hurting Areeba when it comes to this matter, it is Sila but like I said, she takes annoyance to another level. I am not really sure with what mindset the writer wrote the character of Sila, like is she showing us how a wife & a mum shoud NOT be or is she showing us how cute or innocent an idiotic nagging wife like Sila is that she doesn’t even feel alarmed when a man touches her indecently, as far as he is rich?

The amount of flirting that is happening with the married women in this drama is cringe worthy. Linta’s cousin was also introduced to show that in the end when Mohtasim will cheat on her & she will leave him, she will go to him eventually because he is still hopelessly in love with her. The cousinly concern was so not coming through, it was too obvious that he was still sore that Linta chose to get married to Mohtasim.

So far this drama is nothing special. The dialogues are pretty hideous. The conversation between Mohtasim & Moanis regarding cheating on their wives was full of cringe too. Sonia Mishal really needs to improve her acting, I have heard quite a lot of good things about her acting but every single time I fail to see what the hype or praising is all about. She is pretty monotonous & that typical dialogue delivery doesn’t help either. Please share your thoughts.

‘Raazi’ Will Not Be Releasing In Pakistan

Meghan Gulzar-helmed ‘Raazi’ will be releasing in India tomorrow but due to it’s controversial content no distributor has purchased this film in Pakistan.

A senior distribution company official told Express Tribune,

“It is disappointing to see that films on controversial subjects are being produced in India time and again,”

He continued,

“All our distributors are well aware about Alia’s role in Raazi and so, no one is willing to purchase the film. Patriotism is another reason for distributors not being pushed about buying the film. Indian producers should know that all our distributors have unanimously decided to boycott such controversial films.”

'Raazi' Will Not Be Releasing In Pakistan

The film is an adaptation of Harinder Sikka’s novel, Calling Sehmat, it features an Indian spy (Alia) who marries a Pakistani man (Vicky) during the Indo-Pak war of 1971.

In an earlier interview Vicky Kaushal playing a Pakistani major’s role said,

“The film is not just about the Indo-Pak war, it is much deeper than that. It is about an individual relationship. It is also about an era when there was tension between the two countries and during that time a Kashmiri woman married a Pakistani major.”

'Raazi' Will Not Be Releasing In Pakistan

He went on to add,

“I wasn’t worried that I am playing a Pakistani, so it should be shown in a certain light. I think the story does the work. People will realise it is not an India-Pakistan war film.”

Tabeer Episode 12 – Last Review!

Ohkay so, I literally had to drag & push myself to tune to Tabeer in order to view & review it. Just like everyone else, I also tune to dramas to get a little break & have a pleasant time pass, but the dramas that drag my mood down are so not my idea of entertainment. Yes, there have been quite a lot of disasters in the past that I have reviewed, even reviewing currently as well like Noor ul Ain or Khasara (which I’m sure I will stop too) but I have either enjoyed reviewing them or turning them into an opportunity for sharing a laughter with my fellow drama-buffs but that is not the case with Tabeer & no, I am not calling it a disaster as it definitely is not one!

I will definitely give props to the team for achieving what they were aiming for – showing a reality based drama which showcases depression & trials & tribulations in a convincing manner but let’s just say, it is a way too realistic, way too depressing for my taste. I neither enjoy watching its episodes nor do I have fun reviewing it & that is why, I am backtracking & going to stop reviewing it as I have had enough.

This drama is based on a very serious theme & the team of this drama is doing a great job because they are conveying human emotions in the best way possible that is why I am sure a lot of people are tuning to it but it just is not my cup of tea. I can not force myself anymore to tune to a drama that puts me in a bad mood because this is not why I watch dramas to begin with.

Ajju was one story, even his brother Rafaqat & his wife Asma are upto no good. They definitely have their sights on the house that Yasir has left for Tabeer & Daadi. I think this will turn out to be the reason why Tabeer might be forced to face Fawad once again as she might need his help to solve this matter once she & Daadi will have nowhere to go to if Ajju & co. throws them out of their own home!

