Ayesha Sana’s viral videos in which she is shown shouting at people because they did not do her make up right or did not make her look ‘bright’ enough have been seen by everyone. Ayesha has decided that there is no way for her to run way from what everyone says about her so the best thing to do is to accept it. That is why when she was invited by Nida Yasir on her Morning Show she started the interview with her “bright karei” lines!

Ayesha Sana also talked about how her ambitions were curtailed because of the timings of everything private that went on in her life. She got married while she was studying so it effected her studies. She gave the credit for her picky and perfectionist nature to her teachers who in school guided her to do her best in everything. She also said that she loved doing live shows.

While talking to MAG weekly Aima Baig shared her passion for music and singing,
“I have been singing since I was seven years old, I told my parents that I want to pursue this career but they were reluctant as nobody in my family is in this field. However, after much persuasion, they eventually agreed to it. This gave me the confidence to sing in college and university, where I would participate in similar co-curricular activities.”
Aima Baig looks up to Shiraz Uppal who has advised and helped her right from the beginning of her career. Talking about him, she said,
“I met Shiraz at his studio where he asked me to audition. Initially, I thought I was only supposed to give harmonies as a back-up singer, for there were other singers present to audition as well, but later found out that all the three songs in the movie are to be sung by me including solo tracks Befikriyan and Kalabaaz Dil, which I proudly call my songs all because of Shiraz’s belief in me.”
Aima Baig also said that she was expecting to get an award so early in her career but when she got the award the way she felt could not be described in words.
“I hadn’t prepared a speech and didn’t know what to say. Being nominated was more than enough for me. However, when I won it, I thanked God and wondered kuch tou acha kia hoga ya maa ki duayain kaam agayin. Then I thanked Shiraz for giving me a shot at playback singing.”
Aima Baig also shared,
“I am glad that I’m a singer and don’t have to pretend, because I’m not pretentious at all. I’m pretty straightforward and blunt. When I don’t like someone or something, I don’t act like I do.”
Talking about her personal life, Aima said,
“I used to be in a relationship. I am not going to say I have never had a boyfriend. However, right now I’m only committed to my work,” she discloses, adding, “I give all my time to my work because it never complains, never demands, unlike a boyfriend. It’s the best relationship I could be in.”

Ever since Qandeel Baloch’s facebook page was deactivated she has been getting more attention by the Pakistani media than she was before. Mubashar Lucman gave her the attention she has been wanting for a long time by inviting her to his show. And now she was invited to the talk show on News1 in which apart from her a famous Islamic scholar was also invited and actress Maria Zahid was part of the show. Maria Zahid came to the show because few days ago she gave the statement that girls like Qandeel Baloch were spoiling the image of other women who worked in the showbiz industry.
While talking on the show Qandeel Baloch said,
“Every man in Pakistan is a pervert. Believe me, before the match many cricketers called me and said make a dance video for us.”
She took Umer Akmal’s name in particular so it remains to be seen if he will comment about this accusation or not. Canadian-Chinese actor Kent S Leung thought the language barrier wasn’t a big deal: “I actually really like performing what is non-verbal sometimes,” he revealed.
Producer Beenish Umer couldn’t get over this one difficult sequence: “We were in Hunza and sunrise was around 4:30. We got very little time to shoot a sequence! They had a flight to catch, we were on a clock and we had to send them because they would have missed their flights otherwise.”
On the whole, the project was meant to “show a different kind of cinema that people will relate to rather than follow an international style,” said director Umer Adil.
Kent further said, “I’m hoping there’s going to be actual co-productions between China and Pakistan, where they have characters who speak in Mandarin and characters who speak in Urdu. I think that would be a great opportunity for everyone.”

Few weeks ago, a campaign started at Maya Khan Show and it was named as “Hum Dulhan Waalai”.

