The teasers of Hum TV’s most anticipated drama Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay are out.The upcoming drama is a star studded project of Hum television which is written by the ace writer Umera Ahmed. Hum Kahan Ke Sachay Thay became the most awaited drama sooner after its announcement by Mahira Khan.

Mahira Khan will be seen making her television comeback with it. Kubra Khan will also be seen in a negative role in the drama. Nadia Jamil is coming back to television screens after a hiatus of two years with a bone chilling project, titled Damsa. Teasers of the drama have already started doing rounds on ARY Digital and from what we have seen so far, Damsa will be highlighting the menace of child trafficking that notoriously exists in our society and keeps growing.

Damsa has been written by Khaani famed writer Asma Nabeel who has always tackled social issues with her pen. From the plight of a transgender child to bonded labor and even acid attacks, Asma Nabeel has highlighted troubling issues with her stories and now with Damsa, she has taken a step further ahead, tapping into the dark realms of child trafficking and how it affects the parents and children who become victimized by a racket.

Damsa has been directed by Najaf Bilgrami, and produced by Wajahat Rauf under Showcase Productions.

The teasers show the trauma a mother goes through when her daughter is kidnapped right infront of her eyes. Damsa, stars child actor Emaan Khan alongside Nadia Jamil, Shahood Alvi and Saleem Mairaj who plays the leader of the child trafficking ring that kidnaps Damsa.

A new Sindhi Series is all set to hit the screen on KTN which is a local Sindhi channel. The drama stars the famous Sindhi actress Rubi Ali.

Well from the trailer it looks like the drama makers are deeply inspired from Ertugrul and they have also made a drama based on war. Sevak is an upcoming Pakistani Web series which has been produced by Vidly. The series has been directed by ace director Anjum Shehzad who is famous for his popular project Mah-e-meer. Web series Sevak is a Vidly original production and it has been shot completely. Soon, Sevak will be available on Vidly. The cast of the web series include Nayyar Ijaz, Mohsin Abbas Haider, Adnan Jaffer, Hajra Yamin, Nazar ul Hassan, Fahad Hashmi and many other talented actors.

Well, the story is based on a murder mystery of a Sikh officer who got killed. The web series is based on true events which occurred in the timeline of 1984 to 2022. Animation is no more rare in Pakistan because there have been quite many projects based on animations. Haroon Rashid’s Burka Avenger, Sharmeen Obaid’s 3 Bahadur and now it’s Muhammad Asim’s Tick Tock.

The series is based on true events and aims to educate children on history. Tick Tock is featuring voices of renowned television and film artists, Ghulam Mohiuddin, Alyy Khan, Ahsan Khan and Maria Memon.

Previously in conversation with HIP, Aly Khan stated, “Tick Tock is basically about teaching children about significant events of Pakistan’s history. I’m lending my voice to one of the four characters who take the series forward. It’s typical but done intelligently, highlighting facts that must be taught.”

“The series is still in the making. Hence, we can’t reveal the story-line yet,” said Omair Alavi. “All I can say is, Tick Tock has an educational plot and will be launched in 2017.”

The series is scripted by Omair Alavi and produced by Sana Tauseef. The teaser of the animated series is already out and looks quite promising.

Upcoming comedy/thriller film Jackpot is all set to hit the cinemas in 2017. The Film is Directed by Shoaib Khan and Produced by Khurram Riaz and Shoaib khan; written by Babar Kashmiri. From there on it travels from Pakistan to Phuket, Thailand and back again to Pakistan, and with it travel other characters running after the lottery, from one country to another. That’s why the name is Jackpot,” he said.

While the first spell of the shoot has been shot in Thailand, the director is quick to mention that Coral Island and James Bond Island have been their choice of locations for the shoot. “It’s the first Pakistani film to be shot on James Bond Island,” he proudly claims.

“The camera unit, including the DOP, is from India. The Indian crew came to Thailand for the shoot and will also come to Pakistan [for the remaining spell]. As for the technical facilities, they were brought from Bangkok to Phuket, you can say that 80-90 of the entire cast and crew was in Thailand for the shoot,” added Khurram.

Elaborating on Javed Sheikh’s role in the film, the producer explained that the actor will be playing “the don.”

“He’ll be seen in a different avatar, he has never been seen like this before,” he concluded.