Daadi & Tabeer’s conversation was very heavy & emotional. Obviously Daadi can relate to what Tabeer is going through because even she has endured the pain of losing her husband & her child. Tabeer is now only going to live her life in regret & it will take a lot of time for her to forgive Fawad because he & his baby are the reason why she lost her child.

I was amused when I saw the doctor. He happens to be one comic factor in this otherwise depressing drama because of his monotony & 2-day prescription of formula milk, every.single.time. There was a new entry in this drama. I like Mizna Waqas but she is being typecast I feel. All her roles are more or less the same & not really looking forward to her antics as her character for now had cringe written all over it that too in bold letters. Now things are going to be stretched way too much & for that reason I am out.

Please continue watching Tabeer & have a good time. Please share your thoughts.

Cheers,

PS: I will keep the window open for reviewing & if in the future I happen to watch an episode of Tabeer by chance & if I feel like, I will review that particular episode but for now I don’t see myself doing that as I’m pretty much done.

Visaal Episode 7 Review – Super!

Ohkay so, this was yet another interesting episode of Visaal. What I love about this play is the simplicity of both, the characters & the story-telling. This drama shows that if a simple script is well-written & well-directed, it turns out to be a drama that is worth watching.

Shabbir & Pari were still struggling. Shabbir couldn’t come to terms with what happened & that is why he was still bitter. Pari has gone into this shell & despite not being guilty, she is feeling like that because she is seeing how hard her father is suffering. Jumman Bua’s scene was so emotional, it is good that at least she has all her sympathies with Shabbir & Pari & her presence at least pacifies them a little, even though both of them haven’t come out of their misery yet!

Taimur proved to be a coward & left without saying a word. If not Pari, he should have contacted Shabbir despite his boss telling him not to because he himself was well aware of the fact how Shabbir & Pari’s life was ruined. Even though Taimur did think of calling his mother which would’ve showed that he was ready to give Pari the respect but going away proved the otherwise.

Akram, Yasmin & Dilbar succeeded in doing what they came together for, which was fixing his & Naheed’s marriage. Yasmin was right, Naheed was not happy but it wasn’t the news of her marriage that was bothering her, it was the guilt of wronging Pari that was making her restless. I enjoy seeing how Yasmin every single time snubs Dilbar & how he is always left speechless, lol. What Yasmin said to Akram about wronging his lady love hinted that may be she has been through the same too that is why she assumed the same about Akram. I am low-key rooting for Dilbar & Yasmin, they will make a very interesting couple, lol!

The way Shabbir’s colleagues spoke about the entire fiasco showed the reason why Shabbir was so not ready to face the world yet but those things apart, all the comments those oldies made about Pari were cringe worthy & left a very bad taste in the mouth. Last time one of them praised her for her beauty which was not cool but still somewhat acceptable if we take it as a general conversation but now the things he said about witnessing her beauty with his own eyes was cheap.

The precap showed that Akram will eventually find out that he is getting married to Naheed & not Pari, will this eventually turn out to be karma’s spin on Naheed where she will get humiliated in front of everyone too by facing this rejection, the way Pari faced humiliation because of her? Things are super interesting so far & I can totally see them getting even better in the remaining episodes. All the actors are doing a wonderful job but till date I haven’t been able to come to terms with Zahid Ahmed’s wig. Even though I like how this drama has a very subtle dramatic feel to it, still everything in it is believable but his wig is another story. Please share your thoughts.

Aangan Episode 29 Review – The Explanation!

Ohkay so, this episode revealed the big secret; the actual explanation & Asim’s reasoning behind this decision.

