Nadia Afgan, a talented Pakistani actress, is known for her tremendous acting skills. She gained massive popularity, love, and respect for her role in the Suno Chanda series.
Nadia took a bold step and talked about the actual reason behind ”Mera Jisam Meri Marzi. ” People have been taking this statement very wrong. They believe that women use these words for their physical appearance and fashionable dressing. But that’s not true at all.
Mera Jisam Meri Marzi is a slogan used by women to raise their voices against violence, harassment, rape, and kidnapping. It is to stop men from sexually harassing them, beating them to death, staring them, and killing them.
This march is for all those poor children, teenagers, wives, mothers, and daughters who are the victims of domestic violence and sexual harassment. We are strong enough to stop men from doing all this. We are bold enough to raise our voices. You can’t stop us!
Nadia Afgan explained Mera Jisam Meri Marzi very beautifully. What do you all think? Tell us in the comments section below.
Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar is the talk of the town these days. After getting massive respect and love for his hit drama serial Meray Pass Tum Ho, he is involved in controversies.
During a live show, he abused and disrespected Marvi Sarmad. He used disgraceful and unethical words on a live tv show and showed his harsh side. Many celebrities raised his voice against him and felt ashamed for working with him.
Mansoor Ali Khan, a host of To The Point on Express-News, called Khalil-ur-Rehman as a guest on his show. The reason for calling him on the show was to ask why he used abusive language for a woman on a live TV show.
Mansoor asked him whether he is sorry for what he said, felt guilty, and wanted to apologize for his behavior. Khalil confidently said he is not sorry at all. He doesn’t feel bad for whatever he said to Marvi. ”If someone will misbehave with me, I will behave badly.” These were his words.
If you are on a television screen, you should act as a role model. But Khalil-ur-Rehman is a short-tempered human being who is not sorry for disrespecting a woman on a live show. He further added that he will say sorry ten times, only if Marvi will apologize for her Shut Up.
Ushna Shah, a fine Pakistani actress, has earned massive popularity for her intense acting. She gave back to back hit Urdu dramas and never failed to impress her fans. From an innocent poor girl to a clever greedy woman, she has done every role with a class.
Ushna is an open-minded and bold actress who always stood against violence. She has helped as a social worker for creating awareness among the society, and to make Pakistan a better place to live in.
During Bol Night with Ahsan Khan, Ushna Shah shared a story that impressed her. She loves animals and is against hurting animals. She watched a Turkish video where a soccer team started playing with a street dog. It was a happy moment! They take care of street animals as much as they care for their pets. But we Pakistanis are rude toward animals. It’s our responsibility to take care of them because they can’t speak. Animals are living creatures and we should protect them.
Ohkay so, this episode of Ye Dil Mera seemed never ending. The gazillion commercial breaks of Hum TV along with poor audio quality & delayed timing of Hum Tv’s Live Streaming doesn’t help the drama-watching experience either. This is something they should pay heed to for their overseas viewers who tune to watch the drama while it is airing in Pakistan simultaneously. It was good to see the rest of the characters for a break because in the previous few episodes, it was more or less only Amaan & Ana in the picture. I think the story-tellers have taken their sweet time, therefore they should now pick up a speed & cover the rest of the story by showing Amaan’s revenge & solve the mystery around Nilo Baji’s death.
The Ultimate Question
Let me begin by asking a serious question, Farhana Khala ka sabun slow hai kya? Please don’t tell me a curious soul like Farhana stumbled upon Nilo Baji’s last & final letter almost 2 decades after her death? This has to be the most unconvincing & unrealistic development in the story or maybe the writer had something else in her mind but the director couldn’t really do much more than to ruin the timing & everything surrounding this important detail? The viewers did get to see how Farhana Khala was obsessed with Nilo Baji when she came to Pakistan, so it already is pretty explanatory that Nilo Baji & mystery surrounding her death was always at the back of her mind, so why wasn’t she looking for answers before? Yes, we can also give her a benefit of doubt considering that she got married & was probably raising 2 children, who are more like na maloom afraad in the story, so she got pretty occupied with her marital life & motherhood in general but still? If they had shown it to be a span of a few years, it still would’ve made some sense but 2 decades?
Please don’t expect the viewers to buy the fact that a character as curious as Farhana sat still for almost 2 decades before she started looking for answers. She knew the details like how her parents came back unsatisfied, full of ambiguities about Nilo Baji’s death, so this factor stayed with her for all these years, but still she never decided to look into it & only grew more curious because she visited Pakistan & saw everyone’s reactions & hesitation in answering her questions regarding her sister? Another aspect that made this entire scenario far more unrealistic & unconvincing was that just moments before Farhana declared that she had saved these few things & oftens looks at them to connect with her family & recall their memories, so it just had to be this day after 2 decades going through a pile of few randomly folded papers she saw Nilo Baji’s letter? Please!