Abida Parveen is a Pakistani singer counted amongst the world’s greatest mystic singers and one of the foremost exponents of Sufi music (Sufiana kalaam). The versatile singer is primarily a singer of ghazals and sings in several languages including Urdu, Sindhi, Saraiki, and Punjabi. She is the uncrowned queen of sufi music and is the pride of Pakistan. Not only has she made her name known and respected in Pakistan but world-wide too.

A teaser of Ahat Si by this Legend came out recently and it is just great! The video portrays traditional settings. Saima Ajram, a famous host and presenter at the BBC Asian Network, is dressed in an alluring, graceful white dress wearing jhumkay,churyan and other traditional jewellery pieces . The entire ensemble gives a very graceful look that is very fitting for this romantic ghazal. The theme of the ghazal is  about a woman waiting for the love of her life..

8969 an upcoming film (or tele film) starring Saba Qamar, Hussain Tiwana, Sadaf Hamid, Azeem Sajjad, Anam Malik, Haseeb Khan, Sama Shah, Noor-ul-Hassan, Princess Zoni, Oun Sarwar, &  A J Khan. It is directed by Azeem Sajjad. Azeem Sajjad is an actor/director from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, who started his career from PTV Peshawar Center. Azeem Sajjad has recently directed the Pashto drama Za Pakhtoon Yum for Khyber TV.

The film also has a song starring Saba Qamar as Mastani which they are promoting as item song. However Saba Qamar has termed it as a routine song. Saba has also informed that it is a tele film, however the facebook page of 8969 is promoting it as a film.

Zeb Bangash has always been a very impressive and impactful singer, not only because of her voice quality but also her ability to sing in six different languages flawlessly.

She had formed a band Sandaraa with Brooklyn musician Micheal Winograd, and the teaser of their song Farz Karo is released this month. It will sway you with the deep vocals and beautifully promising lyrics.

Oscar Winner, Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy is coming up with an animated film named ‘Teen Bahadur’. The film is distributed by ARY films, and features three kids as main roles fighting against evil forces.

An upcoming film ‘Saladin’ is set to shake the entertainment industry. The teaser which released recently proves that it’s not like any typical one but promises to be different and extremely interesting.

The film will be based on a Muslim ruler Salahuddin Ayyubi who was the first sultan of Egypt and Syria and the founder of the Ayyubid Dynasty. The movie is set to highlight the ruler’s compassion, generosity, military skills and most of all immense respect for all even during a period of hatred and religious fanaticism.

The teaser was shot entirely in Lahore and looks amazing. Umar Agha, a film graduate from Columbia University, is behind this concept and researched a lot to discover the legend Saladin (Salah ad-Din Yusuf ibn Ayyub). The teaser has already created buzz in Hollywood and there have been positive responses coming up. The team of ‘Saladin’ needs funds to continue their project and create a proper feature film.

We hope the team gets the funding it requires because we just can’t wait to see more of these impressive visuals.

Mai Dhai may have come to the forefront just a few years back, but has proved to be different yet entertaining. She rose to national prominence after appearing as a featured artist in eight season of music series Coke Studio. Her demure looks give no way to her prowess of capturing the audience with her wide range of rhythm, merged with the high-pitched and high-strung vocals that compel you to listen.

Dhai has collaborated with emerging singer Natasha Baig for the upcoming soundtrack. Produced by Saad Hayat, the song titled Kesaria is in Marvari language and will be released on January 15. The music video which has been directed by Hassan Ali Effendi and shot by Aamir Mughal explores the culture of Tharparkar. The teaser of Kesaria is out.

In conversation with the Hip, Natasha Baig stated, “The video of the song was shot in Thar. The song is in Marwari but there will be subtitles in the video, and I hope people appreciate the lyrics.”

According to Natasha, Mai Dhai came up with the idea for the collaboration. “We speak different languages, but we managed to build a bond.”

Sharing more on the theme of the song Natasha Baig said, “Kesaria means beloved, and anyone could be your beloved. This includes a lover, a friend , a parent, or even God.”

When asked about the theme of the video, Natasha stated, “We have shown a lot of peace and harmony in the video because in the place where it’s shot, Hindus and muslims live peacefully. They all dress the same and there’s now segregation based on religion.”