This episode well & truly highlighted the importance of elders of the family & what they do if they are just, fair & rational. I love Abba Jee & Zaitoon Bano, the way the decided to do right by Laila made me respect them even more. The highlight of this episode for me was Zaitoon & Laila’s conversation. It was so beautiful that Zaitoon decided to put all her differences with Laila aside that she always had as her mother-in-law & for once decided to just be her mother, give her the shoulder to cry on & be all ears to everything that she had to say. It just warmed my heart when Zaitoon started speaking to Laila about the absence of her mother. Zaitoon felt guilty too because it was her son Asim who did this to Laila & that is why she was doing everything in her power to compensate a little & mend Laila’s broken heart. I love love love the way both Abba Jee & Zaitoon have taken matters in their hand & are trying their best to do what is right & what needs to be done. Abba Jee gave Afrah the comfort & confidence to feel like a part of the family & Zaitoon was doing the same with Laila, sharing her sorrows & wiping her tears. Who would’ve thought that the same Zaitoon who always had an issue with Laila’s attitude & temperament will console her like a mother? Love the message this drama is giving to all the parents in law. Love it!

After Zaitoon & Abba Jee, I love Shaina too, all the things she said to Laila were just so beautiful. It also emphasizes the fact that how girls who come from big families are mentally mature than their age because they firsthand experience all these things & learn lifelong lessons. Shaina is so young but because Laila has always been such a good role model, has always been like a friend, Shaina decided to say everything that she has felt for Laila to make her feel better. Laila was trying to pick up the pieces but she didn’t know where to start from but she decided to bounce back & start from her son because he is her happy place.

Haseena left quite an impression on Sajjad but Asim once again decided to take a stand for her. Even though Asim was doing justice but it was heart breaking to see him doing all those things for Hassena now that he used to do for Laila, like supporting & defending her in front of his family. Finally, it was revealed that because Haseena was very majboor & besahara, Asim decided to give her a social security but I am not too happy with that explanation. Yes, I am glad that the writer kept it simple & to an extent typical but then again, no explanation was ever going to be good enough to make this decision of Asim acceptable or less bitter. I am sure not many viewers are going to be happy with this explanation & the fact that Asim doesn’t feel wrong or at fault makes things complicated too. It’s a done deal that Laila will have to compromise & accept because that’s what Abba Jee said in the end.

Afrah came out of her shell & decided to stop acting like she was guilty of doing something wrong. She left quite an impression on Hajra. I got tired of hearing Hajra again though. I loved the way Abba Jee tried to put things into perspective & how Zaitoon also reminded her that she had a daughter too so she should actually think before being unjust to Afrah because of her hatred for her.

Zahid, what have you done? Of all the people in your circle, why did you have to tag Asim along? Just when I was feeling bad for Zahid because of the way Rubina treated him, I was happy that he again got a little beating but I must say I love his enthusiasm & the way he is always so happily advocating his stand in front of everyone, lol he is funny & very innocent!

Loved loved loved this episode but yes, I am not too happy with Asim’s explanation. I feel for Laila so much. Loving everyone’s acting especially Paras Masroor’s. Please share your thoughts.

Aangan Episode 28 Review – Heart-breaking!

Ohkay so, I loved this episode of Aangan & what I loved the most about it was the way everyone’s reaction was covered. Yes, it was a serious episode but that was given, considering the storm that the family endured lately & now when everything mellowed down, everyone was trying to gather their thoughts.

I loved the way this episode began, with Laila on everyone’s mind because they all knew what Asim meant to her. They have themselves seen the perfect relationship that Asim & Laila shared, with Asim being the center of universe for Laila so for something like that to happen to such a couple shook everyone to no end. Rubina thought of all the things that Laila said to her, Zaitoon also thought that despite their childlessness she never advocated the idea of Asim’s 2nd marriage. The things Hajra said about Laila in the past showed that Laila & Asim’s relationship could turn anyone green with envy because they were just so happy, so in love with each other.

Asim struggled too but I didn’t feel a thing for him. I liked how in this scenario, everyone without saying a word was on Laila’s side as they knew that she didn’t deserve this. Asim went to Haseena & I wish that all the things she said about Laila were based on her personal experience & interaction with Laila. I would like to believe that Asim has not said anything to Haseena about Laila or her temperament because that would be wrong on so many levels. I think it was Haseena’s own assumptions because Asim doesn’t look like someone who will speak against his wife? But well he also didn’t look like someone who’d get married behind his wife’s back so don’t really know what to expect from him anymore.