Hamza Ali Abbasi’s controversial questions and statements in his Ramzan special show have received many reactions from the public and celebrities. Most celebrities till now have supported Hamza Ali Abbasi because they believe everyone has the right to freedom of expression and Hamza Ali was only exercising that right. Waqar Zaka is the first celebrity who has come out and expressed openly how he feels about Hamza Ali Abbasi’s actions. My first Sajal Aly drama serial was ‘Mehmoodabad Ki Malkaain‘ albeit the cast of the serial was jam-packed with new comers and fresh faces but Sajal shined right through them all and there was no stopping her. In her recent interview with ‘Dawn‘ Sajal Aly talked bout her journey so far and it is worth every bit of your time.
Talking about ‘Mehmoodabad Ki Malkaain‘ the actress said,
“It was a hit with people. I didn’t have any idea of what fame was. Anita Kamphor, who played my mother in that soap, told me ‘Channels tum par makhiyoon ki tarha ayein ge [Channels will swarm to you like flies]’, I did not understand what she meant by that, but overnight I was recognised wherever I went.”
“There was a time when no one knew me and then my face was all over. [But] I haven’t let fame get to my head. My mother made sure to keep me grounded. All these things seem very fickle sometimes.”
When asked of why she thinks this fame seems fickle she said that her mother’s death is a constant reminder to her of how unpredictable and temporary life really is.
“I lost my mother within 17 days. I took my family for Umrah. It was a trip I had planned for them. When we came back, all of us suffered from a slight fever which we thought was due to exhaustion, except that her temperature didn’t come down to normal.”
She was wrapping the shooting of ‘Mom’ at the time,
“Hospital tests confirmed her cancer and the end just happened so suddenly. I had a shoot scheduled for a song in Bangkok and when I came back, I barely got to spend seven days with her,”
“One day she was with us, the next day she was gone. Whatever happened next is still a blur. The day my mother died, this very lounge was filled with people. I have no clue how I found the strength to get through it all, but I did.
“After what I have been through in life, I find it difficult to take stardom seriously. My first photo shoot was done by Nighat Apa at Depilex who also styled me for the Icon shoot. I met her after all these years. She told me years ago not to change and the day of the shoot I told her I still remember her advice. It surprises me though when seniors praise me. I met Khushbakht Shujaat at the Hum Awards and she met me like a fan. She saw me and said, ‘Sajal, I can’t believe I am sitting next to you.’ I felt a tad overwhelmed.
When talking about her contemporaries the Mom actress said that it’s the versatility of her roles that makes her stand out, that she was lucky to come across such strong characters at such an initial phase of her career.
“I guess I have been lucky to have all these roles. Very early in my career, I faced a situation with a senior actor that upset me. I was fairly new in the business but I gave the role my best shot. However, my face was removed from all the promotional materials [at her behest] and I cried for a while wondering why I wasn’t part of the promotional campaign. I am well past that point now and my work speaks for itself. People here don’t appreciate others. When you accept the talent of the person working opposite you, it not only makes you a bigger actor but an even bigger person. Appreciating someone new is a big thing,”
“Work keeps coming my way. I don’t even know how I ended up with Mom but it was a lovely experience,”

