Parwaaz Hai Junoon found itself amidst a legal battle last week when the wardrobe stylist Soomar Rehman sued the production house for not giving him credit for his work, in the latest teasers or any other promotional campaign for that matter.
As a result the court has restrained the release of any promotional content of the film. The case was filed against the production banner, MD Films on Friday, April 27 and the first hearing was held on Monday, April 30.
In a latest interview Soomar said,
“The court has passed an order and stated that the production house is not allowed to release any upcoming teasers, trailers, posters or songs without mentioning my name, at least until the next hearing.”
He further said that he demands a public apology,
“I want MD productions to tender an unconditional written apology. Apart from that I would like to receive my due credit in the film. MD Productions has a record of misusing youngsters’ talent in films.”
The next hearing of the case will be on Monday, May 7th. Looks like there’s still time before any of the fans will be able to see the trailer of this much awaited project.
People who tune into Pakistani channels on television more than any other usually keep themselves busy watching Pakistani dramas. Very often we see these viewers complaining about the lack of variety in these dramas. Now Angeline Malik, who was also behind the hit television series “Kitni Girhei Baaki Hei” is going to show the Pakistani viewers something new and different. The new drama “Courtroom” is nothing like the series and serials which we watch on television usually.
What sets this drama apart from others is that it will show stories from the real court cases which have been turned into different episodes. Maria Wasti plays one of the lead lawyers in the film, she believes that one should raise their voice against injustices. She wants to help that part of the society which is usually not given justice.
Sundas Tariq plays the role of Riz who is a criminologist. She is very good at what she does therefore all the best lawyers come to her for getting their cases solved.
Hassan Ahmed plays the role of advocate Adeel Ahmed who will also fight for the rights of his clients in the play.

An additional district and sessions judge has ordered singer Meesha Shafi’s counsel to submit a reply in a defamation suit filed by renowned singer-turned-actor Ali Zafar. Ali Zafar is seeking Rs1 billion in damages on the grounds that the sexual harassment claims by Meesha Shafi against him are false.
On Monday, Shafi’s counsel submitted the power of attorney before the court and sought further adjournment of proceedings so as to have a chance to properly read the plea. The judge accepted and adjourned the case with orders to submit a reply in the suit.
In earlier proceedings, the counsel for Zafar told the court that singer Shafi defamed his client through baseless allegations. He asked that the defendant be ordered to apologise to his client and that a fine of Rs1 billion be imposed on her for leveling baseless allegations. In his break-up of the damages, the lawyer said the singer should be made to pay Rs20 million for mental anguish, Rs80 million for loss of contracts, Rs400 million for loss of business opportunities and Rs500 million for damage to reputation.
A District and Sessions Court on Friday ordered registration of an FIR against Jang Media Group’s owner Mir Shakilur Rehman and Geo’s senior anchors – Hamid Mir and Najam Sethi – for broadcasting baseless contents against former army chief General Raheel Sharif regarding allotment of a plot.
District and Sessions, Judge Anwar Ali Khan gave the order on an application filed by an Allama Shoaib under 22-A.
The applicant’s counsel, Shan Asghar said the journalists claimed in their talk shows on January 25 that Gen Raheel got the land wrongfully allotted to him.
He said the anchors tried to damage Gen Raheel’s career and prestige and contended that the former army chief was properly allotted the land by the government.
He requested the court to register an FIR against the suspects. Later, the court ordered SHO Gulberg police station to register a case.
Actress and host Mishi Khan was indicted for a charge that was registered against her by Dr. Afshan Khan. The actress pleaded not guilty but a court in Rawalpindi indicted her today after looking at the evidence.
Dr. Afshan Khan said that she hired the actress to run an advertising campaign for her clinic for which she had paid her Rs450,000 in the form of a cheque but Mishi Khan did not keep her end of the bargain. An FIR was registered against the actress in July 2015 in New Town police station.
Mishi Khan is currently hosting a Morning Show on the channel K2. She is also going to be part of the film Janaan.
Humaira Arshad has received her first divorce from Ahmed Butt with mutual consent due to increasing misunderstandings between the couple. Humaira has also received the temporary custody of her only son till 23rd of September.
The court will pronounce its final decision will be given after September. Prior to this Ahmed Butt has the custody of the child but Humaira filed the case for the custody of the child. She spoke to the media and claimed that Butt had taken away their son by force.
Humaira also said that , “Ahmad Butt tortured me in front of people, snatched my money, and kidnapped my child and as a result I had no other choice but to make marriage a public affair.
The couple was tied in a knot in the year 2004 and now the marriage will break as Humaira will receive the other two divorce in upcoming days.
The court hearing for the Qandeel Baloch murder case began today as scheduled, the judge adjourned the hearing till tomorrow (Wednesday) as per requested by the lawyer representing the cleric in question Mufti Abdul Qavi as he appeared before a sessions court in Multan for the first time.
Mufti Qavi is currently on a pre-arrest bail that was granted last week shortly after his non-bailable warrants were issued by Judicial Magistrate Muhammad Pervaiz Khan to arrest the cleric after the investigation officer complained about the lack of cooperation at Mufti Qavi’s end.
Today appearing in the court of District and Sessions Judge Chaudhry Ameer Ahmad Khan, Mufti Qavi’s counsel requested the court for time till tomorrow so that he could prepare his arguments.
The judge granted the request and adjourned the hearing till tomorrow.
Last year on July the 16th social media model/sensation Qandeel Baloch was found strangled to death in her house in Multan’s Karimabad area. The model’s younger brother was later arrested from Dera Ghazi Khan as per the allegations placed on him by the murdered model’s father who said Waseem was guilty of killing his sister in the name of honor, after his arrest Waseem confessed to his crimes.
The controversial selfies of Qandeel with Mufti Qavi went viral on social media last year that took the social media by storm and costed the cleric his memberships of the Ruet-i-Hilal committee and the National Ulema Mushaikh Council shortly after which the model was murdered and that put Mufti Qavi under suspicion.
So far the cleric maintains that he had nothing to do with the murder but his constant reluctance to cooperate suggests differently.

Yesterday, thousands of people from every corner of Pakistan gathered to protest in their cities. They demanded safety and security for women and also removal of the CCPO from his post due to his insensitive remarks and blaming the survivor.
The main demands of protestors were: immediate removal of CCPO Lahore, introduce gender-sensitive curricula, increase government’s spending on women’s education, safety and health, women and feminists must be given space for independent political action and many more.

According to the reports, international wrestlers are coming to Pakistan next week.

Hum Network Limited, a media company has postponed Hum Showcase 2020 by keeping in view the WHO guidelines on COVID19 pandemic.
The official announcement says, “Hum Network Ltd. being one of the leading media companies has always taken its social responsibility seriously. In line with the above, keeping in view the WHO guidelines on COVID19 pandemic, it has been decided to postpone Hum Showcase 2020 until the situation becomes conducive to holding such an event.”
Hum Showcase 2020 is a three days event that was scheduled to take place between 27th-29th March in Karachi and every year it brings many fashion designers under one roof.