Allauddin & Anila on their own are funny & their dialogues provide that comic relief but Anila just crossed the line with Afrah I feel. I loved that both Shaina & in the end Abba Jee intervened to put an end to Afrah’s misery. She was now a part of the family & there was no doubt about that. Sadaan took that decision under a lot of pressure so now everyone had to respect that. Anila got to know that she shouldn’t have any say in this matter because Afrah was not related to her at all. I loved everything that Abba Jee said, everyone knows how Anila is but it was a high time for it to be conveyed to her.

As much as I have blamed Zahid for being stern with Rubina & as much as I have wished that he changed, Rubina’s attitude was a little disappointing because in stead of being a little thankful that it wasn’t Zahid who got married, she was still angry at him. I feel for Zahid a lot, he doesn’t have much respect in anyone’s eyes plus he is always misunderstood because the truth that he speaks doesn’t sit well with most of the family members & that gives them a chance to judge him because that’s their way of overlooking what he says but I wish after this, Rubina had at least treated him a little better. I find him very innocent!

This episode was very interesting, even though things have become so grim but I still feel connected to the characters because we enjoyed their good times so naturally we feel sad seeing their bad times too. I felt for Laila so much, the way she isolated herself & didn’t utter a word. Asim you better be ready, I wish Laila gives him a piece of her mind but I also know that because she loves him so much, she will eventually forgive him & accept his marriage to Haseena. Iffat Omar did exceptionally well in this episode. Waseem Abbas is such a treat to watch as Aalu. Please share your thoughts.

Ishq Tamasha Episode 10 Review-Illogical!

Ishq Tamasha is more of a drama you watch just for entertainment. It is not something high on content or what you’ll call the best but at least things should look real. Up till now, we have an orphan girl Mirha who is mistreated by her relatives. After a lot of bad things go down, she is finally kidnapped by our hero (like there is no other way to meet right?). Her chachi who was already looking for an opportunity to slander her character so that her only son did not marry her throws her out of the house. And now what? Now! We will see the lamest apology system which ever existed in the universe. What actually is Mehrab trying to apologize about? That he kidnapped the WRONG girl. Since he is not looking guilty about his desire to kidnap Rushna. This combined with Mehrab’s half-hearted attempts at making things better for Mirha has made the whole sequence look extremely illogical.

Ishq Tamasha Episode 10 Review-Illogical!

One thing is for sure though. Arham and Rushna deserve each other. The two ziddi bachas will compliment each other perfectly. Rushna who was shown as being emotionally wrecked over Mirha’s plight actually does not care much as she has not confessed what happened. She knows the whole story and still all she says is ke ammi aap uski baat to sunn letein. She knows Mehrab kidnapped Mirha because of her. This does not make Rushna look bad in any way and can save Mirha’s life too but she is still tight-lipped over I do not understand what. Arham is also same as Rushna. According to him, agar woh apni izzat bachana chahte hain to baat khatam karein. Really? Don’t you realize your brother just kidnapped a young lady?

The whole chachi jaan track is on repetition. And it will remain like that because the character’s sole purpose is her #SaveWahaj mission.

The preview of the next episode looks interesting. Let’s see what happens!

Singer Sohail Shahzad To Sue Rahat Fateh Ali Khan Over Plagiarism

So singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has made headlines again but not for the reasons anyone would have liked him to. Lahore-based singer Sohail Shahzad is set to file a case against Rahat Fateh Ali Khan for plagiarising his 2013 hit Naina in the 2016 Indian Punjabi film Tiger.

Talking to a renown newspaper Sohail said he plans on suing both Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and the Indian record label,

“I got to know that the song has been copied back in 2016 when people started commenting and sharing it with me on social media. I’m a fan of Happy Raikoti, the lyricist of Rabba, the copied version. So I emailed the Indian record label, explaining the situation to them, but didn’t get a response.”