Speaking of her evolution as an actress Sajal stated that her role as Sassi in O Rangreza has surely set the bar higher,
“But audiences are still uncomfortable with the idea of a strong, opinionated female character who goes against social norms. Hamare yahan baaghi larki kissay aachi lagti hai? Heroine ghar mein baithee ho, roti dhoti pasand hai [Who likes a rebellious girl in our society? They all want the heroine to be home-bound, crying her eyes out].
“In our society, independent women do exist. We don’t need to find them, they are in front of us — from the maids who work in our homes to the superstars on TV, to a policewoman and the female prime minister,” she says. “Read Manto and you will find such strong-headed characters. Watch Tanhaiyaan and Ankahi and you will see more of such women. The only problem is that, as a society, we are afraid of a woman who challenges the norms no matter how regressive or decadent those norms are. We easily judge these women as buri auratein [fallen women] to justify our egos.”
Sajal Aly also talked about her tiredness with people’s ‘Ye kya dikha rahe hain’ attitude,
“People need to chill! Entertainment ko entertainment ki tarha lein, sab kuch dramoon se kyon seekhna hai? Kitabein khol ke baith jayein. People complain kya, kya dikha rahe hain TV par. Bhai, TV ka kaam aap key bachchay paalna nahi hai [Entertainment should be taken only as entertainment. Why do we have to learn all of life’s lessons through dramas? You should read books for that. People complain that TV channels show everything these days. But it’s not TV’s job to raise your children].”
Talking about her roles over the years she said Sassi is so far her most favorite,
“From all these years, Sassi is my favourite character. I have often played street-smart girls, plain Janes and simpletons, but this was a different experience. As an actor I had to push my boundaries and open up emotionally. It has so many layers and shades, and people might be struck by Sassi’s brashness but they can’t hate her.”
Talking about her future plans Sajal said that she doesn’t plan on being an actress for the rest of her life she wants to travel and learn music and when she’d find the right person she’d consider settling down.
For now she is the woman of the hour and boy is she enjoying that!

Hassan Sheheryar, the famous designer come host is everyone’s favorite. He is currently hosting ‘Tonite with HSY’ and now he is on his way to direct the next show of Lux Style Awards.
Recently, Something Haute got in touch with the star to ask him how he feels about directing LSA and how has the journey been so far.
Upon asking that it’s been over 20 years of directing fashion events but this is the first time he’ll be directing an awards show of this magnitude. How does it feel? He said:
“It’s incredible. For me Lux has been the award of excellence and it has been about everything to do with fashion and style. It’s my first memory of the time Shaan stole the stage when he performed with Saima. I remember crying my heart out in Malaysia when I won my first award. I was so young and the award was so much larger than us.”
Upon asking how timing has always been the biggest challenge; how does he intend to control that?
“Timing is of the essence. I’m calculating every single minute of the program. Timing can only happen if it’s controlled in minute ways. There are 30 awards that must be given. There has to be time allotted. So it’s two-tiered. The show time will be managed intricately. Getting the stars and celebrities in on time has to be managed just as carefully. That connectivity needs to happen and we’re working on it from the get go. The first two performances will get things going…I have a lot of good will with the stars. I’m not new to them and I have attended and accepted awards with these guys so I’m hoping to bank on all that.”
When asked about what other hurdles he might have face, he said:
“Wherever I see a hurdle I take it out. I’m taking people out. Give people love and respect but demand the same in return. It’s no nonsense.”
And finally, when he was asked that Frieha Altaf has been directing the Lux Style Awards for 15 years. How does it feel to step into her shoes?
“Hers are the largest shoes to fill. I would have never pitched had the LSAs not asked me to pitch. Frieha is an institution. To fill her shoes would be an impossible task and I can’t say I can do it. I just hope to do justice to all her work and I hope I can bring a newness to the show. When it comes to Frieha I hope she comes and watches so that I can thank her for creating this incredible platform. There is immense respect and love between us and I hope to keep it that way.”
Upcoming film “Ghabrana Nahi Hai” is written by Mohsin Ali and directed by Saqib Khan. The film will be produced under the banner of JB Films, helmed by Jamil Baig, while it will be co-produced by Hassan Zia. “Ghabrana Nahi Hai” features Saba and Zahid in lead roles. The film had previously aimed for an Eidul Azha 2020 release, however, shooting for the project had to be postponed due to the pandemic.