I am not sure if I should even expect Ana to show some redeeming qualities or maybe like in a typical Ahsan Talish fashion, she will miraculously grow up & take charge of everything in her life in the last 2 minutes of the last episode of Ye Dil Mera? The only interesting thing was that finally after studying Amaan’s behavior closely for a few days, she has finally started seeing him for who he is & is becoming suspicious. She stumbled upon her necklace & found it in a dustbin. It was enough to disturb her & I am glad she took that as a hint & didn’t just let it pass. Amaan’s strange attitude towards Ghouri also was quite off-putting for Ana. Ana also screened Farhana Khala’s calls & when she finally decided to receive one of them, she just didn’t really pay heed to how rattled she sounded on the phone. Once again, not too sure if the viewers should expect much from Ana’s character because after 19 episodes, the viewers should at least have that much clarity but in this case, it is quite ambiguous!
Amaan for now is pretty much in control of everything, at least so far this is what he thinks but other than that, nothing much happened apart from him shouting at Ana & then acting as if nothing happened. This side of his personality is realistic & makes a lot of sense because it is like after a build up, after he yells or screams, he channels out his pent up anger & then gets the breather to behave normally.
Meer Farooq is pretty much done with Sahira, this is why he is sending her away because he can totally foresee her causing more trouble to him in the future. Sahira will obviously get caught as suggested in the next promo but it seems even Meer Farooq will get to know some details about Amaan that will make him suspicious.
Move The Story Forward
Overall this episode of Ye Dil Mera actually didn’t have much to offer & neither did it take the story forward. The only development worth noticing was Farhana Khala getting to read Nilo Baji’s letter & her father’s diary but because of the fact that she was getting to do all that after 2 decades, it failed to leave an impact. Also, if their father could not share everything with his wife, wasn’t there someone else? A phupho, a chacha, his best friend, his business partner, a colleague or anyone random that he would’ve cared to share some details with? Even a psychopath like Meer Farooq has maintained a healthy relationship with Ghouri, so please don’t tell me that Farhana’s father didn’t have anyone except his diary? Forever alone?
It won’t be wrong to say that some of the scenes have started to seem repetitive, especially Amaan & Ana’s. Everytime Amaan blatantly lies in front of his wife only to later ask her if she was bothered about it or not? Ana not showing any signs of distress after being yelled at by Amaan? Sitting on a sofa aimlessly throughout the day & picking up the pieces by asking Imam-din questions about Amaan & his belongings? I really hope the next episode is promising & offers something substantial because it is becoming a teensy bit hard to maintain an interest in Ye Dil Mera at this stage. Anyways, goes without saying that Ahad Raza Mir’s performance was phenomenal. Please share your thoughts about this episode of Ye Dil Mera.

Only a few months back Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar was known for his dramas alone. He did not give a lot of interviews so people knew very little about his personal views. When Mere Pass Tum Ho went on air and at the same time Khalil-ur-Rehman made his own film, things changed completely. The man who for obvious reasons did not believe in giving interviews was all of a sudden everywhere. Since Mere Pass Tum Ho was such a mega hit, everyone was interested in knowing more about the writer. He gave interviews on every single forum and some of the things he said came under scrutiny. That did not stop him from continuing giving even more interviews in which he kept on saying such things and eventually he ended up showing a side of him which was both ugly and disturbing.
The Criticism and The Interviews
Mere Pass Tum Ho was criticized after the ‘du takay ki aurat’ dialogue became viral. While there were many viewers who thought that the dialogue was well-suited for the situation shown in the drama, there were many others who saw this dialogue as a statement by the writer. Many of the women in particular severely criticized the writer for calling a woman ‘du takay ki’. Since this dialogue was spoken by the male protagonist therefore those people who criticized the play were of the opinion that no man could decide the worth of a woman therefore this dialogue was highly inappropriate. Even the leading writers and actors criticized it.
When the criticism started outpouring, Khalil-ur-Rehman was questioned about his stance on women in general. Many people were of the opinion that his script basically showed his personal opinion about women. The reply Khalil-ur-Rehman gave went viral overnight. He said that he was the biggest feminist but then he also decided to define who a woman was in his opinion. According to him only those women who were faithful and chaste deserved the title of ‘womanhood’. Any other woman like the main protagonist of the drama Mere Pass Tum Ho did not deserve respect or any of the rights the faithful women deserved.
Khalil-ur-Rehman’s opinion about women became the center of attention for all the wrong reasons and started a never-ending debate. From there on many viewers thought Khalil-ur-Rehman was a misogynist who was trying to shape up public opinion according to his own thinking. Khalil-ur-Rehman kept on giving one interview after the other and he did everything from contradicting himself to presenting such definitions of feminism that it baffled everyone.