Singer Sohail Shahzad To Sue Rahat Fateh Ali Khan Over Plagiarism

Sohail further added that he still hasn’t contacted or has been contacted by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan or his team,

“I can’t believe that they didn’t know my song existed and that it could be a co-incidence because the melody is similar, even the song lyrics are matched to keep the composition intact and the words are borrowed.”

He continued,

“A dedicated artist’s highest appreciation is that people follow his music, his art, and cover his songs. But it should be with credit provided to the original artist. When you get to know your work is recreated without your knowledge, it hurts. Therefore, my team and I have decided to go the legal way.”

Singer Sohail Shahzad To Sue Rahat Fateh Ali Khan Over Plagiarism

The copyrights have nothing to do with Khan since he only sang the song so Sohail was asked why he isn’t suing the record label only to which he said because suing the Indian record label meant they must have a representative in India to handle the legalities, it would make the process difficult.

“We are giving Rahat sahab the notice so his team can approach the record label because they will obviously contact him, and so that we can establish a link. I know for sure they would have known of this song before.”

He also added,

“I have suffered financial damage and it has hurt my image and popularity as well. I compose and write my songs. Because of this, some people now think I’m the one plagiarising Bollywood songs when it’s the other way around.”

He shared he is set to start a campaign against this and send a legal notice to everyone involved soon.

Meanwhile here’s the song by Sohail Shahzad,

There has been no response from Rahat Fateh Ali Khan so far.

Khamoshi Episode 31 Review-!&%!!!

Yes, nothing happened. But that is not what bothered me today in this episode since it is a must with Khamoshi. This was the second last episode of this drama and the bad guys are still winning. Kudos to the writer for this ridiculousness and double kudos to the director for not even thinking about changing it. It does not matter how Shahram is going to make everyone payback, it is still stupid that all of them are well and good at this stage.

Engagement planning is in full swing with nobody knowing when the said engagement would take place. They have gone to such lengths to make Zubiya unlikeable that it has become unrelatable instead. Who wants to try on 10 dresses just to buy one? Why a girl like Zubiya who is now getting her wishes fulfilled being bothered by gut feelings? They have maybe lost touch with the reality in a way which is non-fixable. Zubiya’s mom is another pain too and I am not going to write anything on Bee Jaan because no use repeating it.

Khamoshi Episode 31 Review-!&%!!!

Arsala is a churail (at least I am going to say that). On what grounds is she so pissed at Shahram? Girl you are the one who didn’t want to marry. You ruined Shahram. You ruined Bee Jaan, the only two people who genuinely loved you. But you are happy for Atif ki nokri and Naima ka gharr. You do not deserve a happy ending in any way.

The overall styling was also soooooo bad in this episode. With super pink lipstick paired with pinky blush, it was hurting my eyes. But then again a girl who was dancing for getting a chance to meet Naima deserves the pinkiest makeup ever.

Naima’s tantrums were again so uncalled for. But what to do? There is nothing substantial left for that character so they make her be as cringy as she can be.

I am so happy the next one is the last episode. Hope they did not change their mind and shoot another one overnight because that will be painful!

Lashkara Episode 5 Review – Very Interesting!

Ohkay so, this episode of Lashkara was amazing & very interesting. I love that despite having that comical undertone, every other situation has so much depth & meaning to it. The entire scenario that was elaborated in this episode depicted just that.

Feeka & Bubbly were to get engaged. The news of Bubbly getting married to Feeka took everyone by surprise because no one could imagine Bubbly settling for a guy like Feeka who has nothing of his own, no identity & even no personality whatsoever. Bubbly has made a huge sacrifice here & she can not explain everyone her reasons for saying yes to this proposal.

Sunny knew that he couldn’t do anything to stop this marriage from happening, therefore he came up with a very petty excuse to make a scene & punish Feeka for stepping into his territory. I couldn’t stop laughing at Feeka’s entry with his clothes torn apart & confidence shattered because this was supposed to be the best, most awaited day of his life but what just happened was not as per his plans. It was unfortunate that Nasreen at that very moment didn’t do anything to help mend his son’s bruised ego because she wanted to convey a message loud & clear to Bubbly & her family.