The eyebrows of many actor of Pakistan were raised with the success and fame of Ertugrul. They raised their concerns that its impacting their own industry.
Muneeb Butt recently in an interview with Rafar Rashidi talked about the negative impact of Ertugrul on Pakistan media industry. He supported his argument giving the example of Alif and Meray Pass Tum Ho.
“Everyone after watching Ertugrul is against our industry now, that why don’t we make such dramas. In my personal opinion drams like Ertugrul are rarely produced. I am its biggest fan personally ” said Muneeb Butt

Meera has mastered the art of making news every time she is given a forum to speak on. Her views on acting, showbiz, Pakistani Film Industry, media and life in general are always all over the tabloids, since she is very vocal about everything.
Recently, she has spoken to Express News and talked quite in detail about her career. We have some excerpts for you here;
Talking about the film industry, Meera said that there is a conspirator lobby that does not want our movies to flourish. That is why movies are being made and actors and actresses are working in them but we don’t have any super star yet.
Meera also remembered her journey that when she had entered showbiz, nobody could dream that an ordinary girl like me would reach such heights of success and fame. She said “I am so successful now that people are associating themselves with my name”. She added that she does not mind when peopl e try to associate with her to achieve popularity but she wants to remind that she has only achieved so much through sheer hard work. So, they should concentrate on working harder, rather than taking Meera’s name for finding a short cut to fame.
Meera further explained that she has performed well in many different roles in Lollywood and hence she was offered to perform in Bollywood movie. There are actresses who have invested their own money to bag roles in Bollywood, but when you compare the work, you can easily spot who is talented and who is not.
She said she is well aware of the fact that people use her name to achieve cheap popularity. Some make her parodies, some spread untrue rumours about her and some even claim to be married or engaged to her, but she is so used to all these rumours by now that she merely laughs them away.
Meera is very thankful to Almighty that He has given her such talent that she becomes the centre of attention wherever she goes.
This is why her fellow actresses become jealous of her.
Rubina Ashraf is a versatile actress who has been attached to the drama industry for a very long time. She was invited by Faysal Qureshi as a guest on his new Morning Show “Salam Zindagi” on ARY Zindagi. Faysal Qureshi was hosting a Morning Show on TV One but then he decided to give himself a break because he felt that he could not give dramas enough time because of the show. Now he is back hosting his own show and no one is as happy about it as Rubina Ashraf.
When Rubina Ashraf came to the show she could not hide her excitement. She said that Faysal Qureshi was the best Morning Show host. She also said,
“I am a Morning Show person, I want to watch these shows in the morning and when Faysal was hosting the show before I used to call him daily during his shows on his cell phone and he always answered my calls.”
Rubina Ashraf is very happy that Faysal Qureshi is hosting a Morning Show once again. Usually celebrities do not express their likes and dislikes very openly because they don’t want to offend other colleagues but Rubina Ashraf was very open about who she thought was the best.

The host asked Mahira if the rumor that Fawad Khan was jealous of Mahira’s fame and success was true. Mahira was surprised to hear this because she said that Fawad Khan was a very close friend and it was out of question that he will ever be jealous of Mahira Khan. She said that she would never be jealous of Fawad’s success either because his success is her success and vice versa.

Sonam Kapoor on the other hand has not been able to win the hearts of the critics, “Sonam Kapoor is perpetually high-pitched, shrieking and giggling without much purpose. For someone with limited acting talent, Mili appears to be a fun part to play, especially since it doesn’t require much skill. But, even that Sonam doesn’t pull off,” writes Sneha May Francis of Emirates247.
“Sonam Kapoor plays the clumsy Mili and manages to impress occasionally but the problem is that she never surrenders to the character completely. The invisible Chanels and Guccis come in the way. She might call her mother with her name and scream “MANNNNJUUUU yaar” but falters at many occasions to play the loud Delhi lass, “ writes Lokesh Dharmani of masala.com.

Whatsapp is reportedly working on adding a new feature called “Expiring Media”. This feature will work similar to the feature on Instagram that allows a picture in a private conversation to be seen only once.
As you might know, WhatsApp Beta for Android v2.20.201.1 was released on the Google Play Store. Like always, Wabetainfo looked closely for potential upcoming features in the new Beta version and they have found some.
According to Wabetainfo, the Expiring Media is an extension of the Expiring Messages feature.
Here’s How This Whatsapp Feature Will Work:
Whenever you send an expiring media whether its an image, video or a GIF, the media will automatically delete from the recipient’s phone, once he leaves the chat.
When Whatsapp adds this new feature to its application, a button for this specific fuction willbe added.
“After tapping the button, the feature will be enabled for the selected media,” Wabetainfo said.
Furthermore, there is no time as the media sent will completely disappear after viewing it. “Expiring media will appear in a different way in the conversation, so you can easily understand that the image is going to expire,” Wabetainfo further explained the upcoming feature.
Currently, there is no feature for the sender to know whether a screenshot of his expired media was taken or not.