Later on, the news about his second marriage also surfaced and that is when people started questioning his private life even more. In the Mere Pass Tum Ho special show which aired on ARY, Khalil-ur-Rehman clearly was not in the mood to take criticism and Humayun Saeed was sitting right next to him to calm him down.
Should He Be Banned?
It won’t be wrong to say that even with all his writing expertise lately Khalil-ur-Rehman can easily be termed as the most controversial writer. No writer has ever given so many controversial statements and that too within the span of few months! As if what he had said already was not enough, in a recent interview he made the most derogatory statements towards the woman guest analyst Marvi Sarmid who also happens to be a well-known feminist, acitivist and analyst.
Few months back MD Productions banned Firdous Jamal when he shared his views about Mahira Khan’s look and acting. He criticized Mahira for her acting and said that she looks too old to play the lead. Many actors too criticized him for that. What Khalil-ur-Rehman has done is much more grave, whether he will apologize or not that remains to be seen but it is valid to question if people like him should really be writing our dramas.
Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar just signed a mega deal with one of the biggest production houses in the country. Humayun Saeed and other producers, channel owners were also seen defending him or staying silent in the past. There are many people who want to see him getting banned and there are also those who are applauding him!
Even a controversial celebrity like Aamir Liaquat have an opinion on the issue!
What is your opinion should Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar be banned after what he did particularly with Marvi Sarmad? The way he lashed out at someone on television like that simply shows that he is not capable of having a decent discussion. The way he commented on this woman’s body also proves many people who term him as a misogynists right. A petition has already been initiated by director Angeline Malik to ban Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar.
Will this be the final nail in the coffin for Khalil-ur-Rehman? And how will this impact his upcoming film? Will the producers and channel owners continue to ignore the criticism and call for a ban? Share your thoughts.
Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar is a famous dram writer. He was once known for is writings more than anything else. Lately however after the success of drama serial Mere Pass Tum Ho which was penned down by him, he has been giving the most controversial statements against women in interviews. His dialogue for Mere Pass Tum Ho also came under scrutiny because many viewers felt they were belittling towards women. A writer who calls himself the biggest feminist around lashed out on women on national television yet again. This time around his statements were more baffling than before. People are outraged at these statements. Here is the video in which he passes comments about women which once again have disturbed many for obvious reasons.
Dramas are known as such because as closer to reality they might be, certain situations and scenarios are often exaggerated to show their gravity as well as intensify them. This is the reason why dramatization is at times is a little more elaborate and the viewers get to see things from a different perspective because reality is a lot more different to what is being shown on the TV. The Pakistani drama writers take pride in writing such stories which are very much reflective of the real life stories, however, the way the director directs and executes it gives a script the final touches.
Pakistani dramas have been popular for various reasons, people find their stories in the dramas they come across, they also connect and relate to the characters who are more or less going through the same situation as them in a drama. This is one of the best aspects of Pakistani dramas, however, then comes the not so best part, which often leaves the viewers amused and at times speechless because of how unrealistically things were portrayed. These scenarios are pretty much a part of every single drama, they may or may not impact the story overall, but they are always noticed. Such points often raise a question on how the director approached things and the actors also are not spared because they also give in without doing much to improve or change how the director was trying to perceive and portray the scenario. If these things are taken care of, they can make Pakistani dramas a lot more realistic and would also spare the viewers random thoughts on how wrong and poorly conceived the scene was.
Let’s take a look at the 10 unrealistic scenarios in Pakistani dramas:
Packing Clothes With Hangers
Each and every single Pakistani drama viewer who has packed a bag or a suitcase, for a longer trip or short, in urgency or after a lot of planning knows that hangers are not meant for the suitcase. Not only because they are going to eat the weight allowance, they are going to have the space inside the luggage compromised, but also because they are not practical and they are meant to stay inside the wardrobes. In Pakistani dramas, the actresses who threaten their husbands of leaving and going to their parents’ house often show urgency by packing their suitcase with clothes hanging on the hangers. This is quite a common phenomenon that takes place in dramas. Does this mean that the heroine wants to show that there are no extra hangers in her parents’ house and also because she doesn’t want to be a burden on her parents, that is why she is taking that extra care and being overly considerate by taking a thing as nominal and as impractical as a hanger with her! Also, a few shirts in and the bag is packed? What about toiletries, night suits, a pair of footwear, perfumes, deodorant, jewelry and makeup – all the other things that are required by the actress to survive? Because they look tip top in the following scene whereas they leave like hobos from their spouse’s house!
Cooking Meals With Untied Hair
There is nothing more frustrating than seeing a character in the kitchen, cooking meals for the family with her hair open. Kitchen is the hottest most humid place in the house; in Winter it gets warm and in Summers it is like an inside of the oven itself, therefore to see the heroines not tying their hair and cooking the food comfortably does make the viewers want to tie their hair tight in a bun, away from the nape of their necks because just by seeing such a scenario makes them uncomfortable. Also, the actors are lucky that the food they are shown to be eating is definitely ordered from the restaurants nearby before the shooting of the scene begins, because if they were to eat the actual food cooked by these young actresses, they’d be eating strands of hair instead of rice grains!