Even though I couldn’t help sympathize with Feeka when he cried & did feel that Nasreen shouldn’t have done what she did but later when she gave a little explanation to Feeka, I understood her perspective. Like Feeka said that Nasreen has always over-protected him & when she should’ve walked an extra mile to help her son feel better, she let him sit there feeling low & humiliated, it was because Nasreen very well knows how simple & innocent Feeka is & how Bubbly was his polar opposite so in that moment, she curbed her son’s feelings aside to shape his future with a wife like Bubbly. Nasreen had to do this because she wanted Bubbly to always live with this guilt that she was the reason why her husband was humiliated, which would obviously give Feeka an upper-hand on Bubbly. I must say, though Nasreen is not a negative character, but I like how she is manipulative in a good way that if she is aware of Bubbly’s upbringing, she is also not oblivious to her son’s shortcomings. Nasreen knew that if she hadn’t done that, it would have meant losing Feeka to Bubbly with she ruling him for the rest of their lives but just one such move was enough to let Bubbly’s parents know that they now had to send her away with a few lessons related to maintaining her husband’s dignity & taking care of his respect forever. Though Feeka was upset but once again Nasreen proved that she was being this over-protective mother that she is, doing everything to ensure her son’s happiness in the future.

I felt for Sunny so much, he knew that he crossed the line but he just didn’t expect that Bubbly would diss him because he always thought that no matter what he’d do, Bubbly will understand & appreciate his approach but sadly, that wasn’t the case this time. Nasreen’s arrow hit the bulls eye because now Bubbly was feeling ashamed & embarrassed at everything that happened & whatever Sunny did. Well, even though Bubbly ended things with him, he just couldn’t take no for an answer & tried his luck for the last time right before Bubbly was about to get engaged. Both the boys have this extreme love for Bubbly but who does Bubbly really love, that surely hasn’t been revealed. She did like Sunny & wanted to get married to him to escape Feeka but now she is going to get married to Feeka to protect her family’s name. Let’s see if this marriage takes place & will Bubbly get a chance to be with someone she well & truly loves?

This drama is just so interesting & makes a perfect weekend entertainer, especially now that it airs right after that boring Noor ul Ain, I have so much more appreciation for it. All the actors are doing such a wonderful job but Imran Ashraf steals the show, followed closely by Mohsin Abbas Haider. His emotional acting was just so convincing, like it’s not Feeka’s fault that he is so innocent & can’t really take a stand for himself, he just has been raised like that by a very strong & dominating woman like Nasreen, I just felt for him a lot. Sunny on the other hand knows how to fight his own battles but still he is losing at it because his lady love is not on his side. Their journeys are very different but interesting & both Imran Ashraf & Mohsin Abbas Haider are nailing it, I am sure no other actors could’ve done a better job. Ushna Shah is very cute & sweet as Bubbly as well. I just can’t wait to see more. The actor playing the role of Nazeer is amazing too, I enjoy his expressions the most & his presence in every scene is undeniable & same goes for the actor playing the role of Nikki, she is such a fine actor. The direction so far is just flawless. Please share your thoughts.

Noor ul Ain Episode 13 Review – Boring!

Ohkay so, a poker faced, serious heroine opening the episode with this boring look on her face is not my idea of a weekend entertainment. I was actually put off by seeing Noor’s dud expressions that too in the very first scene. This drama is boring & I don’t really think they are giving me enough reasons to continue watching it!

It is so obvious that the writer is now only adding villains in both Khizar & Noor’s lives to show how they both will stick & fight them together but is it also obvious that writer’s sympathies are with Noor more because Khizar’s past was resurfaced as well about which he himself was a bit concerned.

This drama relies heavily on the filler scenes covered by the supporting cast & they don’t really do much to help the overall story of the drama because the main or as you say, the leading track is not that strong. Ghazala kept on ranting about Noor that she accused Kashi of snatching Khizar’s phone. Sofie’s MIL has got nothing else to talk about that is why she keeps on yapping about how unhappy she is. It is funny that the MIL is concerned about the son who got rejected & is not even considering the happiness of the son who is committed. Forced situations, forced scenes, forced scenarios!