For all the fans of Sanam Baloch and her latest Television Film “Ek Thi Marium” here is the good news. The Paragon Productions have collaborated with Cinepax Cinemas to bring an Urdu1 Pictures telefilm “EK Thi Marium” on the silver screen by releasing it nationwide on the 21st October 2016.
As already known that Ek Thi Marium, is a Pakistani biographical television film which is based on the first female fighter pilot Shaheed Marium Mukhtar and was aired on Urdu 1 for the very first time on Defense Day on television.
The main lead role in the film has been played by Sanam Baloch,the roles of Marium’s parents have been played by Hina Khawaja Bayat and Behroze Subzwari . The producer of telefilm is Nina Kashif and director is Sarmad Sultan Khoosat, and the writer is none other than Umera Ahmad.
Regarding the film the producer Nina Kashif said, “It’s just not a story of a real hero but the movie outlines a strong, positive message about parents who have confidence in their daughters and allow them to grow as strong individuals who are capable of achieving something big in life, of doing something extraordinary”.
The General Manager of Cinepax said “This initiative to bring Ek Thi Marium in theaters is an important step towards educating the society for letting women pursue their dreams and break social barriers, Cinepax”.

After the venerating success of Churials Zee5 have dropped the trailer of next Pakistani Web Series Ek Jhooti Love Story directed by Mehreen Jabbar and Written By Umera Ahmed.
The Web series Ek Jhoothi Love Story boasts a stellar cast with Bilal Abbas Khan and Madiha Imam in the lead, along with popular artists like Kiran Haq, Kinza Razzak, Hina Bayaat, Mariam Saleem, Beo Raana Zafar, Mohammed Ahmed and Fawad Khan.
Talking about her upcoming series Imam says, “Ek Jhoothi Love Story is not just a love story. The show depicts different kinds of love, and the various forms it can take. We have put our hearts and souls in the show, and I am waiting to see the audience’s reaction to the trailer.”
The trailer depicts the story of two people Salma and Sohail from middle-class families, on their journey of finding ideal partners.
Dunk is one of the most anticipated dramas that will be aired in the end of 2020 or in early 2021. Till now center of attraction of drama serial Dunk is its cast which incudes Sana Javed and Bilal Abbas Khan in leading roles. People are pretty much excited to see the chemistry of this fresh pair.
The drama features famous stars including Shahood Alvi, Fahad Sheikh, Laila Wasti, Saifi Hassan, Salma Hassan, Kanwal Khan, Noman Ejaz, and Azekah Daniel.
The drama is produced under the banner of Big Band Productions and people are more than excited for this new project.
In a a recent interview Bilal Abbas Khan shared details About his upcoming drama serial Dunk and said:
“I can’t talk much about it, but its a very controversial topic and I know it will be discussed a lot. Although my character isn’t very challenging or out of my comfort zone its a very normal character. Story is very good, team is same as that of Cheekh, Balla, Ishqiya. But I am pretty much hopeful and excited that its gonna be a good project”
Dukhtar is an upcoming Pakistani film which has been shot in Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghizer and Kalar Kahar and Lahore. The film has been written and directed by Afia Nathaniel and produced by Muhammad Khalid Ali. It is a road trip thriller based on the story of a “mother and her ten-year-old daughter who flee their home on the eve of the girl’s marriage to a tribal leader. A deadly hunt for them begins”.
While talking to the Express Tribune the director of the film said, “You will get to see a strong Pashtun woman in the lead role in a film (Dukhtar) that doesn’t require her to do an item song. How often do you get to see that depiction in Pakistani cinema?”
The star cast of the film includes some big names like Samiya Mumtaz, Mohib Mirza, Saleha Aref, Ajab Gul and Samina Ahmed. While talking to Express Tribune the director said that when she was writing the script she had Samiya Mumtaz playing the lead character in her mind.
“Articulating an emotional journey through surreal landscapes was an important task for me. The film has a heart and it’s got the cinematic oeuvre and that’s why Dukhtar is different from other films in the Pakistani market,”said the director of the film.