Having Confidential Conversations With Doors Open
This has to be one of the funniest parts of every drama. In all the scenes of all the dramas, where the characters are sharing secrets and discussing the most confidential matters with each other, they always do that without shutting the doors. This bad habit is not just restricted to sharing secrets, in most cases when the characters are talking on the phone and badmouthing people they are with, they often get overheard or someone walks in. No one in real life has this much courage to be openly backbiting or sharing important details so carelessly.
Ending Phone Conversations Without Telling To Hang Up
No Allah Hafiz, no Khuda Hafiz, no Byes, nothing is ever said. Each and every phone conversation in Pakistani dramas is ended without a proper ending note. This has to be one of the most unrealistic scenarios ever. In real life, no matter how short or important a phone call is, the people on both ends are always habitual of saying some parting words because that’s how the minds are conditioned, but it seems Pakistani actors are not used to it!
Waking Up & Going To Bed With Full Face of Makeup
This is another unrealistic scene in every single drama where the characters wake up looking like they slept-walk to the beauty parlour nearby and came back with a perfect blow dry and full face of makeup. Also, quite a lot of times, ladies are shown putting hand creams at the end of the day and they are doing this beauty routine just before going to sleep. Hand cream means this is going to be the last thing they are doing to do because no one washes their hands after they apply the hand creams and while looking at their face, the pores of the viewers cringe and clog at the thought of the ladies going to bed without washing their makeup clad face!
Fainting Is A Synonym For Pregnancy
Pregnancy is a different experience for different women. There are no hard and fast rules for pregnancy but for somewhere pregnancy symptoms become stronger in the very early stages, there is also a huge margin of women who do not feel any symptom at all. In Pakistani drama, this situation is always dramatized by either the actress feeling dizzy or fainting straight away, which even before going to the hospital gives the Puphis and Chachis a confirmation that the bahu is umeed se. Also, God Forbid if a female character who is heard saying that she is craving something sour and spicy, the glimmer in the eyes of aunties lurking around is worth noting because they being the unqualified doctors themselves just know at heart that the girl is pregnant. What about those women who do not crave sour and spicy, rather develop sweet tooth during pregnancy? Does it mean they stand no chance in Pakistani dramas and won’t ever be represented?
Having Perfect Hair & Makeup In Grave Situations
There are very few actors who believe in looking realistic and elaborating the scene which calls for their natural state without much makeup, but there are a lot of actors who want to look perfect no matter what. The actors and actresses always love to have a full face of glam on even if the character’s life has turned upside down. They do not believe in letting go of the makeup and compromise on looking natural which will actually add more reality to the situation.
Breaking Tea Cups Without Worrying About Cleaning
No matter how shocking the news is, no one in real life just goes around breaking a full tray of filled tea cups or glasses of water just so carelessly. This is another aspect which is quite stretched in Pakistani dramas. In reality, if someone gets to hear something shocking, the first reaction usually is to put everything they are holding in their hands at the table nearby carefully, sit on a chair and then listen to the rest of the details. Scenes like these irk the viewers quite a lot because in reality is someone breaks a tea cup or a glass randomly, the first thing they get to hear are a few taunts from their mothers for ruining the set they had recently bought from the crockery shop and also, it is so messy that the one who committed this blunder has to clean it up properly. Imagine spilling a full cup of tea on the floor on a regular basis and then dealing with the sticky mess afterward because if going by this trend in the drama; in real life, a lot of things often come across quite shocking, which means destruction of a lot of crockery sets!
Children Not Speaking Like Children At All
In Pakistani dramas, it will be an exception if a child artist speaks like one and is given the dialogues fit for his age. However, that is not the case and a lot of times, the child artists put the grandfather characters to shame because of their over efficiency, wisdom and maturity. This often makes the viewers wonder why the writers were relying on a child to do all the talking whereas they could have easily hired a mature actor to play that part in a drama. In real life, if a child speaks like that or pokes his or her nose in adult matters, the people around such a child tell them to stay silent and sit in the corner, play with the blocks or dig boogers out of their nose!
Wearing Whites On Deaths & Funerals
This is totally inspired by Bollywood movies but unfortunately this has become quite common in Pakistani dramas that the dress code to attend a funeral has to be an all-white dress. For men, it happens to be quite easy because every single Pakistani man has a white shalwar kameez hanging in the wardrobe probably for Jummah prayers or the one they got on last Eid, but for women to have a freshly washed, ironed, elaborately beautiful and embroidered all white shalwar kameez sitting in a cupboard is highly unlikely. Jokes apart, this is one such trend that should be discouraged and not promoted in Pakistani dramas whatsoever because it is not only realistic but totally not in line with the cultural norm of Pakistani society.