So, Mahrukh & Khizar share a past but again, even in this situation Mahrukh was shown to be negative & Khizar as a low-key victim. On Noor’s front, she has her boss who is flirting with her & Noor who claims that Khizar is her everything, didn’t bother sharing any details with him. For someone who has no one in her life, Noor surely is keeping Khizar distant. I really don’t understand the so-called deep conversations that both Noor & Khizar have because firstly, I didn’t see their relationship developing in such a setting & secondly, I don’t see any substance in their relationship either. How can Noor expect Khizar to understand her when she keeps her feelings or thoughts bottled up. They have just met so how can she expect him to know her in & out?

I found it amusing that Khizar got annoyed when Noor suggested that he should find a job. Also, it is funny that Khizar makes such tall claims where he wants to bring the entire world at Noor’s disposal, yet he is unaware of the basic fact that in order to do that, he needs a thing called money. Marina Khan’s scenes are such a joke, the way she said ‘suit yourself’ when Khizar was about to leave her house & now she talking about petty FB status update, is it a joke or what?

Anyways, the story of this drama is deteriorating & in stead of getting better, it is just going downhill. I think I will give this drama a couple of weeks more & if it fails to interest or entertain me then I will quit reviewing it. I am just not enjoying this drama & despite trying very hard, it is just not happening. Sigh! I was actually excited about Noor ul Ain but it turned out to be such a disappointment. Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 7 Review – Highs and Lows

Last week I was wondering why Woh Mera Dil Tha wasn’t airing at 8pm since it is a decent show which deserved a better slot and now quite ironically the show has been moved to the 10pm slot and from now on it will be airing on Fridays! This latest episode of Woh Mera Dil Tha focused entirely on the aftermath of the nikkah last week. This nikkah can easily be termed as the outcome of one of the biggest misunderstandings we have seen in our dramas! Even after everything that happened, Zaid hasn’t told his father the truth and Naina’s father has completely given up on her. Also, it is too late for explanations!

Things have gone from being lighthearted to extremely serious. Naina lost her parents and now has to live with a person she cannot even stand. Getting married to Naina can easily pass as Zaid’s worst nightmare come true especially because his father is going to make sure that he looks after Naina properly. There was already a lot of pressure on Zaid to find a job, now there isn’t only even more pressure on him but he doesn’t even have the option of working with his “best friend”. Sami Khan has been absolutely phenomenal as the careless young man who puts his comforts and interests before everything else! While Zaid is gutsy, his attitude tonight showed that he is incapable of feeling empathy since he was solely worried about himself. He didn’t even try to comfort Naina because he felt that he was just as much of a “victim” as she was!

Woh Mera Dil Tha Episode 7 Review - Highs and Lows

The only reason Zaid’s sister was all for this marriage was because she was hoping that she could also benefit from Naina’s wealth. Now that she knows Naina’s parents have disowned her she isn’t happy with the situation. Everyone’s reactions to this nikkah got plenty of screen time and some of these scenes were stretched too. The dialogues delivery of few of the supporting actors is too slow and few of them tend to go overboard, which is why it can be difficult sitting through their scenes. Zaid and Naina didn’t interact even once , they were like prisoners who were put in different cells!

After watching this episode, I feel for Naina and Zaid’s father more than anyone else. Even though Naina made a foolish decision but she had to pay a bigger price for it than she had ever imagined! This entire plan was Zaid’s idea, it was his way of getting himself out of trouble but it backfired therefore I feel he deserved this!! I don’t see Zaid turning into a responsible husband any time soon and it is difficult to imagine Naina playing the role of a submissive bahu or wife. Am I the only one who feels that Naina’s father over reacted and let his insecurities get the best of him?

Like every other episode of Woh Mera Dil Tha, this one too has its high and low moments but it definitely gave me a reason to tune into this play next week too. If this drama picks up pace, it will be more entertaining.