“A good film is one that stays with you long after you have left the cinema theatre. I’m pretty confident that Dukhtar has that kind of potential. Once the film is released, it belongs to the audience. And so, I leave my trust with them,” says Nathaniel.
The film is releasing on the same date as Operation 021 so it will have some tough competition.
Sanam Saeed has played some very strong and memorable characters in Pakistani dramas. Sanam Saeed is also a well-known model but as Sanam Saeed revealed in one of her interviews she has never enjoyed modelling because she was a tom boy since her childhood so dressing up and looking glamorous isn’t something she wanted to do.
Sanam Saeed also said, “While choosing a project I look for character-driven roles. Looking beautiful on-screen is never a priority. There are girls who enjoy looking beautiful on television but I am not one of them. There are already a lot of vices in our society, dramas should not only show these vices but give people solutions to end them too.”
Sanam Saeed believes that being in this position she has a social responsibility. She said that she feels very happy when people tell her that their lives changed for the better because of the characters she plays in her dramas. “Women can relate to the characters I play on television and if these characters show them a way out of their tough situations, it makes me happy,” said the actress.
Sanam Saeed said that she never wanted a big wedding but the event was totally opposite of what she had always wanted. Sanam Saeed said the biggest achievement of her life was when a girl tells her that she changed her life because of her dramas.
Rauf Klasra is a well-known journalist who has worked with the mainstream newspapers and channels of Pakistan. Currently he is working with ARY. ARY had an open discussion on the recent controversy regarding the film Phantom in which Hamza Ali Abbasi, Hafiz Saeed and Rauf Klasra were invited to talk about the issue. Rauf Klasra completely negated the idea of banning films. He said addressing Hamza Ali Abbasi and all the others who wanted the film banned because it was against Pakistan, “Some people have limited patriotism by their own definitions. Anyone who goes out of this circle which they have created he or she is termed as a traitor, agent of RAW and not a patriot. We have made Pakistan a terrified society in which people’s religion and culture is in danger whenever they do something even a little wrong. People do not live like this in any other part of the world.”
He also went on to say, “we get fatwas on daily basis, things are getting banned on daily basis. Take for example youtube which was banned in Pakistan, it isn’t even banned in Saudi Arabia; the place where Islam started but our Islam is in danger.”
He also said that films do not get banned anywhere else in the world like they get banned in Pakistan. According to him, “Indian films were banned in Pakistan for so many years, which Oscar winning movies did we make in that period? These filmmakers should compete with Indian films, the Pakistani filmmakers do not want to compete. These filmmakers and actors should be thankful that Indian films are being shown in cinemas because that gives them a chance to make better films and compete with them. Banning things is not the solution to the problem.”
He also said that Zee Zindagi is showing Pakistani dramas in India in which they have given Pakistani drama industry a chance to show their culture. He also said, “Don’t force us to watch Pakistani films by banning Indian films but try to compete with Indian films!”
Agha Ali supported everything that Rauf Klasra said by giving this status update:
Hamza Ali Abbasi has been seen as the morality police by many people because of his recent comments about item numbers and various other aspects of films in particular. But the actor wants everyone to know that he is not the morality police. In another status Hamza Ali Abbasi said that every comment that he has ever made whether it was about gay marriages, item numbers or about not working in India has been taken in the wrong context by many people. He said that he never has any person in mind when he gives such comments so people should stop manipulating his words.