This concludes the list of unrealistic scenarios seen in Pakistani dramas repeatedly. Which one of these have you noticed and laughed the most at? Feel free to share your opinions in the comment section below.

The lovebirds of town, Iqra Aziz and Yasir Hussain are one of the most famous celebrity couples. They openly express love for each other on social media.
Yasir Hussain never leaves a chance to show love for his wife. So, he tattooed the love of his life Iqra Aziz’s name in Arabic font on his arm.
Yasir Hussain’s gesture of love is severely criticized by social media. Many people on the internet are calling this act of love haraam and against Islamic teachings.
Check out what people commented about Yasir Hussain’s tattoo:
The couple often receives backlash from people for being open about their love life but Yasir Hussain and Iqra Aziz absolutely ignore their haters and continue to do things that they love.
Sajal Ali and Saboor Aly are celebrity sisters with their own distinct standing. When it comes to performances and the way they present themselves in public, the two sisters are different from one another. Unlike celebrity sisters like Aiman/Minal and Mawra/Urwa, Saboor and Sajal do not give a lot of interviews together.
In fact, apart from their rare pictures together on social media, these celebrity sisters are different from other celebrity siblings who are quite close to one another. Sajal Aly always is an important part of the discussion whenever Saboor is being interviewed. Saboor revealed some interesting facts about their relationship with each other while giving a few interviews.
Social Media Comparison
Social media nowadays is the easiest tool to find out more about any celebrity. Sajal Aly runs her own Instagram page and does not post very often. Saboor Aly on the other hand has hired a PR agent and a talent agency to run her Instagram page.
Saboor Aly’s Instagram page clearly aims at promoting her as a brand whereas Sajal’s page is more often all about what she wants to share with her fans. Even then, Sajal has more followers than her sister.
Sajal Aly’s following on social media clearly shows that she has made a name for herself through her work. Sajal Aly is definitely liked more by the fans and even without the assistance of the PR companies, she has made a name for herself.
Sajal and Saboor Relationship
Many people might not know that Sajal Aly is the older sister. Separately, Sajal Aly and Saboor Aly have their own presence on television and social media but together they are not a ‘brand’ like the other celebrity sisters mentioned above. Sajal Aly used to post pictures with Saboor often with cute captions but lately she is focusing more on her new family. In a recent interview Saboor shared that she was playing the role of the head of the family after her mother’s sad demise. Saboor also shared that Sajal’s engagement with Ahad has proved to be a blessing for them in more ways than one.
There have hardly been instances when Saboor and Sajal went all out to support each other. They respect each others space and every now and then post pictures together but that’s about it. Anyone who has siblings can relate to their relationship because you can’t always be close to all your siblings. We also do not see Sajal and Saboor enjoying holidays like the other celebrity sisters.
They walk their separate paths without going all out and supporting each other. Even when Saboor Aly got into a controversy on the sets of her drama, Sajal Aly decided to stay quiet about it. Sajal did speak out to support Ahad Raza Mir when he was criticized because of his singing in Coke Studio but she did not speak out when people were criticizing Saboor for her rude remarks for the assistant director.
Similarly, Saboor Aly has never really gone all out to promote Sajal Aly’s dramas, the way other celebrity sister’s show their support for each other. Even though Sajal is part of not one but two hit dramas at the moment but not once has Saboor shown her support or appreciation for her sister. Similarly, Sajal is never seen promoting her sister’s dramas on social media. This is odd because both the sisters are active on social media.
They clearly have their own lives and different support systems. While Saboor Aly usually gives credit to friends for always being there for her, Sajal Aly for the past few years has been relying more on the men in her life. Right now, Ahad Raza Mir and his mother seem to be much more close to Sajal Aly than anyone else.
Career and Acting Skills
Saboor Aly’s career started after Sajal’s acting career had already taken off. Even though Saboor Aly is not a newcomer but she has not been able to make a name for herself . Saboor has played the lead in many dramas and she has also played a supporting character in a film yet she does not have the same star status which Sajal Aly has. Sajal Aly is the kind of actress whose name sells dramas. She is also versatile and has experimented more in her career. Even at a young age, Sajal Aly played challenging roles and excelled at them. Sajal has not only done a film as a lead in Pakistan but was also applauded for her performance in her debut film in Bollywood.
Saboor Aly has failed to prove her worth as a versatile actress. She does much better in negative roles but she doesn’t have the kind of variety to offer which Sajal has. The fact that Saboor Aly clearly sees Sajal as a competitor makes the comparison even more meaningful. When asked in an interview who in her opinion was the most popular celebrity, she did not take Sajal’s name but said that she too was popular, everyone is popular!
When Saboor joined the industry, many people knew her as Sajal’s sister. Even after all these years, Sajal has the kind of presence and identity that most people know Saboor as Sajal’s sister. As far as career and acting skills are concerned, Sajal is definitely way ahead of the game.
Sajal and Saboor’s Love Life
As far as their love life is concerned, these sisters are not entirely different from each other. Both of them keep their love life secret unlike Aiman and Minal who have always been so open about it. Saboor Aly’s name was once associated with actor Ali Josh back in 2017. There were also rumors that they were engaged. Saboor Aly was often seen with Ali Josh, they also worked together but she never talked about these rumors.
In a recent interview, Saboor Aly said that she does not believe in dating or engagements, whoever will be serious about her, will directly ask her to get married to her and that is what she was going to do. The interviewer even asked her if she was taking a dig at Sajal since Sajal has been in a relationship not once but twice.
Before Sajal and Ahad got engaged, Sajal was in a relationship with Feroze Khan. Although, they never talked about their relationship but it was like an open secret. This relationship ended with Feroze Khan getting married.
After this break up Sajal Aly and Ahad Raza Mir became popular as Sahad and unlike before this time around Sajal’s relationship ended in an engagement and soon these two are going to get married. Right till the end, Sajal and Ahad chose not to talk about their relationship. Even now although they are the most famous celebrity couple, they choose not to be seen together so often.
Although, it is common knowledge that Ahad and Sajal are getting married soon but they have not announced a date. There have been dholkis in the family but not a single picture of the celebrity couple has surfaced on social media from these events.
Sajal and Saboor both are private individuals who do not talk about their relationships openly. While Saboor has made it clear that she has no plans of dating anyone, Sajal Aly always keeps her relationships undercover.
Concluding Remarks
When it comes to stardom, Sajal Aly clearly is the winner. As far as personalities are concerned, Sajal seems to be a more private person than Saboor. It also appears to be that Sajal has a more strong personality. Saboor Aly is still trying hard to be recognized as a star while Sajal is already one.

But people are waiting anxiously to hear Ahad and Sajal’s wedding bells. The two got engaged last year and ever since became the talk of the town. There were many rumors about their wedding. Some said they will marry in Turkey while others posted a cake with ”Ahad Sajal’s Dholki” on it.
Ahad and Sajal Ali are busy with their wedding preparation, invitations, and shopping. While they are busy with wedding stuff, Ahad’s Khala Saba Ali arranged a dholki event all the way in California. She invited her friends to be a part of her happiness. She posted pictures on her Instagram account to show her love and excitement for the wedding.
Specially designed dholki cake with other sweet dishes was set beautifully on the table. Khala and all her friends looked gorgeous and happy. Let’s wait for the real dholki night.
The story finally moved forward with this episode and just like every other episode of Ishqiya , this one too had quite a few eye-rolling scenarios. There were also some developments which were likable. Roomi’s strong personality is definitely one of the most likable aspects of this drama but unfortunately she will be married to Hamza and that is when things will start going downhill. The writer has continuously used Siddiqui sahab’s medical condition as a majboori yet the viewers don’t know even now what is wrong with him. The introduction to the characters was given a little too quickly which is why some of these characters keep you guessing. The excessive use of background score and not enough situations to establish the relationship between some of the characters has been another negative aspect of the play so far. The viewers do not really know Hamna that well therefore it is difficult to relate to her family being ‘cool’ with her being a zinda lash!
Latest Developments
Tonight’s episode of Ishqiya opened with Hamza’s friend telling Hamna that she was responsible for the condition he was in. The first few scenes covered how desperately Hamza’s parents wanted him to be well. By showing all these scenes and this particular situation, the writer is building the foundation for the upcoming events. Few days back, Hamza’s mother was bent on marrying him off to Alishba but now she will be more flexible. Her dialogues suggested that she regretted her decision and will now do whatever it takes to please her son. That would make it easy for Hamza to convince his mother to accept Roomi as her daughter in law. Although, Roomi is supposed to be madly in love with Hamza but it is extremely difficult to relate to this ‘ishq’. Although her majbooris made sense but even then this track has not been handled properly. Hamza and Hamnah should have been given more screen time. The only aspect of their relationship which has been given a lot of screen time is Hamza’s madness. The way Hamna made her way to Hamza’s room in the hospital was definitely not relatable or realistic. Someone in a critical condition like that of Hamza is never left alone, unsupervised!
Azeem finally was shown wondering whether Hamna was interested in him or not – better late than never! The conversation he had with his mother also revealed a little bit more about his character. His dialogues suggested that he was not a flexible person and he expected a lot from his wife. Since Hamna is used to ‘pleasing’ her father, pleasing the husband should come naturally to her! Azeem’s dialogues in the hospital when he was trying to console Hamna were also disturbing. So far, Hamna is just lost and is least bothered about her relationship with Azeem. Roomi definitely is the sensible one not only because her situation is different from Hamna’s but also because so far she is not a bechari in any way. Had Roomi been in a similar situation, she would have taken wiser decisions.
The men in this play are turning out to be a big disappointment. Azeem clearly is another one of those men who expect the woman to compromise. Even though Hamna and Roomi’s father overall is a sweet and gentle person but some of the expectations he has from his daughters make him a really typical character. This was a good opportunity for the writer to highlight the importance of a girl’s consent in marriage but the story seems to be going in a different direction. Hopefully, the wiser viewers can see just how unfair Siddiqui sahab has been to his daughter.
Final Remarks
So far, the best thing about Ishqiya are the performances. Even though Hamna’s character is quite annoying and Hamza’s character doesn’t have anything new to offer but both the actors have been performing well. Hania Aamir is convincing as the confident and bubbly Roomi. Even though Roomi’s complete disregard of her sister’s ‘condition’ makes absolutely no sense. Similarly, Siddiqui sahab’s character is rather confusing but Shabbir Jan makes it worthwhile. The preview of the next episode showed Hamza recovering and executing his revenge plan! Not exactly looking forward to what is coming ahead but curious to see how Roomi deals with the entire situation. I can already see Hamza’s mother as the typical saas and Alishba as the woman trying endlessly to create even more misunderstandings!

Pakistani dramas are based on realities of life. The writers of Pakistani dramas take pride in the fact that they pick up real-life incidents and turn them into stories suitable for dramatization. For decades, Pakistani dramas have done well and earned a reputation due to realistic portrayal of realities, however with the passage of time, everything became a lot more commercial where the main focus shifted from quality content to profits and ratings. This approach of the producers and channels in general gave the writers the edge to come up with different and random ideas as far as they got them the ratings.
In recent years, where these sorts of dramas did earn a lot of ratings, there was a large number of audience that did not condone what was being shown in the name of entertainment or dramatization. A lot of different dramas which dealt with different issues without heavily relying on the rating-grabbing-negativity-selling ideas also did well in terms of popularity, which already sent a message loud and clear that people were looking for better content and not everyone was a fan of such sort of dramas which had nothing new to offer.
There are quite a lot of trends in Pakistani dramas that have become a norm and the writers rely heavily on them to develop and establish the story. It is unfortunate how common these trends have become because now, instead of looking like a story based on real-life incidents, it looks like there’s nothing new or different that the writers can come up with, therefore they keep on writing stories on these lines. It becomes frustrating for the viewers to keep on seeing similar things over and over again. As much as the writers should take their role in drama-making seriously, they should also focus on how to strike a healthy balance between everything they intend to come up with.
Here are the 10 common trends that should be banned in Pakistani dramas:
Lies and Deceit
There is hardly any Pakistani drama that goes on air which does not include tonnes and tonnes of lies and deceit. Every other character is shown to be capable of stirring the pot with their lies and those, who may or may not speak falsely, find it very easy to believe in these lies. Unfortunately, in order to showcase these factors, the writers compromise heavily on the traits of a human being to analyze the situation and put their brains to good use. A lot of times, the writers turn these characters black and white and forgot to maintain a balance by adding shades to their characters. Lying and deceit has become so common in every single drama that people have gotten used to this trend and if there’s a character that does not speak falsely, the viewers find it hard to digest such truthful and honest characters. The writers are very well aware of the fact that media or dramas in general are a great mind-controlling tool, therefore for the sake of ratings, to make such a questionable attribute seem totally normal is definitely not alright.
Slaps and Domestic Violence
This is one such trend that should be banned in every single Pakistani drama whatsoever, irrespective of how grave the situation is. Domestic violence unfortunately is a reality for a large part of the population, therefore to bring it to such a basic level where every helpless character is subjected to so much of violence and mistreatment in general does not send a good message across. Those who are faced with this situation in their lives find no hope by seeing so much helplessness in the dramas and those who are capable of subjecting others to this cruelty find a justification for their behavior. This issue is pretty sensitive as it is but by showing it so casually in every single drama not only normalizes it but also desensitizes the viewers to an extent that they start seeing domestic violence or slaps in any given situation as a very trivial issue. The writers always bring in the argument of depicting reality through their dramas for their defence but they often forget that the viewers are intelligent enough to see through their rating-grabbing tactics because by the end of the day, not all but most of the writers do focus on this factor the most.
Childlessness and Miscarriages As A Punishment
These matters are very sensitive for people who are going through this in any way, therefore to make it so black and white is another trend that should be stopped in Pakistani dramas. One way or the other, a villain is shown to be childless, to automatically generate this perception that because of her negativity, she is unable to bear a child and is being punished for the atrocities she is committing. There are also a few examples of negative characters falling pregnant and eventually ending up miscarrying the child, which again is the writer’s way of writing the fate of these characters that because they have not been upto any good, they could not earn the status of being a mother. Childlessness, pregnancy and motherhood, each and every stage in a Pakistani woman’s life is already related to so much judgment to an extent of putting her into depression, therefore seeing the media play such a role and highlighting it in such a negative way definitely does not help and doesn’t show a good picture in any case.
One-sided Domination of The Villains
This is another trend that has been prevalent in Pakistani dramas for the longest time, however in recent years, the negativity of the villains has touched the sky. There are such people in real life too, however, it is absolutely ridiculous on the writers’ part to show that the villains continue to commit their atrocities while others are completely blind and are unable to see the reality. This is one such factor which brings a lot of ratings unfortunately because the audience have become immune to seeing so much negativity that they automatically get drawn to these stories. Also because the audience do not have much option left when the leading channels sell such ideas, therefore these dramas become popular giving the writers a false idea that people are approving these themes and plots. The writers make the villains so strong for the major chunk of the drama and the rest of the characters take these sufferings as their destiny. This has to be the most absurd plot a writer can come up with. It is not only annoying but frustrating too because in real life, one way or the other, the villains are confronted and they necessarily do not have a control on every single situation that is happening under their roof, but in Pakistani dramas, the negative characters reign supreme and no one bats an eyelid.
Goodness To An Extent of Stupidity
This is another trend that frustrates a Pakistani drama viewer to no end. The good or God-fearing characters are shown to be so nice that they end up looking dumb or stupid. Things obviously don’t work that way. If someone is a harmless person who does not believe in violence or getting involved in negativity, it does not necessarily have to mean that they should not only be subjected to cruelty, they also do not speak up for themselves. In a lot of Pakistani dramas, it is shown that the good people are put through so much harassment and they do not have the courage to speak up or take a stand for themselves. To show helplessness of good or God fearing people is quite a stretch which doesn’t have much to do with reality and has been dramatized to make the most of it.
Marriage and Child As A Rehab
In so many dramas, those characters who are not fit for marriage or bearing the responsibility of a child are forced into marriage and the safest, common, most-heard argument to support it happens to be the fact that people believe these life-changing turn of events will automatically instill maturity, sense of responsibility and wisdom in the useless and good-for-nothing characters. It is quite common to hear these dialogues in Pakistani dramas that their good-for-nothing offspring will change for the better after the marriage, whereas things end up getting worse and both the people involved find themselves in deep trouble after getting to know the reality when the novelty wears off and the bubbles burst.
Male Characters Getting Away With Everything
This has to be one such narrative that needs to change in Pakistani dramas with immediate effect. It has been years and years of painting the finale of the dramas with similar brush where no matter what male characters do, they always get forgiven one way or the other and all they have to do is ask for a half-hearted apology. It is also ridiculous how men doing wrong is also blamed upon women that because they must not be meeting the man’s standards, he is losing the track and not being sincere. Cheating and infidelity is one thing, in general male characters in our dramas get away with everything and they are not held accountable and are never questioned for being complete morons.
Message Not Being Conveyed In a Single Conversation
This has to be one of the most frustrating aspects of drama watching. Indeed the stories are dramatized and some of the situations are prolonged for the effect, but there are uncountable incidents where the conversations could be easily completed, conveying the message loud and clear but the writers don’t write the dialogues or the directors and the editors feel the need to cut the conversation short. This is the reason if an entire picture is completed in a single conversation and it is not dragged for unnecessarily long scenes, the viewers sigh with relief.
Incomplete Conversations Leading To Misunderstandings
This is pretty much an extension of the point mentioned above but so many times, because the argument is not conveyed properly and accurately, it leads to misunderstandings and then every single character forgets what the actual issue was and they dwell so much into the misunderstanding that they lose the plot. There is nothing as relieving and refreshing seeing the characters having full dialogues at hand to say what is needed to be said and finish the matter off then and there.
Giving The Drama A Half Baked Wrap Up In Last 2 Minutes
This has pretty much become a fact and a done deal that the directors and even writers of Pakistani dramas don’t really know how to give any drama a proper closure. Very few dramas out of thousands give the viewers a satisfactory and complete ending, which is unfair because the audience invests so much time therefore the least they deserve is a proper closure. It is always ironic that the drama makers have weeks and weeks of time to develop the story leading towards the ending. They have a lot of episodes where they can start building the ending up so that in the last episode, they don’t have to rush everything and leave so many questions unanswered and not tying the loose ends, but unfortunately, that turns out to be the case with most of the dramas, even with the dramas that are directed by intelligent directors.
This concludes the list of the trends that should not be promoted rather banned in Pakistani dramas. Do you agree with the list? Which of these factors disappoint you the most as a drama-viewer. Feel free to share your opinion in the comment section below.
